Tollywood stars descend on Jaipur for Karthikeya’s wedding

Star director SS Rajamouli’s son SS Karthikeya is going to tie the knot with niece of Jagapathi Babu, Pooja on the 30th of this month in Jaipur. Lavish arrangements have been made for the three day ceremony which will be according to Hindu tradition.

Reportedly, top Tollywood stars like NTR, Ram Charan, Prabhas, Nani, Rana, Nagarjuna, Anushka etc have flown down to Jaipur today to attend this marriage ceremony. Rajamouli has invited only his close friends from Tollywood. A video in which Prabhas was seen shaking a leg with fans in Jaipur has been going viral in social media since today evening.

A grand reception will be held in Hyderabad for the who’s who of Tollywood on January 5th.

Baahubali team SS Rajamouli, Prabhas and Rana Daggubati turned up the guests on Koffee with Karan tv show that was telecasted last night. Karan Johar during the interview asked Prabhas about his favorite actor listing NTR, Ram Charan, Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun. Prabhas has been asked to arrange them in a list as per his favorite.

Prabhas rated NTR as his favorite actor and then came Mahesh, Allu Arjun and Charan. When asked about food and sex, Prabhas preferred food over the second saying that he is a foodie. “Prabhas is occupied with too much work and he is lazy to get married” said Rajamouli. Prabhas called Anushka called his best friend and clarified that he is not in a relationship with her.

Baahubali trio Prabhas, Rana and SS Rajamouli debuted in the popular chat show ‘Koffee with Karan’ in its latest episode and it was aired this Sunday evening. From personal lives to profession, the trio spoke with candour and made this one of the best episodes in recent times. There were a lot of candid revelations and funny jinks throughout the show and there was nary a dull moment in the episode.

The show started with Karan asking about the working experiences of the trio while doing the magnum opus period drama Baahubali. While Rana said it was like going to an acting school learning a lot of things, Prabhas said he believed in Rajamouli’s vision and execution. The trio revealed that they were so tensed the day before the film’s release. Prabhas stayed in Delhi and Rana flew to Mumbai on the day of Baahubali release. Rajamouli said they didn’t expect the impact and reception it got in audience after the release.

On who is the bad boy out of the two, Rajamouli pointed to Prabhas. Both actors said they are single and are not dating any one. When Karan Johar asked Prabhas if he is dating Anushka, he said there is no truth in rumours and said she is just a best friend from the past eight years. It has also been revealed that Anushka’s actual name is Sweety.

The rapid fire round is the most exciting part of the episode. Both Rana and Prabhas have voted for Deepika Padukone and Anushka Shetty as the sexiest actresses at present. Rana also opened up about his relationship with Trisha and said they dated for while before calling it splits. ‘ Being Single is the best way to be’ said both the actors. They preferred Ranbeer over Ranveer among the current generation of actors in Bollywood.

About the order of preference of actors according to their screen presence, Prabhas answered NTR, Mahesh Babu, Bunny and Charan. Prabhas also revealed that he prefers food over sex. Rajamouli came up a startling facts about Prabhas’ farmhouse and how big a food lover he is. Rana said Mahesh Babu and Namrata give couple goals. Rajamouli said he has excelled in capturing the emotions with actions than any other filmmaker. He revealed that Mahanati is one recent film which blew him away.

Rajamouli took home the coveted Karan Hamper for his honesty and abruptness in the rapid show. He also aced over Rana and Prabhas in the gaming round.

KGF, a big budget Kannada film has been creating ripples across the country. The film’s trailer looked quite interesting and this heaped up the expectations on the film. During his speech, Rajamouli said “During the story discussions of RRR, I have been to Bengaluru during April this year and stayed in Taj. Yash and his team were staying there and they requested me to watch some of the visuals of KGF. I was blown away with the content and immediately called Anil Thadani, Shobu Yarlagadda and Sai Korrapati. I wanted KGF to get a pan Indian release. If the film is as good as the trailer, KGF will sure be a super hit. Every big budget film cannot be a pan Indian film. I was surprised to know that Yash’s father is a bus driver and he continues in his profession even after his son turned a Superstar”.

RRR : Pre-release business expectations are mind-boggling

After the monstrous box office success of Baahubali franchise, it is of no surprise that SS Rajamouli’s next project would be the cynosure of trade circles and audience all over the country. With NTR and Charan in lead roles, the project is bound to trigger unprecedented buzz and is expected to set new benchmarks in terms of pre release business and other trade deals.

Trade expectations on this crazy multi-starrer , which is tentatively titled as RRR, are quite staggering and mind blowing. Reportedly, the pre release business for RRR is expected to surpass 600 Crores. While the theatrical rights of all languages will be around 400 Crores, the digital and satellite rights are likely to fetch close to 200 Crores. This will be a record breaking pre release business for any Indian film by a huge margin. It is learnt that NTR and Charan will pocket a hefty remuneration which is equal to two movies for this magnum opus. Producer Danayya and Rajamouli will get equal share on profits incurred from the business done after deducting the budget spent on the film.

So, even before the film’s shoot has started rolling, RRR has started creating ripples in trade circles. The makers are planning to release the film in mid 2020.

India’s blockbuster magnum opus Baahubali, directed by midas touch hit-maker SS Rajamouli, has created havoc at the box office and notched up more than 600 Crores worldwide. The film has caught the attention of international buyers and was sold for record prices in China, Japan and Latin America.

The demand for the epic drama is no lesser in Europe. Reports reveal that several distributors in Europe are vying for the rights of this top grossing Indian film. Pierre Assouline, a leading distributor in Europe, said that Baahubali has turned the heads of the audience globally and there is no other Indian movie which is in so much demand like Baahubali in the European countries.

Speaking to an international media outlet, he said, “Film market is the need of the hour. It helps in finding films international distributors. I’m sure there are many good Indian films that deserve a release in other countries as well,”
