Telangana’s Ganga Jamuni Tehzeeb a role model: KCR

0

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has said that the Ganga Jamuni Tehzeeb of Telangana State is a role model for the cultural life of the world.

Ganga Jamuni Tehzeeb is used as a euphemism for the fusion of Hindu and Muslim cultures.

The chief minister conveyed his greetings to people of the State on the occasion of International Cultural Day being celebrated on Friday (May 21).

The chief minister, in his message, said that culture is a mirror to the progress made by the human civilization. Indian culture represents unity in diversity, despite its differences in religion, region, creed, community and wide range of languages, dialects, food habits, lifestyles and it is the finest of all cultures in the world, he said.

Rao claimed that Telangana State is the centre of various cultures in the country, a platform for different lifestyles and often regarded as mini India. The cultural life here is like a thread in a garland.

He said the state government has given top priority for the cultural affairs and had been implementing several programmes and schemes and also showcasing the greatness of Telangana language, literature, and culture from time to time. The state government is also highlighting the beauty of the dialects, traditions, existence of the downtrodden communities, the CM added.

After Gandhi, KCR to visit Warangal MGM Hospital

1

A day after visiting Gandhi Hospital, Hyderabad on Wednesday, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has decided to visit MGM Government Hospital in Warangal on Friday.

KCR’s sudden visit to Gandhi Hospital on Wednesday for the first time after he became CM seven years ago has created a sensation.

Gandhi Hospital has been converted as a dedicated Covid Hospital.

Without wearing PPE Kit, KCR went around Emergency, ICU and general wards in Gandhi where Covid patients are undergoing treatment. He spoke to Covid patients by just wearing mask though doctors cautioned him about wearing PPE kit as CM is 67 year old and already contracted coronavirus recently and recovered under home isolation.

But KCR’s visit to Gandhi has boosted the morale of doctors, nurses and other health staff besides Covid patients.

KCR’s visit earned praises from several quarters. Enthused with this, KCR has decided to visit government hospitals in various districts and boost the morale of health staff and Covid patients.

It will be an advantage for KCR even for political reasons. After he sacked health minister Eatala Rajender from cabinet on May 2, he has not appointed any health minister. KCR himself took over health portfolio.

TRS leaders feel that KCR’s visit to government hospitals in these Covid times will bring good image for CM as well as the party besides minimising the impact of Eatala’s ouster from the cabinet.

Can KCR eclipse Eatala’s image of ‘best health minister’?

1

Eatala Rajender has earned the name of ‘best health minister’ in Telangana.

Eatala remained active ever since Coronavirus broke out in Telangana in March 2020.

When Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, ministers, TRS MLAs and leaders confined to their homes during corona pandemic, Eatala was seen reviewing Corona situation every day with officials, visiting government hospitals, interacting with doctors, nurses and patients there to instill confidence among them.

Eatala visited government hospitals in almost all the districts, inspected facilities and infrastructure available at hospitals and tried to address the deficiencies if any.

Eatala working style as health minister round the clock during corona pandemic earned praises even from Opposition parties.

Opposition leaders Akbaruddin Owaisi, Congress leaders Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Revanth Reddy etc openly praised Eatala for working tirelessly during corona pandemic.

However, Eatala was recently sacked by KCR from his cabinet on ‘political grounds’. After Eatala’s ouster, everyone is feeling his absence during these difficult Covid times and also slackness in health department.

KCR is now trying to mitigate this impression that health department got weakened after Eatala’s ouster.

KCR himself visited Gandhi Hospital on Wednesday for the first time since he became CM seven years ago in 2014.

He also directed all his ministers to visit government hospitals in their respective districts and montor Covid activities.

However, questions are being raised in political circles whether these attempts of KCR and his ministers will eclipse the name of Eatala of being the ‘best health minister’ of Telangana.

Finally, KCR implements “Ayushman Bharat” in TS to help Covid patients!

1

There has been a long pending demand from Opposition parties and civil society organisations to implement Modi government’s Ayushman Bharat scheme in Telangana.

However, CM KCR ignored to implement the scheme in Telangana though Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this scheme in 2019.

Though various states in the country are implementing this scheme, KCR refused to do so arguing that Telangana government’s Arogyasri scheme was better than Ayushman Bharat.

However, the current Corona pandemic has brought pressure on KCR to implement Ayushman Bharat scheme in Telangana to help Covid patients.

This is because KCR did not include Covid under Arogyasri so far though there is a strong demand.

In this backdrop, KCR decided to implement Ayushman Bharat in Telangana on Tuesday to enable patients to undergo Covid treatment in private hospitals with the financial assistance of Centre.

Telangana Medical and Health department had signed a MoU with the National Health Authority on Tuesday.

Accordingly, the state Medical and Health department had finalised the guidelines for the implementation of the Ayushman Bharath Scheme in the State.

The CM has instructed the officials concerned to ensure extending of the medical services in tune with the guidelines.

T Cong MLA to felicitate KCR in a grand manner!

1

Congress MLA from Sangareddy constituency Jagga Reddy, who is a strong critic of TRS and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has offered to felicitate KCR in a grand manner in Sangareddy.

Jagga Reddy, who once worked with KCR in TRS but later parted ways to join Congress, leaves no occasion to criticise TRS and KCR by conducting press conferences frequently.

But Jagga Reddy’s sudden decision to felicitate KCR created ripples not only in Congress but also in TRS circles.

Jagga Reddy’s gesture is in response to KCR’s decision taken on Monday sanctioning one government medical college to Sangareddy.

Jagga Reddy has been fighting for medical college to Sangareddy for long. Jagga Reddy thanked KCR for fulfilling his long pending demand and sought appointment to meet KCR and seek his permission to felicitate him.

Jagga Reddy said when KCR comes to Sangareddy to lay foundation for medical college, he will arrange a grand felicitation ceremony for him.

He said Congress has nothing to do with this and it’s his personal decision to felicitate KCR.

The CM also instructed the officials to set up an additional plant to produce 100 MT of the liquid Oxygen in Hyderabad.

The CM instructed that 6 Units of 16 MT plants, 15 units of 8 MT plants, 27 units of 4 MT plants should be set in Hyderabad, Hyderabad district, Areas hospitals.

The CM also asked the Oxygen producers to hand over 11 Tankers with each having the capacity of 20 Tonnes within 10 days. The CM said that in the coming days Telangana State should not face a situation where it is depended on other states for the supply of Oxygen.

On Monday, the CM held a high-level review meeting at Pragathi Bhavan here on Covid.

The CM said since the state government is providing free medical treatment, food, medicines and other facilities to the patients, people should get themselves admitted in the government hospitals for the treatment. He said as on Monday, there are 6926 beds vacant in the government hospitals, of this, there are 2253 Oxygen beds, ICU beds are 533, general beds 4140. The CM urged the people to take the advantage of the treatment in the government hospitals where there is availability of supply of Oxygen, beds, medicines and other facilities for free instead of going to the private hospitals spending huge amounts of money. Since the treatment is one and the same in private and government hospitals, people should prefer the government hospitals, the CM said.

The officials informed the CM said that so far the state had received 57, 30, 220 doses of vaccine only and as on date there is a stock of 1,86,780 doses of Covaxin and Covishield vaccines in the state. Of this 58230 are Covaxin and 1, 28, 550 are Covishield vaccines.

Telangana government to decide on Lock down tomorrow?

1

As per the sources, the decision may be taken in tomorrow’s cabinet meeting. Details as follows.

It is known news that government has already implemented night curfew in the state. But now the government is contemplating on whether the current curfew be changed to a lockdown. Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday spoke to Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan and briefed him about the measures being taken by the state government to curb the pandemic.

According to a statement issued by the state government, Rao also offered suggestions to the Union Minister on certain measures to be taken to contain the Covid spread.

The CM also said that the fast spreaders of the virus should be identified and be administered the vaccine dose on priority.

He also told Vardhan that vaccine guidelines should be relaxed so that the cab drivers, autorickshaw drivers, conductors, boys supplying the LPG gas cylinders, and those workers who go to several places to do their daily jobs should be brought under a special category and be vaccinated.

The Centre should extend this facility to the states to help curtail the major spread of the virus.

Most CMs locked down their states but not Jagan-KCR

5

PM Modi has given flexibility to the State Governments to impose curfews and lockdowns depending upon the Covid intensity in their respective States. He dared not go for ‘national lockdown’ considering the financial crisis. However, one by one, most States have declared lockdown in the face of unchecked rise in the virus cases. Kerala, Bihar, Maharashtra, Delhi and Orissa have gone for total lockdown.

Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat and Jammu have also declared partial or weekend lockdowns. Karnataka has decided to impose lockdown as its daily cases have reached over 50,000 and Bangalore is the worst hit. Tamil Nadu has already restricted travel on its borders with Andhra Pradesh.

As such, almost all the States surrounding the Telugu States have gone into either total or partial lockdown in the past few days. However, Telugu CMs KCR and Jaganmohan Reddy are sticking to their stands of ‘no lockdown’. Experts say both the CMs are greatly worried about their Governments’ finances if their States were shut down for the second time.

Both AP and Telangana are in bad shape financially because of the large scale welfare spendings. The BJP regime at the Centre is not extending a helping hand to them for political reasons.

KCR: We will not impose lockdown in Telangana

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has clarified that lockdown would not be imposed in the Telangana state. He said the imposition of lockdown would make the life stand still and would lead to total collapse of the financial system. The CM took this decision after examining the situation in the states where the lockdown was imposed and where the positive cases have not come down as well as taking into account the past experiences. The CM spoke to Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi over phone about the supply of the required vaccines, Oxygen and Remdesivir and urged him to supply the same immediately. The CM brought to the notice of the PM that the Oxygen supplies allocated to the state from Sriperambadur and in Tamil Nadu and Bellary in Karnataka have not been supplied so far. Since Hyderabad became a medical Hub, people from the bordering states are also depending on Hyderabad for the medical treatment. The CM explained that since people from Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka are coming to Hyderabad for the treatment there is alarming increase of burden on the city. The CM told the PM that there is a 50 per cent more Corona patients than the Telangana people are coming to Hyderabad for treatment it had an adverse impact on the availability of Oxygen, vaccines and injections like the Remdesivir. The CM said as on date there is availability of 440 MT of Oxygen per day and it should be increased 500 MT per day. The availability of Remdesivir is only 4900 and it should be increased to 25000. He said the Centre had so far gave only 50 Lakh doses of vaccine and it should also be increased based on the needs of the state. The CM requested the PM to ensure the supply of 2 to 2.5 Lakh doses of vaccine per day and it should be supplied immediately.

Meanwhile, on the request made by the CM and instructions from the PM, Union Minister Sri Piyush Goyal spoke to the CM. Sri Piyush Goyal assured the CM that all the requests made by the CM would be fulfilled and action would be taken to supply adequate quantities of vaccine, Oxygen and Remdesivir would be supplied to the State. The Union Minister said Oxygen would be supplied from the Eastern states instead of TN and Karnataka states.

The CM held a high-level review meeting at Pragathi Bhavan here on Thursday on the situation arising out of the Corona.

The CM made an in-depth review about the Corona situation prevailing in the State. The CM discussed at length on how much Oxygen supply is available and how much is required? Availability of the vaccines, supply of the Remdesivir and how much is required for the state’s needs? Availability of beds with Oxygen etc., The CM spoke to the companies manufacturing the Remdesivir and asked them to increase the supply. He said, as on date there are 9500 beds with Oxygen are available in Government hospitals and wanted 5000 more to be added within a week all over the state. The CM has instructed the CS to make arrangements to airlift 12 Cryogenic tankers from China for the better Oxygen supply at a cost of Rs one crore each. The CM asked the CS to make these arrangements immediately. He said that 5980 Covid outpatient centres are created all over the State in PHCs, Community hospitals and area hospitals and wanted people to utilise the services. The officials informed the CM that in the state, so far 1.56 Lakh positive cases were reported and of this 1.30 Lakh 85 per cent have recovered. The CM instructed the medical health officials to brief media every day evening on the Corona situation. He wanted Director of Health to take this responsibility. The CM also instructed that all the information and data on the number of positive cases, how may recovered, how many are there in the home quarantine, how many are getting treated in the government hospitals, how many are there in the private hospitals etc., on the public domain. The CM wanted that a special officer should be appointed to monitor the measures to contain the virus spread in the state. The CM instructed Principal Secretary (Finance) Sri Ramakrishna Rao to release the funds required for the medical and health department immediately. He also wanted a special officer to be appointed to release the funds. The CM instructed that all those who took the first dose of the vaccine should be given the second dose on priority.

The CM who reviewed the availability of Oxygen had also made attempts to increase its supply. The CM spoke to IICT Director Sri Chandrashekhar over phone and asked him about the measures taken to increase the Oxygen reserves. Based on their suggestions, the CM instructed the medical and health officials to purchase 500 Oxygen enrichers. The CM suggested that more number of enrichers should be added immediately and wanted setting up of system that generated Oxygen in a short time. He wanted officials from the Panchayat Raj, Municipal department to spray Sodium Hypochloride to clean the environment. He wanted public representatives to become the partners in the programme.

Covid medical Kits for every household

The CM urged the people to utilise the Covid Kits supplied by the government. He said the Kits would be provided through Asha workers and ANMs. Along with the medicines, there will be pamphlet on the precautions to be taken for the curtailment of Corona.

The CM did an in-depth analysis on why lockdown should not be imposed in the State.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said,” There is no use imposing lockdown. Since Telangana state is the most happening state in the country, 25 to 30 Lakh workers from other states are here working. We have seen how their lives were adversely impacted by the lockdown we imposed during the first wave. If they are dislocated, they will not come back. Moreover, there is bumper yield of the Paddy in the State. Paddy is stocked in 6144 procurement centres in the state and they are weighing the Paddy. Purchasing Paddy is not a simple process. There is a chain system involved from bottom to the top. There is involvement of the IKP Centre incharges, Hamalis, workers, transport staff, workers at the rice mills, FCI godowns etc., There are lakhs of people involved in the process. What will happen to the workers who came from other states and working in the rice Mills? What will happen to them if there is lockdown? If the workers go helter skelter how would one get them back? If the Paddy is not purchased where will the farmer go? There is a danger of the entire Paddy purchasing process coming to a standstill if the lockdown is imposed. And it may lead to crisis. At the same time, we cannot stop the supply of essential commodities, milk, vegetables, fruits, emergency medical services, deliveries, sanitation and other such emergency and essential services. We are also importing from other states, vaccines, medicines, injections etc., they will be effected if the lockdown is imposed. If the lockdown is imposed, the government will become responsible for creating a panic situation. Hence the government is not ready it impose lockdown. However, we will identify the areas where the cases are more and declare them as Micro level Containment zones and take the required measures,” the CM explained.

The CM also said that if the industries are closed down lakhs of people lose their livelihood and working class like the cab drivers would be in dire situation. Leave aside Corona; the entire economic situation will collapse leading a deep crisis. Hence the government has decided not to impose any lockdown,” the CM said.

The CM also urged people to take part in the fight against the Corona voluntarily. He said only through united efforts by everyone that victory over the Pandemic can be achieved. He wanted intellectuals and other scholars to educate people in this regard. The CM congratulated the medical and health department staff for rendering their services putting their lives at stake. Doctors, Nurses, Asha workers, ANMs and other medical staff are appreciated by the CM for their selfless services. The CM said that the reports suggested the intensity of the second wave of Corna would come down by May 15. He wanted people to take precautionary measures to curtail the virus and they asked them to exercise restrain by themselves. He advised people not to move in crowd, more than 100 should not attend the marriage ceremonies, frequent use of sanitisers, wearing masks and maintaining physical distance should be observed at all times. Such precautions would only prevent the virus spread, the CM said.

KCR sacks Etela Rajender from cabinet

1

A day after making Etela Rajender, a minister without portfolio, Chief Minister Telangana K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday (today) sacked him from his cabinet.

Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan issued orders to this effect late on Sunday on the advice of CM KCR.

The decision follows after an inquiry committee set up by KCR to probe into alleged encroachment of assigned lands by Etela submitted a report to KCR confirming encroachments by Etela to the tune of 66 acres in Medak district.

Now Etela is left with no option but to quit TRS.

KCR took over health portfolio of Etela on Saturday.

As BJP and Modi weaken, will KCR revive Federal Front now?

TRS chief and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was more than happy on Sunday (today) after the counting trends in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala clearly indicated the downfall of BJP and more so Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

There was a buzz in TRS circles that KCR tracked counting trends in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala more than Nagarjunasagar Assembly bypoll as he was very much confident of TRS victory in Nagarjunasagar.

Speculations were rife that KCR was overjoyed after it became clear that Mamata Banerjee, MK Stalin and Pinarayi Vijayan are going to become the CMs of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

This is because all the three leaders are close to KCR whom KCR met in 2018 and 2019 as part of his efforts to forge a Federal Front against BJP and Modi.

However, KCR became silent after Modi became PM for second term with an absolute majority in April 2019 Lok Sabha polls and Modi emerged more stronger.

Fearing stronger Modi and BJP, KCR again confined to Telangana politics since then.

However, with BJP and Modi receiving a jolt in election in big states West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, KCR is now keen to revive his Federal Front from where he left in 2019.

KCR feels that the time is right now to strike back at weaker Modi and BJP.

KCR may shift his focus to national politics yet again and make his son KT Rama Rao as CM of Telangana anytime soon, say party sources.

0

The Rapid Antigen and RT-PCR tests conducted on Chief Minister K
Chandrashekhar Rao have given “mixed results”.

This was disclosed by Telangana Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in an official press release issued late on Thursday (today).

The antigen test conducted on Wednesday gave negative result, but the
RT-PCR tests have not given any definite result on Thursday, it said.

KCR’s personnel physician Dr Rao said, “Some times, the results
would not be accurate as the virus’s intensity is decreasing. The CM
is hale and healthy and the RT-PCR test would be conducted again in
two or three days.”

It may be recalled that KCR had tested positive for Covid-19 on April 19 with mild symptoms.

Doctors advised him home isolation for ten days which he completed
on April 28.

KCR is under isolation at his farmhouse in Erravelli since April 19.
