Jagan is a blatant liar, says Atchen Naidu

0

Terming Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, as a blatant liar, president of the State unit of the TDP, Kinjerapu Atchen Naidu, on Saturday asked whether it is wrong that Chandrababu Naidu, in his capacity as the chief minister, signed the necessary files.

Talking to media persons here, Atchen Naidu questioned as to how the chief minister and the ministers take the responsibility for the decisions taken by the Cabinet. The TDP State unit president asked whether Jagan is ready to accept the facts revealed by TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh on the Skill Development project.

Observing that the ruling YSRCP is feeling nervous with the massive public support Chandrababu is getting, Atchen Naidu said that Jagan always utters untruths and never spells out any facts. Reacting strongly to the comments made by Jagan at the Nidadavolu public meeting earlier in the day while releasing funds under Kapu Nestham scheme, Atchen Naidu termed Jagan as a fake Chief Minister.

Jagan has no faith in the Constitution and on the courts, he said and added that Jagan, an economic extremist, minted Rs 40,000 cr taking advantage of the power of his father, the late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy. It is really ridiculous that such a leader is talking about corruption, he remarked.

Jagan has the patent right on corruption who introduced the very word quid pro quo to society by setting up shell companies, Atchen Naidu said. None other than the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI have come out with evidences on Mr Jagan’s corruption, he added.

How Jagan is facing the public after shamelessly registering cases against a clean leader like Chandrababu Naidu, he asked. Does Jagan dare enough to come out with a single evidence against Mr Chandrababu in the Skill Development project issue, he said.

Can Jagan prove that money with regard to the Skill Development project is transferred to the accounts of either Chandrababu or his family members, Atchen Naidu said. It is really shameful that Jagan is claiming that the project has no connections with Siemens when the management representatives from Siemens discussed personally with Chandrababu on the project, the TDP State unit president noted.

Is there in the Constitution that the chief minister should not sign on the papers on administrative decisions, he asked and mentioned that when the Cabinet meets the chief minister and the ministers enter the meeting hall after signing the register. How Jagan can claim that this is wrong, he qestioned.

The Additional Advocate General, Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy, who moved the courts, from the lower courts to the Supreme Court, that the officers concerned too should be held responsible when Jagan went to jail in the corruption case, is now talking about ethics, Atchen Naidu said.

CM Jagan’s Swift Delhi Visit Upon Return Sparks Political Speculation

1

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s return from a ten-day personal trip to London has stirred significant curiosity among political circles and observers. His swift plan, as per the reports, to visit Delhi immediately upon his arrival back in India has led to rampant speculation about the purpose and implications of this move, especially against the backdrop of heightened political activity in Andhra Pradesh after the arrest of former chief minister Chandra Babu Naidu a couple of days ago.

While the official narrative portrays Jagan’s trip as centered on securing funds for crucial projects like Polavaram and discussing parliamentary sessions and Jamili election-related matters, there is a prevailing belief among the Telugu populace that the primary focus will revolve around the recent arrest of former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and its implications.

One perspective suggests that Jagan’s assertive action in arresting Naidu might not have received unanimous approval within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). According to this view, Jagan’s visit to the nation’s capital is intended to update and explain Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah regarding Naidu’s arrest. Supporters of this theory point to Naidu’s recent interactions with BJP leaders, such as his discussions with JP Nadda during NTR centenary celebrations, as evidence of a potentially evolving relationship.

Conversely, a more widely held perspective posits that Jagan’s bold moves were unlikely without support from influential figures within the central government, particularly the BJP. This theory suggests that BJP leaders may be orchestrating events behind the scenes, with Jagan serving as the public face of these actions. Observers of this viewpoint cite historical actions, like instances of TDP activists clashing with Union Home Minister Amit Shah during Naidu’s tenure, as indicative of complex political maneuvering.

As political tensions continue to rise in Andhra Pradesh, after the arrest of CBN, Jagan’s return is expected to see a renewed focus on law and order. Maintaining stability within the state and handling opposition protests are likely to dominate discussions as per some political observers. However, a significant portion of the Telugu population asserts that with general elections and assembly elections less than a year away, the Delhi meeting will predominantly revolve around political strategies and alliances, overshadowing discussions on policies and administrative matters.

In summary, CM Jagan’s visit to Delhi at this critical juncture fuels intrigue and speculation, with many keenly observing the discussions and decisions that may transpire during this significant trip.

Jagan started a culture of political revenge, says Dhulipala

0

Is the wrong committed by former chief minister and TDP supremo, Nara Chandababu Naidu, to take the State to number one position in the country in human resources development, asked senior TDP leader and former MLA, Dhulipala Narendra, on Monday.

Narendra told media persons here that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, has started a culture of taking revenge on the leaders of rival parties. Did Chandrababu commit a blunder by launching Skill Development Centres to provide employment opportunities to the youth, he asked.

Is it the crime of Chandrababu Naidu to take the State to number one position in the country in human resource development, Narendra questioned. Observing that Chandrababu always strived for the welfare and the development of the people, Dhulipala Narendra said that it has become a habit to Jagan to foist false cases against those who are raising their voice on the faulty policies of the Government.

Pointing out that the late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy too filed some cases against Chandrababu which he later withdrew, the TP leader said that the Siemens was encouraged to ensure that the State should progress industrially. When 2.13 lakh youth were imparted training using the project, Jagan utilising the services of the same project gave training to 21,000 persons, he pointed out.

If there is a scam in this project, how the YSRCP Government has given training to 21,000 youth using the same project, he asked. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, introduced the Skill Development project in Gujarat in 2013, he said and asked whether it is not a fact that some senior officers had visited the centres run by the Siemens in Gujarat, he asked.

On November 5 and 6 of 2015, the IAS officers, Sunitha, Lakshminarayana, and Ganta Subba Rao were among the team which visited Gujarat, he said and added that they met a team of Siemens and DesignTech in that State. They also had a meeting with Additional Secretary (Industries), Arvind Agarwal, the Commissioner of Industries, Mamatha Varma and the Industries Joint Commissioner, Trivedi besides the Skill Development Secretary of Gujarat, he added.

The YSRCP leaders who are levelling baseless charges against Chandrababu should know the fact that Trivedi had said that ”The Funds of Government meant for implementation of phase-1, Phase -2 were transferred institution wise to DesignTech in one go advance.” Also is it not a fact that the team of officers from the State submitted a report that “Siemens is a reputed company working with DesignTech and the implementation of the project is satisfactory,” he pointed out.

The funds were released based on the report submitted by the officers after their visit to Gujarat, he said and asked as to why those who are claiming that funds were looted by escalating the estimates are not talking about the letter of Premachandra Reddy to the Central Tool Design Institute.

It was Premachandra Reddy who wrote a letter on the cost of the project while the Central Tool Design Institute has submitted its report on this, Narendra said asked where is the involvement of Chandrababu in this. He expressed surprise that if at all the project cost is revised why Premachandra Reddy has not been made responsible for this.

AP will develop only if Jagan is defeated, says Naidu

0

TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu said that Andhra Pradesh would be developed only if Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is defeated. He said that the state had gone back several years and it would take at least two terms for anyone to bring the state back on to the track.

Naidu interacted with the media persons in Delhi on Tuesday. Naidu arrived in the national capital to participate in the release of Rs 100 coin by President Droupadi Murmu marking the birth centenary of late N T Rama Rao. Later, he met the Election Commission and complained about the bogus votes being enrolled by the ruling YSR Congress.

Naidu also complained to the EC about the removal of TDP votes in several Assembly constituencies in the state. He said that the officials were not listening to the opposition parties which are complaining about the removal of voters.

On the second day of his stay in the national capital, Naidu told the media persons that he had been trying to create awareness among the people on the need to defeat Jagan Mohan Reddy in the coming elections. He said he took up subjects to speak and educate people on the issues.

The TDP supremo said that Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government had destroyed the irrigation projects, including Polavaram Project, which was considered the lifeline of the state. He said that he had toured the irrigation projects which have become the victims of Jagan Mohan Reddy’s misrule.

Naidu said that the TDP had been working with the national approach. It had worked with several national parties in the past, he said. He also stated that he had differences with the BJP only on the grant of special category status and not any other issues. He said he had clarified this several times in the past.

He gave a compliment to the policies of the BJP at the Centre and said that he had the same vision that Prime Minister Narendra Modi talks about these days.

On elections in Telangana, the TDP chief said that the party would go alone in the impending elections. He said that there was no time for the party to align with the BJP or any other political party in the state. He also said that the party would release its list of candidates shortly and fight in the Assembly elections.

0

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy released Rs 680.44 crore towards Jagananna Vidya Deevena for the second quarter of 2023 benefiting 9,32,235 students. The amount would be directly credited into their mothers’ bank accounts.

Addressing a public meeting before releasing the amount at Nagari on Monday, the Chief Minister said the Government has been spending huge amounts on educational reforms as it strongly believes that education only can drive away poverty and other ills from society.

Jagananna Vidya Deevena was introduced to ensure 100 per cent fee reimbursement so that financial inability doesn’t come in the way of pursuing higher education, he said.

In the last four years, Government has spent Rs.69,289crore on education alone implementing unique programmes like Jagananna Vidya Deevena, Vasathi Deevena, Amma Vodi, Videshi Vidya Deevena, Goru Mudda, Vidya Kanuka, YSR Sampoorna Poshana, Nadu-Nedu, and YSR Kalyanamasthu and YSR Shadi Tohfa, he said.

While TOEFL training will help students improve communication skills, introduction of job-oriented curriculum and verticals in higher education will help students face the competition in the job market at national and international level, he said, adding that soon students will also be able to pursue courses containing IB syllabus.

Vidya Deevena is being implemented for students pursuing ITI, Polytechnic, Degree, Engineering, Medicine and other courses without any limit on the number of eligible children in a family.

He asked mothers to visit colleges and find out the facilities and quality of teaching and suggested they can lodge complaints on toll-free number 1902 and also on Jaganannaku Chebudam helplines for resolving the issues.

The Chief Minister laid foundation stones for a model police station and a boys’ residential school and inaugurated a 100-bedded hospital.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, along with Union Minister for Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan, laid foundation stone for the Central Tribal University to be built with a cost of Rs 834 crore coming up in an extent of 561.88 acres.

Addressing a huge public meeting at Chinamedapalli village on Friday, the Chief Minister said that the University will provide better educational facilities to tribal youth to lift their living standards and help them shine on national and international platforms.

“Your minds are pure and you have kept me in your hearts. I will continue to strive for your welfare,” he said, adding that the Government has so far disbursed Rs.16,805crore benefiting 58, 39,000 tribal families through DBT and non-DBT welfare schemes.

The Chief Minister thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for granting the Tribal University to the State and said it will help tribal students of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha. Tribal University is presently functioning temporarily from Vizianagaram utilising Andhra University facilities.

The proposed Tribal University will come up at Marrivalasa and Chinamedapalli villages in the adjoining Dattirajeru and Mentada Mandals in Saluru constituency.

Tribals, neglected for decades, are still backward in most respects and the Government has been striving to improve their living standards, he said and listed out the steps taken for their social and economic empowerment.

Government has been fulfilling the election promises made to tribals which include setting up of Tribal Advisory Committee and the five-member ST Commission.

“We have spent Rs 410 crore on subsidies so far benefiting 4,58,000 tribal families for fulfilling the promise of 200 units of free power supply every month in tribal tandas,” he said.

The government has converted 165 tribal tandas having more than 500 people into panchayats and created Alluri Sitaramaraju and Parvatipuram Manym districts for the benefit of tribals, besides enacting law to reserve 50 per cent of the nominated posts and contracts for SC, ST, BC and minority communities.

Apart from medical colleges being built in tribal areas at Narsipatnam, Paderu and Parvathipuram, a tribal engineering college is also coming up at Kurupam to cater to the educational needs of the tribal youth.

Jagan tells officials for campaign on Arogyasri

1

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the Medical and Health Department officials to launch a massive public awareness campaign from September 15 on YSR Aarogyasri services.

During a review meeting on the department held at the Camp Office here on Thursday, the Chief Minister instructed them to publish a booklet on how to make use of Aarogyasri services and receive medical treatment. The booklets should be distributed to all households so that every family would have proper understanding about Aarogyasri.

The services of volunteers, village and ward secretariat staff, village clinics, ANMs and ASHA workers should be availed in creating awareness among people on how to get medical treatment under Aarogyasri from the nearest or network hospitals in the event of accidents or falling sick.

It is not just dissemination of detailed information to the people but it should also help them on making efficient use of Aarogyasri services, the Chief Minister said, adding there should not be a single person who doesn’t know how to make use of Aarogyasri.

Since the number of ailments and procedures being treated under Aarogyasri has gone up to 3255 from 1000 during the TDP rule, awareness should be created not only through mobile apps but also through other sources like call centres and booklets, he said.

Grievance-handling phone numbers also should be publicised so that people would be able to lodge complaints in case of problems or when they come across corrupt staff.

Aarogyasri network hospitals should conduct health camps in their jurisdiction with the coordination of village clinics and village and ward secretariat staff, he said.
Taking stock of the progress of new medical colleges, the Chief Minister suggested there should be a proper policy for efficient running of new medical colleges and Government hospitals.

The policy should aim at solving paucity of funds as proper management of medical colleges and speciality hospitals is as much important as their construction, he said, adding that funds reimbursed by the Government to the network hospitals under Aarogyasri can be made use of for their maintenance.

Similarly, Government educational institutions should also make use of the part of funds reimbursed under fee reimbursement for their maintenance.
The Chief Minister further directed the officials to develop SOPs to enable hospitals pay the post- treatment expenses to patients under Aarogya Asara on the discharge day.

Officials informed him that new medical colleges have been receiving tremendous response from students. People are joining new medical colleges even for pursuing self-finance courses, they said.

While admissions will take place in the new medical colleges at Vizianagaram, Machilipatnam, Rajahmundry, Eluru and Nandyala this year, the new colleges at Pulivendula, Paderu, Adoni, Markapur and Madnapalle will begin admissions next year. They said other medical colleges will be ready by 2025-26.

The Chief Minister asked them to expedite the construction of new medical colleges at Parvatipuram and Palakollu.

Jagan’s obsession for money drove 40 l construction workers on roads, says Lokesh

1

Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s obsession for money has driven 40 lakh construction workers onto the roads and for accumulating illegal assets he has ruined the lives of lakhs of workers, observed Nara Lokesh, TDP general secretary, on Wednesday.

The Jagan Government has looted the welfare fund of the construction workers amounting to a whooping Rs 2,000 cr, Lokesh said while interacting with trade union and builders representatives at the SM Convention Hall in Chinna Avutapalli of Gannavaram Assembly segment in the combined Krishna district during his Yuva Galam pada yatra on Wednesday. These representatives expressed serious concern that the construction sector suffered maximum damage in the past four years due to the faulty policies of the State Government.

Informing Lokesh that several builders, agents and workers have migrated to Hyderabad in the recent past, they said from Vijayawada alone over one lakh construction workers have moved to Telangana in search of livelihood. These representatives made an appeal to Lokesh to revive the sector once the TDP is back in the government.

Assuring them that the revised taxes will be brought down by the coming TDP regime, Lokesh told them that a better policy on sand will also be formulated to strengthen the building industry. “The policy of the TDP is to provide maximum benefits and subsidies to sectors that create maximum possible employment opportunities,” he added. Lokesh expressed confidence that the construction industry will certainly get past glory in the coming TDP government.

Lokesh announced the name of Yarlagedda Venkat Rao as TDP incharge of the Gannavaram Assembly segment and called upon the party activists to work unitedly to ensure that the TDP emerges victorious in the coming polls. Several other leaders from different parties, particularly from the ruling YSRCP, joined the TDP in the presence of Lokesh.

Regretting for supporting Vamsi in the past two elections denying an opportunity for several senior local leaders, Lokesh felt that one should always abide by ethics and policies adopted by their respective political parties. The TDP general secretary made it clear that the party firmly stands by those who are facing illegal cases.

Jagan to handed over Rs 300 cr worth of land to Vijayasai, says Ayyannapathrudu

1

TDP politburo member, Chintakayala Ayyannapatrudu on Tuesday made it clear that the TDP strongly opposes the handing over of the most holy land atop the Turlavada Konda (hills) to YSRCP MP, Vijaysai Reddy.

Ayyannapatrudu said that the people too are of the opinion that the Chief Minister always craves for money. Jagan spoiled the future of the State and the youth by robbing the State’s resources, he remarked. Even after observing all these plundering and robberies why intellectuals and learned personalities, people’s associations and the public are remaining silent, Ayyannapatrudu asked.

”Why those senior IAS and IPS officers, who have worked so efficiently during the TDP regime, are not raising their voice now,” the former minister said. He said that the Jagan Reddy Government has made all the arrangements to hand over very expensive Turlavada Konda land worth over Rs 300 cr in Bheemunipatnam near Visakhapatnam to Vijaysai Reddy.

The daughter of Vijaysai Reddy has made an appeal to the State Government to allocate 120 acres on the hillock for establishing a private university, Ayyannapatrudu revealed.

Following this, Jagan is getting ready to hand over the land worth over Rs 300 cr on a nominal price of a mere Rs 20 cr to the daughter of Vijaysai Reddy, he said. This is a holy land and people have a lot of faith that it belongs to Lord Narasimha Swamy.

It is shameful that the Minister for Endowments is openly admitting that 40,000 acres of temple lands in various parts of the State are not physically found though on record these lands are shown to be belonging to various temples, the TDP politburo member maintained. The YSRCP Government which borrowed Rs 25,000 cr from various financial agencies by mortgaging government lands, office buildings and other assets is trying to grab others lands too under the guidance of Vijaysai Reddy, he noted.

Naidu, Lokesh find fault with Jagan on Margadarsi witch-hunt

0

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and its general secretary Nara Lokesh on Monday found fault with chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for booking false cases against Margadarsi Chit Fund Private Limited. They said that Jagan Mohan Reddy was in frustration as people were turning against him ahead of the 2024 general election. Because of this frustration, Jagan Mohan Reddy was destroying Margadarsi, which was built in six decades on the trust of the people.

The TDP chief said that the attack on Margadarsi was nothing but an attack on Eenadu group. The attack on Margadarsi was aimed at hitting the financial roots of the Eenadu group, he said. He alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy was haunting his critics as his father.

Chandrababu Naidu said that destruction of institutions with high reputation for political reasons was not a healthy practice. He also blamed Jagan Mohan Reddy for trying to destroy the media for exposing his failures and giving facts to the people.

He called upon the people to understand the political witch-hunt politics of Jagan and teach him a lesson in the next general election. He said that Jagan’s actions were posing a threat to the very existence of democracy. His haunt on the media was not a healthy practice, the TDP chief said and asked the officials who were following the diktat of Jagan to restrain from destroying the institution.

Meanwhile, Lokesh, who entered Gannavaram Assembly constituency on Monday with his Yuva Galam padayatra blamed Jagan for targeting Ramoji Rao. He said that Ramoji Rao had been in public life for several decades and was never pointed out by any government.

He said that the media is expected to play an opposition role and blamed Jagan for not taking criticism of the media as democratic role of the fourth estate. Stating that Eenadu had been strictly following the media role, he heckled Jagan’s Sakshi media for its biased role. He said Sakshi had been spreading lies unlike Eenadu and maintained that people of the Telugu states are aware of the difference.

He called upon the people to condemn the attack on Eenadu and Margadarsi headed by Ramoji Rao.

1

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that one DA instalment would be paid by Dasara festival and asserted that the Guaranteed Pension Scheme (GPS) replacing CPS for retired Government employees would become a role model for other states.

In his address to the 21st State Council meeting of the APNGOs on Monday, the Chief Minister said that the Government is committed to the welfare of its employees who play crucial roles in the delivery system of welfare benefits.

“We make policy decisions, but you are the bridge between Government and people. Ultimately, you have to implement the policies for the benefit of people. This Government is committed to your well-being,” he said.

Jagan totally destabilised panchayat raj system, says Naidu

0

Pointing out that panchayats have special powers while sarpanches, MPTCs and ZPTCs are crucial in the system like the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister, former chief minister and TDP supremo, N Chandarbabu Naidu, said on Thursday that the Constitution has accorded special powers to panchayats too.

Addressing a meeting on the impaired panchayat system in the State as part of ‘Bhavishyathuku Guarantee’ programme, Naidu said that sarpanches get due respect only during the TDP regime. Calling upon the sarpanches to fight for their rights, including allocation of funds, Naidu said that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, should run away from the State with the serious struggle by the sarpanches.

Stating that the country has a three-tier system in which the Center performs its duties while the State Government looks after the administration and the panchayats ruled by sarpanches should govern themselves. “If the self-administration of the panchayats is so strong the villages will develop fast and the great Mahatma Gandhi had advocated panchayats as the foundation for the whole system,” Naidu explained.

Recalling that in his capacity as the chief minister he has given special powers to sarpanches in 2002, the TDP supremo said that party leader, Babu Rajendra Prasad, has been fighting since long for the rights of the sarpanches. Of the five crore population in the State, 3.5 crore are living in rural areas, he said and added that 12,920 panchayats have been set up with sarpanches for these people.

Jagan has totally undermined such a great panchayat system, Naidu regretted and stated that besides taking away their special powers, even the funds that are supposed to be utilised for the development of their villages have been diverted and being misused. Pointing out that the Finance Commission decides how much funds need to be released for panchayats, what is the share of the Centre and the State, the former chief minister said that the powers to spend these funds are accorded with the sarpanches.

“Only sarpanches and the grama sabhas have the right to spend the NREGA funds for creating assets to their villages like tanks, constructions and panchayat buildings,” Naidu maintained. Will this Chief Minister, who transferred the rights of the sarpanches to the local volunteers and his own partymen, allow anyone to interfere in his own powers, he asked.

Recalling how the TDP government had allocated funds for panchayats and how encouraged the development of the rural areas, Naidu stated that even seven panchayats have got national awards for the developmental works executed by them. “I have given highest respect to the sarpanches and increased their status. But all this remained as history,” he regretted.

Naidu felt an immediate need for the sarpanches to wage a war against this Government to get back their rights. “Now the time has come for all of you to uphold the decency and dignity of the panchayats and retain the system and it is your duty,” Naidu said and called upon the sarpanches to begin their war right now. The former chief minister clarified the doubts raised by various sarpanches at the meeting.

Jagan is a curse to farmers, says Naidu

0

TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said that chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is a curse to the farmers in the state. Chandrababu Naidu interacted with the farmers at Edida village of Mandapet mandal in Dr B R Ambedkar Konaseema district.

Naidu said that Jagan Mohan Reddy had failed to provide irrigation water to the farmers. He said that the chief minister had destroyed all the irrigation projects in the state. He referred to the Pattiseema project and said that the project had supplied water from Godavri to Krishna river during the TDP regime.

The same project was now not in use while the farmers of Krishna delta were suffering for lack of water. The seedbeds in the Krishna delta were getting dried up as there was no water, he said.

Chandrababu Naidu said that Jagan Mohan Reddy had failed to provide gunny bags to the farmers in the last four agriculture seasons. The farmers have lost heavily as the government did not procure crops nor did it help the farmers to sell the crop in the open market.

“A chief minister who could not supply gunny bags is talking about building three capitals,” Chandrababu Naidu said and wondered whether the farmers were buying his lies.

Later, Chandrababu Naidu addressed a public meeting in Mandapet where he came down heavily on Jagan Mohan Reddy for not coming to the rescue of the farming community. He alleged that Jagan was cheating the farmers by showing the Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs) where nothing is happening for the farmers.

He said that the farming community has been in great loss during the last four years. The government had never helped the farmers and pushed them into the debt trap, he added. He called upon the farmers to reject the YSR Congress and Jagan Mohan Reddy in the next election.

We made social justice a reality, says Jagan

1

AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has asserted that social justice has become a reality in the State besides empowerment of weaker sections and rolling out of welfare measures with transparency.

In his Independence Day address at the Indira Gandhi Stadium on Tuesday, after hoisting the national flag and taking salute, the Chief Minister listed out welfare and development achievements of the government.

He said that the Government has been striving to usher in Grama Swaraj visualized by Mahatma Gandhi by changing the face of agriculture, industry and services.

Andhra Pradesh is the only state that has brought in major changes in the rural administrative system through 15,000 village and ward secretariats, digital libraries, RBKs and the volunteer system to extend quick civic services to the people in full transparency, he said.

The changes have helped reverse the decades-old corrupt administrative system and Rs. 2,31,000 crore has been transferred through DBT in the last 50 months in full transparency.

The Government has also displayed its commitment to decentralization of administration by increasing the number of districts to 26 from 13 to fulfill the wishes of three regions of the State.

The Chief Minister said that the Government has been waging a war on untouchability which has assumed new garb.

“Opposition to introduction of English medium in schools, allotment of house sites, and construction of houses for the poor is also untouchability. The war will continue till justice is done,” he said. Implementation of a slew of welfare schemes as part of Navaratnalu has proved that social justice could be a reality.

The Chief Minister listed out the changes brought in AP in six sectors after YSRCP came to power.

The Chief Minister said that AP is the only state which has enacted a law to reserve 50 % of the nominated posts and contracts to SCs, STs, BCs and minorities for rendering social justice to the weaker sections.

On the industrial front also, the State is marching ahead by standing first in the country in the ease of doing business (EoDB), attracting Rs.13, 42,000 crore investments in the global investors meet at Visakhapatnam, he said, adding that 127 heavy industries were established in AP in the last four years with Rs. 67,196 crore investment providing employment to 84, 607 persons.

The Chief Minister gave away police medals to several IPS and other police officials for extending meritorious services in discharge of duties.
