Jagan’s utterings on farmers welfare are totally false: TDP Farmers wing chief

0

President of the farmers wing of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Marreddy Srinivasa Reddy, on Monday said that the farming community in the State is facing a serious crisis as they, in the first place, unable to cultivate crops and if those who could manage are not in a position to sell their farm products.

The YSRCP leaders and their supporters who are acting as middlemen, are not allowing the farmers to sell their products but Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is not taking any action against them. “By releasing false advertisements in the media, Mr Jagan is cheating the farming community,” Srinivasa Reddy, who is the TDP senior leader, observed.

The Rythu Bharosa scheme has been introduced only to release advertisements to help his own media but not to help the farming community, he said. Through these false advertisements, the whole State is being misled and Jagan uttered total falsehood at the Monday’s public meeting that he addressed at Nandyal, Srinivasa Reddy maintained.

The people of the State are well aware that Minister, Kakani Govardhan Reddy, always misleads them but Jagan, who is sitting in the Chief Minister’s chair, too shamelessly is utterring lies, the TDP senior leader observed. “The Government has till now released only Rs 14,000 cr for farmers welfare but is claiming that a whooping Rs 1,33,562 cr has been released,” he pointed out.

Stating that Rs 30,000 cr benefits were extended to the farmers in the State during Chandrababu Naidu regime, Srinivasa Reddy demanded Jagan to come out with facts as to how he has paid Rs 6,684 cr as crop insurance to the farming community. The Rythu Bharosa centres have turned into centres killing farmers, he noted.

Did Jagan or Govardhan ever visit any of the Rythu Bharosa centres in any part of the State to know the ground reality, he asked. These centres have now become centres to loot the farming community, the TDP farmers wing chief stated.

Jagan Mohan Reddy is well aware of the facts that Govardhan and others under the guidance of the Advisor to the Government, Sajjala Ramakrishan Reddy, are taking the farmers for a ride in the name of purchasing the farm products, the TDP leader said. Over Rs 18,000 cr has gone into the pockets of the YSRCP leaders who are involved in the farm products purchase, he said.

Three capitals only to create hatred among people, say TDP leaders

0

The ruling party leaders are giving the slogan on three capitals only to create hatred among the people of different regions, said the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders here on Saturday.

At a round-table meeting held at this port city of Visakhapatnam, the president of the State unit of the party, Atchen Naidu felt that there is no clarity among the YSRCP leaders themselves who called for a ‘Garjana’. He is of the opinion that North Andhra witnessed development only during the TDP regime.

Former minister, Ayyannapatrudu asked as to why Ministers, Dharmana Prasada Rao and Botsa Saytanarayana, are not now talking about the capital and said that properties worth over Rs 25,000 cr were mortgaged only for their own benefits.

Former minister, Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy, said that Amaravathi will continue to be the capital of the State and Dharamana Prasada Rao is stooping so low with regard to the Vizag Steel Plant.

Another former minister, Sujayakrishna Ranga Rao, stated that the ruling YSRCP had totally damaged the Haritha Resorts and the YSRCP is inciting hatred among the people in the name of three capitals.

The former MLA, Kuna Ravi Kumar, is of the opinion that there is no mention of three capitals in the Constitution and the intellectuals should realise the fact that which political party had developed the State.

Former minister, Kimidi Kala Venkat Rao, felt that Andhra Pradesh is now witnessing the state and violence and those who are in power resorting to ‘Garjana’ only amounts to this. He said that the Chief Minister, who is supposed to do justice to the people, is resorting to doing injustice to them.

MP and senior TDP leader, Rammohan Naidu, asked as to why the ruling party leaders are not opening their mouth on the railway zone and why they are not fighting for the special category status for the State.

TDP is a party with national outlook, says Chandrababu Naidu

1

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president and former chief minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Friday said that the TDP is a political party with national outlook and has created history in national politics.

After administering oath to the Legal Cell of the TDP, Chandrababu Naidu said that the TDP is the only regional outfit that had once played the major role of Opposition party status in Parliament and was a partner in bringing in several reforms in the country. Observing that the Legal Cell plays a crucial role in the functioning of the party, Chandrababu Naidu said that advocates played a key role in the struggle for Independence too.

Democracy stands aloft only on the four pillars, Legislature, Executive, Media and Judiciary, the TDP national president observed and felt that the judiciary has the highest powers to correct any of the other three wings. Maintaining that it is the TDP which encouraged advocates in politics, he said the party had fielded 125 graduates, 20 doctors, eight engineers besides 47 advocates.

Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar, who earlier worked for the Legal Cell of the TDP is now elevated as the member of the Rajya Sabha, Chandrababu Naidu said and stated that he never felt that the police system in the State will face such a situation.

Stating that during the TDP regime, certain clean police officers were given key postings to run the administration, Chandrababu Naidu expressed serious concern that the situation in the State is totally different as corrupt police officers are being given plum posts now.

The people in the State should realise these facts, he felt and noted that if such a person assumes the chair of the Chief Minister, the fate of the State can easily be understood. It is for the first time in the history of the country that a member of Parliament (MP) is harassed in police custody and the police even threatened that same MP that he would be finished in custody, Chandrababu maintained.

Buddha Prasad holds silent protest

1

Noted Gandhian, former minister and TDP leader, Mandali Buddha Prasad, at his residence in Avanigadda village of Krishna district on Friday. He blamed the state police for denying permission for him to hold a protest in the town along with the farmers.

Buddha Prasad, who was the deputy speaker of Assembly from 2014 to 2019, told media persons that the farmers of Gudur mandal in his Avanigadda Assembly constituency were having big trouble with flood water.

He said that 4,000 acres of agricultural land in Gudur has had flooding problems for the past three years. The farmers of the village have given several representations to the state government to solve their problem. However, he regretted that the government did not come to their rescue till date.

He wanted to hold a one-day protest with the farmers to highlight the issue. However, the police have denied permission suppressing his right to protest. He also alleged that the officials were not responding to the requests or representations of the people in the state.

He blamed the government for neglecting the farmers’ issues despite repeated representations and wanted the government to respond.

Buddha Prasad said that he had started the silent protest in his house as the police had refused permission. He wanted the police to reconsider their decision and give him permission to hold a protest along with the farmers.

He reiterated that he would continue to hold protests till the government resolved the problem of the farmers. He wanted the government to find a permanent solution to the problem.

Jagan is keen on creating regional differences, says TDP

1

Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has a vengeful attitude towards the farmers of Amaravati and thus he is enacting a drama in the name of three capitals, said TDP politburo member, Nimamla Ramanaidu, on Wednesday.

The TDP politburo member told media persons at the state party headquarters here that the Cabinet Ministers from the North Andhra region are keeping silent though the Chief Minister is creating hatred among the people and raising regional imbalances. The unfortunate developments in the State are reflecting the performance of Jagan, he said.

He further added that while Chandrababu Naidu during his tenure as the chief minister had developed Visakhapatnam as economic capital, Jagan turned it into crime capital. The High Court had already made it clear that the State Assembly has no right to change the capital decided under the provisions of the State Reorganisation Act, he pointed out.

Was Kottu Satyanarayana given the Deputy Chief Minister post only to harass the farmers of Amaravati, Ramanaidu asked. The Minister, who could not clear the Rs 700 cr dues to the farmers for purchasing farm products, is insulting the farmers, he added.

Recalling that Chandrababu Naidu, during his regime, had given top priority for development of the State and decentralisation. Irrigation and drinking water were on the top of his agenda, the TDP politburo member said and stated that a whooping Rs 60,000 cr was spent for the construction of projects.

Ramanaidu is of the opinion that it is Jagan who should be questioned on development of the State but nor the Amaravati farmers. What happened to the Vamsadhara-Nagavali project works and the Ministers from the North Andhra region like Botsa Satyanarayana and Dharmana Prasada Rao should demand a reply from the Chief Minister, Rama Naidu asked.

TDP to launch Save Uttarandhra movement

0

The opposition TDP is planning to launch a new movement in Uttarandhra region to protect the properties of the people and the government allegedly by the ruling YSR Congress leaders. TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu told the party leaders to start the “Save Uttarandhra” movement exposing the land grabbing activities of the ruling party leaders.

He alleged that the YSR Congress leaders have scared the investors from Visakhapatnam. He said that the YSR Congress leaders were also scaring the people of the region by grabbing their properties.

Chandrababu Naidu held a video conference with the party leaders from Uttarandhra on Wednesday from the party office at Mangalagiri. He told the leaders that every section of the people have lost something or the other in the last three years due to the criminal activities of the ruling party leaders.

He also alleged that chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was trying to create differences among the people by encouraging counter agitation to Amaravati farmers. The three capitals’ agitation is to create disturbance in the state, he alleged.

Chandrababu Naidu said that the courts have already told the government that Amaravati has to be developed as the capital city. He further said that three capitals is not practical and possible and wanted the chief minister to stop playing with the sentiments of the people.

Referring to the impending Graduate MLC elections in North Andhra region, Chandrababu Naidu wanted the rank and file of the party to work hard and wrest the seat. He wanted the party leaders to enrol graduates as voters and win the seat.

The TDP chief told the party leaders that he would recognise the leaders whoever works hard for the party and the people. “I have all the data about every leader,” the TDP chief told the party leaders and asked them to speed up the party work.

TDP dares Jagan to dissolve Assembly to seek fresh mandate on three capitals

1

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) AP unit president, K Atchen Naidu alleged that the ministers and the YSR Coongress leaders were spitting venom on Amaravati farmers only due to fear of losing posts. He said that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, was chanting three capitals’ issue in the name of decentralisation.

Atchen Naidu, along with TDP politburo members Chintakayala Ayyannapatrudu and Nakka Ananda Babu, told media persons at the party headquarters here that Jagan was facing resistance from the public, the TDP state president stated.

Observing that the former chief minister, late N T Rama Rao, was the brain behind the decentralisation, Atchen Naidu said that his successor, Chandrababu Naidu, continued it. During the TDP regime, the administration was taken to the people in the name of ‘Prajala Vaddaku Palana’ (administration to the doorstep of the people). In fact, before the TDP came to power, the people never knew to whom they had to approach to resolve their problems, the TDP state unit president observed.

During Chandrababu regime, Visakhapatnam has been upgraded as the city of technology and almost some unit or the other have been set up in all the districts in the State, from Srikakulam to Chittoor, he maintained.

If the Chief Minister is so keen on three capitals, he should dissolve the Assembly and seek a fresh mandate from the voters on the same demand making it as a referendum, he said. The TDP always stands by its word and has gone to the electorate in 2019 with Amaravati as the capital and in 2024 too the party will go to the voters again with the same manifesto, he added.

Asking the YSRCP leaders as to why they are seeking his resignation, Atchen Naidu felt that in fact, the YSRCP leaders should quit their posts as they never keep the promises made to the people. Ministers, Botsa Satyanarayana and Dharmana Prasada Rao and Assembly Speaker, Tammineni Seetharam, always take people for a ride. These leaders should recollect what they had said earlier and how they are changing tack now, he said.

Assembly has no right to change capital, says TDP

1

Senior TDP leader and Visakhapatnam Parliament Constituency incharge, Palla Srinivasa Rao said that the State Assembly has no right to change the capital as it desires. This was clear with YSR Congress MP, V Vijayasai Reddy, introducing a private member bill in Rajya Sabha seeking powers to the state, he said.

Srinivasa Rao found fault with the YSR Congress leadership for destroying Amaravati and disturbing the state with the three capitals slogan. He said that the YSR Congress could not develop anything in the last three years.

The TDP leader said that the YSR Congress could not repair the roads and wondered how they could build three capitals. He asked the YSR Congress leaders to stop misleading people on Amaravati. He said that people are not ready to buy the YSR Congress lies anymore.

Srinivasa Rao also alleged that the YSR Congress leaders were creating differences among the people for their own political gains. He said that people of Rayalaseema, Uttarandhra and coastal Andhra were all together in working for the development of the state. However, he regretted that the ruling YSR Congress was creating differences among the people of the three regions.

He also took a strong dig at the ruling party leaders for instigating the people of Uttarandhra to fight against the Amaravati farmers. He wondered what development that the YSR Congress brought for Uttarandhra region in the last three years if they had any love for the region.

He criticised the YSR Congress leaders for planning rallies in Visakhapatnam against the Amaravati farmers who are on padayatra to Arasavalli temple. He said that the Amaravati farmers were getting unconditional support from the people of the state. As the farmers were currently in the Godavari district, he maintained that people were welcoming them.

Similarly, the people of Uttarandhra too would welcome the Amaravati farmers and support their cause. He alleged that the YSR Congress had betrayed the Amaravati farmers who had given their lands for the capital city.

Two YCP MLAs quit, ask TDP MLAs too to resign on Amaravati issue

1

The ruling YSR Congress in Andhra Pradesh threw an open challenge to the opposition TDP on the Amaravati issue. Two of the ruling party MLAs have said that they are ready to quit their posts and seek re-election in support of three capitals and dared the TDP MLAs to quit and seek re-election.

Former minister Avanti Srinivas and government whip Karanam Dharmasri have announced that they are ready to resign and seek re-election on decentralisation and three capitals issue. They dared the TDP MLAs to resign and seek re-election on Amaravati as the only capital.

Government whip Dharmasri had given his resignation letter to the Joint Action Committee leaders at the meeting and dared the TDP MLAs to follow suit. He asked TDP AP Unit president and Tekkali MLA K Atchennaiadu to give his resignation and seek re-election if he is committed to the development of Amaravati as the only capital for the state.

The ruling party organised a round table conference in Visakhapatnam on Saturday where a joint action committee was formed. The joint action committee had resolved to organise a massive rally in the city in support of three capitals. The speakers asked the State government to speed up the process of declaring Visakhapatnam as the administrative capital of the state.

As the padayatra of the Amaravati farmers is approaching Visakhapatnam, the meeting resolved to organise protests and rallies in support of decentralisation plans of the government. The first rally would be held on October 15 in Visakhapatnam.

The JAC was also asked to organise a wide range of programmes in the state in support of decentralisation and three capitals. They strongly argued that decentralisation would help spread the fruits of development equally to the three regions of the state.

The meeting also requested the state government not to repeat the mistake committed in Hyderabad by concentrating the development of only Hyderabad ignoring other parts of the state.

As the ruling party MLAs have offered to quit and seek re-election, it is now to be seen how the TDP would respond.

Did Naidu promise LS ticket to Chintakayala Vijay?

1

Rumours are doing rounds in Andhra Pradesh about TDP chief and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, giving an assurance to Chintakayala Vijay on party ticket for the 2024 elections. It is said that Chandrababu Naidu had assured the Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha ticket to Vijay.

However, it is said that he had laid a condition that Vijay should work with the Amaravati farmers and make their padayatra a grand success in Visakhapatnam. The rumours say that Chandrababu Naidu had asked Vijay to give wide publicity to the Amaravati yatra before it enters the Visakhapatnam city.

Vijay is already working with the TDP in its IT wing. He is heading the I-TDP which is taking care of the party’s social media wing. Vijay is also the son of former minister Chintakayala Ayyannapatrudu, who is going tough on the ruling YSR Congress, particularly chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Sources further say that Chandrababu Naidu had also asked former minister Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy to work together with the party leaders and make the Amaravati yatra a success. He told the former minister that the party would give Pendurthy Assembly seat to his son Bandaru Appala Naidu.

Interestingly, the two former ministers in TDP are making arrangements for the entry of their heir into electoral politics in 2024. Chandrababu Naidu too is understood to have accepted the proposal, but had given them the task of making the Amaravati yatra a success in Uttarandhra.

While Chintakayala Vijay is actively associated with the party at the State level, Bandaru Appala Naidu is closely working with the rank and file of the party in Pendurthy constituency.

Veerraju changes tone towards TDP leadership

1

AP State BJP president Somu Veerraju has changed his tone towards the Opposition TDP. He said that the BJP national leadership or the local leadership has not forgotten the insult caused to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah by the TDP leaders.

“We have not forgotten how TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu made his party workers slap Narendra Modi’s photo with slippers,” Veerraju said in a meeting in Vizianagaram. He also recalled how the TDP leaders have hurled abuses at Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and the BJP at the Dharma Porata Deekshas held by the TDP before the 2019 general elections.

These statements come from the BJP State chief amid speculation that the TDP-BJP alliance would be restored ahead of the 2024 general elections. In fact, there have been several rumours doing rounds in the state about the possible restoration of alliance between the two parties.

It was said that Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan and BJP leaders Y S Chowdary and C M Ramesh were trying to restore the alliance. These leaders are in fact, closely associated with Chandrababu Naidu. Y S Chowdary, a former Union Minister and former MP from TDP had switched over to the BJP after the 2019 general elections.

Though in BJP, his heart beats for Chandrababu Naidu and in fact, he had admitted the same during his recent interview to a news channel. While things stand like this, Veerraju’s statement raised an eyebrow over the BJP alliance with the TDP for the impending elections.

It is to be seen whether the alliance works or the parties would go alone in the 2024 elections.

Forget winning 175 seats, Jagan has trouble in Pulivendula, says TDP

1

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) politburo member, Reddyppagari Srinivasulu Reddy, on Thursday said that the YSRCP MPs and MLAs are only narrating cock and bull stories that the party will win all the 175 Assembly seats in the State in the next elections.

“Why should the voters re-elect the YSRCP and what is that the party has done for the people of the State,” Srinivasulu Reddy asked while talking to media persons at the TDP headquarters here. How the voters will elect 175 MLAs of the YSRCP since already 27 of the sitting MLAs made it clear that they are not in a position to visit their respective home Assembly segments, he said.

Even Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is not in a position to face the voters of his own constituency, Pulivendula, and he never made any attempt to personally interact with them to know their problems, the TDP leader stated. Jagan visited his Assembly segment amid tight security, he added.

After the YSRCP came to power, the State has been witnessing illegal encroachments of lands, unauthorised demolition of structures and filing of false cases against those who raise voice against such issues, Srinivasulu Reddy said. Even the Annamayya project displaced are not given any kind of relief and not even a single irrigation project has been completed in Rayalaseema, he pointed out.

The survey reports clearly revealed that the YSRCP is set to lose at least 127 seats and to divert the public attention from this, Jagan Reddy has been giving a statement of replacing 27 sitting MLAs for the next election, the TDP politburo member maintained. In fact, there are no takers for the YSRCP while the situation is totally different in the TDP as there is a lot of competition for the party tickets. The people in the State too want the TDP national president, Chandrababu Naidu, to come back to power again, he observed.

Though the High Court has pulled up the Jagan Mohan Reddy government on the three capitals issue, the ruling party leaders are still talking about it, he said and asked whether the YSRCP wants to divide the State into three parts. When the farmers from Amaravati are undertaking pada yatra, the ruling party is creating hurdles at every step, he stated.

TDP is so strong because of BCs support, says Chandrababu

0

TDP national president and former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said that the party is so strong today because of the strong support from the Backward Classes (BCs) of society. The BCs are the backbone for the TDP, he said.

Chandrababu Naidu said that the TDP founder and the former chief minister, late NT Rama Rao, had politically encouraged and promoted the BCs and the distinction of the BCs should now be viewed before and after the TDP. The earlier rulers considered the community only as a vote bank and they enjoyed power only after NT Rama Rao became the chief minister of the State.

Chandrababu chaired the programme wherein the TDP’s BC wing and the Empowerment Committee of the party took oath in Vijayawada where thousands of the party activists attended. Addressing the meeting, he recalled that NT Rama Rao even introduced reservation for BCs in the local bodies.

“As NTR introduced 24 per cent of reservations for the community, after I came to power I increased it to 34 per cent,” he said, adding that after Jagan Mohan Reddy became the Chief Minister of the State it came down to 10 per cent. Following this, at least 16,000 BC leaders have lost their posts, he pointed out and asked as to why the YSRCP could not continue the 34 per cent quota for the community.

The TDP national president said that when the party was given sole representation in the Union Cabinet, the post was given to Yerran Naidu and several BC leaders were posted in focal positions in the State too only with a view to making them partners in the power. He said that the community always stood by the TDP and at least 90 per cent of the community is now with the party.

Naidu recalled the programmes introduced by him for the uplift of the community and its welfare and said that it is only the TDP government that introduced a sub-plan for the BCs.

YCP accuses TDP of spyware use and data theft

1

The ruling YSR Congress in Andhra Pradesh, accused the opposition TDP of using Pegasus spyware and data theft when the party was in power before 2019. It may be mentioned here that the Assembly during the budget session in March this year had appointed a committee headed by Bhumana Karunakar Reddy to probe into allegations of Pegasus spyware use in the state.

Karunakar Reddy presented the interim report of the committee to the Assembly on Tuesday. He said that the initial inquiry of the committee confirmed the use of spyware and data theft by the TDP. He alleged that the TDP had planned to remove the votes of over 30 lakh people, who were suspected to vote against the TDP in the 2019 elections.

Karunakar Reddy said that the committee held several rounds of meetings with the senior officials and collected data from them. The committee also questioned the officials who worked with the TDP team.

He said that the TDP had started the Seva Mitra App in 2018-19 and collected the data of the people from the government departments. The government departments were asked to make calls to the people in the guise of feedback on the government performance. The data collected by various departments was transferred to the Seva Mitra team, who are associated with the TDP, he said.

Karunakar Reddy said that the committee was required to investigate further and question several senior officials of various departments, including the police. He also alleged that the TDP had also used the spyware to tap the phones of the opposition leaders.

The telephones of some of the YSR Congress leaders were also closely watched and monitored by the TDP team those days, it was alleged.

However, when Karunakar Reddy was presenting the interim report, the TDP MLAs protested against the allegations.

TDP MLAs suspended from AP Assembly for fourth consecutive day

0

Speaker Thammineni Sitaram suspended the TDP MLAs from the Assembly for the rest of the day on the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday. The members were sent out as they were holding protests at the Speaker’s podium asking for short discussion on welfare programmes.

Before the session started, the TDP MLAs and the MLCs reached the Assembly in procession holding placards stating that the government had neglected the welfare of the people. The MLAs and the MLCs alleged that the government had diverted the welfare funds from the budget and was doing injustice to the people.

The TDP MLAs alleged that chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had ignored the sub-plan funds for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes. They also blamed the state government for withdrawing Anna Canteens which were opened by the government during the TDP regime.

The TDP MLAs issued notice to the speaker seeking short discussion on the welfare programmes. However, the speaker rejected the notice and took up the business.

The MLAs raising slogans against the government held a protest at the Speaker’s podium. They demanded that the chief minister resign from his post as he failed to implement the welfare schemes in the state and withdrew the Anna canteens.

The speaker made repeated requests to the TDP members to retire to their seats and allow the House to conduct its business. However, the TDP members continued their agitation forcing the speaker to suspend them.

Minister Adimulapu Suresh alleged that the TDP members were politicising every issue. He said that the TDP had opened a few Anna Canteens in October 2018, with an eye on elections. The canteens too were few and were now being used only for political benefit.

He sought to advise the TDP leaders to stop politicising everything and asserted that people were watching.

TDP demands that justice be done to Polavaram displaced

0

The senior leaders of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and MLAs, Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary and Nimmala Ramanaidu on Monday demanded that justice be done to the Polavarm displaced.

The MLAs told media persons at the party headquarters here that the Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is misleading the Assembly by uttering total lies on Polavaram project. The Chief Minister is completely evasive when the TDP members demanded that justice be done to the project oustees.

The Chief Minister is taking the Assembly for a ride by forcibly sending the main Opposition TDP members outside the House, the senior TDP leaders stated. They said that when Jagan Mohan Reddy visited Polavaram as part of his pada yatra, not even foundation stone was laid for the project.

Nimmala Ramanaidu, who is the deputy leader of the TDP Legislature Party, is so specific that Jagan does not have even basic knowledge about the diaphragm wall and that the diaphragm wall is built below the surface. After Jagan Mohan Reddy became the Chief Minister the future of the Polavaram project is pushed into a dilemma, he said.

He mentioned that during Chandrababu Naidu’s regime, 71 per cent of the project works were completed while not even three per cent works have been completed after Jagan came to power. Even the Central Water Works wing has clearly mentioned this in its report, he said adding that the Minister for Irrigation too does not any knowledge where is the diaphragm wall is constructed, he ridiculed.

What is more ridiculous is that the Chief Minister on the floor of the House says that the spill-way should be constructed before the coffer-dam is built. Chandrababu, who wanted to complete the Polavaram project works by June 2020, simultaneously took up the construction works of coffer-dam, diaphragm wall, spill-way and earth-cum-rockfill dam, Ramanaidu stated.

The TDLP deputy leader pointed out that the IIT, Hyderabad experts in their report submitted to the Polavaram Project Authority (PPA) clearly mentioned that the damage caused to the diaphragm wall is not a natural calamity but it got damaged only because of some human blunder.

What Jagan Reddy will say on this and what is his reply, he asked and made it clear that the Chief Minister lost the credibility of the people and he has no right to continue in power any longer.

Violating the norms, Jagan resorted to ‘reserve’ tendering in the name of reverse tendering, he said and pointed out that the Polavaram Project Authority Chief Executive Officer, RK Jain, has clearly stated that it is not correct to change the contractor for the project works. He is also of the opinion that the Chief Minister is doing great injustice to the Polavaram displaced, who sacrificed their lands for the project.

Ramanaidu asked as to why Jagan Mohan Reddy did not condemn the statement made by his Telangana counterpart, K Chandrasekhar Rao, that the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister has agreed to reduce the height of the Polavarm dam from 45.75 metres to 41.15 metres. This clearly shows that he has some underhand dealing with Chandrasekhar Rao and Jagan is mortgaging the State’s interests for the sake of coming out of his cases, he stated.

Butchaiah Chowdary made an appeal to the people to closely observe the Assembly proceedings and the Chief Minister is collusion with the Speaker is making a mockery of the Assembly proceedings.

The Chief Minister turned the Legislative Assembly into a cinema house, he said and asked what happened to the promise made to the Polavaram displaced that he will pay an additional Rs 5 lakh each when he comes to power. Later, Jagan himself increased it Rs 10 lakh each, he said and stated that not even a single rupee is paid to them till now.

Butchaiah Chowdary said that Jagan is simply nodding his head before Chandrasekhar Rao only to protect his personal interests and to safeguard his properties in Telangana.

TDP holds protest with bullock carts, cops foil rally

1

TDP planned a massive protest rally to the AP Assembly seeking justice to the farmers. The farmers’ wing of the TDP planned a rally to the Assembly with bullock carts from various parts of Krishna, NTR, Guntur and Palnadu districts.

However, the police arrested the TDP farmers’ wing leaders at different places and stopped the party leaders from taking out the protest rally.

The TDP MLAs and the MLCs also planned a bullock cart rally from Mandadam village to the Assembly alleging that Jagan Mohan Reddy had betrayed the farmers in the state. However, the police stopped the bullock carts and removed bullocks from the carts.

But, the TDP MLAs and the MLCs took the carts over their shoulders and pulled them up to the Assembly gate raising slogans against the government and the chief minister. They demanded that Jagan Mohan Reddy resign as he failed to protect the interests of the farmers.

MLAs led by party State unit chief K Atchennaidu and MLCs led by Nara Lokesh pulled the carts leading the party MLAs and the MLCs. They alleged that the Jagan Mohan Reddy government had failed to help the farming community.

The TDP MLAs and the MLCs also alleged that several farmers were committing suicide because of the lack of support from the government.

TDP, BJP see conspiracy behind SLP on Amaravati

1

The opposition TDP and the BJP state unit have smelt some conspiracy behind the state government filing a special leave petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court on Saturday against the judgment of the AP high court on Amaravati controversy.

The AP high court on March 3, 2022, had directed the State government to develop Amaravati city as capital in six months. It had also directed the state to develop the commercial and residential plots to be given to the farmers in three months. The court asked the state government to provide quality infrastructure in Amaravati as per the provisions of the AP Capital Region Development Authority Act 2014.

BJP national general secretary, Y Sathya Kumar, said that the SLP was a political game of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to delay the construction of Amaravati as capital. He said that Jagan Mohan Reddy would go down in history as the most incapable chief minister who could not build the state capital.

He said that the state government would have filed the SLP within 90 days of the high court judgment. Now, it is six months and pointed out that the SLP would not stand valid before the law in the Supreme Court.

TDP Rajya Sabha member Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar, saw defeat of the State government in the court of law once again. He said that the State government was misinterpreting the high court judgment and its remarks on the jurisdiction of the State legislature to make the law on the capital city.

TDP MLA Payyavula Keshav said that the Supreme Court would reflect the feelings and sentiments of the people of Andhra Pradesh, who want Amaravati to be their capital.

AP being pushed into deep crisis, say TDP MLAs

0

TDP MLAs on Friday made it clear that realising the issues mentioned in the State Reorganisation Act is totally dependent on the State Government.

The party MLAs, who were earlier suspended from the Assembly, told media persons that the Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues visited New Delhi several times in the past three-and-half years while the Minister for Finance, Buggana Rajendranath, is permanently staying in the national capital. But they could not raise the matter before the Union Government, the MLAs said.

In fact, it is the YSRCP which demanded a steel plant for Kadapa but not even a single representation has been submitted to the Centre on this, they pointed out. The State Government has miserably failed to achieve these subjects mentioned in the Reorganisation Act and when the TDP pointed this out on the floor of the House, the ruling party is resorting to counter attacks, they observed.

The State is now witnessing a situation wherein even Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, could not get a single industry to his home district, Kadapa, but the ruling party shamelessly initiated a debate in the Assembly on industrialisation in the State, they maintained. “Except wasting the valuable time of the House, what is the use of such debates,” they asked.

Nimmala Ramanaidu, said that when the TDP members wanted to raise on the floor of the Assembly certain issues with regard to women, the poor and the middle-class sections of society, the ruling party members did not cooperate at all. The State Government is imposing heavy taxes on the people and the debt burden on each head in the State is increasing by every passing day. “In fact, the TDP wanted the House proceedings to be in order and we made a special request to the Chair to take up the Question Hour. But the Chair has rejected the adjournment motion submitted by us,” he said.

Another TDP MLA, Gorantla Butchiah Chowadary, said that all the industries were moving out of AP and the YSRCP cannot boast of achieving anything in the past three years. Except causing inconvenience to the people by imposing ‘J’ tax on them and subjecting the industrialists to wild threats, the YSRCP could not do anything for the State, he observed.

Companies like the Amar Raja Batteries and the Zuvari Cements, which have been creating employment to lakhs of people, have been forced to shut their doors following which the industrialists are shifting their units out of Andhra Pradesh, Butchaiah Chowdary said.

Jagan creating confusion among people on capital, says TDP

0

TDP MLA, Yeluri Sambasiva Rao on Thursday said that the Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is misleading the public on the issue of the capital for the State. The YSRCP leaders are now enacting a drama in the name of decentralising the administration, Sambasiva Rao said.

Recalling the assurance given by Jagan Mohan Reddy to the people of the State that he would rebuild Amaravati which was not designed well during the TDP regime, is now retracting on it, he stated. Jagan came to power only by misleading the public and is again trying to take them for a ride, he felt.

The TDP MLA is of the firm opinion that Jagan Mohan Reddy has totally misled the State Assembly on Amaravati. For the past three years the State has no capital and the Chief Minister is now creating a sort of confusion among the people.

Is it correct to divide the State into three pieces, he asked and said that the administration is made into three pieces which the Chief Minister claims the decentralisation. Administration means the governance should be closer to the people but now the entire power is centred at one place, Sambasiva Rao said.

The ruling dispensation is committing an inexcusable crime of centralising the power in the name of decentralisation.

If Jagan Mohan Reddy has so much of affection towards Visakhapatnam, what prevented him from developing the city in the past three years, he asked. When the Amaravati farmers have undertaken a pada yatra to Arasavelli, the ruling party leaders are instigating the people of North Andhra, he observed.

“We want to remind the State Government that all the offices are functioning from the buildings constructed during the TDP regime,” Sambasiva Rao said. Amaravati has been designed as per the perfect masterplan and it was accepted by the people from all the 13 combined districts, he stated. The TDP demands that the YSRCP immediately stop making false propaganda against Amaravati.

He also said that though 75 per cent of the Polavaram project works were completed during the TDP regime, the YSRCP could not complete the remaining works. The TDP leader demanded that the State Government immediately complete the remaining works of Polavaram and also reassure the people of the State that Amaravati will remain the capital.
