Gorantla throws challenge to Chandrababu Naidu

1

Hindupur YSR Congress MP, Gorantla Madhav, who is in the news for his alleged nude video call with a woman, threw a challenge to former chief minister and Leader of Opposition, N Chandrababu Naidu, on Friday. While reiterating his stand that the alleged nude video was edited and morphed, the MP asked Chandrababu Naidu to take oath on the Note for Vote case.

Madhav alleged that the TDP was targeting him with morphed and fake videos and morphed forensic reports. He also accused the TDP leaders of targeting a BC MP for political gains. He said that the TDP leaders were behind the edited video and the edited forensic certificate.

He also alleged that Chandrababu Naidu had run away from Hyderabad after being caught while offering bribe to an MLA in Telangana MLC elections. He dared Chandrababu Naidu to take oath at Sri Kanipakam Vinayaka temple and say whether the voice in the audio clip was his and the money offered in the video clip belonged to him.

The MP said that he would resign his membership in Parliament if Chandrababu Naidu testified to these audio and video clips at the Kanipakam temple. He also asked the TDP leaders to send those audio and video clips to a forensic laboratory in the US and make the reports public.

He also wondered why the media did not hold debates on those audio and video clips of Chandrababu Naidu. He also questioned the media for not holding debates on Nandamuri Balakrishna’s statement that women are to be kissed or made pregnant.

He asked the media and the TDP to accept his challenge before making any further allegations against him connecting him with the fake and morphed video.

Chandrababu’s call for govts to work with vision

0

Former chief minister and TDP president, N Chandrababu Naidu, on Monday called for inculcating national spirit among all.

Addressing a huge gathering after unfurling the tricolour, Chandrababu Naidu felt that India is far ahead of other countries in traditional culture even 400 years ago. The country had the best economic growth even those days, he said, adding that leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru, PV Narasimha Rao, Atal Behari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi, India is marching far ahead of other nations.

With the reforms introduced by Narasimha Rao, India is now competing with the whole world, Naidu stated.

Green revolution has totally changed the national objective and India now transformed into a nation that supplies vaccine for covid for the whole world, the TDP president said. The TDP is always a part of the reforms that are being introduced as the party, though launched as a regional outfit, always worked for the interest of the whole nation, he maintained.

Recalling that the TDP had formulated the Vision-2020 and strove hard to reach its goals for the State, Chandrababu Naidu said the party’s sole aim is to work for the welfare of the common man. The TDP had played a crucial role in the telecom reforms, open sky policy and establishing green-field airports in the country.

Naidu felt an immediate need for all the ruling dispensations to formulate a strategy for the next 25 years and move with a vision to face the challenges. He wanted a value-based society that moves ahead to remove financial imbalances.

Schemes should be formulated for women empowerment, Naidu said adding that inter-linking of rivers should be taken up on a priority basis. Stating that the TDP has already taken up inter-linking of the Godavari with the Krishna river, he said that this is necessary for a drought-free nation.

A corrupt-free society is the need of the hour, he said and wanted technology to be used to achieve this. He wanted the country to devise policies for the coming 25 years for India to stand atop the whole world as “we have all the needed facilities and qualifications. Everyone should come forward to work with the ruling dispensations to achieve this,” Chandrababu Naidu added.

The TDP chief stayed back all through the programme from the beginning to the end and was seen interacting with his party leaders, besides some of the invitees.

This was the first At Home programme hosted by the Governor after Covid 19 and the Raj Bhavan restricted the number of visitors, keeping in view the Covid 19 impact.

Agency areas development only during TDP regime, says Naidu

0

The former chief minister and TDP national president, N Chandrababu Naidu, said here on Tuesday that the development took place in agency areas only during the TDP regime.

Greeting all the tribals on the occasion of Adivasi Divas, Chandrababu Naidu said that prominent days like Adivasi Divas are celebrated to protect the rights of the tribals, to instill confidence among them and to bring awareness among the community.

Recalling that when the TDP was in power, Naidu said that the party organised several programmes and World Tribal Day was celebrated at Araku by mobilising all sections of the tribal community to bring awareness among them. Schools were set up in the agency belts only when NT Rama Rao was the chief minister and a 14-point plan was brought in for the overall progress of the community, Naidu said.

When the TDP government introduced gurukulams in the tribal areas, Jagan Mohan Reddy as the Chief Minister shut down all the institutions, the TDP national president said. The TDP government fulfilled the promise of upgrading the tribal tandas having a population of 500 and above as panchayats, he stated.

Naidu promised to upgrade any remaining such tandas into panchayats once the TDP comes back to power. Irrigation water was supplied to tandas by building check-dams and Rs 50,000 each was sanctioned to tribal married women under Giri Putrika Kalyanam scheme. Jagan Mohan Reddy who promised Rs 1 lakh each for such women failed to extend even the Rs 50,000 that the TDP has given, he said.

The TDP has the credit of setting up mobile towers with an expenditure of Rs 90 cr to provide the facility of using hand phones in the tribal belts, Naidu said adding that when the TDP has given free power supply to SCs and STs, now the Jagan Reddy Government is trying to deprive them of the facility.

During the present YSRCP rule the poor are not getting any facility, including free education, the TDP national president said and stated that Jagan Mohan Reddy is such a great leader who inundated the Polavaram submerged areas into the Godavari river. Once the TDP comes back to power, every individual who is the displaced of the Polavaram will be rescued, Naidu promised.

Assuring the tribals that the TDP will always be with the community, the former chief minister felt the need for the party to come back to power for the better future of the youth and for rebuilding the State.

Chandrababu Naidu calls on President Murmu

1

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president and former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday called on President, Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

This was Naidu’s first meeting with Murmu after she was elected as the President last month. The TDP had extended its support to her.

Chandrababu Naidu was in Delhi to attend the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav meeting chaired by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

After meeting Murmu, the TDP chief said it was a courtesy call to congratulate her on her victory as the President of India. He said that the TDP extended unconditional support to her and all the party MPs and MLAs voted in her favour.

Murmu had visited Amaravati on July 12 as part of her election campaign. The TDP had organised an interaction with the party MPs, MLAs and MLCs. Speaking on this occasion, Chandrababu Naidu had heaped praise on Murmu and termed her life as exceptional.

She would be an inspiration to the downtrodden sections of society for leading a simple life, Naidu felt.

After meeting Murmu on Saturday, Naidu attended the meeting on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav held at Rashtrapati Bhavan chaired by APrime Minister Modi.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Central government to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.

The Mahotsav commenced on March 12 last year to mark the 75-week countdown to the 75th anniversary of independence and will end on August 15, 2023.

This is the first time Chandrababu Naidu was invited by the Centre for an official meeting in the national capital since the TDP lost power in Andhra Pradesh in 2019.

The TDP had pulled out of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in 2018, protesting the Centre’s refusal to grant Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh.

Naidu-led party had joined hands with the Congress party for 2019 elections but it lost the power to YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in Andhra Pradesh.

In recent times, Naidu dropped hints that he is ready to once again ally with the BJP. The saffron party’s state leadership, however, remained cold to the proposal.

Modi talks to Naidu, TDP pins hopes on alliance

1

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a brief chat with TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu at a meeting in Delhi on Saturday. The two leaders met at the national level meeting organised to celebrate Azaadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav in the country marking 75 years of Independence.

Chandrababu Naidu was invited by the Union government to attend the meeting which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It was for the first time in the last five years that the two leaders spoke to each other.

After the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi walked down to Chandrababu Naidu and took him aside. They spoke for about five minutes in a pleasant situation.

The TDP broke alliance with the BJP in 2018 on the special category status demand. After breaking the alliance, Chandrababu Naidu joined hands with the Congress leaders to defeat the BJP in the 2019 elections. He toured in several states campaigning against the BJP.

However, the 2019 results showed different prospects for the BJP and the TDP. The TDP lost power in Andhra Pradesh, while the BJP retained power with greater majority. Since then, Chandrababu Naidu never took the opportunity to speak to the BJP leaders.

Back in Andhra Pradesh, there is a strong demand from the TDP ranks for alliance with the BJP and Jana Sena for the 2024 elections. While Jana Sena is ready for the alliance, the BJP had been saying that doors were closed for the TDP.

In politics, there will be no permanent friends and enemies. Likewise, the invitation to Chandrababu Naidu for the meeting and Modi interacting with Naidu have given scope for the TDP ranks to heave a sigh of relief. They are confident that Chandrababu Naidu would break the silence and restore alliance with the BJP in the next elections.

It is to be seen what is in store and whether the BJP would accept the alliance with the TDP or not.

Kesineni refuses to give flower bouquet to Naidu

1

Vijayawada TDP MP Kesineni Srinivas alias Nani is moving away from the TDP, if one takes the recent developments into account. He is angry with the party leadership for promoting his brother Kesineni Sivanath without his consent.

The MP alleges that both Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh were promoting Sivanath in Vijayawada politics. In fact, Sivanath had started his direct entry into active politics recently by meeting some TDP leaders in Vijayawada.

In this background, Kesineni Nani is moving away from the TDP and he is reluctantly participating in the party activities. This was evident when TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu visited New Delhi on Saturday. The party MPs have received Chandrababu Naidu at the Delhi airport.

Party MPs, Galla Jayadev, Kesineni Srinivas, Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, and Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar, were present at the Delhi airport when Naidu visited the national capital, after a gap of four years.

TDP Parliamentary Party leader Galla Jayadev had offered a shawl to Naidu welcoming him at the airport. He had tried to pass on the flower bouquet to Kesineni Nani asking him to give it to the party chief.

It appeared that Kesineni Nani had refused to accept the flower bouquet and give it to Chandrababu Naidu. When Galla insisted, Kesineni Nani got angry and pushed the bouquet much to the discomfort of Chandrababu Naidu and other MPs.

It was then that Galla Jayadev offered the bouquet to Chandrababu Naidu and followed him to Rashtrapathi Bhavan, where they greeted new President Droupadi Murmu on her election.

Jagan, Naidu to attend meeting with Modi on Aug 6

0

Telugu Desam Party supremo and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu seems to be compromising with the situation these days. He revolted against Prime Minister Narendra Modi before the 2019 general elections and broke the alliance. He rallied the non-BJP wings at the national level and had even tied-up with the Congress.

But, after the TDP’s debacle in the elections, Chandrababu Naidu is said to be moving closer to the BJP leadership. He had recently extended support to the BJP-led NDA candidate in the Presidential election. He is said to be lobbying with the BJP top leadership to restore ties with the party for the 2024 general elections.

He is now getting ready to face Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is all set to share a meeting to be chaired by the Prime Minister in Delhi on August 6. The prime minister had convened a meeting to celebrate the Azadi Ka Amruth meeting commemorating the 75 years of Independence. The Central government had invited Chandrababu Naidu from Andhra Pradesh to attend the meeting.

As chief minister, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy too will be attending the meeting. He is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the day and ask for release of funds for the Polavaram Project, including the rehabilitation and resettlement package.

Both Chandrababu Naidu and Jagan Mohan Reddy don’t see eye to eye. The political differences between the two leaders have gone even personal and they hate each other to the core. As Chandrababu Naidu announced the boycott of the Assembly, they have not seen eye to eye in the last one year.

The two leaders are scheduled to attend the meeting and it is to be seen how Chandrababu Naidu faces Narendra Modi chairing the meeting and Jagan Mohan Reddy attending the meeting.

Naidu gets NDA govt invite, to visit Delhi on Aug 6

0

Former chief minister and TDP supremo, N Chandrababu Naidu had finally received an invitation from the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre. He was invited to attend a meeting of Azadi Ka Amrut.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi would chair a national level meeting on the celebrations of the 75 years of Independence from August 15, 2022 to August 15, 2023. The celebrations would be held across the country involving all state governments and union territories.

The Central government had decided to involve all political parties in the events to be held all through the year. The celebrations would include remembering and honouring freedom fighters and recapping the freedom movement.

This was the first invitation for Chandrababu Naidu from the BJP-led NDA government after he broke alliance with the BJP ahead of the 2019 general elections. He was not invited for the Alluri Sitarama Raju 125th birth anniversary held at Bhimavaram on July 4.

Naidu was also not invited or involved in the just-concluded Presidential election, where the TDP chief had offered his party’s support to the NDA candidate, Droupadi Murmu. He had successfully lobbied with the Central leadership of the BJP in getting Murmu to the TDP meeting when she visited Andhra Pradesh on July 14.

Sources say that Chandrababu Naidu is working hard to convince the BJP leadership for alliance in the 2024 general elections. The BJP local leaders are in favour of the alliance as they expect a couple of seats in the alliance. Even the Jana Sena is in favour of an alliance between the TDP and the BJP.

However, the national leadership of the BJP is not ready to forge an alliance with Chandrababu Naidu. Leaders like Narendra Modi and Amit Shah are opposing tie-up with the TDP and called Chandrababu Naidu as the most undependable ally.

It is now to be seen whether Chandrababu Naidu would make use of this meeting to restore ties with the BJP or not.

AP Minister slams Chandrababu Naidu

1

AP’s IT and Industries Minister Gudivada Amarnath has slammed Opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu over misleading propaganda on rescue operations made by the government during the recent floods to Godavari river.

The minister said that Chandrababu Naidu had done nothing for the Hud-Hud victims, when he was the chief minister, except hyped publicity and empty promises. He flayed him for releasing only a GO, instead of helping the people. He reminded that Naidu had never provided any sort of immediate relief during such calamities. He further added that the latter had distributed stale lemon rice (pulihora) and 10kg rice to the victims.

He dared Chandrababu Naidu to answer about the collected funds during the cyclone, whether it reached the government treasury or NTR Trust. Amarnath said that the opposition leader has been busy criticizing the government instead of helping the people out there. He asserted that the YSRC government had put its best foot forward to reach out to the victims.

The Minister slammed the opposition for misleading the people by fabricating the facts on State borrowings, and clarified that the current government had only borrowed Rs 1.15 lakh crore, which is much less than during TDP rule. He said that Naidu has been falsely alleging that the government had borrowed over Rs 8 lakh crore, while in reality as per CAG report, the debt is only of Rs 1.15 lakh.

He stated that over Rs 1.65 lakh crore was spent in the last three years towards public welfare. He said that YSRCP rule is of DBT governance, which implements every scheme in a transparent manner, while the TDP government had only focussed on DPT (Dochukovadam, Panchukovadam, Thinadam).

Naidu asks YCP MPs to quit to get Polavaram funds

1

Former chief minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu dared the ruling YSR Congress MPs to quit their posts to get funds for the Polavaram Project. He asked the YCP MPs whether they are ready to quit in the interests of the Polavaram Project displaced families.

The TDP chief is on his second day tour in the flood-hit areas of the Godavari river in the merged mandals. He addressed the flood victims at Yetapaka mandal headquarters where he sympathised with the displaced families. He blamed Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy for not visiting the flood-affected areas here. “As a responsible leader I personally came here to have first-hand knowledge,” the TDP supremo observed.

“When the TDP was in power we created the infrastructure to monitor even the landslides. Now, there is no system even to warn against the floods,” Naidu said and asked what Jagan Mohan Reddy was doing in the Tadepalle palace when the people were suffering in the flood-affected areas.

The TDP national president also said that the Chief Minister expressed his inability to complete the Polavaram project and could not pay the compensation to the displaced. “How can he claim that his party will win all the 175 Assembly seats in the coming polls? People will only give him negative marks”, he asked.

He called upon the people that they should elect their leaders after knowing their track record. “They are now witnessing what will happen if leaders with criminal backgrounds are elected,” he stated. He asked as to why Jagan Mohan Reddy failed to pay Rs 10 lakh each to the Polavaram displaced families. He even promised to pay an additional Rs 5 lakh to each family, Naidu pointed out and asked whether that amount has been paid,

Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sole aim is to come out safely from his cases and he only made a formal visit to the flood-hit areas, the TDP supremo felt and assured the flood victims that justice will be done to the affected once the TDP comes back to power.

Naidu tours in flood hit mandals of Bhadrachalam

0

TDP chief and leader of opposition N Chandrababu Naidu started his tour in the seven mandals of Bhadrachalam area along Godavari river on Thursday. Chandrababu Naidu started his tour from Vijayawada and reached Velairupadu mandal in the morning.

The TDP rank and file received him with much fanfare all along the route starting from Gollapudi on the outskirts of Vijayawada. The TDP leaders and workers led by former minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao welcomed Chandrababu Naidu at Mylavaram in NTR district.

Naidu reached the area passing through Sathupalli and Aswaraopet in Telangana. Chandrababu Naidu met the flood victims of Velairpadu mandal where he interacted with the victims. Some of the flood victims told the TDP chief that the government had completely ignored them during the floods.

They also complained to the TDP chief that they were not given the flood relief support by the government. The local YSR Congress leaders were guiding the official in the distribution of the flood relief grocery, they said.

“The TDP families are not given the flood relief help. The YSR Congress leaders here are forcing the officials not to give any support for the TDP families,” the locals said. They requested Chandrababu Naidu to raise the issue and ensure that they also get the help from the government.

The TDP chief would stay in the night at Bhadrachalam and resume his tour of the flood hit mandals on Friday. He would tour Etapaka and Chinthuru mandals.

Mohan Babu springs a surprise, meets Chandrababu

1

Noted film actor and producer, Dr M Mohan Babu, met TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

Mohan Babu, who had been keeping himself away from active politics and also from the TDP for several years, sprang a surprise by meeting Chandrababu Naidu at the latter’s residence. The meeting lasted for more than an hour and it was dominated by Andhra Pradesh politics, where the TDP chief is doing everything to make a comeback in the 2024 elections.

The actor was associated with the TDP from its beginning and Mohan Babu was closely associated with late N T Rama Rao, till the latter’s death. After NTR’s death, Mohan Babu moved away from active politics and is developing his own educational institution in Tirupati district.

In the 2019 general election, Mohan Babu supported YSR Congress and his one-day protest against the non-payment of the fee reimbursement arrears by the TDP government helped the YSR Congress to some extent. But, after the elections, he never met Jagan Mohan Reddy in the last three years.

Recently, Mohan Babu started giving open statements against the Jagan Mohan Reddy government but did not give any indication that he would return to the TDP. He had given enough indications that he would join the BJP as he is close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

However, his meeting with Chandrababu Naidu came as a surprise to everyone. Sources say that Mohan Babu had offered to work for the TDP in the 2024 elections. It is to be seen how the actor-turned-politician would help the TDP to come back to power in the next elections.

Naidu writes to Chief Secretary on flood relief

0

TDP chief and leader of opposition N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday wrote a letter to AP chief secretary Dr Sameer Sharma asking him to provide relief work to the Godavari flood victims. Naidu had toured the flood-hit districts for two days last week and interacted with the victims.

Chandrababu Naidu, while explaining the situation in the inundated habitations along the river, wanted the government to be liberal in helping the victims, who have lost their belongings and food in the floods.

He found fault with the government for not taking precautionary measures to avoid inundation and loss of properties. He said that the Central Water Commission had raised an alarm about the floods much in advance.

He said even after the floods inundated the habitations, the government had failed to provide relief and rehabilitation to the victims. He further said that the villages that were merged with the state after bifurcation were completely ignored.

The TDP chief said that the floods have caused havoc in over 50 mandals spread over six districts along the river. He wanted the chief secretary to send the officials to every village along the river and make a real assessment of the loss and damage.

He further said that paddy, banana, papaya, and vegetables were lost in several acres of lands all along the river and wanted the government to provide compensation to these victims.

Chandrababu Naidu proposed payment of Rs 10,000 to each of the inundated family, and Rs 50,000 to the damaged house. He wanted the government to pay Rs 25 lakh to the deceased families and Rs 45,000 to every animal that died in the floods.

Jagan tried to kill Raghuram Krishnam Raju, says Naidu

0

TDP chief and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday alleged that chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had tried to assassinate Narsapuram MP K Raghurama Krishnam Raju. The TDP chief said that Jagan Mohan Reddy was taking political vengeance against his opponents and critics.

Chandrababu Naidu completed his two-day tour in the flood-hit areas along the Godavari river. He interacted with the people and promised to stand by them in their hour of crisis. He said that Jagan Mohan Reddy had no love for people and their lives.

He wondered how the chief minister was enjoying the air-conditioned rooms in Tadepalli when thousands of people were rendered homeless. He said that the chief minister was busy with vendetta politics.

He accused Jagan Mohan Reddy of filing false cases against his critics and sending them to jail. He alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy had planned to eliminate Raghurama Krishnam Raju, who had been exposing the misdeeds of Jagan Mohan Reddy. He also said that the chief minister planned to kill the Narasapuram MP and shift the blame on others.

However, the MP acted wisely and escaped from the trap, the TDP chief said. He also said that Jagan Mohan Reddy had killed former minister Y S Vivekananda Reddy and shifted the blame on him. But the facts are slowly coming out, he added.

The TDP chief cautioned the state police against dancing to the tunes of Jagan Mohan Reddy and his YSR Congress Party leaders. He regretted that some police officials were working like the ruling party activists. He said he would not leave any official who misused the power during the last three years.

Chandrababu Naidu claimed that people are slowly realising the mistake of voting Jagan in the 2019 elections. The people are now getting ready to send him to Pulivendula and elect the TDP government in the 2024 elections.

He appealed to the people to wait for him to do justice for them as this government would not do anything good for the people.

People of Andhra Pradesh have more patience than Sri Lankans: Naidu

0

Andhra Pradesh’s former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Thursday that the people of the state have more patience than people of Sri Lanka.

Drawing a parallel between the situation of Andhra Pradesh and the island nation, he said since the people of the state have more patience, they have not revolted against Jagan Mohan Reddy government.

Addressing people during his visit to flood-affected areas in West Godavari district, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President pointed out that Andhra Pradesh has the highest inflation rate in the country. He said that Andhra Pradesh also has the highest outstanding public debts among all the states in the country.

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government has burdened the common man with its wrong policies, he alleged.

The TDP expressed serious concern over the deeper financial crisis in Andhra Pradesh, which is pushing the state into the worst economic emergency.

The party has been saying for the past four months that the state is following the path of Sri Lanka.

Earlier, TDP MLA and Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee Payyavula Kesav said that the state government has borrowed funds four times more than Sri Lanka and challenged the Jagan Mohan Reddy government whether it is ready for an open and special audit.

The Centre has red-flagged ‘disturbing trends’ in the financial crisis of 10 states, including Andhra Pradesh and cited the economic crunch in Sri Lanka, Kesav said adding that high off-budget borrowings, escrowing of future revenue and loans secured against public assets are the primary reasons for this disastrous situation.

An in-depth study needs to be done on the financial situation as Andhra Pradesh is in the most perilous situation, he added. Pointing out that the Reserve Bank of India has prepared the risk analysis and the Union Finance Ministry has made a presentation on this in which Andhra Pradesh is either on top or in second place in all the index, Payyavula said that this risk analysis is made strictly on the guidelines of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

“This is only a tip of the iceberg,” the TDP leader said and expressed serious concern that a special financial situation is prevailing in the State. Accounts for Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 crore are not made public yet and if this too comes out, then one can easily imagine the situation, he felt. The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) should bring the facts to light and the qualifying certificate issued to the state by the CAG is unique as no other state till now got such certificate, he added.

If the state faces a situation like Sri Lanka, leaders may run away from the state but the common man is the worst-hit as he will not find a place to go. “We have earlier seen persons like Vijay Malya and (former Sri Lankan President) Gotabaya (Rajapaksa) running away leaving the people in the lurch,” he said.

SC order is a slap on Jagan Govt, says Naidu

0

The Supreme Court once again pulled up the Jagan Mohan Reddy government for diverting the Rs 1,100 cr State Disaster Response Fund, meant for fighting the Covid pandemic.

The directions given by the apex court that the diverted funds be deposited immediately with the SDRF account is nothing but a slap on the face of the State Government, said TDP president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu here on Monday.

The Jagan Mohan Reddy Government is not only committing blunders but also resorting to serious foul-play to cover up these mistakes, Naidu said. Diverting the funds meant for the assistance of even the Covid-affected is a classic example of the inhuman nature of the Jagan Mohan Reddy regime, he stated.

When calamities like floods or Covid take place, instead of coming to the rescue of the affected, the State Government is diverting the funds meant for their rescue operation and this is nothing but doing injustice to them, he maintained.

The State government should implement the guidelines given by the Supreme Court that if anyone complains that he or she did not receive the Covid compensation, it should be resolved within four weeks, he said, stating that the ruling party should not escape under some pretext or the other.

At least now, the State Government should come to the rescue of the Covid-affected families and save them from the troubles that they are facing, Chandrababu Naidu added.

Naidu gives direction to MPs ahead of Parliament session

0

TDP supremo and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu held a meeting with the party MPs ahead of the impending Parliament Session. The session is scheduled to begin on July 18 with the members participating in the Presidential election.

From July 19, the session is likely to be held till August 12, according to the schedule released by the Parliament secretariat on Friday. Besides the presidential election, the session would also thank President Ram Nath Kovind and give farewell to vice-president and Rajya Sabha chairman, M Venkaiah Naidu.

Keeping these issues in consideration, Chandrababu Naidu gave direction to his party MPs to follow in the session. The TDP has three members in Lok Sabha and one in Rajya Sabha. All the MPs, Galla Jayadev, Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) and K Rammohan Naidu, all three from Lok Sabha and Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar from Rajya Sabha were present at the meeting with Chandrababu Naidu.

Party AP unit president and former minister K Atchannaidu was also present during the deliberations. Sources say that Chandrababu Naidu had reportedly asked his party MPs to use their contacts with the senior BJP leaders in Delhi to restore alliance between the two parties for the 2024 elections.

Chandrababu Naidu is understood to have made a special request to Kesineni Nani to use all his contacts with the BJP leaders to convince them for alliance. It may be noted that the BJP leadership had included the TDP meeting in Presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu’s visit to the state on July 12.

Though Rajya Sabha member Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar tried his best to fix the meeting through Union Minister Kishan Reddy, it did not work for them. It was only after Kesineni’s request to Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Rajnath Singh and others, the BJP leadership had finally agreed to include TDP’s meeting in Vijayawada with Murmu.

It is for this reason Chandrababu Naidu is understood to have requested Kesineni Nani to convince the BJP leaders for alliance during this session. He also told them to raise issues concerning Andhra Pradesh in the both houses during the session.

Naidu gets Murmu to his party meeting

1

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, who played a key role in the national politics till a decade ago, could finally succeed in getting NDA presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu to attend the party meeting organised in her support.

The TDP had extended its support to the NDA candidate only on Monday, after Murmu’s schedule was finalised. As per the original schedule, Murmu would meet Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party MLAS and MPs in the afternoon and leave for Hyderabad in the evening.

She was originally scheduled to meet BJP MLAs and MPs in Hyderabad in the evening and reach Delhi for the night. However, Chandrababu Naidu wanted Murmu to meet the TDP MPs and MLAs, though a small number in the electoral college.

But meeting the candidate on her visit to the state was an important development and a politically well-designed strategy for Chandrababu Naidu. Since the announcement of his party’s support and the finalisation of her schedule in Vijayawada, the TDP chief pulled every string to get his plan worked.

Succumbing to the pressures, the BJP national leadership had agreed to include TDP meeting in Murmu’s schedule in Vijayawada hours before she left Delhi on Tuesday. On getting confirmation, Chandrababu Naidu flew in a chartered flight from Hyderabad to Vijayawada.

The party organised the meeting in a star hotel and local MP Kesineni Nani, who has some connections in the BJP conducted the show. Finally, BJP Minister Kishan Reddy, BJP AP unit president Somu Veerraju have shared the dais with Chandrababu Naidu, almost after eight years!
