Chandrababu thanks Modi, Shah for correction in Andhra map

0

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for publication of corrected version of the India map by the Centre, showing Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh.

The Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) national President, who had used some harsh words in attacking Modi-Shah during the election campaign, addressed a letter to Amit Shah, who is also the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

In his letter, the Leader of Opposition wrote that people of Andhra Pradesh were disappointed over the map published by Survey of India on November 2 as Amaravati did not find a place on the map.

He recalled in his letter that Prime Minister Modi had laid foundation stone for Amaravati on October 22, 2015.

Naidu, who was then the Chief Minister, pointed out that the TDP MPs raised the issue in the Parliament on November 21 and the Ministry of Home Affairs took expeditious action and corrected the error in no time.

This is the first time since the TDP’s crushing defeat in the elections that Naidu has written a letter to Shah thanking him and Modi. During the poll campaign, the TDP chief had gone all out in attacking the two leaders. The BJP leaders had also trained guns on Naidu.

The development comes amid Naidu’s efforts to mend fences with the BJP. He has regretted snapping ties with the saffron party and is reported to be ready to once again join hands.

Amaravati, the brainchild of Naidu, was missing from the earlier map published by Survey of India. This triggered a war of words between ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and main opposition TDP. Naidu’s party had blamed YSRCP and had alleged that this shows the government wants to dump Amaravati as the capital and choose some other location as the state capital. YSRCP leaders had claimed that the previous TDP government had not notified Amaravati as the capital.

No wealth for AP without Amaravati: Naidu slogan

0

Wealth creation, industrial development and employment generation are the favourite subjects of TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu. But present chief minister Jaganmohan Reddy’s priorities are solely for Cash Transfer Welfare schemes with long-term goals for monopolising votebanks. Demolition of Amaravati Capital City is entirely a personal issue that Jagan Reddy doesn’t want the Naidu stamp on future Andhra development.

But Jagan Reddy is failing to come up with alternative plans to develop another city for Andhra Capital. No doubt, there would be no development and no economic activity if there is no well-defined Capital City. Jagan is delaying Capital shifting fearing backlash from all sections of his own voters.

As CM is stuck in his own problems, Chandrababu Naidu is picking up a new slogan. That is relating to the future prospects of AP. Naidu says now that Andhra will have no scope to create wealth if there is no Amaravati. Indeed, Amaravati land pooling and overall project development have global appeal. International investors came forward to develop it. Naidu says Amaravati has potential to create Rs. 1 lakh cr wealth within itself. Analysts say that Jagan can never show an effective alternative for Amaravati in terms of economic potential and future prospects.

AP Police harassing TDP to win YCP favour: Naidu

0

TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu has begun bringing pressure on the AP Police on the ongoing non-stop politically motivated cases being filed against TDP leaders in the state. These days, the police are harassing TDP activists when they are coming to attend the party programmes. Notices are being given to TDP leaders in the name of Police Act 30. Naidu especially referred to 13 police cases filed against Ex MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar with political motivation.

The TDP boss demanded an explanation from the West Godavari SP on the rationale behind the political harassment. He asserted that in all these cases, it was clear that the police officers are solely working to win the favours of the ruling YCP leaders.

The police didn’t even give permission to Chandrababu convoy in Tanuku town. The police are deliberately creating a fear psychosis among the TDP leaders and activists. Naidu expressed concern that cases are being filed against even people’s organisations leaders who are supporting the TDP agitation.

Jagan destroying AP future deliberately: Naidu

0

TDP National President N Chandrababu Naidu expressed concern over the withdrawal of Singapore government from the Amaravati Start-up Area Project. This will further erode the corporate companies’ trust in the state. Naidu said that AP has lost this project because of mindless act of YCP government which has cancelled a world class promising project. He said that CM Jagan Reddy is causing greater damage to AP people than expected. CM actions will destroy the future of many generations of Andhras.

Unfortunately, while the whole country looked up to Amaravati project as a highly potential global city with international investment opportunities, Jagan Reddy Circar simply killed the project with no hesitation. It has now given clarity that the Capital City will be undoubtedly shifted out of Amaravati. Jagan promised to develop Amaravati during elections. But YCP says this promise is not there in Navaratnalu.

Ironically, Amaravati is being destroyed despite severe criticism from the industrialists. Infosys ex director Mohandas unhesitatingly said that Jagan is destroying AP single-handedly. No honest industrialist will make investments in the state.

Jagan proved Chandrababu was right!

0

One may make any number of baseless allegations or resort to wild criticism against others in politics to gain political mileage but when it comes to reality, what it matters is truth and practicality

AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy too realised this when he met union petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan in Vijayawada recently.

Jagan used to level baseless allegations and wild criticism on Naidu on the issue of setting up petrochemical complex in Kakinada at a cost of Rs 30,000 crore, when he was Leader of Opposition.

The Centre wanted AP government to pay Rs 5,000 crore as viability gap funding (VGF) to launch this project. Naidu as CM then fought with Centre to reduce VGF to Rs 1,500 crore as a revenue deficit state like AP after bifurcation cannot afford to pay Rs 5,000 crore. This led to delay in the project. Jagan then used to accuse Naidu of delaying this project deliberately.

Now, Jagan became CM. When he met Dharmendra Pradhan last week, Jagan made the same request urging him to reduce VGF and start the project immediately,

Dharmendra Pradhan told Jagan that earlier Naidu also used to make the same request due to which the project got delayed.

Jagan said AP’s financial condition continues to be worse and as such AP cannot afford to pay Rs 5,000 crore. Pradhan told him that he will take up this issue with PM Modi and he cannot assure anything on this on his own.

With this, it became clear that this project got delayed due to Centre’s insistence on Rs 5,000 crore VGF and not because of Naidu, as alleged by Jagan.

Now Jagan realised that he has nothing much to do on this project except seeking the help of Centre like Naidu did.

YCP Ministers have no proof but only allegations against Naidu

3

Even after five months of power, the YCP continues to level allegations against Chandrababu Naidu family but not able to prove them. Now, the ruling party leaders once again accused Naidu and Lokesh of trying to grab the multi-crore prime properties of Agrigold. Angry over this, Lokesh demanded that CM Jagan Reddy and his Ministers should at least come out with the proof of their family involvement in Agrigold irregularities. The answer from the Ministers is very strange. They are saying that Lokesh has no moral right to ask for proofs as he became a minister during his father’s time through the backdoor.

It’s clear that CM Jagan Reddy has failed to show proofs to file cases against the Naidu family for over five months. Prior to election, the CM made countless allegations including Agrigold issue. His party leaders just followed him. All these days, Jagan Circar is filing cases against all powerful TDP leaders but it is not able to take such action against Naidu and Lokesh till now.

The TDP is now challenging Jagan openly to prove his allegations. Amid this, Speaker Tammineni Sitaram warned that they would make Naidu stand naked for his Agrigold scam. Reacting quickly, Lokesh gave a strong counter asking whether YCP leaders will make CM naked if he fails to give proofs against Naidu family.

Paint your faces with your party colours: Naidu tells YCP leaders

0

TDP National President N Chandrababu Naidu announced his decision to hold a day-long hunger strike against CM Jagan Reddy oppressive sand policy. He expressed concern that much more damage might be done to Andhra state because of one bad person coming to power in the state. Naidu asked how the Jagan Reddy government can get all the panchayat offices in the state with the YCP flag colours.

Very unfortunately, the National flag colours are erased and YCP flag colours are used in its place. Naidu wondered how Jagan Reddy uses people’s money to paint his party colours on panchayat offices all over the state. Naidu lost his cool and told YCP leaders to paint their faces with their party colours instead of doing that to government offices. The ruling party leaders may go around with their painted faces if they are so madly in love with their party.

The TDP boss said that he played a crucial role in convincing Vajpayee to make APJ Abdul Kalam as the President of India because Kalam was an inspiring scientist and a selfless servant of India. But YCP Regime dared to remove Kalam name from AP students Pratibha Puraskar awards.

Naidu extends support to Pawan ‘Long March’ protest

0

Former CM Chandrababu Naidu announced his party support to Jana Senani Pawan Kalyan’s massive protest against Jagan Circar in Visakhapatnam on November 3. Naidu said that top leaders from the TDP will take part in Pawan’s Long March protest against Jagan sand policy. He assured TDP solidarity to whoever stands up and fights against the YCP government excesses.

Ironically, Pawan Kalyan gave a lot of trouble to the TDP in its previous regime by accusing its leaders of running sand mafia in the state. However, the TDP boss ignored those remarks and decided to support Pawan event in the larger interests of the state. Senani has taken a very serious stand against YCP Circar after seeing how 30 lakh construction workers were not having work in the past five months due to draconian sand policy.

Sand shortage part of Jagannatakam, says Naidu

0

TDP boss N Chandrababu Naidu said that five construction workers would not have committed suicide if CM Jaganmohan Reddy changed his sand policy. The so-called sand shortage and skyrocketing prices are nothing but the gimmicks of the ruling YCP leaders. Naidu said that the online sand sales are all part of ‘Jagannatakam’ that is going on in Andhra Pradesh. These comments are maid amid allegations that YCP leaders are selling sand in in black market and also transporting AP sand to neighbouring state capitals for quick money.

Naidu further said that CM Jagan doesn’t know ABCD of irrigation sector. It is not true that the floods in the rivers have caused sand shortage. It is only because of ‘Jaganmaya’ (tactics) that the sand crisis has deepened in the state leading to slump in construction sector.

Amid increasing suicides, Jagan held a review meeting with revenue and police officials. He reminded that he had already instructed the District Collectors and SPs to closely monitor sand mining to take action against illegal transportation. Jagan also directed the officials to conduct a ‘sand week’ to solve sand shortage and boost construction activity to create works for construction workers.

Jagan’s next target TDP MLA Gottipati Ravi

0

All of a sudden, TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu called and held special talks with Addanki MLA Gottipati Ravikumar in the party headquarters. This has raised lot of curiosity in political circles. Is Gottipati the next target of CM Jaganmohan Reddy in his current mission to strip TDP of its opposition party status? Already, Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi resigned from the TDP following harassment by the police and the local YCP leaders.

Gottipati Ravikumar and his family members have got business interests in granite mining. Recently, the Jagan Reddy government turned its focus on this. The vigilance department officials have conducted enquiries on the granite quarries and its allied polishing industries. They have also submitted a report to the government. It’s expected that serious action will be taken against the quarries belonging to TDP MLA if he doesn’t surrender to the YCP.

There is also caste angle to all this. CM Jagan has given indirect orders to the Ministers and MLAs to identify and cancel approvals of the mines and other units belonging to one particular caste persons. It’s because this caste is inseparably associated with the TDP. Just like in the case of Vamsi, Jagan is going to achieve his dual goals of casteist and political harassment against Gottipati as well.

Jagan sketch to remove Naidu opposition leader status

0

These days, the biggest questions before YCP Regime are how to divert public attention from its government’s failures on sand, liquor, Capital and failure to deliver on Navaratnalu promises. CM Jaganmohan Reddy is also of the opinion that his government’s image has dipped to a considerable low in just five months. Against this backdrop, his advisers suggested a new strategy. This is to strip TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu of his opposition leader status.

If six MLAs resign from the TDP, it will eventually lead to Naidu losing his status. Then, he is just like any other MLA in the Assembly without special facilities or privileges. In a state Assembly, 10 per cent of total MLA seats is necessary to get opposition status. In the AP Assembly having 175 MLA seats, it will require 18 MLA seats for getting the Opposition party status. The TDP won 23 MLA seats in 2019 general election.

Already, Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi has announced his resignation from MLA seat. Now, the ruling YCP leaders are on the hunt to find another five TDP MLAs who have weaknesses. The same strategy would be used against them as in the case of Vamsi. The local police and official machinery will be used to harass these MLAs till they resign from their MLA seats. Once by-elections are held, that will be another chance for YCP to prove its strength once again.

Naidu wake-up call to Jagan on another suicide

0

Yet another construction worker committed suicide in Guntur unable to find work to feed his family. Plumber Polepalli Venkatesh has not been able to find work for the past five months because of huge sand scarcity that brought construction works to a standstill. Before taking his own life, he took a selfie video. He expressed lot of sadness over his inefficiency to go and find work outside of construction industry. Venkatesh made an emotional appeal to his elder brother and his wife to take care of his son. He asked his wife not to remember him long and get re-married again to lead a happy life.

Forwarding this suicide video, Ex CM Chandrababu Naidu made a strong appeal to the Jaganmohan Reddy government to wake up and create job opportunities for the poor workers. Naidu demanded that the government pay immediate compensation to all those workers who are without work and who cannot earn livelihood for their families.
The worker’s suicide started a big debate in social media. The ruling YCP is giving floods in Krishna river as a reason for sand shortage. But the same problem is there in Telangana, Karnataka and so on but there is no big crisis in those states. There are allegations that an online sand mafia is reason for huge sand shortage and its skyrocketing prices.

Naidu tells Vamsi to continue fight against YCP

0

TDP boss N Chandrababu Naidu gave his reaction to Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi’s decision to quit politics and resign from MLA seat. Naidu termed it as a politically incorrect decision. Instead, the TDP leaders being harassed by YCP should carry out their united struggle against the oppressive and undemocratic activities of the ruling party. Naidu advised Vamsi to continue his fight against the cases and harassment of his followers.

Naidu told Vamsi that the fake house site pattas case filed against him is not a legally valid one. It was a good decision to help the poor people as part of the TDP policy to provide house sites. There is nothing to fear in this respect. Naidu further told Vamsi that if quit politics, the YCP would not leave him and it would continue its unconstitutional activities to harass him. The spirit to fight back is the best option at this point.

Chandrababu Naidu referred to the Vamsi case as another example of how Jagan Circar is filing false cases to oppress and suppress the opposition leaders all over the state. Naidu told leaders like Vamsi that he would stand behind them and give all support possible in such difficult times.

Botsa asks why Naidu couldn’t build Capital

2

AP Minister Botsa Satyanarayana took strong objection to Chandrababu Naidu’s statement that CM Jagan stopped Amaravati works as it would bring good name for Naidu. Botsa described it as a ridiculous statement as there is nothing Naidu had done for Capital City. On the other hand, Chandrababu brought Rs. 1 lakh crore loans but failed to construct one single permanent building in Amaravati itself.

Botsa demanded an explanation from Naidu what he did with the massive loans. Naidu did nothing but pushed the state into debts. The Minister asked why no building was constructed though all approvals were given. Did anybody make the buildings built by Naidu disappear into thin air?

Botsa asserted that the constructions in Amavarati were against rules and guidelines. Chandrababu has damaged all the systems for his selfish gains. The Minister said that greater harm was done to Andhras during TDP rule than at the time of united AP bifurcation. Given what he has done, Chandrababu has no right to pose questions to Jaganmohan Reddy on the Capital city. Botsa said that the Capital should be built for all people of the state but not for a single community.

Jagan killed Andhra’s golden goose: Naidu

0

AP Opposition leader and TDP National President N Chandrababu Naidu has launched a scathing attack on the policies of CM Jaganmohan Reddy on the AP Capital, misuse of police machinery, irrigation projects, etc. Naidu deplored that Jagan’s ignorance had led to the killing of a golden goose like Amaravati Capital City. It had all the potential to become one of the attractive global cities. It came up in a virgin rural area of 53,000 acres adjoining the perennial Krishna river. Moreover, Amaravati has got 10,000 acres surplus land which can be commercially exploited by Andhra. Naidu said that Amaravati would have generated all the revenue by itself to fund its future development projects and create a vibrant economy all over the state.

Naidu began a direct attack on the AP DGP saying that Gowtham Sawang was preaching him on law and order issues though he served as the Chief Minister for 14 years. Till now, a 100 cases were filed against the TDP MLAs, ex MLAs, ex Ministers, etc. Chintamaneni Prabhakar is being harassed with case after case. Ex Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao was hounded till he committed suicide. The DGP should have to answer for the blatant misuse of SC, ST Atrocities cases against TDP leaders and sympathisers.

Chandrababu objects to DGP’s ‘Media Show’ comment

0

AP Opposition leader and TDP National President took strong objection to DGP Gowtham Sawang’s comment on the police chases and harassment of TDP leaders in the state. Naidu said that it was not correct on the part of DGP to describe the TDP fears as a Media Show at a time when the opposition party leaders are losing their lives. Naidu asked the DGP whether the suicide of former Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao is also a media show in the eyes of AP Police. Was it not because of non-stop harassment with police cases and insults that Kodela committed suicide? Quite unusually, the ruling YCP leaders are blatantly misusing the police machinery to file the SC, ST atrocities cases against the opposition leaders.

Naidu reacted on DGP comment during his current tour in the Srikakulam district. He is holding assembly segment wise meetings. Naidu asserted that the TDP would not be afraid and their party knows how to protect its activists. He told the local leaders that he could not spend much time on party activities while in power but now that gap will be filled.

Is Naidu mending fences with Modi?

0

For the first time after general election, AP Ex CM Chandrababu Naidu began talking positively about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Naidu is now saying that he never has any personal differences with Modi. If the TDP fought with the BJP, it was only for the rights of Andhra. TDP boss’s statement is creating lot of political curiosity on the future coming together of BJP and TDP leaders against Jagan Circar.

It was a fact that Naidu made an all out attack on Modi during the height of 2019 election. At one point of time, Naidu stood in the front rows and threatened to expose the nexus between Election Commission of India and the BJP and its friendly parties. Naidu also challenged the authenticity of EVMs and demanded the return to traditional ballot system. It embarrassed Modi.

Now, Naidu is obviously making a tactical retreat with regard to this stand towards BJP. By not supporting Congress in Huzurnagar, he has already set the record straight. In the coming days, the TDP is feeling the necessity to take along with it the BJP AP leaders in order to check Jagan’s suppressive rule. Interestingly, CM Jagan is not longer having that previous good relations with Modi and Shah going by absence of any Central support to his Navaratnalu.

Naidu left behind financial mess, says Jagan government

0

With the State Bank of India raising concerns about Andhra Pradesh’s rising outstanding debts and sovereign guarantees, the state’s Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSR Congress Party government on Friday blamed previous Chandrababu Naidu regime for the financial mess.

Finance Minister Buggana Rajendernath said the financial indiscipline of the previous Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government was spilling over and it would take time to undo the damage.

“The previous government has left behind a legacy of huge debts stemming from off-budget borrowings and loans from various corporations and extravagant spending and clearing the dues of their favoured contractors while mounting the dues to public services and other utilities,” he told reporters here.

On the news in a section of media about SBI letter on the loan taken by Andhra Pradesh Power Finance Corporation (APPFC), Rajendernath said that it was part of regular correspondence. He said he had no knowledge as to how the letter was leaked.

The SBI, in its letter date September 30, questioned the veracity of the guarantees offered by the state government for Rs 3,000 crore term loan for APPFC.

The Finance Minister said the ratings will be given by agencies like Crisil and Brickwork who have their own basis on assessing the credit worthiness. He pointed out that in January, Crisil gave A+ while Brickwork gave A- rating.

Stating that the outstanding guarantees by the state rose from Rs 9,665 cores in 2017 to Rs 35,964 cores in 2018, he said this was the period of the previous government.

Rajendernath alleged that the combination of then Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and then Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu always played truant with the state finances. He said it was the previous government which went out of the way to draw supplementary grants, took loans from all the corporations including Civil Supplies and has the dubious distinction of drawing Rs 5,000 crore on single day.

The minister said huge amounts were paid to their eight favoured contractors while public utility bills like mid-day meals, fees reimbursement, land acquisition, power distribution companies, hospital subsidies, and outsourcing employees’ salaries were kept pending.

“The pending bills and amounts drawn before elections were piled up on us and their mismanagement was carried forward and has fallen on us to clear. Now it is the same TDP leaders who are talking about financial management,” he said.

Rajendranath said the previous government left the state finances high and dry with total dues to distribution companies to a tune of Rs 14,857 cores and signed Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with companies with terms heavily loaded in favour of the latter.

He said was premature to judge the financial situation of the government which is just four montsh old and it takes at least one year to gauge the performance. On October 7, the government went for a routine borrowing of Rs 1,000 crore but it was oversubscribed at Rs 2,005 crores which shows the confidence Reserve Bank of India has in the state government, he said.

HC orders probe: Janasena petition on Naidu

Jana Sena leader Pentapati Pulla Rao expected political tremors in national capital following his petition in Delhi High Court. He asked for a full-fledged probe into irregularities in Polavaram project during Chandrababu Regime. But the HC just handed over his petition to the Union Water Resources Department and ordered it to conduct a probe. Already, the Water Resources Ministry and the Polavaram Project Authority have given a clean chit to Naidu in this matter.

Pulla Rao is a senior leader but he missed a simple point that Naidu has not been badly caught in any scam or controversy in his 40 years political industry. Rao should have remembered the fact that the Central Water Resources officials have outright defended Naidu when CM Jaganmohan Reddy complained about TDP scam in Polavaram.

Analysts say that in big irrigation projects, escalation of cost and R&R packages would always be locked in some controversy or other. Leaders get caught only in blatant violations and unexplainable financial transactions. This is what has happened during YSR Regime that eventually led to arrests of many politicians and IAS officers in CBI assets cases. Pulla Rao has obviously not made any new complaints in his petition.

Kotamreddy arrest: Naidu not acted against Chintamaneni

0

Political comparisons are being made now between the present Jagan Regime and the previous Chandrababu Circar on how they reacted to excesses indulged in by their respective MLAs. The ruling YCP got its MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy arrested for the attack on Venkatachalam MPDO Sarala. But no such action was taken against TDP MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar for attacking a woman officer during Naidu regime during TDP Rule.

Just like Kotamreddy now, Chintamaneni was involved in many controversies and cases at that time. But the then TDP Government preferred to turn a blind eye to his excesses. YCP leaders say that this clearly shows the difference between the unbiased rule of Jagan and the partisan regime of Naidu. On their part, the TDP leaders say that Chintamaneni never crossed his limits like personally targetting government officials. Here, Kotamreddy is going to the residences of victims and subjecting them to terror in front of his followers.

Analysts say that the two incidents show how today’s politicians are becoming impatient and intolerable. The arrest of Kotamreddy is also a mere eyewash as he came out on bail in no time.
