After a brief gap, star heroine Anushka has signed yet another horror thriller film after Bhaagamathie. Titled Silence, the film stars Madhavan, Anjali, Subbaraju, Shalini Pandey, Srinivas Avasarala and Hollywood star Michael Madsen in key roles.

Now, the latest update is that Anushka will be seen as an NRI lady and Anjali will be portraying an investigative police officer role in this film. Regular shooting of the film will kick-start in the US in March. Noted AD filmmaker Hemant Madhukar is helming the project.

Kona Venkat and People Media Factory’s TG Vishwaprasad are jointly funding the film. Gopi Sundar will score the music.

In a male dominated industry, it’s not easy for an actress to reach 50 crore returns in Box Office. But Anushka is the only actress who could reach the milestone among Tollywood biggies. Her recent release Bhaagamathi is a perfect example of this.

Though the film is delayed in shooting and other technical glitches, it remains to be the biggest hits this year. In fact, it even surpassed the returns of her earlier flick Arundhati. With the tremendous stardom she had achieved, somehow she isn’t doing films in a pace she is expected to.

After Baahubali, she hasn’t signed a big project which is bringing speculations in the film industry. What is stopping her from making more films after such success? Some say that she is busy in reducing weight and getting in much shape. Some also said that she will sign up a Tamil remake but even that also seems to be untrue. The only film she has signed up is one of the roles in Gautam Menon’s multistarrer which is not of her cadre.

The latest news we hear is that the actress is considered for the Telugu remake of Tamil blockbuster Naachiyaar. This Bala directorial released recently and gained positive response. Kalpana Koneru acquired the Telugu dubbing rights of the film but director Bala suggested it to remake with Anushka.
