Top and talented actress Anushka Shetty has been quite selective with her films. Her last movie Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty ended up as a decent hit at the Telugu box-office. The actress signed a women-centric film directed by Krish. Couple of schedules for the film have been completed recently. The actress today joined the sets of her first Malayalam film that is titled Kathanar – The Wild Sorcerer. The picture of Anushka from the sets of the film is going viral all over. The actress received a warm welcome from the team.

Rojin Thomas is the director of the film. “Honoured to collaborate with the exceptional Anushka Shetty on our Kathanar’s cinematic journey! #dreamcast #kathanarthewildsorcerer #dreegokulammovies” posted the director along with the click. The first schedule of the film was completed without Anushka and the actress joined the sets. The film is based on Kadamattathu Kathanar, a priest in Kerala. Sree Gokulam Movies are the producers and Kathanar – The Wild Sorcerer releases next year.

One of South India’s top actresses, Anushka Shetty, on Thursday celebrated the completion of 17 years in film industry.

The actress, who has delivered blockbusters in both Tamil and Telugu, including ‘Baahubali’, ‘Deiva Thirumagal’, ‘Arundhati’, ‘Chintakayala Ravi’, ‘Vikramarkudu’ and ‘Singam’, took to Twitter to share her joy.

Posting pictures of the cake she cut on the sets of her upcoming film, whose working title is #UV14, to celebrate the milestone, Anushka wrote, “Seventeen years of much love and constant support from the film industry, family and well-wishers. All who take out of your lives to be a part of mine — a big thank you from the bottom of my heart. My fans — words always fall short for your unconditional love and surprises, which mean a lot.”

Actor Naveen Polishetty, who is also a part of Anushka’s next film, tweeted a picture of the cake he had presented to the actress to celebrate the occasion.

He wrote: “Bribed Ms Anushka Shetty with cake. “Ee 17 years lo nene best co star anta :P” (I am her best co-star in these 17 years it seems). Congrats on an awesome journey so far. Our shoot has been going on guys. And it’s mad fun! Malli UV Creations router off ‘chese lopala’ update ‘ichesa’! (Before UV Creations switches off the router again, I have given you an update!).”

Actress Anushka Shetty, who was a yoga instructor before going on to become one of the top actresses in the Tamil and Telugu film industries, on Tuesday shared a deep, philosophical post on yoga, life and happiness even as she wished all her followers a happy Yoga Day.

Anushka Shetty has been away from work for the past three years. The actress is all set to make her comeback and the film will be directed by P Mahesh. Naveen Polishetty is the other lead actor in this interesting attempt. As per the update, Anushka essays the role of an international chef in the film. She loved the role and signed the film immediately. This untitled flick would be an interesting attempt. Naveen essays the role of a software engineer who tries his hands on standup comedy.

The first schedule of the film took place this month and Anushka joins the sets in May. UV Creations are bankrolling this interesting film. Anushka has been trying hard to cut down her weight but the actress could not lose much weight. The terrific actress still enjoys stardom despite being absent in the recent years. Anushka also has plans to make her debut in the digital space and her first project will be announced soon.
