Telangana Congress chief stopped from visiting Secretariat

0

Hyderabad police on Monday stopped Telangana Congress chief A. Revanth Reddy from proceeding to state Secretariat.

Police stopped Revanth Reddy near Telephone Bhavan near the Secretariat.

Revanth, who is also a member of Parliament, took exception to the police action. He said he was going to the Secretariat to meet Special Chief Secretary Municipal Administration Arvind Kumar over the issue of the leasing of the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to a private party.

He questioned the government’s decision to lease ORR for 30 years.

Police said Revanth was stopped as he had not taken permission to meet officials. The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief argued that there is no need to take appointments to go to the Secretariat.

Revanth wanted to know the rules under which he was being stopped.

Police have beefed up security at the Secretariat, which was inaugurated on Sunday. Barricades have been erected at the entrance.

The TPCC chief said that the leasing of ORR by the government as a big scam. He said the project that would generate Rs 30,000 crore in the next 10 years was leased out for just Rs 7,380 crore.

Revanth had told reporters on Sunday that huge sums had changed hands in the deal. The ORR, which is estimated to grow at least 10 per cent annually, cannot be given away at a throwaway lease price, he argued.

He claimed that the toll collection on the ORR is Rs 2 crore every day and the extension without any tender benefitted the bigwigs, and Minister for Municipal Administration K. T. Rama Rao should explain the reasons for the extension without the tender.

He said the Congress government would surely review the lease as soon as it comes to power after the next elections and warned that those behind this shady deal will not be spared.

Telangana Congress leaders detained during ‘chalo Raj Bhavan’ march

0

Congress leaders and scores of workers in Hyderabad were detained on Wednesday when they tried to march towards Raj Bhavan to “expose” the relationship between Adani group and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Tension prevailed at busy Khairatabad crossroads as police stopped the Congress rally which started from Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) office at Gandhi Bhavan and was heading towards Raj Bhavan, the official residence of the governor.

Police had erected barricades to stop the protesters. There were heated arguments between police officers and Congress leaders who raised an objection to the police action. As the protesters tried to push through the barricades, the police used force to stop them and detained them.

Those detained included Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, senior leader Mallu Ravi, TPCC working president Anjan Kumar Yadav, leaders of women, youth and student wings of the party.

The Congress had called for chalo Raj Bhavan to “expose” the relationship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and industrialist Gautam Adani.

The protesters carrying party flags and placards reading ‘save LIC’ were raising slogans against the “anti-people” policies of the BJP-led government at the Centre.

Addressing the protesters at Khairatabad crossroads, Vikramarka alleged that the “Prime Minister was trying to shield Adani, who is involved in scams of billions of rupees”.

“The BJP would continue to destroy Constitutional institutions, public sector companies and the lives of people untill it is voted out of power,” he said.

By rejecting the opposition’s demand for setting up a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to probe “Adani scam”, the Prime Minister was trying to “protect” Adani, the Congress leader alleged.

“He (Modi) is trying to protect those who are looting the country’s wealth while we are striving to protect the public assets,” he said.

Narrow escape for TPCC chief in road accident

0

Six cars in the convoy of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president A. Revanth Reddy were damaged in an accident in Rajanna Sircilla district.

Few media persons travelling in two vehicles belonging to news channels were injured in the incident that occurred at Yellareddypet when Revanth Reddy was on his way for ongoing Haath Se Haath Jodo yatra.

Four SUVs, which were part of Revanth Reddy’s convoy, were damaged along with two media vehicles. The collision took place when the driver of one of the vehicles lost control and hit the vehicle moving in front. The cars following the first vehicle also rammed into each other.

Revanth Reddy and other occupants of SUVs had a narrow escape. The balloons in these vehicles opened due to the impact of the collision saving the passengers from major injuries.

However, few media persons travelling in two cars belonging to news channels were injured.

Revanth Reddy later left in another vehicle.

Meanwhile, the state government has informed the Telangana High Court that Revanth Reddy has been provided security during the ongoing yatra.

The TPCC chief had filed a petition seeking direction to the government to provide security in view of a recent incident in which supporters of ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) attacked the yatra.

Additional DGP, Intelligence, informed the High Court that a fax message had been sent to all unit officers of places where Revanth’s Haath Se Haath Jodo Yatra will pass through, instructing them to provide security.

Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy adjourned the hearing to Monday. He directed Revanth Reddy to inform the court whether he has been provided with security.

Telangana Congress MP meets new in-charge, appears defiant

1

Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, who was recently issued show cause notice by the party for alleged act of indiscipline, met newly appointed AICC in-charge for Telangana Manikrao Thakare on Thursday.

The MP told reporters after the meeting that he could not call on the in-charge on Wednesday as he was on a visit to his constituency. He did not reveal what he discussed with the new in-charge saying it was an internal matter of the party.

Venkat Reddy, however, appeared defiant as he remarked that the media should ask MLAs Seethakka, Veeraiah and Jagga Reddy as to why they did not meet Thakare on Wednesday. He also stated that he would not like to sit with those who lost elections 4-5 times.

Apparently, targetting Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief A. Revanth Reddy, Venkat Reddy stated that TPCC committees have no significance for him.

His remark comes in the wake of a section of senior leaders recently raising a banner of revolt against Revanth Reddy for filling up the party panels with his loyalists. The crisis forced the party’s central leadership to intervene and replace Manikam Tagore with Manikrao Thakare as state in-charge to set the house in order.

Thakare arrived in Hyderabad on Wednesday on his first visit to Telangana and has been holding a series of meetings with the party leaders.

Venkat Reddy also told the mediapersons that the show cause notice is no longer an issue as it has become clear that the video which was circulated on social media was fake.

Congress general secretary Tariq Anwar had issued notice to the Lok Sabha member on October 22 asking him to reply within 10 days.

The notice was issued after a voice recording went viral on social media in which Venkat Reddy is heard asking a Congress leader to support BJP candidate and his brother Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy in Munugode by-election.

A video clip had also gone viral in which Venkat Reddy is heard predictingAthat Congress will lose the by-election to Munugode Assembly seat.

Venkat Reddy, who is the star campaigner of the Congress party, did not campaign for the party in Munugode.

Venkat Reddy’s brother Rajagopal Reddy had resigned as MLA and also quit Congress to join BJP. He contested as BJP candidate but lost the by-election to the candidate of ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

The MP had also stayed away from Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra when it passed through Telangana.

He also embarrassed the party by meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi last month. He claimed that he did not discuss politics but made certain remarks which kept everyone guessing about his next move. “I will make a decision a month before elections are to be held. I will decide whether I contest for the Lok Sabha or for the Assembly. I will make up my mind on which party I will choose at that time,” he had said.

TRS can’t become national party by changing name: Kharge

1

Veteran Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday said that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) cannot become a national party by changing its name.

Kharge, a contender for the Congress party’s presidential elections, told reporters that several regional parties in the past changed their names to go national but nothing happened.

“ADMK became AIADMK, TMC became All India TMC. Did they become national parties,” he asked.

Kharge was talking to reporters at party headquarters Gandhi Bhavan here after his arrival in the city to campaign for the party’s presidential polls.

He also hit back at BJP leaders for ridiculing the presidential election of Congress party. He remarked that those who do not believe in democracy have no right to criticise the Congress party’s presidential poll.

The senior leader alleged that the BJP never conducted a presidential election. “Were Advani, Gadkari, Rajnath Singh, J. P. Nadda, Amit Shah and others elected as BJP presidents,” he asked.

Kharge termed the contest between him and Shashi Tharoor as the internal matter of the party.

Kharge alleged under the Narendra Modi government, India has seen a decline in all the sectors. He said Modi and Shah team has “destroyed” the country.

“They used to repeatedly ask us what we did in 70 years. We built dams and major irrigation projects. We built major public sector companies and they are selling all of them one after the other,” he said.

The unemployment has gone up to a record high during the BJP rule. He said crores of people have lost their jobs after Covid. He pointed out that the value of the rupee has dropped to an all-time low of 82.32 against dollar.

The Congress leader said during the Modi rule, the life of the common man has become miserable as there has been a steep hike in prices of essential commodities. The price of LPG cylinder which was Rs 416 during Congress rule has now gone up to Rs 1,100.

Kharge said the Modi government further added to the burden on common man by imposing GST on items like milk and even pencil and rubber.

Earlier, several Congress leaders accorded a warm welcome to Karge when he arrived at Begumpet Airport in the city. Kharge, who was accompanied by AICC secretary Sampath Kumar, was welcomed by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A. Revanth Reddy, MP Uttam Kumar Reddy, senior leaders V. Hanumanth Rao and Ponnala Lakshmaiah.

After reaching Ganhi Pavan, Kharge met TPCC delegates and interacted with them.

The Congress presidential polls are scheduled to be held on October 17. The results will be declared on October 19.

Telangana Congress leaders deny receiving ED notices in National Herald case

0

Telangana Congress leaders, including former minister Geetha Reddy and Mohammed Ali Shabbir, on Friday denied receiving Enforcement Directorate (ED) notices in the National Herald case.

Shabbir, a former minister, said that he has not received any notice from ED. He, however, said if he receives the notice, he would respond to the same.

Geeta Reddy said she has also not received any notice from the central agency.

Former MP from Secunderabad, Anjan Kumar Yadav also denied receiving ED notice.

Their clarification came amid some media reports that the ED has served notices to at least eight leaders of Congress leaders from Telangana summoning them for questioning.

Congress sources said the leaders made contributions through cheques and hence there was nothing wrong in it.

Former minister P. Sudarshan Reddy is also reported to have been summoned for questioning.

The Congress leaders allegedly transferred amounts to the accounts of companies involved in the National Herald case.

TPCC chief denies making remarks against Venkat Reddy

1

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief A. Revanth Reddy on Friday clarified that he did not make any remarks against the party MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.

Revanth Reddy’s clarification came after Venkat Reddy found fault with his remarks made during reaction to the resignation of latter’s brother Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy from the party.

Venkat Reddy had taken strong exception to the TPCC chief’s remarks allegedly referring to both the brothers. Venkat Reddy had also sought an apology from Revanth Reddy.

The state Congress chief, however, clarified that his remarks were not aimed at Venkat Reddy. He claimed that some people were deliberately trying to create differences between them.

“Rajagopal Reddy has betrayed Congress party while Venkat Reddy is working for the party. They are two different people,” he said.

Calling Venkat Reddy his brother, Revanth Reddy urged him not to believe the rumours being spread deliberately by some people.

MLA Rajagopal Reddy on Tuesday announced resignation from both the Congress party and state Assembly. He has dropped hints that he will soon join the BJP.

After Rajagopal Reddy’s resignation, Revanth Reddy had launched a bitter attack on him by calling him a ‘traitor’. The TPCC chief also alleged that Rajagopal Reddy was joining the BJP for contracts.

Rajagopal Reddy had also hit back at Revanth Reddy and termed him a ‘blackmailer’. The legislator claimed that Revanth Reddy became TPCC chief by bribing some leaders of the party at the Centre.

It may be recalled that both Komatireddy had attacked Revanth Reddy after he was named TPCC president last year.

Venkat Reddy had alleged that some central leaders of Congress took money to make Revanth Reddy the president. He had termed Revanth Reddy an outsider as he had quit Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to join Congress in 2017.

Both the brothers had also pointed out that Revanth Reddy was jailed in cash for vote scam.

Venkat Reddy had recently called on Revanth Reddy and both the leaders had agreed to work together. The central leadership of the party had also appointed Venkat Reddy as the party’s star campaigner.

Telangana Congress begins preparations for Munugode by-election

0

Soon after the resignation of Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy from the Congress and the Telangana Assembly, the party began efforts to formulate a strategy to defeat him in the by-election.

Acting swiftly, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) formed a seven-member strategy and campaign committee for Munugode constituency.

Senior leader Madhu Yashki Goud has been named as the convenor of the committee, and Ramreddy Damodar Reddy, Balram Naik, Danasari Anasuya, Anjan Kumar Yadav, S. A. Sampath Kumar and E. Anil Kumar are the members.

Congress in charge for Telangana, B. Manickam Tagore constituted the committee hours after Rajagopal Reddy announced his resignation.

Rajagopal Reddy said he would soon meet Assembly Speaker to submit his resignation. This would vacate the Assembly seat, won by him in 2018 elections.

He is likely to join the BJP and contest the by-election as the candidate of the saffron party.

The by-election will be crucial for Congress, which is desperate to regain the lost ground in the state.

Though Rajagopal Reddy’s resignation is not unexpected, it came as yet another blow to Congress.

In 2018 elections, the Congress had won 19 seats in 119-member Assembly. A few months after the polls, a dozen MLAs had switched loyalties to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).

The opposition party received another setback when it failed to retain Huzurnagar Assembly seat in by-election caused by the resignation of Uttam Kumar Reddy following his election to Lok Sabha in 2019 polls.

Rajagopal Reddy had raised the banner of revolt after 2019 elections with his statement that only the BJP is capable of defeating the TRS.

He had not made up his mind to switch loyalties but was staying away from Congress activities.

Rajagopal Reddy’s resignation brought down the strength of Congress party in the Assembly to five. The party had already lost the status of main opposition to All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), which has seven MLAs.

The Congress, which lost all Assembly by-elections during the last three years, is facing an uphill task in defeating Rajagopal Reddy in the by-election.

Taking strong exception to Rajagopal Reddy’s open attacks, the Congress leadership has asked him to either stay in the party or quit. After his resignation, Manickam Tagore called him a betrayer.

The Congress in charge called upon people of Munugode constituency and Congress workers to teach the betrayer a lesson.

Political analysts say Munugode by-election will be crucial for Congress as the BJP is upbeat after winning two Assembly by-elections during last two years.

Claiming to be the only viable alternative to the TRS, it is already working aggressively towards its goal of capturing power in 2023.

Munugode by-election, however, will give another chance to the Congress to bounce back.

T Congress MLA Komati Reddy quits

1

Telangana Congress MLA Komati Reddy Rajagopal Reddy had finally resigned his MLA seat. He is representing the Munugodu Assembly constituency of Nalgonda district.

There have been rumours that Rajagopal Reddy would join the BJP as he finds no future for the Congress Party in Telangana. He is said to have held a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah last week. However, sources say that there were some differences and the two leaders did not get clarity on Rajagopal Reddy joining the BJP.

The Komati Reddy brothers have been at loggerheads with Telangana PCC chief A Revanth Reddy, who had come from the TDP very recently. The party high command turned a deaf ear to the complaints and opinions of the Komati Reddy brothers in appointing Revanth Reddy as the TPCC chief.

The Komati Reddy brothers have been playing key roles in Nalgonda politics for more than a decade. Rajagopal Reddy’s brother Komati Reddy Venkata Reddy is now the Member of Lok Sabha representing the Bhongir constituency. The Bhongir Lok Sabha constituency was earlier represented by his brother Rajagopal Reddy.

Rajagopal Reddy said that the Congress in Telangana had become very weak and is not in a position to fight against the TRS government. He blamed the TRS for destroying the newly-born state of Telangana.

Though Rajagopal Reddy said that he would take the final call on his next move, after due consultation with the party workers, it is said that he would be joining the BJP shortly.

It is to be seen what Rajagopal Reddy’s elder brother Venkata Reddy would do, when his brother quits the Congress and joins the BJP!

Cong protest in Hyderabad turns violent, several arrested

0

The situation turned tense as the Congress’ call for siege of Raj Bhavan on Thursday was marred by violence. With police blocking the routes to Raj Bhavan, Congress party activists set fire to a two-wheeler and smashed windows of TSRTC buses.

Protests saw Congress leaders of Telangana getting into arguments with the police who were trying to pacify them and lead them away. When police tried to detain Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury, she objected and grabbed the collar of a police sub-inspector.

Telangana Congress chief Revanth Reddy, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Geetha Reddy, and other protesting leaders were arrested and taken to different police stations in the city.

The call for a siege of the Raj Bhavan was given to protest the alleged harassment of party leader Rahul Gandhi by the ED.

Police had tightened security around Raj Bhavan in view of the call given by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC).

Large number of police personnel were deployed to prevent protesters from gathering around Raj Bhavan.

TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy had announced that a rally would be taken out from Rajiv Gandhi statue at Punjagutta to Raj Bhavan.

However, police had said that there is no permission for a rally or protest at Raj Bhavan. Barricades were set up on roads leading towards Raj Bhavan to prevent protesters from reaching there.

Congress stages massive protest in Hyderabad

1

The Congress party on Monday staged a massive protest in Hyderabad against the summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate to party leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case.

Vehicular traffic was thrown out of the gear core city area as hundreds of party leaders marched to the regional ED office at Basheerbagh.

The massive rally led by the party’s state President A. Revanth Reddy began from Necklace Road on the banks of Hussain Sagar.

The state Congress is organising the rally in response to the call given by the party’s central leadership to organise the protest till Rahul Gandhi comes out of ED office.

Wearing black scarves, holding party flags and raising slogans against the Narendra Modi government at the Centre, the protestors marched to Basheerbagh via NTR Marg, Secretariat, Telugu Talli flyover, and Liberty.

The protestors were carrying placards demanding the ED to immediately withdraw the summons issued to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

Addressing the protestors, Revanth Reddy said there was no case against the top leaders of the party but the BJP government at the Centre was trying to target them as it feared defeat in 2024 elections.

He said since both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were fearless in their attacks on the Modi government for its anti-people policies, the government was looking to frame them in false cases.

Revanth Reddy also alleged that the BJP government was also trying to divert people’s attention from its failures on all fronts and the steep hike in fuel prices.

He said the people would fight against the attempts by the BJP to target the members of Gandhi family, which made many sacrifices for the country. He alleged that the ED has become a puppet in the hands of the Modi government.

Congress Legislature Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, former MPs Ponnam Prabhakar and Anjan Kumar Yadav, former ministers Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Jeevan Reddy, and other leaders participated in the rally.

Telangana Cong to urge Rahul Gandhi to launch nation-wide ‘yatra’ from state

1

The Telangana unit of the Congress will request party leader Rahul Gandhi to launch the proposed nation-wide ‘yatra’ from Telangana.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President A. Revanth Reddy said that Rahul Gandhi would be requested to cover a distance of 100 km in Telangana under the yatra.

He was addressing an extended executive meeting of TPCC at the party’s state headquarters here.

Speaking at the Chintan Shivir of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) in Udaipur on Sunday, Rahul Gandhi had said that a nation-wide yatra will be launched on October 2 to strengthen connection with people.

The TPCC executive committee passed a unanimous resolution endorsing all the decisions taken at the Chintan Shivir. The resolution will be sent to Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

Revanth Reddy claimed that the Kisan Sangharsh Sabha addressed by Rahul Gandhi at Warangal on May 6 and the Warangal Declaration passed at the meeting have attracted national attention.

The MP said that with digital membership and Warangal Declaration, TPCC has set a model and hoped that it would score a hat-trick with Rahul Gandhi’s yatra.

He also announced that as per Rahul Gandhi’s direction, the party would take the Warangal Declaration to the people. A month-long programme titled ‘arytu racchabanda’ will be launched on May 21, the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

During the campaign, the party will explain to the people what the party has promised for farmers in the declaration.

Telangana Cong leaders lodge police complaint against Assam CM

0

The Congress party in Telangana on Monday filed complaints against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for his derogatory comments on party leader Rahul Gandhi.

Congress leaders at various police stations in the state lodged complaints against Sarma, demanding his arrest.

State Congress chief Revanth Reddy and other leaders lodged a complaint at Jubilee Hills police station against the Assam chief minister over his offensive comments. He demanded that the police book a criminal case against Sarma and arrest him.

The Congress leaders urged the police to book the Assam chief minister under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 153A and 505 for promoting enmity between different groups.

Revanth Reddy called Sarma’s remarks an insult to the motherhood of every woman. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president J.P. Nadda should respond and sack Sarma immediately.

Reddy, who is also a member of Parliament was accompanied by senior leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Anjan Kumar Yadav, Sampath Kumar and others.

The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief said the police merely issued an acknowledgement. He said the police should register a First Information Report (FIR) and take criminal action against Sarma.

On a call given by Revanth Reddy, Congress leaders in various districts lodged police complaints against the Assam chief minister.

The MP demanded that the state police send a special team to arrest Sarma. He said if no action was taken on their complaints in 48 hours, the Congress party will stage protests in front of the offices of police commissioners and superintendents of police.

On Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao condemning his Assam counterpart’s offensive remarks, Revanth Reddy said he should go beyond mere condemnation and act by asking police to take action against Sarma.

T’gana Cong chief demands case against KTR for rally

1

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A. Revanth Reddy on Friday urged the Director General of Police (DGP) to book a case under the Disaster Management Act against state minister K.T. Rama Rao for organising a rally in Nalgonda.

Despite the ban on public meetings and rallies, a massive rally was organised in Nalgonda when state minister for industry and information technology Rama Rao visited the town to lay the foundation stone for IT Hub and take part in other programmes.

Revanth Reddy, who was placed under house arrest in Hyderabad to stop him from attending a protest programme at Bhupalapally, alleged that he was illegally detained citing Disaster Management Act and was stopped from visiting farmers while Rama Rao was allowed to take out a rally in Nalgonda.

Revanth Reddy, who is also a Member of Parliament, tweeted that this exposed the dual standards of Telangana police. He demanded DGP M. Mahender Reddy to immediately book a case under the same Act against Rama Rao.

KTR, as Rama Rao is popularly known, is son of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and working president of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).

Hundreds of TRS workers took out a huge rally to welcome KTR in Nalgonda. The party workers carrying party flags were riding two-wheelers and many of them were seen without masks.

Netizens criticised the ruling party for blatant violation of all Covid-19 regulations and the ban on rallies and public meetings. They questioned why the political parties were exempted when the police were imposing a penalty of Rs 1,000 on common man for not wearing face mask.

The state government had last week issued an order banning all rallies and public meetings till January 2 in view of the threat from Omicron, the new variant of Covid-19.

The DGP had on Thursday directed the police commissioners and district superintendents of police to strictly enforce the ban.

He had also asked the officers to create awareness among the people to follow the guidelines issued by the government like compulsory wearing of masks and maintaining social distance.

Now, Congress raking up “Telangana sentiment” against KCR

0

Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao could successfully bring TRS to power for two terms in 2014 and 2018 Assembly polls by raking up “Telangana sentiment”.

Now, the main opposition Congress is trying to rake up the same “Telangana sentiment” against KCR, to come back to power in December 2023 Assembly polls.

Congress leaders led by TPCC chief A.Revanth Reddy on Saturday (today) made a sudden visit to “Telangana Martyrs Memorial” which in under construction and located opposite to Secretariat.

After becoming CM in June 2014, KCR laid foundation for construction of Telangana Martyrs Memorial in June 2015 on the occasion of first anniversary of formation of Telangana state in memory of hundreds of Telangana martyrs who sacrificed their lives fighting for statehood for Telangana.

However, KCR failed to complete this structure even after more than six years but he could complete his palatial Pragathi Bhavan within two years.

Congress leaders are trying to rake up Telangana sentiment against KCR by accusing him of deliberately neglecting this structure and also awarding this contract to “Andhra contractor” to swindle public money by taking commissions.

Revanth said KCR launched the project with a cost of Rs 80 crore in 2017 but escalted the cost to Rs 180 now and this was done to benefit Andhra contractor and inturn KCR’s family taking commissions from Andhra contractor.

He said Telangana martyrs souls will not rest in peace as their memorial contract was awarded to Andhra contractor and Telangana CM KCR himself taking commissions from Andhra contractor under the guise of Telangana martyrs memorial.

Revanth demanded to conduct DNA test on KCR to detemine whether he really hails from Telangana or from Andhra region because no genuine Telangana person will resort to swindling of public money under the guise of Telangana martyrs memorial.

Komatireddy enjoys in Dubai as Cong struggles in Huzurabad!

0

Senior Congress leader and Bhongir Lok Sabha member Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has been staying away from Congress activities in Telangana ever since the party high command appointed A.Revanth Reddy as TPCC president in June this year.

Komatireddy is not coming to Gandhi Bhavan to take part in party meetings or attend any public meetings being held by Revanth Reddy against TRS government.

The Congress is struggling to retain even deposit in the Huzurabad bypoll let alone winning the seat.

At this stage, the party seniors are expected to work united and put up best efforts to see that the party saves its face at least by retaining deposit or get some reasonable chunk of votes.

In 2018 Assembly polls, Congress candidate Kaushik Reddy secured 60,000 votes. This time, it is expected that Congress will not secure even 6,000 votes out of 2.40 lakh votes in Huzurabad.

Revanth Reddy and other senior Congress leaders are struggling in Huzurabad to save the face of Congress by taking up hectic campaigning.

But Komatireddy left not only Huzurabad but also the state and the country. He flew down to Dubai to watch T20 world cup match between India and Pakistan on Sunday (today).

No one knows when Komatireddy returns from Dubai. The last date for campaigning in Huzurabad is November 27 and going by indications Komatireddy will arrive in Telangana only after November 27 to avoid campaigning.

Komatireddy is among the 20-star campaigners listed by Congress for Huzurabad bypoll. But the star campaigner is enjoying in Dubai watching cricket matches.

Congress too fields student leader for Huzurabad bypoll

1

The Congress party finally announced its candidate for Huzurabad Assembly bypoll to be held on October 30.

Although several names of seniors like Konda Surekha surfaced earlier, the party finally opted for a ‘student leader’ and also a ‘local leader’.

The Congress high command on Saturday (today) announced Balmoor Venkat as its candidate for Huzurabad bypoll.

Venkat is currently serving as president of Congress student wing NSUI (National Students Union of India) in Telangana.

The ruling TRS has also fielded its student wing TRSV president Gellu Srinivas Yadav as party candidate for Huzurabad bypoll.

Etela Rajender, who quit TRS to join BJP, is contesting as BJP candidate although the BJP is yet to officially announce his candidature.

Since TRS opted for a local Huzurabad leader and a student leader, the Congress too opted for Venkat, who is a student leader and local leader from Huzurabad.

Huzurabad bypoll is seen as a war between TRS and BJP and remains to be seen where Congress stands in this big battle between KCR and Etela Rajender.

Even if Congress retains the deposit in this election, it will be considered a victory in political circles.

Revanth Reddy is facing first election in Telangana after he took over TPCC chief and if Congress fails to secure deposit in Huzurabad, it will be a big setback for him.

T’gana Cong to launch agitatation against unemployment on Oct 2

0

The opposition Congress in Telangana announced on Wednesday that it will launch an agitation on October 2 to highlight the problem of unemployment in the state.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President A. Revanth Reddy said that ‘Vidyarthi Nirudyoga Jung Siren’ will be undertaken from October 2 to December 9.

As part of the 65-day-long agitation, protests will held in all the universities across the state. Reddy appealed to every student and unemployed persons to participate in the agitation.

He said the party would highlight how the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) ‘betrayed’ the students and the unemployed. He alleged that the TRS government led by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, popularly known as KCR, failed to fulfil the dreams of those students and youth who laid down their lives for the Telangana state.

Reddy recalled that in its election manifesto in 2014, the TRS had promised free education from KG to PG and a job for every household. He alleged that after coming to power, KCR shut down 4,368 primary schools in the remote areas of the state, which resulted in the poor getting deprived of education.

Reddy also claimed that the TRS government did not recruit teachers. The government is not releasing funds for fee reimbursement to students and as a result, the poor students are committing suicide.

He also held KCR responsible for the suicides of students.

He recalled that the Congress had introduced free reimbursement to make higher education accessible to the poor. He alleged that due to the negligence by KCR, the dues under fee reimbursement mounted to Rs 4,000 crore.

He pointed out that the TRS government did not even fulfil the promise of paying unemployment allowance, claiming that the government owes Rs 1 lakh to each of the 60 lakh unemployed people in the state.

Claiming that there are 1.9 lakh vacancies in government departments, Reddy said the number of vacancies has gone up as compared to when the Telangana state was formed in 2014.

The announcement of the protest programme came a day after the Election Commission of India declared the schedule for the by-election to the Huzurabad Assembly constituency.

The bypoll will be held on October 30 while the counting of votes will be taken up on November 2.

This will be the second protest programme to be undertaken by the Congress after Reddy took over as the state unit chief in July.

Earlier, the party had undertaken a ‘Dalit Girijan Atmagaurava Dandoora’ programme to highlight how the TRS government ‘betrayed’ Dalits and tribals by going back on the promises made to these sections.

Cong high command supports Revanth, warns seniors!

0

The Congress high command is learnt to be very angry at Telangana senior Congress party leaders who are creating hurdles and troubles for TPCC chief A.Revanth Reddy in discharging his duties.

The high command came in full support of Revanth Reddy and reportedly warned seniors of severe consequences if they fail to mend their ways.

The high command took a serious view of Sangareddy MLA Jagga Reddy’s open criticism before media against Revanth Reddy on Friday.

The high command asked AICC Telangana affairs in-charge Manickam Tagore to rush to Hyderabad on Saturday (today) and convey the high command’s message to seniors clearly.

With this, Tagore is coming to Hyderabad today and holding a meeting in Gandhi Bhavan in the evening with seniors and ask them not to make any statements against Revanth in media that affect the party.

Tagore is holding Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting in Gandhi Bhavan today and asked all seniors to attend the meeting without fail.

Komatireddy brothers and Jagga Reddy are making public statements against Revanth while few other seniors are not cooperating with Revanth though not making adverse remarks against Revanth openly.

Komatireddy brothers are not visiting Gandhi Bhavan since Revanth was appointed as TPCC chief in protest.

It remains to be seen what Komatireddy brothers will do now as Tagore asked them to attend today’s meeting in Gandhi Bhavan without fail.

Seniors are gearing up to complain to Tagore against Revanth accusing him of running the party like his ‘private limited company’ and ignoring seniors and not taking them into confidence while planning any party programmes.

0

Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Munugodu MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy are staying away from “Gandhi Bhavan”, the headquarters of Telangana Congress in Nampally, Hyderabad.

In fact, Venkat Reddy has made a public statement that he will not step into Gandhi Bhavan after party high command appointed Revanth Reddy as new TPCC chief in June.

Though Rajagopal Reddy did not make such announcement, he too is making similar statements internally saying that he will not visit Gandhi Bhavan hereafter in protest against Revanth’s appointment as TPCC chief.

However, the party high command has now created a situation wherein Komatireddy brothers are forced to visit Gandhi Bhavan every week to attend the party’s Political Affairs Committee meeting.

The high command has constituted Political Affairs Committee with 16 members who include Komatireddy brothers.

While Manickam Tagore is the chairman of this committee Mohd Ali Shabbir is the convenor.

Venkat Reddy has levelled a serious allegation on Tagore of taking a huge sum as bribe to give TPCC chief post to Revanth Reddy.

Some Congress leaders alleged that Revanth purchased TPCC chief post for Rs 50 crore.

Now Komatireddy brothers have to attend PAC meetings every week in Gandhi Bhavan along with Tagore and Revanth Reddy.

Let us see what Komatireddy brothers will do now?
