Bhola Shankar has a very poor opening Worldwide as the film has collected a distributor share of 17.50 Cr (15.5 Cr excluding GST). The film has a very poor opening, to say the least. Starting from Noon Shows where the film has opened with low numbers it has dropped for Matinees. Evening & Second shows were driven by advances. Word of mouth is very poor for the film and will struggle to do even a 30cr share in its full run.

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s latest offering Bhola Shankar is turning out to be a huge embarrassment for the actor and the whole team. Chiranjeevi is trolled and criticized like never before for the film. Even the hardcore Mega fans have opened their mouths and they are requesting Megastar not to attempt films like Bhola Shankar in the future. For the first time, a Megastar’s film was unsold in most of the regions and the producer had to release it on his own.

Story:
Bhola Shankar alias Shankar (Chiranjeevi) relocates to Kolkata from Hyderabad for the education of his sister Maha (Keerthy Suresh). Shankar works as a taxi driver when his sister attends college. Alex (Tarun Arora) is a gangster who leads a team that is into women trafficking. The cops are on a hunt for Alex and his gang. Shankar traces some of the gang members of Alex and he informs the cops. Alex and his gang target Shankar after the incident. Soon, Shankar kills some of the gang members and he reveals that he is in Kolkata to assassinate the gang of Alex. The rest of Bhola Shankar is all about the real story of Shankar and his rivalry with the gang of Alex.
Analysis :
Vedhalam film released eight years ago and it was remade by the team of Bhola Shankar. The narration is completely outdated and Bhola Shankar sounds like a film that released two decades ago. The film is a routine and predictable commercial entertainer that goes on a regular template. The entertainment throughout the first half is irritating. The episodes of Vennela Kishore reminds us of the Jabardasth comedy.
The entire track of Tammannaah is useless and it makes no sense. Keerthy Suresh has nothing much to do in the first half of Bhola Shankar. Chiranjeevi is seen throughout the first half but there is no magic in his role. Meher Ramesh took the film to Kolkata but misses the nativity. The first half of Bhola Shankar is a complete disappointment.
The second half introduces the role of Bhola and his role is slightly better than Kolkata Shankar. Megastar tried hard to imitate Pawan Kalyan and his mannerisms. Chiranjeevi’s Kushi scene with Sreemukhi will trigger trolls and is a huge disappointment. Sreemukhi’s role is poorly designed. Bhola Shankar is the story of his sister but the core emotion looks pale and lacks seriousness. The real story gets completed by the pre-climax scenes and the climax portions are dragged.
Performances:
Chiranjeevi is a great entertainer and he proved this with his roles. There is nothing great or exciting in the role of Bhola Shankar. Chiranjeevi does it in his style but it doesn’t connect to the audience because of the poor writing. Chiranjeevi looked energetic on screen. Keerthy Suresh did a decent job in the assigned role. Sushanth has nothing much interesting. Anchor Rashmi danced with Megastar in a song. The roles of Tamannaah and Sreemukhi are completely wasted. Getup Sreenu, Lobo, Hyper Adhi, Bithiri Sathi, Venu and others have nothing much to do.
The songs composed by Mahati Swara Sagar are a huge disappointment. Except Bhola Mania, all the other songs disappoint the audience. The background score by Mahati Swara Sagar is equally subpar. The cinematography work looks good. The dialogues of Bhola Shankar are poorly written. Meher Ramesh is returning back to direction after a decade and his work remains outdated. His routine making, poor writing makes Bhola Shankar an outdated film.
Verdict:
Bhola Shankar is a cliched and outdated film. Second half is slightly better than the very bad first half. Meher Ramesh delivers even worse than the low expectations. Overall, a forgettable film for all involved.

Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar USA Premiers Today

Undavalli’s masterful counter did more damage to YSRCP
The recent exchange of words between Chiranjeevi and the YSRCP leaders has ignited a fervent debate in Telugu states. However, masterful counter of Ex member of parliament Undavalli Arun Kumar seems to have done more damage to the YSRCP . Here’s a closer look at the situation.
It is widely known that during the 200-day celebration of “Valtheru Veeraiya,” Chiranjeevi shared an advice directed at YSRCP leaders. He urged them to prioritize developmental pursuits over snubbing the Telugu Film industry. However, this statement of Chiranjeevi was met with criticism and reproach from the YSRCP camp. YSRCP leaders like Gudivada Amarnath, Perni Nani, Kodali Nani, Botsa, Kottu, and Roja voiced their disagreement with varying degrees of fervor. Some used derogatory words indirectly aimed at the Megastar. Roja even issued a challenge to Chiranjeevi, suggesting his return to politics if he intended to engage in political discussions . However, such a retort holds little weight considering the fundamental democratic right of free expression. The YSRCP leaders even attempted to corner Chiranjeevi by reminding the public of his role as a union minister during the tumultuous Andhra Pradesh bifurcation.
Although a few leaders, including Ganta Sreenivas and Kothapalli Subbarayudu, who were associated with Chiranjeevi during the PRP era, rallied in support, their voices seemed subdued amidst the more vociferous YSRCP members. The common people , particularly those active on social media platforms, rallied around Chiranjeevi and posed pertinent questions to YSRCP leaders, mirroring the concerns raised by the megastar. Still , Chiranjeevi’s supporters believed that these counterarguments failed to make a resounding impact against the sharp remarks of loud mouthed YSRCP leaders.
In this context, Undavalli’s press conference marked a pivotal turning point. Revered for his balanced assessments, Undavalli has previously acknowledged the achievements of Jagan, Pawan, and even CBN. His endorsement of Chiranjeevi’s stance further underscored the gravity of the matter. He affirmed, “Chiranjeevi’s words carry sincerity. He played a pivotal role in securing the status of Hyderabad as a joint capital for an entire decade. Expressing dissent against one’s own government while serving as a union minister is no small feat, and Chiranjeevi displayed courage in doing so. Now, with a lack of political power, he is advocating for the government’s commitment to special status and other rightful promises.” Undavalli also reminded that the “Telugu Film Industry” may be a small bird, but not the Megastar.
Undavalli’s well-considered and insightful perspective resonated deeply with neutral people who were just following the issue without supporting Chiranjeevi or YSRCP. Political observers believing that Undavalli’s press meet in support of Chiranjeevi caused more damage to YSRCP than all other counter arguments put together.
AP Government has a shock for Bhola Shankar Team

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s next film in Bhola Shankar, the remake of Tamil super hit film Vedhalam. During the pre-release event of the film, Chiranjeevi responded about picking up remakes. “There is a discussion about taking up remakes. There is nothing wrong in doing remakes if the content is strong. I decided to remake Vedhalam as I wanted to take the content of the film to the Telugu audience. Most of the films are available on OTT platforms but Vedhalam is not on any digital platform and most of the audience did not watch the film” told Megastar.

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Bholaa Shankar pre-release event was held in Hyderabad and it was graced by several special guests, other than the film’s core team. Chiranjeevi stated that he is always there to encourage new and young talent.
Chiranjeevi thanked his fans for being his support system for four long decades. He also thanked the audience of this generation for showing their admiration towards him. He revealed the reason for doing Vedhalam remake.
“Vedhalam is a good story. Moreover, the movie is not streaming on any OTT platform. There are some scenes where I imitated Pawan Kalyan. You’ll see Pawan Kalyan in me in those scenes. They will be an eye feast for all of you. The combination scenes of me with Keerthy worked out well. Tamannaah’s humour is another big asset. Mahati will become a bigger music director than his father Mani Sharma.
