The movie will release on June 3rd and will be a blockbuster for sure,” he said.

Nithin who is releasing the movie in AP and TS said, “I wish Venky Sir gives his F3 success to our Vikram releasing on June 3rd. Finally, Kamal Haasan delivered an emotional speech. “I came to Hyderabad forty years ago as a dance assistant for ANR’s Srimanthudu. I ate Telugu food since then. I got my biggest hit here. I am what I am today is not achieved all alone. I have a family of many who pushed me in that direction. The thirty-six films with Balachander are my Ph.D. I learned acting from him. Venky need not work hard if he does not want because of his background. But he worked really hard. He was supposed to do Marmayogi but both of us missed it. Sudhakar Reddy garu is a part of the Vikram family. I asked him to help us make history. The confidence is because of the love of the audience here. I thank every brother who came here for me. Lokesh has no one behind him when he came here and now he has everyone behind him. It is also with Anirudh. I am a fan of Good cinema. Just not Vikram, every film should work. Vikram is an action-packed high-octane film. Luckily no one got hurt. That is our first achievement of the director and the stunt team. Second single of Vikram-starrer ‘Mahaan’ released in four languages

Ahead of the premiere of the highly anticipated multi-lingual action thriller ‘Mahaan’, featuring Vikram and marking his 60th film in the industry, the creators shared the second single — ‘Evanda Enaku Custody’ (Tamil), ‘Yevvarra Manaki Custody’ (Telugu), ‘Ini Ee Life’ (in Malayalam) and Yavano Namage Custody (in Kannada).

After ‘Vikram’, Kamal Haasan all set to produce his 51st film

Leading actor and Tamil Nadu politician Kamal Haasan is all set to produce a yet-to-be-titled film in association with Sony Pictures Films India (SPFI), the Indian arm of Sony Pictures International Productions.

The film, which will mark the 51st production of Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI), and SPFI’s debut foray into Tamil cinema, will star Sivakarthikeyan in the leading role, and will be written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy.

Kamal Haasan said: “The power of a well-told story is transformative, and this story will move, uplift and inspire the audience in many ways. I am very proud to be collaborating with Sony Pictures Films India, actor Sivakarthikeyan and director Rajkumar Periasamy to bring this compelling story to the big screen.”

Actor Sivakarthikeyan said: “It’s a project filled with multiple emotions for me. Kamal Haasan sir is a master craftsman of Indian cinema. Infact, he’s an international icon living amidst us. To work on a project in which this iconic legend is the producer, itself is a great feeling for me. Sony Pictures Films India is again a global brand who have their humongous success tag right there along their name.”

He added: “I’m very happy to be working with them. And all this has become possible today, only due to my friend, director Rajkumar Periasamy and his script. First look of Kamal Haasan-starrer ‘Vikram’ released on his 67th b’day eve

The first look of director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s eagerly awaited action thriller ‘Vikram’, featuring Kamal Haasan in the lead, received an unprecedented response on Saturday, with more than 52,000 people liking the video on YouTube within minutes of its release.

The first look, released by the director and his team at exactly 6 p.m. on Saturday, a day ahead of the star-politician’s birthday, which is on November 7, features an action sequence where the actor is seen using a metallic shield to protect himself against intense gunfire inside a prison.

‘Vikram’ features music by Anirudh and Girish Gangadharan’s cinematography. Edited by Philomin Raj, the film’s art director is N. Sathees Kumar. The first look was released by the ‘Vikram’ team as part of the birthday celebrations of the actor, who turns 67 on November 7.

Director Kanagaraj, who posted the link to the first glance video on his Twitter account, wrote, “A small gift from me to you @ikamalhaasan sir. Happy Birthday Ulaganayagan.”

Vikram in Mani Ratnam’s ambitious, historical film?

Mani Ratnam’s ambitious project Ponniyin Selvan is finally taking off. He is planning to adopt Ponniyin Selvan, a historical novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy, written in Tamil. The novel is in five volumes, or about 2400 pages and it tells the story of Arulmozhivarman, who later became the Chola king Rajaraja Chola I.

There have been several attempts to create film adaptations of Ponniyin Selvan. In 1958, MGR announced the project and he even did casting for several of the roles but later dropped the project for unstated reasons. In 2012, Maniratnam attempted to film a complete adaptation of the novel, but had to shelve the project due to budget issues.

Now Maniratnam again started working on this project. It was earlier rumoured that Maniratnam planning to rope in Vijay, Simbu and Vikram for the period project. But latest reports suggest that Vikram has been finalised for the film. It is known news that Maniratnam has earlier worked with Vikram in Tamil and Hindi versions of Raavanan (Villain in Telugu).

The makers are yet to officially announce the project.

Chiyaan Vikram’s recent outing Sketch released in Tamil during Sankranthi and ended up as a decent box-office grosser. Though it was Sai Pallavi who was roped in to romance Vikram in the film, she was replaced with Tamannaah later. The makers did not disclose the real reasons for replacing the female lead and Tamannaah seemed fit in the assigned role. Sketch is gearing up for Telugu release soon and Vikram is currently busy promoting it. During his interaction, Vikram was asked about Tamannaah being replaced with Sai Pallavi.

Though Vikram did not disclose the reason, he revealed that Tamannaah is a better choice than Sai Pallavi. “Tamannaah was a perfect choice for the role of a Brahmin girl in the film and audience will fall in love with her role. Sai Pallavi was replaced due to several reasons” revealed Vikram. The actor’s comments irked Sai Pallavi’s fans as he confessed that Tamannaah was a better choice for the role.
