Megastar responds about targeting Koratala Siva

1

Megastar Chiranjeevi tasted the biggest-ever debacle with Acharya. He indirectly made some harsh comments against Koratala Siva and there are debates about the same on social media from the past few months. During the promotions of Waltair Veerayya, Megastar made comments about the working style of directors. He heaped praises on Bobby for his work. During a recent interview, Chiranjeevi responded about his previous comments. He clarified that he has not targeted Koratala Siva and his remarks had nothing to do with Koratala’s work.

“It was my general opinion about adopting the working style of Hollywood for our directors. I had no intention to target Koratala Siva and it was presented like that. Some of the Bollywood directors have adopted this style and I wish it would be soon seen in Telugu” told Megastar. Chiranjeevi turned out to be a target for NTR fans and he was trolled on Twitter. Megastar responded about targeting Koratala Siva. Koratala will work with NTR in his next and the pre-production work reached the final stages. The shoot of the film kick-starts in February and this pan-Indian film releases during summer 2024.

Acharya brings more troubles for Koratala Siva

Acharya starring Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan ended up as one of the biggest flops of Telugu cinema. The buyers have been demanding a refund as they lost big amounts. Koratala Siva who took the responsibility of the business has been pooling the funds. Chiranjeevi and Niranjan Reddy did their parts after the release. Koratala Siva sold off the non-theatrical rights for record prices and the payments are yet to be received by the director. Gemini TV acquired the satellite rights of the film for Rs 15 crores and the tv channel is yet to honor the payment. Koratala is waiting for the payment from Gemini TV to clear other dues.

Gemini TV is not ready to pay Rs 15 crores for the satellite deal. As the film received poor response and reviews, Gemini will have to struggle to recover its investment. They are not ready to buy the satellite rights and the channel has two options for Koratala: Sell off the satellite rights for another channel or revise the satellite deal for Rs 7.5 crores. Gemini TV wants their advance back if Koratala Siva wants to sell the satellite rights for a new channel. This turned out to be a new headache for Koratala Siva.

Acharya Ceeded issue settled

1

Last week, the distributors and exhibitors from the Ceeded region flocked to the office of Koratala Siva. They demanded a compensation for the losses incurred for Acharya. Koratala Siva and his team settled the issue by returning back the amount for some of the territories. The Ceeded issue is now settled for Rs 4.75 crores and the makers, Koratala Siva promised to pay back the amount in a month. The necessary documentation for the same has been done after which the buyers went back. The issue is now sorted out finally.

Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan returned back an amount to settle the losses of Acharya. The film’s producer Niranjan Reddy promised to bear the GST expenses which would be close to Rs 10 crores. Koratala Siva is responsible for the other losses as he handled the business. He is also working on the script of his next and the film has NTR in the lead role. The shoot is pushed as the final script is not ready. NTR too is eagerly waiting for the final narration.

It’s time for Koratala Siva to break the Silence

0

After Acharya ended up as a disaster, the team decided to bear the losses incurred by the distributors. Koratala Siva took the complete hold of the business and Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan walked out with their paycheques. A gossip portal published the news that some of the distributors rushed to Koratala Siva’s office about the compensation. Twitter was filled with tweets about the incident. Some of them trolled Megastar Chiranjeevi and the others trolled and targeted Koratala Siva. There is a huge confusion among the fans and the audience about what is happening behind the settlement.

Koratala Siva has been tight-lipped after the release of Acharya. He remained unavailable even to his close friends after Acharya bombed at the box-office. Chiranjeevi and Charan returned back Rs 10 crores and Niranjan Reddy decided to bear the GST expenses. It’s time for Koratala Siva to break the silence and settle the issue before his image gets tarnished further. If the issue gets settled completely, he can focus more on his next film with NTR which is a crucial one for Koratala Siva.

Acharya leaves Tollywood directors at a spot

1

Top director Koratala Siva handled the finances and the theatrical business of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Acharya apart from directing the film. After the film ended up as a massive dud, Koratala Siva was targeted and trolled. Koratala also involved in Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata and Chiranjeevi’s film directed by Bobby. Koratala Siva had to bear the major portion of the losses of Acharya and he had to return the losses borne by the distributors. With the debacle of Acharya, several directors are rethinking about involving in the finances and businesses of their projects.

Tollywood directors are also acquiring the theatrical deals for some of the territories and some others are holding a lion’s share in the profits by directly or indirectly involved in the business deals. After Acharya, most of the directors are worried and are keen to take their remuneration home instead of involving in the business of their projects. No names mentioned but several directors changed their plans after the release of Acharya. This would be a positive sign as the directors can stay focused on the content instead of getting deviated.

Ram Charan plans to compensate investors for poor BO earnings of ‘Acharya’

1

The recent ‘Acharya’, featuring megastar Chiranjeevi and his son Ram Charan, turned out to be a box office disaster.

Ram Charan is reportedly making up for the losses, as many investors who hoped for a blockbuster invested a lot of money and lost money.

Following the film’s lukewarm reception around the world, a distributor recently wrote Chiranjeevi an open letter requesting compensation for the losses.

Directed by Koratala Siva, ‘Acharya’ failed to impress, despite the fact that Telugu’s most-hyped father-son duo Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan appeared together on screen.

Furthermore, with Koratala Siva on board, the investors did not expect the film to be such a disaster.

The news that Ram Charan is planning to compensate a portion of the film’s losses has sparked hope among buyers and distributors, who have suffered huge losses.

Chiranjeevi, on the other hand, will be seen in ‘Godfather’, ‘Bholaa Shankar’, and a couple of other movies.

Chiranjeevi’s beautiful video for mom on Mother’s Day

0

On Mother’s Day, megastar Chiranjeevi, who recently appeared in ‘Acharya’, has uploaded a beautiful video of his mother Anjana Devi.

The ‘Daddy’ actor posted an emotional video to his social media accounts earlier on Sunday.

In it, he and his brothers Pawan Kalyan and Naga Babu greet their mother on the set of one of their movies and share a nice lunch.

The video has now gone viral on social media, as the ‘mega’ bond touches the hearts of their fans.

Chiranjeevi is now working on a number of films, including ‘Godfather’, ‘Bholaa Shankar’, ‘Chiru 154’, and others.

‘Acharya’ loss: Distributor writes letter to Chiranjeevi for help

1

A distributor named Rajgopal Bajaj has written to megastar Chiranjeevi, requesting that he compensate him for the significant losses caused by ‘Acharya.’

The distributor, who released the Koratala Siva directorial in one of the prime areas, claimed to have lost 75 per cent of the money invested, also pleading to compensate for the heavy losses thrown up by Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan-starrer ‘Acharya’.

Because of the buzz surrounding the Chiru-Ram Charan film, Bajaj had paid a premium to Warangal Srinu, a well-known distributor, to acquire distribution rights for the Raichur district, Karnataka.

In his letter to the ‘Indra’ actor, he stated that the distributors of ‘Acharya’ are distraught over the film’s lukewarm reception.

“I am now deeply in debt,” he added.

The letter may not be representative of the overall situation, but it is undeniable that ‘Acharya’ distributors have suffered losses of up to 60 per cent almost everywhere.

The distributor is looking forward to Chiranjeevi’s response, as the film is expected to have a happy ending.

Exclusive: NTR and Koratala Siva meeting about Acharya

Koratala Siva tasted the biggest ever debacle with Acharya and the weekdays’ numbers are just shocking. The distributors lost more than 60 percent of the investment. Koratala Siva handled the distribution deals and he will be responsible for the compensation. Koratala Siva will soon work with NTR and the film was scheduled to commence in June. Koratala Siva met NTR recently and the top actor wanted Koratala to clear all the hurdles of Acharya.

An official announcement of NTR30 will be made on May 20th on the occasion of NTR’s birthday. Koratala Siva called all the distributors and a meeting is planned soon. Not what the script said: Poor scripts lead to string of Tollywood failures after ‘Pushpa’, ‘RRR’

0

Big stars, eminent directors and big budgets can’t guarantee success of a film and this has been proved by a string of failures in Tollywood after the smashing success of ‘Pushpa’.

Big stars, eminent directors and big budgets can’t guarantee success of a film and this has been proved by a string of failures in Tollywood after the smashing success of ‘Pushpa’.

The last four months saw several eagerly awaited movies hitting the screen but barring S.S. Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ starring Junior NTR and Ram Charan, others either bombed at the box-office or registered average success.

Chiranjeevi, arguably the biggest name in Tollywood, could not guarantee a great opening for ‘Acharya’.

Starring megastar Chiranjeevi in the lead and his son Ram Charan in an extended cameo, the movie directed by Koratala Siva was released on April 29 to a lukewarm response at the box office. Negative reviews saw a huge drop in the movie’s collection in the first four days.

It disappointed even in Telugu states. In Andhra Pradesh it opened to increased ticket prices for the first week as per the policy of the state government for big-budget movies. However, so poor is the performance of ‘Acharya’ that trade analysts believe its business may end within this week.

Despite the hype around the movie due to the presence of the father-son duo and a large number of their fans thronging theatres in the first week-end, it failed to live up to the expectations.

Those who track Tollywood say that Acharya could end up as one of the biggest disasters of 2022.

A cliched story and dated narrative without effective emotions resulted in the huge disappointment for Chiranjeevi’s fans who had high expectations with this maiden collaboration between megastar and successful director Koratala Siva.

This was the second famous father-son duo to flop at the box-office. Earlier, this year ‘Bangarraju’ starring Nagarjuna and his son Naga Chaitanya came as a disappointment. While their fans were excited to see them together on the screen, this could not save the movie based on a done and dusted script of a supernatural drama. Kalyan Krishna made this as a sequel to ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ (2016) which starred Nagarjuna in a dual role and was commercially successful.

Another big disaster this year is ‘Radhe Shyam’ starring Baahubali fame Prabhas in the lead. The multi-lingual period romantic drama failed to live up to the high expectations.

Starring Prabhas in the role of a world-famous palmist, ‘Radhe Shyam’ in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil had hit the screens on March 11. Despite stunning visuals, grand outdoors, visual effects, romance and good music, the movie bombed due to cliched story.

‘Bheemla Nayak’ starring Pawan Kalyan and ‘Baahubali’ fame Daggubati Rana was another much-anticipated movie to hit the screens in February.

It was a Telugu remake of ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ (2020), a Malayalam language action thriller. Unlike ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’, which was about clash of egos between two men, it was Pawan Kalyan who dominated ‘Bheemla Nayak’. Rana’s role was played down to allow power star, as the brother of Chiranjeevi is popularly known in film circles, take the centre stage.

Romantic comedy ‘DJ Tillu’ starring young actor Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Neha Shetty in the lead also did average business.

Leading actor Ravi Teja starrer ‘Khiladi’ turned out to be a flop. Released theatrically along with a Hindi dubbed version on February 11 this movie, written and directed by Ramesh Varma.

Industry analysts say poor script is the main reason for many Telugu films bombing at the box office after the grand success of ‘Pushpa’. “The strength of the script makes a film successful. If somebody comes with a loose script and uninteresting script, automatically the film flops. No matter how big a star is and how good a director is, it all depends on the strength of the script. Nobody can save a film if the script is poor,” says film analyst Prabhu.

He believes that a film can succeed only if the script makes the audience sit in theatres without losing their attention.

The film critic, however, adds that a subject a filmmaker chooses is not the entire story. “Whatever line you take, it needs to have some interesting scenes. 10-15 interesting scenes elevate a movie. Lack of strength in the scenes is the main cause of failure. There are no other reasons because the filmmaking standards are very high, wonderful and far ahead,” he opined.

The expert says one can’t blame artists for a film’s failure as all stars are proven artists. It all depends on the script and character an artist gets.

“We can’t blame artists. Actor is like water which takes the shape of a vessel. It all depends on the capability of the director, how best he moulds the character and how best he creates interest in the character,” he said.

According to Prabhu, even ‘Pushpa’ did not have a great script but the way Allu Arjun inculcated the strength, the density of character, a rough and tough wild character and his mannerism helped. “This film has highlighted the smuggler’s character and glorified it. This shows the film does well even if the bad character is portrayed in an intensive and interesting manner,” he added.

A hat-trick of flops for Pooja Hegde

0

After scoring back-to-back hits, Pooja Hegde was in huge demand and she signed a bunch of films. She is the leading lady in Prabhas’ romantic saga Radhe Shyam and the film ended up as one of the biggest disasters in Indian cinema. Pooja Hegde also made her comeback with Beast in Tamil which featured Vijay in the lead role. The film too ended up as a disappointment and Pooja Hegde had all her hopes on Acharya that released on Friday.

Pooja Hegde was paired up beside Ram Charan in this mass entertainer. Acharya too ended up as the biggest flop in the recent times. Pooja Hegde delivered three flops in less than two months. The actress is paired up beside Mahesh Babu in Trivikram’s film and she has high hopes on the film. Apart from this, she sizzled in a special song in Venkatesh and Varun Tej starrer F3. The actress is also a part of several big-budget films in Hindi and she is keen on a strong comeback soon.

Acharya building on Family audience

0

After many delays, Megastar Chiranjeevi and Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s ‘Acharya’ finally hit the big screens yesterday. Mega fans are overjoyed to see both Father and Son on the same screen for the first time in a long time.

Acharya’s movie received mixed reviews, although general audience word-of-mouth appeared to be positive. There are numerous scenes that the audience genuinely enjoys. Until the evening, it was clear that the talk was improving, as family audiences began watching the evening shows for their favourite hero.

Acharya is directed by blockbuster director Koratala Siva. Niranjan Reddy and Anvesh Reddy have produced Acharya under Matinee Entertainments banner.

Megastar fails to break the myth of SS Rajamouli

1

During the pre-release event of Acharya, Megastar Chiranjeevi reminded the audience about the myth of the actors who worked with SS Rajamouli. None of the next films of the stars who worked with SS Rajamouli ended up as hits. Chiranjeevi sounded extremely confident and said that Acharya would break the myth and will end up as a blockbuster. But in an unexpected shock, Acharya opened to poor response and the audience rejected the film.

Even the hardcore Mega fans were left disappointed with Acharya. Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan together could not make Acharya an impressive one because of the outdated narration and an uninteresting script. Acharya is directed by Koratala Siva and it is an action drama that presents Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan as Naxalites. Matinee Entertainments and Konidela Production Company are the producers of Acharya.
