No actor can do what NTR did to Komaram Bheem: Rajamouli

Even days after the release of RRR, ace filmmaker S S Rajamouli just can’t stop raving about NTR Junior, one of the two protagonists of the movie.

“I would really say there is no other actor on the Indian screen who can do what Tarak did in Komaram Bheem,” the director has said in a video interaction.

Heaping more laurels on NTR, he said, “Showing pain, showing betrayal, showing subjugation to the motherland, but not even batting an eyelid at the oppressor. Not just showing all these emotions, but showing all these emotions in one shot, in one frame. That is like an epic.”

RRR is running successfully all over the world and cinema halls are witnessing housefull shows. The film hit the screens across the world in multiple languages on March 25, 2022.

The movie produced by DVV Entertainment has Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt and Olivia Morris while Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, Ray Stevenson and Shriya Saran playing supporting roles. The film has musical score by M M Keeravani.

Jr NTR completes 25 years in Telugu film industry

‘RRR’ actor Jr NTR, who shone as Komaram Bheem, has completed 25 years in the Telugu film industry.

April 11 marks the 25th anniversary of Jr NTR’s first movie ‘Ramayanam’, better known as ‘Bala Ramayanam’.

Jr NTR had made his debut as a child actor with ‘Bala Ramayanam’, which was released on this date in 1997. NTR, who was a classical dancer, had grabbed the attention of the casting team, who had him on board to essay the role of Rama.

‘Shakuntalam’ director Gunasekhar wielded the megaphone for this mythological drama which showcased Jr NTR as Lord Rama.

The film had bagged two Nandi Awards – Best Children Film (Gold) and Best Child Actress (Swathi as Ravana) in 1998. Featuring more than 3,000 children, ‘Bala Ramayanam’ was produced under Shabdhalaya Theaters.

With an illustrious career of 25 years, Jr NTR has worked in over 30 films, some of which are blockbuster hits. His career is replete with massive hits such as ‘Aadi’, ‘Simhadri’, ‘Temper’, ‘Janatha Garage’ and ‘Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava’.

‘RRR’, which marks S.S. Rajamouli’s fourth collaboration with Jr NTR, is the actor’s first pan-India movie. Known for his multi-linguistic approach, Jr NTR will be next seen in ‘NTR30’ directed by Koratala Siva. He will also be starring in Prashanth Neel’s upcoming directorial.

RRR has another good weekend in the Telugu States as the film collected a distributor share of 9.5 Cr taking 17 days total to 252 Cr. The distributors have been given GST input (excluding Krishna district) and all deals are now outright.

Including the GST input, Nizam, Ceded, UA and Nellore are in the profit zone while the remaining areas are yet to achieve the breakeven mark. The film can have another good 4-day extended weekend depending on the number of theatres it will hold as it will be facing competition from Beast, KGF2.

Prashanth Neel says he is NTR fan for 20 years

With just a few days left for the release of his highly anticipated KGF-2, director Prashanth Neel has spoken about his forthcoming film with NTR Junior during media interactions.

Now being called as NTR31, the big budget movie will be bankrolled by NTR Arts and Mythri Movie Makers. “I have been a fan of Jr. NTR for last 20 years; He has liked my story. I am super excited about the film,” revealed Prashanth Neel.

Stating he was not ready to reveal the genre of the movie “because it’s far off at the moment,” Prashanth went on to add: We have met 10 to 15 times just casually before we even started script work. I wanted to understand him a little more and that’s my process with all my actors.

Giving more details, he said, “It has been a great journey with NTR. We have become close friends over the last 2 years. He liked the story that I have written and we are working on it right now.” He also said he will discuss NTR film in detail closer to the release of Salaar.

NTR’s strict deadline for Koratala Siva

NTR had to spend close to four years for RRR and the film is doing fantastic business all over. The top actor decided to work without breaks and he is working on multiple projects. His next film will be directed by Koratala Siva and the shoot commences in June. The scriptwork is locked and NTR is on a weight loss mission for now. The actor wanted Koratala Siva to complete the shoot of the film in quick schedules and NTR allocated 70 days for his work. Koratala Siva too is keen on completing the film quickly and he agreed to the deal.

Alia Bhatt is the leading lady and Anirudh is the music director. Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts will jointly produce this mass and action entertainer. The film’s release date will be announced soon. NTR is also in talks with Prashanth Neel, Anil Ravipudi and Buchi Babu for his upcoming projects. The top actor will announce the lineup of films soon.

Ram Charan clarifies on dominating NTR in RRR

There are debates about the roles of NTR and Ram Charan ever since RRR released. Though Rajamouli balanced the roles and heroism of Ram and Bheem, some of them felt that Charan had a better role than NTR. Some of them told that NTR carried the entire film on his shoulders dominating Charan. During the media interaction in Mumbai, a journalist said that Ram Charan walked away with all the accolades. Soon Charan responded saying that it is not true.

“I don’t believe that at all. Not even for a second. We both have excelled beautifully and Tarak was fantastic. I don’t think I have enjoyed working in any other film in my career and what I will take back from RRR is my journey with Tarak. Thank you Rajamouli garu for the opportunity” told Charan. The video is now viral on social media. Both Ram Charan and NTR wished to work together in the sequel of RRR if it happens. Pen Studios arranged a success bash last night in Mumbai and the team attended the bash.

Honoured to work with NTR says Olivia Morris

British actress Olivia Morris played an important role as Jennifer in RRR and she was the love interest of NTR in the periodic drama. The actress looked lovely on-screen and she did her best for the film. During one of her recent interviews, the British actress heaped praises on NTR. She called it a honour to work with NTR Jr who is a single-take artist. She even said that it was lovely to work with him. “Every time I was nervous on the set, NTR came up with a smile. I used to smile back. He is just incredible and consistent. It is a honour to work with NTR” told the actress.

Olivia Morris shot for the film in Hyderabad and the actress said that she could not explore the city much. She shot for RRR for 20 days in India. She said that everyone helped her and supported on the sets of the film. She called Rajamouli an amazing director. RRR is the biggest hit of Indian cinema in the recent times and NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris played the key roles in this periodic action drama.

RRR has a good hold on second Monday in the Telugu States as the film has collected a share of 5Cr. Total share of the film now stands at 233.7 Cr approx. Ticket rates are back to normal all over the Telugu States and that has helped the film to garner better footfalls when compared to friday which also had the advantage of holiday eve. Reduction in ticket rates doesn’t mean the rents will come down and that will affect the share of the film especially in B,C centres where ticket rates are much lesser now. Now the film needs to holds with normal drop day by day unlike in the first week where it had significant drops day by day.

Buchi Babu’s Film haunting NTR

Young Tiger NTR is on a break and he will commence the shoot of Koratala Siva’s film in June. The actor has been in talks with Uppena fame Buchi Babu for a sports drama. The inside talk is that NTR is completely impressed with the idea and the narration of Buchi Babu. The film is reportedly titled Peddi and is set in the backdrop of Kabaddi. The lead actor plays a physically challenged person in the film and this is haunting NTR. The top actor is worried if the audience and his fans will accept him in such a role. Buchi Babu is not in a mood to change the crucial portion which happens to be the heart of the film.

Tarak too felt that the portion should not be changed and he is not in a mood to lose the project. After the release of RRR, all the upcoming projects of NTR will head for a pan-Indian release. The actor is now confused to pick up Peddi at this time in his career. Mythri Movie Makers are on the board to produce the film. For now, NTR will have enough time to take the final call on the project. Peddi is expected to start early next year once NTR completes Koratala Siva’s film.

Revised ticket pricing for RRR

RRR had an exceptional second weekend all over and the film minted huge money in all the territories of its release. The makers applied for flexible ticket pricing across the Telugu states and the governments granted ticket hike for ten days. With the second weekend coming to an end, the distributors of the Telugu states revised and slashed the ticket prices from today. In Telangana, RRR tickets are sold for Rs 295 (multiplexes), Rs 350 (recliners) and Rs 175 (single screens).

In Andhra Pradesh, the tickets are sold for Rs 150 (single screens), Rs 175 and Rs200 (multiplexes) and Rs 250 (recliners). This would be a good move as the film will have repeat audience because of the slashed prices. RRR is expected to do decent business in the third week. The number of screens and shows across the Telugu states are restricted from today. RRR is directed by SS Rajamouli and the film featured Ram Charan, NTR, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt and Olivia Morris.

RRR has another excellent day in the Telugu States as the film has collected a distributor share of 16.20 Cr. Total share of the film now goes past 229Cr. The film has shown just 20% drop from the Ugadi day which is quite good and better than expected. Real test for the film starts from today with ticket prices coming down in both the Telugu States and that should actually help the film to have better occupancies. The film is yet to achieve breakeven in many areas of A.P and it needs a good run of 1 week atleast.

Ever since the magnum opus ‘RRR’ hit the screens, there is a lot of discussion regarding the lead actors.

Despite unanimous hit talk, comments on Twitter and other social media sites suggest that most of the NTR fans aren’t quite happy with his low-key role in the second half of the movie.

NTR, who had an interaction with the media post-release of ‘RRR’ was quizzed him playing a role with a lesser importance.

“I always maintained and am aware of the fact that Rajamouli has given equal importance to both Ram and Bheem roles”, NTR said.

Adding further, NTR conveyed, “No insecurities involved. We both complimented each other beautifully. While there are scenes elevating one hero at one time, Rajamouli had placed another elevation scene for the other.”

While Telugu Twitter is filled with non-stop discussions and comparisons, Ram Charan and NTR have already conveyed that they are lucky to be a part of such a visual grandeur.

Even during promotions, Ram Charan had stated that he wanted to swap NTR’s role with his role, which denotes that both were given equal importance in the movie, under the competitive ambience.

So, NTR’s role being low-key when compared to that of Ram Charan’s in ‘RRR’ is just a part of discussions, but the actors are actually happy with the output regarding their individual roles.

Update on RRR Digital Release

There is a drastic change in the theatrical run of Indian films. Most of the theatrical revenue is recovered in its first week and the films are getting streamed on OTT platforms in less than a month from the theatrical release date. RRR which is the biggest ever Indian film in the recent times is having a dream run at the theatrical windows. There are discussions about the digital release of the film. The makers earlier clarified that there would be ample time between the theatrical and the digital release.

RRR will now stream on various digital platforms only ten weeks from the theatrical release date. Movies like Pushpa are streamed in a month and some of them had their digital streaming in 4-6 weeks. But the makers of RRR made sure that the film will have a long theatrical run. The plan for pay-per-view model is chalked out. The date would be locked and will be announced soon.

RRR has a very good hold on the second Friday in the Telugu States as the film has collected a distributor share of 8.60 Cr. Total share if the film is now past 193 Cr. The collections are higher than Thursday as the holiday eve has helped the film during evening and second shows. Also few extra theatres are removed reducing rentals a bit compared to Thursday. The film is now looking score huge today with a possibility of 14-15 cr share. It will beat Baahubali2 share(198.75 Cr) in the Telugu States today and will become the first film to collect 200 Cr share in the Telugu States.

RRR has a very good first week in the Telugu States with a distributor share of 184.60 Cr. The film has created a new record with a huge 67 Cr margin. Baahubali2 had collected 117.50 cr earlier. The film will now beat Baahubali2 lifetime share (199 Cr) by the end of tomorrow. It has created first-week records in 7 out of 8 areas with East Godavari (Baahubali2) being missed. Coming to the film’s performance on Weekdays it has done well in Nizam but the occupancies of the A.P state are a bit alarming after Monday. The numbers are there due to the ticket prices but occupancies are a bit low. Also playing on many screens is one of the reasons for less share because of the rentals. Distributors will hold the screens till the end of Sunday as tomorrow and the Day after are bound to be huge.

Top director Trivikram scored his career’s biggest hit with Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and he will direct Superstar Mahesh Babu in his next film that will commence shoot soon. With all the top actors lining up back-to-back films, top directors too are working on multiple scripts and are signing them. Trivikram met two top actors NTR and Allu Arjun recently to discuss about collaborating with them separately. Trivikram had a patch-up with NTR and the top actor is ready to work with Trivikram very soon.

Based on the current projects and the shooting schedules of the upcoming projects of NTR and Allu Arjun, Trivikram will take the final call on his next. For now, both Allu Arjun and Tarak are ready to work with Trivikram. The top director locked the scripts of both these projects for now. He is keen to complete the shoot and the post-production work of Mahesh Babu’s film before the end of 2022 and he will kick-start his next film next year. NTR has films with Koratala Siva, Prashanth Neel and Buchi Babu for now. He is in talks with Anil Ravipudi for a film.

Allu Arjun has Sukumar’s Pushpa: The Rule and he is in talks with Atlee and Boyapati Srinu. Trivikram is keen to work with these two top Tollywood actors very soon as per their availability. Things will be finalized in the coming months.

NTR and Ram Charan are celebrating the super success of RRR directed by SS Rajamouli. NTR interacted with the national media and revealed several facts during the film’s shoot. He also explained the amount of hard work he kept for the film and about Rajamouli’s vision and perfection. Here are the highlights from his recent interactions:

“My career will be defined as before RRR and after RRR. Bheem is a guy with brutal strength who is innocent and is the King of the Forest. I was stunned by the reaction of the audience that were recorded and kept on Youtube about my episode with animals. I was like damn. I was like how can Rajamouli do it and how can he catch the pulses of the audience exactly. The audience are different but Rajamouli brings everyone together. We are responsible as actors and we have so much fear to deliver our best. RRR might cross Baahubali and I have no idea. It gives immense strength and courage to bring out better and bigger content” told NTR

“There are at times when I used to ask Rajamouli about how many times more do I need to do a shot and wanted it to be corrected in CG. He was like CG? He is a perfectionist. Rajamouli explained my introduction episode with the tiger in detail. Things become for an actor to imagine and deliver after the detail given by the director. He did not show the film before the release” told NTR.

Young Tiger NTR gained a muscular body for his role as Komaram Bheem in RRR. The actor looked quite bulky during the promotions of RRR. He is on a break and he will start the shoot of his 30th film in the direction of Koratala Siva in June. Before this, NTR will cut down his weight and he will be seen in a lean and stylish look for Koratala’s project. Tarak fixed a target to cut down 8 kgs for the role. He started working out under the supervision of a fitness trainer.

Tarak has three complete months’ time before he commences the shoot of Koratala Siva’s film and he is keen to return back in a lean and stylish look. Tarak will also take a small break and he will head for a foreign vacation with his family members in summer. Alia Bhatt is the leading lady and Yuvasudha Arts, NTR Arts will produce this project. NTR is also in talks with Buchi Babu and the project too will commence shoot this year. NTR is also holding talks with Anil Ravipudi and the film will roll once NTR is done with the shoot of his current projects.

Key updates on NTR and Koratala Siva’s Film

Young Tiger NTR interacted with the media personnel today to thank the country for the humongous success of RRR. During the interaction when asked about future projects, NTR said that he would work with Koratala Siva in his 30th film and the shoot commences in June. NTR said that he would start working on the project though there is ample time for the shoot to start. NTR will also work on the looks and he will cut down his weight for the film.

The discussions about the final script are happening between NTR and Koratala Siva. The film is said to be an intense action entertainer and Alia Bhatt is the leading lady. Anirudh will compose the music and background score. NTR Arts and Yuvasudha Arts are the producers. This untitled film is expected to release next year and it would be a pan-Indian attempt. NTR during his media interaction said that he is all excited to work with Koratala Siva and this is their second collaboration after Janatha Garage.
