Naidu in trouble: AP CID slaps notices in Amaravathi land scam

The YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh led by Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is tightening noose around the TDP chief and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravathi land scam.

The Andhra Pradesh CID officials have slapped notices on Naidu to appear before CID on March 23 for inquiry  in connection with his alleged involvement in Amaravathi land scam when he was CM between 2014 and 2019.

CID sleuths went to Naidu’s resident in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad today (Tuesday) and served notices.

The notices were served under 41 CrPC, according to AP CID chief Sunil Kumar.

The development assumed significance in the backdrop of YSRCP making a clean sweep in AP municipal polls and TDP suffered worst ever defeat in elections two days ago.

The CID registered FIR against Naidu for various procedural irregularities with regard to decisions taken on land pooling and allotments for the Amaravathi capital city project.

One of the major charges against Naidu pertains to the alienation of ‘assigned lands’ which form part of the 30,000 acres pooled for Amaravathi capital.

Amaravati is the right of Andhra people: Chandrababu Naidu

3

Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday said that Amaravati is the right of Andhra people and called upon all to fight for it.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president participated in a road show as part of the party’s campaign in Vijayawada Municipal Corporation elections.

Naidu said at least one person from every house should come forward to fight for continuing Amaravati as the state capital.

The leader of opposition said people of Vijayawada should move ahead with a clear plan and fight for Amaravati. He said the fight to save Amaravati as the only state capital is a people’s fight.

“Amaravati is not for me. It’s for the people,” said Naidu, who recalled that farmers gave their land for building the state capital.

Naidu urged people to elect TDP candidate as Vijayawada mayor. He called for putting an end to what he called the tyranny of the ruling YSR congress Party (YSRCP).

A total of 347 candidates are in the fray for the elections to Vijayawada Municipal Corporation scheduled to be held on March 10. The number of municipal wards has gone up from 59 to 64.

The YSRCP has fielded candidates in all the wards while TDP, which has an alliance with CPI, is contesting 57 seats. The CPI has fielded candidates in six wards.

The BJP fielded candidates in 22 wards, while the Jana Sena Party candidates are contesting in 41 wards.

The Congress fielded candidates in 34 wards, CPI-M in 22 wards and BSP is contesting in two wards.

Meanwhile, Vijayawada Police Commissioner B. Srinivasulu said that police are making fool-proof arrangements for a smooth conduct of the elections scheduled to be held on March 10.

He said that the department is deploying about 3,000 police personnel for the peaceful conduct of elections in Vijayawada. The commissioner said that 1,870 rowdy-sheeters were bound over.

Naidu-Lokesh betrayers of Vizag, says Vijay Sai

2

TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh are making greater efforts to retain their party hold on Visakhapatnam in the municipal elections. Whereas, Jaganmohan Reddy and his party leaders are very serious about capturing the port city to establish their firm hold there. As expected, the ruling YCP leaders are making their attacks on the TDP solely focused on the issue of making Vizag the Executive Capital of the State.

YCP MP Vijay Sai Reddy took up the lead in launching the attack on Naidu and Lokesh. He asked how Chandrababu and Lokesh could ask for votes in Vizag when they were opposing the Capital status for the port city.

Vijay Sai has gone a step ahead and called Chandrababu’s as an all ‘beverse’ and cheaters and dacoits party. There were many land grabs during the Chandrababu regime. Naidu and his son Lokesh were indeed the betrayers of Vizag and North Andhra region.

Vijay Sai Reddy told the Vizag people that the port city would definitely become the Executive Capital and nobody would be able to stop this.

Andhra cops threaten to drag Naidu to court for ‘unfounded’ comments

4

Andhra Pradesh Police Officers’ Association (APPOA) representatives on Friday threatened to drag former Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu to court if he doesn’t stop making ‘unfounded’ statements against the department as well as its Chief.

“If you do not stop making these unfounded statements, we will take you to court under the relevant rules,” threatened APPOA representatives.

Representing thousands of policemen, the police reps have condemned Naidu’s allegations levelled against the Director General of Police (DGP) Gautam Sawang.

The police body questioned Naidu if he was making such remarks in the light of the state panchayat elections results and told him that they could understand why.

The policemen alleged that there was nothing new in Naidu’s opposition to the police force.

“You cannot demoralize police and the DGP with your threats laced with casteism and regionalism,” the policemen said.

The APPOA representatives asked Naidu if the police department and the DGP were responsible for TDP’s losses in the recent rural local body polls.

Saying the TDP supremo’s statements reflect his personality, the policemen highlighted that they could comprehend why he is making allegations against Sawang laced with casteism and regionalism despite 40 years of political experience and 14 years as Chief Minister.

Standing behind the seniormost Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the state, the policemen said the DGP has been serving the state and the country for 35 years and called it a heinous development to ascribe caste, religion and regional motives.

“Didn’t you remember region and caste when the DGP handled key responsibilities during your government,” the police body asked the former Chief Minister.

Sawang worked as Vijayawada Police Commissioner during the TDP dispensation under Naidu.

The policemen warned Naidu that his statements violate the law and reminded him that he was not above the law.

This open letter to Naidu from junior police officers assumes significance as it is not the first one and was in response to Naidu’s speech in Kurnool on Thursday.

Naidu had alleged that the Andhra police are ‘shameless’ and are hounding the TDP which is known for its integrity and observed that they (police) are also from the state.

“They (police) are also from this state. Your children also have to stay here, do remember that. They have to live here. All have to live and die here,” said Naidu while addressing a crowd from an open top vehicle in the run-up to the urban local body polls in Rayalaseema town.

Naidu went on to claim that the state’s future is allegedly being pushed into darkness and what could he say if the police cooperate with people responsible for it along with criminals.

“I am raising my folded hands with Namaste (respect), please do not do such wrongful deeds. Your DGP will leave in a few days. He will leave for Hyderabad or to his village in the north-east but you and I will be here. Your children and our children will live here. A situation is arising in which the state may become an orphan, I request you all to be careful,” said Naidu.

Naidu started high drama at Renigunta airport: Sajjala

6

Airports have also become venues for the YCP leaders to do a lot of politicking around them. Prior to the 2019 election, the murder attempt on Jagan Reddy at Vizag airport was sensation all over the country at that time. Thereafter, Naidu was detained at Vizag airport. It was at the airport itself that Jagan Reddy met the workers unions of LG Polymers after the infamous gas leak.

Now, the Chandrababu Naidu detainment at Renigunta airport became a sensation in the midst of the municipal elections. CM Jagan’s advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has called it nothing but an airport drama by the TDP chief. Sajjala asserted that there was no need for the YCP to threaten the TDP candidates.

Sajjala said that their party candidates would win the elections on the strength of the welfare programmes being implemented by the Jaganmohan Reddy regime. It was Chandrababu Naidu who was misleading the public for the sake of defaming the YCP rule. In fact, it was the TDP which was not able to find even candidates to contest the election on its behalf.

Sajjala has asked whether Naidu does not know that the election code was in progress in the Chittoor district. While the elections were going on smoothly, Naidu was saying that the attacks were being committed.
The YCP Advisor advised the people to demand an explanation from the TDP chief.

Naidu visit blocked by police at Renigunta airport

2

Tension mounted amid rising political temperatures in the Chittoor district. A large number of police arrived at the Renigunta airport and arrested the TDP leaders. The police officials also blocked former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Tirupati today. Mr. Naidu was prevented from coming out of the airport.

The police also served notices to the TDP chief saying that there was no permission for his visit because of the Coronavirus guidelines. They also pointed out that the Chandrababu tour would have a debilitating impact on the municipal election process in the town.

Along with this, the police placed TDP leaders across the district under house arrest. Former Minister Amarnath Reddy, former MLA Sugunamma, TDP Chittoor district president Pulvarthi Nani and others were held in custody.

Mr. Chandrababu Naidu has scheduled his visit to Tirupati today to call on and protest against the demolition of the shop of the TDP candidate in the temple town. Tirupati municipal corporation elections became a major issue of confrontation between both the parties. Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhasker Reddy, who is very aggressive, has been mounting pressure on the TDP leaders in the town right from the beginning.

Can Ministers come out without police protection? asks Naidu

3

Former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has hit back on Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy for his comments on security in Naidu Kuppam visit. Naidu asserted that he will walk anywhere without fear and without police protection. Can the YCP Ministers walk on the roads without police security? Naidu asked.

The TDP chief warned and vowed to lead a state-wide public revolt against the oppressive rowdyism of the Jaganmohan Reddy regime from the Kuppam assembly segment itself. He told the people that there was no other solution for them except to come on to the roads and fight against the atrocities of the Chief Minister and his party MLAs. If the people were afraid and remained indoors for fear of false cases and arrests, then the Jagan Reddy gangs would create greater chaos and harm to the State as a whole.

The TDP chief held roadshows and addressed a series of meetings in the Kuppam segment when he appealed to the local residents about the need to hit back at the oppressors. “I have seen 12 Chief Ministers in my 40 years career. I have both worked with them and fought against them. Those differences were along ideological and constitutional lines. But I have never ever seen this kind of a psycho CM before.”

Mr. Naidu asserted that he was never afraid of anybody in his life and served as a Chief Minister for 14 long years with unbreakable records as 9-year CM and 10-year Opposition leader in the united AP. That was historic and nobody would be able to beat that record since the State was divided already. “I contested seven times in Kuppam segment but never resorted to attacks like this on the YCP leaders”.

Will continue to fight for poor in the state: Chandrababu Naidu

1

In his first visit to Kuppam after the recent panchayat polls drubbing, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday vowed that he would continue to fight for the poor in the state.

“Despite the hardships being caused, I will continue to stand by the poor and fight for them,” declared Naidu, alleging that the government is conspiring to stop him from fighting for the poor.

He fondly reminded Kuppam people that they always treated him as a family member. Naidu said Kuppam, the constituency which he has been representing for several years never separated people.

Further praising the place, Naidu said the constituency is an example to the state and boasted that Kuppam people saved him in their heart.

“Any good initiative we wanted to do, we started from Kuppam,” he claimed, saying that the constituency was developed like no other place in India.

The TDP supremo alleged that there were many irregularities in the recently concluded rural local bodies elections.

Naidu said that he never resorted to corrupt ways in his political life of 40 years. He ridiculed Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy that welfare activities were not just limited to him.

The former chief minister issued a warning to the ruling party that he is remembering all the hiccups they were subjecting the TDP cadres to.

“I will return everything to you with interest,” he fumed.

Addressing the party cadres, Naidu alleged that the government did no good in the past two years and compared that some welfare schemes were better in the TDP government than the current YSRCP one.

Sajjala slams Naidu to protect Vizag Swami

2

Suddenly, the TDP leaders right from Chandrababu Naidu have started making outright attacks on Sarada Peetham Swami Swaroopananda of Vizag. Their main worry is that the Swamiji is not only giving spiritual strength but also turning his Peetham into a multi-purpose sanctuary for Mr. Jagan Reddy.

Obviously, the Swami is left defenceless. If he gives a counter, it will lead to a bigger attack from the TDP. If he is silent, the general public may think that the TDP leaders’ allegations are true. Now, the Swamiji has left it to the duty of the ruling YCP leaders to make counter allegations against the critics.

As such, Jagan Reddy’s favourite Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy came to the fore and took upon himself the task of defending the defenceless Swamiji. Usually, Sajjala would step in only when there would be a very important matter. He was serving almost as the mouthpiece for the Chief Minister.

Sajjala simply termed Chandrababu comments on Swami as unwelcome and baseless. He said that after the debacle in Kuppam, Chandrababu was speaking in an unbalanced manner. In the past, Naidu had also met the same Swamiji but he was conveniently forgetting that.

Naidu PA resigns over Kuppam panchayat debacle

1

The personal assistant of Chandrababu Naidu has resigned owing to responsibility for the party defeat in the Kuppam segment panchayat elections. Manohar has been working as Naidu’s PA for over 30 years. Though Naidu has asked him to stay, he has tendered his resignation. The very poor show of the TDP in Kuppam came as a big shock. To cover up for this, Naidu is visiting the segment for three days beginning from tomorrow.

Of the total 89 panchayats, the TDP has won just 14 seats in Kuppam segment this time. The YCP has won 75 panchayats which shocked the political circles. Naidu has already analysed the reasons for the party’s defeat. Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and MLA Chevireddy Bhasker Reddy have personally resorted to violations in the segment.

However, there have been complaints pouring from the TDP local leaders that the growing gap with the party incharges and Naidu PA have also caused the defeat.

The local TDP cadres have also blamed the party Kuppam incharge Muniratnam and MLC Gounivari Srinivasulu for the party’s debacle.

Manohar has said that the new PA to look after Naidu’s activities in Kuppam will be appointed soon.

Naidu era came to an end in AP politics: Sajjala

1

The YCP has claimed that it has bagged 85 percent seats in the AP panchayat elections. There are over 13,125 panchayats in the State. The ruling party leaders are asserting that they have got a clear and indisputable majority. Just like in the 2019 Assembly elections, their party has totally decimated and exterminated the TDP.

With this, there is no doubt that the Chandrababu Naidu era in AP politics has come to an end, says AP Government Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy. He has asserted that the YCP won 100 percent seats in Pulivendula which belongs to Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

Sajjala has asserted that there is no longer any space for the wicked and manipulative politics of the TDP chief in Andhra Pradesh. CM Jagan Reddy has won the hearts of the Telugu people and AP voters by fulfilling all the promises he has made to them. Like nobody else in the past, CM Jagan has fulfilled 200 percent promises. He has fulfilled all the promises made at the time of elections and also many new promises that were not there in the Navaratnalu promises.

The YCP has successfully projected the panchayat elections as some kind of a mini Assembly election. The same aggressiveness is expected in the municipal elections also in which the TDP is expecting a better performance.

Face saving for Chandrababu in native Naravaripalle poll

1

Despite all out efforts by the YCP leaders, the TDP supported candidate has won the panchayat election in Chandrababu Naidu’s native village of Naravaripalle. The village is located in the Chandragiri assembly segment which is represented by Chevireddy Bhasker Reddy.

The YCP brought in outsiders and tried all its tactics but eventually it failed to pull out a victory. The TDP has won in all the eight wards in the village. TDP supported candidate Bobba Lakshmi has won with a good majority of 563 votes. With this, the TDP local leaders heaved a sigh of relief. They faced a lot of pressure following the defeat of majority sarpanch elections in Naidu’s Kuppam assembly segment in the previous phase of elections.

The TDP kept a close watch on the movement of outsiders in Naravaripalle since the election began. When they saw outsiders entering the polling booths, they immediately complained to the election authorities. On the other hand, the ruling YCP leaders have said that the TDP has used inducements and gifts to win the voters in an unfair manner.

Naidu writes to PM, steps up pressure on Jagan

7

Allegations and counter allegations are going on between the YCP and the TDP leaders on the Vizag Steel Plant agitation. CM Jagan Reddy has written a letter to PM to cancel the VSP sale a few days ago. The TDP questioned whether that letter has reached the PM or not and whether the CMO has sent that letter to the PMO or not. Then, the YCP leaders started questioning why TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu is not bringing pressure on the PM.

As a counter to the ruling party challenges, the TDP boss dashed off a letter to Modi, urging him to stop privatisation of the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) commonly known as the Visakha Steel Plant (VSP). He stressed the need for protection of the steel plant as it was a matter of pride for the State and it remained a lifeline for the North Andhra region. He recalled how the Andhras made huge sacrifices and took out prolonged agitation for achieving the Visakha Steel Plant. It stood as a symbol of the unity of the Telugu people and an everlasting sentiment for them.

The TDP chief said that in its budget for 2021-22, the Government of India (GOI) has proposed to privatise the RINL. The Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), announced that the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the proposal to privatise RINL on January 27, 2021. Since the plant had accumulated losses to the tune of about Rs. 4,000 crore from 1991 to 2000, the same was referred to the Board of Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR) by the Atal Behari Vajpayee Government. Upon the request of the then AP Government, the Government of India provided a restructuring package of Rs. 1,333 crore, which helped to turn the plant profitable.

Mr. Naidu said that the RINL Steel Plant was facing losses due to reasons such as absence of captive mines and burden of high interest rates on loans. In this backdrop, the Government of India or the Government of Andhra Pradesh may provide captive mines to the RINL Steel Plant to turn the fortunes of RINL steel plant. At current market prices, the land that the steel plant is located alone costs about Rs 1.5 Lakh to 2 Lakh Crores.

The TDP told Mr. Modi that people from more than 68 villages gave up their land for this steel plant. About 16,000 families gave up 26,500 acres of land. They were promised one job each. However, only about 8,000 families have received jobs so far. In spite of many hurdles, the steel plant was built and dedicated to the nation in 1992, also paving way for the development of Visakhapatnam city. Not only is RINL Steel Plant the pride of Visakhapatnam and Andhra Pradesh, but also the entire country.

After Kuppam, YCP targets Naidu native village

2

YCP Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and MLA Chevireddy Bhasker Reddy have used all sorts of power politics to defeat TDP in Chandrababu Naidu’s Kuppam segment panchayat elections. Now, their eyes have fallen on Naidu’s native village Naravaripalle. It falls under the Chandragiri assembly segment which is represented by Chevireddy.

The YCP leaders and the Sakshi media have launched multifarious attacks now on Naidu’s village. They have given all round publicity on how Naidu has suffered serious reverses in his own native segment. Now, their game plan is to get maximum votes in Naravaripalle in order to highlight this in social media.

Already, the Sakshi media has begun saying that Chandrababu Naidu was resorting to unfair politics to protect his party in his village. It says the TDP leaders are going to each and every household distributing inducements. Already, cookers have been distributed in every house. Once again, sarees and Rs. 5,000 cash are being distributed now.

Sakshi says that Naidu is resorting to this after facing embarrassment in Kuppam. Whether it is true or not, the YCP is giving sleepless nights to the TDP chief even in the panchayat polls.

Chandrababu Naidu sold 54 government companies: YSRCP

4

Senior Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP V. Vijayasai Reddy on Friday lambasted Telugu Desam Party (TDP) National President N. Chandrababu Naidu alleging that he orchestrated the sale of 54 government companies.

“Who sold Nizam Sugars Limited, dozen cooperative sugar factories, Allwyn watches, spinning mills and paper mills, all together 54 companies,” Reddy alleged.

He doubled down on the TDP Supremo following his censure of the state government and Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for failing to stop the Central government’s decision of privatising Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP).

“Further, who emptied 100 more companies and sent lakhs of employees home with voluntary retirement service (VRS)? Don’t people know your crocodile tears Babu,” Reddy claimed attacking Naidu.

According to the Rajya Sabha MP, the ruling YSRCP party leaders would undertake a 25-km ‘padayatra’ (walkathon) on Saturday in Visakhapatnam, starting from the Mahatma Gandhi statue at the city civic body office and terminating at the steel plant arch.

He ridiculed that a leader like N. Chandrababu Naidu, who allegedly sold away 54 government companies, is now claiming to fight for the steel plant.

“He (Naidu) spewed venom the moment it was announced that Visakhapatnam would be made the executive capital. Using media houses favouring him, he propagated that Vizag is prone to tsunamis and earthquakes,” Reddy alleged.

The ‘padayatra’ will traverse through Asilmetta Junction, Sangam Sarath, Kali Temple, Thatichetlapalem, Kancharapalem, Urvasi Junction, 104 area, Marripalem, NAD Junction, airport, Sheela Nagar, BHPV, Old Gajuwaka and Srinagar.

Commenting upon the panchayat poll results, the YSRCP leader claimed that the ruling party aligned candidates won more than 85 per cent ‘sarpanch’ posts in the third phase of the polls.

He alleged that people would remove oxygen support for TDP which is already on ventilator and claimed that the opposition leader filed petitions in the courts to stall ‘Amma Vodi’ and public housing schemes for the poor.

Meanwhile, Naidu alleged that the panchayat polls were ‘lawless’ and it was democracy which got defeated.

“TDP and its allies have posted good results and got 41.41 per cent seats in the third phase of panchayat polls. They have won more than 1,093 panchayats as the final results are emerging. The TDP has already won 38.74 per cent seats in the first phase and 39.52 percent seats in the second phase,” Naidu claimed.

Stop steel plant sale or resign, TDP supremo to Andhra CM

3

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) National President and opposition leader N. Chandrababu Naidu demanded Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to stop the sale of the steel plant or resign from his post.

“Stop the sale of the steel plant or resign and go to jail or wherever you (CM) would like to go. If YSRCP continued its games of betrayal against the people’s sentiments even now, the people of the state would rise in revolt and they would not allow the ruling party leaders to move on the roads,” said Naidu.

He demanded Reddy to take responsibility to lead the ongoing agitation to save the prestigious steel plant which is facing the immediate threat of privatisation.

Naidu met his party leader Palla Srinivasa Rao, whose indefinite fast was forcibly ended by the police, in the hospital.

He said Rao was continuing his fast unto death from his hospital bed.

The former Chief Minister admonished Reddy and his party leaders to make sincere efforts like Rao, whose hunger strike completed eight days.

“Not a single minister has visited or enquired about his health till now. Palla’s weight has come down by 10 kg already. But the false protesters were gaining weight on the other hand,” said the TDP supremo.

Naidu claimed that the Chief Minister is allegedly not opening his mouth on the steel plant issue.

He demanded Reddy to stop his alleged pretensions as the steel plant has immense sentimental value for the people of Andhra Pradesh.

“In the united state, the people of all the three regions including Telangana waged a united stir and protected the VSP. Over 32 agitators sacrificed their lives and Tadikonda resident Amrutha Rao continued a 47-day long fast at that time,” Naidu reminded.

Amid those circumstances, he claimed there was no option for Indira Gandhi but to grant the steel plant in the port city.

He slammed YSCRP MP V. Vijayasai Reddy for allegedly counselling Andhra people in a fashion that they should accept the reality of privatisation.

“At the same time, the MP was saying that he would take up a 20 km long padayatra. What was required right now was that the YSRCP MP should go to Delhi and get the steel plant sale stopped,” the former CM asserted.

Naidu claimed that the state people realised that YSRCP leaders are enacting false dramas and going to meet an alleged fake swamiji (godman) in Vizag to seek his blessing for their nefarious activities.

He claimed that Reddy met with the representatives of Posco, including posing for photographs with them but did not bother to tell the people about the privatisation plans.

“If the CM had any love for the North Andhra region, he should get the Obulapuram mines allotted for saving the Visakha Steel plant. That would save the industry from the privatisation plan immediately,” Naidu claimed.

According to the former Chief Minister, the steel plant was supporting the livelihoods of 5 lakh people, paying Rs 41,000 crore tax, out of which Rs 33,000 crore go to the Central government and Rs 8,000 crore to the state government.

“The Jagan regime was trying to make sure that there would be no public sector industry in Vizag. They set their sights on the Rs 2 lakh crore worth steel plant lands with which they were planning to do real estate in future,” he alleged.

Jagananna arrow flying in reverse mode: Naidu

4

‘Jagananna vadilina banam’ (arrow released by Jagan). This was the slogan that the YCP leaders used to describe YS Sharmila during the 2019 elections. She also used this slogan everywhere to send her message straight to the masses. But now, Sharmila is starting her own party strangely in Telangana with the supposed agenda of bringing Rajanna Rajyam there.

In his latest reaction on this, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu asked CM Jagan to explain why his ‘banam’ (arrow) was now flying backwards to hit himself. At every given opportunity, the CM would give elaborate lectures on credibility and loyalty in politics but this time his own sister was turning against him. CM Jagan should be answerable on this count.

Mr. Naidu said that it was now once clear that Mr. Jagan Reddy would not hesitate his own family members for the sake of his selfish agenda. In the 2019 elections, Jagan Reddy demanded the CBI probe into the murder of his uncle Vivekananda Reddy. But after coming to power, the CM has said that there was no need for the CBI probe into that murder of Viveka.

It was only after Viveka’s daughter approached the court that the CBI began its probe once again. She has a right to find out who are the culprits in the murder. Only to get relief for accomplices from this murder investigation by the CBI, the Chief Minister is going to Delhi repeatedly.

Constitution being violated in Andhra: Chandrababu Naidu

1

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national President and principal opposition leader in Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Tuesday alleged that the Constitution is being violated in the state at a time when the country is commemorating Republic Day to celebrate its implementation.

“Freedom and rights obtained through the Constitution written by a genius like B.R. Ambedkar are being violated in Andhra Pradesh now,” claimed Naidu.

According to Naidu, Ambedkar had said that there would be faults by humans but not by the Constitution.

“Such errors are now happening in Andhra Pradesh. In these circumstances, it is the responsibility of all of us to protect and respect of our Constitution. So all the five crore people of Andhra must get ready to protect the Constitution,” he said.

Earlier, Naidu welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to dismiss the state government’s petition to defer the panchayat elections.

“After coming to power, the ruling YSRCP has been committing unchecked constitutional violations in many instances. No system or institution is being allowed to function peacefully and normally. Hurdles are being created at every step,” Naidu alleged.

The former Chief Minister claimed that all the four pillars of legislature, judiciary, executive and the media are undermined with the ruling party leaders allegedly issuing continuous threats to the heads of constitutional institutions.

He claimed that a bill was passed out of political vindictiveness to abolish the legislative council altogether.

“The honest and committed officials are being targeted and harassed. The judiciary and the courts are coming under unforeseen attacks. The judges are being threatened. The State Election Commission is being ignored, while the election commissioner is unduly criticised in the name of caste,” he alleged.

He hoped that the apex court’s order will serve as an ‘eye opener’ for the alleged fascist and anarchic regime.

YSRCP accuses Chandrababu Naidu of trying to divide society

1

Senior Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and Rajya Sabha member V. Vijayasai Reddy alleged on Friday that Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo Nara Chandrababu Naidu has no ‘honesty, shame or justice.’

“Babu is a person who sets aside honesty, shame and justice and calling for dharma parikrama yatra shows his low level. Without even the fear of people, he is resorting to bluffing,” alleged Reddy.

He claimed that Naidu is responsible for temple demolitions and is now preaching about faith.

According to the Rajya Sabha MP, Naidu’s mental state has become worrisome because his son Nara Lokesh hasn’t allegedly succeeded, including the anxiety of not being in a position in the future to retain the status of an opposition leader.

That’s why, Reddy said Naidu is resorting to accusations, forgetting culture and decency.

“Politically, Naidu is struggling on the last leg of his life. He is desiring to salvage his political life with religious divisions. That will never happen. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, all the people are united. Nobody cares for allegations,” he asserted.

Meanwhile, Naidu criticised the state government that it just did an eyewash about the mysterious illness in West Godavari district for four days which captured the attention of the country.

“Later, they abandoned it. Now it spread to Denduluru mandalam’s Komirepalli village. Instead of concentrating on conspiratorial politics and destruction of institutions, rulers should focus on public health,” alleged Naidu.

He said Komirepalli villagers are saying that their drainage system is in a pathetic condition.

“Government is not in a position to give even safe drinking water. Government rule should transform people’s lives but YSRCP is ruling in such a way that people are thinking it is okay if they are alive,” claimed the former chief minister.

YSRCP’s remarks on Ramateertham ‘dangerous thinking’, alleges TDP

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president and principal opposition leader in Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Thursday termed the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government’s statements on the Ramateertham issue as ‘dangerous thinking’.

He said the government is allegedly doing this with an ulterior motive to terrify and suppress the voice of the opposition cadres and the general public.

In December last year, unidentified miscreants had cut off the head of the Lord Ram’s idol at the Ramateertham hilltop temple in Nellimarla village in Vizianagaram district, which triggered a massive controversy with the opposition parties accusing the ruling party of allegedly ignoring the temples’ safety and security.

Naidu also condemned the arrest of party member Kala Venkatrao on Wednesday, asserting that he was a non-controversial leader with 40 years of experience.

“The government’s attitude is dangerous as it wants all the opponents to either kill themselves or get killed by criminals under suspicious circumstances,” Naidu claimed.

Training his guns on the police department, the TDP supremo demanded that Director General of Police (DGP) Gautam Sawang should explain what crime did Venkatrao commit.

“False cases have been filed against TDP leaders in the name of attack on an MP’s car. The DGP should explain why no preventive steps are taken nor any cases are filed against the YSRCP MP,” Naidu said.

He added that it is high time for Sawang to follow the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and safeguard the rights of the people, and not follow the ‘Jagan Reddy Penal Code’.

“If the DGP cannot overcome pressure from the ruling YSRCP leaders to implement the rule of law, he should resign and go home. The government is just daydreaming that the TDP leaders could be suppressed with fabricated cases and false arrests,” the former Chief Minister said.

Naidu also claimed that there is no proper response from the CM or the DGP despite the sawing away of Lord Ram’s idols and 150 alleged temple attacks.

“The DGP should at least respect his uniform. Otherwise he should quit expressing his inability to stop the atrocities,” Naidu said.

Meanwhile, the opposition leader welcomed the high court order to conduct rural local body elections and said that the YSRCP leaders should realise that judges may change, but justice will remain.

“They resorted to election irregularities which is why 27 per cent unanimous results were seen in the MPTC and ZPTC elections. The fake CM and his party leaders are trying to use rowdyism to terrify and suppress all sections of voters,” Naidu alleged.

He also asked Sawang how permission to the ‘dharma parirakshana yatra’ could be cancelled on Thursday after granting it on Wednesday.

Currently, a huge controversy is raging in the southern state over the alleged attacks on temples. While the YSRCP is blaming the TDP for these incidents, the latter is accusing the YSRCP of not protecting the temples and being lax about their safety.

Several alleged temples attack cases have emerged in the past six months, compelling the government to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to crack them.

The police are also focusing on people who are peddling fake news on temple attacks, resulting in some journalists and other social media users getting arrested for their alleged propaganda.
