‘ Sir ‘ Movie Review – Right to Quality Education !

SIR Movie Review

Story :
Bala Gangadhara Tilak alias Balu ( Dhanush ) is a junior lecturer in a private college. He works for Tripathi educational institute, which adapts a few government colleges due to a government order. Balu is deployed to a rural government college in which students dropped out due to financial reasons and due to lack of awareness about good education. Balu’s aim is to improve the student’s attendance and achieve state ranks in EAMCET for his students.

Analysis :
The story premise sounds familiar as Hrithik’s ‘Super 30’ film but the comparison ends there. SIR movie deals with the Intermediate college system’s failure. Commercial educational institutes in the 1990s successfully brainwashed parents that quality education comes only with higher fees. This film narrates how private institutions had systematically collapsed the Government ones. The film also touches caste system in rural areas.

Director Venky Atluri quite often plays it to the galleries. Though the scenes are predictable, they are effective in generating emotion. APJ Abdul Kalam Sir Scene, Sai Kumar, and Police Inspector realization scenes are good. They are very forced emotional scenes like the one in which students seek bullock carts ride to go for the EAMCET exam etc. However, the core subject covers up the flaws. If the dramatization is replaced with a few creative or fresh scenes this film would have been standing out.

Production values by Sithara entertainments are good, they have promoted this film aggressively. G V Prakash background score fits into the theme.

Dhanush excelled in the lecturer Balu role. His innocent face gels perfectly with the Balu characterization. Samyuktha Menon as a biology lecturer is fine. Saikumar as siripuram village president appeared on screen after a gap, he is good. Sumanth who played A.S.Murthy character narrates the entire story from his point of view. Hyper Aadi plays a co-lecturer role and has few jokes in his work. Samudrakhani as the owner of educational institutions is good casting.

Positives:
– Dhanush performance
– Very Good subject
– Heart touching Emotions

Negatives:
-Predictable scenes
– Forced Dramatization at times

Verdict:

SIR is a melodramatic film with a good subject. You will root for the subject, for the underdog hero, and for students. The predictable scenes and the over-dramatization negate the good subject to an extent. Overall, a decent watch.

Dhanush winning hearts of Telugu audience

Dhanush’s SIR film released today in theatres and the response is quite positive. The actor promoted the film aggressively even in Telugu states. Dhanush was here for the trailer launch and gave interviews for the media and attended all the promotional events in Telugu that were planned by the producer. A grand pre-release event was held and Dhanush was present

When it comes to other Tamil heroes like Vijay and Ajith, they had two big film releases in Telugu recently, but they never turned up for promotions before the release in Telugu. Even after pouring soo much money on the movie, Dil Raju was unable to pull Vijay completely for Telugu promotions. He was here only for the success party. and when it comes to Thala Ajith Kumar, he was never here.

Dhanush shows his respect to the Telugu audience and industry. The actor’s attitude is winning hearts and the film as well. Naga Vamshi from Sithara Entertainments produced the film and Venky Atluri is the director.

All eyes on Dhanush and Sir

0

Tamil actor Dhanush is making his straight Telugu debut with Sir, a social drama laced with all the commercial elements. Venky Atluri is the director and the response for the trailer is impressive. This would be the first Telugu film of Dhanush and the actor is all excited about the release. Dhanush also lined up two more films in Telugu and Sir would be a crucial film for the actor. The film should end up as a commercial success for sure as none of his recent films did well in Telugu. For Dhanush to be considered for many more bilinguals and to work with more Telugu directors, Sir should end up as a hit.

Sir is produced by Sithara Entertainments and Dhanush plays a school teacher in this social drama. The film is releasing on February 17th in Telugu and Tamil languages. All the theatrical and non-theatrical deals are closed recently. Dhanush will soon commence the shoot of Sekhar Kammula’s film and the film releases next year. Dhanush also signed a film for top producer Dil Raju and Kishore Reddy would direct this film.

Memes Are The Reason For Doing Sir: Venky

0

Memes can make you laugh and can make you scared as well. They can be a source of entertainment or engineered to promote information that is false. Do you know memes impacted a director to think differently in penning stories? It’s Venky Atluri who is known for making romantic entertainers.

The director during the trailer launch event of Sir said, “I quite often watch memes. I saw a meme that says if I make Naarappa, the second half would have been set in London. At that moment, I decided not to make love stories. I wrote the story of Sir during the lockdown and Dhanush liked the content. Everything fell into place after Dhanush accepted the movie.”

Dhanush thanked his director Venky Atluri and producer Naga Vamshi for their support. “Earlier Tamil cinema, Telugu cinema, Malayalam cinema and Kannada cinema were different. Now everyone is watching all movies. Everything has become one Indian film industry. Now you all are watching Tamil movies and we are all watching Telugu movies. This change is good actually. Now I have come to promote my Telugu movie.

This film is a story that takes place in a village on the border of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Both cultures coexist. Then I realized how close we all are. That is a wonderful thing. I am happy to act in such a story.” Dhanush also sang a song on the stage.

The trailer of Sir received an overwhelming response and assured this is going to be a wholesome entertainer with a message. Producer Naga Vamsi believes the movie will do wonders in Telugu as well as Tamil.

Trailer out for Dhanush’s Telugu-Tamil bilingual ‘Sir/Vaathi’

0

Dhanush’s Telugu-Tamil bilingual ‘Sir’ (Telugu)/’Vaathi’ (Tamil) directed by Venky Atluri is all set for a grand release worldwide on February 17. Ahead of the theatrical release, the film’s trailer is out now.

The movie has Dhanush essaying the role of a college teacher taking on the education mafia.

The chairman of a private educational institution announces the adoption of several government colleges to provide better education to students in rural areas. Dhanush is one of the teachers who is sent as faculty. He falls in love with a teacher played by Samyuktha Menon, and the two believe that they can do some good for the college. Dhanush, however, takes on the education mafia when he realises the real motive behind sending them to the rural areas.

Venky Atluri, who previously made youthful entertainers, has now come up with a movie that has a socially relevant message. The trailer assures a hard-hitting social drama that throws light on several issues which distress the education segment.

The dialogues are thought-provoking and at times whistle-worthy too.

Dhanush fits the part of a junior lecturer well and the role offers him various emotions that complete a commercial hero outing, and there’s more. It’s not completely a serious role. Samuthirakani plays the antagonist in the film. The presence of Hyper Aadi promises to add a good dose of comedy as well.

The film has cinematography by J. Yuvraj while the music has been composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar.

Produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, ‘Sir/Vaathi’ promises to be an entertainer with a message.

Dhanush Sir’s Banjara Song: Catchy Number

0

Hero Dhanush will next be seen in a Telugu-Tamil bilingual Sir which is slated for a release on February 17th. It’s exactly one month left for the release; thus, the makers increase the dose of promotions.

As part of musical promotions, the film’s second single Banjara has been released. GV Prakash Kumar scored a catchy number with lovely beats. Anurag Kulkarni sang this travel track pleasingly, while Suddala Ashok Teja’s lyrics are stimulating.

Dhanush’s dances are so charming in the song that shows GV Prakash Kumar and Anurag Kulkarni on a road trip. Like the track, and the vocals, the visuals are also equally fascinating.

Venky Atluri is directing this movie produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya on Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas banners.

Tollywood producers furious on Dil Raju

Top producer Dil Raju took the initiative and suggested a strike for other producers to get things to control. He is the face of the Active Producers Guild of Tollywood and a series of meetings are planned this week to discuss about the hurdles the producers are facing. Leaving everyone in shock and surprise, the shoot of Dil Raju’s Vaarasudu featuring Vijay happened in Vizag as per the plan. Dil Raju came up with a silly explanation that Vaarasudu is a Tamil film and it is not a Telugu film.

Tollywood top producers are now furious on Dil Raju about his acts, statements and the work he has been doing. Dil Raju delivered fake promises recently. He said that he did not hike the ticket prices for Naga Chaitanya’s Thank You but the tickets were sold for high prices. Dil Raju is trolled on social media and the Tollywood media houses attacked him for his acts. Another active member of the Guild, S Naga Vamsi continued the shoot of Dhanush’s Sir and the shoot is happening in Ramoji Film City. Though the producers are tight-lipped, everyone is furious on Dil Raju and Naga Vamsi.

As discussed earlier, the Tollywood producers have to stand united to cross all the barriers and resolve all the issues. Else, the issues will never get resolved.
