Jagan diverted Rs 75,760 cr BC Sub-Plan funds, says Lokesh

Calling the Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, as a traitor of the Backward Classes (BC), TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Sunday said that Rs 75,760 cr BC Sub-Plan funds have been diverted by Jagan in the past four years.

When the representatives of the Valmiki, Boya Union met Lokesh at Nagalur of Dharmavaram Assembly segment during his ongoing pada yatra, Yuva Galam, the TDP general secretary said that the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government is harassing the BCs, including the Boya community members, by foisting false cases against them. “Such false cases have been registered against at least 26,000 BCs,” he said.

Observing that it is the TDP that promoted the Valmikis and Boyas politically, Lokesh said that Kalva Srinivasulu, who belongs to this community, was given the Cabinet berth by the TDP besides accommodating several leaders in local bodies.

Lokesh promised allocation of funds for Valmis and Boys as per the population ratio once the TDP is back into power. “Taking into consideration the Satyapal Malik Committee recommendations, justice will be done for the community,” he added.

Earlier, the representatives of the community made an appeal to Lokesh to give priority to them politically and also lift all the false cases registered against the community leaders. They also wanted ST status for the Valmikis and Boyas.

Before beginning his pada yatra on Sunday, Lokesh had an interaction with handloom weavers at CSB campsite where he promised free power upto 200 units for them soon after the TDP forms the government again.

Lokesh also assured them that TIDCO houses will be allotted to them besides common working sheds will be built with all the basic facilities.

When a woman, Ramulamma, expressed her inability to bear the expenditure of the education of her two children as her husband died recently, Lokesh promised to take the responsibility of the education of the two children.

“Also, immediately after the TDP is back in power, Rs 10 lakh each will be paid as ex gratia to the kin of those handloom weavers families who committed suicide,” Lokesh said.

Expressing concern that the State Government has not come to the rescue of the 53 families in Dharmavaram of those who had committed suicide, Lokesh asked the local MLA as to why he had not taken the initiative.

He felt the need to treat both power looms and handlooms separately. Within a few days of the TDP forming the government, all the welfare schemes for the handloom workers will be revived, he stated.

Lokesh promises cleansing of higher education system

0

Stating that the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government is harassing the private educational institutions, TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, said here on Sunday that he is aware of the problems being faced by these institutions and promised to cleanse the whole higher education system soon after the TDP is back into power.

Representatives of the private education institutions managements met Lokesh at Ramayyapeta campsite and submitted a memorandum to him on the problems they are facing.

They specifically mentioned that since the education system in the State is completely in doldrums, students are seeking admission through online in other States and this is pushing them into trouble.

Responding to the managements representatives’ issues, Lokesh said that he has already mentioned several issues in the face-to-face programmes with students at various places and assured them that once the TDP is back in power all their problems will be resolved on a war footing basis.

“The TDP will certainly ensure that quality education is accessible to everyone, including those living in the remotest corners of the State,” he added.

Promising to do away with all those schemes that are aimed at cheating the students and their parents, Lokesh assured them that the fee reimbursement scheme will be revived.

Lokesh expressed concern that the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government is not only harassing the managements of all the educational institutions but also the students and their parents.

Before Lokesh to begin his pada yatra, Yuva Galam, on Sunday, women from various parts of Puttaparthi Assembly segment submitted a memorandum on the insecurity they are facing in the YSRCP rule. Observing that it is the TDP that provided equal rights to women in ancestral property and the whole credit goes to the late NT Rama Rao, the founder of the party.

Former chief minister and party supremo, Chandrababu Naidu, takes the credit of appointing a woman as the Speaker of the Assembly and formation of the State Mahila Commission while it is the TDP that established Padmavathi Women University, Lokesh pointed out.

Observing that the TDP always worked for the welfare of women, he said that once the party forms the government action will be initiated against those who resorted to various kinds of atrocities against women.

At Pagadalavaripalli, Lokesh had an interaction with the BC representatives and promised to enact a legislation for their safety within 100 days of the party back in power. Pointing out that the TDP has already passed a resolution to include Boyas and Valmikis into STs, he said that the party will take all measures for their welfare.

Jagan dismantled vital transport sector, says Lokesh

0

Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, has completely dismantled the transport sector that plays a crucial role in the economic development of the State, observed TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Saturday.

Representatives of the Heavy Vehicles Drivers and Cleaners Association of Telugu States met Lokesh at Ingalaur of Puttaparthi Assembly segment when he is on his pada yatra, Yuva Galam, and narrated their problems to him.

The representatives wanted the trip sheet system to be introduced throughout the country and the details of the goods being transported be included in it. They also wanted provident fund (PF) facilities to be introduced to all the drivers and cleaners.

Responding to the representation made by the drivers and cleaners, Lokesh said that Jagan has increased the fuel prices heavily and imposed various kinds of taxes following which seriously affected the transport sector. This resulted in the owners disposing of their heavy vehicles and turning into divers, he felt.

Lokesh promised to bring down the fuel prices immediately after the TDP formed the government and separate welfare schemes besides insurance facilities on the lines of Chandranna Bheema will be introduced for drivers and cleaners. The TDP national general secretary promised to take all possible measures for promoting the transport sector once the TDP is back into power.

At Gajukuntapalli, farmers met Lokesh and submitted a memorandum on the problems they are facing, including an appeal to revive the zero interest loan facility and input subsidy. They informed Lokesh that all the schemes that were available during the TDP rule are discontinued now.

Responding to their appeal, Lokesh said that the agriculture sector got totally destroyed after Jagan became the Chief Minister and even the Minimum Support Price is not being paid for farm products. He assured the farmers that all the schemes will be revived soon after the TDP comes back to power.

The petty traders complained to Lokesh on heavy power charges and he promised them to take necessary action immediately if the TDP is into ruling.

Girijans from Obula Devaracheruvu also narrated their cup of woes to Lokesh to which he said that the TDP will certainly work for their welfare. He called upon the Girijans to work hard to bring the TDP back to power.

Lokesh terms global summit as fake local summit

TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Sunday dubbed the recent global investors summit held in the port city of Visakhapatnam as fake local summit.

Addressing a huge public meeting at Peleru of Annamayya district during his pada yatra ‘Yuva Galam’, Lokesh said that it is really disgraceful that those who attended the summit to invest in the State have fought for gift articles.

What is more ironical is that the Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) have been signed without using any papers, Lokesh ridiculed.

Companies like Lulu, Kia, Franklin Templeton, Amara Raja and others which have launched their units in the State are chased out by Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, with his hungry for money.

As the industrialists were unable to meet the demand of ‘J’ tax, they left the State as a result of which lakhs of youth lost employment opportunities, Lokesh remarked. ”I am going to address a media conference on Monday to reveal the actual facts,” the TDP national general secretary said.

Even in Somalia, people will not fight how the so-called investors fought for food and gift items, Lokesh observed. A binami company of Jagan called Indosol of Kadapa offered to invest Rs 76,000 cr while an IT company called Sirantica, which has only 50 employees, said that it will invest Rs 8,000 cr.

Is it possible for these companies to make such huge investments, he asked. All this drama is being played only to grab valuable lands in the cities, Lokesh stated.

Jagan Reddy is taking all sections, now even the businessmen, for a ride, Lokesh said. Employees, SCs, STs, minorities, women and all other sections are being cheated by Jagan, he added.

Peleru on Sunday witness a massive gathering who visited the area only to see Lokesh. They all formed into a queue stretching over two to three km to witness the TDP national general secretary.

Jagan made teachers as security guards at liquor shops, says Lokesh

0

Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is such an idiotic leader who forced teachers to act as security guards before liquor shops, remarked TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Sunday.

Teachers, who are in the sacred profession who design the future generations, are forced to work as security guards before liquor shops, Lokesh said, expressing deep concern over the humiliation meted out to the teaching community.

Leaders of the Andhra Pradesh Teachers Federation (APTF) met Lokesh at the Bhagyanagar campsite in Chandragiri Assembly segment and explained their series of problems. They wanted a fixed policy for transfer of teachers and payment of their salaries on the first of every month.

They informed Lokesh that since there is no security for their provident fund and the amount paid by them for insurance, the teachers wanted that the payment be made to them whenever they need funds. The teachers also wanted the facial recognition system to be withdrawn and biometric systems to be reintroduced as during the TDP regime.

Responding to their problems, Lokesh said that except the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government till now cases were not registered against the teachers who fought for their genuine demands. He promised to solve all their demands once the TDP forms the government again and also create a friendly atmosphere in which they can discharge their duties in a free and fair manner.

Expressing serious concern over the teachers drafting for duties like security guards before liquor shops, Lokesh assured them that better facilities will be provided to the community. Also both English and Telugu media will be reintroduced in all the educational institutions, he said.

Before beginning his pada yatra ‘Yuva Galam’ on Sunday, Lokesh had a special darshan of Goddess Padmavati at Tiruchanur. The fans of Lokesh welcomed him with Gaja Mala on the temple precincts.

State police behaviour is strange, feels Lokesh

1

The behaviour of the State police is somewhat strange and is changing on a day-to-day basis, felt TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh.

Interacting with the villagers of Sadasivapuram and Modugulapadu of Srikalahasti Assembly segment on Wednesday as part of his ongoing pada yatra, ‘Yuva Galam’, Lokesh said that ”the police are snatching away my mike even if I do not use it and pulling my bench.”

Lokesh felt that the duty of the police is not to cause obstructions to him but to check the rapists, murderers and gangsters. The TDP general secretary advised Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, to concentrate on resolving the problems of the common man.

”The students are not getting fee reimbursement and the youth is struggling to get employment. Instead of creating problems for me, concentrate on such issues,” Lokesh told Jagan.

Making it clear that nobody can stifle his voice gifted by the great personality, N T Rama Rao, the TDP general secretary said that he is not even scared of the atrocities of the Chief Minister. Lokesh said that the only solution for the State to progress and to resolve the problems of all sections is that TDP supremo, Chandrababu Naidu, should become the chief minister again.

Later, Lokesh had a meeting with the farmers of Madi Bala and Rajula Kandriga. Terming Jagan Mohan Reddy as a holiday Chief minister, he pointed out that during the YSRCP rule there are crop holidays, power holiday and aqua holiday.

Promising the farmers to interlink the employment guarantee scheme with agriculture soon after the TDP assumes power, Lokesh said that the TDP will soon announce its action plan to resolve the problems being faced by the farmers.

Observing that Jagan has cheated the entire farming community, Lokesh said that the State Government has imposed an additional burden on the farmers.

After YSRCP came to power, AP has created a record of sorts like the State stood on top in debts, and farmers suicides and less MRP, Lokesh felt. Leave alone launching new factories, Jagan is chasing out the existing units resulting in the youth losing employment, he added.

Lokesh promises to set up Islamic bank

0

TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Tuesday promised to establish Islamic bank once the party forms the government again.

After a two-day gap, Lokesh began his pada yatra ‘Yuva Galam’ on Tuesday and he interacted with the representatives of the Muslim community at Sri Kalahasthi of Tirupati district where he recalled the formation of the Minorities Corporation by NT Rama Rao, the founder of the TDP.

”Despite the change in the government for the past several years, the corporation was continued but after Jagan Mohan Reddy became the Chief Minister of the State he discontinued it,” Lokesh said.

He assured the Minority community to revive the corporation once the TDP is back in power. Pointing out that Jagan, during his pada yatra promised to set up Islamic bank but he did not keep his word.

”I am promising you that once the TDP forms the government again this Islamic bank will be established,” he said. This Chief Minister discontinued all the welfare schemes launched by Chandrababu Naidu during the TDP regime, Lokesh said and promised to revive all the schemes.

As the ‘Yuva Galam’ reached 300 km at Thondamanupuram panchayat in Srikalahasti Assembly segment, Lokesh assured the villagers to provide safe drinking water within 100 days of coming back to power.

Later, at Thindamanadu village, the TDP national general secretary said that the cheap liquor is now working as pesticide and the farmers instead of the pesticides can use the cheap liquor. He also interacted with women who came to collect their gas cylinders. He said that the subsidy on gas cylinders is not being paid to the consumers.

He also promised to do justice to communities like Gandla, Telikula and Deva Telikula once the TDP is back into the government.

During his pada yatra, Lokesh met the groundnut farmers who narrated their problems to him. A farmer, Venkat Reddy, said that for the past three years they have been incurring heavy losses in agriculture and the State Government is not coming to their rescue.

Another farmer told Lokesh that due to spurious seeds and fertilisers the farming community in the district has been facing several problems. They also said that there is no MSP for the farm products due to which they are incurring huge losses in agriculture.

Later addressing the villagers, Lokesh made it clear that though he strongly opposed the GO no 1 but he will always respect the law. ”Though we are peacefully holding the meetings, the State Government is unnecessarily creating problems for our programmes,” he added.

Lokesh made it clear that he will not discontinue his pada yatra though the State Government is making every effort to create hurdles to him. He also promised to take all possible measures to come to the rescue of all communities once the TDP forms the government.

TDP’s Lokesh temporarily suspends padyatra

0

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) general secretary Nara Lokesh has temporarily suspended his ongoing padyatra in view of the passing away of his cousin and actor Nandamuri Taraka Ratna.

Lokesh, whose ‘Yuva Galam’ padyatra was passing through Srikalahasti constituency in Chittoor district, stopped the foot march on learning about Taraka Ratna’s death on Saturday night and left for Hyderabad.

Lokesh, son of TDP president and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Sunday paid their last respects to Taraka Ratna at the latter’s house at Mokila in Rangaeddy district near Hyderabad. He was accompanied by his wife Brahmini.

Lokesh calls Roja as Jabardast Aunt

1

TDP general secretary and former minister Nara Lokesh, who entered the Nagari Assembly constituency on Monday, called local MLA and Minister for Tourism, R K Roja, as “Jabardast Aunt”. Roja was the judge for the popular TV show, Jabardast for several years and hence Lokesh called her Jabardast Aunt.

Addressing a meeting as part of his Yuvagalam Padayatra, Lokesh accused the minister of encouraging corruption in the constituency. He said that the minister was encouraging smuggling of sand and gravel to the neighbouring Tamil Nadu state.

The former minister also alleged that Roja had appointed her representatives in every mandal to collect bribes and other unlawful earnings on a daily basis. He said that the people of Nagari fell in the trap of Roja for the two consecutive elections and did not vote for the TDP. However, this time, the people are ready to show the door to Roja in the next election, Lokesh said.

Lokesh also alleged that chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had turned blind eye to the problems of the people. He alleged that Jagan had gone back on every promise and had betrayed the people after winning the election.

The TDP leader said that Jagan was also not coming out of his Tadepalli palace due to fear of facing the people. He said that Jagan is now reaching out to the people through the mobile phone and requesting people to support him again in the next election.

Calling Jagan as psycho, Lokesh alleged that Jagan had appointed one psycho for every district. He said Minister Peddireddy Ramchandra Reddy had become a psycho for Chittoor district who was harassing the people.

Lokesh appealed to the people of Nagari constituency to defeat Jabardast Aunt in the coming election and ensure that TDP formed the government in the state.

Lokesh promises to put an end to gravel, sand mafia

0

The sand and gravel mafia is ruling the roost in the State and the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government is only interested in collecting taxes in various ways while the industrial sector is impacted the most with the faulty policies of the ruling dispensation, observed general secretary of the TDP, Nara Lokesh on Monday.

During the ongoing pada yatra ‘Yuva Galam’, the Communist Party of India (CPI) Nagari Assembly segment incharge, Kodandaiah, met Lokesh at China Raja Kuppam and explained to him that the locals are suffering a lot due to the sand and gravel mafia. Also, the lands of the SCs and STs are being forcibly acquired by the Andhra Pradesh Industrial and Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) in the name of development, the CPI leader told Lokesh.

Kodandaiah wanted Lokesh to take the issues of establishing a university and a teaching hospital at Chittor. He also made an appeal to the TDP general secretary to fight for setting up industries in the district to provide employment to the local youth.

Responding to the CPI leader’s request, Lokesh said that he will make every effort to put an end to the sand and gravel mafia when the TDP forms the government. Except chasing the industries out of the State, Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, does not have even basic knowledge about industrialisation, the TDP leader said that the problems of the Nagari Assembly segment will be resolved when the TDP forms the government again.

Earlier, at the campsite near the Sri Venkateswara Perumal College of Engineering, Lokesh had selfies with the locals. He also addressed the locals on various issues and promised to initiate necessary measures to resolve their problems once the TDP is back in power.

Lokesh promises to bring down prices after TDP forms govt

0

TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Sunday expressed confidence that the TDP is winning the coming polls to form the government again and will certainly bring down the prices of diesel and petrol.

Lokesh, who was on his pada yatra ‘Yuva Galam’, on Sunday just greeted an auto driver at TT Kandriga village in Gangadhara Nellore Assembly segment and asked how much is the diesel for which the auto driver replied that it is Rs 95.39 per litre.

“How come you are getting it for a lesser price,” Lokesh asked and the auto driver made it clear that he fills the fuel to his auto in Tamil Nadu since he lives in the border area.

“It is certain that the TDP is going to come to power again and the taxes on fuel will be reduced to control the prices and there will be no need for you to cross the State border to fill fuel to your vehicle,” Lokesh told him.

Later, at Eedigapalle, the Gouda community representatives met Lokesh and submitted a memorandum to him explaining the problems they were facing. Responding to them, Lokesh promised all the steps to resolve their issues once the TDP is back in power and his party is committed to the welfare of the toddy-tapper community.

Lokesh also promised to take measures for construction of roads and also extend financial assistance and subsidies to them through the BC Welfare Corporation. “Our sole aim is that this psycho should go and cycle should come back,” Lokesh said.

Addressing the locals at KM Puram of Karvetinagaram of Gangadhara Nellore segment on their request, Mr Lokesh made it clear that “my mike may be grabbed from me but my voice can not be choked. The people are my strength. I always raise my voice against this atrocious rule,” he said.

Pointing out that several leaders undertook pada yatra earlier in the State, Lokesh asked why problems were being created only for him when he began his pada yatra. “My campaign vehicle and sound system have been seized while my mike was grabbed from me by the police. But the police can not choke my voice and I will raise my tone even if there is no mike,” he made it clear.

Andhra youth migrating to other states for jobs: Lokesh

0

Youth from Andhra Pradesh are migrating to various parts of the country in search of employment opportunities as there are no jobs in the state, TDP national General Secretary Nara Lokesh said on Sunday.

As part of his ongoing padayatra ‘Yuva Galam’, Lokesh, the son of TDP chief and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, had a meeting with the local youth at Kanipakam in Puthalapattu Assembly segment in Chittoor district.

The youth informed Lokesh that they are migrating to other states in search of some employment and wanted him to initiate immediate steps for establishing companies in the state soon after coming back to power, thus saving the lives of the youth. “The state government should not threaten the companies and only then the investors will set up their units in the state,” a youth said.

The youth from Rayalaseema lost employment opportunities as the Amara Raja Batteries shifted its unit to Telangana. They told the TDP leader that they pursued their studies by raising loans and now there is no employment.

Lokesh assured the youth that all the companies that shifted their units from the state will be invited back once the TDP is again into the government and the youth will be provided employment opportunities.

Responding to the complaint that the RTC fares are revised following which there is a lot of financial burden on them, Lokesh promised to withdraw once the TDP is back in the government.

The TDP national General Secretary also demanded that the age limit be extended for government jobs since the employment notifications are issued very late.

“Why is the job calendar not released on January 1 as promised,” Lokesh asked and said that over 2.30 lakh posts have been lying vacant for the past four years.

“Chief Minister Mr Jagan (Mohan Reddy) who had said that he would make Delhi tremble if the voters from the State give him 25 MPs, is now getting shivers on seeing Delhi,” Lokesh said in a sarcastic manner.

Jagan is a liar, says Lokesh

0

TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Sunday said that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is afraid of people and thus he always moves in public places behind curtains.

Lokesh had a meeting at Thavanampalle of Puthalapattu Assembly segment as part of his ongoing pada yatra ‘Yuva Galam’ where he said that Jagan is more scared of the CBI.

“If you want a better future for the youth in the State and if the youth should get jobs, this psycho should be out of power immediately and the cycle government should come back,” Lokesh remarked.

What is the fun in organising the Naadu-Nedu programme as there are no basic facilities in the schools and other educational institutions, Lokesh asked and stated that at least 17 cases are filed against him now as he is moving among the people. “I am not scared of such false cases,” he said.

Terming Jagan as a liar who always takes the people for a ride, Lokesh dared the Chief Minister to come for an open debate as to who is behind several companies setting up their units in the State and who chased the companies out of the State.

“A Minister in the Jagan Cabinet himself admitted on the floor of the Assembly that six lakh jobs were created during the TDP regime,” he said and observed that the people are now fed up with the YSRCP rule.

Representatives of Paramedics met Lokesh during the pada yatra. They informed Lokesh that there is no evidence that they have completed the community paramedics training since the certificates have not been issued to them, following which they are being subjected to frequent harassment by the government officials.

They appealed to Lokesh to take up the matter with the authorities concerned and also to recognise them as first referrals. Responding to their appeals, Lokesh said that the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government is completely ignoring the health sector and miserably failing in utilising the services of the paramedics in rural areas. He promised to take steps to resolve their issues soon after the TDP government is formed again.

Lokesh says shivering in YSRCP with Yuvagalam

1

TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Friday said that he is undertaking the pada yatra with the right that the TDP has developed the State.

Addressing his maiden meeting at Kuppam on launching his Yuva Galam pada yatra, Mr Lokesh said that soon after he announced about his programme of Yuva Galam, the YSRCP leaders started shivering.

“At least 10 Cabinet Ministers began criticising me asking with what right I am undertaking the pada yatra. I have every right as it is the TDP that was behind laying 25,000 km long cement roads in the State,” he said.

“I am approaching the people as I have provided employment in the Information Technology sector to 40,000 youth as IT minister,” Lokesh said, adding that he also provided employment to another 40,000 youth in the electronic sector.

Stating that he was minister three portfolios and had every right to undertake the pada yatra, the TDP national general secretary questioned the YSRCP as to what the party had done for the State in the past three-and-half years.

Observing that investors will not set up their units in the State if the Ministers dance on the roads like the YSRCP leaders, Lokesh said that inviting investments does not mean to run casinos. Seeking one chance from the voters, the Chief Minister has taken the State back to 67 years.

AP was formed with the sacrifices made by the great Potti Sriramulu, he said the self-respect of the Telugus has gone up with the efforts of the late NTR. “The prestige of AP has reached the global level with the rule of Chandrababu Naidu and the chief ministers who ruled the State earlier made every effort to develop AP,” he maintained.

TDP seeks permission for padyatra by Chandrababu Naidu’s son

The main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has sought police permission for the padyatra of party president Chandrababu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh.

TDP leader Varla Ramaiah has written a letter to the Director General of Police, seeking permission for party general secretary Nara Lokesh’s padyatra scheduled to start on January 27.

Requesting the police chief to accord permission and provide adequate security, he assured the DGP that they will not cause any hindrance to the free flow of traffic and maintenance of law and order.

Varla Ramaiah, who is also general secretary of the party, stated that Lokesh faces threat to his life from extremists, factionists and political rivals.

“We also request you to provide necessary security arrangements throughout the padayatra and at the night halt venues in order to avoid any untoward incident. Further, it is requested to give appropriate directions to all the police stations across the State to provide adequate security to the padayatra,” he wrote.

Lokesh has announced that he will undertake a 4,000 km padyatra from Kuppam to Ichchapuram in 400 days.

Titled ‘Yuva Galam’, Lokesh’s padyatra will be an innovative platform for youth. The TDP said that it would be a campaign to mobilise the youth to participate in the agenda-setting process, as well as to raise their voices to express their opinions and demand change.

However, doubts remain on whether the police would give permission for the padyatra as the state government last week issued an order prohibiting meetings on roads. The order was issued in the wake of December 28 stampede during a road show of Chandrababu Naidu at Kandukur that claimed eight lives.

The opposition parties have slammed the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government for the move calling it an attempt to muzzle the voice of opposition.

Following the Government Order, the TDP chief was stopped from conducting road shows and addressing public meetings during his visit to Kuppam, his Assembly constituency in Chittoor district.

Actor and Jana Sena Party (JSP) leader Pawan Kalyan on Sunday met Chandrababu Naidu to express solidarity with him. The two leaders announced that they along with other opposition parties will launch a joint movement against the Government Order. They said their movement would continue till the government takes back the “black order”.

The TDP senior leaders led by party AP unit president K Atchen Naidu released the posters of Nara Lokesh’s proposed padayatra. They hoisted the padayatra flag at the party headquarters at Mangalagiri on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the TDP leaders expressed confidence that the padayatra would change the face of the state politics in the years to come. They have also expressed confidence that Lokesh would bring the party to power after the 2024 elections.

TDP politburo member and former minister, Nakka Anananda Babu, said that Jagan Mohan Reddy can be thrown out of power only if the awareness is brought among the youth. Jagan who came to power by promising prohibition is now selling adulterated liquor and all the liquor shops and distilleries are being managed by the Government, he said.

“Even ganja and other drugs are freely available in almost all parts of the State and the State Government is now surviving on the revenue generated through the selling of these drugs,” Anananda Babu said.

Another TDP politburo member, Kalva Srinivasulu, said that Lokesh, during his pada yatra, will directly interact with all the people to have first-hand information on the problems being faced by them. “Lokesh will certainly try to build self-confidence among the youth, who are now totally disappointed with this Government’s policies not to provide employment to them,” Srinivasulu remarked.

Observing that Lokesh, who held the portfolio of the IT and Panchayat Raj knows pretty well the problems of the youth, Srinivasulu said that he is now coming to the youth to hear them and formulate certain policies on how to take them forward.

Former minister and another TDP politburo member, Nimmakayala China Rajappa, expressed the hope that the 4000-km-long pada yatra for 400 days of Lokesh will be a resounding success.

The former chairman of the Legislative Council and party’s politburo member, M A Sheriff said that he is happy that Lokesh, who is known for honesty and credibility, is going to mingle with the people to share their problems. It is the TDP that gave a very good future for the youth, the party leaders said.
