Khiladi is a perfect title for an action entertainer, whereas the first look poster too looks fascinating. Ravi Teja’s rocking pose is a treat to watch for his fans. He plays a dual role in the movie.

Meenakshi Chaudhary and Dimple Hayathi are female leads in the film produced by Satyanarayana Koneru. Devi Sri Prasad renders tunes for the film that will have its opening ceremony today. The film will start rolling in less than a month.

Hyderabad rains disrupt Tollywood shoots

The heavy downpour of rains in the Telangana capital yesterday brought several shoots to a halt. All the outdoor shoots happening in and around Hyderabad have been called off yesterday and they will continue to be canceled for the next couple of days considering the weather conditions. There was huge waterlogging and flooding in the low lying regions of Hyderabad. Rajamouli pushed the schedules of RRR for next week considering the situations.

Ravi Teja’s Krack team too stopped the shoot and these pending episodes will be shoot at a later date. A set is constructed in Ramoji Film City for a song which will commence shoot soon. For the next three days, the shoot of Krack got canceled. Several filmmakers are worried about the common monsoon diseases that would spread because of heavy rains when coronavirus impact is on the peaks.

As of now, the filmmakers are extra cautious and decide to postpone the shoots till normalcy returns back in the city.

Today, a working video of Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja and Shruti Haasan starrer Krack is unveiled. The new shooting schedule of the film began recently. Ravi Teja is also back in action. Besides taking all the safety measures, corona tests are also conducted on sets. They made sure everything is sanitized.

Going by the video, they are presently canning police station sequences. A scene in the video shows Ravi Teja making stylish entry into the police station and cautioning someone, “Station lo unnappudu phone silent mode lo petti dobbichuko.” Thaman’s background score is highly impressive.

The film’s trailer will be released soon. Songs will also be released one after the other, as part of promotions. The film produced by B Madhu is in last leg of shooting and post-production works are also progressing simultaneously.

Ravi Teja is gearing up to work without breaks after he okayed a series of films. He is busy completing Krack in the direction of Gopichand Malineni. The film is aimed for early 2021 release. Ravi Teja gave his nod for Khiladi in the direction of Ramesh Varma. The film is an action entertainer and is planned to be launched this month during Dasara. Niddhi Agerwal has been in talks to romance Ravi Teja. The latest news is that Meenakshi Chaudhary is on board. Meenakshi Chaudhary is the leading lady in Sushanth’s Ichata Vaahanamulu Niluparadhu.

Ravi Teja also gave his nod for Maruthi for a comic entertainer. Maruthi is done with the script work and the project rolls from December. Ravi Teja’s Krack shoot resumes today

Ravi Teja need a strong hit to bounce back and he pinned all his hopes on Krack, a high voltage action and mass entertainer. After the super success of F2, Anil Ravipudi and Dil Raju announced a sequel for the film. Anil Ravipudi is currently working on the script. Venkatesh and Varun Tej will reprise their roles and the other actors will be locked only after the completion of the script. After the super success of F2, Venky hiked his fee. Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja is aiming a comeback after his last couple of outings ended as miserable flops. He is now testing his luck at box office with a sci-fi thriller titled as Disco Raja. The action comedy is made on a reasonable budget and did decent pre release business in Telugu states.
The intriguing trailers have managed to gather some buzz on the film. Director VI Anand is known for his sensible narration and Disco Raja seems to be another interesting attempt from him.

Can Ravi Teja bounce back after going through a lean phase? Let’s find out.

Story

A snow trekking team finds Raviteja’s body in a brain dead condition in Ladakh. A medical research company experiments on the body to bring back life. Though Raviteja’s body gets life back, he loses memory. Meanwhile, relatives of a missing person Vasu ( Raviteja ) are in search for him. The person who gets back life finds himself as Disco Raja who was a gangster in 1980s in Chennai. How the two roles are related? Or is it the same person? Etc. questions form the basis for rest of the story

Analysis:

Disco Raja opening sequences have been shot in an engaging manner. The premise, first 20 minutes give audience an impressive feeling. Vennela Kishore offers some comedy,first half is engaging with an interesting interval. Second half is primarily the back story of Disco Raja, which is set in 1980s. The art work is fine, but the retro makeup to the artists is not up to the mark. Disco Raj’s characterization could have been better. The shot making is impressive at times, but the narration is the culprit. Sometimes the film tries to be a hatke comedy film, sometimes a routine revenge drama.

VI Anand who had directed Ekkadikipotavuchinnavada ,OkkaKshanam earlier came with an interesting story line but failed to impress as a director. Music provided by S.Thaman has two chartbuster songs, his background score with 80s disco theme is equally impressive

Performances:

Raviteja excelled in his multi-dimensional role. Bobby Simha stands out in a crowd with his performance as Sethu – rival gangster to Disco Raja.NabhaNatesh, Payal Rajput and Tanya Hope got limited length roles as heroines. Comedian Suneel has played an important character of his career. Vennela Kishore has offered much needed lighter moments in the film. Naresh, Giribabu ,Raghubabu and Annapurna played other smaller roles.

Positives:

  • Novel Story point
  • High production values
  • Raviteja’s performance

Negatives:

  • Second half is a routine revenge drama
  • 1980s scenes fail to impress

Verdict:

Disco Raja starts off as a promising Sci Fi film and ends as a run of the mill revenge drama. There are ample surprises and twists in the movie, but you feel worn out by the end. Ravi Teja does his part in a role with multiple dimensions. Disco Raja has a Novel story plot that’s suffered with poor narration. Try it if you’re a big fan of Raviteja.

Freak Out Video Song: A sneak peek into Disco Raja

Ravi Teja’s next offering Disco Raja is hitting the screens this Friday. The two released teasers of Disco Raja went viral all over and the makers managed to keep the suspense under wraps. Without releasing the theatrical trailer of the film, the video song of Freak Out is out today. The 2.14 minutes long video takes you into the world of Disco Raja. The visuals look fantastic and the song is an energetic number composed by Thaman.

Without revealing much, the story switches from the past to the present and returns back. Ravi Teja looks ultra-stylish and energetic in the role of dual shades. Disco Raja promises to be lavish in each and every frame. The cinematography work stands out and VI Anand brings a vintage touch to some of the episodes. Bobby Simha’s performance too is expected to be one of the highlights of Disco Raja. Payal Rajput, Nabha Natesh and Tanya Hope are the leading ladies. Freak Out song keeps good expectations for the film.
