CBI nervous of taking up probe into cases in AP, says TDP

1

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is not fair in taking up investigation of the cases in Andhra Pradesh, said the TDP politburo member, Varla Ramaiah, on Wednesday.

Ramaiah told media persons that earlier the police were a bit scared of the CBI officers and now, after the YSRCP came to power, it is the other way round. The law and order machinery in the State is totally non-cooperative to the CBI but still the Central investigative agency is unable to initiate any action against the local police, he added.

In fact, a sort of fear psychosis is haunting the CBI officials in the State and the Central agency officers are frightened of the local police, he said adding that this kind of situation is prevalent in the State after Jagan Mohan Reddy has become the Chief Minister. There is no clarity in the CBI probe into the alleged murder of Jagan Mohan Reddy’s paternal uncle, Vivekananda Reddy, the TDP leader said.

Though the CBI officials are well aware of those persons involved in the murder of Vivekananda Reddy, but are unable to take them into custody due to the reasons known to everyone, Ramaiah felt. Whenever the CBI gets ready to take into custody those behind the murder of Vivekananda Reddy, each time the Chief Minister rushes to New Delhi and then the CBI does not move forward for some unknown reasons, he observed.

“I think for the first time in the history of the State, cases are being registered against the CBI. If this is the system one can easily imagine what will be the future of the State,” he maintained.

There were several instances wherein great personalities, even the chief ministers were jailed and none other the former prime minister, late Indira Gandhi was imprisoned for 14 times. Now, the situation is totally different and the Chief Minister is dictating terms to the CBI. If Jagan orders not to take into custody a particular person, the CBI ceremoniously is following his orders, the TDP politburo member noted.

Is the Chief Minister above law, he asked and pointed out that the CBI till now has not interrogated the accused number one Jagan and the accused number two, Vijayasai Reddy, he added. Why the CBI has not questioned Vijayasai Reddy YSRCP MP, Avinash Reddy, are not interrogated yet in the Vivekananda murder case, he asked.

CID offices in AP turned into Andaman jails, says Pattabhi

1

Crime Investigation Department (CID) offices in the State are fast turning into Andaman jails, said the senior TDP leader and party’s national official spokesperson, Kommareddy Pattabhiram, here on Tuesday.

Wishing the farmers who are on pada yatra from Amaravathi to Arasavalli a grand success, Pattabhiram told media persons here that the Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is getting impatient by the day as the anti-incumbency is fast growing. The ruling party leaders are only trying to stifle the voices of those who are questioning the Government on public issues, he said.

The State Government is totally misusing the institutions only to create trouble to those who are standing by the people and this has become most widespread of late, Pattabhiram felt. The ruling party is resorting to a vengeful attitude and is completely misusing the law and order system as false cases are being foisted against those who raise public issues, he noted.

Now physical attacks have become very common and this practice is more prevalent in the CID offices, he noted. Even their own party MP, Raghurama Krishnam Raju, is not an exception and TDP leader Vengal Rao too was subjected to such harassment recently. The TDP national spokesperson made it clear that such threats will not deter the TDP leaders from fighting for the public cause.

He asked as to why cases are being registered against the TDP national general secretary, Nara Lokesh and another party leader, Chintakayala Vijay, on the ‘dirty’ videos of their own party MP, Gorantlal Madhav. No action has been taken yet on the complaint lodged with none other than the DGP by women from the TDP and other organisations and till now Gorantla Madhav has been interrogated on his ‘dirty’ videos, he said.

“Is it wrong to question Minister Ambati Rambabu and other YSRCP leader Avanthi Srinivas,” Pattabhiram asked and said that atrocities on women have become a common practice in Andhra Pradesh now. During British rule, those who raised their voices were shifted to Andaman and were subjected to harassment. Now in Andhra Pradesh, such persons are being shifted to CID offices, which have turned into Andaman jails, he said.

Tension in AP town as TDP stages protest over ex-minister’s remarks

0

Tension prevailed in Gudivada town of Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna district on Sunday during a protest by the leaders of opposition TDP against former minister Kodali Nani over his remarks against TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, general secretary Nara Lokesh and women leaders of the party.

Police detained Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders who reached Gudivada and were proceeding to the police station to lodge a complaint against Nani, MLA from Gudivada.

Soon after the leaders left the TDP office, the police arrested them. They included former minister Uma Maheswar Rao and former chairman of RTC Varla Ramaiah. The arrested leaders were shifted to Gudur police station.

Some more TDP leaders reached the town either by APSRTC buses or on two-wheelers to stage the protest. They were on their way to One Town police station to lodge the complaint but they were stopped by the police, who had erected barricades.

The police officers told TDP leaders to give them their complaint. However, the TDP leaders insisted that they be allowed to go to the police station and lodge the complaint. There was heated argument between the two sides, leading to pushing and jostling.

In the melee, some of the leaders managed to remove the police barricades. Raising slogans against Nani, they reached the police station but found its gate locked. They questioned the police officers over locking the gate instead of receiving their complaint. The police officers allowed four leaders to enter the premises. They lodged a complaint against the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and demanded action against him.

The TDP has taken strong exception to certain remarks made by Nani against women leaders of the party and also against Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh.

Earlier, a delegation of TDP leaders from Krishna district lodged a complaint with Tadepalli police against Nani.

Cautioning the YSRCP MLA to control his mouth, the TDP leaders said Nani would be chased away from Gudivada soon.

Women leaders of TDP had also tried to lay siege to the house of Nani in Gudivada on September 6.

TDP leaders keep Gudivada on fire, police deny permission for rally

0

The opposition TDP leaders on Sunday ignited fire in the Gudivada town of Krishna district, holding a protest against local MLA and former minister Kodali Nani for his alleged defamatory remarks against the TDP.

Kodali Nani has been locked in a war of words with the TDP leaders for the past two days. The TDP leaders took strong objection to the former minister’s remarks against Chandrababu Naidu, Lokesh and some women leaders of the party.

The TDP leaders took a dig at Kodali Nani for his uncharitable remarks against the TDP top leaders and the women. They condemned Nani’s comments and sought an open apology from him.

TDP former MLC Buddha Venkanna went one step forward and asked Kodali Nani to kill them or else they will kill him after the 2024 elections.

On Sunday, the TDP leaders planned for a procession in Gudivada town to lodge a complaint against the former minister with the police. However, the police stopped Devineni Uma and Varla Ramaiah on the way at Pamarru and shifted them to the Guduru police station.

However, TDP leaders Jayamangala Venkata Ramana, Bode Prasad and Kagita Krishna Prasad reached Gudivada town by the RTC buses, giving a slip to the police. They reached the house of local former MLA Ravi Venkateswara Rao and then proceeded to the party office.

The TDP leaders tried to take out a rally from the party office to the police station to file a complaint. However, the police stopped them and said that they have no permission to take out a rally. The police also offered to take the complaint there on the road, which the TDP leaders refused.

However, after some time, the police gave permission to four of the TDP leaders to come to the police station and lodge a complaint. Following this Venkata Ramana, Bode Prasad and Krishna Prasad, besides Ravi Venkateswara Rao went to the police station and lodged a complaint against Kodali Nani.

Jagan stifling Oppn voice, says Yanamala

1

Former minister and Leader of Opposition in the State Legislative Council, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, is of the opinion that the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government was trying to lower the prestige of the legislative bodies.

In a press release issued here on Friday, the senior TDP leader said that for both the ruling dispensation and for the Opposition parties, legislative bodies are like people’s courts. They are the platforms to discuss the problems being faced by the people and the style of the administration.

But the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government is only trying to bring down the importance of these legislative bodies, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu felt. Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is caught in a sort of fear psychosis as he feels that the Opposition will question his misdeeds and thus he miserably failed to conduct the proceedings of both the Houses, he added.

In the Constitutional framework it clearly indicated that it is the primary responsibility of the elected representatives to attend the legislative proceedings. But the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government is resorting to anti-democratic activities. The Assembly as well as the Council proceedings have not been conducted for more than 25 days in one year and last year both the Houses have met only for 15 days, which is far less than even the North-Eastern States, he pointed out.

The State Government has miserably failed in almost all the sectors, including both welfare and farming, he stated. The irrigation project works are moving on a snail’s pace while the condition of roads across the State are in a very poor condition.

The less said the better about the education sector and the people are facing various kinds of problems in the State, Ramakrishnudu felt. The session period of the legislative Houses has been cut short only to avoid facing the Opposition parties, he observed.

If any leader from the Opposition parties raises his or her voice, the State Government could not digest it and is trying to stifle their voices, the former minister maintained. The ruling party is forcibly bringing before the legislative Houses certain issues that are strongly opposed by both the Opposition parties and the common public, he noted.

Ramakrishnudu is of the opinion that the three-capital issue is being introduced in the House through backdoors though even the Supreme Court has found fault with it. Assembly is being convened only to get the bills passed but not to discuss the public issues, the senior TDP leader stated and demanded that the Opposition be allocated proper time to raise public issues.

Police stations have become mom-in-law homes, Lokesh

0

Former minister and TDP leader, Nara Lokesh, had said that the police stations in Andhra Pradesh have become his mother-in-law’s homes for him. He said that he had never visited a police station in the past, but now was made to stay in the police stations and even visit jails.

Lokesh visited the family of Patibandla Narendranath, the TDP activist from Chinaravuru village of Tenali, who died recently. The former minister recalled his association with Narendranath after the 2019 general elections and said that the young leader had been very active in the party.

The TDP general secretary also promised to stand by the bereaved family in the days to come. He told the party rank and file from the Tenali Assembly constituency to be active and be helpful to those who have been working for the party.

He blamed the state government for destroying the Anna Canteens in the state. He said that chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was not helping the poor and was not letting the TDP help the poor. He wondered why Jagan Reddy was destroying Anna Canteens which were serving the poor with a meal a day.

He also criticised the chief minister for unleashing reign of terror in the state to scare the TDP leaders and activists. He said the government was framing false cases against the TDP workers and the leaders and asserted that those cases and the police stations will not scare the TDP workers.

“I have never been to any police station in the past. But, after Jagan Reddy became the chief minister, I am made to be in the police stations and even jails,” Lokesh said. He further added that he had lost the fear of being arrested or jailed. All that I am doing is fighting against this corrupt government, he added.

Lokesh says Jagan made Nellore as crime capital

1

Former minister and TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh on Wednesday alleged that chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had made Nellore as the crime capital of the state. He said that Jagan Reddy had proposed only three capitals, but had converted the peaceful Nellore town into the fourth capital.

Lokesh visited Kavali town in Nellore district and consoled the family members of a Dalit youth, Karunakar, who committed suicide recently alleging that the ruling YSR Congress leaders were harassing him.

Lokesh said that atrocities against the Dalits and women have increased in the last three years. Jagan Reddy had no love for the Dalits and women though he makes tall claims. He listed the number of atrocities committed against the Dalits and women in the state in the last three years.

The TDP general secretary accused local minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy as the perpetrator of the crime. He said that the minister was encouraging crime against the Dalits in the distrct and the suicide of Karunakar in Kavali was a clear witness.

Lokesh alleged that the YSR Congress leaders Kethireddy Jagadeeswar Reddy and Suresh Reddy have prevented Karunakar from fishing in the local tank. He said that Karunakar had taken the tank on lease for fishing but was prevented by the YSR Congress leaders, forcing him to commit suicide.

He alleged that both Jagadeeswar Reddy and Suresh Reddy were the associates of local MLA Ramireddy Pratap Kumar Reddy.

Lokesh demanded that the police book cases against these YSR Congress leaders and arrest them for abetting the suicide of Dalit youth Karunakar.

Lokesh also warned the state police against dancing to the tunes of the ruling YSR Congress leaders. He said that people would teach a fitting lesson to the YSR Congress in the next elections. Subsequently, the TDP would take the erring police officers to task in the next government, Lokesh said.

TDP’s Nirudyoga Ranam to Attract Unemployed Youth in AP

0

The Telulgu Youvatha, the youth wing of TDP has commenced its State-wide protest in the name of “Nirudyoga Ranam” (Unemployees Protest) on Monday, which will last till September 29. It will cover the entire State, starting from Srikakulam to Anantapur in the Rayalaseema region.

In fact, the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy failed to bring the “Job Calendar” as he promised during his Padayatra and that was one of the highly spoken election promises to the youth. During the tenure of TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu as Chief Minister in the bifurcated Andhra Pradesh, he issued frequent job notifications when compared with the present YSRCP government. In addition to that, Chandrababu Naidu implemented Nirudyoga Bruthi (Unemployed Allowance) to those who could not secure any employment after completing their graduation, for a certain period. That attracted the youth in the State at that time. After Jagan Reddy became Chief Minister, he abolished the Unemployed Allowance scheme. The youth in the State expected that the new YSRCP government would release the Job Calendar and frequent notifications through the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission, which is the premier Government recruitment agency in the State. But, in reality, the State government could not release either Job Calendar or frequent notifications through the APPSC. On the other hand, the government provided employment to youth through the Village and Ward Secretariats, a new system at ground level introduced by the present government. But, the salaries are comparatively low with regards to posts being recruited through APPSC.

The unemployed youth have been preparing for various competitive exams of the State government, including Group 1, Group 2 and other Departmental examinations.

Meanwhile, the State government has released certain notifications through the APPSC, in which the number of vacancies were very disappointing to the aspirants. For example, only one vacancy was released in Food Safety Officer in A.P Institute of Preventive Medicine, Public Health Laboratories and Food (health) Administration Subordinate Service. Only two vacancies issued through a notification for Hostel Welfare Officer Grade –II (Women) in A.P.B.C. Welfare Sub Service, just 6 posts released for Assistant Public Relation Officer in A.P. Information Subordinate Service. More bothering issues is, there are no vacancies for the Open Category men aspirants, in many notifications.

On the other hand, the Chief Minister Jagan Reddy has completed almost three and a half years tenure by now. There is only one and half years left in his governance. It is considered that the government could not focus much on the administration during the fifth year, which is generally considered as election year and the entire cabinet would be in campaign mode.

At this juncture, the TDP has picked up the unemployment issue as its one of the main election agenda and it has the potential to attract the unemployed youth across the State.

Revealing the schedule for Nirudyoga Ranam protest programme, Sriram Chinababu, President, Telugu Youth (TDP) informed that it would commence in Srikakulam on September 5 and would end at Anantapur on September 29. The protest programme would be organized at Srikakulam, Araku, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Kakinada, Amalapuram, Rajahmundry, Narsapur, Elur, Machilipatnam,

Will Anna Canteens be the electoral issue of TDP for 2024?

0

Anna Canteens have become a major issue for the TDP and its media to campaign in the state during the last two to three months. The TDP leaders have started opening the Anna Canteens in their respective areas in open places. While a few are in private buildings, a good number of them are in makeshift tents.

The police have been removing these tents opened in the public places and one such attempt by the police and revenue officials in Tenali town of Guntur district became a major issue. The police have removed it because the TDP leaders opened it in the vacant land belonging to the municipality.

Similar thing happened in Kuppam, which was also removed by the ruling YSR Congress activists.

Wherever the Anna canteens are opened and whatever they are serving, they have given top priority in the media these days. Even the TDP leaders are speaking about these Anna Canteens, while Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh equate them with Amma Canteens in Tamil Nadu.

The Anna Canteens has the potential to draw the attention of the people, particularly the poor, with the media giving priority. Going by the priority, it is assumed that Anna Canteens would be a potential issue for the TPD to fight the 2024 electoral battle.

Jagan Mohan Reddy’s corruption or his failures to get industries to the state may not help the TPD to draw the attention of the people, because people have been listening to these allegations from the TDP against Jagan for the past 15 years.

But, Anna Canteens has the potential, besides the political vindictive nature of Jagan would fetch better votes for the TDP, if they plan so. However, going by the way the TDP is making them an issue and the media giving priority, it is clear that the TDP would be riding on this issue in the next elections.

Vijayasai family members involved in Delhi liquor scam, says TDP

1

TDP official spokesman, Moka Ananda Sagar on Saturday revealed that the family members of the YSRCP Rajya Sabha member, Vijayasai Reddy, have close connections with the Delhi liquor scam.

Talking to media persons at the party headquarters here, Ananda Sagar said that Vijayasai Reddy is involved in adulterated liquor sale in the name of his son-in-law. He said that not even a single distillery is in operation in the addresses mentioned in the name of Adaan Distilleries.

The total transactions of the Adaan Distilleries of Vijayasai Reddy has till now is a whopping Rs 5,000 cr, the TDP spokesman revealed. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has already come to a conclusion that of this Rs 5,000 cr, Rs 2,000 cr has been paid as Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) to the Trident Life Sciences, he said.

The CBI in its charge-sheet already mentioned that Trident Life Sciences is the fifth accused in the Delhi liquor scam and it invested crores of rupees in the Jagathi Publications, Ananda Sagar stated. The CBI in its investigation found the involvement of Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s wife, Bharathi, in the Delhi liquor scam, he said adding that the Trident Life Sciences is already facing charges in Jagan’s illegal assets case.

“This is a clear indication that the Delhi liquor scam case is revolving around Jagan Reddy and Vijayasai Reddy,” he said.

In the three-year rule of Jagan, the State has been witnessing lootings and atrocities. Whichever programme the Chief Minister takes up, there is some secret agenda behind it, he commented.

Jagan, who has come to power by promising total prohibition, is minting money through liquor sales after assuming office. At least 5,000 persons lost their valuable lives by consuming adulterated liquor and by banning the sale of foreign liquor brands, he observed.

Jagan wants to spend the whole amount that he has earned in this manner and wants to come back to power again. The TDP will not allow such scamsters and will fight till justice is done to the people of the State, he maintained.

Naidu names MLC candidates for graduate constituencies

0

TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu announced the names of the party candidates for the Graduate Constituency elections. He announced the names at the party’s extended general body meeting held at the party office in Mangalagiri on Friday.

The TDP chief named Bhumireddy Ramgopal Reddy and Kancharla Srikanth for the two Graduate MLC constituencies. He said he would soon announce the name for the north coastal region constituency.

The elections for these constituencies are likely to be held in January-February 2023 as the incumbents are scheduled to retire on March 29, 2023. These constituencies are currently represented by Progressive Democratic Front MLC, Y Srinivasula Reddy for Chittoor, Nellore and Prakasam, YSR Congress MLC Vennapusa Gopal Reddy for Anantapur, Kurnool and YSR Kadapa constituency and BJP MLC P V N Madhav for Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam constituency.

Chandrababu Naidu wanted the rank and file of the party to work hard to win all the three MLC seats. He wanted the candidates and leaders to work hard and be with the people till the 2024 general elections are held. He asked the party leaders, former MLAs and ministers to stay in their respective constituencies and increase their interaction with the people.

The TDP chief wanted the party leaders to prepare the people to send Jagan Mohan Reddy out of power. He also told the party leaders to stand by the people in their fight against the government and even be prepared to face police cases.

“Don’t worry about the police cases. We are coming to power and will clear the cases,” Chandrababu Naidu told the party workers and the leaders. He dared the YSR Congress leaders to face the TDP ranks without police security. He alleged that the YSR Congress leaders were using the police to foist cases against the people and the TDP workers.

“We are not afraid of the police. We will throughout this government,” Chandrababu Naidu asserted.

Rulers need to have vision but not hatred: Chandrababu Naidu

0

The TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu, observed that the rulers need to have a vision as to how to develop the State but should not have hatred against the people. But now Andhra Pradesh is witnessing hatred, he said here on Friday.

Chairing the TDP general body meeting at the party headquarters here, Chandrababu Naidu said that the party has successfully completed 40 years of existence. “Also, 27 years ago on this day I took charge as the chief minister of the State,” he added.

The State will always remember the good works that the TDP has executed during the party’s regime. It is 40 years ago that NT Rama Rao had formed the TDP and it is NT Rama Rao who introduced welfare schemes like food security, in the State for the first time, he stated.

It was Mr NT Rama Rao who introduced residential system at the Gurukulams for the poor in the State and pucca houses for the downtrodden sections of society, Chandrababu Naidu said.

TDP is a regional political outfit with national outlook that has always strived for the welfare of the people, the TDP national president said adding that the party leaders should have self-confidence along with self-respect. “We have developed the State with a vision but today the ruling party leaders have developed hatred and wherever you go you can witness this,” he maintained.

The recent incident in Ananthapur district wherein a constable, Prakash, has been removed from service for holding a placard. The woman, Ms Srilakshmi, who openly said that the constable did not harass her is now being subjected to persecution, he said.

If someone raises any issues, he or she is becoming a target now. The constable is now found missing and this speaks volumes about the style of functioning of the present Government, he stated.

“It always gives me satisfaction to see the Telugu people at the top of every sector. What is Hyderabad today is because it is developed with a vision. The developmental works that were taken up 27 years ago are now yielding excellent results,” he observed.

An average American revenue in the United States is 65,000 dollars a year while an Indian who is America is earning 1.25 lakh dollars per annum. “That is the status of the Indians there. But the condition in the State is totally different,” he observed.

Though the State suffered a lot due to bifurcation, the TDP has launched several welfare schemes, including increasing the monthly pension from Rs 200 to Rs 2000. Also, the employees are given 42 per cent fitment,” he pointed out.

Now, the Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, has imposed a financial burden of Rs 3.25 lakh in every family in the State in the past three years, he stated.

The petrol prices are the highest in Andhra Pradesh and various taxes, including professional tax and property tax, are being imposed on the people.

The Anna Canteens launched by the TDP are closed after the YSRCP came to power, and the local body system is totally debilitated. On the one side the State is witnessing total debt burden white on the other variety of taxes are being imposed, he observed.

Sand has become a rare commodity now in the State following which the construction activity has totally come to a standstill while the welfare schemes for SCs are completely withdrawan. Not even a single farmer is happy in the State and the schemes for BCs have been discontinued, he added.

Atrocities against women and attacks on Dalits have been increased in the recent past, the former chief minister said. Liquor and drugs are being snuggled into the State and there is no check on this.

When there is a recommendation to suspend the Jharkhand Chief Minister, Hemant Soren’s Assembly membership for recommending mining contract for his own firm, what action should be taken against Mr Jagan in the Saraswati land issue, he asked. When the Kovvur Urban Bank panel was dismissed by Mr Jagan, the High Court ordered that the same panel be reinstated, he pointed out.

Chandrababu Naidu instructed the Constituency incharges of the TDP to stay in their respective areas at least for 10 days in a month and the constituency observers for eight days in a month. He is of the opinion that the development of the State is possible only if the TDP comes back to power and all the party activists should work towards this goal. There are still 18 more months to go for Assembly elections if held as per schedule but Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy may go for early polls, he felt.

He wanted the party leaders to be careful about the voters lists and party committees even in rural areas be formed. “Be vigilant about the voters verification or our voters will be deleted from the list,” he said.

He suggested the TDP leadersto have their own social media platforms and the party will fight against the false cases being foisted against the TDP activists, he added.

Chandrababu Naidu criticized that the ruling YSRCP is still planning to file cases against him and the TDP has all the evidence about the illegal activities of Jagan Reddy.

Chandrababu Naidu called upon the party leaders to go to the people with the slogan “Quit Jagan save Andhra Pradesh”.

Possibilities of TDP-BJP Re-alliance

1

“This is quite a game, politics. There are no permanent enemies, and no permanent friends, only permanent interests.” – says William Clay. This is a quote which best suits the present politics in both Telugu States – Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, when it comes to the burning topic “BJP-TDP re-alliance”.

The debate on this alliance triggered after the TDP announced unconditional support to the BJP’s Presidential candidate, even before the national party decided the candidate. After the announcement of the name of the candidate as Draupadi Murmu, the TDP invited and met her in Amaravati.

The speculation gained more and more hold, particularly after the TDP President Nara Chandrababu Naidu called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on August 6 and held a discussion on their political interests.

On the other hand, the BJP’s ally Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan also repeatedly said that he would not allow the YSRCP to come into power again in 2024 and for that he would not split the anti-incumbency vote in the State. Indirectly, he was encouraging the BJP and TDP to join hands. In fact, Pawan Kalyan, during a recent press conference confirmed that, “Anything may happen in politics. Till recently, we all thought that Narendra Modi and Chandrababu Naidu would not meet. But, they met. Let us wait and see, what will happen in the future”. He reacted like this when a question came from a journalist on the speculation of TDP-BJP alliance.

What were the key points, which encouraged both TDP and BJP to give a scope for this discussion in the media? In fact, the TDP, which went out of the BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) just before 2019 General Elections, tried to get into the same wagon after the elections. But, at that time, according to the TDP sources, the BJP and Narendra Modi did not pay attention to the feelers sent by the regional party on realliance. Meanwhile, TDP supremo had decided to strengthen the party first and stand on its own resources and strengths. From then onwards, the TDP started to fight against the YSRCP in the State. After three years, the TDP and BJP both were seeing equal opportunities in having the renewed alliance.

The BJP is desperate and very much need for a regional political party support in Telangana Assembly General Elections, to be held in the second half of the next year. It required some base in Andhra Pradesh too. In fact, the BJP does not have even a single elected member from Andhra Pradesh either for Assembly or for Lok Sabha. The alliance with TDP in the past yielded good results for both, TDP and BJP in united Andhra Pradesh as well as in the bifurcated Andhra.

It is worth mentioning here that Nara Chandrababu Naidu observed that he would not comment on the speculation of alliance between TDP and BJP, during an informal interaction with journalists here on Thursday. He further observed that, “We see the national politics in the interest of Andhra Pradesh only. The State has been suffering a lot. Industries were going away from the State, since the YSRCP came to power.” His comments gained more importance. He said that the TDP would come into power in the next general elections and would develop the State.

TDP opposes bulk drug park in Kakinada

1

Even as the ruling YSR Congress is celebrating the grant of a bulk drug park for the State by the Central government, the opposition TDP had raised objections to it. TDP senior leader and former finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu wrote a letter to the Central government protesting against the proposed bulk drug park on the ground that it would pollute the Kakinada district.

The central government had allocated the bulk drug park for the state in the heavy competition. Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have lobbied for the park, while the Centre allocated it to Andhra Pradesh, based on the letter of interests given by the respective states.

The Central government had proposed three bulk drug parks in the country of which, the south park will come up in Andhra Pradesh. The other two parks were given to Maharashtra and Gujarat States respectively.

In Andhra Pradesh, the park will come up in the Kakinada Special Economic Zone between Kotha Perumalla Puram and Kodada villages of Thondangi mandal in Kakinada district. The project would be established in 2,000 acres of land.

The state government said that it would provide opportunities for global investors in the pharmaceutical industry. As the drug manufacturing industries set up their units here, the local people would get employment, the state government said.

However, the TDP leader alleged that the waste released from these drug manufacturing units would pollute the water, air and damage the environment. Yanamala Ramakrishnudu further feared that the park would also cause several health disorders for both people and animals in the area.

The TDP leader wrote a letter to the Central government’s chemicals and fertilisers ministry secretary asking him to withdraw the proposal.

The ruling YSR Congress raised strong objections to Yanamala Ramakrishnudu’s letter and alleged that the TDP was against development of the state.

Naidu has foreseen this pathetic condition of AP much earlier, says Lokesh

1

Former minister and TDP national general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Tuesday said that the TDP national president, Chandrababu Naidu, has foreseen this pathetic condition of the State before the last election itself if the YSRCP comes to power.

Lokesh, who is in Chittoor to visit those TDP activists who are in the district jail, spoke to media persons after having mulakat with them. He said that Chandrababu Naidu has foreseen the condition of the State if a factionist becomes the Chief Minister is coming into reality now.

“We are now witnessing the dangerous condition that the State is passing through,” the TDP general secretary said. The Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy’s, grandfather, Raja Reddy’ Constitution is in force in Andhra Pradesh but not the statute penned by Dr BR Ambedkar, Lokesh commented.

Several senior TDP leaders, including some former ministers, have been arrested in the past three years, he said and mentioned the names of J C Prabhakar Reddy, Narayana and Chintamaneni Prabhakar. False cases have been foisted against 5,000 TDP activists, he added.

“We are not scared of such false cases as fear is not in our dictionary. You can file any number of cases against us,” Lokesh maintained. He made an appeal to the State police to implement the Indian Penal Code (IPC) but did not resort to follow the Jagan Penal Code (JPC).

Because of some elements in the State police, the entire force is getting discredited, he commented. Stating that the TDP is soon coming back to power in the State, he warned such elements of serious action when the party is in place.

Lokesh said that after Jagan Mohan Reddy became the Chief Minister over 2,000 Anna Canteens, which were opened by the then TDP government to provide food to the needy, were shut down. How the people can expect Jagan Mohan Reddy, who does not take care of his own mother and sister, to provide food to them, he maintained.

Though the TDP has again thought of reopening these Anna Canteens, the ruling YSRCP is creating hurdles everywhere, the TDP general secretary said. Even at Mangalagiri too, he said when he restarted the Anna Canteen, the local police arrested 60 innocent persons, he added.

Even during YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s six-year rule Kuppam never witnessed such violent incidents, he said and demanded immediate measures to bring normalcy not only in Kuppam but also in the whole State.

Ambati says Ramoji Rao is TDP president

0

AP Minister for Water Resources, Ambati Rambabu on Tuesday, alleged that Eenadu Group chairman Cherukuri Ramoji Rao is the real president of the TDP. He said that Ramoji Rao had been running the TDP from behind the screen.

Referring to the adverse reports in the media about the Polavaram Project, the Minister alleged that Ramoji Rao had been writing against the Polavaram Project and the State government because the contract was withdrawn from Ramoji Rao’s relatives.

The Minister said that the contract was given by the TDP government on nomination basis. However, after the YSR Congress formed the government in the state, the contract was withdrawn and given to another company on reverse tendering system in open tender. The Eenadu group chairman was upset with the government withdrawing the contract from his relative and hence writing negatively against the project and the government.

The Minister further said that Ramoji Rao had made Chandrababu Naidu a dummy leader and was running even the day-to-today affairs of the TDP. He also alleged that Ramoji Rao was selecting the candidates for the TDP for the next elections.

In a strong urge to defeat the Jagan Mohan Reddy government, Ramoji Rao was organising pro-TDP forces in the state, the Minister said. He said that some media houses in Andhra Pradesh have kept the agenda to defeat the YSR Congress in the next election.

However, Rambabu asserted that people were watching these political conspiracies of the TDP and its media. He also claimed that people who have been receiving the benefits of the government for the past three years would be able to understand these conspiracies and would stand against them.

Ambati Rambabu appealed to the people to defeat these forces that have been trying to destabilise the government through fake news and false campaigns. He also wanted the people to back Jagan Mohan Reddy government which had been working to improve the lives of the poor and neglected sections.

Is BJP leadership softening its stand on TDP?

1

Politics are dynamic and the equations keep changing from time to time to suit their political requirements. So are the relations between the BJP and the TDP in Andhra Pradesh politics.

The BJP leadership is not in favour of restoring alliance with the TDP for it feels betrayal by the TDP in the 2019 general elections. The TDP not only broke the alliance with the BJP, it also aligned with the Congress and united several parties against the BJP.

The BJP leadership, particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, are up in arms against the TDP and its chief Chandrababu Naidu. There were reports that the two leaders are not in favour of restoring ties with the TDP for any reason.

However, as elections are fast approaching, it looks like Narendra Modi and Amit Shah have softened their stand towards the TDP. There is a strong lobbying taking place in the party at the top level with leaders like Sujana Chowdary and Sathyakumar strongly arguing in favour of alliance with the TDP. They are said to be explaining the political necessity for restoring alliance with the TDP to win a considerable number of seats in the state.

The continued persuasion by these leaders seem to have worked and the Prime Minister and the Home Minister seem to have started having a second look on the issue. If the talk in the TDP circles is to be any indication, the BJP would forge alliance with the TDP a few months before the elections.

The TDP leadership had already made a promise and seems to have made up its mind to be prepared for sacrifice. This would mean that the TDP would offer more Lok Sabha seats from the state to the BJP as it is only the MP seats that count for the BJP at the Centre.

A handful of MPs from Andhra Pradesh in its account would certainly entice the leadership to take a relook on the proposal and it is in favour of the BJP, the sources said. It is to be seen how the BJP would handle the issue and convert it in its favour.

Dismissing Dalit constable is inhuman, undemocratic, says ex-minister

0

Dismissing a Dalit constable, Prakash, from service just because he demanded payment of the arrears that are due to him, is inhuman and highly undemocratic, said the former minister and senior TDP leader, Nakka Ananda Babu, here on Tuesday.

Talking to media persons through zoom, the former minister said that Mr Prakash only staged protests demanding payment of his dues. “This reflects the atrocious and evil behaviour of the Chief Minister, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy,” Ananda Babu stated.

Prakash has been removed from service as he is a Dalit, he said adding that the TDP, as the main Opposition party, is strongly condemning it. It is highly inexcusable and the people will teach a fitting lesson to the YSRCP at the right time, the TDP leader said.

Is it wrong to ask for the arrears that are due to the Armed Reserve (AR) constables and openly express the problems that they are facing, Ananda Babu asked. No other State in the country will take such inhuman decisions, he felt.

Jagan Mohan Reddy, who managed to get the votes of the Dalits before last election by making false promises, is showing his true colours now, Ananda Babu said adding that a false case is registered against Prakash that he borrowed money from a woman, Lakshmi, and tried to kill her.

“This is a false case and a baseless allegation only to remove him from service as no woman called Lakshmi filed any such case against the constable,” he maintained. People are aware about the dirty video of the YSRCP MP, Gorantla Madhav, but no action has been initiated against him, he pointed out.

The Dalits in the State are regretting for having voted for the YSRCP, the TDP leader said and pointed out that Dr Sudhakar of Visakhapatnam, was subjected to harassment as he asked for a mask and the ruling party virtually murdered him. The YSRCP leaders misbehaved with Anitharani for questioning them.

There is an immediate need to put an end to the atrocities being committed by the YSRCP leaders, Ananda Babu said and stated that the benefits that were extended to Dalits in the State are being discontinued.

The former minister made it clear that the TDP will fight till justice is done to Prakash and the party will not leave the officials responsible for his dismissal. The TDP is ready to face any eventuality in this fight for justice in order to ensure that such incidents will not recur, he added.

No security for women, Dalits under Jagan rule, says former minister

1

Former minister and senior TDP leader, Peethala Sujatha said here on Monday that the recent National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report clearly indicated that there is no security for women, tribals and Dalits under the YSRCP regime.

“Almost every day atrocities have been committed against women, Dalits and tribals in the past three years,” Sujatha told media persons at TDP headquarters here. The recent NCRB report released on Sunday clearly indicated the Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy’s, Tuglaq rule, she added.

Compared to 2020, in 2021, just in one year, the crime rate on SCs increased by 3.28 per cent while on the STs it increased by 12.81 per cent, she pointed out. Andhra Pradesh is in the seventh place in the country in the crime rate against Dalits and tribals, she stated.

It is really atrocious that Jagan Mohan Reddy, who came to power by making several promises to Dalits, tribals and women, including ensuring their security, totally ignored it after assuming power, Peethala Sujatha maintained. In fact, the YSRCP Government is targeting these sections, she felt.

“The YSRCP MLC, Anathababu, brutally murdered his car driver, Subrahmanyam, who is a Dalit, and door-delivered his body to his family members,” she noted. Another Dalit, who was a doctor in Visakhapatnam, Dr Sudhakar, was subjected to mental.and physical harassment just because he asked for a mask. He ultimately committed suicide unable to bear the harassment, she said.

Another Dalit youth Omkar was killed in Chittoor just because he questioned the high-rise prices of liquor in the Jagan Reddy government, the former minister said.

The safety and security of women under YSRCP rule is under threat as atrocities on women are highest in Andhra Pradesh in the recent past. Murders and atrocities against women have been on the rise in the past three years and majority of the accused in these crimes are YSRCP activists, she stated.

False cases are being registered against the TDP activists for questioning such criminal activities of the YSRCP workers, she said adding that while the State Government is protecting those who are indulging in such illegal activities. Why Jagan Reddy is not opening his mouth despite the increase in crime rate in the State, she asked and demanded that at least now the Chief Minister take necessary measures for the safety of these sections.

YSRCP’s Days Are Numbered: TDP

0

M.S. Rao

The TDP Politburo member, Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, said that the days of the YSRCP were numbered, while addressing a press conference here at party office.

The people of the State were disgusted at the functioning of the YSRCP leaders as the party has taken birth on high corruption and false propaganda, Umamaheswara Rao said. He observed that, the people had chased away the Ministers and the YSRCP MLAs during the ‘Gadapa Gadapaku’ (door-to-door) programme of YSRCP in the State.

“The was a mockery on democracy, ever since the YSRCP came to power in the State. The police played the role of a spectator when the Chief Minister, Jagan Reddy, his Cabinet colleague, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Bharath, MLC and Vidyasagar Rao, Kuppam Marketing Committee chairman, blatantly murdered the democratic values,” Bonda Uma alleged.

The YSRCP goondas attacked the TDP activists during the recent visit of Nara Chandrababu Naidu, TDP president to Kuppam. The ruling party resorted to physical attacks on TDP activists and damaged the Anna Canteen besides setting on fire the TDP banners, he said.
