TDP slams YSRCP govt for not allowing its leaders to visit Macherla

0

The politburo member of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Varla Ramaiah, on Sunday asked as to why his party leaders were not allowed to visit Macherla to meet the victims of the ‘government-sponsored’ violence there.

Varla Ramaiah expressed surprise that even after conducting cordon and search operation in Macherla, how the ruling YSRCP activists were allowed to carry lethal weapons, bottles filled with petrol and other weapons.

Observing that the violence in Macherla is certainly government-sponsored, the TDP politburo member said that the victims were of the opinion that the Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence), Seetharamanjaneyulu, and the Superintendent of Police of Palnadu, Ravishankar Reddy, were instigating the violence.

“The SP is only trying to play down the whole episode to protect the YSRCP activists,” Varla Ramaiah felt. When the local TDP office was set ablaze, five cars were damaged, two cars were burnt, and the houses of the local TDP activists too were damaged, the SP termed this as a minor incident. “All this indicates that the SP was well aware of the incidents much before they happened,” Ramaiah remarked.

While cases under serious sections like attempt to murder which are non-bailable were registered against the TDP activists, who are the victims, cases under bailable Sections were registered against the YSRCP workers. “This reflects the biased attitude of the SP,” Varla Ramaiah added.

“If the incidents are so minor why prohibitory orders under Section 144 have been imposed,” he asked. He alleged that the TDP leaders were leaving Macherla unable to bear the harassment of the local police. The TDP leaders are not allowed even to meet the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) and the SP, he added.

He claimed that no police official till now visited the places of incidents and the video footage has not been examined. The TDP politburo member demanded that the Director General of Police (DGP), Rajendranath Reddy, immediately visit the spot and order for an impartial inquiry into the whole episode.

Varla Ramaiah also demanded that those involved in the violence be arrested immediately and the Additional DG (Intelligence), the SP and other police officers be transferred.

Lokesh demands age relaxation for jobs in police dept

0

TDP general secretary and former minister, Nara Lokesh, on Monday demanded relaxation of the age limit for appointments in the State police department.

In a letter to the chairperson of the Police Recruitment Board, Lokesh felt that several candidates will become ineligible with the conditions laid down in the job notification for the recruitment to the police department.

Stating that the last notification for recruitment in the department was issued during the TDP regime in 2018, Lokesh said in the letter that the YSRCP which came to power by promising issuance of a job calendar every year issued this notification after three-and-half years.

The unemployed youth felt happy with the notification released after almost four years, he said, adding that they totally got disappointed with the age limit set in the notification. He said that the youth have been taking coaching for the past three years with the fond hope of getting a job in the police wing.

However, he regretted that the age limit set in the notification has totally disappointed them since many of them have crossed the age limit as there was no notification in the past three years.

Lokesh said that the State government should take into consideration the age relaxation of five years given by the neighbouring State of Telangana and relax the age limit here too to enable the candidates to appear for the exam.

There is a need to relax the age limit so that more candidates will become eligible for the jobs, Lokesh said.

YSRCP indulging in large-scale irregularities in Council polls for Graduates constituencies: Yanamala

0

Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council and former Finance minister, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, on Sunday said that the YSRCP is indulging in large-scale irregularities in the Council election for the Graduates constituencies.

Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that the enarmous abnormalities that were found in the draft voters list is a classic example of this. The same person’s name was registered two or three times while those who studied only 10th standard or Intermediate too are enrolled as voters, thus indulging in massive irregularies, Ramakrishnudu said.

Targets have been set for Ministers, MLAs and volunteers and thus even ineligible persons are enrolled as voters, the Leader of Opposition in the Council said and advised the officials not to fall victim to the manipulations of the YSRCP by joining hands with them. The officials should perform their duties as per the laid down norms to uphold the democratic values, Ramakrishnudu said and felt that the ruling party is adopting feudalistic attitude even in the polls in which only intellectuals take part.

He pointed out that nearly 10,000 ineligible voters have been enrolled in Srikakulam, Vizainagaram and Visakhpatnam Graduates constituency area while large number of such ineligible voters were enrolled in Kadapa, Anathapur, Kurnool, Prakasam, Nellore and Chittoor segment area. The ruling party is totally violating the guidelines of the Election Commission only to ensure the victory of their party candidates, he stated.

Ramakrishnudu made a fervent appeal to the Election Commission to immediately delete all these over 50,000 bogus votes and also see to it that the volunteers do not take part in the poll process.

YSRCP leaders level baseless charges, says Lokesh

1

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) general secretary and former minister, Nara Lokesh, on Wednesday dared the YSRCP leaders to prove the charges levelled against the TDP leaders or face defamation.

Participating in the ‘Idemi Kharma Mana Rashtraniki’ programme at Nidamarru in Mangalagiri Assembly segment, Lokesh said that it has become a habit for YSRCP leaders, to level baseless charges and run away from the State.

‘The TDP leaders did not commit even a single mistake in five years when the party was in power,’ he said adding that whether the YSRCP leaders can prove even a single charge levelled against any TDP leader.

Lokesh visited the villagers and interacted with them personally to know their problems. The locals submitted memoranda to Lokesh and complainted that their houses were demolished without any reason.

Later, addressing media persons, Lokesh said that it has become a habit to Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, to tell lies to the public and later make them believe them. He dared Jagan to prove any charge that levelled against him.

”If they fail to prove the charges, the ruling party leaders should be prepared to face defamation cases,” he said. Lokesh asked as to why the industries are moving out of the State.

”If pollution is the reason as to why the industries are being chased out of the State, then why the Bharathi Cements is still allowed to be operated in the State,” he asked.

Jagan govt driving away companies: Chandrababu Naidu

0

A day after Amara Raja Batteries announced plans to invest Rs 9,500 crore in Telangana to set up research and manufacturing facilities for lithium-ion battery, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday alleged that Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government in Andhra Pradesh is driving away companies.

Amara Raja, whose chairman and managing director is TDP MP Galla Jayadev, on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government of Telangana.

Former chief minister Naidu said in a span of 4 decades, Amara Raja became become the pride of Andhra Pradesh by creating direct and indirect employment to over 1 lakh families in Rayalaseema region.

The 1 billion dollar company is now leaving its home state and looking out for opportunities in neighboring states that are more than happy to host with Rs 9,500 crore as investment, he said.

“Through its state-sponsored terrorism, YSRCP is achieving its goal to kill both jobs and economy. When states are competing with each other to attract companies, Andhra Pradesh is earning a notorious reputation for driving away companies, taking back lands, harassing them with raids and refusal of permissions,” tweeted the former chief minister.

He alleged that in the case of Amara Raja, the Jagan government went a step further by stopping power supply to its plants.

He said even court orders have been disrespected with non-compliance. Just for the sake of harassing a political opponent, the Jagan government is destroying the state’s reputation and potential, he said.

“He will not be forgiven for his betrayal of people’s mandate. History will not be kind to this monster of a man,” added Naidu.

Meanwhile, YSRCP has hit back at Chandrababu Naidu.

YSRCP parliamentary party leader V. Vijayasai Reddy wondered if Chandrababu Naidu can’t even persuade his own MPs to invest in Andhra Pradesh, how can he talk about getting foreign investments to the state.

“The 9,500 crore investment of Amara Raja Batteries in Telangana shows the opportunism of TDP leaders,” said the Rajya Sabha member.

J’ tax totally collapsed industrial sector in AP, says Dhulipala Narendra

1

Former MLA and senior TDP leader, Dhulipala Narendra Kumar, on Saturday said that the industrial sector in Andhra Pradesh has totally collapsed with the imposition of ‘J’ tax, faulty policies of the government and harassment of the industrialists by the ruling YSRCP leaders.

Talking to media persons at the party headquarters, Narendra said that the ruling party of the neighbouring State of Telangana is really feeling happy with the policies adopted by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, that except the units owned by the ruling YSRCP leaders no other industry should survive in Andhra Pradesh. The industrialists are openly admitting that they are leaving the State since they could not pay the unnecessary taxes being imposed on them.

“However, the companies owned by Jagan and his associates in the State are flourishing,” he said, adding that the Government of Telangana, which is getting elated as investments are moving there, is saluting Jagan. When the TDP was in power, AP competed with Gujarat in attracting investments but now the State has touched the 14th position, Narendra pointed out.

Narendra said that the statistics clearly indicate that when the TDP was in power, between 2014 and 2019, a total of 237 major and medium industrialists had invested Rs 62,523 cr creating employment to 93,200 persons, while 37,956 small industrialists invested Rs 16,000 cr creating employment to 4,000 persons. How long Jagan takes the people for a ride by claiming that the industrialisation is progressing well now as the Government statistics are clearly mentioning that the industrialisation is moving at a snail’s pace, he said.

Pointing out that big industries like the Navayuga Company are moving out of Andhra Pradesh as they are unable to bear the harassment by the Government, Narendra stated. No need to mention as to why the Amara Raja Batteries, owned by TDP MP, Galla Jayadev, moved to Telangana, he added.

The Lulu Group which was ready to invest Rs 7,000 cr in the port city of Visakhapatnam during the TDP regime, moved to Uttar Pradesh after Jagan came to power, Narendra said. The Jackie company too bid goodbye to AP as the management was unable to bear the harassment by the local public representatives, he added.

TDP MLC BT Naidu demands Minister Jayaram’s resignation

0

Minister Gummanur Jayaram, is shamelessly continuing in the Cabinet though his illegal land grabbings have been thoroughly exposed with evidence, said MLC and senior TDP leader, B T Naidu, on Friday.

Naidu said that Minister Jayaram is now claiming that he had purchased lands with an annual income of Rs 52 lakh was not mentioned in the election affidavit. The annual revenue that the Minister has shown in the affidavit in 2018 was Rs 1.44 lakh, he said.

Jayaram has mentioned in the affidavit in 2019 that he owned only eight acres and how he could purchase 203 acres in a matter of just 16 months, he wondered. “From where did he get so much of money,” Naidu asked.

Jayaram illegally occupied lands, the TDP MLC said and asked if it is not a fact that the Minister applied to the Kurnool District Cooperative Central Bank for agricultural loan. Pointing out that the farmers in Rayalaseema are committing suicide due to crop failures, he expressed surprise that the Minister could earn crores of rupees through farming. “Did you grow ganja or any other crop in your lands,” he asked.

The Coromandel police in Bengaluru filed a case against Jayaram on May 5, 2020 on a complaint from the management of Ithina Plantation, the TDP MLC said. He further stated that the Minister and his family members illegally occupied the lands belonging to the management of the Ithina Plantation.

Since there is no security for the lands as the Minister is forcibly occupying them using his power, the TDP MLC said that unless a thorough probe is ordered and brings to light the land grabbings of Jayaram, he will continue his land grabbings.

Naidu accuses Jagan of betraying SHG women

0

TDP chief and leader of opposition N Chandrababu Naidu alleged that chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had betrayed the women of the Self-Help Groups. He said that the chief minister was using the SHGs only as a crowd for the government meetings.

Chandrababu Naidu, who is currently touring the undivided West Godavari district for the past two days held an interactive session with the SHG women at Kovvuru. He told them how he had introduced the Dwacra groups in the 1990s when he was the chief minister. He said that these groups have become a model for every state in the country.

Chandrababu Naidu said that he tried to make women entrepreneurs by encouraging them to start self-business. The government had supported the women groups with the financial assistance, he said and all the groups in the state were given the bank linkage during his tenure as the chief minister.

However, the successive governments were using the women groups only to attend the public meetings of the chief ministers. The TDP chief also said that Jagan Mohan Reddy was giving money to the people by one hand and taking it back with increased prices by the second hand.

He enquired with the women about the welfare schemes that the Jagan Mohan Reddy government had initiated in the last three years. He said that Jagan Mohan Reddy had destroyed the state in just three years, while he built it brick by brick in the last five years after the bifurcation.

The TDP chief made an appeal to the women to stand by the TDP in the 2024 general elections and ensure that the party returned to power in the state. He felt that the future of the state would be safe only if the TDP is voted to power.

Naidu denied permission to visit Polavaram, squats on road

1

TDP supremo and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu squatted on the road in protest against the denial of permission for him by the police to visit the Polavaram project. He along with the party leaders squatted on the road as the party ranks raised slogans against the state government.

Chandrababu Naidu, who is currently touring the West Godavari district, tried to take a delegation of the party leaders along with him to the Polavaram Project site. When he reached the approach road to the project, the police stopped him saying that he had no permission to visit the site.

Chandrababu Naidu demanded that the police give him in writing clearly stating the reasons for the denial of permission. When he tried to break into the way, the police removed the barricades and closed the road with their vehicles.

Angered at the police behavior, Chandrababu Naidu sat on the road criticising the state government for destroying the Polavaram Project. He said that he took up the work on the Polavaram project as a mission and had completed 70 per cent of the work during his stint between 2014 and 2019.

The former chief minister further said that the Central government was giving funds for the project, while chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy was directing them and wasting the funds. Former ministers and TDP leaders Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, MLA Nimmala Ramanaidu and other leaders were present along with Chandrababu Naidu in the protest. The TDP leaders were insisting on the state government and the police to give them permission to visit the project site.

Naidu blames Jagan for neglecting BCs

1

TDP chief and leader of opposition N Chandrababu Naidu alleged that chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had neglected the welfare of the BCs in the state. He said that the chief minister had not implemented even a single welfare scheme for the BCs in the last three years.

Chandrababu Naidu addressed a public meeting at Jangareddigudem of West Godavari district on Friday as part of his party’s “Idem Kharma” (what a fate) to nail the government’s failures.

The TDP chief said that Jagan Mohan Reddy had given political and other nominated posts to the BCs but not powers and funds. He alleged that the YSR Congress leaders were holding all the powers and funds, while the BC leaders were put at the mercy of these upper caste leaders of the ruling party.

The TDP chief also demanded that the government issue white paper on the BC welfare in the state in the last three years. He said that the BCs have 16 posts in the TTD, while the Jagan Mohan Reddy government had given only just three posts.

Chandrababu Naidu alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy had made the government a platform for the Reddy community. He dared Jagan Mohan Reddy to come for an open debate with him on the Reddy domination in the government including the posts of advisors and vice chancellors of the universities in the state.

The TDP chief also blamed the state government and the chief minister for their failure to complete the housing programme in the state. He said that the chief minister had promised to complete the construction of 30 lakh houses for the poor. He wanted to know where the houses were and dared the ministers to show him the completed houses.

He criticised the chief minister for forcing the Self Help Group women to attend the meetings and alleged that the officials were mounting pressure on the women to come for the chief minister’s public meetings. He said that the TDP was doing better in crowd pulling while the YSR Congress had lost its image.

Chandrababu Naidu claimed that the TDP would sweep all the Assembly seats in the undivided West Godavari district as it did in the 2014 general elections. He wanted the people to get ready to send Jagan Mohan Reddy back to jail after the 2024 general election.

Naidu gives a new slogan of ‘Quit Jagan, Save AP’

0

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and former chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu, on Wednesday termed Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, as a big liar.

Addressing a road show at Vijayarai village of Denduluru Assembly segment in Eluru district as part of the ‘Idemi Kharma Mana Rashtraniki’ (What is this ill-fate for our State), Chandrababu said that “Jagan initially played some tricks in the murder of his paternal uncle, YS Vivekananda Reddy, and later accused me of killing him. After becoming the Chief Minister, he approached the court saying that there is no need for a CBI probe into the murder case. Jagan even created a lot of troubles for Viveka’s daughter, Sunitha Reddy, and also created several obstacles for CBI probe into the case,” Chandrababu observed.
Maintaining that power is not new to him, Chandrababu said that if the people do not care for his words now, they will have to pay a very heavy price in future and the State will suffer a lot. Jagan and the YSRCP leaders are threatening the beneficiaries that the welfare schemes that they are getting now will be stopped if they attend the public meetings being addressed by the TDP leaders, he said.
“These are the reasons as to why I am asking Ee Rashtraniki Idemi Kharma,” he said and stated that the inefficient YSRCP Government is blaming him for all the problems that the State is now facing. “Even if a couple gets divided, the ruling party leaders are blaming me,” he remarked and made it clear that he cannot use the kind of objectionable language that the YSRCP leaders use.

Calling the local MLA as London Babu, the TDP national president asked as to why the MLA is not questioning the Chief Minister on the Chintalapudi project. “What this psycho Chief Minister is doing, who turned out to be a villain for film heroes,” he said and called upon all sections of people to join hands with the slogan ‘Quit Jagan, Save Andhra Pradesh’ to save the State.

Jagan has no right to continue in power any longer, says Bonda Uma

0

Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy’s futile efforts got exposed with the recent order of the Supreme Court in the murder of his paternal uncle, Y S Vivekananda Reddy, said TDP politburo member, Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, on Tuesday.

Bonda Uma told media persons here that Jagan made several efforts using his power which ultimately proved futile and this is proved with the recent Supreme Court judgment in the murder case of his paternal uncle.

“How Jagan, who could not protect the fundamental rights of the petitioners in this case, can protect the rights of the people of the State,” Bonda Uma asked and said that Jagan has no right to continue in power any longer.

He said that the comments made by the Supreme Court in the murder case of Jagan’s uncle are a serious setback to him. Those involved in the murder have not been taken into custody till now and this indicates the inefficiency and failure of the Chief Miniter, he observed. The hearing of the case by the court has been transferred to Telangana and Jagan should feel ashamed of it, he added.

Jagan Reddy’s family members have admitted that he had made use of the murder of his uncle for his personal and political gains, Bonda Uma said adding that and asked what answer Jagan has for the questions raised by his sister, Sharmila.

The comments made by the Supreme Court that the evidence is destroyed in this case and Jagan knows pretty well who had destroyed the evidence, he remarked.

The Supreme Court also opined that the petitioners, who are close relations of Jagan, do not have protection for their rights in Andhra Pradesh, Bonda Uma pointed out and said that when the blood relations of the Chief Minister do not have protection to their rights in the State how the government can protect the rights of others.

Three witnesses in the murder case have already been done to death, the TDP leader said. Another witness, Dastagiri, who turned approver in the case, too is seeking protection as he is feeling threat to his life, he stated.

Lokesh finally announces his padayatra

1

TDP general secretary and former minister Nara Lokesh on Friday announced his proposed padayatra in the state. He told his party workers at Mangalagiri about his plans and asked the rank and file to make the programme a success.

Lokesh told the party workers that his padayatra would be held from January 27 for 400 days from Kuppam in Chittoor district to Itchapuram in Srikakulam district. Interestingly, his yatra starts at the constituency represented by his father Chandrababu Naidu and ends at the constituency represented by TDP MLA Ashok Bendalam.

Lokesh would walk for four days in his Mangalagiri Assembly constituency and would leave it to the party workers. He had been active in the constituency even after his defeat in the 2019 general election. He is available for his Mangalagiri Assembly constituency at least for three days a week.

Meanwhile, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu is busy making arrangements for his son’s padayatra. He had held a meeting of the party’s young leaders and told them to stand by Lokesh during the padayatra. He also requested the TDP NRI wing to be available for Lokesh’ padayatra in providing the logistics.

Chandrababu Naidu wanted to take up a bus yatra initially but felt that padayatra would be better for Lokesh to reach out to the people. Bus yatra has some limitations while padayatra is open to the people who can walk with the leader.

After prolonged deliberations, Chandrababu Naidu zeroed in on Lokesh padayatra and the leadership is currently busy working on the route map and the strategy.

The party is also organising a back office to handle both the logistics and the communication so as to be available for both the people and the media.

TDP State-level seminar on ‘Idemi Kharma’ for aqua farmers

0

To stand by the aqua farmers, who are in deep crisis, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is organising a State-level seminar on ‘Idemi Kharma (What is this ill-fate) for aqua farmers’ at the national party office here on Thursday from 10 am till evening.

TDP state unit president, Atchen Naidu, in a release here on Wednesday appealed to all the aqua farmers in the State to attend the seminar which will be chaired by TDP president and former chief minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu. Other leaders and experts in aqua farming too will address the seminar, he added.

The focus will be on the injustice being done for the aqua farming sector and will formulate an action plan to further fight for the rights of the farmers, Atchen Naidu stated. Observing that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, who assured the aqua farmers of supply of power at Rs 1.50 per unit, has miserably failed to keep the promise, he stated.

As the Minimum Support Price (MSP) is not being paid for them, several aqua farmers are resorting to suicide and they are being harassed by imposing many conditions to purchase the product and the subsidies are no longer available, Atchen Naidu noted.

The TDP state unit president made a fervent appeal to the aqua farmers to actively take part in the seminar as the sector is deliberately being destroyed by imposing Rs 5,000 cr as ‘J’ tax.

TDP is on ventilator, says AP Speaker Thammineni

1

AP Assembly speaker Thammineni Sitaram took a dig at TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu for his provocative speeches against the YSR Congress and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in the recent past.

Speaking to media persons in Visakhapatnam on Saturday, Thammineni said that Chandrababu Naidu was unable to digest his defeat in 2019. He further said that the TDP chief had also lost the hopes of winning the next election and hence making baseless comments on the chief minister and the ruling party.

Thammineni said that the TDP had lost the confidence of the people despite Chandrababu Naidu being in power for nearly one-and-a-half decades. “I have seen Chandrababu Naidu from close quarters and I know him better than anyone else,” the speaker said.

Thammineni further said Chandrababu Naidu’s hunger for power was never ending and never satisfying. He sought to advise the TDP chief to stop worrying about power at this age and focus on health.

Jagan Mohan Reddy, as a young leader, was able to drive the state towards development in all sectors and advised the TDP chief to stop worrying about the state. The state is in safe hands, he said and added that people are not ready to buy Chandrababu Naidu’s lies any more.

The speaker also took a dig at the media for projecting Chandrababu Naidu as the only leader with vision and painting the state in bad taste. He wondered how the media could say that no one else other than Chandrababu Naidu could develop the state.

Thammineni said that the TDP had made over 600 promises during the 2014 general election and when asked the party to implement them, the leaders have removed the promises from the party portal. On the contrary Jagan Mohan Reddy had made just nine promises and all of them were rolled out in the first year of office.

The speaker said that people are wise enough to understand who is best as their leader and asked the TDP leaders to save their party in the ventilator stage before it goes into the mortuary.

TDP is an example for welfare, development, says Chandrababu Naidu

1

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and former chief minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Saturday was highly critical of the policies being adopted by the ruling dispensation, particularly against the TDP leaders and the programmes being organised by the party in the State.

Expressing satisfaction over the turn out of the crowd for his recent meetings and the programmes organised by the TDP earlier, Chandrababu said that the TDP always works with national agenda. The TDP national president was addressing the party general body meeting after launching the agitational programme titled as ‘Idemi Kharma’ (What is this ill-fate?).

Chandrababu said that the TDP was a partner in several national reforms and functioned always with responsibility, either in power or in Opposition. Stating that he had become an MLA for the first time in 1978, Chandrababu Naidu said that he has worked with several chief ministers in his career and when he himself was the chief minister many world leaders visited Andhra Pradesh to have first hand information on the administration.

Observing that the TDP is a classic example for welfare and development, he said that for the first time in his life he is witnessing such a hostile Government.

“Though I am pained at these incidents, I have to move on democratic lines and follow the norms,” he said, adding that troubles are being created at the public meetings being addressed by the TDP leaders. Several obstructions were created even for the Mahanadu programme but still those gathered for the meeting firmly resisted them, he recalled. The gathering for his Nandigama meeting is a record he said adding “I have never seen such a huge crowd for a public meeting both at Nandigama and in Kurnool addressed a couple of days ago.” he recalled.

Jagan is only trying to resist the TDP from coming back to power, Chandrababu said that the YSRCP is destroying all sectors as part of its mission. He called upon the party leaders to take the initiative to bring more awareness among the public on the need for the TDP to come to power in the coming polls and take the ongoing “Idemi Kharma’ programme seriously.

AP on top in exporting black money, says TDP

Andhra Pradesh stood on top in the country in exporting black money, said TDP official spokesman, Kommareddy Pattabhiram, here on Thursday.

Pattabhiram told media persons here that the ruling YSRCP leaders are transporting the black money by chartered flights to foreign countries, and this is thoroughly exposed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Delhi liquor scam case. “The YSRCP leaders are making Begumpet and Vijayawada airports as their centres to shift the black money to foreign countries,” he added.

Pattabhiram asked as to why Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is not allowing the CISF forces to Vijayawada airport and how VS Bharat Reddy, who belongs to Telangana and to the community of the Chief Minister, has been picked up to be appointed as the Advisor of the AP Airport Corporation. Pattabhiram expressed surprise, asking why the flight carrying the Chief Minister from Vijayawada to Tirupati halted at Begumpet airport.

The TDP spokesman demanded that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED), conduct a probe at the Vijayawada airport too along with the Begumpet airport. He also wanted the CISF security to Vijayawada airport to check the lifting of black money through air from there.

A leader of opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh was injured when an unidentified person posing as alms-seeker attacked him with a knife on Thursday.

The incident occurred at Tuni in Kakinada district on Thursday. P. Sheshagiri Rao sustained grievous injuries on his head and hands.

The assailant posing as alms-seeker attacked him while receiving alms from his hands in front of his house. The attack was captured on CCTV.

The attacker, wearing swami mala and a saffron shawl, is seen suddenly taking out a knife and attacking Rao while taking alms from his hands. He kept stabbing the TDP leader till the latter collapsed on the ground. When Rao’s family members rushed out on hearing his cries, the attacker escaped on a motorbike.

The TDP leader was admitted to a corporate hospital in Tuni. TDP leaders and former ministers Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Chinna Rajappa visited the hospital and called on Rao.

The TDP has blamed supporters of minister for roads and buildings Dadisetti Raja for the attack on Sheshagiri Rao.

TDP’s Andhra Pradesh unit president K. Atchannaidu condemned the attempt on Rao’s life.

He said ministers and MLAs were following in the footsteps of Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The TDP leader stated that Sheshagiri Rao was attacked for standing up to the “repression” and “injustices” by the YSRCP.

Atchannaidu said his party would continue to fight till all those who carried out the attempt to murder and those behind it are brought to book
