TDP leaders pay rich tributes to NTR

0

TDP president and former chief minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Wednesday recalled the services of the party founder, the late NT Rama Rao, both to the film industry and the State as well.

Chandrababu Naidu, along with party state unit president, Atchen Naidu, and other senior leaders, paid rich tributes to the party founder NTR on his 27th death anniversary on Wednesday. Terming the Late NTR as a legendary actor, Chandrababu said that he has created history by forming the government within a few months of floating the TDP.

Chandrababu Naidu said that NTR accomplished greatest achievements and wherever Telugu people are living they really feel proud of their home State. “A person can excel only in one field, but NTR has gone to a very high level in the field of films and in politics,” Chandrababu said.

“I was the minister for Cinematography when he was in the film industry,” Chandrababu recalled and said that he first met NTR during the shooting of the film ‘Anuragadevatha’. NTR brought in radical transformation in politics, he said.

“NTR always treated the common man as his god and today women are excelling in various fields only because of the foundation laid by NTR,” Chandrababu observed.

Leaders like Yanamala Ramakrishnudu could become a member of the Cabinet as NTR took the decision to make the Backward Classes (BCs) as partners in the power. “NTR will always stand atop all the best chief ministers and best creator chief ministers in the country,” the TDP supremo remarked.

The welfare schemes like Single Window and Rs 2-a-kg rice scheme were launched during his regime and foundation was laid for several irrigation projects during NTR’s regime, he stated. “TDP always accords top priority to irrigation,” Chandrababu added.

The TDP supremo gave a call to build a poverty-free society in the State and the people should join hands to bid goodbye to this psycho rule. Observing that the coming elections are very crucial to the party and the State as well, Chandrababu Naidu said that the real tribute to NTR is only to serve society and work for realising his dreams.

“NTR’s son, Bala Krishna, is extending his services through the cancer hospital while Bhuvaneswari is serving the State through NTR Trust,” he said.

Raghurama predicts TDP win by 14 pc majority in 2024

0

Narasapuram MP, K Raghurama Krishnam Raju, on Tuesday predicted that the opposition TDP would win the 2024 general elections by a massive mandate. He said that the TDP would win by at least a 12 to 14 per cent majority in the state.

He discounted the YSR Congress Party’s claim of Why Not 175 and said that the ruling party would face a humiliating defeat in the election. He claimed to have conducted a survey in all the 175 Assembly segments.

Raghurama said that the TDP is ahead of the YSR Congress in the North Andhra region, Godavari districts, besides Krishna, Guntur and Rayalaseema districts. Quite interestingly, the TDP is doing better than the YSR Congress in Kadapa district, the home district of chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the rebel MP said.

The MP said that the TDP has an edge by 12 per cent votes in the North Andhra region, followed by 14 to 16 per cent in the Godavari districts, 12 to 14 per cent in Krishna and Guntur districts. The TDP is also leading by 8 per cent vote share in Prakasam and Nellore districts, the MP said.

The edge for the TDP is around 10 to 12 percent in Anantapur and Kurnool districts, 6 to 8 percent in Chittoor and Kadapa districts. This would go up if the TDP forges alliance with the Jana Sena, the MP said.

The MP also said that the government had failed to implement 98.7 per cent promises made by the party before the 2019 general election. People in the state were moving away from the YSR Congress and would not vote for the party once again.

The suspicious murder of Y S Vivekananda Reddy also helped the YSR Congress in the 2019 elections to raise sympathy and win the elections. However, after the elections, who killed Babai was known to the people and these dramas would not work for Jagan Mohan Reddy, the MP said.

Kesineni fires a salvo at TDP leadership

0

Vijayawada MP, Kesineni Srinivas, fired a salvo at TDP leadership ahead of the 2024 general election. He said he would not work for the party if his brother Kesineni Sivanadh or anyone with a criminal record is nominated.

He took strong exception to the party leadership promoting his brother Sivanadh and said that he would not agree with the strategy of the party leadership which, according to him, was splitting the families.

Kesineni said that he would continue to work for the people even if denied the party ticket from the Vijayawada Lok Sabha constituency in the next election. “If required, I might also contest as an Independent and win the seat,” Kesineni asserted.

He further said that he would rope in several other national and international charitable organisations along with the Tata Trust and serve the people. He said that people would recognise his services and expressed confidence that they would bless him too in politics.

“I have done my best for the constituency in the last two terms. I will continue to do my best. That’s what Kesineni means,” he asserted.

It is said that TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and his son Lokesh are entertaining Kesineni’s brother Sivanadh in Vijayawada politics. It is widely said that Chandrababu Naidu is favouring Sivanadh to contest the next election and had made up his mind to drop Kesineni Srinivas from the contest.

As he said, Srinivas may not remain silent if he is denied the ticket and would certainly play a spoilsport to the TDP in the constituency that might have an impact on seven Assembly constituencies.

Police torturing innocent TDP activists, alleges Naidu

1

TDP president and former chief minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, on Monday strongly condemned the filing of false cases against the party activists in Punganur.

Naidu visited the party activists who were lodged in the Peler sub-jail and later told media persons that false cases were being registered against the TDP activists of the Punganur Assembly segment, including seven persons belonging to the Minority community and even an Ayyappa devotee.

“Fake cases were filed even against 21-year-old boy Pathas Riyaz, who is studying Intermediate,” the TDP supremo said.

Eight persons were illegally taken into custody by just mentioning in the First Information Report (FIR) that only others. “Not only that, but also they are shifted to the police station and were subjected to torture and were presented before the local magistrate,” Naidu pointed out.

The arrested were threatened with serious consequences if they admit before the magistrate that they were beaten up by the police, he said and asked whether there is any other terrorist activity worse than this.

“Who gave the right to police to act in such a manner,” Naidu asked and made it clear that suitable action will be initiated against these police officials once the TDP is back in power.

Observing that Andhra Pradesh is now witnessing a State-sponsored terrorism, he questioned the police as to how they can behave like this and how many more illegal cases will be filed against the innocent persons.

What the police officials were doing when the YSRCP workers damaged the flexies arranged to greet TDP leader, Challa Babu, on his birthday, he asked and questioned them whether they would leave the TDP activists if they damage the YSRCP flexies.

Yanamala foresees 1983 scenario to be repeated in AP in 2024

1

TDP politburo member and former Finance minister, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, on Tuesday foresaw the 1983 scenario to be repeated in 2024 in the State.

Ramakrishnudu told media persons that when the State was passing through a deep crisis in 1983, the people reposed faith in the Telugu Desam Party and a similar situation is now prevailing in the State and thus the same situation will be repeated.

The criticism on the meeting of TDP supremo, Chandrababu Naidu, and Jana Sena chief, Pawan Kalyan, is a reflection of the insecurity in the YSRCP leadership and the cadre, Ramakrishnudu felt.

Pointing out that he has made a demand to Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, several times to come for an open debate on the financial condition of the State, he said that the total debt burden on the State beginning 1956, when AP was formed, to 2014, was a mere Rs 2.56 lakh crore.

But in the three-year rule of Jagan Mohan Reddy, the debt burden reached to a whooping Rs 8.50 lakh cr and it will reach to Rs 11 lakh cr by that time Jagan demits office, the former Finance minister said.

Observing that several regional parties survived only for a few years, he said that it is only the TDP that has been winning the confidence of the people for the past 40 years. “I am really fortunate enough to be in the first Cabinet of the late NTR and since then I have been holding several posts both in the party and in the government,” Ramakrishnudu remarked.

It is only the TDP, as a regional party, that played a key role in national politics, he said, adding that the party has been continuously winning the confidence of the people for the past 40 years. The welfare schemes launched by NTR are certainly a weapon for the TDP and whether the party is in power or not it always stands by the people, he observed.

Only after the TDP came to power, pucca houses were built for the poor and several parties, till today, are following the footsteps of NTR about the implementation of the welfare programmes, Yanamala maintained.

“It was NTR, who introduced the pension scheme for the poor and also the janatha clothes scheme. Women got share in property only after NTR came to power,” he said.

Pawan might have to break the alliance with the BJP!

1

Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan seems to have made up his mind to go with the TDP in the 2024 elections. He is currently tied-up with the BJP which is not ready for alliance with the TDP.

The TDP broke its alliance with the BJP in 2018 and had aligned with the Congress at the national level. Chandrababu Naidu rallied some opposition leaders and the Congress against the BJP in the 2019 general elections.

The BJP leadership in Delhi is not ready for reunion with the TDP for these reasons and hence the Jana Sena had broken its alliance with the BJP and had a fresh tie-up with the TDP for the next election. The TDP is also trying for alliance with the CPI and the CPI-M to keep the anti-incumbency vote not divided to the advantage of the YSR Congress.

Though the two Left parties are not so interested to have a tie-up with the Jana Sena for it aligned with the BJP by breaking the alliance with them. The Jana Sena and the two Left parties besides the Bahujan Samaj Party have contested in alliance in the 2019 general election.

However, the TDP is working on building alliances among these opposition parties. Chandrababu Naidu had held the first round of consultations with the CPI and the CPI-M leadership in the state for alliance and there was a positive response from the Communists, it is said.

Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan had on several occasions reiterated that he would work to build unity among the opposition parties. He had also pledged to ensure that the anti-government vote was not divided among the opposition parties. He wanted to keep the anti-government vote united and work against the YSR Congress.

It is to be seen when Pawan Kalyan would formally break his alliance with the BJP and tie-up with the TDP.

Meanwhile, it is said that Chandrababu Naidu is trying to reach out to the Congress leadership too for the alliance. He is planning to keep all the opposition parties together to defeat the YSR Congress. It is to be seen whether the Congress would join the alliance or not.

TDP seeks permission for padyatra by Chandrababu Naidu’s son

0

The main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has sought police permission for the padyatra of party president Chandrababu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh.

TDP leader Varla Ramaiah has written a letter to the Director General of Police, seeking permission for party general secretary Nara Lokesh’s padyatra scheduled to start on January 27.

Requesting the police chief to accord permission and provide adequate security, he assured the DGP that they will not cause any hindrance to the free flow of traffic and maintenance of law and order.

Varla Ramaiah, who is also general secretary of the party, stated that Lokesh faces threat to his life from extremists, factionists and political rivals.

“We also request you to provide necessary security arrangements throughout the padayatra and at the night halt venues in order to avoid any untoward incident. Further, it is requested to give appropriate directions to all the police stations across the State to provide adequate security to the padayatra,” he wrote.

Lokesh has announced that he will undertake a 4,000 km padyatra from Kuppam to Ichchapuram in 400 days.

Titled ‘Yuva Galam’, Lokesh’s padyatra will be an innovative platform for youth. The TDP said that it would be a campaign to mobilise the youth to participate in the agenda-setting process, as well as to raise their voices to express their opinions and demand change.

However, doubts remain on whether the police would give permission for the padyatra as the state government last week issued an order prohibiting meetings on roads. The order was issued in the wake of December 28 stampede during a road show of Chandrababu Naidu at Kandukur that claimed eight lives.

The opposition parties have slammed the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government for the move calling it an attempt to muzzle the voice of opposition.

Following the Government Order, the TDP chief was stopped from conducting road shows and addressing public meetings during his visit to Kuppam, his Assembly constituency in Chittoor district.

Actor and Jana Sena Party (JSP) leader Pawan Kalyan on Sunday met Chandrababu Naidu to express solidarity with him. The two leaders announced that they along with other opposition parties will launch a joint movement against the Government Order. They said their movement would continue till the government takes back the “black order”.

It’s TDP govt that introduced welfare, development to AP: Chandrababu

1

TDP president, N Chandrababu Naidu, on Monday said that the day late NTR formed the first government of the TDP in the State is a historic day for the Telugus across the globe.

On TDP completing 40 years of forming the government, the party president said that revolutionary changes have come in the lives of the Telugu people in the world both economically and politically only after the late NT Rama Rao formed the TDP government. The journey of the lives of the Telugu people is now being viewed as before and after the TDP formation, Chandrababu said.

Late NTR floated the TDP only to ensure that a poverty-free society was formed and came to power within nine months, Naidu said.

On this day 40 years ago NTR took oath as the chief minister to bring in radical changes in the lives of the poor, he said.

The credit goes to TDP for introducing revolutionary changes in society by bringing in welfare schemes like Rs 2-a-kg rice scheme, Single Window system, doing away with the patel, patwari system, rights for women in property, pucca houses for the poor and old age pensions besides distribution of janatha clothes, Chandrababu recalled. It is the

TDP established separate educational institutions for women like Padmavathi University and created reservations for women in education and employment, the TDP supremo observed.

The Backward Classes (BCs), who form 50 per cent of the population, could progress in politics only with the encouragement given by the TDP, Naidu said, adding that even a separate quota was extended to BCs in the administration and local bodies only by the TDP.

The quota for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) was increased and a separate welfare corporation for Minorities was created by the TDP to ensure that they progress well both economically and socially, the TDP supremo maintained.

“As NTR tried to uphold the dignity and self-respect among the Telugus I tried my best to increase the self-confidence among them,” Naidu said.

Declaring that the TDP will lead the movement to save the State from these psycho rulers, Naidu gave a call to the party leaders and activists to work hard to rebuild the State.

Andhra politics heat up as Pawan Kalyan meets Chandrababu Naidu

Actor and Jana Sena Party (JSP) leader Pawan Kalyan met Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N. Chandrababu Naidu in Hyderabad on Sunday.

The actor-politician called on the former chief minister at the latter’s residence in Jubilee Hills. The two leaders were discussing latest political developments in Andhra Pradesh and the possibility of the two parties working together on various issues.

They are likely to chalk out a joint action plan to fight against the recent order issued by the Jagan Mohan Reddy government prohibiting public meetings on roads.

The TDP chief was barred from conducting road shows and addressing meetings last week during his visit to his Assembly constituency Kuppam in Chittoor district.

The controversial Government Order (GO) was issued in the wake of December 28 stampede during Naidu’s road show at Kudukur in Nellore district that claimed eight lives.

The opposition parties have slammed the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government for the restrictions, calling it an attempt to muzzle the voice of opposition. All the opposition parties have demanded the government to immediately withdraw the GO.

Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan are likely to discuss and evolve a joint strategy to counter the move by the Jagan government.

The two leaders are understood to have discussed the possibility of forming an alliance for the next year’s elections.

Pawan Kalyan is an ally of BJP and he is keen to bring TDP on board for a grand alliance against YSRCP.

This is the first meeting between the two leaders after Pawan Kalyan had called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in November. The JSP leader had met Modi during the latter’s visit to Visakhapatnam.

This was Pawan Kalyan’s first meeting with Modi after 2014. After the meeting, he had expressed hope that this will bring good days for Andhra Pradesh in future.

Chandrababu Naidu had called on Pawan Kalyan in Vijayawada in October last year to express solidarity with him after the police had denied him permission to hold any meeting in Visakhapatnam. After the meeting, they had declared that they would strive to protect democracy in the state.

Naidu had said that he was pained at the way Pawan Kalyan was treated by the police in Visakhapatnam. Pawan Kalyan had thanked Naidu for the visit and said there was a need for all political parties and people’s organisations to come together and save democracy.

TDP seeks police protection for leaders’ return to Macherla

1

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh has sought police protection for its leaders to return to Macherla town of Palnadu district.

The main opposition party has urged the police to ensure proper protection to TDP in-charge for Macherla, Julakanti Brahmananda Reddy and other functionaries so that they can return to their hometown.

The town remained tense since last month following a clash between workers of TDP and ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).

Police had filed a case against Brahmananda Reddy and 23 other TDP leaders in connection with the incidents of violence.

Andhra Pradesh High Court on January 3 granted anticipatory bail to 22 TDP functionaries including Brahmananda Reddy.

Tension has prevailed in the town amid fears of fresh clashes between the workers of the rival parties. Prohibitory orders banning meetings and rallies remained in force in the town.

TDP district president G.V. Anjayeulu has written to district superintendent of police to provide protection to Brahmananda Reddy and others

The town witnessed clashes between supporters of the two parties on December 17. Several persons were injured when the two groups attacked each other with stones and sticks.

House of a TDP leader and a few vehicles were set on fire. Leaders of both the parties had blamed each other for the violence.

Following the incident, police had booked Brahmanand Reddy and others.

Psycho Jagan behind police anarchy, says Chandrababu

0

TDP president and former chief minister, Nara Chandrababu naidu, on Friday suspected the hand of Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, behind the anarchy of the local police.

The police created obstructions to Chandrababu Naidu to visit the local TDP office in Gudipalli in Kuppam Assembly segment, the home constituency of the TDP supremo. Protesting against the police behaviour, Chandrababu strongly protested by staging a sit-in on the road.

Later, addressing the public from the bus which is part of his convoy, Chandrababu Naidu said “the psycho Chief Minister is behind the anarchy of the police action here. Do you have any humanity, are you not ashamed to create hurdles in my own constituency,” he asked.

Questioning the police whether he does not have the right to meet the voters in his home Assembly segment, Chandrababu said that the people will revolt against the police if he keeps moving in the constituency. “You can only create problems physically. I am ready to sacrifice even my life for the sake of the people,” he stated.

Stating that thousands of policemen have been deployed in Kuppam, Chandrababu asked whether the TDP leaders are terrorists. “I will no longer tolerate you if you act like this,” Chandrababu said.

Asking as to why the YSRCP leaders are allowed to organise meetings in public places, the TDP supremo questioned “Do the TDP leaders have a separate rule for this. I really pity the police who have turned almost like slaves,” he said.

Making it clear that either he or the other TDP leaders are not scared of false cases, Chandrababu said that his party will teach a fitting lesson to those who cross the thin line. Chandrababu Naidu said that his campaign vehicle has proper licence.

The police are resorting to attacks on the TDP activists and in turn filing cases against the same partymen, he stated. “The primary duty of the police is to protect the law and order but not beating the people,” he said and added that the youth want Chandarbabu to come back to power to get employment.

The days of this Chief Minister are numbered, Chandrababu Naidu said and made it clear that he will note down all the names of such persons who caused obstructions for his present visit to Kuppam.

Harsha Kumar’s son meets Naidu, to join TDP

0

Former Congress MP from Amalapuram, G V Harsha Kumar, joined the TDP just before the 2019 general election. He prostrated before TDP chief and then chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu during the election campaign.

However, later he distanced himself from TDP and had tried several times to enter the YSR Congress. Harsha Kumar was in the ant-YSR camp in the Congress and sailed with V Hanumantha Rao. Perhaps this was the reason for him not to get entry into the YSR Congress.

Finally, he penned a new scheme and sent his son G V Sri Raj to Chandrababu Naidu before the latter started his Kuppam tour. Sri Raj is understood to have held a long discussion with Chandrababu Naidu which lasted for two hours.

Sources say Harsha Kumar would work for his son taking political retirement and take care of his educational institutions. The former MP, who was active in the then chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s team against the bifurcation.

Later, he joined Kiran Kumar Reddy’s Jai Samaikhyandhra Party and contested again from Amalapuram unsuccessfully in the 2014 elections. With his son entering active politics, he seems to have made up his mind to maintain the same distance from politics and allow his son to grow.

However, it is said that Chandrababu Naidu had not given the clear indication to Harsha Kumar’s son as Amalapuram TDP ticket is occupied by late G M C Balayogi’s son Harish Madhur who lost the election in 2019.

It is to be seen whether Chandrababu Naidu would offer the Amalapuram seat to Balayogi’s son or Harsha Kumar’s son in the 2024 general election.

Naidu fires at State govt, police for blocking his Kuppam tour

0

Former chief minister and TDP president, Nara Chandarbabu Naidu, on Wednesday lambasted both the State Government and the police for creating hurdles to his visit to Kuppam, his home constituency.

Talking to media persons at Peddur of Kuppam Assembly segment in Chittoor district, Chandrababu Naidu reminded both the State government and the police that he won from Kuppam seven times and that he had informed the police about his visit much in advance. Stating that the government brought in the GO No-1 on January 2 imposing restrictions on the parties not to organise any road shows, Chandrababu felt that this clearly indicates that the meetings should be held only with the generosity of the ruling party.

Pointing out that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, on Tuesday organised a meeting at Rajahmundry where holiday was declared for all educational institutions and shifted the people forcibly to his meeting by the private transport, RTC, school and college buses, the TDP supremo said that even Dwcra women were threatened with discontinuing their pension if they fail to attend the meeting.

“The people are being subjected to various kinds of problems if they fail to attend the ruling party leaders meetings. Even those who are unhealthy are not left out,” Chandrababu Naidu remarked. How the YSRCP leaders organised a meeting at Vizianagaram after the GO was issued, he asked.

“Had I, as chief minister, taken similar decisions like this, Jagan would not have even moved out. How can the State Government impose restrictions on me to visit my own constituency,” Chandrababu said.

Will Naidu follow Jagan’s GO on road shows?

0

All eyes are on TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu who is scheduled to tour his Kuppam Assembly constituency for three days from January 4.

The State government had issued a GO prohibiting public meetings and rallies on the roads following a stampede at Kandukuru of Nellore district where 8 persons were killed.

As the GO was out, the Chittoor police have issued notices to the district TDP leaders asking them to apply for permission to hold meetings with Chandrababu Naidu. The police wanted the TDP leaders to clearly specify where they would be holding the meetings and what measures are being taken to regulate the crowd.

Following the notices, the TDP leaders criticised the state government for imposing restrictions on the movements of the opposition party leaders. They said that they would not apply for the permission but would go ahead with their original programme.

If the TDP leaders fail to apply for permission and if Naidu moves forward holding the roadshows and roadside meetings, the police will certainly act against him.

It is to be seen if Chandrababu Naidu would follow the rule or challenge the state government on its GO and hold his programmes as planned earlier.

Guntur stampede deaths are by govt, says Varla Ramaiah

0

TDP politburo member, Varla Ramaiah, on Monday said that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is totally shaken on noticing the massive gatherings for the public meetings of TDP president, Chandrababu Naidu.

Ramaiah asked as to how three persons died, particularly after Chandrababu left the venue, though 200 policemen were on security duty. “The State government should answer whether the three persons really died in the stampede as reported or they were done to death,” he asked.

Stating that he will certainly blame the Chief Minister and his Government for the deaths, Ramaiah said that unable to digest the fact that huge crowds are gathering for the meetings of Chandrababu, the government resorted to this kind of incidents. He suspected the role of sleeper-cells of the ruling party behind the death of the three persons in the Guntur incident.

Ramaiah suspected that the three persons were done to death only with a view to creating hurdles to Mr Chandrababu’s meetings and demanded that Guntur District Superintendent of Police, Ariff, order for an impartial inquiry to bring the facts to light as to who is responsible for the deaths.

Suspecting a conspiracy behind the killing of the three persons, Ramaiah demanded that cases under Sections 120 (B) and Sections 302 be registered against the persons responsible for the deaths. He said that in the Guntur incident all the fingers are pointing towards the State government and stated that the Ministers, who generally respond very late towards any incident, reacted very fast on Guntur incident and visited the spot immediately.

Observing that this Government never encourages the poor to celebrate their festivals, the TDP politburo member said that the State government only tried to cause damage to the programme organised by a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) to extend some helping hand to the poor for which Mr Chandrababu Naidu was the chief guest.

Demanding a CBI probe into the whole incident, Ramaiah felt that the facts will not come to light if the State police conduct the inquiry. He is also of the opinion that the Government will not give a free hand to the Guntur Superintendent of Police to conduct an inquiry into the whole issue as facts will come to light.

Pointing out that in November last year itself the YSRCP leaders Tweeted that the real politics of Jagan will begin in January, he felt that if an NRI who has come forward to help the poor, is subjected to this kind of harassment by the government who will take the initiative in future to extend a helping hand to the poor. It is really atrocious that Srinivasa Rao of the Vuyyuru Foundation was taken into custody, he said, adding that the TDP strongly condemns the arrest.

Ramaiah suspected conspiracy behind the deaths of the three persons and advised the Chief Minister to know the fact that his assets will not sail with him forever.

TDP announces Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia for kin of Guntur stampede victims

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday expressed shock over stampede at Guntur in which three persons died and announced Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased.

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy alsoannounced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.

He instructed the officials to provide quality medicare to the injured.

Naidu, in a statement, said that he participated in the programme earlier organised by the Vuyyuru Foundation where kits were distributed to the poor. “It is really painful that three persons died in the stampede that took place after I left the venue as the programme was completed. I attended the programme only to encourage that voluntary organisation which is trying to help the poor,” the former Chief Minister said.

Meanwhile, TDP state President Atchen Naidu blamed Jaganmohan Reddy government for the
Guntur incident.

The Vuyyuru Foundation organised the programme at Guntur for distribution of Janatha clothes and Sankrathi Kanuka only with the proper permission of the police, he said.

Atchen Naidu asked if it was not the duty of the state government to provide proper security and manage the crowd when so many people were attending the programme for which the former Chief Minister is the chief guest. Stating that the Chandrababu Naidu government then provided enough security fot the padayatra undertaken by Jagan Mohan Reddy when he was in the opposition, he asked as to why such steps were not taken now.

Maintaining that there is no minimum security when such a stampede had taken place, the TDP state unt President said that even those who were present there did not act properly. Without announcing the financial assistance to the bereaved families soon after the incident, the Cabinet ministers began passing the blame on the TDP, he remarked.

Atchen Naidu felt that the YSRCP’s social media is resorting to blame game and said that all these developments are providing scope for several doubts. Eight persons died at Kandukur as there was no enough police security while no untoward incident took place either at Kavali or at Kovvur since enough security arrangements were made, he said.

Demanding that proper security arrangements be made for the meetings of Chandrababu Naidu, he advised the Chief Minister not to resort to blame game.

Atchen Naidu also demanded that the Government distribute Sankranthi, Christmas and Ramzan gifts as the earlier government did.

Naidu invites neutrals to TDP for 2024 polls

0

Former chief minister and TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday invited the intellectuals and neutrals to join the TDP ahead of the 2024 general elections. He wanted the intellectuals and neutrals to change the politics of the state from corruption and hooliganism to development.

The TDP chief who is currently touring the SPSR Nellore district spoke to media at Kovuru, where he emphasised the need to get rid of the corrupt rule of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said that everyone in the state should come forward to send Jagan out of power in the next election.

Chandrababu Naidu said that he would also welcome some of the ruling YSR Congress MLAs. He said that there are good MLAs and leaders in the YSR Congress and felt that they should come out of the party and join hands with him.

“There is nothing wrong in taking some good leaders from the YSR Congress. I welcome them to save the state and the people from the misrule of Jagan Mohan Reddy,” Chandrababu Naidu said. He asserted that several sitting MLAs and leaders from the YSR Congress were ready to switch over to the TDP.

The TDP chief said that the Telugu Desam Party was the first to invite new faces, professionals and intellectuals into politics. The TDP had encouraged several new leaders and professionals into active politics, he said.

He also saw the need for the professionals, intellectuals and neutrals to come with the TDP and fight the 2024 battle to save the state. He asserted that political polarisation would take place in 2023 and that would change the fate of the state in 2024.

Naidu to give his first sign on BC schemes if voted to power

1

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu said that he would give his first signature on the welfare of the BCs in the state if the party is voted to power in the 2024 elections. Addressing the people in Nellore district, Chandrababu Naidu said that the TDP would focus on BCs welfare.

He said that the party would come up with a series of welfare schemes for the BCs once the TDP formed the next government. He said that the BCs welfare was completely neglected by the present government headed by chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Chandrababu Naidu said that the BCs in the state are ready to give a return gift to Jagan Mohan Reddy in the next election. He claimed that BCs were coming in large numbers to the TDP’s meetings in the state these days. The presence of BCs for the TDP meetings shows the return of the party base, he asserted.

The TDP chief said that Jagan Mohan Reddy government had given some corporations and nominated posts to the BCs but had not given funds and powers. He said Jagan had made the BCs a laughingstock which the BCs were realising.

The government had failed to support the BCs and their traditional professions. He said that the TDP would take care of every section of the society once it comes to power in the next election. He asked the BCs to wait for the good day to say bye bye to Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Days are numbered for YSRCP, says Chandrababu

0

TDP national president and former chief minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Thursday predicted that the days for YSRCP are numbered as the leaders of the party are uttering all nonsense.

Addressing a roadshow as part of his ongoing ‘Idemi Kharma Mana Rashtraniki’ programme at Kavali in Nellore district, Chandrababu Naidu said an incident took place at Kandukur right in his presence on Wednesday and had the local police there acted like the Kavali police that would not have happened. Cautioning the people to be a bit vigilant, Chandrababu lamented that he could not come to their rescue.

Promising the gathering that he will certainly stand by the families of the deceased, the TDP supremo said that a financial assistance of Rs 24 lakh each to the families has been extended. “I will stand by these families and will look after the future of their children,” he said.

Thanking Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, for expressing condolences to the bereaved families, Chandarbabu said that the Chief Minister did not react till the Prime Minister expressed sympathies to the families. “This is the culture of Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy,” he said and made it clear that the “ongoing movement will continue till justice is done to all your children.”

Pointing out that a Dalit leader, Karunakar, of this constituency, committed suicide due to the harassment by the local YSRCP leaders for his land, the former chief minister warned the local MLA of serious consequences if he does not mend himself. Stating that Jagan Reddy has been resorting to hiking the prices of everything, including revision of taxes, for the past three-and-half years, Chandrababu Naidu felt that the time has come to show the door to the Chief Minister.

Chandrababu Naidu expressed concern that the state police who once discharged their duties efficiently, are now working under a psycho and are resorting to filing false cases against the TDP leaders. “How can the district superintendent of police can claim that I have not addressed the meeting at the place of his choice. How the Director General of Police can file cases against us,” he asked and said that he is ready to face such false cases.

The former chief minister made it clear that he will not leave those police officers who filed false cases against the TDP leaders and said that once the party is back in power suitable action will be initiated against such officers. “I am not afraid of psychos as I always stand by the people,” he stated.

Observing that a time has come for all the political parties to join hands and come onto the road to fight for upholding the democratic values, the TDP supremo said that Jagan Mohan Reddy is completely money-minded and has already become the richest Chief Minister in the country.

Chandrababu Naidu called upon the people to come forward and join hands with him to fight against this psycho Chief Minister. “This psycho-rule should go and cycle-rule should come back in the State,” he added.

Naidu pays tributes to TDP activists died in Kandukur incident

0

TDP president and former chief minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Thursday paid rich tributes to those who died in the stampede here on Wednesday.

Later talking to media persons, Chandrababu Naidu said that he is deeply hurt with the Kandukur incident and that the party is extending financial assistance of Rs 24 lakh each to the kin of the deceased of which Rs 15 lakh is being paid from the party while the remaining amount is extended by the TDP leaders. Of the eight persons who succumbed to injuries, six belong to the downtrodden sections of society, he said adding that the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, also extended financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to each family.

“I have come here to pay tributes to the deceased persons and the TDP will stand by their family members. The party will take the responsibility of bearing the expenses for the education of the children of those who died in Wednesday’s incident,” Chandrababu Naidu announced.

Observing that he has been into politics for more than four decades, the TDP supremo recalled the days when roadshow was organised by late NT Rama Rao, Ratha Yatra by the BJP top leader, L K Advani and his own pada yatra.

“Whichever leader comes to a place, it is the duty of the local police to oversee the law and order. I am not blaming anyone, but the Kandukur police should have taken precautionary measures to avert the stampede,” Chandrababu Naidu felt.

Without naming anyone, Chandrabau Naidu said that the way criticism is being made against his meetings is not correct. Stating that he does not need anyone’s sympathy, the former chief minister said that several meetings were held earlier by various parties exactly where he addressed his meeting on Wednesday.

“I am leaving it to their wisdom whether to criticise such incidents too,” Chandrababu Naidu said and stated that it is now the duty of the people who gather for the meetings to take necessary safety measures even if the local police do not cooperate.
