Raghuramakrishnam Raju is the most active parliamentarian in YSRCP

0

Most of the YSRCP MPs in Parliament are ending up as a disinterested lot in Lok Sabha. Their attendance is poor and their level of participation too is minimal. Interestingly, renegade YSRCP MP Raghuramakrishnam Raju is the best among the lot. In comparison, the TDP MPs are more active in the Lok Sabha.

According to the latest data released by PRS Legislative Research, an organisation that studies parliamentary and legislative affairs, Raghuramakrishnam Raju is the most active MP from AP. His attendance is a staggering 96 per cent. In fact, his performance as an MP is the best by any standards. He had taken party in as many as 50 debates and asked 145 questions.

The TDP has three MPs and the performance of all the three has been satisfactory. Guntur MP Galla Jayadev has 89 per cent attendance. He had taken part in 54 debates and asked 133 questions. Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani too has 89 per cent attendance. Srikakulam MP K Rammohan Naidu is a regular fixture in the parliamentary debates and is known for his oratorical skills in both English and Hindi.

Among the ruling party MPs, YS Jagan’s cousin YS Avinash Reddy has a poor record. His attendance is a mere 32 per cent. He had participated in only one debate during the last two years. Bapalta MP Nandigam Suresh too has 45 per cent attendance. He participated in one debate, but did not ask even one question. The better performing MP from the YSRCP is Kakinada MP Vanga Geetha Viswanath. She has participated in 37 debates and asked 173 questions.

Petition filed seeking cancellation of bail to YSRCP MP Vijayasai

1

YSRCP rebel MP K.Raghurama Krishna Raju continues to give sleepless nights to YSRCP top brass.

After filing petition seeking cancellation of bai granted too YSRCP chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, Raju filed a fresh petition in CBI court in Hyderabad today (Tuesday) seeking cancellation of bail granted to YSRCP Rajya Sabha member and Jagan’s close aide Vijayasai Reddy.

Raju said while Jagan is A1 (Accused No.1) in quid pro cases filed by CBI, Vijayasai Reddy is A2 (Accused No.2).

In his petition, Raju brought to the notice of the court that Vijaysai Reddy as MP is frequently meeting union ministers and officials in home and finance ministries and trying to create an impressing that he has ‘close links’ with home and finance ministers and officials and trying to ‘influence’ witnesses directly and indirectly with his acts and trying to create a sense of fear among witnesses.

Raju informed court that Vijayasai as MP has written a letter to union home minister Amit Shah seeking not to post an officer as CBI joint director, who was the prime investigation officer in Jagan’s illegal assets cases.

Raju said this amounts to involvement in the process of free and fair inquiry of the cases.

Meanwhile, the judgement on Jagan’s bail cancellation petition is expected to be delivered on August 25.

Will agitate on RRR disqualification, says Vijaya Sai, Netizens counter

1

YSRCP MP Vijaya sai Reddy tweeted recently that thier party is going to a agitate in the parliament if the Lok Sabhaspeaker further delays the decision of disqualifying Raghurama krishnam Raju. However, netizens countered his statement. Details as follows.

It is known news that Raghu Rama krishnam Raju has been criticizing YSRCP despite getting elected from the same party. Even though YSRCP government was able to snub other TDP leaders through arrests, Raghurama krishnam Raju proved his mettle and shocked YSRCP by getting bail from Supreme Court. With this , YSRCP leaders started focusing on getting Raghurama krishnam Raju disqualified from Lok Sabha. They have already given complaint to Lok Sabha speaker that Raghurama krishnam Raju has been taking part in anti- party activities and requested the speaker to disqualify him. However, Raghu Rama krishnam Raju seems to have taken all precautions and didn’t try anything that makes anti defection law applicable on him. So the speaker has been delaying the decision. Now Vijaya sai Reddy gave a sweet warning that if speaker doesn’t take decision, they will agitate in the parliament to pressurise the speaker.

However, netizens countered his statement and suggested Vijay sai Reddy to agitate on the issues that really matter to the people like- agitating for special status, assurances given during the bifurcation and the ongoing water issues instead of agitating on the issues like Raghu Rama krishnam Raju disqualification.

We need to wait and see whether Vijaya Sai will pay heed to such suggestions or will continue to work only for the benefit of their own party.

Raghurama makes YSRCP say ‘Ayyo Rama’

1

Till a few months ago, if a YSRCP MP met any union minister or Lok Sabha speaker, it was to raise the issues pertaining to state. But of late, the only reason why the YSRCP leaders are meeting the Central ministers, speaker or prime minister, there is only one reason. The reason is a white-clad tall man called Raghuramakrishnam Raju.

He has become a thorn in the flesh of the YSRCP, but YSRCP as of now doesn’t seem to know how to remove him. It has petitioned Speaker several times to take action against Raghuramakrishnam Raju for violating the provisions of the anti-defection law. MPs met Speaker Om Birla twice. Very recently, YSRCP parliamentary party leader Mithun Reddy met Om Birla to plead for the disqualification of Raghuramakrishnam Raju.

Despite YSRCP’s bonhomie with the BJP and despite Jagan’s friendship with Modi, the YSRCP is unable to get rid of Raju. It is now worried that Raju will rise issues in Parliament that will put the YSRCP in a spot. If a party member speaking against the party in Lok Sabha, it would be a huge embarrassment.

Even on Friday, YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP and party general secretary Vijaysai Reddy met Om Birla and petitioned about Raju’s ouster. However, from the body language of Vijaysai, it is clear that Om Birla’s response was lukewarm. Reddy even charged the speaker with a bias. This, analysts feel, will further drive a wedge between the speaker and the YSRCP. Things may only get more complicated, they argue. But as of now, the YSRCP is finding Raghuramakrishnam Raju a very tough nut to crack.

YSRCP MPs meet Birla, renew call to disqualify rebel Narasapuram legislator

1

Three Members of Parliament from the ruling Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) in Andhra Pradesh, V. Vijayasai Reddy, Mithun Reddy and Margani Bharat, met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Thursday and renewed their call for disqualifying rebel MP Kanumuru Raghurama Krishna Raju.

“We submitted additional evidence to the Speaker with regard to our petition to disqualify Narasapuram MP Raghurama Krishna Raju,” said Rajya Sabha member and senior YSRCP leader V. Vijayasai Reddy.

Nearly a year has passed since the ruling party first asked Birla to disqualify Raju.

The Narasapuram MP continues to enjoy a rapport with most of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in the national capital.

On Wednesday Raju met Birla in his office and called it a ‘courtesy call’. He also met Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.

“Met Union Jal Shakti Minister Shekhawat and discussed about the current situation in the state,” claimed Raju.

He also met Kishan Reddy after his swearing in as a Union Cabinet minister and ‘congratulated’ him.

Meanwhile, Vijayasai Reddy, Mithun Reddy and Bharat commemorated former chief minister Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy’s 72nd birth anniversary with orphans at Bal Sahayog in Delhi.

Raju also paid tributes to Rajasekhar Reddy, father of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, against whom he is waging a war.

“On the occasion of the birth anniversary of a king-like person and a man with a heart, Rajasekhar Reddy, I pay my tributes,” said Raju.

Sporting a white shirt, a full moustache and neatly dyed wig, Raju featured in and disseminated two videos eulogizing the late and popular CM.

According to Raju, if anybody ‘commented’ on Rajasekhar Reddy, the latter would just laugh away those comments and never resort to any vengeance or aggressive retaliation.

Raju is talking from the position of a party member who made several ‘comments’ about his leader Jagan Mohan Reddy, including ‘bearing the fruits’ and reaping the ‘consequences’ for those comments lately.

Recently, a group of Dalits from Garagaparru village who claimed to have voted for the Narasapuram MP lodged a complaint with the police in Andhra, demanding his arrest for failing to fulfil the promises he made during elections. They complained that the MP is always absent.

For the past several months, Raju has been mostly dividing his time between Hyderabad and Delhi, ignoring his Narasapuram constituency where several villages continue to suffer from lack of even potable drinking water.

Jagan bail cancellation case: No more rejoinders, says CBI court!

0

The CBI Court in Hyderabad on Thursday dismissed the plea of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s lawyers to allow them to file rejoinders on the rejoinders filed by YSRCP rebel Raghurama Krishna Raju.

The CBI Court directed Jagan lawyers to directly begin their arguments on Raju’s rejoinders and gave them time till 2.30pm on Thursday to begin arguments.

Jagan’s lawyers sought time to file rejoinders but court refused and asked them to begin arguments straight away today.

Raju had earlier filed a case in CBI Court seeking cancelation of bail granted to Jagan in quid pro quo cases arguing that Jagan became CM now and is influencing witnesses using his power since several IAS officers working in AP government were named as accused in Jagan’s illegal assets cases.

However the CBI in its counter earlier left the decision of continuing or cancelling bail to Jagan to CBI Court without making its stand clear whether it wants bail to be cancelled or not.

The fate of Jagan’s bail will be known very soon.

This is the differencebetween Ramakrishna and Raghuramakrishna!!

1

Come to think of this. Both judge Ramakrishna and Narsapur MP Raghuramakrishnam Raju are highly critical of the YSRCP and YS Jagan. They were no-holds barred in slamming the powers that be. Both were charged with sedition and both faced arrest. Both were put behind the bars. Yet, Ramakrishna was arrested quickly while Raghuramakrishnam Raju was arrested only after due deliberations and proper planning. Not just that. RRR got out of the jail quite early, while Ramakrishna is still languishing in jail.

Wherein lay the difference? It is clear that both Ramakrishna and RRR have their secret backers who were feeding them with information inputs. But clever politician that Raghuramakrishnam Raju is, he must have consulted his own personal advisers, legal experts and must have kept the powers that be in the loop while planning his verbal attacks. Ramakrishna was quite indiscreet and careless in his attacks. Like a blue-blood politician, Raghurama ensured that a plan B was always in place.

It is this planning that helped Raghurama get a bail quickly and come out of the prison. He is now back to attacking both the YSRCP and YS Jagan. He had already written nine letters to highlight nine prominent failures of the YSRCP government. These letters are seen as a counter to the Nava Ratnas of YSRCP. On Friday, he has sent the ninth letter. Meanwhile Ramakrishna is still languishing in the prison. It is clear that he has prepared well enough when he took on the YSRCP.

This is in short is the difference between Ramakrishna and Raghuramakrishnam.

RRR custodial torture: LS Speaker directs union home secretary to submit report within 15 days!

0

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla directed union home secretary to submit complete details within 15 days on the complaint filed by YSRCP rebel MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju on his ‘custodial torture’ by APCID in May.

RRR had issued a breach of privilege notices against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, AP DGP Gautam Sawang, APCID ADG, APCID SP.

The Lok Sabha Speaker’s Office finally responded on RRR notices on Friday and issued directions to union home secretary to submit a comprehensive report on custodial torture of RRR within 15 days.

The Speaker had also referred the alleged attack on the MP to the Lok Sabha Privileges Committee.

A few days ago, Raju’s wife and his son met the Speaker oand represented their grievances. They told him how the AP CID had flouted all rules and norms to file a false case and then to arrest him illegally. They also narrated how the MP was put to ‘custodial.

Raju also met the Speaker later and explained to him how third degree was invoked against him by APCID in the jail due to which he suffered severe injuries.

RRR taking shelter under Malla Reddy!

1

YSRCP rebel MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju is taking light of ‘disqualification petitions’ being filed by YSRCP with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla seeking his disqualification from the Lok Sabha on charges of ‘anti party activities.

The YSRCP on Friday filed a fresh petition with Lok Sabha Speaker seeking Raju’s disqualification.

However, Raju made light of YSRCP’s complaint. Reacting on YSRCP’s petition on Saturday, Raju said that it is not that easy for YSRCP to disqualify him from Lok Sabha.

Political circles are surprised over Raju’s confidence on this issue.

Raju reportedly is taking shelter under failed disqualification attempt of Telangana minister Ch Malla Reddy.

Malla Reddy won from Malkajgiri Lok Sabha seat on TDP ticket in 2014. But he defected to TRS in 2015.

The TDP lodged several complaints with Speaker to disqualify him from Lok Sabha as per anti-defection law. But then Speaker ignored all these petitions though TDP was part on NDA government then and Speaker was from BJP.

Malla Reddy had officially joined TRS by meeting Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at his camp office. Despite this, the Speaker did not disqualify him.

In the case of Raju, he did not defect to any party. He is still continuing in YSRCP. He is only raising his voice against YSRCP leadership and AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy.

Raju is confident that Speaker cannot disqualify him from Lok Sabha just for criticising Jagan and if he does, he can question why Malla Reddy was spared when he joined another party and plans to fight a legal battle against his disqualification.

Malla Reddy continued as TDP MP even after joining TRS till December 2018.

Malla Reddy resigned to Lok Sabha on his own in December 2018 after he got elected as TRS MLA from Malkajgiri in December 2018 Assembly polls.

Raju is now reportedly taking shelter under the failed attempt of Malla Reddy’s disqualification.

APCID counters RRR’s claims on ‘missing phone’!

1

YSRCP rebel MP Raghurama Krishanam Raju is engaged in a fierce battle with AP government and APCID ever since his arrest in sedition case on May 14. Though Raju is currently out on bail following Supreme Court directions, he is after AP government and AP CID by lodging complaints against them at all levels at national level by staying in Delhi after his discharge from Army Hospital, Secunderabad on May 26.

Raju lodged a complaint with Delhi police seeking action against APCID chief PV Sunil Kumar lleging that his mobile phone confiscated during his arrest from his Hyderabad residence on May 14 by the APCID was not listed in seizure records with the courts and it is being used to send offensive messages to others,

The APCID on Monday strongly objected to the charges made by RRR on mobile phone issue.

APCID claimed that when his Apple i phone 11 was seized on May 26, Raghurama Raju gave statement to CID that his phone number was 9000911111 but he complained to Delhi police that his number was 9000922222. It said the same statement was submitted to APCID court.

APCID said Raju’s statement was recorded in the presence of two witnesses and charged Raju of submitting fake complaint against APCID.

The CID stated that Raju’s statement will be submitted to Delhi police for further inquiry.

The CID wants to file a complaint against Raju for manipulating his phone number during CID investigation and in the complaint filed with Delhi police.

BJP MP decries ‘third degree’ on AP rebel Raju

1

The MPs of different parties are slowly reacting on YCP rebel MP Raghurama Raju’s letters. Even a BJP MP has expressed concern over the treatment meted out to Mr. Raju. BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal, who is chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Irrigation, has decried the ‘third degree’ methods allegedly used on Mr. Raju.

The BJP MP has said that the attack on Mr. Raju has deeply pained him. Mr. Jaiswal asserted that he would certainly raise the issue on the floor of the Parliament at the earliest opportunity. Towards this extent, the BJP MP has sent an email to Raghurama Raju and gave his assurance.

Orissa MP Chandrasekhar Sahoo has also expressed his solidarity to Mr. Raju. He said that an attack on a Parliamentarian would not be pardonable. He assured Mr. Raju that he would surely take objection to this incident in the Parliament.

Meanwhile, Raghurama has been silently continuing his counter attack on the AP CM. As ordered by the Supreme Court, Mr. Raju is not holding any press conferences on the CID case. However, he is writing letters to one and all. Now, Mr. Raju has sent letters to all the Chief Ministers in the country except. The MP narrated how he faced custodial torture in AP and requested the CMs to condemn the incident by passing resolutions in their respective assemblies.

Raju phone issue, gives legal notice to ADG Sunil

Rebel MP Raghurama Raju has threatened to launch civil and criminal proceedings against AP CID Additional Director General Sunil Kumar. Raju issues a legal notice to the ADG asking to return his cell phone as early as possible. The cell phone was seized by the CID police when he was in their custody.

Mr. Raju has also taken strong objection that the CID police did not show anywhere in the reports or records that his iphone was seized by them during the custody. Even after he was given bail, the AP CID top officials did not bother to hand over the phone back to him.

The rebel MP told the CID ADG that there were many important details and information stored in the iphone. Much information was there regarding his professional and family related matters. Mr. Raju reminded the CID ADG that he was a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee also.

Mr. Raju asserted that the CID police should return his cell phone as it was. He said that he needed the phone urgently to carry out his parliamentary functions as before.

Rebel Raju to tell Parliament about ‘custodial beating’

Even after what has happened to him, rebel MP Raghurama Raju is unstoppable and unrelenting. He is swearing to take his fight to the logical end. As part of this, Mr. Raju has decided to take the opportunity to raise his ‘custodial torture’ issue on the very first day of the next session of the Parliament. He has placed his request before Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla who has also reportedly responded positively.

Rajugaru went in a wheelchair and met with Om Birla late last night. He showed the plaster of paris bandages on his feet and recounted how he was beaten up by masked men while he was in the AP CID custody. He told the Speaker that the Army Hospital in Secunderabad gave a report confirming injuries and fractures on his feet.

Mr. Raghurama Raju is reiterating in his meetings with Delhi leaders that the AP rulers targetted him after he filed the petition in the CBI court for the cancellation of CM Jaganmohan Reddy’s bail. The MP urged Om Birla to take against the AP Chief Minister, DGP, AP CID’s additional DGP and ACP.

Mr. Raju told the Speaker that the Guntur General Hospital gave a false report on his injuries and that he could get justice only in the Army Hospital and the AIIMS. He could get bail only after the interference of the Supreme Court of India.

Guntur SP transferred amid rebel Raju controversy

The AP Government suddenly transferred Guntur Urban SP Ammi Reddy without giving him any posting. Ammi Reddy has been asked to report to the DGP Office. In his place, Special Enforcement Bureau SP Arif Hafeez has been brought as the Guntur Urban SP.

Without doubt, shaking developments took place during the Ammi Reddy period. Rebel MP Raghurama Raju’s arrest, filing of sedition case and his alleged ‘custodial torture’ created political sensations all over. What more, the sedition cases filed against the ABN and TV5 channels had caused a sensation at the national level.

On top of it all, political circles were surprised why Ammi Reddy was suddenly moved out of Guntur. He has been doing a fantastic job right since the day of the arrest of the MP. It goes without saying that rebel Raju’s successful landing in Delhi after leaving the Army Hospital, Secunderabad, was a big disappointment to the AP Government. That happened despite the close vigil placed by the Guntur Urban police reportedly to take the MP back into their hands under some case or the other.

Now, it is becoming an increasingly difficult task for the police officers in the Guntur district to play a balancing act in between the ruling and the opposition leaders.

Rajugari ‘wheelchair’ yatra embarrasses critics

All said and done, Raghurama Krishna Raju is a Member of Parliament. When an MP goes around in a wheelchair in Delhi complaining of ‘custodial torture’, naturally it would draw critical attention. Now, Rajugaru is on a single minded mission to mobilise as much sympathy as possible by continuing his ‘wheelchair’ yatra in the national capital. He has already met with Union Minister Rajnath Singh and submitted his complaint. Soon, he is also meeting with the PM and Amit Shah.

The ‘wheelchair’ yatra has come as a big embarrassment to the YSRCP MPs and its social media activists. Even, Vijay Sai Reddy is under great pressure on how to counter this new tactic. In the beginning, the political circles thought that Mr. Raju would give a break to his political attacks after the alleged custodial beating.

However, the rebel MP was continuing his mission without any interruptions. Without feeling shy or personal prestige, Mr. Raju is going around in Delhi and telling everyone how the AP Government and the AP CID had put him to ‘custodial torture’. It came as a surprising shock to even the YCP leaders since the rebel MP was not the least afraid to attack the YCP regime after all that has happened.

Raju loyalists say that their wheelchair yatra will continue till justice is done to him. Nobody can do anything to curtail Raju’s freedom in the national capital.

‘Plaster of paris’ bandage to Raju feet at Delhi AIIMS

Detailed medical tests were conducted on rebel MP Raghurama Raju at the Delhi AIIMS. The reports were released today by the doctors. They said there was severe cell damage in the feet of the MP. Since the condition of Mr. Raju was not normal, the AIIMS doctors gave plaster of paris (POP) bandage to Raju’s feet.

The doctors have also suggested the MP not to move out and walk for at least two weeks. He should take complete rest considering the heavy cell damage. The AIIMS conducted CT Scan, MRI and various other tests. The doctors have advised the MP not to walk under any circumstances.

The AIIMS report went totally contrary to what the medical board of the Guntur General Hospital (GGH) had submitted on the MP’s condition.

The GGH doctors simply said there was general edema and red colour on the feet of Raju. This was but natural in advanced age. The GGH report said the MP was fit to walk and to carry out his normal duties.

Though the MP was complaining of severe pains in the feet and the legs, he was made to walk to the court and to the jail by the police authorities.

RRR shifted to Delhi AIIMS for better medical care

1

In a day of swift developments, rebel MP Raghurama Raju was shifted from the Secunderabad Army Hospital to the Delhi AIIMS for better medical treatment. Actually, the MP’s lawyers said it would take four to five days for his discharge from the Army Clinic. However, they engaged a special flight and shifted the MP to Delhi. All this happened in a matter of hours with the media and the AP Government kept totally in the dark.

Political circles say that Raghurama Raju would have thought it no longer safe to stay in Hyderabad any longer. This was because of the latest efforts of the Guntur police to arrest him once again in the name of some legal or other procedure. Given the continuing victimisation by the AP Government, there was every chance that the MP might be booked in some other case and put behind the bars.

The Army doctors say the MP would take four to five days to fully recover from the injuries. However, they have given their discharge summary based on which Mr. Raghurama Raju was taken to Delhi and admitted in the AIIMS there. Mr. Raju is now expected to make representations to the top leaders in the national capital how he has been victimised and made to suffer ‘custodial torture’. Raju loyalists say that their MP is now beyond the reach of the long arm of the AP Government.

Release of rebel Raju delayed by four more days

1

New procedural hurdles were created for the immediate release of YSRCP rebel MP Raghurama Raju from the Army Hospital in Secunderabad. Officials say that his release would be further delayed by another four days. This time, it was because of the fresh report given by the Army doctors that the MP would require further treatment for his full recovery.

The Army Hospital came out with this report after the Guntur magistrate court asked for the discharge summary of the injured MP while in the CID police custody. Originally, the Army doctors were waiting for the release orders from the magistrate court to release the MP. Two days ago, this was the message given to the family members of Raghurama Raju. But now, the situation changed again as the Army Hospital refused to give discharge summary till Mr. Raju was fully recovered.

From this, it triggered further political speculation in the Telugu States that the rebel MP might have suffered internal injuries while in the custody of the AP CID police. The Army doctors’ latest report would go quite contrary to the report of the doctors at the Guntur General Hospital. The GGH medical board gave a report that there were no perceptible injuries except that there were general edema swellings on his legs.

The Army doctors’ discharge summary would be going to play a key role in unravelling the Raju ‘custodial torture’ controversy.

LS Speaker asks Home Ministry for report on Raju

1

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla asked the Union Home Ministry for submitting a report on the alleged ‘custodial torture’ of YSRCP rebel MP Raghurama Krishna Raju. Mr. Birla sent a copy of the complaint given by Mr. Raju’s wife and son to the Home Ministry for further details.

The LS Speaker had also referred the alleged attack on the MP to the Lok Sabha Privileges Committee. A few days ago, Mr. Raju’s family members met the Speaker of the Lower House and represented their grievances. They told him how the AP CID had flouted all rules and norms to file a false case and then to arrest him illegally. They also narrated how the MP was put to ‘custodial violence’ and there were injuries on his legs.

Mr. Raju’s family members to the LS Speaker that there was a clear and perceptible danger to the life of the MP. Hence, the Lok Sabha should intervene and save its member from the further victimisation. They narrated how the ruling YSRCP leaders from top to bottom were targetting the MP for criticising their Government’s corruption.

Supreme Court grants ‘conditional bail’ to RRR

In a jolt to YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh, the Supreme Court on Friday granted ‘conditional bail’ to YSRCP rebel MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju in seditions case.

The AP CID has filed sedition case against RRR and arrested him on May 14 in from his residence in Hyderabad on charges of sedition, delivering hate speeches and promoting disaffection against the government on May 14, weeks after he escalated his attacks on YSRCP chief and AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Raju had approached the AP high court for bail a day after his arrest but was told to first file the request with a lower court. Later he moved the Supreme Court for bail on Monday.

Prominent lawyer Mukul Rohatgi who argued in Supreme Court in favour of Raju brought to the notice of the court that Jagan government had arrested Raju and tortured him in APCID custody by using third degree methods after Raju filed a case against Jagan in CBI court seeking cancellation of bail granted to Jagan.

Rohatgi said that the CBI is currently hearing Raju’s petition against Jagan. Rohatgi also told Supreme Court that there are over two dozen cases pending against Jagan in courts.

Later, the Supreme Court delivered its verdict granting ‘conditional bail’ to Raju. Raju was asked to obtain bail from APCID after submitting sureties of Rs 1 lakh.

Raju was directed to appear before APCID whenever it calls for investigation. The investigation should be done in the presence of Raju’s lawyer. Raju was also directed not to give any interviews to media or social media on this issue. He was also directed not to indulge in any activities which influences the investigation into the case. The Supreme Court warned that if Raju flouts bail conditions, it will be viewed very seriously.
