After verbal attack, KCR, Modi to come face-to-face

1

Barely days after he made the most strident attack on Modi and the Central Government, Telangana CM KCR is all set to face him and even share the state with him. It would be interesting to watch how both the leaders conduct themselves after the vituperative verbal attack of KCR. Will they keep aside their differences or will they show up even in the two programmes that they are like to be together?

Modi will be in Hyderabad on Saturday (February 5) to take part in the golden jubilee of agricultural research centre ICRISAT in Patancheru and also to unveil the giant statue of Sri Ramanuja at Muchintal near Shamshabad. Whether KCR will go to receive Modi or will he share the stage with Modi in both Patancheru and Muchintal is being eagerly watched.

Poll watchers are also eagerly watching how both the leaders conduct themselves especially after KCR made a stinging attack hurling even harsh words on the issue of budgetary allocations. He also used choicest abuses at the BJP. The buzz is that Chinna Jeeyar Swami could play mediator between the two leaders to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme.

The meeting also assumes significance especially in view of the attempts of KCR to forge a federal front with the like-minded regional parties. Interestingly, Tamil Nadu CM Stalin too is calling for a meeting of several regional parties soon to take on the centre.

Jagan earns ‘sincere CM’ tag from PM Modi!

4

Like a sincere student who attends classes regularly and promptly and listens to their masters carefully, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy appears to have earned the tag of a “Sincere CM” from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

PM Modi on Saturday (today) convened a video conference with CMs of all States to review the implementation of central government’s schemes in aspirational districts, which are also called backward districts in the country.

Not even CMs of five states attended the PM’s video conference.

Only four CMs attended the video conference of whom one is Jagan. The others are CMs of Karnataka, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh. While Karnataka and Gujarat CMs were from PM’s own party BJP, Chhattisgarh CM was from Congress.

The BJP is in power in more than 20 states but just two BJP CMs attended.

Modi too reportedly surprised to see Jagan attending all his video conferences promptly. Modi even praised Jagan for attending the meeting held on the weekend, which is generally a holiday and Modi said it shows the interest CM Jagan has towards the development of backward districts in his state AP.

Modi praised Jagan as other Telugu CM KCR from Telangana is skipping all the video conferences held by PM. KCR skipped PM’s video conference on Covid on January 13 and also videoconference held by PM on Saturday. KCR asked Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to attend the PM’s meetings on his behalf. Jagan attended all the video conferences of PM without fail.

India Today Survey: Will Modi factor have effect on 5 poll-bound states?

0

Here’s a bad news for all the Modi baiters, who want to see his back in 2024. His popularity rates are not only still intact but are in fact growing. He is still without doubt the tallest leader in the country and others are nowhere near him. If the latest Mood of the Nation survey of the C-Voter-Indian Today is any indication, Modi is well on course for a third term and the NDA would easily get 286 seats in 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Also, Modi’s popularity ratings are up from 53 per cent in August 2021 to 59 per cent. The popularity of the NDA government to is up from 53 per cent to 59 per cent. The survey also says that the Congress could get up to 62 seats, marginally up by 9 seats over 2019 elections. The UPA, according to the survey would not get more than 127 and the others would be around 120 if the elections are held now.

But there is one interesting aspect in the MOTN survey of India Today. The opposition to Modi too is gathering momentum. The August 2021 survey said that 17 per cent of the voters were dissatisfied by Modi rule. The latest survey says the percentage has gone up to 26 per cent. Thus, the interesting spectacle is that both the support and opposition to Modi are equally growing – support by 6 percentage points and opposition by 9 percentage points.

But, what will happen in the five states that are going to polls? Will Modi’s charisma affect the performance of the state election outcome? The survey says that none of the incumbent CMs, including Yogi Adityanath, have more than 50 percent approval ratings. So Modi factor may not have its impact on the states. So, let’s wait for the actual elections to be held and the real results to come out.

Modi’s Twitter account hacked with Bitcoin post, restored

0

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s personal Twitter handle was restored after getting “very briefly compromised,” the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a tweet on Sunday, after it shared a link promising a bitcoin giveaway.

“The Twitter handle of PM @narendramodi was very briefly compromised. The matter was escalated to Twitter and the account has been immediately secured. In the brief period that the account was compromised, any tweet shared must be ignored,” PMO India said in a tweet.

The account of Modi, who has more than 73.4 million followers, has now been restored.

Before the account was restored, a tweet was shared with a URL on PM Modi’s timeline which read, “India has officially adopted bitcoin as legal tender. The government has officially bought 500 BTC and is distributing them to all residents of the country.”

Minutes later, another tweet was posted, saying, “Yes this account is hacked by John Wick (hckindia@tutanota.com), We have not hacked Paytm Mall.”

“We have 24X7 open lines of communication with the PM’s Office and our teams took necessary steps to secure the compromised account as soon as we became aware of this activity. Our investigation has revealed that there are no signs of any other impacted accounts at this time,” Twitter spokesperson told IANS.

After Prime Minister Modi’s account was compromised, #Hacked began trending in India.

“Good Morning Modi ji, Sab Changa Si?,” Srinivas BV, the national president of the Indian Youth Congress, tweeted.

“Was the Twitter account of the Hon’ble PM shri #NarendraModi ji hacked? And promise of #Bitcoin !!” tweeted political activist Tehseen Poonawalla.

Another user warned others about the link. “#PMmodi #modi account #hacked, please do not click on the link. It’s a scam. … Even PM’s account is not safe. How safe will be Indian social media from hackers, manipulators, scammers and foreign influence? #Twitter verified security compromised?”

Earlier, in September 2020, the Twitter account linked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s personal website and mobile app was hacked by an unknown group with a series of tweets asking followers to donate to a relief fund through cryptocurrency.

TRS takes credit for Modi withdrawing farm laws!

0

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced to repeal the Centre’s three controversial farm laws.

Modi made this statement while addressing the nation on Friday morning (today).

Modi said he has decided to scrap the farm laws taking into consideration the agitations being held by farmers unions in several states for the past one year demanding repeal of farm laws.

However, the ruling TRS took credit for Modi backtracking on farm laws.

This is because Modi’s statement came within 24 hours of Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao holding dharna on farmers’ issues at Indira Park on Thursday along with his entire cabinet ministers, TRS MLAs, MLCs and MPs.

KCR threatened to intensify agitation at national-level if Modi fails to procure paddy from Telangana and also withdraw farm laws.

TRS leaders say KCR’s agitation has forced Modi to reconsider his decision on farm laws and forced to withdraw farm laws.

TRS leaders claim that is the power of KCR who achieved Telangana state with agitations and has now achieved withdrawal of farm laws with the same agitation programmes.

Know how rich our Prime Minister is?

0

Everyone wants to know how rich India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is. Well! Like every year, Modi has uploaded the details of his assets and properties online. Over the last year, Modi’s assets grew by Rs 22 lakh. This rise is due to the appreciation of the assets. The total assets of PM Modi are Rs 3.02 crore. Last year, his properties were counted at Rs 2.85 crore.

Ever since he became the prime minister, Modi has been uploading the details of his assets. Modi has no investments in the share market and does not own a car. Modi has Rs 8.93 lakh worth of national savings certificates and Rs 1.50lakh worth of an LIC policy. He has invested in the L and T infrastructure fund. He has invested Rs 20000 way back in 2012. He owns four gold rings worth Rs 1.48 lakh.

Modi is the co-owner of a 14.125 sq ft of land along with three others. His share is 3531. When he purchased the land, it cost Rs 1.20 lakh. The land is in the Gandhinagar area in Gujarat. He has FDs worth 1.8 crore. This was worth Rs 1.6 crore last year. The growth in his income is mainly due to this. He has a bank balance of Rs 1.5 lakh and cash on hand is about Rs 38000.

Modi perhaps is the first prime minister to reveal his assets and properties every year. Declaration of politician’s asset is an idea that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has begun. Modi has been following this.

Modi meets Harris ahead of first-ever in-person Quad summit

0

Black on white, white on black. At 3:19 p.m. Thursday, when America’s first ever Indian American Vice President Kamala Harris welcomed India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave for the first time after taking power in the 2020 elections, it was a striking visual for a historic moment, blending austere monochrome with the all-white backdrop of the White House pillars.

Both wore masks – Modi white and Harris black. Harris dressed in a sleek black and white pantsuit, and sported her string of trusty pearls. Modi arrived in a crisp, milky white kurta ensemble with a black Nehru jacket, teamed with black shoes. Harris began about 5 minutes of remarks noting the passage of time since Modi was here last.

“It is my understanding that this is your first trip outside of South Asia for at least the last 16 months,” she said.

Back then, Donald Trump was US president, his Twitter megaphone was a riot, Covid-19 hadn’t exploded, masks weren’t yet a cultural flashpoint, Modi and Trump headlined a “Howdy, Modi!” rally in Houston, drawing over 50,000 people.

Trump is gone now, Biden has pulled US troops from Afghanistan, US, Britain and Australia stunned France by cutting a multibillion-dollar contract to acquire US nuclear-powered vessels. The political contrasts are sharp, Chinese aggression is rising, global contradictions are shifting, flexible multi alignments are on the ascendant.

Biden’s deputy Harris spoke first today, invoking themes that will be on full display on Friday, at the first-ever leader level Quad summit. Fragility, cooperation and resilience were on the table in the context of the Indo-Pacific.

“And as it relates to the Indo-Pacific, the US, like India, feels very strongly about the pride of being a member of the Indo-Pacific, but also the fragility and the importance and strength as well of those relationships, including maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific,” Harris said.

Harris thanked Modi for cooperation on Covid-19 vaccines.

“Early in the pandemic, India was a vital source of vaccines for other countries. When India experienced a surge of Covid in the country, the US was very proud to support India in its need and responsibility to vaccinate its people,” she said.

India’s vaccination effort came in for special mention.

“It is of particular note and admiration that India, I’m told, is currently vaccinating approximately 10 million people a day, as of today,” Harris noted.

Modi began speaking at 3:24 p.m., checking off many of the same boxes.

“India was confronted with the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic — a very difficult time for us. But so — like a family, the sense of kinship and so warmly you extended a helping hand, the words that you chose when you spoke to me — I will always remember that, and I’d like to thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he told Harris.

Modi invited Harris to India, to continue “this journey of victory”. India, he said, is “waiting to welcome you”.

Whenever Kamala Harris touches down in India, it will be a standout journey for the idea of the Indian diaspora’s promise. Her rise was made possible by another audacious traveller – her mother Shyamala Gopalan, who arrived in America as a 19-year-old in 1958, on an academic scholarship.

Modi spoke to that potential today. “Excellency, between India and the US, there are very vibrant and strong people-to-people connections that we have. You know that all too well,” he said.

“More than 4 million people of Indian origin, the Indian community is a bridge between our two countries — a bridge of friendship. And their contribution to the economies and societies of both our countries is indeed very praiseworthy.”

Kishan Reddy’s TV interviews confirm Modi-KCR bonding!

0

The only union cabinet minister from the Telugu States in Narendra Modi government, G.Kishan Reddy is on a spree of giving interviews to all major Telugu news channels for the past three days.

The common question being encountered by Kishan Reddy in all these interviews is about ‘bonding’ and ‘secret ties’ between Prime Minister Narendra Modi, union home minister Amit Shah and Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao.

Kishan Reddy’s answers to the questions raised by journalists in these interviews give clear indications that there is no confrontation between TRS and BJP at the national-level but there is only ‘street fight’ between TRS and BJP in Telangana.

On one hand, BJP Telangana president Bandi Sanjay is undertaking padayatra in Telangana for the past two weeks attacking KCR and TRS every day stating that BJP will send KCR to jail for corruption in irrigation projects and land dealings.

When journalists asked Kishan Reddy about BJP sending KCR to jail, he answered, “There is no evidence with the Centre on KCR’s corruption to send him to jail.”

Kishan Reddy in turn asked journalists to give such evidence if any to him so that he can examine and take suitable action.

This clearly shows that BJP national leadership has no intention to book corruption cases against KCR and send him to jail.

When journalists asked him “Do you think KCR indulged in that much corruption in the last seven years which can send him to jail?”, Kishan Reddy replied, “I can’t say he will go to jail or not but as of now there is no evidence available to prove corruption charges against KCR.”

Kishan Reddy’s answers to several questions in his interviews only suggest that BJP has no problem with TRS and KCR remaining in power in Telangana and they only want that Congress should not come to power in Telangana since BJP anyway has no strength to come to power in Telangana.

TRS is supporting BJP on all issues at the national-level and also in the Parliament. Why should Modi and Amit Shah target KCR and TRS then? is the opinion being expressed in political circles after watching Kishan Reddy’ interviews.

Rahul Gandhi-Amit Shah faceoff in Telangana on this September 17

0

September 17 will see a big face-off this time. Yes. The two second-in-command leaders in the two biggest parties in the country will be in Telangana. BJP’s biggest leader after Narendra Modi and union Home Minister Amit Shah and Congress Party’s past and future president Rahul Gandhi would be in Telangana on September 17. This will be a unique face-off for Telangana.

September 17 is an important date for the BJP as it is the Hyderabad Liberation Day from the yoke of Nizam and the Razakars. It is also the birth anniversary of BJP’s biggest icon Sardar Patel. More importantly, it is the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Amit Shah will join Bandi Sanjay’s Yatra and will address a massive public meeting in Kamareddy. Later, he would proceed to Nirmal, where he would address another meeting atop Nirmal fort. The location is important because it was here in 1857 that over a thousand freedom fighters were hanged from a banyan tree. The occasion, the location, the speaker and the yatra confirm the BJP’s ideological agenda.

Congress senior leader Rahul Gandhi too will visit Telangana on September 17. He would speak at a public meeting organised to mark the conclusion of the Dalit and Girijan conferences that the TPCC has been organising. The Congress is trying to gather around 5 lakh people for the occasion. The Congress is planning to launch its Mission 2023 on the occasion. The Congress leaders are already busy with the preparations for Rahul’s visit. This will be Rahul’s first visit to the state after October 2018. He is also likely to review the party’s organisation work and the visit is primarily intended to establish Revanth Reddy’s authority in the state Congress affairs.

So, expect a lot of political action on September 17 this time. The target of both the national parties would no doubt be the ruling TRS in Telangana. Let’s see how the TRS deflects the two-pronged attack.

KCR’s desperate bid to meet Modi, Shah in Delhi!

0

TRS chief and Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao who is in Delhi since September 1 is making desperate attempts to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union home minister Amit Shah.

As per original schedule, KCR should return to Hyderabad on Friday (today).

But TRS sources said KCR has decided to stay in Delhi till Sunday as he is trying to secure appointment to meet Modi and Shah.

The main purpose of KCR’s visit to Delhi was to lay foundation for TRS office in Delhi. The bhumi puja ceremony was conducted yesterday on a grand note.

At a time when Telangana BJP has intensified attack on KCR and TRS with TS BJP president Bandi Sanjay undertaking padayatra across TRS for the past one week, KCR trying to meet Modi and Shah assumes political significance.

KCR meeting them at this stage when Huzurabad by poll is round the corner where BJP and TRS are fighting a fierce battle.

KCR’s friend turned foe Etela Rajender from BJPis taking on TRS in Huzurabad by poll.

We have power to privatise VSP, dismiss petitions: Centre tells AP High Court

1

The Narendra Modi led government at the Centre made it clear that it has full powers to take decision on privatisation of any public sector units including Vizag Steel Plant (VSP).

The Centre submitted an affidavit to this effect in Andhra Pradesh High Court today (Wednesday).

Former CBI JD Laxminarayana filed a petition in High Court challenging Centre’s decision to privatise VSP.

The High Court had earlier directed Centre to file its affidavit on the issue.

The Centre in its committee claimed that a cabinet committee headed by PM Narendra Modi and comprising of home, commerce, industry ministers etc took a decision on January 17 this year to privatise VSP.

The Centre stated that it has full powers to take decisions on economic affairs of the country and courts cannot involve in these issues.

The Centre reminded previous Supreme Court judgment that courts should not involve in policy decisions of governments.

Against this backdrop, the Centre urged AP High Court to dismiss all petitions filed against privatisation of VSP.

Modi targets Jagan’s schemes

2

Here’s another Modi shocker to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Modi’s latest diktat has barred the state governments from using the Central funds only for the scheme or benefit intended. The funds cannt be transferred to another account and adjust the amounts later. This means that the state governments cannot use the funds meant for one scheme for implementing another scheme or programme.

This is sure to rankle YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Till now, his government has been diverting the Central funds meant for Central government schemes and use them for state-run schemes. Later, adjustments would be made in the account books. But, the Modi government’s latest decision has disallowed it. Now, the funds meant for a central government scheme should be spent only for the scheme intended. This would effectively put a check on the state governments. They will have to find financial resources for their own flagship schemes. Interestingly, as many as 20 state governments have given their nod for this new system. AP is yet to give its nod.

According to the latest decision of the Central government, it would initially give only 25 per cent of the funds. The remaining funds would be released only after the state government adds its share of 50 per cent and spend the amount. If the money is not spent, the remaining amounts would not be released. The latest decision will put a huge question mark on the continuance of some of AP Government’s schemes. The State will have to mobilize its own resources for its schemes.
It now remains to be seen how YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government mobilizes funds and continues its schemes. The government might be forced to levy more taxes on the people to support its Navaratna schemes, which are already draining the state’s economy. With the Centre tightening its fist, will it be possible to continue these schemes?

Modi-Shah’s tit-for-tat against YS Jagan for stalling Lok Sabha?

1

Is the BJP using the same weapon on its best buddy YS Jagan Mohan Reddy that it has used against its arch rival Mamta Banerjee? It appears so. The BJP is using the strategy that it has employed against Mamta Banerjee on the YSRCP government too. Significantly, this is coming barely days after the YSRCP MPs have stalled both houses of Parliament to cause trouble to the ruling BJP.

It appears the BJP has not taken kindly to YSRCP’s belligerence. The National SC Commission has taken cognisance of a complaint filed by the National SC, ST Hakkula Sangham, an RSS body, and has ordered an inquiry into the allegations of mass conversion in Andhra Pradesh. It wanted State government’s chief secretary Adityanath Das to submit a detailed report within 15 days. Given the unlimited powers of the National SC Commission, this is being viewed as an attempt by the BJP at the Centre to tighten the noose around the YS Jagan government.

Interestingly, though the complaint has been filed long back, the National SC Commission has acted only now. Under Article 338 of the Indian Constitution, the Commission has special powers. It can issue orders to the Chief Secretary of any state and the CS is bound to comply. The BJP has used the National SC Commission to tame Mamta Banerjee. Her anti-BJP actions such as post-poll attacks on the BJP workers have drastically come down ever since the Article 338 was invoked and the SC and ST Commission have sent notices to the Chief Secretary.

The BJP affiliated organisations are planning to give AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy a torrid time on the issue of mass conversion and the payment of Rs 5000 towards ex-gratia for the pastors in the state. The SC Hakkula Sangham is an unknown organisation, but it has links to the RSS. In the past, it has filed a complaint against IPS officer RS Praveen Kumar and forced him to apologise. It has also managed to cancel Gospel meetings in Parade Grounds which were to be graced by no less a person than KTR himself. Now the same weapon is being employed to target YS Jagan. Is this the BJP’s tit-for-tat against Jagan for daring to raise its voice in Parliament?

Finally, one sensible tweet from RGV, questioning Modi

1

Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma, who is known for controversial and sensational tweets, posted one sensible tweet questioning Modi on health facilities in the country. But, as always, he received mixed reaction from netizens. Details as follows.

It is known news that second wave of Corona virus hit the country hard and pulled down Modi’s image as the government could not contain the situation at appropriate time. RGV highlighted lack of medical facilities in the country and tweeted, “ Sirrr @narendramodi ji we have the worlds largest statue .We have worlds largest stadium. We had worlds largest election rallies. We had worlds largest religious gatherings . but we didnt have smallest medical facilities in 2nd wave. Will we have better in 3rd wave sir? “ . In fact RGV tweeted what was there in the minds of millions of Indians.

However, obviously Modi Bhakts criticised the tweet of RGV and blamed it on Congress party which ruled the country for decades. Some others pointed that health is a state subject and RGV should question YS Jagan and KCR if he really has guts. Some others reminded RGV, his previous statements that he has no intentions to serve people. But despite this negative comments from some, many people concurred with RGV questioning Modi.

Who will get cabinet berth from Telugu States in Modi govt?

0

National media is abuzz with possible cabinet reshuffle by Prime Minister Narendra Modi anytime soon.

This fueled speculations in Telugu States over who will get berth in Modi’s cabinet.

At present, only G Kishan Reddy from Telangana is in Modi cabinet as minister of state for home.

There is no one from AP. Since BJP is learnt to be focusing on Telugu States, local leaders are hoping to get cabinet berths.

But BJP circles say there is no possibility of someone from AP getting cabinet berth.

But they see possibility of Telangana BJP MPs getting berth.

Adilabad MP Soyam Baburao is said to be the frontrunner as BJP is aiming to come to power in Telangana in 2023 December Assembly polls.

Though Nizamabad MP Aravind is also in the race, it would be difficult for him as he hails from BC sections since BC leader and MP Bandi Sanjay was already made BJP Telangana president.

Pawan Kalyan in Modi Cabinet: Who created the rumour?

1

The biggest buzz in Telugu social media these days is that Pawan Kalyan is all set to become a Central Minister in Modi’s cabinet. There were rumours that he was leaving for Delhi to meet PM Modi. Though it was clear as crystal that Pawan Kalyan is busy as a bee in films, the rumour did rounds and even PK’s biggest supporters began believing it.

The fact is Pawan Kalyan has never confirmed it, nor was he approached by the media to verify the rumour. Neither the BJP nor the Jana Sena spoke about it. No BJP leader has ever said that there would be a cabinet expansion now. Nobody even tried to query as to how Pawan Kalyan would become a minister without becoming at least a Rajya Sabha member. Interestingly, neither the TDP, nor the BJP have the necessary numbers to send him to Rajya Sabha. The other states, where the BjP is in power, have their own long lists of aspirants for Rajya Sabha.

Moreover, with several films under various stages of production, how can Pawan Kalyan devote time for the ministry? Given the fact that Modi is a tough task master and asks for daily work reports from all ministers, can Pawan Kalyan be a mere ornamental minister? Yet, some even went to the extent of saying that both GVL and Sunil Deodhar have escorted Pawan Kalyan to Delhi. The reality is that Pawan did not stir out of his home.

So how did this rumour arise in the first place? Sources said a popular Telugu TV channel has re-published an old story of two years vintage. The people just saw the date of publication and started speculating. So powerful were the stories that even Pawan Kalyan’s media and PR teams too started believing them. It took some time for the people to realise that the media house was pushing a two-year-old story.

Jagan plea to Centre for more vaccine production

2

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has renewed his plea yet again that the Narendra Modi Government should resolve the problem of shortage of Covid vaccine in the States. Mr. Jagan Reddy told the Centre that only two companies were manufacturing vaccines as of now.

Amid this, the Central Government is required to come out with alternatives to increase vaccines production to meet the existing demand. It would require nearly 172 crore doses of Coronavirus vaccine to cover all those above 18 years of age in the country as on today.

Mr. Jagan Reddy said that till now, the Centre was able to give just 18 crore doses as against the requirement of 172 crore doses. In Andhra Pradesh alone, over 7 crore doses would be required to cover all those above 18 years. The Centre has given just 73 lakh doses to AP till today.

The CM said that the country has a production capacity of just 7 crore doses. The two companies are able to produce only this much quantity. Against this backdrop, the Centre should go for alternatives to bridge the gaps in vaccines supply.

YCP MPs write to Modi on Covid positivity rate

2

YCP MPs Avinash Reddy and Vallabhaneni Balashowry have placed a unique demand before PM Modi during this Coronavirus crisis. They urged the Prime Minister to remove the 28 percent GST on the ambulances immediately in the country. This was necessary to make ambulances available to rescue the people from the epidemic.

The MPs have written a letter to Modi, saying that there was an urgent need to convene the GST Council to take proper steps to provide relief to the people. They told the PM that the Covid cases were on the rise in AP. The positivity rate rose to 28.7 percent in just the Kadapa district alone.

The YCP MPs expressed concern that there was a greater threat being posed in view of the rapidly spreading infections. The positivity rate in the Kadapa district alone is expected to rise to 54.53 percent by the end of this month. This indicated the rate at which the virus was spreading all over.

The MPs also explained to Modi how the shortage of medical oxygen was claiming lives and wreaking havoc in AP right now. All the possible steps were needed to tide over the crisis.

Modi sarkar has failed to save people: Rahul Gandhi

3

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said that the Modi government has failed to provide relief to the public.

“No vaccine, no employment, public is suffering from corona, and Modi sarkar has absolutely failed,” he tweeted in Hindi.

Rahul Gandhi has been attacking the government and on Tuesday had said lockdown is the only option which was endorsed by Anand Sharma. “Endorse the call given by @RahulGandhi that a lockdown is the only option available, given the constant denial and false claims of the govt on the number of infections, deaths and shameful claims of no oxygen shortages when hundreds of Indians, including doctors, have died,” Sharma had said.

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi had on Tuesday said, the only way to stop the apocalyptic march of the pandemic was an immediate complete lockdown with the protection of NYAY scheme for the vulnerable sections.
