The makers of ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ are planning to get Telugu folk singer Mangli on board, to sing a peppy number for the movie.

With Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles, the movie has already got the best of the worlds, in terms of cast and crew. Now the famous folk singer is also set to join hands with the team of ‘Pushpa’.

‘Pushpa’s music director, Devi Sri Prasad, has reportedly roped in Mangli to sing a folk song, which would represent the folks of the Rayalaseema region of Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh.

As Allu Arjun’s story revolves around the rural remote areas of Chittoor district, the makers wanted a representative song, dedicated to serving the purpose. So, they apparently roped in Mangli, as she is popular for her folk singing.

It is to be noted that Satyavathi Rathod, popularly known as Mangli in the Telugu states, has crooned some chartbuster songs in Telugu.

Famous for her traditional Banjara attire, Mangli’s Telangana folk songs grabbed her fame as a singer and television presenter.

Her recent sensational song was ‘Saaranga Dariya’ from Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi starrer ‘Love Story’.

This is the third single from the crime thriller movie ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ will see its launch.

The songs ‘Dakko Dakko Meka’ and ‘Sri Valli’ from Pushpa became instant hits, crossing several million viewership numbers on YouTube.

This Sukumar directorial will be released in two parts- The first part, ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ is slated to hit screens on December 17 worldwide.

The Malayalam film industry’s most hyped actor Fahadh Fassil is to appear as the villain in the film.

The coronavirus pandemic turned into a speed breaker for the film industry. Several Tollywood filmmakers have invested big in their upcoming movies which are delayed by months. Though the theatrical business across AP and Telangana is reopened, the other markets are yet to get back to business. RRR and Pushpa are the upcoming biggies from Tollywood that will head for a pan-Indian release. Both these films are heading for a big bet and there is a huge stake involved for all the parties. The release dates are finalized and announced but the filmmakers are still puzzled and scared of the hurdles.

The Hindi market is yet to reopen and a bunch of films are getting ready for release from November. We have to wait to see how the upcoming Bollywood biggies will perform to ensure a smooth road and release for RRR and Pushpa. The USA market is completely reopened which is a great sign. Some of the other international markets are yet to reopen completely. There are a bunch of Hindi films releasing in December which keeps Pushpa at a tough slot. For RRR, Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam will release in a week’s gap. These films will face a tough competition from several biggies in the coming weeks after their release.

The ticket pricing GO in Andhra Pradesh is still yet to be resolved. This issue should be solved to get great numbers in the state which is a major contributor for Tollywood. Some of the experts warn of a possible third wave of coronavirus in India in January 2022 which is a worrying factor. For now, the makers of Pushpa and RRR are working to release the films as per the plan despite the odds ahead.

Actress Rashmika Mandanna, who is receiving a positive response for the first look of her upcoming first multilingual pan-India film ‘Pushpa’, says she has got a chance to explore a different side of her as a performer.

The first look of the poster features a never-seen-before raw and rustic avatar of Rashmika wearing a yellow saree and holding a bunch of flowers.

Expressing her gratitude for the love she has got from her fans and audiences, Rashmika said, “It is so gratifying to receive such heart-warming compliments for my first look of ‘Pushpa’. I was at first nervous and excited, but I’m really glad and thankful for all the love the audiences have showered on ‘Pushpa’.”

She added: “It is my first multi-lingual pan-India movie and I believe that it has given me an opportunity to explore a different side of me as an actress. It’s going to help me establish yet another milestone and I can’t wait for my fans and audiences to see me bring alive the character of Srivalli, who is the soul of the film.”

Apart from ‘Pushpa’, Rashmika also has two Bollywood films lined up. These are ‘Mission Majnu’ with Sidharth Malhotra and ‘Good Bye’, which is in the pipeline, and features Amitabh Bachchan.

‘Pushpa’ is directed by Telugu director Sukumar and also features two multi-award-winning actors Allu Arjun and Fahadh Faasil. It is slated to release on December 21, 2021.

Despite the delay in shoot as a result of Covid second wave, Pushpa: The Rise has stuck to the Christmas release plan. A new poster of the film was also unveiled to publicize the release date.

SS Rajamouli’s next magnum opus RRR released a Friendship song Dosti in five Indian languages and the song was crooned by the top five singers of the respective languages. But Sukumar’s health brought an unexpected break for the shoot. Gone are the days when the audience used to watch films with lengthy runtime. As days proceeded, the runtime was adjusted to two and a half hours and the latest trend is a crispy two hour film. Directors like Sukumar and Sekhar Kammula are known to shoot lengthy content and the editors have to spend months to make it short and crispy. The latest trend that the directors have adopted is making a film in two parts. This can give them a chance to narrate the entire stuff and it would be profitable if both the installments end up as hits.

Baahubali was made in two parts and both of them ended up as money spinners. This happens to be the latest trend. Sukumar and Allu Arjun believe that Pushpa cannot be told in a single part and they decided to release the film in two parts. There are speculations that Salaar too will release in two parts and the discussions are going on. Kalyanram’s periodic attempt Bimbisara too will release in two parts considering the span of the film.

Keeping the profits aside, there is a lot of risk involved when a film is made in two parts. The film should have exciting stuff to be made in two installments and if the first part ends up as a dud, there would be no expectations on the second one. There would be a lot of financial risks involved as the efforts and budgets will be heaped up. For now, there are several directors who are planning films to be made in two parts.

Pushpa was planned on a huge budget as per the script and the makers closed most of the deals in 2019. As per the early trading, the producers pocketed close to Rs 60 crores through the non-theatrical deals. Things changed after the release of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo which ended up as the biggest hit in Allu Arjun’s career.

As per the current market trend, the makers would have pocketed close to Rs 100 crores through the deals that are closed in 2019.
