Why does Jagan government dreads August 1

First of August… the AP government is dreading the very mention of this word. By this date, the AP Government needs at least Rs 10000 crore to pay the salaries of the employees, pensions of the retirees, and payment of various welfare pensions., besides making arrangements for daily expenditure of the government. The government might somehow or the other arrange for the welfare pensions. But, is there a guarantee that the government employees and pensioners will get their salaries and pensions on August 1?

The only way the government can pay the salaries is by taking an overdraft. But, the government has already taken an overdraft and now has no other way of borrowings. According to the directions of the 15th finance commission, the AP government has already overshot its borrowing limit.

This only means that the employees and pensioners may have to wait for some more days to get their salaries.. According to the 15th finance commission, the state government cannot borrow beyond Rs 4872 crore. This means it has already borrowed more than this amount. The state government may win accolades for the welfare schemes, but the governance is going down the drain under YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

No attempt is made to mop up additional revenue and increase its sources of income. The AP Government is doing neither. At the same time, its welfare expenditure is hitting through the roof. As a result, the state appears to be heading for a financial doom. How long will Jagan keep on spending Rs 10000 crore every month without hiking taxes? What will be the public reaction if he hikes the taxes.

Jagan misusing SC, ST Atrocities Act, alleges TDP

1

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and former minister Nakka Anand Babu on Thursday advised Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy-led Andhra Pradesh government to refrain from alleged rampant misuse of the SC, ST Atrocities Act for political vendetta.

He claimed that the government is using this legal provision to suppress the principal opposition party and all the dissenting voices in the state.

“Jagan regime was indeed hatching a conspiracy to get the atrocities law revoked at the national level. Already, the Supreme Court received petitions about the political misuse of this law by the ruling Governments across the country,” said Babu.

The TDP leader asserted that the Supreme Court could take a serious view of the alleged ongoing indiscriminate misuse of the SC/ST law.

He questioned whether the government was making a mockery of the SC/ST law by applying it on former minister and TDP leader Devineni Uma Maheshwar Rao.

“CM was not just getting cases filed against the political opponents but he was also getting them jailed,” he alleged.

According to Babu, Reddy ‘opened a dark chapter in the history of the country’ by allegedly getting SC, ST atrocities cases filed against Dalit victims as well.

He demanded an explanation from the Chief Minister as to why he was allegedly misusing the laws created to safeguard Dalits for political and personal victimization.

“The atrocities law was brought in to ensure prevention of atrocities against Dalits. The CM has been openly misusing this law. The Dalit officers were being used to perpetrate political harassment,” he alleged.

He claimed that Reddy came to power with Dalit votes but he was allegedly using them to create chaos in the state.

Babu noted that Dalits were facing unprecedented attacks and victimization ever since Reddy came to power.

“For just opposing sand mafia activities, Dalit youth Vara Prasad was tonsured and humiliated in East Godavari. SC, ST cases were filed against Dalit farmers in Amaravati and they were sent to jail for 20 days. They were handcuffed by the AP police,” he alleged.

Babu made these remarks in the light of the police arresting Rao for allegedly attacking YSRCP leaders.

Jagan transfers Rs 693cr to mothers of students!

1

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy today (Thursday) transferred Rs 694 crore to the bank accounts of mothers of students under Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme.

Jagan government is paying Rs 20,000 to each student per year to pursue degree and engineering courses in AP.

The government released first installment of Rs 671crore in April this year.

Second installment was released today.

Third installment will be released in December and last installment in February 2022.

Jagan said despite severe financial crisis due to Covid, he is committed to implement these welfare schemes for the benefit of poor.

Jagan said poverty can be overcome only through education and his government will ensure higher education for free for poor students in AP.

Vested interests behind ‘excess borrowing’ narrative: Andhra

In wake of criticism over the state’s alleged excess borrowing, the Andhra Pradesh government on Wednesday accused “vested interests” of carrying out a “misinformation campaign”.

“This is essentially to tarnish the image of the state and thereby cripple the state financially to reap political gains,” an official statement said.

According to the YSRCP government, attempts are being made to create widespread concern amongst the Reserve Bank of India, the Central government, banks and financial institutions, Parliament and the public.

“Did all the liabilities of AP government rise exclusively by the actions of the current government.

“Absolutely not! The erstwhile state of AP was bifurcated in 2014 and this has resulted in the economic deprivation of the state of AP,” it said in the statement.

The government said per capita revenue of Rs 8,979 for Andhra, compared to Telangana’s Rs 15,454 at the end of the first full financial year post bifurcation in 2015-16, is telling of the southern state’s distress.

“Further, all the commitments made to the state on the occasion of the bifurcation have not yet been fulfilled,” it noted.

It pointed a finger at the alleged extravagance of the previous Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government.

“Added to this problem, the misgovernance and expenditure profligacy of the TDP government has resulted in the undue swelling of the liabilities of the state of AP,” it claimed

It said the combined debt of united Andhra Pradesh assigned to the successor state at the time of bifurcation was Rs 97,123 crore, which rose to Rs 1.2 lakh crore on adding the public account share.

“The same has over the five years (2014-19) increased to Rs 2.68 lakh crore. The story does not end here,” it added.

On Monday, BJP Rajya Sabha member G.V.L. Narasimha Rao said he met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and discussed the “excessive borrowing” by the state government in violation of financial norms.

Modi targets Jagan’s schemes

2

Here’s another Modi shocker to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Modi’s latest diktat has barred the state governments from using the Central funds only for the scheme or benefit intended. The funds cannt be transferred to another account and adjust the amounts later. This means that the state governments cannot use the funds meant for one scheme for implementing another scheme or programme.

This is sure to rankle YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Till now, his government has been diverting the Central funds meant for Central government schemes and use them for state-run schemes. Later, adjustments would be made in the account books. But, the Modi government’s latest decision has disallowed it. Now, the funds meant for a central government scheme should be spent only for the scheme intended. This would effectively put a check on the state governments. They will have to find financial resources for their own flagship schemes. Interestingly, as many as 20 state governments have given their nod for this new system. AP is yet to give its nod.

According to the latest decision of the Central government, it would initially give only 25 per cent of the funds. The remaining funds would be released only after the state government adds its share of 50 per cent and spend the amount. If the money is not spent, the remaining amounts would not be released. The latest decision will put a huge question mark on the continuance of some of AP Government’s schemes. The State will have to mobilize its own resources for its schemes.
It now remains to be seen how YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government mobilizes funds and continues its schemes. The government might be forced to levy more taxes on the people to support its Navaratna schemes, which are already draining the state’s economy. With the Centre tightening its fist, will it be possible to continue these schemes?

Road contractors humiliate Jagan govt!

0

The YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh led by Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has pushed the state into bankruptcy since coming to power two years ago in May 2019.

Jagan’s cash dole out schemes in the name of Navaratnalu to consolidate his party’s vote bank has pushed AP into debt trap.

Hardly a day passes for Jagan government without taking loans to make payments.

Against this backdrop, everyone lost confidence on Jagan government that it will pay bills for works done by contractors.

The Jagan government issued tenders recently to repair roads lying in worst condition in AP for the last two years. But no contractor is coming forward to take up works fearing that Jagan government has no money to pay bills.

Contractors are insulting Jagan government by asking bank guarantee for payment of bills.

Contractors insist that Jagan government take loans from banks and banks release funds to them directly as they have no confidence that Jagan government will pay if banks release funds to state government.

Officials say this amounts to contractors humiliating Jagan government as bankrupt government because no where in the country banks pay directly to contractors.

Is this why Jagan is not carving out new districts?

0

Andhra Pradesh is in the throes of a deep economic crisis. Even paying the monthly salaries of the government employees has become a huge problem. Implementing the flagship welfare programmes has become a major challenge for YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Every month, the state government is going with a begging bowl even for paying the salaries of the employees.

Given this situation, how will the government of YS Jagan implement its other election time and Padayatra time promises? During the Praja Sankalpa Yatra, YS Jagan had repeatedly said that he would constitute several new districts for better administrative control. He said that this move will bring the government closer to the people. Soon after coming to power, he began holding consultations with senior officers, district incharge ministers and district collectors. He had even constituted a committee under the leadership of the then CS and current election commissioner Neelam Sahni.

However, the financial problems have made him go slow on this. Sources said that the Telangnana experience has mellowed him down. In Telangana, providing quarters, building and other infrastructural facilities has turned out to be a huge burden. Provision of vehicles too was a problem. The administration is also unable to allocate IAS officers for managing the affairs in the newly carved out districts. It is being said that Jagan now has second thoughts over this.

But, YS Jagan is also said to be worried about the political fallout of not carving out the new districts. The consultations and the committee formation on this issue have raised hopes among the people and have hiked the land prices in the proposed district districts. If Jagan backtracks on this issue, there could be public outcry over this. So, this issue of devolution has become something of being caught between the devil and the deepsea.

High Court chides YS Jagan on appointing advisors , what will he do next?

1

The issue of appointing an unusually large number of advisors to the Andhra Pradesh Government has now become controversial. There are over 41 such advisors to CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on various issues and different sectors. Though the other governments too have their own set of advisors, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Government has appointed a large number of advisors.

While there is no way of knowing what YS Jagan is doing with these advices and also whether these advisors are proffering any advice at all, each of these advisors have swanky offices with fully furnished facilities, staff and attendants. The salary of each advisor is said to be around Rs 2 lakh. These advisors are functioning from Hyderabad, Delhi, Vijayawada, Amaravati and even Visakhapatnam.

For instance, a media advisor of YS Jagan is functioning from New Delhi. He is also found making political comments. Jagan has an NRI affairs advisor, who has never toured a country in the past two years. He functions from both Hyderabad and Vijayawada and has two offices. Jagan’s political advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has a political responsibility as he is a party functionary too.

Given these, the AP High Court took a serious view of appointing so many adviors at a time when the state government is facing severe fund crunch and is finding it difficult to pay even the salaries of its employees. Now that the High Court has severely reprimanded the Government, will there be a change of attitude? Let’s wait and see.

0

AP schools, including under ‘Nadu-Nedu’ scheme, to open on Aug 16

1

Schools in Andhra Pradesh will reopen on August 16 and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will dedicate schools, renovated under the ‘Nadu-Nedu’ scheme, on the same day to the people of the state.

Reddy held a review meeting at his camp office on Friday to discuss the ‘Nadu-Nedu’, the New Education Policy (NEP) and the Vidya Kanuka scheme.

He will launch the second phase of the school renovation scheme on August 16 itself, coinciding with the provision of Jaganna Vidya Kanuka kits as well.

Reddy directed officials to complete classifying schools according to the NEP by August 16, which entails six kinds of schools from PP-1 to Class 12.

Satellite foundation schools will offer PP-1 and PP-2. Foundation schools will offer both PP-1, PP-2, and Classes 1 and 2, foundation-plus schools will offer classes up to Class 5, pre-high schools up to Class 7, high schools from Class 3 to 10, and high school plus from Class 3 to 12.

“English medium will be started from Anganwadis, which will be transformed into satellite foundation schools and shall be guided by foundation schools to ensure best teaching available. The foundation school will be set up within a kilometer radius and high school in a three-kilometer radius,” the CM said.

According to him, there will be no school beyond 3 km radius to bring down travel distance to the school.

To make the best use of teachers under NEP, teachers with B. Ed and post graduate qualifications will be teaching 18 subjects up to Class 5 for students to learn with focus.

How YS Bharathi emerged as Jagan’s non-political advisor

2

Diminutive and low profile to a fault, but YS Bharathi is slowly but surely rising up the ranks in the YSRCP’s inner circles. She is now said to be fast emerging as the non-political advisor to CM YS Jagan. Bharathi, who always stayed away from the arc lights and public glare unlike the other women members of the YSR family, has now emerged as a key player in the family.

After Jagan came to power in 2019, several key members of the YS family hoped to garner important positions in the Jagan’s internal hierarchy. However, Jagan kept Sharmila and her husband Anil Kumar at a distance. Similarly, Jagan’s aunt, who was linked to several left-of-the-centre NGOs, was also not given any key post in the party. Similarly, Jagan’s cousins Ragdeep Reddy and his sister too were confined to handling YSRCP fans abroad. Beyond that, they were not allowed into the inner coterie.

Jagan’s cousin Divya Reddy had handled YSRCP social media for several years before 2019. In fact, she was asked to handle the digital wing of the Sakshi group. Soon after Jagan came to power, she hoped to be given a suitable position in the governance. But, even she was kept at an arm’s length.

Now that a sulking Sharmila has formed her own party and chose Telangana as her area of action, even mother Vijayamma clearly veered towards daughter dear. Due to all these, only YS Bharathi remained close to Jagan. As a result, she is now the only advisor from within the family. With Jagan cases back into focus again, there are reports that in the event of his going to jail once again. If this becomes a reality, Bharathi could act as the CM till he comes back, say political pundits. They say that she would be guided by Jagan’s advisors in the event of YS Jagan facing an adverse situation.

Father opposes, but sons support Jagan

1

Kadapa politics is witnessing a strange situation. The father is a staunch opponent of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his style of politics and governance. But his two sons are ardent Jagan supporters and even hold key responsibilities in his government.

Senior leader and former minister MV Mysoora Reddy is a bitter critic of YS Jagan government. But his brother Venkata Subba Reddy’s son Dr M Sudheer Kumar Reddy is an MLA from Jammalamadugu, while Mysoora’s son Harshavardhan Reddy is the sarpanch Yarraguntla. It is an open secret that YS Jagan gives a lot of importance to both Harshavardhan and Sudheer Reddy. Both have differed with their father on the issue of criticism of YS Jagan.

Interestingly, Mysoora has been criticizing YS Jagan on several issues and has slammed him on the issue of water dispute between Telangana and AP. He has even taken to social media to present his viewpoint on the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Scheme. He had even addressed a press conference in Hyderabad on the issue. He has also questioned the wisdom of YS Jagan government in handing over the control of water resources to the Krishna River Management Board. He is on record saying that the gazette notification issued by the Jal Shakthi Ministry would hit the progress of schemes like Handree Neeva, Galeru-Nagari, Telugu Ganga, Veligonda, Somasila and Kandaleru projects.

Both Harshavardhan and Sudheer Reddy are, however, fully backing the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Government’s decision on Krishna water. They say that this was the right decision. Both the father and the sons are sticking to their guns. This is leading to a strange situation in the district.

Sajjala to become a minister in Team Jagan?

0

Is the opposition’s attempt to corner CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s political advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy turning out to be a godsend for him? Will these critics ultimately help Sajjala to enter into the government and become a minister? Those watching YSRCP moves say that Sajjala is too happy with those criticizing him.

Everyone knows Sajjala as a soft-spoken man. Not just that. He speaks sense. Unlike the shouting brigade and the motor mouths of the party, Sajjala speaks reasonably and deflects criticism of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government in a rational and objective way. He not only knows the ways of administration and legislature, but even knows how media functions. He was a top media executive in Udayam and Sakshi and has deep experience of the TV media. Hence, his statements are pithy and to-the-point.

However, YSRCP detractors recently went to the court over the appointment of CM’s advisors. Responding to this petition, the court has asked the government to give details of the advisors, their briefs, jurisdictions and functions. There was also a question about whether government’s advisors can make political statements.

To deflect all these criticisms, YS Jagan is reportedly mulling making Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy an MLC first and a minister next. If this is true, then Sajjala could get a plum department and could play a key role in the governance. This will mean he will become an important ministry and would be an important cog in Jagan government’s wheel.

Jagan transfers Rs 490 cr to Kapus at the click of a button!

0

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Thursday (today) transferred Rs 490.86 crore into the bank accounts of Kapu women.

The amount was transferred to Kapu women beneficiaries under “YSR Kapu Nestham” scheme.

Each beneficiary was credited an amount of Rs 15,000.

This is the second instalment of Rs 15,000 credited to their bank accounts. The first instalment of Rs 15,000 was credited last year.

Jagan introduced this scheme to credit a total of Rs 75,000 in five instalments in five years.

On Monday, Jagan transferred the amount into the bank accounts of 3,27,444 women beneficiaries at the click of a button from his Tadepalli camp office.

To ensure that banks do not adjust this amount to clear previous arrears of beneficiaries, Jagan deposited this amount in ‘unemcumbered bank accounts’ due to which banks cannot deduct this amount for any other purpose.

Jagan said that despite the government facing financial crisis due to Covid, he is committed to implementing welfare scheme for all sections of people in AP and he will continue welfare schemes under any circumstances.

Modi-Shah’s tit-for-tat against YS Jagan for stalling Lok Sabha?

1

Is the BJP using the same weapon on its best buddy YS Jagan Mohan Reddy that it has used against its arch rival Mamta Banerjee? It appears so. The BJP is using the strategy that it has employed against Mamta Banerjee on the YSRCP government too. Significantly, this is coming barely days after the YSRCP MPs have stalled both houses of Parliament to cause trouble to the ruling BJP.

It appears the BJP has not taken kindly to YSRCP’s belligerence. The National SC Commission has taken cognisance of a complaint filed by the National SC, ST Hakkula Sangham, an RSS body, and has ordered an inquiry into the allegations of mass conversion in Andhra Pradesh. It wanted State government’s chief secretary Adityanath Das to submit a detailed report within 15 days. Given the unlimited powers of the National SC Commission, this is being viewed as an attempt by the BJP at the Centre to tighten the noose around the YS Jagan government.

Interestingly, though the complaint has been filed long back, the National SC Commission has acted only now. Under Article 338 of the Indian Constitution, the Commission has special powers. It can issue orders to the Chief Secretary of any state and the CS is bound to comply. The BJP has used the National SC Commission to tame Mamta Banerjee. Her anti-BJP actions such as post-poll attacks on the BJP workers have drastically come down ever since the Article 338 was invoked and the SC and ST Commission have sent notices to the Chief Secretary.

The BJP affiliated organisations are planning to give AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy a torrid time on the issue of mass conversion and the payment of Rs 5000 towards ex-gratia for the pastors in the state. The SC Hakkula Sangham is an unknown organisation, but it has links to the RSS. In the past, it has filed a complaint against IPS officer RS Praveen Kumar and forced him to apologise. It has also managed to cancel Gospel meetings in Parade Grounds which were to be graced by no less a person than KTR himself. Now the same weapon is being employed to target YS Jagan. Is this the BJP’s tit-for-tat against Jagan for daring to raise its voice in Parliament?

Why is Jagan family’s arch rival is not joining YSRCP

1

Remember SV Satish Reddy ? He was the arch rival of the YSR family in Pulivendula. He never went back on contesting against them despite knowing he would be defeated. He contested and lost against late YSR and then he fought and lost to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. But, despite the string of defeats, he was always ready to fight the YS family in Pulivendula. He had always polled a significant number of votes in every contest.

But, post 2019 elections, Satish Reddy had lost the will to fight and has resigned from the TDP. Then it was rumoured that he would join the YSRCP and that YS Jagan would welcome him with open arms. Even Satish Reddy made the right noises. He said the YS family will always protect all those who stand by them. This was seen as an indication of his joining the YSRCP.

However, it has been almost two years but Satish Reddy did not join the YSRCP. If sources are to be believed Satish Reddy did not join the party because he was not sure of how the YSRCP would treat him. He has the example of Jammalamadugu strongman P Ramasubba Reddy before him. Ramasubba Reddy has joined the YSRCP some time ago. But the YSRCP is not treating him well. He has not been honourably rehabilitated. The YSRCP cadres too do not give him any respect. He is like an unwanted man in YSRCP.

Satish Reddy, who has a strong cadre of his own since the TDP days, is afraid that the YSRCP would treat him in the same way. Hence he is diffident about joining the YSRCP. Also, the YSRCP has not given him any assurance about his position in the party. The question about what position he would be given is also not clearly answered. Hence Reddy is keeping to himself and has not joined the YSRCP.

Andhra Guv, CM extend Bakrid greetings

0

Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday extended Eid-al-Adha greetings to the people in the state.

“On the solemn occasion of Bakrid (Id-ul-Azha), I extend my cordial greetings and good wishes to all my Muslim brethren in Andhra Pradesh,” said Biswa Bhusan Harichandan.

Bakrid holds immense significance in the Islamic faith and is celebrated with special prayers and great reverence, he added.

“Bakrid symbolizes sacrifice, absolute devotion to God and compassion for the poor and emphasises the principle of sharing,” said Harichandan.

As people celebrate Bakrid, the Governor wished for the spirit of charity and goodwill towards all be cherished and nourished.

However, Harichandan cautioned the people celebrating the festival to be wary of Covid-19 pandemic and advised them to strictly follow Covid protocols.

“I appeal to the people of Andhra Pradesh to strictly adhere to Covid-appropriate behaviour by wearing masks and maintain social distance at all times and cooperate with the authorities to prevent the spread of Covid-19,” he added.

Likewise, the Andhra Chief Minister said Bakrid is a symbol of faith, grace and unity.

“My greetings to Muslims who celebrate Bakrid meditating upon the sacrifice of holy prophet Ibrahim,” Reddy added.

The CM prayed for the blessings of Allah on all of us at all times.

However, inclement weather and coronavirus have proved to be the dampener this Bakrid.

Jagan hell-bent on protecting this mediaperson?

0

With the High Court taking a serious view of the political publicity that the Delhi-based media advisors of the AP Government are doing, the focus is now on their role and functions. The High Court is likely to review their roles and the emoluments being given to them.

Soon after he came to power, YS Jagan appointed some media personnel, who peddled favourable stories and created a positive impact, as his media advisors. One such person was appointed as the Government advisor for national media. His task was to popularise government schemes and create an interface between the YS Jagan Government and the national media. However, the ‘advisor’ is said to be behaving more like an unannounced MP and is busy promoting Jagan’s politics at the national level. More than the government schemes, he is said to be promoting YS Jagan and his brand of politics. He is said to have become a regular media fixture in New Delhi’s media.

Based on a recent petition, the High Court is said to be reviewing the functions, role and the emoluments given to such advisors to YS Jagan government. There are also questions as to how and why these advisors are getting highlighted in the media. The salaries and emoluments given to such media advisors runs into lakhs of rupees. The court will examine them too, if sources are to be believed.

However, YS Jagan is said to be quite impressed with their achievements and wants to reward the mediapersons who are creating a favourable image of him in the national media. He is said to be disinclined to lose them. He is said to be planning alternative moves to ensure that they stay in the job in Delhi. Let’s wait and see how things pan out.

Jagan’s Tadepalli residence turns into a war zone!

0

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s official residence-cum-camp office in Tadepalli has turned into a war zone since Monday morning due to “Chalo Tadepalli” call given by students and youth organisations belonging to Opposition TDP and Left paties.

The student and youth organisations are trying to lay siege to Jagan’s residence as part of “Chalo Tadepalli” protest rally demanding enhancement of jobs announced under the recent annual recruitment calendar announced by Jagan government.

Jagan released annual recruitment calendar to fill 10,143 vacant posts in various state government departments on June 18 for the year 2021-22 till March 2022. But student organisations are angry at notifying just 10,143 posts while the vacancies in government departments are over 2 lakhs.

The Jagan government has deployed three SPs, DSPs and thousands of policemen around Jagan’s residence and blocked all the roads leading to Jagan’s house in Tadepalli to prevent student organisations from reaching his house. Despite this, scores of student activisits ventured on to the roads since today morning and trying to reach Jagan’s house breaking police cordon.

The police arrested hundreds of students activists. This led to clashes between students and police at several locations.

A curfew atmosphere is prevailing in Tadepalli with heavy police restrictions and presence of heavy police force in the area.

Behind the screen drama over nominated posts in Jagan government

What went behind the screens before the YSRCP government announced its mega list of nominated posts on Saturday? If sources are to be believed, there was a lot of high drama and last minute tinkering before the list became public.

The confusion in the top brass of the YSRCP was visible in the way the whole press conference was handled. In fact, the announcement was to come on Friday evening. Initially, the time given was 5 pm on Friday. Later, it was postponed to 7 pm. But, the press meet never happened. Later, it was announced that ministers Chelluboyina Venu and Mekathoti Sucharita will announce the list on Saturday at 11 am. Again there was a deferment. Finally, the press conference was held at 12.15. Thus there were as many as four postponements. This is quite strange, according to the political analysts.

Finally when the presser was held, it was Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, the political advisor of the CM, who conducted the press conference. MP Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, MLA Meruga Narjuna and MP Nandigam Suresh spoke. It was after all these people that ministers Venu and Sucharita spoke. This indicated the last minute tinkering and confusion in the YSRCP over the nominated posts.

Even in the list announced, there was a lot of jumbling. For instance, a closer examination revealed that only 68 of the 137 posts were of the state level. The remaining were district level nominated posts. Similarly, even muslims were shown as belonging to the BC category. As many as 17 posts went to the Reddy community. This is roughly 10 percent of the total posts.
