Can TRS, BJP counter Revanth with “Chandrababu link”!

0

TDP chief and former AP Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu is no more active in Telangana or Telangana politics.

After Congress-led “Mahakutami” in which TDP was partner lost miserably to TRS in 2018 Assembly polls, Chandrababu distanced himself from Telangana politics completely and remain focussed only on AP politics.

However, after A.Revanth Reddy took over as TPCC chief in July this year, Chandrababu’s name came back into focus in Telangana politics.

This is because both TRS and BJP in Telangana are trying to check Revanth’s growing influence in Telangana politics by linking him with Chandrababu Naidu.

TRS working president and IT minister K.T.Rama Rao is referring to Revanth as Chandrababu’s ‘benami’ and a ‘puppet’ in the hands of Chandrababu.

KTR says Chandrababu took Telangana Congress as a franchisee and operating through Revanth since TDP has died in Telangana.

Ministers and MLAs in TRS are also singing the same song every day by conducting press meets.

Telangana BJP leaders too are targetting Revanth Reddy linking him with Chandrababu.

But the pertinent question being raised is can TRS and BJP succeed in pushing Revanth into defensive mode by linking him with Chandrababu.

Political circles say when half of the cabinet ministers in Telangana cabinet including CM KCR and Assembly speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy have TDP connections and worked under Chandrababu, how does it matter for the public if Revanth becomes TPCC chief after he quit TDP.

Revanth- Malla Reddy rivalry has a long history

The war of words between TPCC chief Revanth Reddy and TRS Minister Ch Malla Reddy shows no signs of abating. The war of words has all the elements of a melodrama with the leaders hurling abuses at each other. The chest thumping, thigh slapping and the wild gesticulations between the two leaders is turning out to be an edge-of-the seat thriller.

But sources say that the rivalry between the two leaders is as old as their politics. Both were in the Telugu Desam Party together and their rivalry began from there. In 2014, both Malla Reddy and Revanth Reddy vied for the Malkajgiri MP seat. However, it took a lot of persuasion to make Revanth Reddy relent and contest from Kodangal Assembly seat. According to Malla Reddy, Revanth then threatened to target Malla Reddy’s educational institutions. In the later developments, Malla Reddy joined the TRS. In 2019, Revanth was pitted against Malla Reddy’s son-in-law Marri Rajasekhar Reddy in Malkajgiri.

According to Malla Reddy, Revanth pursued the politics of vendetta by raising several questions against Malla Reddy’s institutions in the Lok Sabha. He said since then, the targeting has been continuing. Malla Reddy too is being seen as the arch rival of Revanth Reddy. Revanth’s choice of words for Malla Reddy too shows the kind of aversion he has for the Minister. He used words like ‘Pala Malli Gadu’ (milk seller) to criticise Malla Reddy. Malla Reddy too used unprintable expletives against Revanth Reddy.

Sources say that with both the leaders in different parties, the rivalry has come out into the open these days. Revanth Reddy is trying to settle the old scores, say those in the know. They also say that the rivalry will continue in the days to come and it could even get worse.

Will Revanth Reddy be arrested like Narayan Rane?

0

Looks like, the TRS government in Telangana is preparing the ground to arrest TPCC chief A.Revanth Reddy like Maharashtra government arrested union minister Narayan Rane recently.

Rane was arrested recently for making derogatory remarks on Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

Addressing a public meeting as part of Jan Ashirwad Yatra in Maharashtra, BJP’s union minister Rane said he felt like slapping on Uddhav’s face for CM’s ignorance on India celebrating 75 years of Independence and asking officials standing besides him about this while delivering Independence Day speech on August 15.

The Maharashtra police booked case for these comments and arrested Rane though he secured bail later

Now TRS government feels that Revanth Reddy is abusing CM KCR and his family members every day using filthy and unparlimentary language in his press conferences and public meetings.

TRS MLA A.Jeevan Reddy on Thursday (today) wrote to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asking what action Telangana government should take against Revanth Reddy for abusing KCR every day when Maharashtra government in which Congress is partner arrested BJP’s union minister Rane just for abusing CM only once.

He requested Rahul to control Revanth and if not Telangana government will be forced to initiate action against him.

Cash-for-vote case: Revanth puts TRS in a fix!

1

TPCC chief A.Revanth Reddy has put TRS government in a fix in the sensational ‘cash-for-vote’ case registered in May 2015, in which Revanth as then TDP MLA, is the prime accused.

Along with Revanth, then TDP MLA Sandra Venkata Veeriah was also booked by Telangana ACB in this case.

Both Revanth and Sandra quit TDP later. While Revanth joined Congress and became TPCC chief, Sandra, who was elected as MLA again from TDP in December 2019 Assembly polls, defected into TRS in 2019.

Sandra has now filed a petition in Supreme Court urging to remove his name from accused list in cash-for-vote case arguing that this case does not come under the ambit of ACB but comes under the Centre’s The Representation of the People Act, 1951.

Similar petition was filed by Revanth Reddy earlier which is now pending.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday (today) asked Telangana government to file its counter on this issue by August 30.

If TS government files an affidavit agreeing to remove Sandra’s name from this case, it has to remove the name of Revanth Reddy as well.

Since Sandra is TRS MLA now, Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao is in a fix on what to do in this case

The Supreme Court had adjourned the case to September 7.

Before that KCR has to take a call on whether to remove Sandra’s name from this case or not along with Revanth.

TRS making ‘rakhi videos’ viral to target Revanth, Naidu!

0

Ever since Revanth Reddy became the new president of Telangana Congress (TPCC) in July, he is giving sleepless nights to TRS leaders and cadre including TRS chief and Telangana Chief Minister K.Chadrasheker Rao.

Within two months of taking over, Revanth held several protest rallies, huge public meetings against TRS government’s lopsided policies in several districts.

TRS ministers and leaders are forced to hold press conferences every day to counter Revanth’s criticism and allegations against KCR and his family members, which failed to create any impact.

With this, TRS leadership has deployed its social media warriors to target Revanth with ‘rakhi videos’.

TRS social media team is making videos of Congress MLA Seethakka tying rakhi to Revanth Reddy and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu viral on various social media platforms.

They are posting comments saying that these videos prove who is running Telangana Congress conveying the message that Chandrababu is running Telangana Congress and Chandrababu only made Revanth TPCC chief by exerting his influence with Congress high command.

However, netizens are trolling TRS for stooping down to the level of using even rakhis for politics and to target their political rivals.

They are questioning how does it matter if Seethakka ties rakhi to Revanth and Chandrababu.

It’s Seethakka’s personal matter if she treats Revanth and Chandrababu as her brothers and ties rakhi due to her association with them when she was in TDP. But TRS using even ‘brother-sister bonding’ during Rakhi Pournami festival for dirty politics is drawing criticism from all quarters.

Netizens ask TRS leaders to spare festivals and religion from their dirty politics and take on Revanth and Chandrababu politically only but not in this indecent manner.

Cong T’gana chief appears before ACB court in cash-for-vote scam

1

The Congress’ Telangana unit President A. Revanth Reddy on Friday appeared before the ACB court in cash-for-vote scam.

Other accused Rudra Uday Simha and Bishop Harry Sebastian also appeared in the court, which recorded statements of some witnesses, including the then Assembly Secretary.

The court later adjourned the hearing to September 6. It fixed the schedule for recording the statements of remaining witnesses.

The sensational case had come to light in 2015 during the elections to the Telangana Legislative Council from the MLAs’ quota.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) had reportedly caught Revanth Reddy red-handed on May 31, 2015 when he was handing over Rs 50 lakh cash to nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson to make him vote for Narender Reddy, who was the candidate of Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

The court on Friday recorded the statement of then Assembly Secretary Sada Rajaram, who was the returning officer for MLC election.

The court had on Thursday recorded the statements of Vem Narender Reddy’s son Krishna Keerthan Reddy and Revanth Reddy’s former personal assistant Saidaiah.

Revanth Reddy was then a key leader in the TDP and the case had triggered a political storm. An audio tape of TDP President and then Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s telephonic conversation with Stephenson had also surfaced.

Revanth Reddy, then a MLA, was in jail for a month in the case.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) later attached the bribe amount of Rs 50 lakh cash, seized by the ACB under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

In May this year, the ED filed charge sheet against Revanth Reddy, now a Member of Parliament, former TDP MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah, Bishop Harry, Uday Simha, Mathaiah Jerusalem, and Vem Krishna Keerthan.

Revanth Reddy, who quit the TDP to join Congress in 2017, was elected to Lok Sabha from Malkajgiri constituency in 2019 elections. The Congress leadership recently appointed him as the party chief in Telangana.

Komatireddy leaving for Goa to skip Revanth’s Dalit Dandora!

0

Senior Congress leader and Bhongir Lok Sabha member Komatireddy Venkat Reddy continues to maintain distance with new TPCC chief A.Revanth Reddy.

Venkat Reddy who was in the race for TPCC chief post based on his seniority and loyalty to Congress was shocked after the party high command appointed Revanth Reddy as TPCC chief on June 28, who joined Congres from TDP just four years ago.

Angered at this, Venkat Reddy made serious allegations against Revant of securing TPCC chief post like ‘cash for vote’ case by bribing party’s national leaders.

Since then, he is maintaining distance from Revanth by not coming to Gandhi Bhavan and not attending any meetings convened by Revanth. Although Revanth tried to meet Venkat Reddy at his residence, he refused to meet and asked Revanth not to try to meet him.

When Revanth held first huge public meeting “Dalit Girijan Dandora” in Indervelli in Adilabad district last week, Venkat Reddy skipped the meeting though several senior Congress leaders attended.

Revanth decided to hold second Dalit Girijana Dandora in Ibrahimpatnam on Hyderabad outskirts on August 18. Ibrahimpatnam falls under Komatireddy’s Bhongir Lok Sabha constituency.

Komatireddy on Friday (today) issued a press statement all of a sudden saying that he is visiting Goa and Mumbai on a study tour from August 17 to 21 being a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Coal & Steel.

His sudden decision triggered speculations that Komatireddy is leaving for study tour only to skip Revanth’s meeting on August 18.

However, the venue has now been changed from Ibrahimpatnam as police denied permission citing traffic problems near Outer Ring Road.

Revanth is now searching for a site near Chevella.

Is Revanth trying to lure his TDP friend into Congress?

0

Casual meeting or condolence meeting…. Everything has some significance or the other in politics. When two leaders in opposite camps meet, politics is bound to crop up. So, when PCC chief Revanth Reddy met Hyderabad’s former mayor Teegala Krishna Reddy, there is bound to be speculation. The question, is Teegala joining the Congress?, is bound to come up.

The other day, Revanth Reddy called on his old friend Teegala, whose son-in-law passed away the other day. But, the political circles began ringing bells. The reason? Teegala is unhappy in the TRS. So, when Revanth met him, the political circles felt Revanth could extend an invitation to his old friend to join the Congress Party. Though neither of the leaders confirmed it, the buzz refused to die.

Teegala began his career in the TDP and was with the party through thick and thin. In 2014, he won on TDP ticket, but defected to the TRS. In the 2018 elections, Congress candidate Sabitha Indrareddy trounced him. Later, she joined the TRS and went on to become a minister. Thus, the importance for Teegala has begun to come down. He began to feel that he was marginalized and ignored in the party. When the BJP fortunes were on the upswing, especially after the Dubbak and GHMC elections, Teegala tried to join the BJP. He even met some key BJP leaders. Realising the danger of losing Teegala, KCR personally telephoned him and invited him to the Pragathi Bhavan. Teegala stayed back. But, after that KCR simply forgot him.

An unhappy Teegala is now said to be looking towards Revanth Reddy, who has been a good friend since the TDP days. So, when Revanth called him on, Teegala responded positively. This has set off a buzz that Teegala will join the Congress. As of now, Teegala has neither confirmed nor refuted the allegation. Is he waiting for a better deal from KCR? Or is he waiting for the right moment to defect? Let’s wait and see.

Congress holds Dalits, tribals meet in Telangana

0

A large number of people assembled at Indravelli in Telangana’s Adilabad district on Monday for the public meeting held by the opposition Congress to highlight the alleged injustice being meted out to Dalits and tribals in the state.

More than one lakh people participated in the ‘Dalita Girijana Atma Gourava Dandora’ public meeting, which is the first major show of strength by the Congress after A. Revanth Reddy took over as the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President.

Revanth Reddy along with other party leaders and a large number of party workers left for Indravelli in a procession from party headquarters Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad.

Before leaving for Indravelli, Revanth Reddy participated in a programme to mark the 79th anniversary of the ‘Quit India Movement’.

The Congress leader hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for following fascist policies at the Centre and in Telangana.

He said the hike in fuel prices by the Modi government has overburdened the common man.

The aspirations with which Telangana was formed had not been fulfilled due to the wrong policies of K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the Congress leader added.

Revanth Reddy said injustice was done to Dalits, tribals, backward classes, minorities and other weaker sections during the last seven years. He claimed that only the Congress can ensure justice to all sections of society.

A large number of people from various parts of Adilabad and other districts reached Indravelli. The meeting began at 2 p.m. and will continue till late evening.

Congress Legislature Party leader Bhatti Vikramarka, All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary Madhu Yashki Goud, former Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha and other leaders attended the meeting organised on the occasion of World Tribal Day or International Day of the World’s Indigenous People.

The Congress also plans to organise similar meetings across all 17 parliamentary constituencies in the state.

The Congress has come under criticism from the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) for organising the meeting which reminded it that it was during Congress rule that scores of tribals were killed in police firing at Indravelli on April 20, 1981.

TRS leaders and some Adivasi groups have demanded that the Congress should first apologise to the tribals for the police firing.

Responding to the demands of the TRS, TPCC Vice-President Mallu Ravi said the Congress was ready to apologise for the incident from the dais of the public meeting.

Revanth’s ‘one man show’ develops chinks in T-Congress!

1

It’s only a month since firebrand Congress leader and MP A Revanth Reddy was appointed as new TPCC chief to head Congress in Telangana.

But chinks appear to have developed in Congress within a month of new TPCC took over.

Congress circles blame Revanth for this. They say Revanth is trying to run Telangana Congress like a ‘one man show’ as per his whims and fancies.

They say Revanth is showing his true colours within a month of becoming TPCC chief.

Congress circles say Revanth tried to create an impression that he involves all senior leaders in decision-making soon after his appointment as TPCC chief. He personally visited residences of all senior Congress leaders and sought their support and coooperation and promised to work together for strengthening Congress and bring Congress to power in Telangana. But this spirit has been lost within a month.

The TPCC meetings in Gandhi Bhavan now bring back the memories of earlier days with leaders indulging in infighting and heated arguments with each other.

On Saturday, there was an open fight in Gandhi Bhavan between Revanth Reddy and AICC programme implementation committee chairman and former Nirmal MLA Aleti Maheshwar Reddy.

Maheshwar Reddy fired at Revanth for unilaterally announcing that TPCC will hold Dalit Dandora meeting in Indravelli in Undividied Adilabad district on August 9 with one lakh dalits against KCR government.

Maheshwar Reddy took a dig at Revanth asking how can he take up programmes in his home district without even informing or consulting him.

Revanth too shot back saying who are you to ask me on this issue. Revanth asked Maheshwar Reddy to confine himself to Nirmal and don’t involve in Indravelli meeting.

Maheshwar Reddy questioned Revanth, “Is it All India Congress or Revanth Congress. Don’t try to run party like a one-man show. This is not TDP. This is Congress. One-man show is not acceptable in Congress.”

This led to heated arguments between both forcing other seniors to involve and pacify both.

Komatireddy lauds Sharmila: Is Revanth Reddy the real target?

0

Why did Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy express his support to Sharmila’s deeksha in Munugode? He has not given any indication that he would leave the Congress or join Sharmila’s party, but he has lauded her deeksha on the issue of joblessness in Telangana. He even made a phone call and said that her protest deeksha was timely.

Those in the know say that Komatireddy’s phone conversation with Sharmila is mainly meant to tease and taunt Revanth Reddy. In fact, Sharmila had personally called them up and asked them to join hands with her. But, the Komatireddy brothers simply said “No Thank you.” The same Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy was effusive in his praise of Sharmila now. Sources say that he was indirectly sending signals to Revanth Reddy that there is an alternative leadership for the Reddy community.

Interestingly, Rajagopal Reddy’s brother Komatireddy Venkat Reddy personally went to the JRC Convention Centre, where Sharmila’s party YSRTP was launched. He congratulated her and came back. This has happened after he was bypassed for the TPCC chief post over Revanth Reddy. This was mainly meant to show anger and displeasure against the Congress high command, which cold-shouldered him. Both he and Rajagopal Reddy have invoked YSR and said that he still lives in their hearts.

Both the brothers were very careful not to overstep the party line. Even while staying well within the party line, they challenged Revanth Reddy’s leadership. At the same time, they have indicated that the Reddy community has an alternative in the form of Sharmila. This is being seen as an indirect signal to Revanth Reddy that he alone is not a symbol of Reddy politics in Telangana. Clearly, the Komatireddys are not yet reconciled to Revath Reddy’s appointment as the TPCC chief. They are showing their displeasure by speaking in support of Sharmila sometimes and BJP yet other times.

Why Revanth keeping silence on Kokapet lands?

2

TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy raised a hue and cry over Kokapet lands auction conducted by Telangana state government two weeks ago.

Revanth alleged Rs 1,000 crore scam in the auction. He also accused that all the lands were grabbed by Telangana CM KCR’s benamis, friends and relatives for cheaper rates.

He said KCR’s close aide Jupally Rameshwar Rao of My Home Group bagged most of the land parcels in auction.

Revanth also charged Siddipet collector Venkatram Reddy of threatening others not to take part in auction and ensured lands for Rajapushpa Realty group owned by his brother.

Revanth demanded KCR to cancel auction and conduct fresh auction through Swiss Challenge method. He gave four days time for KCR.

If not, Revanth threatened to complain to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah seeking CBI probe into Kokapet scam.

But suddenly Revanth became silent on this issue. Though he is in Delhi at present to attend Parliament session, he has not complained to Modi or Amit Shah.

This triggered speculations that My Home Rameshwar Rao and Revanth reached a compromise on this issue. Rao reportedly promised Revanth to give full coverage to him in his TV9 network till 2024 Lok Sabha polls and no negative reports will be carried on Revanth.

Revanth to mobilise 1 lakh dalits, tribals against KCR’s Dalit Bandhu!

TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy is devising strategies to counter TRS chief and Telangana CM KCR’s plans to implement Dalit Bandhu scheme only in Huzurabad Assembly constituency initially, which is going for bypoll soon.

Revanth says KCR has come up with Dalit Bandhu scheme only to woo dalits in Huzurabad, who are a majority in the constituency with an eye on bypoll.

Revanth has decided to mobilise one lakh dalits and tribals from across the state and conduct a huge public meeting at Indravelli in Adilabad district on August 9.

He named public meeting as “Dalit Dandora” demanding Dalit Bandhu scheme for all dalits and tribals in all 119 Assembly constituencies in the state and not just Huzurabad.

He said Telangana Congress will also hold Dalit, Girijan Dandora in all the 119 Assembly constituencies in Telangana from August 9 to September 17 to expose KCR’s hidden agenda behind Dalit Bandhu scheme and create awareness among dalits and tribals across the state on the need to implement Dalit Bandhu simultaneously across the state and not just in Huzurabad if KCR is really sincere about the development of dalits in Telagnana.

How YSR’s friend became Revanth Reddy’s benefactor?

1

This old warhorse is back in action. Once upon a time, he was a shadow chief minister and had his imprint on everything that the government did. He and his friend were like two bodies and one soul. After the friend’s death, he became a king-maker in Telugu politics and played a key role as the messenger-cum-taskmaster of the AICC. But after bifurcation of the state, he completely became inactive. Nothing was heard about it.

But it was this old warhorse who sprang into activity and helped Revanth Reddy gain acceptance among the seniors in Telangana. Yes. We are talking about KVP Ramachandra Rao. KVP was inactive after the state was divided. The Congress was defunct in AP and did not need him in Telangana. Except for holding a couple of memorial meetings for YSR, he was practically doing nothing.

But, when Revanth Reddy took over and there was fierce opposition from the senior Congress leaders, the AICC called for this old trouble-shooter. It was only after he talked to seniors like VH, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Uttam Kumar Reddy and Sridhar Babu that they fell in line. Many seniors agreed to attend the swearing-in of Revanth Reddy. Almost all leaders except Jeevan Reddy and Komatireddy, have reconciled to Revanth’s appointment and fell in line.

KVP reportedly spoke to them on behalf of the AICC leadership and assuaged their feelings. They told them to stand by Revanth Reddy. No wonder, KVP was the prime attraction when Revanth took oath as the Congress president.

Revanth trying to fix KCR in Pegasus spyware issue!

0

Pegasus spyware issue is rocking the nation for the past three days. The BJP government at the Centre is under attack from all quarters for allegedly using Israel based Pegasus software to hack phones of Opposition leaders, media organizations, journalists and judges of various courts etc.

The ongoing Parliament session is facing disruption with severe protests from Opposition parties in the House.

TPCC chief Revanth Reddy is now trying to fix Telangana CM KCR at national level by raking up phone tapping issue in Telangana using Pegasus spyware since 2015.

Revanth is telling Delhi media how KCR tapped former AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu phone in 2015 as well as phones of opposition leaders and media using spyware.

Revanth said KCR engaged Intelligence IG Prabhakar Rao to tap phones of all opposition leaders, media and judges using Pegasus spyware.

Revanth said he exposed this issue on July 16 itself but at national level it was exposed by national media on July 18.

Revanth alleged that KCR diverted Central funds given for modernization of police force to purchase spyware and equipment to tap phones of all important persons in Telangana.

Stopped from attending Parliament, Revanth complains to Speaker

0

Congress MP and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief A. Revanth Reddy on Monday complained to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla that police prevented him from attending Parliament session by placing him under house arrest.

The Lok Sabha member from Malkajgiri has written to the Speaker that Telangana Police at the instance of the chief minister, the chief secretary and the DGP obstructed him from discharge of his duties as a Parliamentarian to attend Parliament and voice out the people’s concerns.

Revanth Reddy said he had decided to raise in Parliament the issue relating to the state government selling government land at throwaway prices to their relatives and ruling party functionaries.

“Despite the fact that I have to attend the Parliament Session which scheduled from today and repeated requests to the officials concerned, the Telangana State Police at the instance of the chief minister, chief secretary, DGP have obstructed my discharge of duties as Parliamentarian to attend the Parliament and voice out the people’s concerns,” the MP wrote.

“I was prevented from attending Parliament which offends the parliamentary privileges during the progress of the session, permission of the Hon’ble Speaker is absolutely necessary to arrest the parliamentarian, particularly when it is a political arrest,” Revant Reddy added.

The MP sought the Speaker’s intervention to enable him to attend Parliament and proceed against authorities mentioned by him for violation of parliamentary privileges.

Revanth Reddy was placed under house arrest in Hyderabad early Monday by the police. According to police, this was done to prevent him from staging a protest in the Kokapet area where the state government last week auctioned government lands.

Alleging Rs 1,000 crore scam in e-auction, Revanth Reddy has demanded fresh auction of the lands in a transparent manner through ‘Swiss Challenge’.

Revanth-Devender Goud meet: PCC chief makes a splash, buts comes back empty handed

1

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief Revanth Reddy is continuing to create a buzz and he has some ace up his sleeve every day. On Sunday evening, he sprang a surprise by calling on former TDP heavyweight and former home minister of the undivided AP, Devender Goud. He, party’s senior leaders Madhu Yashki Goud and Mallu Ravi, went over to the Tukkuguda residence of Devender Goud and held discussions for well over half-an –hour.

With this, the rumour mill went into a tizzy claiming that Devender Goud was joining the Congress Party. There were also rumours that Devender Goud’s son Veerender Goud too was joining the party. There were rumours that Vijender, who has joined the BJP after the 2019 elections, was upset at not being given any party position in the BJYM. Sources said he was considering resigning the party.

However, it turned out that both Devender and son Vijender Goud did not make any big bang announcement. Vijender Goud said that both Revanth and Madhu Goud came over to discuss several issues pertaining to the state politics. He said that he would continue to be in the BJP and said there could be points of convergence among all the opposition parties.

Madhu Yashki, who claimed he was like a family member of Devender Goud, termed the latter as a treasure trove of knowledge and experience. He said they have come to discuss the issues relating to development and progress of Telangana. Revanth Reddy said he would continue to come and seek the advice of Devender Goud. He said both Devender Goud and late S Jaipal Reddy were symbols of probity in public life. Over all, throughout the day Revanth Reddy trended on the social media and managed to hog the limelight on the electronic media. But, the end turned out to be an anti-climax as both father and the son were non-committal.

Revanth to take up Rs 1,000cr Kokapet land scam with Modi, Amit Shah!

TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy on Saturday addressed a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan to ‘expose’ Rs 1,000 crore scam by TRS government in Kokapet land auction held on July 15.

Revanth said all the plots were bagged by benamis and friends of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

He said the highest bid was Rs 60 crore per acre for one of the eight plots put up for auction but other seven plots were sold for just Rs 30 crore and Rs 40 crore respectively. Revanth questioned how can there will be such a huge price variation of up to 50% variation for plots located in the same place and when all are near Hitech City and Financial District.

Revanth alleged that KCR and his team ensured no outsiders bid for these land parcels and only his benamis and friends submit bids for low prices and grab them. By doing so, KCR caused Rs 1,000 crore loss to state exchequer and received kickbacks from his benamis and friends in return.

Revanth said he will complain on Telangana government’s Kokapet land scam to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah seeking CBI probe into the issue during the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament.

Revanth challenged BJP leaders to send KCR to jail on this issue if their daily statements warning KCR that BJP will send KCR to jail for corruption were really true.

Revanth demanded KCR to cancel these auctions and take up fresh auction based on Swiss challenge method prescribing Rs 60crore per acre as minimum upset price for all the plots to save public money.

That lucky room in Gandhi Bhavan

0

The room that Telangana PCC chief Revanth Reddy is occupying is now the centre of attraction in the Gandhi Bhavan. There is great craze around the room as the vastu experts are suggesting that whoever occupies this room will go places. They say the person will rise to newer heights in his career.

In fact the corner room in the Gandhi Bhavan near the East gate was where Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka used to sit. He has now become the Congress legislature party leader. Earlier, Kusum Kumar used to sit in the same room. He was elevated to the AICC and is now an important person in the AICC coterie. He plays mediator in dispute and moderator in debates.

Earlier, even Revanth Reddy used this room as his chamber as the Telangana Pradesh Congress Working Committee president. In fact, Revanth strongly believes that this room is lucky for him. Several astrologers and Vastu experts too have suggested that Revanth turn this room into his chambers as the PCC chief. Accordingly, Revanth got several changes made in the room and has converted this into his chamber.

While Uttam Kumar Reddy was the PCC chief, he used the second room from the eastern corner as his office. During his time, the Congress Party was always on the downward spiral and suffered defections and dissensions, say Vastu experts. Revanth’s term will see new surge of energy in the party as he is occupying the right room. Soon after his name was announced as the PCC chief, Revanth got several modifications done to the Gandhi Bhavan. A lot of rooms were refurbished and a new east gate was opened. Revanth Reddy is said to be using this entry to reach his chamber.

T’gana Cong leaders held during protest over fuel price hike

1

Police arrested Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president A. Revanth Reddy and other leaders during a protest against fuel price hike here on Friday.

Tension prevailed in the Indira Park area in the heart of the city as Revanth Reddy and other leaders tried to advance towards Ambedkar statue despite police denying them the permission.

The opposition party leaders wanted to march to Raj Bhawan to submit a memorandum against the fuel price hike. As Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan was not available, they wanted to march to Ambedkar statue to submit their memorandum.

TPCC had called for ‘Chalo Raj Bhavan’ to lodge its protest against the hike in fuel prices but police had denied the permission for the same.

However, the Congress leaders were only allowed to hold a protest meeting at Dharna Chowk at Indira Park.

When Revanth Reddy and others removed the police barricades and tried to force their way towards Tank Bund to reach Ambedkar statue, police stopped them. This led to pushing and jostling between the two sides.

The police arrested Revanth Reddy, TPCC working president Anjan Kumar Yadav, AICC secretary Madhu Yaskhi, former union minister Balram Naik, MLA Seethakka and other leaders and shifted them to different police stations.

Revanth Reddy said police cannot suppress their voice with arrests. He vowed to continue the fight against the price hike.

Earlier, addressing the dharna, the TPCC chief alleged that Modi government has put Rs 36 lakh crore burden on people. He claimed that no other country in the world has such a huge tax on petroleum products.

Revanth Reddy slammed both Modi and KCR governments saying they are responsible for Rs 6 lakh debt burden on every citizen.

He termed the behaviour of police as atrocious. He said NSUI state president Venkat Balmoor was arrested despite the permission granted for protest at Indira Park.

The Congress party alleged that several leaders and workers were placed under house arrest or were prevented from reaching Indira Park.

AICC secretary N. Bose Raju also participated in the dharna protest against the increase in process of petrol, diesel and LPG. He said repeated fuel price has adversely affected the livelihood of common man.

He pointed out major component of fuel price is excise duty imposed by Modi government. He said excise duty on petrol is Rs 32.98 per litre and on diesel it is Rs 31.83 per litre. He recalled that at the end of term of UPA II, excise duty on petrol was Rs 9.21 per litre and that on diesel was Rs 3.45 per litre.

This was the second major protest programme organised by Congress on price hike issue since Revanth Reddy took over as TPCC chief last week.
