Tollywood following a new Trend

0

Telugu audience are the first to return back to theatres after the arrival of coronavirus pandemic. With several industries yet to reopen, Telugu film industry witnessed three blockbusters in three months: Krack, Uppena and Jathi Ratnalu. The music album is playing a crucial role in the success of the films. If the music album is a huge hit, the audience are rushing to theatres. Uppena and Jathi Ratnalu are the best examples. Next comes the trailer of the film and the openings of the films are highly dependent on the trailer.

The audience are matured enough and they are not bothered to watch a film in theatres if they aren’t impressed with the trailer of the film. The promotional content and the way a film is promoted is also playing a crucial role. The promotions of Jathi Ratnalu played a big role in the film’s success and the massive promotions are drawing the audience to theatres. The filmmakers have to focus much on the promotional strategies and music albums which turned out to be the key factors of a film’s success in Telugu cinema.

Tollywood is back on track in just 2 Months

Tollywood is the only film industry that reopened completely and announced releases till the end of this year. Even the Bollywood filmmakers and analysts are surprised to see the way Telugu releases performed at the box-office. The calculations have been different completely last year. Several experts predicted that it would take a couple of years for the market to revive completely and there would be a huge crisis for finances because of the coronavirus. Some of them even predicted that the top actors, directors and technicians will slash down their remunerations to save the film industry and producers. There were debates that the exhibition industry which was badly hit will struggle a lot as the theatres are shut for a year.

But things are extremely different in Telugu cinema. The predictions came down from two years to two months. The industry is back within a span of just two months. Films like Krack and Uppena overperformed and proved that the Tollywood audience are ready to watch films in theatres. Small films like 30 Rojullo Preminchatam Ela, Zombie Reddy and Naandhi proved that the Telugu audience will continue to support good films. The actors never slashed down their remunerations and they signed a bunch of projects in a surprise. Most of the actors are ready with a strong lineup for the next two years. The producers and distributors continued to shell out money for stars.

The theatrical rights for almost all the announced films for the year are sold out which is an example that Tollywood is back to track in just two months. Almost 20 films are set to test their luck in summer and if most of them perform well, Tollywood would have a golden era ahead.

Krack director files a complaint against the producer

2

Krack is racing towards the biggest hit in the career of Ravi Teja and the film brought him back to track. The film’s director Gopichand Malineni is appreciated for his work and he is showered with compliments. Even the film’s leading lady Shruti Haasan is back with a bang with Krack and the film turned out to be a memorable project for many. The film faced financial hurdles and failed to release on day one as planned. But the film received a positive response from the first show of its screening and collected huge money all over.

But the film’s director Gopichand Malineni is not a happy man. Gopichand is yet to receive his full remuneration as promised and he filed a complaint with the Telugu Film Director’s Association. The film’s producer Tagore Madhu failed to respond to the calls of Gopi after which the young director filed a complaint. Tagore Madhu argues that the director did not complete the film in the promised budget because of which the balance amount was not paid.

Even after the film turning a super hit, the issue is not sorted and Krack landed into one more controversy. There are speculations that Krack would be remade in Hindi soon. We have to wait to see how the remuneration issue gets sorted.

Ravi Teja’s Krack digital screening pushed

0

Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja’s recent offering Krack released for Sankranthi and is named as the winner of the season. The official announcement too was made recently.

As per the update, the digital streaming of Krack is postponed by a week for now and will stream from February 5th. Ravi Teja’s performance as a ruthless is winning the hearts of the audience and Shruti Haasan played the heroine’s role.

Producers Council to take a call on Dubbed Releases?

1

Krack producer Tagore Madhu approached the Producer’s Council over the recent theatres issue for his film in Sankranthi season. The film’s Nizam distributor Warangal Srinu alleged that Dil Raju and Sirish ignored Krack and lent their support for other films. An urgent meeting was planned last evening and Krack will get more number of screens from today. But this doesn’t make any difference argued some of the producers and filmmakers as the holiday season came to an end and the film is now running in decent number of screens. We have an industry where openings and first week numbers are very crucial for any film.

There is a debate going on about the dubbing movies getting a major number of screens during the holiday season which is turning out to be a dent for the revenues of Telugu movies. A couple of years ago, there was a huge debate when Rajinikanth’s Petta was announced for Sankranthi 2019 release. Neither the Film Chamber of Commerce or the Producers Council came to a firm stand about the release of the dubbed films during any holiday season. Some of the filmmakers strongly argue that the situations are not the same in Tamil Nadu and they give top priority for Tamil films after which the screens are shared for the films of neighboring languages.

If Vijay’s Master release was pushed in AP and Telangana, all the three Telugu releases Krack, RED and Alludu Adhurs would have minted more money and generated more revenues which is direct or indirect help for Telugu cinema. They would have shared the screens allocated for Master. The active producers and other filmmakers are raising the issue after a conflict arises and it is left in the backseat without finding the best solution. Hope a proper resolution will be locked at the earliest before such issues create tremors in Telugu cinema and among the filmmakers. The governing bodies should form a council to stage a hunt for the right solution. Else, more number of producers and distributors would head for a fight which will not be a great sign for Telugu cinema,

Huge demand for Krack Remake Rights

0

Ravi Teja’s recent offering Krack turned out to be the first blockbuster for Telugu cinema this year. The movie also paved paths for several Tollywood releases after the pandemic season. Ravi Teja’s packed performance as a ruthless cop and Gopichand Malineni’s direction along with the action stunts and the background score received exceptional response from the audience. There are a lot of speculations about the Hindi remake of Krack.

Couple of top Bollywood production houses approached Tagore Madhu recently and the deal is yet to be closed. Some of the media houses speculated that Akshay Kumar may reprise the role of Ravi Teja in the film and a section speculated that Sonu Sood is the frontrunner in the race. The film’s director Gopichand Malineni during his interview made it clear that he would direct the film in Hindi too. There are a couple of interesting deals for the Tamil remake rights of Krack. Tagore Madhu will take the call on these deals in the coming weeks and he is not in a hurry considering the huge demand for the remake rights of the film.

Shocker: Ravi Teja’s Krack to stream on Aha

0

Ravi Teja’s latest offering Krack is a blockbuster at the Tollywood box-office and the film dominated all the Sankranthi releases. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, Krack is running with packed houses across the Telugu states. Telugu digital platform Aha sealed their biggest ever digital deal and they acquired the digital streaming rights of Krack for a price of Rs 6.5 crores.

The biggest shock comes here as Krack will start streaming on Aha from January 29th before the theatrical run ends. An official announcement about the same would be made next week. Though the Tollywood producers wanted a healthy gap between the theatrical and digital release for Telugu movies, Krack would stream soon in less than a month of its theatrical release. This would even hamper the theatrical run for the coming week in Telugu states as the audience will not head to theatres when they have the digital streaming ready.

Ravi Teja’s Krack to have a sequel?

0

Mass Raja Ravi Teja is quite delighted as he is back to success track after years. His latest movie Krack that released recently is raking massive money at the box-office and the response has been unanimous. This is the third time Ravi Teja and Gopichand Malineni collaborated after Don Seenu and Balupu. During the end titles, the makers of the film hinted at a sequel for Krack.

As per the update, the project will happen sometime next year once Ravi Teja completes his current projects. Gopichand Malineni too has a couple of other commitments and will focus on Krack 2 once he is done with these projects. An official announcement would be made at a later date once the scriptwork is completed. As of now, Ravi Teja is keen to work with Gopichand Malineni again.

Krack clears paths for Gopichand Malineni

0

Young director Gopichand Malineni delivered two impressive films Don Seenu and Balupu but his recent offerings failed to impress the audience. His recent offering Krack carried decent expectations and lived up to the expectations of the audience. Krack even marks the comeback of Mass Raja Ravi Teja who has been struggling for success. The film had a fantastic Sunday and it is expected to rake huge money during the Sankranthi season.

Mythri Movie Makers paid an advance for Gopichand Malineni and the young director already narrated a plot to Nandamuri Balakrishna recently. The project is currently on and will be finalized very soon. The makers are holding talks and Gopichand will complete the scriptwork soon. The project is expected to roll once Balakrishna is done with the shoot of Boyapati Sreenu’s film.

Last-minute financial hurdles stall Krack Release

0

Mass Raja Ravi Teja’s upcoming movie Krack is carrying decent expectations and is planned for a wide release today. The film is caught in financial hurdles because of the past track record of producer Tagore Madhu. The morning shows along with the USA premieres are canceled. Tagore Madhu owes Rs 6 crores to a Tamil producer and a Chennai court issued an injunction order for the film’s release. Krishna distributor Alankar Prasad approached the Film Chamber to get the pending dues.

One more Tollywood financier is yet to get his dues for the lent finance for Krack. There are talks that the issues may get cleared by the afternoon. The movie was expected to open with a bang across the Telugu states but will miss the morning show numbers. Gopichand Malineni directed Krack and Ravi Teja, Shruti Haasan are the lead actors in Krack. Tagore Madhu produced Krack which is a mass entertainer.

Krack turns a crucial bet for Ravi Teja

0

Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja did not taste a hit in the recent years. He was criticized for his poor script selection and there are talks that the veteran actor was focused on a fat paycheque instead of signing interesting flicks. Ravi Teja is testing his luck with Krack, an out and out mass entertainer that is directed by Gopichand Malineni. The film is high on expectations and Ravi Teja is pretty confident on the product. Ravi Teja has been demanding close to Rs 12 crores as remuneration but none of his recent films collected close to Rs 10 crores in their theatrical run.

Krack would be a crucial bet for the actor and Ravi Teja should prove himself with this film for sure if he wants to meet his demands. Several filmmakers are in waiting mode and they are eager to see the performance of Krack at the box-office. Directors like Anil Ravipudi are quite interested to work with Ravi Teja once again and this would turn true if Krack ends up as a money spinner. If Ravi Teja delivers one more flop with Krack, most of the filmmakers would stage their hunt for other actors instead of paying a bomb for Ravi Teja. On the whole, Krack is a crucial film in Ravi Teja’s career.

Sankranthi 2021: Tollywood theatres to get a boost

1

When the Centre did not grant 100 percent occupancy for theatres, the government of Tamil Nadu recently announced that the theatres and multiplexes across the state can screen movies with 100 percent occupancy. The producers of Telugu states urged the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to grant 100 percent occupancy permission during the crucial Sankranthi season. The decision is pending and there are several debates going on.

Ravi Teja’s Krack, Vijay’s Master, Ram’s RED and Bellamkonda Sreenivas’ Alludu Adhurs are the films hitting the screens for Sankranthi. The governments of Telugu states are ready to grant permission for screening extra shows during the holiday season and the discussion about the ticket hike is already on. Even if the 100 percent occupancy permission is not granted, extra shows and ticket hike would help the distributors and producers rake decent profits for their Sankranthi bets. These orders are expected to be issued before this weekend.

Krack Trailer: Ultra Mass Overloaded!

0

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja and director Gopichand Malineni have teamed up for the third time and it’s ‘Krack.’ The trailer of the film is out as a New Year special.

Begins with the voice-over of victory Venkatesh, it shows a 50 Rs note and a raw mango tucked to the road by a nail. This has link with three people who hail from Ongole and they were disturbed by a powerful police officer named Potharaju Veera Shankar aka Ravi Teja.

Shankar is fearless and doesn’t tolerate injustice. He takes on anyone how big they may be and crushes them. Ravi Teja plays a serious role after a long time and he fits in the role effortlessly.

“Ongole Nadi Road Meedha Nagnaga Nelabetti Nava Randrallo Seesam Postha Na Kodaka,” utters Ravi Teja and that’s about his role.

The trailer has many such mass dialogues and the visuals are fully loaded with ultra-mass elements. Thaman’s BGM is arresting to the racy visuals and cinematography is neat.

Shruti Haasan plays the female lead while Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Samuthirakani form the supporting cast.

Produced by Tagore Madhu, productions values are very rich and it’s like a packed festival entertainer.

Korameesam Polisoda song: Soothing Melody

0

It’s Christmas and the makers of ‘Krack’ have delighted the music lovers with the third single from the music album. The song is ‘Korameesam Polisoda’ and here is it streams out.

This is a slow and romantic number and it’s all about Ravi Teja and Shruti Haasan’s beautiful relation. They are a married couple who are very happy with each other and thoroughly enjoy their moments.

Shruti sizzles in a saree and she displays her elegance while Ravi Teja sports casuals and khakee uniform. His slight beard and handle bar moustache’s look perfectly fit in the song’s nature.

Special mention to the lyrics by Ramajogayya Sastry which are completely in Telugu and the vocals by Ramya Behra are just soothing to ears.

Thaman has done it again by delivering a lovely melody and the song will certainly give a repeated hum.

Director Gopichand Malineni captures superb moments while cinematography by Vishnu is decent to the aesthetic visuals.
