YCP tearing ‘mangala sutras’ of women: Lokesh

0

Former Minister Nara Lokesh has held the Jaganmohan Reddy Government responsible for the killing of Srinivasa Reddy at Gollalagunta village in Jaggampeta mandal in East Godavari district. He visited the village, called on the bereaved family members and took part in the funeral rites.

Terming it as a ‘YCP Government murder’, he said that the ruling YCP was not hesitating to bring the factionism and murder politics into an otherwise peaceful East Godavari district. The murder of the husband of the TDP supported candidate Pushpavati was condemnable. Her husband Srinivasa Reddy was kidnapped yesterday and he was killed today. This highly condemnable incident raised questions whether there was police machinery in the State at all. Stringent punishment should be given to the YCP leaders and the police who were responsible for this killing.

Mr. Lokesh said that the Chief Minister was bent on tearing down ‘mangala sutras’ of women. This was because the ruling party was scared of facing the people in the panchayat elections. This was why they were resorting to all sorts of violence, intimidation and killings. In the last 20 months, over 19 Opposition activists were killed and false cases were slapped on over 1,350 activists. The YCP leaders were shivering at the very sight of the TDP flag. The slain leader Srinivasa Reddy complained to the police but the CI did not respond. The complainant Srinivasa Reddy was called to the police station in the morning and he was found killed in the evening.

Why is Jagan visiting Delhi? Nara Lokesh opinion poll

2

TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh has launched a novel opinion poll asking the people to respond on what exactly prompted Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy to make his latest visit to Delhi. He posed several questions for the respondents to answer as to why the AP Chief Minister was bending his own neck in front of the Centre instead of fulfilling his vow to bend the necks of Delhi to bring Special Category Status. The opinion poll was launched both on Facebook and Twitter.

A question was asked on whether the Chief Minister was going to Delhi to mortgage AP’s constitutional right to Special Status for the sake of protecting himself from the 31 cases.

People were asked for responses on whether Mr. Jagan Reddy’s visit was aimed at getting his uncle Vivekananda Reddy’s murder turned into a natural death by heart attack. Another question was whether the Chief Minister’s express purpose was to lobby in Delhi to realise his plans to destroy Amaravati Capital City in the name of 3 Capitals. This was going with total disregard for the rights and future of 34,000 farmers who had given their ancestral lands.

Mr. Lokesh also asked for the public opinion on whether the CM was trying to plead before the Delhi bosses to suppress proofs of his destructive raids on the 151 temples in AP.

Nara Lokesh indefinite protest at Proddatur

6

TDP leader Nara Lokesh called on the family members of slain TDP BC leader Nandam Subbaiah at Proddatur on Wednesday afternoon.

Mr. Lokesh went on an indefinite protest along with Subbaiah’s wife Aparajita Reddy in the town. He asserted that their protest would continue in Proddatur till the police changed the FIR as per the original complaint filed by Subbaiah’s wife.

Mr. Nara Lokesh demanded inclusion of the names of local YCP MLA Rachamallu Siva Prasada Reddy, his brother-in-law Bangaru Reddy and Proddatur Municipal Commissioner Anuradha. Though Aparajita named all these persons in her complaint, the police did not include the same in the FIR copy. The police should explain why they had done this. What was the District SP doing when such injustice was being done?

Along with the slain leader’s wife, Mr. Lokesh addressed a press conference in Proddatur when he vowed not to give up their protest till justice was done for Subbaiah’s family. Just for putting a video on social media, the TDP weaver’s leader was murdered in broad daylight in the presence of the common public and officials. The YCP MLA resorted to this ghastly murder out of personal jealousy over the fact that Subbaiah was rising as a BC leader. He also rose to become the Kadapa parliamentary segment’s TDP official spokesperson. He had sensed threat to life and asked for security but the police did not care to act which had now led to this murder.

Mr. Lokesh asserted that it was not the TDP but Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy who was known for doing ‘Sava Rajakeeyalu’ (politics over mortal remains). The whole State knew who became busy collecting signatures of the MLAs instead of waiting till his father’s body was found. The TDP would always be in the forefront of the fight for the rights of the victims. The two children of Subbaiah were now asking what wrong their father did that he was given so severe a punishment. Why did not the police include the names of the MLA and municipal commissioner as complained by Aparajita? Were the police afraid or did they receive any phone call from top persons?

Stating that there was not a single case pending against Subbaiah right now, Mr. Nara Lokesh said that even those 14 cases in the past were totally politically motivated and they had been struck down. A malicious campaign was launched against the TDP rising leader. In that case, Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy had countless 420 cases and 11 chargesheets filed against him. Everybody knew how the CM was presently on bail. The CM and his Ministers repeatedly would boast of having 151 out of 175 MLAs but for reasons not known they were getting panicky at a small incident like a social media video posted by Subbaiah. The video contents were all facts and the slain TDP leader was ready to prove how the MLA and his henchmen were involved in atrocities and extortions by resorting to sand smuggling, cricket bettings, gambling and matka activities.

Mr. Lokesh warned of dire consequences if the YCP continued implementing its faction-driven Raja Reddy Constitution in AP while the rest of the country was following the Dr. BR Ambedkar Constitution. Already, this Government was managing by imposing Section 144 in Tadepalli, Tadipatri, Proddatur and even a remote place like Palasa. No wonder, the YCP regime would have to impose Section 144 all over the State going by its rising unpopularity because of its non-stop atrocities and misrule.

Referring to the Tadipatri incident, Mr. Lokesh expressed surprise how a sitting MLA could take the help of the local SI and policemen to go and launch an attack on the house of a former MLA. Not only that, false cases were registered against the victims. The SI himself accompanied the YCP MLA during the attack.

Subbaiah’s wife Aparajita, who also spoke, said that her huband served and guarded MLA Siva Prasada Reddy like a dog prior to joining the TDP. The MLA himself helped and performed their inter-caste marriage. But the same MLA had eliminated Subbaiah now.

She said that she would not give up her protest till the police included the names of the MLA, his brother in law and the municipal commissioner in the FIR. It was because of a call received from the commissioner that Subbaiah went to the spot where he was murdered as per a conspiracy. The commissioner was also involved in the conspiracy.

Police may use YCP colours for uniform in future: Lokesh

2

The use of colours similar to YCP flag on some police vehicles has triggered a big controversy in AP. Former Minister Nara Lokesh says this is highly objectionable and not welcome in day to day governance in the State. He termed it as yet another betrayal of the people to give the ruling party colours to the police vehicles in the name of the Disha Act that could not be used to save women from atrocities till now.

Lokesh said that some overenthusiastic police were crossing all limits and they might even go to the extent of changing uniforms into YCP colours in future. Instead of wasting their time and energy on such unwelcome activities, the police should focus on their basic duty to protect the people. The ruling YCP has been adopting such distasteful and unwholesome activities despite severe backlash from the public. The Government suffered setbacks with respect to the colours on the panchayat offices but it was not changing its habits.

Referring to the ghastly murder of disabled woman in Ongole, Mr. Lokesh deplored that Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy had not responded till now. Lack of prompt and proper action from the Government side was giving rise to serious consequences. The atrocities on women and girls were on the rise ever since the YCP came to power by making empty promises to all sections of society. In the past 18 months of Jagan Reddy misrule, over 310 atrocities took place on women. The Government should order a detailed probe into the murder of Ongole woman volunteer Bhubaneswari. Exemplary punishment should be given to the culprits so that such incidents would not repeat anywhere in the State.

Tenant farmers committing suicides on daily basis: TDP

2

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national general secretary and Opposition leader Nara Lokesh on Tuesday alleged that three tenant farmers committed suicide in three days, demanding the state government to come to their rescue.

“Tenant farmers are committing suicides on a daily basis and there is no reaction from this government. Three farmers died in three days,” alleged Lokesh adding that instead of giving assurance to the farmers the ministers are insulting them.

Lokesh said Oleti Adishesu, a tenant farmer from Modhumudi village in Avanigadda mandal of Krishna district committed suicide as he could not cope with the debts.

“Government must help the families of farmers who committed suicide. Farmers who suffered losses in the Kharif season should immediately be paid compensation,” demanded the TDP leader and son of Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

Lokesh questioned if Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had the eligibility to rule when he was allegedly claiming the lives of farmers.

He demanded answers from cabinet ministers and claimed that 468 farmers committed suicide in the past 18 months, indicating from the time YSRCP party came to power.

Lokesh said the suicides of farmers Haribabu from Guntur district and Ramesh from Prakasam within 48 hours had really saddened him.

Earlier, the TDP national general secretary shot off a letter to Reddy, threatening that if farmers devastated by floods and cyclones are not provided relief, there would be a mass movement against the government.

Lokesh claimed that in the kharif season alone, swathes of fields stretching up to 50 lakh acres incurred Rs 10,000 crore losses.

Lokesh visits Eluru, demands health emergency

0

Former Minister Nara Lokesh has visited Eluru and called on the patients who were suffering the mystery illness there. He visited the Government General Hospital where most of the victims were receiving the treatment. He blamed the Government’s negligence for the outbreak of the disease in different localities in the West Godavari district headquarters town.

The former Minister also visited the areas in Eluru where the disease spread. Though initial reports attributed the illness due to supply of contaminated drinking water, the health officials were still unable to diagnose which disease was afflicting the people there.

Mr. Lokesh enquired from the local people their problems and assured that the TDP would stand by them in their hour of need. It was unfortunate that there were no proper basic amenities which led to the outbreak of the disease in the constituency of the Health Minister himself.

Stating that more cases were still being reported, Mr. Lokesh demanded the Government to declare a health emergency in Eluru town and initiate all the necessary steps to mitigate the illness. The Chief Minister was only preferring to fly in air and not coming down to help the suffering people on the ground.

Mr. Lokesh deplored that for the last five days, cases of mystery illness were coming up in Eluru town but the officials and the Government miserably failed to initiate timely action.

Lokesh moves privilege notice against Guntur SP

2

TDP MLC Nara Lokesh moved a privilege notice in the AP Council against Guntur Urban SP Ammi Reddy. He made a formal complaint to the Council Chairman saying that Mr. Ammi Reddy had threatened him by making posts on social media. When he found fault with the false arrest of TDP activist Mani Ratnam, the SP put social media comments to threaten and trample on his rights as an MLC.

If the police officer had any complaint, he would have to come through the proper channel and bring the same to the notice of the Council Chairman.

The council also witnessed a heated debate on how the ruling YCP Ministers were spreading ‘misinformation’ to the public on comments allegedly made by Chandrababu Naidu on agriculture. The TDP challenged Ministers Botsa Satyanarayana and Kanna Babu to prove where exactly Mr. Naidu has said that cultivation would be a wasteful effort. The debate was relating to alleged comments against agriculture in Mr. Naidu’s book ‘Manasulo Maata’.

Mr. Lokesh said that the TDP had ample proof to show how Botsa Satyanarayana and Kanna Babu had made serious comments against Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy before joining the YCP. These leaders even called the YCP a ‘Chanchalaguda Party’, meaning that the leader of the party was bound to go to jail in the illegal assets cases.

Case against Nara Lokesh for causing tractor mishap

3

The ruling YCP is leaving no chance to embarrass and irritate the Opposition Telugu Desam Party. Nara Lokesh has become a prime target for CM Jagan Reddy, his Ministers and MLAs all over. They are following every move of Lokesh and taking immediate counter action to bring pressure on him. Now, the YCP got a case filed against Lokesh for causing harm to the lives of many people by driving a tractor without the required knowledge of it. The tractor incident took place at Siddhapuram village in Akividu area.

The case was filed at the Akividu police station in West Godavari district. Lokesh was charged with causing the tractor mishap during his visit to flood-hit areas. Charges were also levelled against the TDP MLC saying that he had not observed Covid 19 restrictions and preventive guidelines properly. Case was filed under sections 279, 184 and 54A and also under various sections of the Epidemic Act.

Wide media coverage was given for Lokesh narrow escape incident in tractor mishap yesterday. This has embarrassed and angered the YCP local leaders who were already furious over the TDP visits to damaged crops.

Close shave for Lokesh, tractor loses control

0

TDP national general secretary, Nara Lokesh, had a close shave on Monday afternoon when the tractor he was driving suddenly overturned. Lokesh escaped unhurt in the freak mishap.

The incident occurred in Siddapuram village in Akiveedu in West Godavari district when Nara Lokesh was driving a tractor as part of his campaign to interact with flood-affected farmers.

Lokesh drove to reach a remote area in Siddapuram village to meet the farmers. The torrential rains has led to waterlogging. The minor mishap occurred when Lokesh was trying to navigate the tractor through the thick blanket of water. As soon as he reached the village, he was informed that the tractor would not be able to reach the site due to the heavy rainfall.

The tractor lost control and slipped into Uppataru canal. However, MLA Manthana Ramraju got alerted and controlled the tractor thereby averting what could have been a major accident.

Later, Lokesh interacted with the fishermen who lost their cultivation.

‘Govt terrorism’: Naidu, Lokesh on GITAM demolitions

0

Former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has condemned the demolitions taken up by the AP government at the GITAM University in Visakhapatnam, saying that it was a clear act of vengeance against the political opponents. GITAM stood out as a glorious temple of learning which had shaped the lives of thousands of students, provided jobs to youth and helped in providing medical services. The matter was in court but the demolitions were initiated without waiting for the final verdict.

The TDP chief said that the destructive attack on a noted educational institution would be a big threat to the future progress and prosperity of the State as a whole. Only recently, ex Mayor Sabbam Hari’s house was demolished and now GITAM University was targetted. This was nothing but the political vengeance of the ruling YCP. The ruling party was taking revenge out of personal jealousy and vindictiveness against opposing parties and persons. Already, educational and medical institutions and industries were afraid of coming to Andhra Pradesh because of the ongoing Government terrorism here. Many companies were shifting to neighbouring States after seeing AP transforming into ‘Bihar of South India’ in a short period of time because of its violence and destruction.

Mr. Naidu said that the University had lived up to its social service motto providing medical help to 2,590 Covid 19 patients by bearing crores of rupees losses. Such a noble educational institution became witness to thoughtless demolitions overnight by over 200 personnel. The one who cannot build has no right to demolish. Already, most AP people were going to neighbouring States for educational, employment and medical facilities.

Former Minister Nara Lokesh said that the demolitions and diabolical acts of CM Jagan were going out of control. GITAM, which has a long history in giving good educational services, came under a meaningless attack along political lines. Jagan Reddy knows only how to demolish but not to construct. The CM’s modus operandi was to create terror in the minds of all the people in Visakhapatnam and perpetrated his ruthless rule there.

Lokesh pained at farmers plight in Anantapur

0

TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh on Friday came down heavily on the Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP government for failing to come to the rescue of farmers in Anantapur.

On Friday, Lokesh visited the flood-hit villages in Anantapur district and interacted with farmers at Karidikonda and Peddavadugur villages. The TDP general secretary enquired about the extent of damage to crops, mainly cotton and groundnut.

Speaking to the media, Lokesh slammed the Jagan government for its lackluster approach in providing financial assistance to the flood affected farmers in Anantapur. He alleged that the YSRC government which claims to be ‘Rythu Bharosa’ government, had neglected the welfare of farmers.

Lokesh was accompanied by former minister Kalva Srinivasulu, ex-MLA J C Prabhakar Reddy, and other TDP leaders. Lokesh demanded the state government to immediately pay Rs 27,000 compensation to farmers. “The government has failed to provide any subsidy to the farmers in the last 17 months. The YSRCP has not implemented a single promise made in its manifesto. This is a farmer unfriendly government,” he criticized.

More than 48 mandals in Anantapur received heavy rains and floods, mainly affecting cotton, groundnut, paddy and other cash crops. Groundnut farmers in Anantapur expected a bumper crop this Kharif, but suffered heavy losses due to the flash floods. The loss of groundnut crop was more in Anantapur district than other districts.

Lokesh slams YCP for dividing farmers along caste lines

4

Former Minister Nara Lokesh has made a whirlwind visit to the flood-hit areas and enquired about crop losses from the farmers in East Godavari district. He stepped into the knee-deep flood waters in the agricultural fields at several places and asked the farmers about the extent of crop damages. The farmers poured out their woes on account of loss of their crops even as there was no enumeration being taken up by the Government till now.

The TDP former Minister visited damaged crops spread over different villages in Jaggampeta, Prathipadu, Pithapuram and Anaparthy assembly constituencies. He also visited the submerged houses in the flood waters. Former Home Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa, Jyothula Navin, Pavani, Varupala Raja and others during his visit to Gollaprolu and Pithapuram mandals.

Mr. Lokesh accused the Jagan Reddy regime of deliberately dividing farmers along caste and religious lines for the sake of deriving political mileage. Benefits were not being given to the deserving farmers under Rythu Bharosa. Discrimination was being shown to the poor and tenant farmers in the schemes. The Government failed to take preventive and advance mitigation measures even though prior information was available on the flood situation. The flood victims and the evacuees were not getting proper relief and essential supplies. The AP Government has responded only when the Prime Minister made a telephone call to enquire about damages in the floods and heavy rains.

Mr. Lokesh deplored that Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy was travelling in helicopters in the name of aerial visits without making field visits to console and rescue the farmers. The CM was not bothered to ensure proper relief and compensation when the farmers were facing misery in the repeated floods and heavy rains. Instead of taking up relief measures, the YCP Ministers were using all their energy to criticize and attack the TDP. They were speaking as if the TDP leaders had no right to visit the flood-hit areas. Agriculture Minister Kanna Babu was nowhere to be seen even though crops were submerged and damaged all over the State causing severe losses to the farmers. Compensation has not reached the farmers who lost their crops in the last season’s floods till now.

Jagan rule has money for own media but not Anna Canteens: Lokesh

2

The TDP launched an attack on public money being diverted to CM Jagan own media. TDP former Minister Nara Lokesh has decried the YCP Government’s attempts to ‘divert’ the public money on a large scale to increase the circulation figures of CM Jaganmohan Reddy family’s own media in the State. Over Rs. 5.5 Cr public funds were being looted in village and ward Secretariats in the name of the ruling party’s media, which is nothing but a political pamphlet. The government says it had no money to open Anna Canteens that had quenched the hunger of poor workers, coolies, small time employees, vendors and different sections.

Mr. Lokesh said that the Jagan Reddy rule literally snatched away food from the mouths of the poor people. But, by giving the Government advertisements aplenty, hundreds of crores were being given to the YCP media. Though all sections of people were resenting its activities, the Government was treading all wrong paths to increase the circulation of the ruling party’s media. The Jagan regime was not hesitating to commit scam in every scheme and programme. The village Secretariats were also being used in a variety of ways to continue its corruption.

Naidu, Lokesh just tourists to AP, say YCP Ministers

4

No ruling party Minister or MLA visited the flood or heavy rain-hit areas anywhere. Today, TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh made a visit to three assembly segments in Guntur district. He visited damaged crops and talked to farmers. The TDP has also accused the YCP Government of deliberately mismanaging the flood in the Krishna river to take vengeance by sinking the house of Chandrababu Naidu.

Amid these issues, YCP Ministers Anil Kumar Yadav and Kodali Nani made scathing attacks on the TDP leaders. They asked whether the Leader of the Opposition in AP was Chandrababu Naidu or his son Nara Lokesh or his grandson Nara Devansh. While Mr. Naidu was staying at his Hyderabad home, Lokesh was making visits to AP now and then.

Anil Kumar went on to say that nobody would need to sink the Krishna Karakatta house of Chandrababu Naidu. This house would sink by itself in the floodwaters of the river.

The Minister said that Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh were just like the tourists who were visiting the State now and then. The Irrigation Minister made a stinging attack as a counter to the TDP’s allegations that the Government conspired to cause an artificial flood in the river in order to sink lands in Amaravati Capital City.

Explain why you took U-turn on Amaravati, Lokesh asks Jagan

Telugu Desam Party general secretary Nara Lokesh on Monday visited Amaravati to express solidarity to the agitating farmers who are opposing the Andhra Pradesh government’s move to relocate the state capital.

Farmers, who have given their land for development of Amaravati as the state capital, have been on a protest for 300 days, opposing the YSR Congress Party government’s move to relocate Amaravati capital city to Vizag.

Participating in the protest along with Amaravati farmers at Penumaka in Guntur district, Lokesh, son of former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, lashed out at Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy stating that he had failed on all fronts.

Lokesh said Jagan’s decision has shattered the dream of thousands of farmers and destroyed the dream to build Amaravati as a world-class capital city.

“Amaravati was selected as the capital city after studying all aspects. It was endorsed by everybody including Jagan Mohan Reddy and it was a collective decision. Jagan had assured his full support to the development of Amaravati as the capital. He even contended that the capital must have a minimum of 30,000 acres. After coming to power, he took a U-turn and proposed three capitals with an intention to help land mafia and usurp lands in Vizag,” he accused.

Lokesh reminded that it was during the previous TDP government that several major projects like international airport plan at Bhogapuram, Adani Data Centre, convention centre by Lulu Group and several IT companies evinced interest in Andhra Pradesh.

“This government has miserably failed to attract a single big ticket project in the last one year. On the top of it, all the big investors have withdrawn their investment plans and are now scared to invest in Andhra Pradesh because of Jagan’s lack of vision. Visakhapatnam is a developed city. Under the Telugu Desam government, numerous investments by prominent business groups such as Adani and LuLu were initiated in Visakhapatnam. But this government has thwarted the projects and scared away investors due to the inefficient and lopsided policies of Jagan,” he said.

Further, Lokesh said the current political dispensation was not able to prove the allegations of corruption it had levied on the TDP government over the Visakhapatnam lands issue.

300 days farmers protest: Lokesh to visit Amaravati villages

2

As the farmers’ agitation completed 300 days, TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh will be visiting villages in Amaravati on Monday.

Lokesh will be visiting Penumaka, Yerraballam, Krishnapalam, Tulluru and Dondapandi. Subsequently, Lokesh will interact with the farmers. His visit to the capital city comes in the wake of TDP president and former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu calling upon the party leaders and cadre all over the State to actively take part in the protests as part of 300 days of Amaravati agitation a grand success.

In line with the party’s firm stand on Amaravati as the capital city, Lokesh will be holding solidarity meetings with the farmers who gave 34,000 acres of land for the capital with trust in the YSRCP government. Lokesh had severely criticized Jagan’s move to create three capitals. He slammed Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy stating that he had turned Amaravati into a burial ground. He had also pointed out that at least 82 farmers ended their lives for the cause of Amaravati as the capital city.

Capital buildings were already constructed with a cost of Rs 10,000 crore during the previous TDP regime. The Amaravati Parirakshana Samithi has organized several protest programmes and massive rallies on Sunday to mark the completion of 300 days of agitation. Protest demonstrations will be held across mandal revenue offices and assembly constituencies on Monday.

Lokesh decries suspicious death of another Dalit Ajay

1

TDP former Minister Nara Lokesh on Friday accused the YSRCP Government of trying to cover up the suspicious death of another Dalit youth Ajay while in the excise police custody in Vijayawada.

Mr. Lokesh said that the efforts were on to give ill health as the cause behind the death of Ajay. The Government wasn’t bringing pressure and threatening to make the parents and family members not to raise suspicions. The Dalit youth was called in the name of investigation and was badly beaten that led to his eventual death. The death happened while Ajay was in the custody of the special enforcement bureau.

Expressing concern over the rising atrocities, the TDP MLC deplored that the Jagan Reddy regime gave one type of treatment to Durga Temple Board Member’s son and another type of treatment to Dalit youth though they faced same charges. Dalits were being persecuted now. Just for not wearing a mask, Dalit youth Kiran Kumar was beaten to death. For asking for masks, Dalit doctor Dr Sudhakar was beaten and branded and insane.

Mr Lokesh asked whether the police stat have been converted into the YSRCP faction dens. Just for protesting against illegal sand transportation, Dalit youth Vara Prasad was called and tonsured at the police station. The Dalits will teach a fitting lesson to the YCP when the opportunity comes.

Peddireddy targets Lokesh, calls him poisonous like Naidu

8

Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy has been under increasing attack from the Telugu Desam Party over atrocities on Dalits in his native Punganur assembly constituency. Nara Lokesh has commented that the Miniter’s followers were not even sparing the journalists and a journalist’s house was demolished in Chittoor district. There was no freedom of the press under the Jagan Reddy regime. Lokesh’s comment triggered debate once again on the suspicious death of Om Pratap who was found dead a few days after he made disparaging comments against CM Jaganmohan Reddy in a viral video.

All through these controversies, Minister Peddireddy kept his cool and silence but the moment Lokesh made a comment, the Minister made counter allegations and accusations. Peddireddy clarified that the journalist was attacked by a group of persons when he tried to mediate in a case in which a head master allegedly molested a minor girl. The Minister said that Lokesh was spreading lies and untruths without checking facts about what really happened in the field level.

Peddireddy became furious and went making accusations against the TDP. He called Lokesh being equally filled with poison like his father Chandrababu Naidu. Both their brains were bent on doing evil things. Peddireddy was considered the second most powerful person after Jaganmohan Reddy in the YCP Cabinet. As a result, he was coming under greater attacks following untoward incidents taking place in his segment.

Lokesh demands impartial probe into Dalit’s death

2

TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh has accused the YSRCP government of trying to weaken the case relating to the death of Chirala-based Dalit youth in Prakasam district. He demanded an impartial probe into the ‘killing’ of Y. Kiran Kumar who was attacked for not wearing a face mask. Necessary punishment should be given to the quilty persons so as to prevent such incidents in future. He advised the Government to desist from its efforts to cover up its failures and ensure a fair investigation to bring out the truth in the Dalit’s death case. Already, the family members of Kiran Kumar have demanded arrest of the cops responsible for the fatal attack.

It may be recalled that the Chirala youth was stopped on the road and beaten up by the cops following an argument over not wearing a face mask. The YSRCP Government came in for criticism as the Opposition leaders asked why such punishment was not being given to the Chief Ministers and the Ministers and the ruling party MLAs who were not wearing masks. Moreover, the YSRCP leaders were carrying out rallies and meetings thus becoming super spreaders of the virus in places like Srikalahasti, Sullurupeta, etc.

Meanwhile, the top police officials said that SI Vijaya Kumar has been suspended in connection with the Dalit youth’s death. The Dalit organisations have been demanding acton against him ever since Kiran Kumar succumbed to the injuries.

Lokesh slams liquor sale extension till 9 pm: Covid compromise

4

TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh has launched a scathing attack on the YSRCP Government for extending sales at the liquor shops till 9 p.m. Mr. Lokesh termed it as an atrocious decision coming at a time when thousands of people were testing virus positive everyday while tens of patients were dying of the fatal infection. The extension of sale hours was only aimed at looting more public money. Very unfortunate that at this critical time, the ruling party was looking for more J-tax collections. On the other hand, the people were suffering due to lack of proper facilities and food at quarantine centres even as patients were dying on the roads.

The former Minister deplored that the government liquor shops have already turned into Jagan Reddy’s official super spreaders of Coronavirus infections.
