Samantha’s emotional connect with Tirumala
Samantha Akkineni is racing ahead with back to back hits. After a blockbuster like Majili, the actress is testing her luck with a women-centric comic entertainer Oh Baby. With the film hitting the screens this week, Samantha paid her visit to Tirumala today. She has been visiting the temple before the release of her films and this turned out to be a sentiment and an emotional connect for the actress.
Samantha prefers to reach Tirumala through steps and offers prayers during the break darshan. Oh Baby is carrying decent expectations and is directed by Nandini Reddy. Naga Shaurya, Lakshmi, Rao Ramesh and Rajendra Prasad played other crucial roles. The film is releasing on July 5th.
When Samantha’s experiment did not work out

The film is adapted from a Korean movie Miss Granny. The film’s story is all about a woman in her 70s who magically behaves like a 20-year-old. Going with the theme, Samantha was asked to essay both the roles in the film. Several look tests have been conducted and for one of the roles, Samantha had to take prosthetic makeup to fit well as a 70-year-old woman.
Samantha had allergies after applying the makeup and the makers decided not to risk. It is then they finalized actress Lakshmi for the role. Oh Baby is directed by Nandini Reddy and is releasing on July 5th all over. Naga Shaurya, Rao Ramesh and Rajendra Prasad played other crucial roles. Suresh Productions and People Media Factory produced the film.
Suresh Babu suggests changes for Samantha’s Next
Veteran producer Suresh Babu is releasing a bunch of small budget films after watching them in private screenings. Along with these, he has been producing several films on his prestigious Suresh Productions banner. It was Samantha who referred a Korean remake ‘Miss Granny’ and Suresh Babu loved the film. Nandini Reddy and her team worked for ample time, made several changes for the script. Titled ‘O Baby’, the film’s shoot got wrapped up in record time.
Suresh Babu happened to watch the film recently and he suggested couple of changes in the second half. The post-production work of O Baby is in final stages. Samantha, Naga Shaurya, Rao Ramesh played the lead roles in this interesting drama. O Baby will be released during the third week of June. Samantha sounded extremely confident on the success of O Baby.
Naga Chaitanya and Samantha teaming up again?
Star couple Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Akkineni joined hands for Majili and the film is winning the hearts of the Tollywood audience. The film is a smashing hit and the performances of Chaitu, Samantha have been widely appreciated. If the latest speculations are to be believed, Chaitu and Samantha are all set to team up again and this time for an action drama.
Ajay Bhupathi created a sensation with his debut film RX100. He was in talks with youngsters like Ram and Bellamkonda Sreenivas, but the project did not materialize. The latest update says that he recently met Chaitanya, Samantha and narrated the script. Though the duo loved the script, it is unclear if Samantha will be a part of the project. Chaitanya gave his nod and the regular shoot commences post summer. Earlier, Samantha was part of this project when Bellamkonda Sreenivas was the lead actor. After the actor’s exit, the script reached Naga Chaitanya.
Veteran producer Gemini Kiran will bankroll the project on Anandi Art Creations banner.
Majili Goes Up On Second Day – 2 days AP/TS Collections

Majili has a very good second day as the film has collected a distributor share of 4.52 Cr on it’s second day in Telugu States taking 2 days total to over 9.50 Cr. The Collections are higher than first day which is very good for the film. It has completely taken the advantage of the Ugadi holiday. Advances are very good for today and it is likely that the film will collect about 14 Cr share by the end of weekend in Telugu States.

Akkineni star couple’s surprise in Manmadhudu 2
Akkineni star couple Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Akkineni are testing their luck with Majili which is hitting the screens today. The film opened with huge positive response and opened with a bang. They are set to surprise the Tollywood audience with a special appearance in Manmadhudu 2. King Nagarjuna and Rakul Preet Singh are the lead actors in this romantic drama directed by Rahul Ravindran.
Chaitanya and Samantha will play real-life couple as Nag’s son and daughter-in-law in the film. They will be seen in a cameo in the film and will thrill the audience during the climax of the film. The first schedule of Manmadhudu 2 has been wrapped up recently. Chaitu and Samantha are yet to complete their portions for the movie. Manam Enterprises and Anandi Art Creations are the producers.

Story:
Purna (Chaitanya) is a middle-class boy from Vizag who wants to be a cricketer. Anshu( Divyansha ) is a north Indian girl , daughter of aVizag naval officer. Purna and Anshu loves each other but destiny separates them and Sravani(Samantha ) enters into the life of Purna . Unable to forget his first love, Purna lives in memories of Anshu though married to Sravani. Rest of the film is how the marital life of Purna, Sravani shapes up!
Analysis:
‘Majili’ is a sensible film that has been made with honesty and nativity. This film is a slice of a youngster’s life. The life phases of Purna ( Naga Chaitanya) such as pursuing his passion of becoming cricketer, falling in love with a girl, missing the girl and marrying another girl etc. have been showcased with an emotional content.First half deals with hanging out with friends, practising in cricket matches and Love with Anshu. Second half is about the marital life with Sravani (Samantha).
Director Shiva Nirvana shows his command over writing heart touching dialogues and in writing good scenes to showcase the chemistry between Anshu and Purna. While in most of the film he didn’t go over the top, but the key twist that happens in Dehradun and subsequent scenes are illogical or too cinematic. Though abrupt, climax is fine with impressive performances of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha. But pre- climax 30 minutes are dragged. Little crisper editing would have helped in pace.
The pure friendship, deceit friendships, General misimpression amongst middle class youth about north Indian girls, many other scenes are impressively handled by the director. Gopi Sundar’s music is just okay !
Performances:
Naga Chaitanya got his career best author backed role as ‘ Purna ‘, acted superb too ! Samantha steals the show with her stellar performance in 2nd half as ‘ Sravani’ .New girl Divyansha is adequate. Posani Krishna murali, Rao Ramesh got tailor made roles for them.

- Old school drama in last 30 minutes

Verdict:
Majili is a Good film for family audience and a decent one time watch for Youth! USP of the film is in it’s story, while dialogues and performances are added assets. On flip side, slow paced narration at times doesn’t go well with a section of audience.

Samantha to play a cameo
Reigning actress Samantha Akkineni’s career is going great guns in Tollywood with numerous offers in her kitty. She is currently awaiting the release of her upcoming films Majili and O Baby which are slated for Summer release. Meanwhile, she is busy signing her next projects.
Reportedly, Samantha is likely to play a cameo role in Nagarjuna’s next film Manmadhudu 2 which got underway recently. Sources revealed that director Rahul Ravindran has penned an interesting character for which he approached Samantha. Though it is a cameo appearance, the character comes at a crucial juncture of the story. So, the director wanted a prominent actor to essay it.
Samantha has agreed to appear in a brief role. The film features Rakul Preet Singh as the leading lady and Vennela Kishore in a hilarious role.
Samantha to romance Nani?
Samantha Akkineni is racing ahead with back to back films. The top actress shared the screen with Nani in Eega and Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu. The duo is all set to work together for the third time for Mohankrishna Indraganti’s next film, an action drama. Nani and Sudheer Babu are the lead actors and Samantha will romance Nani in this film which is tentatively titled Vyuham.
The regular shoot starts later this year and Vyuham releases during Christmas 2019. Nani is said to have assigned a role with negative shades and Sudheer Babu plays a cop in this new age action drama. Dil Raju is the producer and more details awaited.
Samantha as Vaembu is winning the hearts

She played one among the lead roles in Tamil film Super Deluxe which released couple of days ago. The film received critical acclaim and is minting huge money all over. Majili Streaming Rights Sold for Record Price
Naga Chaitanya and Samantha are teaming up for the first time post their marriage for a breezy romantic drama titled Majili. Shiva Nirvana is the director and the film releases on April 5th all over. The makers recently closed the satellite, digital and Hindi dubbing rights of the film. Gemini TV acquired the satellite rights for Rs 5 crores. Amazon Prime picked the digital streaming rights for Rs 3.5 crores.
The Hindi dubbing rights of Majili are sold for Rs 4 crores. All these rights in total fetched Rs 12.5 crores which is a good deal for the makers. Shine Screens are the producers. Naga Chaitanya plays a young cricketer in one of the roles in the film. Divyansha Kaushik is the other lead actress and Gopi Sunder is the music composer for Majili.
Chay-Sam’s Majili wraps up its shoot
The shooting of star couple Naga Chaitanya and Samantha’s romantic drama, Majili is nearing completion. On the other hand, the makers have kick-started the film’s promotions by unveiling its first look teaser a few days ago.
Now, the latest update is that Majlli has wrapped up its entire shoot part today and the team will be now busy with post-production activities. Being directed by Shiva Nirvana of Ninnu Kori fame, the film marks the first collaboration of Chay-Sam since their marriage.
Divyansha Kaushik is playing the second female lead’s role in Majili. Gopi Sunder is composing music. Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi are jointly producing ‘Majili’ under Shine Screens banner.
Adivi Sesh’s crucial role in Samantha’s film
Talented writer and actor Adivi Sesh has landed a crucial role in Samantha’s upcoming lady oriented film which has Nandini Reddy at the helm.
Titled as O Baby, the film is said to be inspired by Korean drama Miss Granny. Samantha is playing the lead role and Rao Ramesh has already been roped in for a prominent role in this film. Reportedly, Adivi Sesh will be seen in a cameo appearance. Although Sesh’s role will have brief screen time, it is going to be a very impactful character in the film’s plot.
Adivi Sesh is impressed with the character and immediately agreed to join the shoot. The makers are planning to release the film in Summer.
