Fear of losing power haunting Jagan, says Kanna

1

As the fear of losing power is haunting Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, he has been stooping so low and resorting to personal criticism of the leaders from various Opposition parties, said former minister and TDP leader, Kanna Laxminarayana, on Saturday.

The condition of Jagan is so bad that except resorting to personal attacks on the leaders of Opposition parties, he could not claim that he has done something great for the State, remarked Kanna Laxminarayana while talking to media persons at the party headquarters. Jagan, who exploited his mother and own sister, shamelessly finding fault with others, the former minister said.

The Chief Minister is misusing the platforms of public meetings organised with public funds, he said. Is it not a fact that those who are now sailing with Jagan had earlier pointed fingers at him when his father, late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy, was the chief minister, Kanna Laxminarayana asked.

The Chief Minister is using highly objectionable language in the public meetings against women, farmers, students and even kids, he said. There are no instances of Jagan coming to the rescue of the farming community though the farmers are incurring heavy losses in agriculture, the TDP leader said.

Never in the past four years has the Chief Minister extended a helping hand to the farmers of tobacco, chilli and other commercial crops though they have been facing troubles due to lack of minimum support price, Kanna Laxminarayana observed. The Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues are simply looting the State and all of them are scared of facing the public with a fear of being questioned, he said.

Kanna Laximinarayana demanded Jagan to come out with facts on what he has done to the State and people before approaching the public for votes. The people are eagerly waiting for an opportunity to send Jagan home, he added.

Kanna joins opposition TDP, Naidu welcomes

1

Former minister Kanna Lakshminarayana joined the opposition TDP at the party’s state headquarters at Mangalagiri in Guntur district on Thursday. Accompanied by hundreds of his supporters, Kanna reached the party office in the post-lunch session.

Party chief and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu welcomed the former minister into the party. He said Kanna’s entry would help strengthen the party and it was a good sign of the party’s victory in the days to come.

Chandrababu Naidu said that Kanna was a strong leader who had won as MLA for five times and was a minister for two terms.

Kanna Lakshminarayana thanked Chandrababu Naidu for welcoming him into the party. He said that he would do his best to bring the party to power in the next elections.

After quitting the Congress, Kanna Lakshminarayana joined the BJP and became the party’s state unit president. He was succeeded by Somu Veerraju as the party state unit president, much to his discomfort, leading to his resignation to the party and joining the TDP.

Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu is said to have called former MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, in Guntur before taking Kanna into the party. Both Kanna and Rayapati have been rivals for decades even in the Congress.

Chandrababu Naidu tried to pacify both the groups and wanted them to work together in the larger interests of defeating the YSR Congress. He told them that every democratic loving person should come together keeping aside personal interest and work to defeat Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Chandrababu Naidu emphasised the need for unity among all opposition parties and leaders. He underscored the need to defeat the YSR Congress and restore democracy in the state.

Kanna quits BJP to join Jana Sena soon!

1

Former minister and BJP State unit former president Kanna Lakshminarayana had sent his resignation to the party leadership on Thursday. A Congress leader and a staunch follower of late Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga Rao, Kanna Lakshminarayana, joined the BJP before the 2019 general election.

Though he had prepared the ground to join the YSR Congress, for reasons known to him, he joined the BJP at the last minute. Then he became the state unit president of the party, till he was replaced with Somu Veerraju a year ago.

Kanna, a staunch critic of Chandrababu Naidu and a staunch opponent of Rayapati Sambasiva Rao in Guntur district politics, is now all praise for Naidu. He also praised Naidu for doing some good things for the Kapu community when he was the chief minister.

His exit and his joining the Jana Sena is set to be a disaster for the BJP in the state, particularly ahead of the 2024 general election. The BJP leadership has set its eyes on the Kapu community though it is currently aligned with the Jana Sena.

BJP MP, GVL Narasimha Rao went one step further and demanded that NTR district or Krishna district be named after late Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga Rao. This was to win the hearts of the Kapus in the Godavari districts.

While the BJP wants to make inroads into the Kapu community to get the political advantage, the exit of Kanna Lakshminarayana, will certainly disturb their efforts. If Kanna joins the YSR Congress and favours alliance with the TDP, it is to be seen what move that the BJP would make in the next election.

Kanna to quit BJP, join Jana Sena on Jan 28

0

Former minister Kanna Lakshminarayana from Guntur is scheduled to quit the BJP to join the Jana Sena, if the talk in the political circles is to be believed. The former minister had also set January 28 as the date to join the Jana Sena in the presence of Pawan Kalyan.

Kanna Lakshminarayana, a loyalist of late Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga Rao, was the lieutenant to Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and was a strong critic of TDP. However, after the state was bifurcated, he made arrangements to join the YSR Congress before the 2019 general election.

Shockingly, he deferred joining the YSR Congress and went into the fold of the BJP, where he was subsequently made the AP unit president. After one year in the office, Kanna tried to build the BJP in the state using his political connections.

For some time, he had been inactive in BJP and is said to be looking at the TDP and Jana Sena. It did not take much time for Kanna to decide on his next move and he finally zeroed in on Jana Sena.

In the last three years, several leaders have left Pawan Kalyan while Nadendla Manohar remained the sole trusted lieutenant. Manohar has been the only trusted lieutenant of Pawan Kalyan and is the second in command in the party.

It is to be seen what political developments would take place in the relationship between the BJP and the Jana Sena once Kanna Lakshminarayana joins the Jana Sena. It is known that the Jana Sena is in alliance with the BJP and would not be easy to maintain the same relationship if Jana Sena takes Ambedkar.

It is also quite interesting to see Kanna Lakshminarayana, a strong critic of Chandrababu Naidu to be now in the Jana Sena, at a time when TDP and Jana Sena are trying for alliance!

Kanna may quit BJP, likely to join Pawan

1

Former minister and senior BJP leader Kanna Lakshminarayana is likely to join the Jana Sena quitting the BJP. If his words are any indication, he is all set to leave the BJP in the days to come and would go to the Jana Sena.

In fact, three years down the line, Kanna planned everything to join the YSR Congress. But, on the day, he reported sick and skipped the joining ceremony. A few days later, he joined the BJP and went on to become its president in Andhra Pradesh.

However, now after being replaced by MLC Somu Veerraju, the former minister and the former Congress leader is not happy in the saffron team. At one point of time, he tried to join the TDP, though Naidu had been his long-time rival.

He is now moving close to the Jana Sena invoking the Kapu sentiment. While there is nothing for him to gain through the Jana Sena, it is Pawan Kalyan who would be benefited by the entry of Kanna Lakshminarayana.

Kanna has strong links with the Kapu leaders in the state and would be able to muster support for the Jana Sena in the 2024 general election. He is also close to the Kapu icon Mudragada Padmanabham, who emerged as champion of the community over the years.

Kanna was also a close associate of late Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga Rao, who became champion of the community and is admired even today in Andhra Pradesh. Kanna had openly criticised Veerraju for changing the presidents of the BJP district units in the state. He said that the new BJP leadership was targeting his supporters in the party and felt that the party would suffer if all these leaders leave the party ahead of the general election.

Kanna’s daughter-in-law dies in suspicious circumstances

1

Tragedy struck BJP state president Kanna Laxminarayana’s family. In a shocking incident, the BJP president’s daughter-in-law on Thursday died in mysterious circumstances.

According to the police, Suharika attended a party organised at the friend’s house and after dancing for some time, she suddenly collapsed. Kanna demands gas leak probe by a sitting judge

1

BJP AP President Kanna Lakshminarayana called on victim’s of the Vizag toxic gas leak. He wished a speedy recovery to the injured. He enquired from the survivors about their health and treatment at KGH Hospital. Later, Kanna welcomed the steps being taken by the YSRCP Government to give compensation to the victims.

At the same time, Kanna demanded that a sitting judge of the AP High Court should probe the gas tragedy so as to identify the guilty people behind it. Only then, it would be possible to give proper punishment to the really responsible people for the killer gas leak. It may be recalled that since the beginning, the BJP leaders have been welcoming the Jaganmohan Reddy government’s immediate compensation announced for victims. However, they have been urging for a detailed probe into the tragedy. AP High Court has already taken up leakage as public interest litigation. Now, Kanna is demanding a high level judicial probe.

This is what happens when a factional leader becomes CM: Kanna

2

BJP state president Kanna Laxminarayana on Friday condemned the removal of state election commissioner Ramesh Kumar calling it unconstitutional, but said it was a predictable decision from the Jagan government as the chief minister believes in politics of vengeance.

“This is a classic example of what happens when a factional leader becomes the chief minister of the state. We have seen the kind of violence never seen before ahead of the civic body elections. Jagan is intolerant, authoritarian and an autocratic who goes to any extent to decimate his political rivals. He is an immature politician who crippled the economy of the state by resorting to unilateral decisions of revisiting and reversing the vital contracts and policies of the previous regime. He abolished the legislative council to satisfy his ego,” he said.

The BJP leader said vendetta politics has taken a more crude form. “The ruling party legislators are resorting to physical attacks, harassments with police cases and coercing defections,” he said.

YSRCP misusing central funds for political gains: Kanna

0

A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi called up Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and enquired about the measures being initiated by the state government to contain the spread of the contagion, Andhra Pradesh BJP president Kanna Laxminarayana on Monday accused the YSRCP leaders of misusing the funds disbursed by the central government for the aid of the poor in the state to its political ends.

Talking to mediapersons on the party’s 40th foundation day on Monday, Kanna accused the YSRCP leaders of distributing the funds granted by the central government to the people in the state by wrongfully claiming that the money was being distributed by party president and Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. He also criticized the Jagan government that it had miserably failed to assess the corona situation and also failed to determine and identify the number of positive corona cases in the state. He urged the BJP workers to help the needy.

Telugu 360.com carried a report under the headline ‘Politics in the times of corona: YSRCP leaders in poll mode, distribute money’. YSRCP candidates who are in fray for the upcoming civic body, ZPTC and MPTC elections were caught on camera distributing money to the people in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts.

The distribution of cash to the people has snowballed into a controversy. Senior TDP leaders including Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Atchannaidu shot off a letter to Govenor Bishwa Bhushan Harichandan alleging that the YSRCP leaders were handing out Rs 1,000 cash to the people in violation of mode code of conduct in the state in view of the civic body elections. They also questioned why cash was being distributed by the YSRCP leaders instead of government officials.

Andhra Pradesh has so far reported 252 cases of corona, 190 of them linked to the Tablighi Jamaat religious congregation in South Delhi’s Nizamuddin. Kurnool tops the list with a total 56 positive cases of Covid-19, followed by Nellore with 34 cases and Guntur with 30 cases.

State BJP to move SC, seek cancellation of polls

1

Andhra Pradesh BJP state president Kanna Lakshminaraya on Monday said the party will file a petition in the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of the civic body elections.

On Monday, YSR Congress Party already moved the Supreme Court against the decision of the State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar to postpone the rural and urban local bodies in Andhra Pradesh. The Supreme Court is likely to hear the case tomorrow.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, the BJP state president said YSRCP president and Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy seems to have resolved to make the elections to the local bodies unanimous in favour of the YSRCP by physically attacking the opponents and blackmailing them.

The BJP State president thanked the State Election Commission (SEC) for conceding the party’s plea to take action against YSR Congress Party activists for atrocities allegedly committed by them during the local body elections process. Three BJP MPs G V L Narasimha Rao, T G Venkatesh and C Ramesh met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and lodged a strong protest against the violence and attacks on the opposition parties ahead of the civic body elections. Lakshminarayana shot off a letter to Amit Shah on March 15 requesting the Central government’s immediate intervention.

On Sunday, Ramesh Kumar postponed the civic body elections citing the emerging challenges posed by the spread of coronavirus and that continuing with the election schedule may be detrimental and harmful to the public health at large.

Ramesh Kumar on Monday met Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan at the Raj Bhavan in Vijayawada and discussed the factors that led to the postponement of the elections. On Sunday, YSRCP president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy met the Governor complaining against the State Election Commissioner’s “arbitrary” postponement of the polls to rural and urban local bodies

Central Election Commission should interfere, says Kanna

0

BJP AP President Kanna Lakshminarayana launched a never-before attack on the State Election Commission of Andhra Pradesh. He accused State Election Commissioner N Ramesh Kumar of remaining a silent spectator without doing anything to stop the election atrocities of Jagan Reddy party against the opposition candidates. The SEC had failed to create confidence in the election process.

Kanna demanded that the Central Election Commission should take over and supervise the local body polls. This is the only way out since the Jaganmohan Reddy government is flouting all norms and terrifying all opposition candidates. In Vizianagaram, there is no freedom for opposition parties to file nominations. The opposition candidates are under constant threat from the YCP goondas.

BJP MLC Madhav said that their party would agitate against Jagan Circar for its vicious attempts to disturb the multi-crore MANSAS Trust properties run by Gajapatirajus family in Vizag as Vizianagaram.

Vizag people scared of YCP land mafia: Kanna

0

A day after GVL Narasimha Rao supported YCP Circar, BJP AP President Kanna Lakshminarayana visited and gave counter support to Amaravati farmers’ agitation against 3 Capitals. He went a step further in criticising YCP harshly. Kanna mockingly commented that even the Vizag people are highly scared of getting the Executive Capital status to their city because of the great threat from YCP land mafia.

Kanna has not commented on Chandrababu Naidu Vizag arrest. Whereas, GVL met and represented to Governor on how TDP was equally to blame in Vizag incidents. Suddenly, Kanna came to express his solidarity to Amaravati farmers. He sarcastically said that YCP rule is like handing over chocolates to innocent people only to rob their necklaces.
Kanna said that if elections are held now, the ruling YCP will not win lesser MLA seats than what TDP got in 2019. Because of this negative response from people that CM Jagan is avoiding the local body elections somehow.

BJP backs Amaravati farmers, says AP needs decentralized development!

0

The Andhra Pradesh unit of BJP has backed the agitations conducted by Amaravati farmers agains AP CM YS Jagan’s move to shift government administration from Amaravati to Vizag and create three capitals for AP.

Farmers of capital development region on Tuesday called on BJP state president Kanna Lakshmi Narayana and urged him to convey their problems to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Addressing the farmers, Kanna Lakshmi Narayana dubbed the Amaravati problem is not that of farmers, but that of the state capital.

He said that if state capital gets changed with the change of government the credibility of the state would be at stake.

Farmers parted with their lands believing in the state government, while the Center gave funds to the state capital, he said adding that the Center did not give funds because of the face value of Chandrababu or Jagan.

There was no precedent for change of capital with the change of the CM, he said accusing Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of resorting to such a mindless taks out of sheer immaturity.

The BJP favours decentralised development but not decentralised administration, he clarified.

Let alone the law and order situation in the state, the credit of making the people spend sleepless nights for the past six months goes to the CM, he said.

The BJP pledged its support to the cause of the farmers of the capital region, he said.

The previous regime had spent Rs 10,000 crore public money for development of the state capital. Now, if the present regime wants to do as it liked with the state capital people would not keep mum, he warned.

He remarked that Amaravati is not the own company of YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

Further, development of the state would take backseat if the capital is relocated to elsewhere, he cautioned advising Jagan against nursing vindictive attitude towards others.

Kanna demands CBI probe: Viveka murder

0

The BJP AP leaders have stepped up their attack saying that the police department is losing the trust of the people under the Jaganmohan Reddy government. CM’s own uncle murder accused are not yet arrested in Kadapa district. The investigation is also made into a farce. Now, BJP AP President Kanna Laxminarayana is demanding that Jagan Reddy government should better give the Viveka murder case to the CBI. The lack of progress in the case showed the indifference of the ruling YCP.

Viveka murder triggered a major political controversy at the time of 2019 general election. Luckily for Jagan Reddy, the High Court ordered the political parties not to talk about the murder case in electioneering. Eventually, Jagan Reddy came to power. He is now facing allegations of suppressing facts in the murder of his own uncle. YCP leaders targetted the TDP leaders at one time. The police are making some buzz only when there are demands from opposition for status of investigation. Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan have also questioned Jagan several times on the negligence in Viveka murder case. If CBI takes up probe, it is sure to embarrass the Jaganmohan Reddy’s relatives in a big way.

AP Circar madness reaching peak levels: Kanna

0

BJP AP President Kanna Laxminarayana is making non-stop criticism of CM Jagan Reddy on the issues of government narrow mindedness, religious propaganda and conversions. Kanna Tweeted a hard-hitting message saying that Jagan Regime is solely busy giving its party flag colours to government buildings. It’s not even leaving temples. Given a chance, the ruling YCP leaders will paint every grain of sand and even rainbows in Andhra sky with their party colours.

Kanna said that the government madness has reached peak levels in Andhra Pradesh under Jagan leadership. No intellectual or IAS officer is daring to give right advice as they know it would make the YSR son very angry. While Kanna is exposing YCP excesses, his party MLC Somu Veerraju is making anti-TDP statements in order to dilute increasing anti-Jagan mood in the state.

Kanna has also criticised YCP for playing its role behind religious propaganda in Annavaram Satyanarayana Swamy Temple and at Bheemli Utsav. He also questioned whether it’s correct to insert statues of a particular religion on the arch of Bhavani Island Resort.

Jagan religious conspiracy behind English medium: BJP AP

0

The BJP AP leaders have begun giving communal colour to isolate CM Jaganmohan Reddy on the issue of English medium in government schools. BJP AP President Kanna Laxminarayana says that there’s a clear religious conspiracy behind Jagan Reddy’s adamant decision on the change of medium. Kanna accused the CM of plotting to give a big advantage to a particular religion by promoting English education through the government schools.

It’s an open secret that the BJP is attacking CM Jagan Reddy on his alleged efforts to spread Christianity to which he belongs. The BJP has already alleged that religious conversions are spreading up in Andhra as part of Jagan’s to further his Christian votebank to a safe winning edge. The new allegations of Kanna may not create big political impact now but his remarks clearly indicate the determination of BJP to oppose YCP on every issue.

Analysts say that the BJP is apparently in a rush to polarise the Hindu votebank hoping to win it over in Andhra too. On his part, Jagan Reddy is visibly confident of BJP not getting success in Hindu polarisation because of dominant caste backgrounds of TDP and Jana Sena parties.

Is Jagan giving shocking return gifts? asks Kanna

0

The ruling YCP leaders are keeping mum despite bitter criticism of the BJP against the Jaganmohan Reddy government. Even MP Vijayasai Reddy and Minister Botsa Satyanarayana are not daring to launch counter attacks on the BJP. This has emboldened BJP AP President Kanna Laxminarayana who is now saying that he has never seen such an inefficient government like Jagan’s in his long political career. His latest specific attack is with regard to the hopeless situation of construction workers.

Because of Jagan policies, the construction industry is locked in steep crisis and its workers are getting very low wages of Rs 150 per head only. This is because of the lack of demand and unprecedented fall in construction activity all over the state. Kanna asked whether this is Jagan’s return gift to the AP people for giving him a massive victory with 151 MLA seats out 175. Kanna deplored that the YCP government is just interested in giving its party colours to government offices but not in the actual welfare of the people.

Kanna wants renaming all schemes with PM name

0

Following demands from BJP, AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy has renamed his Navaratnalu farmers’ scheme as ‘YSR Rythu Bharosa PM Kisan’. This has been welcomed by BJP State President Kanna Lakshminarayana. In his twitter message, Kanna thanked Jagan for duly acting on their demand and for recognising Centre’s contributions. Such cooperation was not there during Chandrababu Naidu regime.

At the same time, Kanna made another request to CM Jagan. Just like Rythu Bharosa, he wanted renaming all other Centrally sponsored schemes and programmes in the state. There are many welfare programmes in education, women and child welfare, irrigation and so on in which the Central funds are used in a big way. Now, Jagan would come under pressure to consider including PM name in all these programmes.

By renaming Rythu Bharosa, Jagan has successfully reduced the growing gap between YCP and BJP in the state. There will be less criticism from BJP side on this count. BJP state leaders are considering it their big achievement. No doubt, it is not easy to make a state government to include PM name in their flagship welfare programme.

Jagan is a greater ‘Sticker CM’ than Naidu: BJP

0

Former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu never directly used the official machinery in the party image-building activities. But still BJP leaders mockingly called him as a Sticker CM. Their allegation wasn’t that Naidu was using Central funds in a big way but never gave any credit to PM Modi. Now, the Jagan Reddy government is straightaway using the employees in party related activities. Police officials were seen in videos personally pasting Jagan stickers on the auto rickshaws.

These videos stirred big debates in social media as the opposition parties ridiculed the ruling party’s shameless activities. BJP State President Kanna Laxminarayana commented that now it is clear Jaganmohan Reddy is a greater Sticker CM than Chandrababu. How can the police department so openly do such activities? Jagan Reddy has converted police officers into YCP workers. The ruling party flag colours are being used for stickers and government buildings.

BJP ‘Sand Bhikshatana’ on Jagan failures

0

The Bharatiya Janata Party AP unit began a novel protest programme to expose the Jaganmohan Reddy government’s failure in sand supply and consequent loss of work to lakhs of construction workers. BJP State President Kanna Laxminarayana along with other leaders started ‘Bhikshatan’ in Guntur. He demanded that Jagan Circar should pay a compensation of Rs 10,000 per month to all the construction workers who lost their job because of the government policies.

The BJP says that CM Jagan has miserably failed to streamline sand mining which led to an unprecedented crisis in construction industry in the state. Now, lakhs of workers are thrown on the roads. They are not able to eat two meals a day just because of Jagan’s vague policy.

Kanna Laxminarayana is demanding that the government should compensate for all the losses that construction workers suffered in the past five months. It’s unfortunate that Jagan is still not ensuring proper supply of sand. Very sad that the government is not bothering about the problems of poor families.
