Confirmation soon for Tamil release of Balakrishna-starrer ‘Akhanda’

A report has said that the Tamil-dubbed version of “Akhanda” is all set to hit the screens this Friday in Tamil Nadu.

Starring popular Telugu actor Balakrishna in the lead role, directed by Boyapati Srinu, “Akhanda” has been streaming in Telugu on Disney+Hotstar.

Even though “Akhanda” is available on OTT, the movie is planned to be released in theatres in order to capitalise on the existing buzz.

While there is an ambiguity about the dubbed version’s release, it is even said that the movie’s Telugu version will be released in Tamil Nadu.

The makers are yet to clarify the same.

There are no straight Tamil films coming out this week due to the pandemic, so Tamil Nadu distributors have shown interest in the movie “Akhanda”, which can be called a blockbuster hit in Telugu.

There is a possibility that the movie will be dubbed into other languages soon after the Tamil release.

Pragya Jaiswal appears as the heroine in the mass entertainer, while Srikanth and other actors are in significant roles.

Balakrishna’s dynamic role in the movie is lauded by the Telugu audience, while SS Thaman’s music still stays as one of the biggest highlights about “Akhanda”.

The Hyderabad Traffic Police has used a scene from director Boyapati Srinu’s blockbuster film ‘Akhanda’, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna and Pragya Jaiswal, to underline the importance of wearing seat belts while driving.

The film has a scene in which Balakrishna and Pragya Jaiswal are seen travelling together in a four-wheeler. Balakrishna, who is driving the vehicle, is forced to suddenly apply the brakes on the vehicle, to avoid colliding with a lorry.

As a result, Pragya is about to hit her head on the windshield when Balakrishna saves her. He then urges her to wear her seat belt and says, “Life is precious.”The Hyderabad police have picked this scene and have now posted it on their Twitter handle with the message, “No Matter How Far, No Matter Whose Car, Always Buckle Up!”

Apart from tweeting this message with the hashtags #WearASeatBelt, they also thanked both the director and the hero of the film for the message.They tweeted, “Thank you Nandamuri Balakrishna garu and Boyapati Srinu garu for promoting Road Safety. #Akhanda.”

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s last outing Akhanda directed by Boyapati Sreenu under Dwaraka Creations has completed 50 days run in 103 centres. The team celebrated the occasion in Sudarshan 35 MM at RTC X Roads.

Boyapati Sreenu thanked the Telugu audience for making Akhanda such a huge blockbuster and he stated the team dedicates the success to Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. He further requested the audience to lend the same support for his next projects as well.

Balakrishna stated that the team is celebrating fourth occasion. “While the first celebration was on release day, the second one was English New Year, the third one was Sankranthi and the fourth one is 50 days celebrations, that is today. Boyapati and I happened to work together with the blessings of NTR and god. We delivered hat-trick hits. Akhanda actually described the greatness of Hindu Dharma. It’s not a Pan India film, but a Pan world movie.”

Balakrishna’s ‘Akhanda’ completes 50 days in theatres successfully

Director Boyapati Sreenu’s ‘Akhanda’, featuring Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead, has successfully completed a 50-day run in theatres.

Sources close to the unit claimed that the film had accomplished the feat in 103 centres. ‘Akhanda’, which has been made on a budget believed to be the highest ever for a Balakrishna film, has done a roaring business of Rs 200 crore. This includes theatrical gross and non-theatrical revenues.

Director Boyapati Sreenu and Balakrishna’s combination is proving to be a formidable one as this is the third consecutive blockbuster that the two have managed to deliver together, the other two blockbusters being ‘Simhaa’ and ‘Legend’.

The makers claim that ‘Akhanda’ has provided huge profits to not just the producer but all the distributors as well. The film has been doing exceptionally well overseas too. It recently touched the million-dollar-mark in the US.

‘Akhanda’, which has Pragya Jaiswal playing the female lead, features Srikanth as the antagonist and Jagapathi Babu in a vital role. It has music by Thaman and cinematography by C Ram Prasad.

Ask anyone in the film and political circles, where does Nandamuri Balakrishna spend his Sankranthi? Pat comes the reply: in Kuppam’s Naravaripalle along with Chandrababu Naidu and his family. This has been the wont of Balayya Babu for years. But, this time around, BalayyaBabu was in Karamchedu to celebrate the festivities with his other brother-in-law Daggubati Venkateswara Rao and sister Daggubati Purandeswari

Now political watchers are trying to dig out some purpose to this visit to Karamchedu. Why did Balayya go to Karamchedu? Is there a political angle to it? It may be recalled that both Chandrababu and Daggubati Venkateswara Rao met at a family function after a gap of 25 years. They spoke warmly to each other and there were guestimates that the two could come together one more time. But, the rumors died a natural death and everything is normal since then.

Now the buzz is that Balayya Babu is playing the mediator to bring both the “bavas” together. Especially after Nara Bhuvaneswari’s name was unnecessarily dragged into a wholly nasty controversy, the NTR family feels that the family should put on a united front.

Daggubati Venkateswara Rao, who was last in the YSRCP, is politically inactive. Purandeswari is in the BJP. But, both want their son to shine in politics. Last time, their son almost got the YSRCP ticket, but citizenship issues forced him to back off. Now Balayya Babu, who wants the NTR family to stay united, is said to be busy patching up things. This could be the reason for his Sankranthi visit to Karamchedu, say sources.

Gopichand Malineni ,who is also a big fan of Balakrishna, is planning to give Jai Balayya as title for this movie. It is known news that Jai balayya song in Akhanda movie was super duper hit. It is a common trend to pick the titles from super hit songs of the same hero. Earlier Chiranjeevi had a title ‘Bavagaru Bagunnara’ for his movie which was actually a hit song from his previous movie Master.

Earlier Chiranjeevi too had a similar title Jai Chiranjeeva but the movie was an average hit. We need to wait and see whether the makers will finalize this Jai Balayya title or not.

Right from Chiranjeevi to Pawan Kalyan, Balakrishna and Venkatesh, all the top actors of Telugu cinema are not in a mood to be present on the sets of their upcoming films after the new cases of coronavirus due to the Omicron variant kept rising in the country. The shoots of several films have been called off in the recent week after the positive cases are reported among the crew members. Megastar decided to restrict himself to his home for the next few weeks and take up meetings through Zoom calls. Venkatesh flew to USA for a short vacation and he would return back to work once things turn normal. Balakrishna is busy with the pre-production work of his next and the shooting schedules are pushed for now.

Pawan Kalyan is back from Russia and the actor is yet to return back to work. He wanted the shoot of Hari Hara Veera Mallu to be pushed for now. Mahesh Babu is tested positive for Covid-19 and is in home isolation. Actors like NTR, Ram Charan and Allu Arjun are on a break and are spending time with family after months of hectic shoots. Several young actors of Tollywood have canceled the upcoming schedules that are planned in January and February. There are many actors and technicians tested positive for Covid-19 in the recent week. For now, the shoots of Telugu films are kept on hold and the actors will return back to work once things turn normal.

Balakrishna meets Harish Rao, what’s up?

Actor and TDP MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna met Telangana finance minister T.Harish Rao on Monday (today) in Hyderabad. Balayya’s sudden meeting with Harish Rao fuelled political speculations.

However, TRS sources clarified that the meeting has nothing to do with politics and Balakrishna met Harish Rao in his capacity as chairman of Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute located in Jubilee Hills.

During the meeting Balakrishna has explained various services provided by the hosptial and its activities. Further he also brought several issues concerning to development of hospital to the notice of Harish Rao and urged him to extend necessary support from the Telangana government. Harish Rao reportedly has responded positively to the representations made by Balakrishna and assured that he will take this to the notice of Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao.

Sources said Balakrishna sought few tax concessions from Telangana government for the development of cancer hospital on the ground that the hospital was offering quality medical services for poor and needy for either free or for nominal rates.

Balakrishna had earlier met KCR in January 2016 on the same issues. KCR had promised to extend all the benefits which Balakrishna had sought then. But few reportedly are still pending.

For this reason, Balakrishna met Harish Rao and reminded him about the KCR’s promises made earlier.

When I heard the news that you are getting married, I asked who is the heroine that Rana is getting married to? They told that the girl is an outsider and not from the industry. What is this twist Rana?” questioned Balayya.

Rana replied on a funny note that it did not work out from the industry. When Balayya asked how many Rana rejected, the youngster replied that there are so many who rejected him.

The one-hour episode is just packed with unlimited fun. Rana appreciated the hosting skills of Balakrishna and Balayya called Rana one of the most talented youngsters.

Akhanda has emerged as a Blockbuster as the film has collected a distributor share of 68 Cr Worldwide by the end of 34 days of its run. The business of the film is almost closing but it is sustaining collections at low levels. There is a chance for the film to add some share during Sankranthi as well as it will still run in main centers. This is the highest collected film of Balakrishna by more than 35 percent margin (the previous highest is GPSK: 49.75 Cr Share).

The film is a huge blockbuster for Nizam buyers with 60 percent profits. The collections of the film in AP were hit by the ticket cap where it lost at least 15 Cr distributor share. The film is having a very good run without weekly deficits at main centers which is excellent. Even Overseas, the film is a huge blockbuster with 100% profits for the buyers. It has collected more than 1 Million gross in the USA alone which is outstanding for a mass film.
