The high expenditure put on action stunts in Dubai for ‘Saaho’ has not given desired results for Prabhas. The film was a flop in the Telugu states. Also, the output was not that visually stunning despite spending more than Rs 70 crore. Prabhas has now put all stops to the production of his next film, a period love story.

Before the release of ‘Saaho’, Prabhas has agreed to the proposal from director Radhakrishna Kumar to begin another major lengthy foreign schedule for this period romantic drama. It was estimated that Rs 50 crore needed for this long schedule. Prabhas was okay with his proposal before the release of ‘Saaho’ but things have changed post-release. Prabhas has asked the producer and director to limit the expenditure as much as possible.

The costly schedule has been canceled and in its place, an alternative proposal has been designed. It is said that those scenes were rewritten now and the next part of shooting will happen in Hyderabad only. Last year, Prabhas and Pooja Hegde had participated in a major schedule in Italy for this film. Now matching shots will be filmed in Hyderabad.

Prabhas doesn’t want to sell this movie for exorbitant prices as he did for ‘Saaho’. So, he is keeping the production cost down.

The film’s new shooting schedule will commence towards the end of November.

‘Jaanu’ and ‘Amour 1970’ are the two titles that have been doing rounds for Prabhas’s 20th movie for a long time. But Prabhas is not that excited with these titles. He has been looking for a better catchy name. This is why the first look of the movie was not released today on the eve of Prabhas’s birthday (October 23).

The film is a romantic drama set in Europe of the 1970s. A major schedule was already wrapped up in Italy. From next month another big schedule is going to be commenced in Hyderabad. According to a press release from the makers, a huge set is being designed by S Ravinder.

After working with Sabu Cyril for ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Saaho’, UV Creations has chosen Ravinder to cut down the costs. This film will not be made on a huge budget. Directed by Radhakrishna Kumar, the love story starring Pooja Hegde will have music by Amit Trivedi.

2020 July is the tentative release date that has been fixed for this movie.

Prabhas’s “Saaho” was made with a whopping Rs 300 Cr. The producers made a hell of money on this film by selling off the theatrical rights for astronomical prices. Also, digital and satellite revenue was so huge. The producers in profits though some distributors have incurred heavy losses.

Despite earning a lot of money on ‘Saaho’, Prabhas categorically told the producers to make his next movie on a modest budget of Rs 120 Cr. UV Creations will produce Prabhas’s 20th film. Director Jil Radha Krishna Kumar has made some changes to reduce the production cost.

Prabhas knows that this new film will not do huge business like ‘Saaho’ did. So, it is better to check the budget under control. Nearly 40 percent of the budget has been reduced.

This Prabhas20 film stars Pooja Hegde as the heroine. A part of the movie was recently canned in Europe.

The disappointing result of Saaho has put Prabhas in a defensive mode regarding his next projects. His 20th film, which is tentatively titled as Jaan in the direction of Radha Krishna, has commenced shooting long ago but was delayed due to Saaho. It was expected that Prabhas would quickly wrap up this period love drama immediately after completion of Saaho. But the negative feedback on his looks and makeover in Saaho has compelled Prabhas to take a break and go for a transformation.

Reportedly, the shooting of Jaan is likely to resume in a few more weeks and Prabhas is going to join the sets in the next schedule. The entire talkie part will be wrapped up in four months. The makers are planning to release the film in Summer next year. Pooja Hegde is the leading lady and the film is set in the backdrop of Europe. UV Creations and Gopi Krishna banner are jointly bankrolling the film.

Prabhas is currently busy in getting into the desired look for this film. He is recently spotted in a uber cool avatar with a clean shave.

It took two years to bring Saaho to screens but the first major comment Prabhas faced from all quarters of the society is about his inconsistent looks. Sometimes he appeared a bit chubby and in few places he is worn out. The piece of criticism has now reached Prabhas as well.

From September third week, actually the makers of Saaho want to kick start the second schedule of their next with Prabhas, which has Jil movie fame Radha Krishna directing it. Though everything looked clear for the schedule to take off, Prabhas is said to have asked time now to join the shoot.

The Saaho star wants to spend almost a month in the gym, getting the right physique and proper tone that is required for the film, such that his appearance will have consistency all through the movie. A schedule of the film was earlier shot in Europe on Prabhas and Pooja Hegde, and Prabhas wants to get into that look now.

That’s a good move from Prabhas, as hero’s alternating appearances on the silver screen will spoil the whole excitement in a film.
