Top South Indian director Shankar and Ram Charan are working on a film and the shoot is happening as per the plan. Shankar had plans to complete the entire shoot of the film by the end of this year and this untitled film is aimed for summer 2023 release. His previous film Indian 2 is kept on hold and there is no clarity about the project. There are several issues going on and they have seemed to be resolved now. Shankar should resume the shoot of Indian 2 and Kamal Haasan allocated dates for the project.

Shankar has changed his plans and he will shoot for Indian 2 and Ram Charan’s film simultaneously. He informed the same to Ram Charan and Dil Raju recently. Over 100 days of shoot for Indian 2 is left for now. There are changes made for the film’s cast now. Shankar is in plans to shoot Indian 2 for ten days and Ram Charan’s film for ten days every month. Before this, he will complete the planned schedule of Ram Charan’s project in August.

Ram Charan’s film may not release as per the summer plan for now. Shankar also signed the remake of Anniyan with Ranveer Singh and the film’s shoot is pushed to next year.

Director Shankar Shanmugham, who has delivered some huge blockbusters with superstar Rajinikanth, called on the actor along with his daughter on the occasion of their film ‘Sivaji’ completing 15 years on Wednesday.

‘Sivaji’, which went on to emerge a huge blockbuster, had Rajinikanth playing an NRI who returns home to India with the dream of making education affordable to even the poor of the country.

Posting a picture of himself with Rajinikanth, Shankar on Twitter said, “Elated to have met our ‘Sivaji the Boss’ Rajinikanth sir himself on this very memorable day marking 15 years of ‘Sivaji’. Your energy, affection and positive aura made my day!”

Sources say that the meeting of the director with the actor lasted for a good 45 minutes during which period the two discussed a number of topics including the film industry and Shankar’s upcoming film with Ram Charan.

Shankar’s daughter Aditi Shankar, a doctor by profession who will also be making her debut as a heroine through director Muthiah’s ‘Viruman’, also posted a picture of herself with the superstar clicked on the occasion.

“15 years of ‘Sivaji’! With the boss himself Rajinikanth sir,” she wrote.

SJ Suryah likely to be cast in Ram Charan-Shankar movie

Tamil actor-director S.J. Suryah is likely to play an important role in Ram Charan’s much-hyped upcoming movie which is being directed by Shankar Shanmugam.

Reports suggest that S.J. Suryah is being considered to play the main antagonist opposite ‘RRR’ actor Ram Charan in his upcoming venture. Tentatively titled ‘RC15’, the movie is one of the most anticipated projects, which is being made with a huge budget.

S.J. Suryah, who directed blockbuster hit ‘Kushi’ in Telugu, failed to impress the audience with his movie ‘Nani’, which had Mahesh Babu and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles.

Despite his mind-blowing performance in Mahesh Babu’s psycho thriller ‘Spyder’, S.J. Suryah did not get a reasonable response among the Telugu audience.

But, Suryah’s recent appearance in Tamil movie ‘Maanadu’ is being praised, and the makers of ‘RC15’ are hopeful to get the director-cum-actor on board for a strongly-written role.

‘RC15’ also features Srikanth, Sunil, Anjali, Jayaram, and others in key roles. Thaman is the film’s music director.

Kiara Advani, who has appeared alongside Ram Charan in ‘Vinaya Vidheya Rama’ earlier, is the female lead in ‘RC15’. The big-budget movie is produced by Dil Raju.

Telugu star Mahesh Babu, whose appearance on Nandamuri Balakrishna’s talk show ‘Unstoppable’ was featured on Aha, revealed an unknown incident from his past.

One of his directors Meher Ramesh had shared an incident from the past, while Mahesh Babu had to apologise to Tamil director Shankar Shanmugam.

As Balakrishna played a few videos of multiple directors, they had revealed some memorable incidents with Mahesh Babu. Meher Ramesh, who has worked with Mahesh for a couple of commercials as well, reminded him of an incident, which happened in Chennai.

“We were having breakfast in a star hotel. I was with my family, as Meher Ramesh and his family were there too. Two beautiful girls, who came to me, had requested my autograph. I refused to do so, saying that it was my personal, family time”, Mahesh Babu explained.

“After some time, Meher Ramesh told me that the two girls were director Shankar’s daughters. I was shocked, as I walked up to him on the next floor, I apologised for not giving them my autograph when his daughters had requested me,” the ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ actor said.

“Shankar, who took it in the most positive way, said that it was totally fine, as his daughter had come to know how stars live. I was so stunned at his simplicity and humbleness”, Mahesh said.

Mahesh Babu awaits the theatrical release of ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ on May 12.

Shankar’s daughter Aditi is now an actress and a doctor!

Ace director Shankar’s daughter Aditi Shankar, who is making her debut as an actress in the Tamil films with ‘Viruman’, has announced that she had now officially become a doctor.

The young actress, who posted picture of herself receiving her degree and holding her degree with dad on her social media account, said on Friday, “Here’s to all the fun memories, late nights and mugs of coffee that got me here! Officially Dr Aditi Shankar #graduationday #endsandbeginnings”

It was only in September this year that it was announced that Aditi would be turning an actress.

‘Viruman’, through which Aditi will be making her debut as a heroine, features actor Karthi in the lead and is produced by actors Suriya and Jyothika.

The film is being directed by Muthiah, who had earlier directed Karthi’s hit film ‘Komban’.

Apart from Karthi and Aditi, Viruman will also feature Raj Kiran, Prakash Raj and Soori in important roles. The film is expected to hit screens early next year.

The critically acclaimed courtroom drama is inspired by true events that happened in Tamil Nadu in the 1990s and tells the moving story of an upright lawyer coming to the aid of poor people from the Irular community who have no means to stand up to the brutality of an inhuman police force that seeks to exploit their helplessness.

The first schedule of ‘Mega Powerstar’ Ramcharan’s upcoming film, being directed by Shankar, has been successfully wrapped up.

Revealing this, the movie’s team said the first schedule was shot in Pune, Satara and Phalton. Adrenaline pumping special sequences were shot during this schedule. They were canned in grand manner and will be one of the highlights of the movie. The whole cast and crew led by Shankar are happy with the way the scenes have taken shape, it added.

Since this is the 50th venture of Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations, the producer is bankrolling it on a lavish budget, leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the film will be a landmark in Indian cinema, it further said.

“This film will be a truly grand venture in every sense and fans and audience will be in awe of the magic Ramcharan and Shankar will be unveiling on screen.”
