Naidu doing funeral politics on Covid: Perni

0

As the Covid problem has intensified, the blame game has begun between the ruling YCP and the Opposition TDP. The rival leaders are blaming the Government for the rising virus cases, lack of oxygen at hospitals and increasing fatalities. Chandrababu Naidu has called the deaths at the hospitals as ‘Government murders’ and held the ruling YCP responsible for the growing helplessness in the system.

In a sharp reaction, Minister Perni Nani has asked why the TDP chief suddenly started blaming the Government while he should be creating awareness on the virus problem. In the second wave, the Coronavirus is having a much greater impact on the lungs than ever before.

Under such circumstances, there needs to be a greater caution among everybody. Perni Nani deplored that instead of creating confidence, Mr. Naidu was trying to spread panic. The TDP chief was taking pleasure in doing the funeral politics at a time when the general public were suffering greatly.

Scarcity of oxygen and beds was not a problem unique to AP. The Minister said that their Government was doing everything possible to increase facilities to fight Covid.

Chandrababu Naidu demands immediate release of arrested TDP leader

1

elugu Desam Party (TDP) Supremo and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday demanded the immediate and unconditional release of party leader and former minister Dhulipalla Narendra Kumar.

“There was zero development in the last two years but suppression of the opposition leaders and former ministers was going on unabated,” alleged Naidu.

He condemned Kumar’s arrest and said that the latter was picked up from his home at Chintalapudi village in Guntur district without any prior notice.

Naidu termed the arrest as ‘illegal’ and part of a larger conspiracy to destroy ‘Sangam Dairy’ for which Kumar rendered valuable services as its Chairman.

“It was clear now that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy-led state government was hell-bent on handing over ‘Sangam Dairy’ to the Amul company. The local dairies in Andhra Pradesh were being crippled deliberately in order to benefit the Gujarat-based company,” alleged Naidu.

The former CM alleged that there has been a systematic attack on all state companies and dairies ever since Jagan Mohan Reddy became the Chief Minister in 2019.

“The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) government had some secret deals with an outside dairy like Amul in order to damage the long established dairies in the state. Local farmers were shareholders in the ‘Sangam Dairy’ but the current state government was not hesitating to crush it,” he said.

Naidu alleged that the arrests of TDP leaders was a part of the YSRCP government’s tactics to divert the attention of people from the massive corruption.

“K. Atchannaidu and Kollu Ravindra were wrongfully arrested in the past. Devineni Umamaheswara Rao was also targeted in the name of false CID cases,” he alleged.

According to Naidu, the state government should set aside its political agenda and protect the Sangam Dairy and the thousands of farmers dependent on it.

TDP’s National General Secretary and the party’s second-in-command, Nara Lokesh, also slammed the YSRCP government for allegedly targeting and harassing TDP leaders, rather than focusing resources on saving the people from the second Covid-19 wave.

“The current Andhra Chief Minister was deriving diabolical pleasure at the expense of the opposition leaders and coronavirus victims. The Dhulipalla family was known for its unfailing services to the local people in Guntur district,” claimed Lokesh.

He alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy’s family is notorious for hoarding illegal wealth and asserted that Dhulipalla Narendra Kumar is being targeted just because he dared to expose the utter inefficiency of the state government.

“The former Minister has uncovered the false drama of YSRCP leaders whose baseless insider trading charges were revealed through a sting operation. The YSRCP failed to realise that Dhulipalla holds the record of winning as an MLA consecutively for five times,” said Lokesh.

He spoke to Kumar’s wife Jyothirmayi, who narrated the whole incident to Lokesh.

She alleged that nearly 100 policemen swooped on their home and took away her husband and warned that she would not sit quietly if Kumar contracts coronavirus.

Andhra CM, Guv extend birthday wishes to Chandrababu Naidu

0

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan on Tuesday extended birthday greetings to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu.

“Birthday greetings to Chandrababu Naidu. I wish good health and a happy life to you by God’s blessings,” said Reddy.

Similarly, Harichandan extended his birthday wishes to the former Chief Minister.

“Heartiest felicitations and warm birthday greetings to Naidu,” he said.

The Governor said that he prayed to Lord Jagannadh and Lord Balaji to bless Naidu with a healthy and long life in the service of people.

Wishes poured in from all quarters for the southern state’s opposition leader who served as the Chief Minister for 14 years, the longest serving Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Naidu was born on April 20 in 1950 at Naravaripalli in Chittoor district.

Naidu plea for ‘work from home’ for employees

1

In the past one week, over four employees of the AP Secretariat have died due to Coronavirus infection. Many more employees are getting infected and taking home isolation. The employees associations have already demanded preventive measures and online working but the Government has not taken a decision yet. Amid this, former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has made an open appeal to CM Jagan Reddy to allow ‘work from home’ for the Government staff.

The situation in the Secretariat turned very emotional after a man and wife both lost their lives in a matter of days. There is rising criticism that the YCP Government is not taking advance measures for saving the lives of the people from the threatening epidemic. There should be a contingency plan to save lives.

Mr. Naidu asked why the Chief Minister was pressuring the employees to come to office when he himself was not coming out of his Tadepalli residence. It is high time the Government should provide vaccination to all the permanent, outsourcing and contract employees urgently.

The employees, who are getting infected, are losing their lives because of lack of the required treatment. The Government should arrange for the best available medicare to them.

Naidu, Chinta, Ratna chorus for repoll in Tirupati

5

By afternoon, it was all clear that the ruling YSRCP has got an undeniable upperhand in the Tirupati by-election. In the first two to three hours itself, thousands of outsiders came out on the roads and formed lines in front of the polling stations. It was apparently too late by the time the leaders of the TDP, the BJP and the Congress woke up to the reality. Left with no choice, the Opposition leaders began demanding repoll.

BJP nominee and retired IAS officer Ratna Prabha even staged a dharna in front of the police station. She demanded cancellation of today’s by-election since a large number of fake voters came and voted for the ruling YCP candidate. TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and Congress AP chief Sailajanath have also made similar demands. But BJP AP chief Veerraju has not made any comment so far while his party local leaders made some noise on this front. Ever since Pawan Kalyan was down with the virus, the Jana Sena leaders almost fell silent on the bypoll.

Some Opposition leaders were going on record that it would be no wonder if the YCP nominee gets more than 3 lakh majority going by today’s violations. They say that there were hundreds of cases in Tirupati alone where the genuine voters found out at the polling booths that their votes were already cast.

Naidu-YCP plans to attract liquor lovers votes

0

It is near impossible to manage the polling day without distributing liquor to some voters. This is why the rival leaders are giving so much focus to the liquor issue in the present Tirupati bypoll campaign. Especially TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is making a repeated mention of how high rates are destroying the families of liquor lovers in AP. The poor people are also suffering on account of unhealthy and cheap liquor brands being supplied in the State right now.

Naidu’s plan is obviously to attract the liquor lovers’ vote bank. On their part, the ruling YCP leaders are coming out with their unique solution to humour drunkards. They know pretty well how much anti-YCP feeling is going on among the liquor lovers in the Tirupati parliamentary segment. But the good point is that the memory of the drunkards is very short and they can easily be influenced if they are given free liquor in the last few days of the polling day.

Now, the TDP’s only worry is that the YCP leaders are changing their strategy this time. They are not going to give AP liquor to the voters. The YCP leaders are trying to bring illegal liquor from Tamil Nadu in a big way. This will be supplied free of cost to the voters prior to the polling day.

As a final appeal, the TDP leaders are cautioning that if the voters fall victim to Tamil Nadu liquor, then nobody can save them from the YCP regime.

Stone pelting in Naidu’s Tirupati campaigning, Naidu sits on flash dharna

Stones were pelted by unknown persons at TDP chief and former AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday (today) while he was addressing a public meeting in Tirupathi to campaign for TDP candidate Panabaka Laxmi for the upcoming Tirupati Lok Sabha bypoll on April 17.

This incident created a flutter in the meeting.

Angry TDP activists raised “Jagan down down” slogans to protest the attack on their leaders. They alleged that YSRCP activists attacked Naidu.

Chandrababu also took this incident very seriously and resorted to a flash dharna at the venue.

He sat on the road demanding action against the culprits.

Though police tried hard to convince Naidu to withdraw his protest, he refused to relent.

TDP leaders and cadre also sat on the road along with Naidu in protest.

Naidu said if police fail to give protection to him who is covered under Z-plus security cover, how could they give protection to common people.

Naidu said under Jagan’s rule rowdyism is flourishing in Andhra Pradesh and urged voters to defeat YSRCP in Tirupati to end rowdy rule in the state.

YCP targets Naidu-Pawan on Special Status

2

The YCP election campaign has slowed down a bit ever since Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy cancelled his April 14 public meeting in Tirupati. The local leaders, MLAs and Ministers are campaigning locally. But their campaign is not matching with that being carried out by Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh themselves. The Sakshi media is doing its bit to attack the Opposition with its stinging articles everyday.

The latest attack by the YCP and the Sakshi media on the TDP is regarding the so called ‘secret deals’ between the TDP and the Jana Sena. The ruling party is asserting that Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan are not criticising each other in the present election campaign. They owed an explanation to the public.

The YCP leaders are asking why Naidu and Pawan are not questioning the BJP leaders on the issue of Special Category Status promise made to AP. It was a fact that in the 2014 election, Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan shared dais with PM Modi all across the State. At that time, Modi and BJP leaders repeatedly made promises on the Special Status.

Instead of bringing pressure on the Modi regime, the TDP and the Jana Sena are bringing pressure on the YCP regime in AP. In final analysis, it is clear that Special Status has just become an empty election issue that will remain an unfulfilled dream for the AP people.

Book SC, ST case against Naidu: YCP to DGP

0

It all looks like an atrocities case is going to be booked against TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu himself this time. Already, tens of cases have been filed against the TDP leaders across the State under the SC, ST atrocities act. Now, YCP MP Nandigam Suresh and his party Dalit MLAs have met and complained to DGP Gautham Sawang against Naidu. They sought filing of an atrocities case against the TDP chief for passing insulting comments on YCP Tirupati MP nominee Dr. Gurumurthy.

The YCP leaders say that a posting was made on social media to defame and humiliate Dr. Gurumurthy. The TDP handiwork is suspected behind this. Nandigam Suresh told the DGP that Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh might be involved in this defamatory posting.

As such, they sought SC, ST atrocities cases and also charges under the cyber laws. The complaint comes amidst the rising political heat in the State. The TDP and the BJP are making all out efforts to give a tight fight to the YCP in the Tirupati electioneering.

The YCP, which is cool and confident of victory till yesterday, has now launched threats once again to intimidate the Opposition and thereby to win with a massive majority.

Police harassing TDP cadres in temple attack case: Naidu

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo and former chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu wrote to Andhra Pradesh director general of police (DGP) Gautam Sawang alleging that police are harassing the opposition party cadres in the latest temple attack case.

Naidu alleged that instead of arresting the culprits involved in the desecration of Subramanya Swamy temple at Petagunta village in Gonuguru gram panchayt, 40 TDP leaders have been picked up by the police.

“Police instead of arresting the culprits are harassing opposition TDP leaders for seeking justice. On Tuesday evening, police had lifted 40 leaders from TDP and moved them from one police station to another without even giving them food,” claimed Naidu on Wednesday.

According to the TDP chief, only late in the night did police serve a notice under section 160, even as all the 40 belong to four villages who command respect, including some of them working as sarpanches earlier.

He highlighted that some of the rounded up cadres are contesting the MPTC polls.

“While such notice itself is ridiculous, registration of cases against TDP leaders under FIR No. 69/2021, Kuppam police station is risible. Additionally, TDP leaders who came to the police station to apprise the police about the gruesome happenings were also booked in the above case,” he claimed.

He alleged that Satyendra Sekhar, former AMC director, Raj Kumar, Kuppam urban TDP president and Kanipakam Vekatesh were also taken away by the police.

Naidu claimed that such filing of cases against opposition party leaders is reminiscent of the colonial raj.

“This action by the police is only illustrative of political vendetta being pursued by the ruling YSRC in connivance with a section of police,” claimed the former chief minister.

He appealed to Sawang to unilaterally remove the alleged false cases against TDP leaders and strive to nab the ‘real’ culprits.

Naidu also demanded an inquiry against those police personnel who allegedly acted highhandedly against the TDP cadres.

Meanwhile, the TDP national president alleged that ever since June 2019, increased attacks are occurring on religious places in the southern state.

“It appears that the miscreants and anti-social elements are encouraged by the lukewarm response from the government with regard to temple attacks,” Naidu alleged, referring to the Pentagunta incident.

Pentagunta incident was cracked by police within 24 hours, with the identification of a drunk mentally unstable woman indulging in the desecration of idols.

However, irrespective of the government of the day or the political party in power, temple offences occurred in Andhra Pradesh almost every year in the past five years, as per the statistics shared earlier by Director General of Police (DGP) Gautam Sawang.

Under the TDP government, 163 temple offences were reported in 2015, 139 in 2017, 123 in 2018 and 177 in 2019, when the government transitioned to the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).

In 2020, a year which saw an uproar following the chariot burning at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Antarvedi, there were 143 alleged temple offences.

Jagan 1-day campaign, Naidu 4 days in Tirupati

4

The by-election campaign in the Tirupati by-election is picking up momentum. The April 17 poll is getting country-wide attention as it is considered a mini referendum on the Jagan regime. Despite this, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is planning to do such a one-day campaign. It is most likely on April 14. Whereas, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is starting his campaign from April 8 and is expected to continue it for four to five days.

The YCP is very confident of increasing its majority. Mr. Jagan Reddy has deployed one Minister each in all the seven assembly constituencies in the Tirupati parliamentary constituency. Moreover, the CM is heavily relying on the local strongmen like Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and Chevireddy Bhasker Reddy in the Chittoor district’s three segments and on Anil Kumar Yadav and Kakani Govardhan Reddy in the Nellore district’s four segments.

On the other hand, the TDP campaign has already been started by Nara Lokesh who has been doing door to door campaigns in the segments for the last four days. From today, Mr. Naidu will take over the TDP electioneering.

The YCP is silently doing its work in the respective segments with its money and muscle power. Whereas, the TDP is heavily dependent on raising awareness against the Jagan regime’s failures.

Nilam giving tensions to Naidu-Pawan from day one

0

As expected, the Opposition parties are strongly objecting to the decisions of State Election Commissioner Nilam Sawhney. In particular, the very first decision taken by Nilam goes directly against the demands of Jana Senani Pawan Kalyan. She has straightaway given notification for the ZPTC, MPTC polls without waiting for the court order on the case filed by the Jana Sena Party.

The JSP has petitioned the High Court seeking cancellation of the parishad polls held last year in view of the violations resorted to by the ruling party. The JPS sought a fresh notification for the parishad polls to ensure a free and fair poll now. However, Nilam Sawhney totally ignored this demand and started taking her decisions swiftly without taking the political parties into confidence.

Interestingly, Nilam called for an all party meeting to take their opinions on the parishad polls. But even before holding this meeting, she has released the notification. This is what has doubly irked Senani who is now swearing to take his fight to the next level.

Pawan has called for boycotting the all party called by Nilam. Already, the TDP is thinking of boycotting the ZPTC polls altogether. No wonder, Pawan will give strong counters to Nilam for her ‘alleged favours’ to Jagan right from day one.

Naidu under huge pressure to rediscover TDP

6

In the last leg of his long political career, former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is faced with a challenging task of saving the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) from the rival onslaught. In the Mahabharata, they say that there were countless reasons for the tragic end of Karna. In the case of the TDP too, there are too many challenges that appear almost unsolvable considering the ruthless attacks from the YCP, the BJP and the Jana Sena parties.

Amidst this, Mr. Naidu is under unforeseen pressure to rediscover his party and refurbish it from top to bottom. But the question is how to go about this. Usually, they say one needs a thorn to remove a thorn. Presently, the biggest real challenge for the TDP is to deal with the dangerous attack launched by CM Jagan Reddy and his party from micro and macro levels. The all round rowdyism, money and muscle power coupled with the captive religious vote bank have made Mr. Jagan Reddy an unchallengeable leader overnight after his victory in the 2019 election.

The pro-YCP commentators try to weaken the morale of Mr. Naidu by saying that only Jr. NTR would be able to breathe new life into the TDP. They are always ready to brand Nara Lokesh as inefficient. On the other hand, political analysts ask how Jr. NTR could face the mighty muscle power of Jagan Reddy. Even Pawan Kalya, who is known as the Power Star, could not stand the street power of the YCP and joined hands with the Modi-Shah duo to protect his cadres from the YCP political harassment.

Undoubtedly, Mr. Naidu’s immediate challenge seems to be preparing his party to match with the mob power of the YCP at the village, mandal, district and State levels. Along with this, the TDP must focus on socio-economic and political reengineering focusing on elimination of total opposition in favour of a single party existence.

Jagan puts an end to 4-decade old RESCO in Kuppam!

0

The YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh headed by Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has engaged in ‘vengeful politics’ against TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu right from Day-1 of assuming office.

It scrapped several schemes and projects of Naidu and reversed several decision of Naidu in these two years.

Latest, the YSRCP government has allowed APSPDCL to takeover Kuppam Rural Electric Cooperative Society Ltd (Kuppam RESCO) in Kuppam constituency represented by Naidu.

The state government did this citing APERC orders but everyone knows who appoints and controls APERC chairman and members.

APERC ordered cancellation of sale, distribution and retail licence of RESCO, which was set up in 1981 in Kuppam, with an aim to achieve 100% rural electrification in the backward and remote areas of Kuppam constituency.

There are 1.22 lakh shareholders in RESCO and 1.24 lakh electricity connections.

Naidu strongly objected to the takeover of RESCO by APSPDCL without any valid reasons.

Jagan ‘inaugurates’ Kurnool airport inaugurated by Naidu, becomes laughing stock!

8

When Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy ‘inaugurated’ Kurnool airport on Thursday (today), it raised many eyebrows.

Because Kurnool airport was inaugurated by TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in January 2019 itself, when he was Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

This airport was conceived and developed by Naidu when he was CM at a cost of Rs 150 crore.

Despite this, the YSRCP government has displayed such a ‘build up’ as if this airport was developed by CM Jagan.

Not only people, even netizens trolled Jagan for ‘inaugurating’ Kurnool airport that was already inaugurated by Naidu more than two years ago.

Though Naidu inaugurated the airport he could not focus on launching flight services as Assembly elections followed immediately.

Naidu lost power and Jagan became CM in May 2019.

However, Jagan ignored Kurnool airport and never focussed on making the airport operational though he is set to complete two years as CM in another two months.

But Jagan all of a sudden attempted to take credit for Kurnool airport by doing ‘second inauguration’.

Instead of inauguration, it would have been apt if this tamasha was confined to the naming of airport after Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, a freedom fighter from the region which now falls under Kurnool.

It would have been apt if Jagan opted for the launching of flight services from Kurnool airport on March 28 since Indigo airlines has agreed to operate flights to Bengaluru, Vizag and Chennai for March 28.

Ignoring all these, Jagan inaugurating Kurnool airport for second time has become a laughing stock in political and business circles.

When YSR failed, what can Jagan do: Lokesh on CID case

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national general secretary Nara Lokesh took a jibe at Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy saying when his father Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy could not do anything to his father N. Chandrababu Naidu then what could the current chief minister do.

Lokesh was referring to the alleged CID case on land grabbing from Dalits in Amaravati region.

“Your father could not do it, after all who are you Jagan Mohan Reddy? It is a habit for your family to file false cases against Naidus and get criticized by the Court,” claimed Lokesh late Friday.

He shared an 8-minute-long video furnishing details of the alleged attempts made by the Reddy family to implicate Naidu by lodging multiple cases in the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Court and the Supreme Court.

The video claimed that all attempts to file alleged false cases against the TDP supremo have failed and stated that Naidu’s honesty is like a burning ember (nippu).

It is mentioned in the video that despite repeatedly failing, the YSR family is allegedly not stopping their attempts to implicate Naidu and tarnish the TDP supremo and former chief minister with alleged corruption charges which have always fallen flat.

They said cases have been filed against Naidu since 1999 by Rajasekhar Reddy which were dismissed by the Courts.

Lokesh alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy failed to question the central government despite having 22 Members of Parliament (MPs) at his disposal.

“If YSRCP candidate wins in the Tirupati Parliamentary by-poll, it will be another mute voice but if TDP candidate Panabaka Laskhmi wins, it will be a voice that will raise questions on behalf of the people,” the TDP general secretary claimed.

The Scheduled Castes reserved high stakes seat of the Tirupati bypolls is scheduled on April 17 and all eyes in the state are on it.

On Friday, YSRCP founder and Chief Minister, Reddy, held a review meeting on the issue and told his party leaders and ministers that their candidate M. Gurumoorthy’s triumph should be so huge that the entire nation should take note of it.

Relief to Naidu, Narayana: AP High Court stays CID inquiry in Amaravathi land scam

3

In a major relief to TDP chief and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and former municipal minister P Narayana, the AP High Court today (Friday) issued stay orders on CID cases filed against him in Amaravathi land scam.

The AP High Court issued stay orders for four weeks and directed CID not to proceed against Naidu and Narayana.

The APCID had recently served notices on Chandrababu and Narayana and directed them to appear before it for inquiry on March 24 in connection with irregularities on assigned lands in the Amaravathi capital city project.

The CID also filed FIR against them.

Naidu and Narayana approached AP High Court against CID notices and FIR.

In their petitions, Naidu and Narayana told High Court that the YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh had filed false cases against them out of ‘political vendetta’.

The HC agreed with the arguments made by the lawyers of Naidu and Narayana.

The HC directed CID to submit evidence against Naidu and Narayana on alleged irregularities in land pooling for Amaravathi.

It asked CID to inform what evidences they had gathered in their investigation.

However, the CID told HC that it cannot disclose details at this stage as the investigation is in the primary stage and if they were allowed to conduct full-fledged inquiry, they can gather all the details and evidence.

Tirupati battle will decide Jagan-Naidu fates?

0

There are one lakh acres of Government lands in and around Tirupati temple town. As such, it has got all the potential to become a vibrant capital city for Andhra Pradesh. Former MP Chinta Mohan says that he has placed this demand before the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh but he has refused to acknowledge this. Even in Brahmamgari Kalagnanam, it was written that Tirupati would become the State Capital.

Chinta Mohan brought all these issues to the fore now ahead of the Tirupati bypoll. He says this by-election is going to be a crucial turning point in the history of not just AP but the whole India. Its result will decide the fates of both Jaganmohan Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu.

Chinta Mohan, who was a long time Congress MP from Tirupati, lost to the YCP in 2019. He entered the poll campaign once again launching a scathing attack on CM Jagan Reddy. Chinta Mohan dropped a bombshell saying that it was his close friend YSR who sowed the seeds for the Telangana movement in order to bring down the Kotla Vijayabhasker Reddy Government at that time. Afterwards, the agitation moved to the Osmania university from where KCR picked it up and continued it relentless till the State was separated.

Chinta Mohan said that there was no difference between Jagan and Modi. Jagan has supported the LIC bill in the Parliament without any principles.

Jagan picks HRC chairman, Naidu boycotts meet

8

CM Jaganmohan Reddy presided over the high level meeting held to select the new panel for the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC). Opposition Leader Chandrababu Naidu and Opposition Leader in AP Council Yanamala Ramakrishnudu boycotted the meeting. They condemned the unilateral and adamant manner in which the Jagan Reddy regime was dealing with the constitutional institutions.

The CM went ahead with the meeting which has selected Retired Judge Justice Mandati Sitarama Murthy as the SHRC Chairman. The Opposition leaders have expressed dissatisfaction at the Government’s indifference to the protection of the autonomy of the constitutional institutions like the SHRC. So many atrocities and human rights violations have taken place in the State but the Government did not allow the SHRC to act independently.

The Opposition leaders are referring to the joint suicide of Nandyal’s Abdul Salaam’s family and other incidents as examples of violations of human rights.
AP Opposition Leader, AP Council Chairman, Opposition Leader in Council and Assembly Speaker were ex officio members on the high level committee that selected the SHRC Chairman and members.

Frustrated Jagan filing silly cases: Lokesh

5

MLC Nara Lokesh has launched a scathing attack saying that the Jaganmohan Reddy Government has stooped to the lowest level of filing an SC, ST atrocities case against former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. This was out of sheer frustration over deadlock in the Capital City shifting. Jagan Reddy’s silly cases were just laughable and they would not be able to do any damage to the TDP chief.

Lokesh said that the CM might come out with any number of devious plans to kill Amaravati. However, the pious Capital would save and preserve itself on the strength of justice and ethical values. The courts have clearly said many times that there was no ‘insider trading’ in the Amaravati lands issue. They tried very hard for over 21 months and finally failed to find evidence to book Naidu in the Capital lands cases. Now, they lowered themselves to the cheap level of threatening a former CM with SC, ST atrocities case.

Mr. Lokesh slammed CM Jagan for sticking to his ‘adamant’ policies only to make the people believe in his illogical and meaningless ideas. Jagan Reddy has not learnt any lessons though the courts have passed strictures against his Government in the cases pertaining to the lands in Amaravati. Finally, the YCP Government got an atrocities case filed against the TDP chief based on a complaint given by a fake Reddy.
