On the flip side, a few started trolling her looks saying that Samantha lost her charm and glow. Sam made it sensible and replied to one of the trolls saying,” I pray you never have to go through months of treatment and medication like I did.. And here’s some love from me to add to your glow.”

Samantha always stood up for herself and was never silent on social media. Her savage reply to one of the posts is viral now. She also thanked her fans through her Instagram post by posting a flying kiss picture.

Shaakuntalam trailer got released today. The film is an epic love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant from Mahabharatam. At the trailer event, both Samantha and Gunasekhar turned emotional on the stage.

Samantha was not part of Shaakuntalam promotions till today. she was far from media and promotions as the actress suffering from a rare disease Myositis. Today she was emotional at the trailer launch event. She said, I am very happy with the love fans showered on her throughout her tough time and she also added, “ I love films and films loved me in return the same way. I wanted to see the love and appreciation we get for Shaakuntalam after the trailer launch, that’s the only reason I am here. “

Director Gunasekhar also turned emotional by remembering the struggle for making Shaakuntalam. Gunasekhar said, My daughter, Neelima wanted to be a producer after returning back from the USA and after listening to Shaakuntalam’s story, she stuck with it. Shaakuntalam has three heroes and Dev Mohan will be the main lead. But in reality, Dil Raju is the main hero of the project. Dil Raju’s words made me confident and made me do what I want. While talking about Dil Raju’s support, Guna Sekhar turned emotional.

Shaakuntalam was made with 3 years of hard work. The trailer has created a huge buzz. The movie will be released on the 17th of February worldwide in five languages.

Shaakuntalam Trailer: Gunasekhar’s magnum opus

Samantha is all set to appear on Shaakuntalam, slated to open in theatres on February 17. The film is a romantic drama, written and directed by Gunasekhar. This will be Samantha’s first release after Yashoda. The film reached into everyone’s hearts with the promotional content. Today makers released the film’s trailer.

Nearly 3-minute trailer, introduces the fantasy love story between Shakuntala, the daughter of Menaka and Vishwamitra, and King Dushyant. Everyone is in awe of the grandeur and meticulous detailing in every frame. her disagreements and difficulties in meeting King Dushyant.

After becoming pregnant, she ultimately discovers that his love had betrayed her. The poetic trailer sets the scene with lovely dialogue and visuals. A surprise element of the pure magical love story is the war setup, and the 3D version will take it to the next level.

This is Allu Arha’s debut film, and her entrance at the conclusion on a lion is simply brilliant. Setting the mood for the magnum opus, the trailer narrates the basic story of Shakuntala. Samantha looks ethereal in the film and her introduction with butterflies mesmerises everyone.

Samantha also showed her dedication and effort with Instagram posts. Her commitment will speak volumes for sure. The film is bankrolled under Guna Teamworks. Neelima Guna is the producer. The initiative is being presented by dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creaatons. The music is composed by Melody Brahma Mani Sharma.

Laying to rest rumours that she is taking a long sabbatical from work, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has started recording for her upcoming film.

The actress, who was recently diagnosed with Myositis, took to social media to declare that she is back at work. She shared a picture of her recording for upcoming movie Shaakuntalam.

On her Instagram page, Samantha quoted author Nikki Rowe to drive home the point that it is in the work she find the solace.

“Art is my cure to all this madness, sadness and loss of belonging in the world & through it I’ll walk myself home. – Nikki Rowe,” she wrote with the hashtag ‘Shaakuntalam’, which is the name of her upcoming film.

There have been rumours that the actress is taking a long sabbatical from work, leading to her withdrawing from ‘Family Man’ helmers Raj and DK’s next project, ‘Citadel’. However, she has dismissed all these rumours.

Samantha, who impressed everyone with her performance in ‘Yashoda’, has an interesting slate of projects including ‘Shaakuntalam’ and ‘Kushi’ with Vijay Deverakonda, besides ‘Citadel’.

Last year, she made a dazzling presence in the ‘Oo Antava’ song from ‘Pushpa: The Rise’. In October, she was diagnosed with with a rare condition called Myositis, which weakens muscles. Since then there have been rumours surrounding her.

The actress is determined to overcome the odds. She began the new year on a positive note. “Control what we can!! Guess it’s time for newer and easier resolutions.. ones that are kinder and gentler on ourselves. God bless Happy 2023!!” she wrote on Instagram.

Indian cinema is going global and the regional films in India are reaching pan-Indian corners. The Indian cinema is completely focused on Telugu and Kannada films which delivered some of the biggest hits in 2022. There are a bunch of pan-Indian films releasing from Telugu cinema in the year 2023 and some other films that started rolling recently may release in 2024. Samantha’s periodic film Shaakuntalam would be the first pan-Indian film from Telugu cinema and Shaakuntalam releases in February. A major amount of the budget is spent on the sets and the VFX work. Natural Star Nani’s Dasara too will head for a pan-Indian release and Dasara is said to be the costliest film in his career.

Nani feels that Dasara has the right potential to impress all the crowds. The film releases in March 2023. Pawan Kalyan’s periodic attempt Hari Hara Veera Mallu will also have a pan-Indian release and the shoot reached the final stages. Krish is the director and the shoot will conclude this month. The film got delayed and the budget crossed the limits. Ravanasura and Tiger Nageswara Rao are the two films of Ravi Teja that will head for pan-Indian release this year. The shoots are in final stages and the release dates would be announced very soon. Prabhas will have two releases in 2023 and Salaar, and Adipurush will have a wider release. Prashanth Neel and Om Raut are the directors of these attempts.

Apart from these, there are a heap of films that will release in multiple languages. The dates and the plans will be announced soon.

Story:
Yashoda (Samantha) is a girl from a poor family who signs a surrogacy contract and joins EVA hospital run by Madhu( Varalakshmi Sarat Kumar ). Yashoda learns about the shocking another side of the EVA after joining there. What are the dark activity Madhu and her mafia do in the EVA , and how Yashoda uncovers the mafia is the rest of the story

Analysis:

Yashoda starts with a suspicious death – a common thing in many crime films. A heroine from a western country dies mysteriously on her India trip, autopsy report finds a mysterious drug in her body. Meanwhile, Yashoda who signs a surrogacy contract joins in EVA center. As the audience knows there is a common link between these two threads, it is essential that scenes and narration must be engaging and fast-paced. Instead, the first half‘s main focus is on motherhood and gender bias-based back-stories discussed between the four women characters in EVA. There is a shocking element in the crime that happens in EVA center which is worth 10 web series episodes. Despite using those elements, the main story does not start until the interval block is a minus.

In a crime-themed film, revealing the real suspense element must be very effective. Hero or police investigate and reveal the suspense element in an engaging manner making it effective, but in this film, the antagonists themselves reveal the whole operation via a video presentation. There are two flashback episodes in the second half. Madhu’s ( varalakshmi) flashback is a shocking one, which forms the core point of the film. Climax episodes are dragged on a lot with mindless fights. Eva center design is modern and adds a different backdrop look to the film.

Production values stand out in the film. Action sequences are stylish, and Sukumar’s camera work is good. Mani sarma’s background score is adequate

Performances:
It’s a Samantha one-woman show, she has shown mature performance. Samantha well understood the dual-shaded role, played with ease. She did well in fight episodes as well. The next notable character is varalakshmi’s villainy, which she did well. Unni Mukundan role is crucial as well. Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma roles are limited, and T fit for them.

Verdict :

YASHODA is an average film at the best. The first half of the film is in sentimental mode; the second half has some action and a few dark elements. The predictable narration turns out to be negative to this otherwise modernly shot film.
