Weekend Box-office: DJ Tillu dominates Khiladi

Ravi Teja’s Khiladi, DJ Tillu, FIR and Sehari are the films that tested their luck on Friday. Khiladi surprised everyone with the low openings. The word of mouth is negative and the film dropped down badly on Saturday. The Sunday numbers for Khiladi across the Telugu states are ok. Considering the economics involved, Khiladi will end up as a disaster for Ravi Teja. DJ Tillu is one small film that is targeted at youth. The film opened with a bang all over.

DJ Tillu reported big numbers on Sunday though the response is average. Considering the budget and the theatrical deals, DJ Tillu will end up as a box-office hit in its final run. Other films Sehari and FIR failed to report minimum numbers over the weekend. DJ Tillu dominated the weekend all over. With no major releases over the coming weekend, DJ Tillu is expected to end up as a decent hit across the Telugu states. The film also opened well in USA and other international markets.

Ravi Teja and team wrap up second schedule of ‘Ravanasura’

Telugu actor Ravi Teja and director Sudheer Varma have come together for the interesting action thriller ‘Ravanasura’. The team has now wrapped up the second shooting schedule as the gear ups for release.

Ravi Teja, Sushanth, Daksha Nagarkar, and others had taken part in the schedule, which was completed on Sunday. The makers made an announcement on the same, as they released a picture from the sets of ‘Ravanasura’.

In the picture are Ravi Teja, Sushanth, Daksha Nagarkar, director Sudheer Varma, writer Srikanth Vissa, producer Abhishek Nama and cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan.

It is reported that the next schedule will be shot at the same pace, as the makers are soon going to take the movie to the next phase in post-production.

‘Ravanasura’ is an action-thriller, with Ravi Teja in a role like never before. Also, the movie will have five female leads opposite Ravi Teja.

Anu Emmanuel, Megha Akash, Faria Abdullah, Daksha Nagarkar, and Poojitha Ponnada are playing the female leads in this upcoming Sudheer Varma’s directorial.

Ravi Teja will be seen as a lawyer, while actor Sushanth will be seen in a dynamic role in ‘Ravanasura’.

Khiladi has taken a poor opening in the Telugu States as the film has collected a distributor share of 3.60 Cr. Theatrical rights of the film are valued at 22 cr in telugu states and the wom is poor for the film. The opening numbers are very low that they are even lesser then Touch chesi chudu (4.20 Cr) which was a 2018 release. Poorest opening for the film came in Nizam with 1.2 cr share.

It is clear that Ravi Teja is not happy with the director and producer of Khiladi. He attended the pre-release event of the film last night and Ravi Teja’s speech is packed with satires. Ravi Teja was not comfortable throughout the event and there are various reasons behind it. He took a direct dig on Khiladi director Ramesh Varma. “I believe mostly in hard work and less on luck. But Ramesh Varma is one director who banked mostly on luck. Srikanth Vissa is the first reason for accepting a script like Khiladi” told Ravi Teja.

When it comes to the producer, he said “I have a request for you sir. You have to focus on everything by spending more time on the sets. You will come to know about many things if you are present on the sets. You are not aware of many things”. He stressed so much by naming Srikanth Vissa as the reason for signing the film. He never appreciated the work of Ramesh Varma during his speech. Khiladi is hitting the screens on February 11th. Meenakshi Chaudhary and Dimple Hayati are the leading ladies.

Inside Story: Ravi Teja’s tiff with Khiladi makers

Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja’s next film Khiladi is hitting the screens this week but the actor is not present in the promotional activities. The film’s leading ladies Meenakshi Chaudhary and Dimple Hayati are promoting the film. Ravi Teja’s fans are surprised about the absence of the actor as he usually promotes his films aggressively. Khiladi was planned to be completed in 90 days but the film got completed in 140 working days. The two waves of the pandemic heaped up the budget and increased the working days says the producer and director.

Ravi Teja wanted an extra paycheque for the extra working days and he was strict on his stand. The remuneration of Rs 2.5 crores is pending for the actor and the makers agreed to pay the amount after the release. The film is made on a budget close to Rs 60 crores and the total theatrical, non-theatrical deals failed to recover the budget. Without recovering the budget, the makers are reluctant to pay the extra remuneration for Ravi Teja. The actor is not in a mood to promote the film without receiving the paycheque.

Khiladi was signed even before the release of Krack and Ravi Teja was struggling with flops. The makers spent lavishly on the film and they never compromised on the making. The entire film industry is left in stress and financial crisis. Instead of understanding the pain of the producers, Ravi Teja is demanding more and his move of staying away from promotions is impacting the film. Hope he resolves the tiff and promotes the film.

Ramesh Varma directed Khiladi and Koneru Satyanarayana is the producer. Khiladi is hitting the screens on February 11th.

It is hardly a week for the release of Ravi Teja’s upcoming movie Khiladi which is announced for February 11th release. Some of the songs received positive response from the audience. The interviews are recorded for now. The theatrical and non-theatrical rights of Khiladi are sold out. Though several biggies announced the new release dates of their films, the filmmakers are worried about the ticket pricing GO in Andhra Pradesh. Though the cases of coronavirus are coming down, the night curfew is yet to be lifted. 50 percent occupancy is not a barrier for the month of February as there are no biggies releases except Ravi Teja’s Khiladi. The makers of Khiladi sold off the theatrical rights for huge prices and the film will hit the screens only after the night curfews are lifted in the state. The film may not hit the screens on February 11th as per the new update.

The AP Government is expected to submit a detailed report to the AP High Court on February 10th and the Committee met recently and discussed the issue with the distributors and exhibitors. All eyes are now focused on the issue and the film industry is expecting a positive move from the government. Telangana government allowed flexible ticket pricing and the filmmakers are expecting a similar decision from the AP government. If not so, the distributors and producers are expecting a price hike for the tickets.

The AP High Court canceled GO 35 but the AP government sought more time and formed a Committee. A clarity on this is expected soon.

“First day!! #RAVANASURA… Supperr excited,” posted the ‘Kick’ actor on his social media account along with a selfie.

Billed to be a unique action thriller, some important scenes for the movie are to be canned in this schedule. Actors Sushanth, Faria Abdullah and others will be shooting along with Ravi Teja.

Apart from Ravi Teja, actress Faria Abdullah, director Sudheer Varma, producer Abhishek Nama, writer Srikanth Vissa and cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan are seen in the pictures shared by the team.

Two new release dates announced for Ramarao On Duty

Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja is completing films at a faster pace. His upcoming movie Khiladi will hit the screens on February 11th. The actor is almost done with the shoot of his next film Ramarao On Duty. The makers today announced that the film will hit the screens on March 25th or April 15th. Sarat Mandava is the director and Divyansha Kaushik, Rajisha Vijayan are the leading ladies in Ramarao On Duty.

“We love our film. At the same time, we have immense respect on other films. We slated Ramarao On Duty for release on 25th March 2022 but due to latest developments, we intend to release our film either on 25th March 2022 or 15th April 2022” told the official statement from the makers. Sudhakar Cherukuri’s SLV Cinemas are the producers and Sam CS is the music director. Ravi Teja is also shooting for Dhamaka and Narakasura which will release later this year.

Claiming that the rights of his Telugu action entertainer ‘Khiladi’, featuring actors Ravi Teja, Dimple Hayathi and Meenakshi Chaudhary in the lead, had all been sold out, director Ramesh Verma Penmetsa has said that the film would release on February 11.

Taking to Twitter, Ramesh said: “‘Khiladi’ rights have been sold out like a hot cake. Happy about the positive vibes the film has generated. ‘Khiladi’ will reach the audience on February 11, 2022.”

The film has triggered huge expectations which is evident from the resounding welcome a single released from the film recently got. Titled ‘Full Kick’, the number sung by Sagar and Mamta Sharma, was released on Republic Day. The video has so garnered a whopping 4.4 millions views in a matter of just three days.

The makers of the film have also announced that they would be releasing the character poster of one lead artiste of ‘Khiladi’ every day, starting from Saturday.

Ramesh tweeted: “The Character – Lead posters of other lead cast of #Khiladi will arrive one every day starting from today! Stay tuned.”

Ravi Teja-led action thriller ‘Ravanasura’ to hit screens on Sept 30

Tollywood actor Ravi Teja’s fans had one more reason to celebrate Sankranti with greater fervour, with the ‘Mass Maharaja’ of the Telugu film industry announcing the launch of ‘Narakasura’, his 70th movie, on Friday.

The Sudheer Varma directorial was launched in the presence of Mega Star Chiranjeevi, who did the honours by clapping for the inaugural shot. The film is slated to hit the screens on September 30 this year.

The first look of the movie, showing Ravi Teja in a smouldering avatar, is already sending netizens into a tizzy.

Work on the film began with a pooja on the auspicious occasion of Makara Sankranti. Sources close to the unit say that full- fledged shooting will begin later this month.

Actress Anu Emmanuel, who is a part of the film, attended the pooja. Sharing pictures of herself at the pooja, Emmanuel simply said, “My next in Telugu, ‘Ravanasura’.”

Ravi Teja also shared his excitement on social media. Others on the star cast include Faria Abdullah, Daksha Nagarkar and Megha Akash.

Produced by Abhishek Nama, the film has dialogues by Srikanth Vissa and Vijay Karthik Kannan is behind the camera. Music for the film is to be scored by Harshvardhan Rameshwar and Bheems Ceciroled.
