TDP demands CBI probe into rise in rice exports from Kakinada port

0

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) spokesperson, Kommareddy Pattabhiram, on Tuesday asked the State Government as to how there is a steep rise in rice exports from the Kakinada port though the paddy production in the State has gone down drastically in the past couple of years.

The TDP spokesman told media persons here that in 2018-19 the paddy production in the State was 82.30 lakh tonnes it came down to 78.90 lakh tonnes in 2020-21. The rice exports in 2018-19 were 18.0akh tonnes and in 2020-21 the exports rose to 31.51 lakh tonnes and by 2021-22 the exports went up remarkably to 48.26 lakh tonnes. How there is such sudden growth in the export of rice, he asked.

The reports from the Centre clearly mentioned that there is no growth in the paddy cultivation in Andhra Pradesh in the past couple of years, Pattabhiram pointed out and asked when this is the reality how the exports have shot up so high. This clearly indicates that the ration rice is being diverted and the stocks are being exported to foreign countries, the TDP leader said.

Pattabhiram said that the State government has made it clear that 82.75 lakh tonnes of ice was procured in 2020-21 while the Central reports said that the production in the same year was only 78.90 lakh tonnes. This means that something went wrong somewhere, Pattabham said and demanded that only a probe by the CBI will bring facts to light.

Observing that the three-and-a-half-year rule of the YSRCP is filled with scams like rice scandal, land scam, liquor scandal and mining, Pattabhiram stated that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, always focuses on how to fill his pockets but never thinks about the poor and the downtrodden sections of society.

Union Minister, Piyush Goel, admitted on the floor of Parliament itself that there are no accounts for 5.70 lakh tonnes of rice supplied by the Centre to the State, Pattabhiram said adding that this rice is being exported through Kakinada port by the mafia. The TDP leader stated that the claim by the YSRCP leaders that the rice exports have gone up as the stocks are from Chhattisgarh State are baseless and totally wrong.

Farming community losing heavily due to Jagan’s policies, says Gorantla

0

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA, Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, on Monday said that the farming community in the State is suffering a lot due to the faulty policies of the State Government. Farmers have been suffering a lot as the dues for their products last year have not been cleared yet, Butchaih Chowadry said.

Talking to media persons, the TDP MLA felt an immediate need to discontinue the conditions laid down in the new farm policy as they are in no way helpful to the farming community. Either the Minimum Support Price is being implemented properly or compensation is being paid to the farmers for the crop loss due to natural calamities, he said.

“The State occupied the third position in the country in farmers suicides and in the first place in farmers debts. The agriculturists are facing severe problems in selling their farm products due to the new conditions,” Butchaiah Chowadary maintained.

When Chandrababu Naidu was the chief minister of the State the dues to the farmers for selling their products were paid within a week, he said. But after Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power even after months the dues are still pending, he added.

Butchaiah Chowadary said that the Rythu Bharosa Centres have turned into YSRCP corrupt centres as the farm products are purchased only on recommendations from the ruling party leaders. At least now, the administration should take necessary measures to ensure that the farm products are purchased from all the farmers and the amount is paid on time, he said.

Also, the shortage of gunny bags is haunting the rice millers following which the rice-millers are not coming forward to purchase the grain, he said and wanted the government to direct the departments concerned to take the immediate remedial measures and bail out the farming community. Butchaih Chowdary also demanded that the long-pending dues to the farmers be cleared immediately.

Recce on Pawan, YSRCP turns tables on TDP

0

In the alleged recce case of Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, the ruling YSR Congress refuted the charges against them and turned tables on the TDP. The leaders said that the three persons who were arrested in the case were members of the opposition TDP.

The chairmen of AP Reddy, Kamma and Kapu corporations said that the three persons belonged to the TDP. They said that Vijay, Aditya Chowdary and Saikrishna Chowdary, who were now in the Hyderabad police, were associated with the TDP.

Kamma Corporation chairman, Thummala Chandrasekhar, Kapu Corporation chairman, Adapa Seshu and Reddy Corporation chairman, Satyanarayana Reddy, produced the photographs of the accused with Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh.

They alleged that Chandrababu Naidu is known for criminal politics and was part of Chandrababu Naidu’s conspiracy against the Kapu community in the state for political benefits. Kapu Corporation chairman Adapa Seshu said that Chandrababu Naidu was behind the murder of Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga in the past. He alleged that Chandrababu Naidu was now trying to eliminate Pawan Kalyan and blame Jagan Mohan Reddy only to get political advantage.

They also appealed to the Jana Sena leaders to understand the criminal politics of the TDP leaders. They also advised the Jana Sena activists and leaders to look at the political connections of the three accused who were arrested by the Hyderabad police.

Reddy Corporation chairman, Satyanarayana Reddy said that the Jana Sena leaders were dragging his name in the recce. He said that he had no criminal background and requested the Jana Sena activists not to be misled by Chandrababu Naidu’s opportunistic and criminal politics. He also advised the Jana Sena leaders to read the books of senior Kapu leader Chegondi Harirama Jogaiah, who openly exposed Chandrababu Naidu’s criminal politics.

The chairmen said that the TDP chief was trying to bring division among the Kamma, Reddy and Kapu communities to win the next election. They wanted people to understand the criminal politics of Chandrababu Naidu and save Pawan Kalyan from the TDP chief.

Jagan has no right to continue in power, says TDP Ex-MP

1

Former member of MP and senior TDP leader, Konakalla Narayana, on Wednesday said that Chief Minister, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, has no right to continue in power any longer as the farming community in the State is being subjected to great injustice.

The former MP told media persons here that Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power by making false promises to the people of the State and the Rythu Bharosa, which he claims is a welfare measure, is nothing but a fraud. Jagan on October 17 released advertisements spending a whopping Rs 17 cr claiming that money under Rythu Bharosa has been credited to the accounts of the farmers, but till now 77,000 farmers did not get the financial assistance, the TDP leader said.

In fact, of the Rs 4,000 being paid to each farmer under this scheme, the Centre’s share is Rs 2,000, but Jagan is claiming that the total amount is being paid by the State government, Narayana observed. The YSRCP government is simply ignoring the interests of the farming community, the former MP said, adding that the farmers in the State are no longer interested in agriculture due to the negligent attitude of the State Government.

When the TDP was in power, the dues to the farmers were to be paid within 15 days after the purchase of the farm products and the party stood by the community even when they suffered crop losses due to natural calamities, the TDP leader stated. But now, the Jagan Reddy government is not paying the dues to the farmers even after months of purchasing the farm products, he maintained.

Andhra Pradesh is now in the third place in the farmers suicides and till now over 5,000 farmers had committed suicide after Jagan became the Chief Minister of the State, he pointed out. Hence, Jagan Reddy has no right to continue in power any longer as he could not do justice to the farming community and the interest-free loans to farmers remained only on paper, Narayana felt.

The former MP said that the people in general and the farmers in particular are ready to teach a lesson to Jagan Mohan Reddy, whenever the elections are held. He is of the opinion that the farmers suicides are nothing but the official murders.

Corruption reached its peak in YSRCP rule, say TDP leaders

1

Former minister and senior TDP leader, Pattipati Pulla Rao, and the vice-president of the state party unit, Buragadda Veda Vyas on Saturday said that the financial condition of the State has touched the bottom level after Jagan Mohan Reddy has become the Chief Minister.

The hospitals are sending back the patients without treatment as the government is not making payments under the Aarogyasri scheme. It is a fact that lakhs of rupees are being paid as salaries to the employees of the media houses owned by Jagan, the TDP leaders told media persons at the party headquarters here.

“The people of the State are now witnessing how the administration functions if an economic offender becomes a Chief Minister,” Pulla Rao said.

No other State in the country is witnessing such a situation, Pulla Rao felt and said that the Rythu Bharosa centres are not functioning impartially in any corner of the State. The former minister is of the strong opinion that the three capital issue is a big drama being utilised only for political purposes and that the very idea is not possible for implementation.

Stating that the people of the State accepted Amaravathi as the capital long ago, Pulla Rao said that the people in the Rayalaseema region do not have any respect for the ruling YSRCP. “Is it not a fact that Jagan too openly declared that Amaravati is the capital of the State and that he is building his residence here,” the former minister asked.

The people of the State are eagerly waiting to send home Jagan at the earliest possible as they are not in a position to bear his rule any longer, he said. Jagan always utters blatant lies and his statement on the pending dues of Aarogya Sri are the classic example of this. “At least Rs 600 cr is to be paid to various hospitals in the State under this scheme,” Pulla Rao pointed out.

The YSRCP government knows only demolitions but not constructions, Pulla Rao observed and said that except for political gains, the Jagan Mohan Reddy government has till now not taken any measures with regard to the development sector. People will no longer believe Jagan, he added.

YSRCP leaders have no moral right to talk about Rayalaseema, says Amarnath Reddy

0

Former minister and senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader, Amarnath Reddy, on Saturday demanded that the ruling party leaders immediately initiate steps for the development of the region or all the 49 YSRCP MLAs from the region quit their posts to fight for justice to Rayalaseema.

He felt that the ruling YSRCP leaders, particularly Bhumana Karunakara Reddy, do not have any moral right to talk about the development of the Rayalaseema region.

When NT Rama Rao was the chief minister of the State, he laid the foundation for projects like the Telugu Ganga, the Galer-Nagari and the Handi-Neeva besides taking various measures to take the region forward, he said. The YSRCP leaders do not have any commitment on the Rayalaseema region except that they do not want Amaravathi to be the capital of the State, Amarnath Reddy maintained.

Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, who claims himself to be very close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, could not get even the clearance for the forest lands for the Galer-Nagari project, he observed. Not even a single rupee was spent till now for the Pothireddypadu Head Regulator scheme, Amarnath Reddy said.

Jagan till now has not given any answers to the questions raised by the Green Tribunal on Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation scheme, the TDP leader pointed out and said that the Chief Minister has admitted that the State has no rights on the Krishna and the Godavari rivers. Amarnath Reddy demanded the apology of Jagan to the people of the State for leaving all the rights to the Centre on both the Krishna and the Godavari rivers.

Except those industries that were launched during the TDP regime, after the YSRCP came to power, not even a single unit has been inaugurated in Rayalaseema, the TDP leader said. Not even the compound wall has been constructed for the Kadapa steel plant and even the compensation amount has not been paid till now for the displaced farmers who sacrificed their lands for the steel plant, he added.

The highest taxpayer, the Amara Raja Batteries company, is under constant threats, he stated. The Minister, Peddi Reddy, should feel ashamed to say that Rayalaseema need not be the part of the capital, he observed.

TDP asks Jagan for debate on BC welfare

0

TDP politburo member, Chintakayala Ayyannapatrudu, on Friday advised Chief Minister, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, to immediately stop showing false affection towards the Backward Classes (BCs) in the State.

Ayyannapatrudu told media persons at the party headquarters here that it was the TDP that always stood by the BCs. It is really surprising that Jagan Mohan Reddy could think of the BCs three years after coming to power.

In fact, Reddys are dominating the whole State, he said pointing out that YSRCP MP, Vijayasai Reddy, was the incharge for North Andhra till recently and now another YSRCP leader, YV Subba Reddy, replaced him now. While Midhun Reddy is the incharge for the both the combined Godavari districts, Rami Reddy is for Guntur and Krishna districts, Pratap Reddy is the incharge for Prakasam, Nellore and Kurnool. Similarly, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy is the incharge for Anantapur, Kadapa and Chittoor districts, he pointed out. All these Reddy incharges have been given full powers to loot their respective districts, Ayyannapatrudu said.

Ayyannapatrudu asked Jagan to come for open debate with him on the BC welfare done by the TDP in the past and the YSRCP now. He asked why the BC leaders in the ruling YSRCP are not raising their voice when injustice is done for the community.

What is the use of forming 56 corporations when funds are not released for even a single corporation, he asked. The Jagan Reddy government has diverted Rs 36,000 cr funds meant from the BC Welfare Corporation and the Adarana scheme meant for the welfare of the community has been withdrawn, the TDP leader said.

Even the Central funds meant for BC welfare are being diverted, he said and dared the YSRCP to come for an open debate on all these issues. The sarpanches too have no powers now and the panchayats are not in a position to pay even their power bills, the TDP politburo member noted.

Calling upon the BC community across the State to come onto a common platform to fight for their rights, Ayyannapatrudu demanded the State Government to release a white paper on the welfare measures taken till now by the ruling dispensation.

CID acting as sister concern of YSRCP, says Nakka Ananda Babu

0

Former minister and senior TDP leader, Nakka Ananda Babu, on Wednesday expressed anger at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) terming it as a sister concern of the ruling YSRCP.

Ananda Babu told media persons at the party headquarters here that the CID’s existence is only to file false cases against the TDP leaders and to harass them. The Jagan Mohan Reddy Government is utilising the services of the agency only to subject the TDP leaders to custodial torture, Mr Ananda Babu stated.

Maintaining that the CID is a state police wing and the officials should act independently, the former minister felt that but the ruling YSRCP is utilising it as one of its functionaries. The CID is maintaining total silence even on several critical cases, Mr Nakka Ananda Babu observed.

As per the Supreme Court guidelines, the officials should wear a badge and uniform while investigating a case. They are not showing even their identity cards when they are taking the TDP activists into custody, he noted.

Ananda Babu believes that the whole process is under the directions from Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, and his advisor, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy. The chief of CID wing, Sunil Kumar, should take the responsibility for the whole issue, he felt.

The TDP leader said that Sunil Kumar, who is a Dalit, is using several Dalit officials to harass the community leaders and this will have a major impact on the community in the future. Observing that one will not remain in power permanently, Anand Babu said that such officials will have to pay a heavy price in future for their misdeeds.

Jagan pushed youth into oblivion, says Yanamala

1

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) politburo member and former minister, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, on Sunday said that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, pushed the future of the youth in the State into oblivion.

Ramakrishnudu felt that the YSRCP government in the past three years has only been trying to defend itself from the blunders it has committed and also making every effort to come out of the huge debts. There is absolutely no development in the YSRCP rule, and the welfare schemes are not being implemented at all.

As per the reports submitted by the international organisations, poverty in the State is going up every day and the imbalances in the society too are on the rise, the TDP politburo member said. As Jagan Mohan Reddy is utilising the funds raised through debts for his personal use development is taking a back seat, he felt.

Ramakrishnudu is of the opinion that if they progress well both economically and industrially, the people should bid goodbye to Jagan. The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report clearly mentioned that the debt burden on the State is far higher than the permitted levels, he mentioned and asked as to how the government has crossed the limitations. This apart, the government is submitting false accounts to the CAG, he observed.

The Ministers concerned are totally misleading the CAG and other wings with a fear that the government’s misdeeds will get exposed, Ramakrishnudu felt.

There is no revenue for the State and the entire system collapsed, he said adding that the State government is also not taking any measures to increase the resources thus pushing the future of the youth into total uncertainty. This government has no right to continue in power even for a day, Ramakrishnudu felt and wanted the Centre to take proper action on this.

Except issuing warnings to the State proper action has not been initiated yet by the Centre and at least now stringent action be taken against the State government in the interest of the people, Ramakrishnudu added.

Lokesh calls for united fight by BCs for empowerment

0

TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Thursday called upon all the sections in the Backward Classes (BCs) to wage a united fight for their empowerment.

Addressing the conveners of the BC Empowerment Committee at the party headquarters in Mangalagiri, Lokesh said that injustice is being done to the BCs in the YSRCP rule and they are facing various kinds of harassment in the State. To fight against this tyrannical attitude, all the communities in the BCs should join hands and wage a united fight, he told the Empowerment Committee conveners.

Lokesh wanted the panel conveners to ensure that all the sections in the Backward Classes communities be given proper importance. “The community-based problems should be studied and proper solutions should be found to resolve them,” he told the meeting.

The credit of empowering the BCs goes entirely to the late N T Rama Rao, who was inspired by B R Ambedkar and the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Lokesh said, adding that it was the TDP that created reservations for BCs in the local bodies elections. Chandrababu Naidu, who succeeded the late NTR, religiously followed him and initiated several measures for the uplift of the BCs, the TDP general secretary maintained.

Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, who termed the BCs and back bones later backstabbed them and conspired to remove them from the positions that they were holding earlier, Lokesh said. False cases were foisted against the leaders from the community like Atchen Naidu, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Beeda Ravichandra Yadav, he stated.

Addressing the meeting, Atchen Naidu said that several programmes were implemented during the TDP regime for the uplift of the BCs both economically and politically. Besides extending loans for self-employment, 34 per cent seats were allotted for BCs in the local bodies polls to see to it that they grow politically, Atchen Naidu said.

Though during the TDP regime one residential school for each Assembly segment was set up, after Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power he destroyed the entire system and even discontinued the Adarana scheme besides slashing the percentage in reservations for them, the TDP state unit president stated. The corporation system has totally collapsed in the YSRCP rule, he said and stated that it is only the TDP that extended maximum assistance for BCs.

Jagan’s utterings on farmers welfare are totally false: TDP Farmers wing chief

0

President of the farmers wing of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Marreddy Srinivasa Reddy, on Monday said that the farming community in the State is facing a serious crisis as they, in the first place, unable to cultivate crops and if those who could manage are not in a position to sell their farm products.

The YSRCP leaders and their supporters who are acting as middlemen, are not allowing the farmers to sell their products but Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is not taking any action against them. “By releasing false advertisements in the media, Mr Jagan is cheating the farming community,” Srinivasa Reddy, who is the TDP senior leader, observed.

The Rythu Bharosa scheme has been introduced only to release advertisements to help his own media but not to help the farming community, he said. Through these false advertisements, the whole State is being misled and Jagan uttered total falsehood at the Monday’s public meeting that he addressed at Nandyal, Srinivasa Reddy maintained.

The people of the State are well aware that Minister, Kakani Govardhan Reddy, always misleads them but Jagan, who is sitting in the Chief Minister’s chair, too shamelessly is utterring lies, the TDP senior leader observed. “The Government has till now released only Rs 14,000 cr for farmers welfare but is claiming that a whooping Rs 1,33,562 cr has been released,” he pointed out.

Stating that Rs 30,000 cr benefits were extended to the farmers in the State during Chandrababu Naidu regime, Srinivasa Reddy demanded Jagan to come out with facts as to how he has paid Rs 6,684 cr as crop insurance to the farming community. The Rythu Bharosa centres have turned into centres killing farmers, he noted.

Did Jagan or Govardhan ever visit any of the Rythu Bharosa centres in any part of the State to know the ground reality, he asked. These centres have now become centres to loot the farming community, the TDP farmers wing chief stated.

Jagan Mohan Reddy is well aware of the facts that Govardhan and others under the guidance of the Advisor to the Government, Sajjala Ramakrishan Reddy, are taking the farmers for a ride in the name of purchasing the farm products, the TDP leader said. Over Rs 18,000 cr has gone into the pockets of the YSRCP leaders who are involved in the farm products purchase, he said.

Three capitals only to create hatred among people, say TDP leaders

0

The ruling party leaders are giving the slogan on three capitals only to create hatred among the people of different regions, said the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders here on Saturday.

At a round-table meeting held at this port city of Visakhapatnam, the president of the State unit of the party, Atchen Naidu felt that there is no clarity among the YSRCP leaders themselves who called for a ‘Garjana’. He is of the opinion that North Andhra witnessed development only during the TDP regime.

Former minister, Ayyannapatrudu asked as to why Ministers, Dharmana Prasada Rao and Botsa Saytanarayana, are not now talking about the capital and said that properties worth over Rs 25,000 cr were mortgaged only for their own benefits.

Former minister, Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy, said that Amaravathi will continue to be the capital of the State and Dharamana Prasada Rao is stooping so low with regard to the Vizag Steel Plant.

Another former minister, Sujayakrishna Ranga Rao, stated that the ruling YSRCP had totally damaged the Haritha Resorts and the YSRCP is inciting hatred among the people in the name of three capitals.

The former MLA, Kuna Ravi Kumar, is of the opinion that there is no mention of three capitals in the Constitution and the intellectuals should realise the fact that which political party had developed the State.

Former minister, Kimidi Kala Venkat Rao, felt that Andhra Pradesh is now witnessing the state and violence and those who are in power resorting to ‘Garjana’ only amounts to this. He said that the Chief Minister, who is supposed to do justice to the people, is resorting to doing injustice to them.

MP and senior TDP leader, Rammohan Naidu, asked as to why the ruling party leaders are not opening their mouth on the railway zone and why they are not fighting for the special category status for the State.

TDP is a party with national outlook, says Chandrababu Naidu

1

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president and former chief minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Friday said that the TDP is a political party with national outlook and has created history in national politics.

After administering oath to the Legal Cell of the TDP, Chandrababu Naidu said that the TDP is the only regional outfit that had once played the major role of Opposition party status in Parliament and was a partner in bringing in several reforms in the country. Observing that the Legal Cell plays a crucial role in the functioning of the party, Chandrababu Naidu said that advocates played a key role in the struggle for Independence too.

Democracy stands aloft only on the four pillars, Legislature, Executive, Media and Judiciary, the TDP national president observed and felt that the judiciary has the highest powers to correct any of the other three wings. Maintaining that it is the TDP which encouraged advocates in politics, he said the party had fielded 125 graduates, 20 doctors, eight engineers besides 47 advocates.

Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar, who earlier worked for the Legal Cell of the TDP is now elevated as the member of the Rajya Sabha, Chandrababu Naidu said and stated that he never felt that the police system in the State will face such a situation.

Stating that during the TDP regime, certain clean police officers were given key postings to run the administration, Chandrababu Naidu expressed serious concern that the situation in the State is totally different as corrupt police officers are being given plum posts now.

The people in the State should realise these facts, he felt and noted that if such a person assumes the chair of the Chief Minister, the fate of the State can easily be understood. It is for the first time in the history of the country that a member of Parliament (MP) is harassed in police custody and the police even threatened that same MP that he would be finished in custody, Chandrababu maintained.

Buddha Prasad holds silent protest

1

Noted Gandhian, former minister and TDP leader, Mandali Buddha Prasad, at his residence in Avanigadda village of Krishna district on Friday. He blamed the state police for denying permission for him to hold a protest in the town along with the farmers.

Buddha Prasad, who was the deputy speaker of Assembly from 2014 to 2019, told media persons that the farmers of Gudur mandal in his Avanigadda Assembly constituency were having big trouble with flood water.

He said that 4,000 acres of agricultural land in Gudur has had flooding problems for the past three years. The farmers of the village have given several representations to the state government to solve their problem. However, he regretted that the government did not come to their rescue till date.

He wanted to hold a one-day protest with the farmers to highlight the issue. However, the police have denied permission suppressing his right to protest. He also alleged that the officials were not responding to the requests or representations of the people in the state.

He blamed the government for neglecting the farmers’ issues despite repeated representations and wanted the government to respond.

Buddha Prasad said that he had started the silent protest in his house as the police had refused permission. He wanted the police to reconsider their decision and give him permission to hold a protest along with the farmers.

He reiterated that he would continue to hold protests till the government resolved the problem of the farmers. He wanted the government to find a permanent solution to the problem.

Jagan is keen on creating regional differences, says TDP

1

Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has a vengeful attitude towards the farmers of Amaravati and thus he is enacting a drama in the name of three capitals, said TDP politburo member, Nimamla Ramanaidu, on Wednesday.

The TDP politburo member told media persons at the state party headquarters here that the Cabinet Ministers from the North Andhra region are keeping silent though the Chief Minister is creating hatred among the people and raising regional imbalances. The unfortunate developments in the State are reflecting the performance of Jagan, he said.

He further added that while Chandrababu Naidu during his tenure as the chief minister had developed Visakhapatnam as economic capital, Jagan turned it into crime capital. The High Court had already made it clear that the State Assembly has no right to change the capital decided under the provisions of the State Reorganisation Act, he pointed out.

Was Kottu Satyanarayana given the Deputy Chief Minister post only to harass the farmers of Amaravati, Ramanaidu asked. The Minister, who could not clear the Rs 700 cr dues to the farmers for purchasing farm products, is insulting the farmers, he added.

Recalling that Chandrababu Naidu, during his regime, had given top priority for development of the State and decentralisation. Irrigation and drinking water were on the top of his agenda, the TDP politburo member said and stated that a whooping Rs 60,000 cr was spent for the construction of projects.

Ramanaidu is of the opinion that it is Jagan who should be questioned on development of the State but nor the Amaravati farmers. What happened to the Vamsadhara-Nagavali project works and the Ministers from the North Andhra region like Botsa Satyanarayana and Dharmana Prasada Rao should demand a reply from the Chief Minister, Rama Naidu asked.

TDP to launch Save Uttarandhra movement

0

The opposition TDP is planning to launch a new movement in Uttarandhra region to protect the properties of the people and the government allegedly by the ruling YSR Congress leaders. TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu told the party leaders to start the “Save Uttarandhra” movement exposing the land grabbing activities of the ruling party leaders.

He alleged that the YSR Congress leaders have scared the investors from Visakhapatnam. He said that the YSR Congress leaders were also scaring the people of the region by grabbing their properties.

Chandrababu Naidu held a video conference with the party leaders from Uttarandhra on Wednesday from the party office at Mangalagiri. He told the leaders that every section of the people have lost something or the other in the last three years due to the criminal activities of the ruling party leaders.

He also alleged that chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was trying to create differences among the people by encouraging counter agitation to Amaravati farmers. The three capitals’ agitation is to create disturbance in the state, he alleged.

Chandrababu Naidu said that the courts have already told the government that Amaravati has to be developed as the capital city. He further said that three capitals is not practical and possible and wanted the chief minister to stop playing with the sentiments of the people.

Referring to the impending Graduate MLC elections in North Andhra region, Chandrababu Naidu wanted the rank and file of the party to work hard and wrest the seat. He wanted the party leaders to enrol graduates as voters and win the seat.

The TDP chief told the party leaders that he would recognise the leaders whoever works hard for the party and the people. “I have all the data about every leader,” the TDP chief told the party leaders and asked them to speed up the party work.

TDP dares Jagan to dissolve Assembly to seek fresh mandate on three capitals

1

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) AP unit president, K Atchen Naidu alleged that the ministers and the YSR Coongress leaders were spitting venom on Amaravati farmers only due to fear of losing posts. He said that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, was chanting three capitals’ issue in the name of decentralisation.

Atchen Naidu, along with TDP politburo members Chintakayala Ayyannapatrudu and Nakka Ananda Babu, told media persons at the party headquarters here that Jagan was facing resistance from the public, the TDP state president stated.

Observing that the former chief minister, late N T Rama Rao, was the brain behind the decentralisation, Atchen Naidu said that his successor, Chandrababu Naidu, continued it. During the TDP regime, the administration was taken to the people in the name of ‘Prajala Vaddaku Palana’ (administration to the doorstep of the people). In fact, before the TDP came to power, the people never knew to whom they had to approach to resolve their problems, the TDP state unit president observed.

During Chandrababu regime, Visakhapatnam has been upgraded as the city of technology and almost some unit or the other have been set up in all the districts in the State, from Srikakulam to Chittoor, he maintained.

If the Chief Minister is so keen on three capitals, he should dissolve the Assembly and seek a fresh mandate from the voters on the same demand making it as a referendum, he said. The TDP always stands by its word and has gone to the electorate in 2019 with Amaravati as the capital and in 2024 too the party will go to the voters again with the same manifesto, he added.

Asking the YSRCP leaders as to why they are seeking his resignation, Atchen Naidu felt that in fact, the YSRCP leaders should quit their posts as they never keep the promises made to the people. Ministers, Botsa Satyanarayana and Dharmana Prasada Rao and Assembly Speaker, Tammineni Seetharam, always take people for a ride. These leaders should recollect what they had said earlier and how they are changing tack now, he said.

Assembly has no right to change capital, says TDP

1

Senior TDP leader and Visakhapatnam Parliament Constituency incharge, Palla Srinivasa Rao said that the State Assembly has no right to change the capital as it desires. This was clear with YSR Congress MP, V Vijayasai Reddy, introducing a private member bill in Rajya Sabha seeking powers to the state, he said.

Srinivasa Rao found fault with the YSR Congress leadership for destroying Amaravati and disturbing the state with the three capitals slogan. He said that the YSR Congress could not develop anything in the last three years.

The TDP leader said that the YSR Congress could not repair the roads and wondered how they could build three capitals. He asked the YSR Congress leaders to stop misleading people on Amaravati. He said that people are not ready to buy the YSR Congress lies anymore.

Srinivasa Rao also alleged that the YSR Congress leaders were creating differences among the people for their own political gains. He said that people of Rayalaseema, Uttarandhra and coastal Andhra were all together in working for the development of the state. However, he regretted that the ruling YSR Congress was creating differences among the people of the three regions.

He also took a strong dig at the ruling party leaders for instigating the people of Uttarandhra to fight against the Amaravati farmers. He wondered what development that the YSR Congress brought for Uttarandhra region in the last three years if they had any love for the region.

He criticised the YSR Congress leaders for planning rallies in Visakhapatnam against the Amaravati farmers who are on padayatra to Arasavalli temple. He said that the Amaravati farmers were getting unconditional support from the people of the state. As the farmers were currently in the Godavari district, he maintained that people were welcoming them.

Similarly, the people of Uttarandhra too would welcome the Amaravati farmers and support their cause. He alleged that the YSR Congress had betrayed the Amaravati farmers who had given their lands for the capital city.

Two YCP MLAs quit, ask TDP MLAs too to resign on Amaravati issue

1

The ruling YSR Congress in Andhra Pradesh threw an open challenge to the opposition TDP on the Amaravati issue. Two of the ruling party MLAs have said that they are ready to quit their posts and seek re-election in support of three capitals and dared the TDP MLAs to quit and seek re-election.

Former minister Avanti Srinivas and government whip Karanam Dharmasri have announced that they are ready to resign and seek re-election on decentralisation and three capitals issue. They dared the TDP MLAs to resign and seek re-election on Amaravati as the only capital.

Government whip Dharmasri had given his resignation letter to the Joint Action Committee leaders at the meeting and dared the TDP MLAs to follow suit. He asked TDP AP Unit president and Tekkali MLA K Atchennaiadu to give his resignation and seek re-election if he is committed to the development of Amaravati as the only capital for the state.

The ruling party organised a round table conference in Visakhapatnam on Saturday where a joint action committee was formed. The joint action committee had resolved to organise a massive rally in the city in support of three capitals. The speakers asked the State government to speed up the process of declaring Visakhapatnam as the administrative capital of the state.

As the padayatra of the Amaravati farmers is approaching Visakhapatnam, the meeting resolved to organise protests and rallies in support of decentralisation plans of the government. The first rally would be held on October 15 in Visakhapatnam.

The JAC was also asked to organise a wide range of programmes in the state in support of decentralisation and three capitals. They strongly argued that decentralisation would help spread the fruits of development equally to the three regions of the state.

The meeting also requested the state government not to repeat the mistake committed in Hyderabad by concentrating the development of only Hyderabad ignoring other parts of the state.

As the ruling party MLAs have offered to quit and seek re-election, it is now to be seen how the TDP would respond.

Did Naidu promise LS ticket to Chintakayala Vijay?

1

Rumours are doing rounds in Andhra Pradesh about TDP chief and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, giving an assurance to Chintakayala Vijay on party ticket for the 2024 elections. It is said that Chandrababu Naidu had assured the Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha ticket to Vijay.

However, it is said that he had laid a condition that Vijay should work with the Amaravati farmers and make their padayatra a grand success in Visakhapatnam. The rumours say that Chandrababu Naidu had asked Vijay to give wide publicity to the Amaravati yatra before it enters the Visakhapatnam city.

Vijay is already working with the TDP in its IT wing. He is heading the I-TDP which is taking care of the party’s social media wing. Vijay is also the son of former minister Chintakayala Ayyannapatrudu, who is going tough on the ruling YSR Congress, particularly chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Sources further say that Chandrababu Naidu had also asked former minister Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy to work together with the party leaders and make the Amaravati yatra a success. He told the former minister that the party would give Pendurthy Assembly seat to his son Bandaru Appala Naidu.

Interestingly, the two former ministers in TDP are making arrangements for the entry of their heir into electoral politics in 2024. Chandrababu Naidu too is understood to have accepted the proposal, but had given them the task of making the Amaravati yatra a success in Uttarandhra.

While Chintakayala Vijay is actively associated with the party at the State level, Bandaru Appala Naidu is closely working with the rank and file of the party in Pendurthy constituency.
