Buzz: Varisu combo to repeat soon?

Vamshi Paidipally made his debut in 2009 with Munna. He has worked with Dil Raju for all his films except Oopiri. Their latest film is Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu. The film got released for Sankranthi, sustained in Tamil and failed to recreate the magic in Telugu. Despite his blockbusters Maharshi in Telugu and Varisu in Tamil, Vamshi Paidipally is unable to convince other heroes.

After Maharshi’s success, Mahesh babu promised a film with Vamshi but it never took off. Now Vijay is okay to do one more film with Vamshi and should see how far this film will work for him. Vamshi took a lot of breaks after Maharshi and no Telugu hero showed interest to work with him.

But with Varisu’s success, his Tamil market is open now. Dil Raju is also expanding his claws to other south industries. So there are many chances for the project to be on. For now, Vamshi is working hard to make the Varisu combo happen again and working on the script.

Rashmika about crisp role in Varisu

0

Kannada beauty Rashmika Mandanna romanced Vijay in his recent offering Varisu. The film went on to be a hit in Tamil Nadu. Rashmika was criticized for picking up such a role that did not have any prominence. Critics slammed Rashmika for taking up such a role at this point of time in her career. The top actress responded saying that she was well aware about her role and it was a conscious decision of signing Varisu as she was keen to work with Vijay.

Rashmika said that director Vamshi Paidipally narrated her the script and she knew that her role was restricted to few scenes and two songs. Rashmika also said that she revealed the same to Vijay during the shoot of Varisu. The film did not help the actress because of her restricted role. Varisu that released as Vaarasudu in Telugu states and it ended up as a below-average grosser. The family entertainer was directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju.

Dil Raju’s grand bash for Vijay

1

Top producer Dil Raju produced his first Tamil film Varisu which featured Vijay in the lead role. The film did fantastic business during the Sankranthi season in Tamil. The film failed to grab the attention across the Telugu states because of the biggies Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy. Dil Raju tried hard to bring Vijay for the Telugu promotions and the grand pre-release event was canceled as Vijay was hesitant. Now Dil Raju after the film turned out to be a success arranged a grand bash in Hyderabad.

The grand party will have limited guests and it would be hosted by his family. The team of Varisu along with the close friends of Dil Raju will be present for the bash today evening in Hyderabad. Varisu is a family entertainer directed by Vamshi Paidipally and the film had Vijay, Rashmika Mandanna, Sarathkumar, Jayasudha, Srikanth, Shyam and Prakash Raj playing the lead roles. Vijay is currently shooting for Lokesh Kanagaraj’s untitled action entertainer and the film releases next year.

Varisu Budget: Dil Raju’s calculation goes wrong

Vamshi Paidipally is one director who directed films like Munna, Brundavanam, Yevadu, Oopiri and Maharshi. All the films are made on lavish budgets and there are complaints that the budgets went overboard and Vamshi never completed the films on the planned budgets. Dil Raju who shares a great bonding with Vamshi produced most of his films. Their next combo is Varisu and it has Tamil Superstar Vijay in the lead role. Varisu is planned to be completed in 100 working days and on a planned budget.

The final budget was Rs 30 crores higher than the planned budget and Vamshi had shot 45-50 days more than the planned working days for Varisu. Dil Raju had to pocket more than Rs 50 crores before the film’s release. Now, he will have to rely on the theatrical overflows to make good profits for the big investment he has made. The film also has to make good profits in Telugu for Dil Raju to witness handsome profits through Varisu. The film has Vijay, Rashmika Mandanna, Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Srikanth, Shyam in the lead roles. Thaman scored the music and the film releases during Sankranthi 2023.

Dil Raju and his Unlimited Controversies

Top producer Dil Raju scored a series of hits and reached a rock-solid place in Telugu cinema as a producer and as a distributor. But he has been in news for the wrong reasons from the past few months. His unusual statements triggered criticism and he was trolled badly. A couple of years ago, Dil Raju himself made strong statements that the theatres should be given on a priority basis for straight Telugu films and not dubbed films. He recently played a crucial role in the Producers Strike which ended up as a huge misfire. All the top actors of Telugu cinema are left in stress by Dil Raju’s acts during that time.

He is in news from the past few weeks about the theatre allocation for Vijay’s Varisu which was presented as a dubbed film. Two straight Telugu biggies Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy are releasing during the Sankranthi season. Most of the exhibitors and distributors are furious on Dil Raju for holding a major number of screens for Varisu which is beyond the market of Vijay. The issue would be soon settled after Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna intervenes in this. Dil Raju turned out to be a point of discussion for his acts and controversies.

In his recent interview, Dil Raju himself revealed that he is a brand because of which he is targeted which is not true. His loose tongue is now a point of discussion across the Telugu states. He turned out to be a point of discussion on the sets of several films. All the top heroes are closely watching out his statements. In his recent interview, Dil Raju’s statement said that Vijay is a bigger actor than Ajith. Ajith’s fans are quite furious on the Tollywood producer for his statement. He is trolled badly on Twitter for the same. Dil Raju also said that he will soon fly to Chennai to request more screens for Varisu.

Tollywood fans are questioning Dil Raju about the same. When there are big actors like Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna, how could Dil Raju block more screens for Vijay in AP and Telangana? Instead of overlooking his recent statements and controversies, Dil Raju issued a statement that he is targeted so much because he looks glamorous. Netizens are laughing out loud about this.

Frankly speaking, Vijay’s Vaarasudu is not even considered across the Telugu states when the films of Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna are in the race. Vaarasudu may get attention if the trailer sounds impressive. May be, Dil Raju is seriously trying hard to bring buzz for Vaarasudu through his controversial statements. For now, Dil Raju is trying hard to stand in news and he is not much bothered about whatever the controversy is. This is a strange side of the Tollywood’s successful producer as he is standing more in news through controversies than making more and more films.

Is Dil Raju overhyping Vaarasudu?

1

Dil Raju is left in a tight spot because of his previous comments he made on dubbing films. His next film Varisu is getting ready for a record release. Because of his hold in the exhibition sector, Dil Raju blocked a major number of screens in Nizam and Vizag regions for the film. He is facing the heat from all the corners now. He has to allocate screens for Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya and Balakrishna’s Veerasimha Reddy. For the first time, Dil Raju is facing the heat from the exhibitors and the distributors. With Dil Raju blocking record number of screens, the exhibitors aren’t happy with his move. They are not able to raise their voice as Dil Raju is the top distributor and he has a heap of films lined up for release as a distributor.

Most of them feel that Dil Raju is overhyping Vaarasudu. Vijay is sure a top actor in Tamil. But the audience are not ready to rush to watch Vaarasudu when they have options like Waltair Veerayya and Veerasimha Reddy. Allocating more number of screens beyond the market or potential of Vijay is sure not a wise move from Dil Raju. He may be super confident on the film but actors like Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna would be watching things closely. Some of the exhibitors are not ready to allocate screens for Vaarasudu during the crucial holiday season. Dil Raju’s move is badly opposed across the circles of Telugu cinema.

It may be a blind gamble or Dil Raju might wish to prove his hold in distribution, but it is a bad move from Dil Raju. He is just overhyping Vaarasudu which hardly generated any hype across the Tollywood audience.

Dil Raju responds about Varisu controversy

0

Top producer Dil Raju is in news because of Varisu, a Telugu and Tamil bilingual directed by Vamshi Paidipally. The past statements of Dil Raju left him in trouble and the top producer remained tightlipped though he was targeted or criticized. For the first time, Dil Raju responded about the controversy over Sankranthi 2023 releases during his interview. He said that all is well between the producers of upcoming Sankranthi releases and some people have been willingly making it a controversy.

“I announced that Vijay’s Varisu will release for Sankranthi 2023 long ago. After this, Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya joined the Sankranthi race. Balakrishna’s Veerasimha Reddy was planned for December release but it landed in Sankranthi race because of the delay in the shoot. There are enough number of screens to accommodate all the three films during the holiday season. I am in constant touch with Mythri Naveen and his team about the release planning. They are releasing their films on their own in Nizam. Some of them wanted to make this an issue. Mythri Movie Makers never complained in the Producers Council but some of them in the Council have created the controversy” told Dil Raju.

“I have leased out 37 screens out of the 420 screens in Nizam. Asian Sunil holds 100 screens and other screens are run by the owners. We have a good hold in the distribution circles and the exhibitors will offer their screens to me on a priority basis. There is no problem between Mythri Movie Makers and me” told Dil Raju.

Dil Raju’s new strategy for Varisu

1

Top producer Dil Raju is left in a spot because of his upcoming release Varisu. The film is presented as a Tamil film and the Telugu Producers Council issued a statement to allocate theatres for straight Telugu movies Waltair Veerayya and Veerasimha Reddy. Though there is lot going on in Tollywood over the past three weeks, Dil Raju remained tightlipped about the same. Despite speculations surrounding him, Dil Raju is going ahead with his work. He is busy with the shoot of Varisu and the last schedule is happening in Chennai. Dil Raju is active on the sets and he is also monitoring the shoot of Ram Charan’s next with Shankar which is progressing in New Zealand.

With the release dates of Waltair Veerayya and Veerasimha Reddy yet to be announced, Dil Raju has plans of releasing Varisu on January 12th. If there is a clash with any of the films, Varisu release will be pushed by a day. Dil Raju has to be in good books with Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna. He should land into trouble by blocking too many theatres for Varisu. For this, he asked the distributors to allocate the screens according to the strength of Vijay’s market. He is in no mood to land into controversy. He explained about the situation in Telugu states to Vijay in advance. The actor too is ready to take a call as per Dil Raju as the release date nears.

Dil Raju is now planning a perfect strategy for Varisu. He is not distributing any of the other Sankranthi releases this year.

Vijay’s Varisu lands into Trouble

0

Thalapathy Vijay’s next film Varisu is a bilingual and the film will have a theatrical release during the Sankranthi 2023 season. The Animal Welfare Board issued notices to the makers of Varisu for not getting all the proper pre-shoot permissions to shoot with elephants in the film. The makers have been asked an explanation about the same. Five elephants are used for the film shoot in Varisu. Sri Venkateswara Creations will have to submit a full and comprehensive explanation on all the violations within seven days after receiving the letter.

The Animal Welfare Board of India also clarified that necessary action would be taken if the explanation is not sent. Varisu is a family entertainer directed by Vamshi Paidipally. Vijay, Rashmika Mandanna, Sarath Kumar and Prabhu played the lead roles in this film. Dil Raju is the producer and Thaman scored the music. The film is carrying huge expectations and the shooting portions are expected to be completed by the end of this month.

Varisu controversy takes a new Turn

0

Top Tollywood producer Dil Raju has been facing the heat because of his upcoming movie Varisu. Dil Raju himself called it a Tamil film during the shoot and the Telugu Producers Council asked the producer to allocate theatres for straight Telugu movies like Waltair Veerayya and Veerasimha Reddy. Dil Raju has been tightlipped about the issue and he is busy planning a wide release for Vaarasudu across the Telugu states. The exhibitors too are quite interested to screen Telugu films instead of Vaarasudu.

The Tamil directors and producers are now furious over the move of the Telugu Producers Council. They are in plans to conduct a meeting on November 22nd to discuss about the issue. They feel that Telugu films are given enough number of screens in Tamil Nadu and they are keen to stall the release of Telugu films in the future if Varisu release comes to a halt in Telugu. The Tamil Film Producers will meet to discuss and take a call about the issue. Varisu controversy is taking a new turn. All the three films Waltair Veerayya, Veerasimha Reddy and Varisu are in the final stages of shoot.

Tough battle for theatres during Sankranthi 2023

1

A couple of years ago, there were debates on about allocating theatres for a dubbed film during the Sankranthi season. Now the same situation is getting repeated for Sankranthi 2023. Dil Raju who is the producer of Vijay’s Varisu blocked several good screens in Nizam and Vizag regions for the film. Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya and Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy are the films hitting the screens during the season. There are talks that Varisu will comparatively get more number of screens for Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy. This is because of the hold of Dil Raju in the distribution system across the Telugu states.

Tollywood exhibitors will prefer to screen Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy as they are straight Telugu films and have veteran actors playing the lead roles. But the agreements are done for Varisu. Mythri Movie Makers is producing Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy and they are releasing both these films on their own. There would be a tough battle in the allocation of the screens during the season. Ajith’s Thunivu too is releasing during the season and Dil Raju will distribute the film. For Sankranthi 2023, there would be two straight Telugu films and two dubbed films.

Vaarasudu’s Ranjithame: A Full-on Mass Song

0

Vijay’s Telugu debut film Vaarasudu directed by Vamshi Paidipally under Sri Venkateswara Creations is nearing completion. Being made on a large scale, the movie stars Rashmika Mandanna as Vijay’s love interest. The first single Ranjithame from the film’s Tamil version Varisu is unveiled.

The specialty of this song is Vijay has also lent vocals for it. Although Vijay sang a few songs earlier, Ranjithame is a full-on mass song. Vijay’s singing is truly impressive. Alongside him, the song was sung by MM Manasi. Shot on vibrant sets, the visuals look lively.

Vijay is one of the finest dancers and his stylish dance moves provide a feast to the eyes. Rashmika Mandanna is equally superb in the song. The Telugu song will be released soon.

Vaarasudu is slated for Sankranthi release in Telugu and Tamil.

Varisu / Vaarasudu Overseas Rights goes for a record price

Varisu / Varasudu Overseas Rights have been sold for an All-Time Record price for a Kollywood film. The film has been sold for 38 cr (4.6 Million USD) in the Overseas region which is the highest ever beating Darbar (35 Cr). It needs to collect at least 10 Million gross in the Overseas markets to achieve breakeven for the buyer. Films like 2.0, and PS-1 are own release by the producers.

Tamil market Overseas is not just limited to US/AUS/UK/Gulf like Telugu films as they have a wider population in Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, France/Europe, etc.

Vijay’s previous films like Mersal, and Bigil have collected more than 10 Million gross in the Overseas markets. So the recovery isn’t difficult with positive word of mouth for the film.
