Disastrous weekend for Telugu Cinema

Vaisshnav Tej’s Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga and First Day First Show are the new releases of the weekend. Both these films started on a below-average note and are heading towards massive disasters. The word of mouth for Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga and First Day First Show was very poor. The buyers of Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga will lose more than 60 percent of the investments and they are in plans to meet the producer this week. The film received decent advances as the producer has films lined up with Sai Dharam Tej and Varun Tej soon. Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga was released on an advance basis and the producer will taste losses.

First Day First Show was distributed by Geetha Arts and the makers too will lose badly as the film will get nothing from the theatres. Jathi Ratnalu fame Anudeep penned the script and he was trolled badly for his work. Vikram’s bilingual Cobra that released on Wednesday too fell flat and did not make much money over the weekend. The footfalls for Karthikeya 2 and Sita Ramam were decent on Saturday and Sunday. Tollywood witnessed one more disastrous weekend. All eyes are now focused on Brahmastra which is heading for a huge release on September 9th. Sharwanand’s Oke Oka Jeevitham is the only Telugu film releasing this weekend.

I did Mass Communication after Niharika picked up the course. Most of them joined jobs after completing Mass Communication but I was puzzled. After Kalyan uncle insisted, I went to Thailand to learn Martial Arts” told Vaisshnav Tej.

He continued saying “I then wanted to become a Kickboxing Trainer. I also had thoughts of testing my career as a Jewelery Designer. I wanted to try my future in Animation. I also had thoughts of joining the Indian Army and serving the nation. Army Life is not easy suggested my mother. Finally, after Sukumar and Buchi Babu approached me, I ended up turning an actor with Uppena”. Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga is a romantic entertainer directed by Gireesaaya and Ketika Sharma is the leading lady. The film is releasing on Friday.

Mega Prince Varun Tej is on a break and he is not in a hurry. An official announcement about his next film in the direction of Praveen Sattaru was made but the shoot is yet to start. There are lot of speculations about the project. As per the latest speculation, Varun Tej is in talks for one more project. Gireesaaya who directed Vaisshnav Tej’s Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga narrated a script to Varun Teja and the Mega actor was impressed. But he will take a call on this project only after the release of Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga.

Gireesaaya is committed for BVSN Prasad for one more project and if all goes well, Varun Tej and Gireesaaya project will be bankrolled by BVSN Prasad. It is unclear if Varun Tej starts Praveen Sattaru’s project or Gireesaaya’s film for now. He is also in talks with Sony Pictures India for a pan-Indian film that will be launched this year.

Supreme Star Sai Dharam Tej met with a brutal accident and he recovered well. The actor spent days in the hospital and it took months for the star actor to recover completely. He lost the control of his bike because of the sand on the road and the actor survived as he was wearing a helmet. During the pre-release event of Vaisshnav Tej’s Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga, Sai Tej recalled about the accident. He turned emotional and urged everyone to wear a helmet when they are traveling on a bike.

“I met with a bike accident in September 2021. I could not respond to my brother when I was on the hospital bed. I lost the control of the bike because of the sand on the road. I survived because I was wearing a helmet when the accident took place. I request everyone to wear a helmet when they are riding a bike” told Sai Tej. Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga directed by Gireesaaya is hitting the screens this Friday. Vaisshnav Tej and Ketika Sharma are the lead actors. BVSN Prasad is the producer. Sai Tej and Varun Tej attended the pre-release event as Special Guests.

Liger is the next Tollywood film for which the audience are eagerly waiting for. The film is releasing tomorrow and a successful August comes to an end with Liger for Tollywood. A heap of small and medium budget films are testing their luck in September and the release dates are announced. Unfortunately, none of the films are carrying decent buzz and they are in struggling mode.

Vaisshnav Tej’s Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga is releasing on September 2nd. The trailer was out recently but it fell short of the expectations. Jathi Ratnalu director Anudeep is presenting a small film First Day First Show and the film too is carrying low expectations. Satyadev and Tamannaah starrer Gurthunda Seethakalam is releasing on September 9th. Most of the audience are not aware about the film and its release. Kiran Abbavaram’s Nenu Meeku Baga Kavalsinavadini too is releasing on the same date and the makers are promoting the film.

Sharwanand who is struggling for success will test his luck with Oke Oka Jeevitham. The film sounds to be an emotional entertainer and the audience are not much interested about the film. None of the promotional content was impressive. Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra is also releasing on September 9th. Vishal will test his luck with Laththi and the film releases on September 15th. Sudheer Babu and Krithi Shetty starrer Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali is releasing on September 16th. Regina and Nivetha Thomas starrer Saakini Daakini
will be in theatres on 16th.

Sree Vishnu’s Alluri will release on September 23rd. Naga Shaurya’s long-delayed own film Krishna Vrinda Vihari too will release on 23rd. Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan: Part-1 will release on September 30th. For now, none of the films are carrying terrific buzz and are kept in the watchlist of the audience among the September releases. We have to wait to see if they will change with the trailer of the films and the promotional content.
