It’s been years to see Manchu Mohan Babu in the lead role. In recent times, the actor is doing important roles in selective films. He was seen in Mahanati and also in Akasame Neehaddura. In between, he was into politics. He was with YSRCP and nothing worked out. Collection King is staying far from doing lead roles after a few disasters. But the actor is now writing a story and he is also planning to direct it.
Mohan Babu says that the film is going to remind his blockbusters Assembly Rowdy and Rayalaseema Ramanna Chowdary with the vintage mass content. Dialogue king is going to strike hard this time and going to test his luck. But in recent times all Manchu family movies are turning out to be duds and we have to see how far this movie will fetch the audience to theatres.
Mohan Babu gets shocker from OTT platforms
Veteran actor Mohan Babu is all set to release his new film Son of India. However the movie unit got shocker from OTT platforms. Details as follows.
Son of India movie has star cast like Mohan Babu, Akhanda fame Pragya Jaiswal. It is produced by Manchu Vishnu and the screenplay of the film is provided by Mohan Babu himself. Music is provided by Ilayaraja. The makers wanted to finalise the deal with OTT but as per the reports, none of the OTT platforms showed any interest in buying this movie. The movie shooting started long back but the release of the film is delayed. While OTT platforms cited the reason for not being interested in this movie as delay in the shoot , it seems the audience as well as OTTs are not interested in this movie from day 1. It is known news that Mohan Babu doesn’t have a hit as solo hero though his performance is appreciated in character artist roles. Moreover, Manchu Vishnu’s last movie Mosagallu was a nightmare to the audience as well as the OTT platforms. Several memes were circulated asking who at Amazon made decision to buy this movie.
With no OTT platform showing interest in this movie, Manchu family decided to release the movie in theatres on 18th February. We need to wait and see whether Mohan Babu will be able to score hit as solo hero this time.
Mohan Babu’s ‘Son Of India’ to hit the screens on Feb 18
Senior actor Mohan Babu on Wednesday took to his social media handle to announce that his upcoming emotional drama ‘Son Of India’ is all set to hit the screens on February 18.
Making an official announcement, Mohan Babu wrote, “Patriotism in his blood #SonofIndia. Grand Release in Theaters on 18th February. Maestro #Ilaiyaraaja Musical on @adityamusic. Proudly produced by @iVishnuManchun & Directed by @ratnababuwriter.”
‘Son Of India’ is in the final leg of its making, while the makers are eyeing to wrap up the post-production formalities soon. Being a patriotic film, it is expected that the movie has intense emotions imbibed in it, while the dialogues are billed to be hard-hitting.
Directed by Diamond Ratna Babu, the movie stars Mohan Babu and Pragya Jaiswal in the lead roles.
Interestingly, Mohan Babu’s dear friend Tollywood star Chiranjeevi has lent his voice for the teaser, which was released a few months ago.
Mohan Babu’s son, actor Vishnu Manchu, is bankrolling the venture, while Mohan Babu’s daughter-in-law and Vishnu’s wife Veronica have provided the costumes for Mohan Babu in this movie. While Maestro Illayaraja has composed the music, 24 Frames Factory and Sree Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures are jointly bankrolling the movie.
Mohan Babu announces Mohan Babu University
Veteran actor Mohan Babu served Tollywood for five decades as an actor and he has been a businessman and Educationalist. He turned a helping hand and offered free education through Sree Vidyanikethan for many from the past three decades. Mohan Babu announced that Sree Vidyanikethan turned out into Mohan Babu University. Located in Tirupati, Mohan Babu University will start operations very soon.

Mohan Babu’s open letter to Tollywood: Industry is not about 4 heroes, producers!
Veteran actor, producer Manchu Mohanbabu on Sunday (today) wrote an open letter to Tollywood film industry. In his letter Mohababu categorically stated that Telugu film industry is not about just four heroes or four producers or four distributors.
Mohanbabu said Telugu film industry comprises 24 crafts and it belongs to all those who work in these 24 crafts. Unfortunately, few Tollywood personalities have turned Telugu film industry as an industry that belonged to just four heroes, four producers and four exhibitors.
Mohanbabu gave a call to the entire film industry to join hands and meet Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana unitedly, to take up the issues concerning Tollywood industry and seek resolution to the problems being faced by Tollywood at present.
“Telugu film industry means hopes and aspirations of thousands of people working in this industry. It also means thousands of families who are dependent on this industry for their livelihood. First, we all should meet at one place to discuss on problems and solutions of film industry. Then we should meet unitedly the CMs of Telugu States and take these issues to their notice and seek redressal of our problems. But unfortunately, only four heroes or four producers are meeting CMs on their own without consulting anyone in the industry saying that the CMs permitted only four to come and meet them. This is not correct. This will lead nowhere. I am telling this with my 47 years of vast experience in the Telugu film industry,” Mohanbabu elaborated in his letter.
Mohanbabu further stated that no one is small or no one is big in film industry. All are equal and everyone has their own importance. There is no monopoly here. If small producers were also taken into confidence and they were made part of meetings with CMs, then the problems that we are facing today would not have arisen.
There may be different persons with different political affiliations in the film industry. But everyone should respect the CMs who were elected by the people. Did we do that? We should respect, meet them and bring our issues to their notice and seek resolution of our problems. When I was MAA president, I took everyone along and met then AP CM YS Rajasekhar Reddy and sought his help to check piracy. YSR immediately responded and took strong measures to check piracy. That should be the spirit, said Mohanbabu in his letter.
NBK, Mohan Babu entertain in Unstoppable promo
With just few days left for the premiere of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Unstoppable with NBK, a talk show to be streamed on Aha Telugu platform from November 4 as Deepavali delight, its makers have released the promo of the first episode.
It features veteran actor Mohan Babu sharing some untold and best kept secrets in conversation with Balayya. Mohan Babu too poses a few questions to NBK, to which the Nandamuri actor responds.
Both talk politics, cinema and other topics. Another highlight of the show is the appearance of Lakshmi Manchu and Manchu Vishnu, daughter and son of Mohan Babu, respectively.
The unique show will be very intersting and many celebrities are being invited to be part of it. While they will share their experiences with NBK, the actor’s side which is full of swag and fun will be revealed in the show.

Is Mohan Babu moving away from the YSRCP?
Though he considers himself non-political, actor Mohan Babu is closely linked to politics. He had in the past worked for the TDP and the BJP. His last political foray was in the YSRCP. In the 2019 elections, he has campaigned for the YSRCP. In fact, he had even staged a dharna slamming Chandrababu Naidu over non-payment of fee reimbursement.
But if one looks at his recent comments in the “Open Heart With RK” in ABN Andhra Jyothi, it becomes clear that he is not happy with the way things are happening in the YSRCP. He indirectly indicated that he could not get the TTD trust board chairperson post. He said it was the prerogative of the chief minister. He gave the post to his close relative, he remarked. At the same time, his unhappiness with the fee reimbursement appears to continue.
However, Mohan Babu was careful when he stopped short of blaming YS Jagan Mohan for this. He said some officials were misleading the government. He said because of this misleading advice, the higher education is suffering. He said he has indicated his opposition He said that the government had taken a decision and that the decision was not to his liking.
While Mohan Babu was quite careful with his words and did not openly show any defiance of Jagan Mohan Reddy, he did indicate his dissatisfaction with the AP government. At the same time, he did not also reveal whether he would campaign for any other political party in the next elections.
Mohan Babu responds to Pawan Kalyan’s statements
Taking the pre-release event of Sai Tej’s Republic as the needed stage, Pawan Kalyan made sensational comments on AP government which has issued a new ticket rate GO and is in plans to start a ticketing portal. He also addressed some of the actors and questioned them why they are unable to take the challenges to the notice of AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy. He said that Mohan Babu is close to YS Jagan’s family and questioned why he could not meet YS Jagan and discuss the issue with him.
Mohan Babu today issued a press statement saying that his son Manchu Vishnu is contesting in the MAA Elections and he would respond and discuss about the issues after the completion of the elections. He also asked Pawan Kalyan to vote for Manchu Vishnu in the MAA Elections. Ever since the AP Government announced a movie ticketing portal, there are mixed responses from the celebrities. Megastar Chiranjeevi along with several actors planned to meet YS Jagan but they were denied an appointment.
Mohan Babu lodges cyber complaint on trollers
Senior actor Mohan Babu today lodged a cyber complaint with the Hyderabad Cybercrime police on the trollers. In the complaint, he wrote that, some persons are posting trolling videos on social media against him. Details as follows.
As per the complaint of Mohan Babu, some people have intentionally made some objectionable videos on him and uploaded them on social media. Reportedly, obscene language and vulgar words are used against him and his family members in those videos. Mohan Babu’s legal advisor also submitted evidences of those videos to the police.
Police have booked case against the trollers under sections 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code and also under IT Act. We need to wait for further updates.
Megastar coming for Mohan Babu
