Modi’s sudden visit shocks Central Vista engineers

1

Prime Minister Modi is deeply adored and vehemently hated in equal measure. His detractors call him names and blame him for everything under the son. While those who like him praise him to the skies. But, love him or hate him, one cannot but wonder in amazement at his indefatigable energy. He never shows tiredness one bit in his daily routine.

After four days of hectic US visit, where he attended over 25 meetings, addressed the UN General Assembly, met several world leaders and then had 15 hours of back-breaking journey, the PM went on a sudden visit of the work site of the Central Vista project on Sunday night. With a couple of hours after returning from the US tour, the PM went on a sudden visit to the Central Vista project site.

The engineers working at the site were shocked and surprised to see Modi. They were nonplussed seeing him inspecting the construction works. He then enquired from them about the progress of the project. He spent over an hour with the engineers inspecting every inch. He asked pertinent questions and then asked them about their working conditions. This was a pleasant surprise for the officials. Later, the prime minister left for his residence.

The social media is flooded with the photographs of the PM’s sudden visit, posted by the staff working at the site. As it kicked up a storm, the media houses rushed to the site, but by that time, the PM was already gone. Modi perhaps is the only Prime Minister who hasn’t taken a leave or rested for a day so far despite being in the high office.

Modi’s image removed from Supreme Court e-mails

0

The Supreme Court administered a shock to the government on Saturday when it asked the Central government-run National Informatics Centre (NIC) to remove the image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in e-mails sent to the advocates by the Registry of the Supreme Court. Late on Friday night, the registry of the Supreme Court said that it directed the NIC to drop the image from the footer of the emails originating from the e mail.

Instead, the registry has begun putting the image of the illuminated Supreme Court in place of Narendra Modi Modi’s image was put as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to mark the 75 years of independence next year. However, a lawyer petitioned against placing the ad containing a snapshot of Modi on the emails emanating from the Supreme Court.

The NIC said that the same format and script was being used on all NIC platforms. Earlier, a message from mahatma Gandhi was used on the occasion of Gandhi’s birth anniversary However, we have removed Modi’s image following the directions of the Supreme Court, an official said. He said the image of Modi was replaced by an image of the Supreme Court.

An advocate said that the Supreme Court should not only be independent, but also look independent. He said that the image of the Supreme Court should be seen as being different from that of a political party. Such association should be avoided, he said.

KCR making grand arrangements for Modi’s visit to Yadadri

0

Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao has started making grand arrangements for the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Yadadri temple.

It may be recalled that KCR invited Modi for the inauguration of renovated Yadadri temple complex, the dream project of KCR being undertaken at a cost of Rs 1,200 crore.

KCR extended an invitation to Modi when he met him in Delhi recently on September 3.

KCR requested Modi to attend the inaugural event as Chief Guest.

Modi readily accepted KCR’s invitation and promised him that he will attend the event without fail.

KCR informed Modi that the inauguration will be either in October last week or in early-November.

With just two months time left and several works remain pending in Yadadri, KCR is rushing to Yadadri on September 14 to inspect the works and speed up works to meet deadlines and to finalise grand arrangements for Modi’s first visit to Yadadri temple.

KCR is expected to spend five to six hours in Yadadri temple complex on September 14.

Olympic glory: How Modi won a gold medal in politics?

1

Who will have a cone of ice cream when ace shuttler PV Sindhu comes back from Tokyo Olympics with a medal? Who will congratulate the Indian Men’s hockey team when they win a medal after 41 years? Who will console the Indian women’s hockey player when the team lost their battle for the bronze? Who will call them and give a pep talk to them even as the losing Indian Hockey girls are weeping inconsolably in the team huddle?

No marks for guessing! It’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. From congratulating Meera Bai Chanu to Ravi Dahiya, Modi has used the Olympics like no other politician. India’s performance this time is the best and winner after winner thanked the encouragement given by Modi and the facilities provided by the sports ministry. Most medal winners were from BJP-ruled states and the cash rewards and awards flowed in.

More importantly, Modi knows how to beat the rivals in the political game. With one stroke of pen, he has changed the name of Rajiv Khel Ratna to Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna. Normally, removing Rajiv Gandhi’s name in normal times is a suicidal move. But, Modi timed it so well that no one can object to it. He is replacing Rajiv Gandhi’s name with hockey’s demi God Dhyan Chand. At a time when the nation is celebrating India’s best hockey performance in 41 years, he has used dead Dhyan Chand to edge out Rajiv Gandhi.

Not just that. There is a political angle to it. Dhyan Chand is from Uttar Pradesh and UP is going to polls sometime in March 2022. By honouring Dhyan Chand, Modi is also sending a political message to the UP voters. So, he killed many birds with one shot. He can claim that the improved medal tally is because of the government’s interest in developing and promoting sports.

Modi’s dilemma: Huzurabad or Bhabanipur?

1

When asked to choose between helping Eatala or hitting Mamta Banerjee, what will Prime Minister Narendra Modi choose? This, those in the know say, will determine the date of Huzurabad bypoll. They say that there is a link between Bhabanipur and Huzurabad.

Mamta Banerjee faces a tricky situation. Her party has won a thumping victory in West Bengal, but she herself stood defeated from Nandigram. So, she is now seeking byelection from Bhabanipur assembly constituency. The MLA from Bhabanipur has already resigned to make way for Mamta Banerjee. But, she has to get elected before October7. For this, the notification has to be issued by Mid August. If the notification is issued late, she would not be in a position to continue as the CM. She may have to resign for a day and get reelected or may have to appoint someone else as CM. Both ways, Mamta would be in deep trouble.

The Election Commission, which has been chided by the courts for holding elections during Covid pandemic, will now be very cagey about announcing the dates. If the Central government gives an adverse report, the bypolls could be delayed.

But this is bad news for Eatala Rajender, who is eagerly awaiting the bypolls. As of now, he is enjoying an advantage in Huzurabad. But, as the days pass by and as various schemes get implemented, the TRS may gain an upper hand. That would be bad news for Eatala. So, the question is what will the Centre do now?

Hi to Modi BJP …bye bye Atal-Advani BJP

0

This is a new BJP, not Atal-Advani BJP – this is a comment that we often hear from the BJP old-timers. They use this expression to decry the changing character of the BJP. They use this to say that Atal-Advani era politicians are more idealistic compared to today’s cutthroat politicians. However, after the latest reshuffle in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, the old generation is all but gone.

One look at the latest list of ministers shows that there are just about four ministers who had served in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee cabinet. They are Rajnath Singh, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Prahlad Patel and Sripad Yasso Naik. Rajath Singh was UP Chief Minister for some time and later became agriculture minister in Vajpayee cabinet. Later, he served as the BJP national president. In Modi 1.0, he was the Home Minister and in the Modi 2.0, he is holding the crucial defence ministry. Naqvi, Naik and Patel were ministers of state in Vajapayee cabinet.

The remaining ministers are all young and have become ministers at the centre for the first time. Interestingly, many of them are less than 55 years of age. A record 11 ministers in the Modi cabinet are less than 45 years of age.

The Modi 1.0 had several Vajpayee-era politicians as ministers. There were leaders like Menaka Gandhi, Suresh Prabhu, Uma Bharti, Anant Gite, Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Vijay Goel in Modi 1.0. They all had served under Vajpaye. They were all dropped when Modi came to power in 2019. Then there were leaders like Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Anantakumar and Ram Vilas Paswan, who passed away. They were ministers under both the BJP PMs.

Interestingly, neither Modi nor Amit Shah were MPs when Vajpayee was the prime minister. Yes. Today’s BJP is not the BJP of Atal-Advani.

Modi ignoring Jagan’s letters repeatedly!

1

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is frequently writing letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on various issues concerning AP.

But there is no response to any of the letters written by Jagan from either PM Modi or PMO (Prime Minister’s Office).

Jagan on Wednesday (today) wrote yet another letter to Modi complaining against Telangana government for utilising Krishna water for hydel power generation and pushing Andhra Pradesh into water crisis.

This is the second letter of Jagan to Modi in less than a week on the same issue.

It’s only last Thursday that Jagan wrote to Modi complaining against TS and requesting him to stop TS government from generating hydel power.

But there was no response so far from PM. With this, Jagan wrote a letter again to Modi today requesting him to stop Telangana government from utilising Krishna water for hydel power generation.

Not only this, even there is no response to Jagan’s letter written to Modi in March seeking his appointment to lead all-party delegation to him to submit a representation requesting Centre to stop privatisation of Vizag Steel Plant. But PM did not respond and did not give appointment so far.

Modi ignoring CM’s letters repeatedly is embarrassing YSRCP leaders and cadre.

Jagan complains to Modi against TS Govt on Krishna water row!

0

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy dashed off a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union Jal Shakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat late on Thursday complaining against Telangana government for unilaterally taking up hydel power generation at Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar projects by diverting Krishna water.

Jagan requested Modi to deploy CRPF forces and take control of these dams since TS government has deployed heavy police force and preventing AP officials to discharge their duties.

Jagan urged Modi to take steps to stop hydel power generation immediately. He expressed concern that Rayalaseema, Prakasam, Nellore districts in AP and Chennai will be worst affected if TS government takes up hydel power generation despite low water levels in dams.

Jagan said TS government’s moves are not good for relations between AP and TS.

Jagan requested Modi to see that TS government takes up hydel power generation only with the permission of KRMB.

He complained that TS government is taking up hydel power generation ignoring KRMB orders.

Modi’s popularity is fast nose-diving

1

An international survey by a prestigious approval rating tracker has proved once again that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity is falling down significantly. This year’s survey by American data intelligence firm Morning Consult says that while Modi is still the most popular in India, his ratings are falling down.

The survey report, which is out on Thursday evening, says that Modi’s approval ratings hav fallen down to 66 per cent from 75 per cent last year. The fall in just one year is a significant 9 per cent. The fall is clearly due to the inept handling of the Covid second wave in India, which left a trail of death and destruction in India. Also, there is a growing disenchantment with his handling of the economy also. Earlier, Modi’s approval ratings were the envy of every ruler. It was 84 per cent. From 84 per cent, the ratings fell down last year to 74 per cent. The latest approval ratings are at 66 per cent.

But there is some good news for Modi lovers. He still continues to top the chart of popular leaders across the world. The tracker, which surveyed 13 countries and their respective leaders, still puts Modi at the top of the chart. US president Joe Biden stands sixth among the 13 leaders. His approval ratings are 53 per cent. Vladimir Putin of Russia stands third, while Immanuel Macron of France stands fourth. Outgoing German chancellor Angela Merkel stands fifth.

The approval rating tracker puts Italian premier Mario Draghi next to Modi. His approval ratings are 65 per cent, just one per cent less than Modi. Mexican president Amlo has 63 per cent and he is in the third position.

Among all the 13 leaders studied, Japanese prime minister Sugo has the least approval ratings. He has just 29 per cent. So, it’s both a good news and bad news for Modi. The good news is he tops among the 13 leaders. But the bad news is – his popularity ratings are definitely nose-diving.

Centre to vaccinate all Indians free of cost: Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has indicated that in view of the demands of several state governments, the Centre will provide free vaccines to all the states. He also said that even those below 18 years of age would be given free vaccines. He said the free vaccine would be provided to people of all age and income groups. He said this ambitious programme would be unveiled from June 21.

In his broadcast to the nation on Monday, Modi said that those who want to pay and get vaccinated in private hospitals. The private hospitals will collect only Rs 150 towards service charges over and above the vaccine cost. He said the monitoring of the private hospitals would be left to the state Government. He said that the states would be allocated quotas and the state governments would be given prior notices to get ready for the vaccination.

In another major announcement, he said that the Pradhan Mantri Garib Yojana, under which free rice would be supplied to over 80 crore people till November. He said this would ensure that the people would not go without food.

He also decried the devious attempts made in some quarters to belittle the quality of India’s indigenous vaccines. He said such people were playing with the lives of gullible people. He also asked the public at large to be vigilant and follow all the Covid control procedures. He exuded confidence that India will defeat Corona and emerge stronger. He termed the Covid as the biggest threat to humanity in modern times.

Interestingly, this is the first public address that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made during the second wave of Corona. Though he has addressed the people at least 11 times during the first wave, he has not addressed the nation after the second wave struck the country by April-end.

Modi shock to Jagananna, YSR cash programmes

1

The BJP Government at the Centre has come out with a master plan to get full control on the implementation of all its 57 programmes in the respective States. It will no longer release Central funds directly to the State Governments. Also, funds will be released in four phases every year. Funds will be released only when 75 percent of funds would be spent with proof of works in the previous phase.

This has come as a rude shock to the AP government. For long, the BJP AP leaders have been complaining that Jagan Reddy has become a ‘sticker CM’ by using the Central funds for his programmes. They also complained to the Centre over how the AP government was giving more publicity to its Jagananna and YSR direct benefit transfer schemes while using the Central funds for the same.

The diversion of the NREGS funds for the YCP cash transfer schemes became a big issue. Now, no more diversion will be possible for Jagananna programmes. There will be round-the-year monitoring through nodal agencies formed by the Central Government. Bank accounts will be opened for each Central programme.

Also, there will be Central funds only when matching grants are released from the State. Too much hype on Jagananna, YSR programmes is proving disastrous. No doubt, AP would have to depend more on loans for its cash transfer schemes.

Jagan writes Modi, targets Bharat Biotech

10

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the wake of rising criticism on poor vaccination and oxygen deaths in the State. This time, CM Jagan directly targetted Bharat Biotech. He told Modi that there was a need for technology transfer from Bharat Biotech so that some other companies could contribute to the vaccine making to meet the country’s demand.

Already, the YCP Ministers and CM’s Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy have commented that Bharat Biotech is not supplying Covaxin to AP. They asked Chandrababu Naidu to use his influence since the vaccine maker belongs to his caste. Whereas, Naidu has been saying that the Centre has given permission to AP to buy vaccines it requires from Bharat Biotech or Serum Institute. However, the AP Government is not buying the vaccines for its own reasons.

Now, CM Jagan Reddy told Modi that Bharat Biotech is the only company in the country which is manufacturing the vaccine. If this technology is transferred to other companies, it would solve the crisis.

The CM has also told Modi that till now, the National Institute of Virology and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) have extended all help to procure vaccines for the AP needs.

Jagan defends Modi, mocks at Jharkhand CM

3

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy wasted no time to take to twitter to criticise Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren for his latest comments against PM Modi. Mr. Jagan said that such comments against the Centre at a time of severe epidemic threat would only harm the nation as a whole. India would be weakened further if needless politics was done in the critical Coronavirus time.

Mr. Jagan Reddy responded quickly to defend the Prime Minister even before the BJP Chief Ministers of other States rose to the occasion. Hemant Soren has earlier scoffed at Modi for not doing enough work to come to the rescue of the people in the country during the dangerous epidemic period.

Mr. Jagan has been a strong secret ally for the BJP since the beginning of his party. The AP CM was also a sworn enemy of the Sonia Gandhi family considering how he was not given the Chief Minister post and how the CBI cases were filed against him in the illegal assets issue.

Since Hemant Soren was an ally of Sonia Gandhi, it was obvious that Mr. Jagan quickly countered his comments made against the PM. The Covid dangerous time has triggered a political battle between the NDA and the UPA at the national level.

Modi surprised at AP ‘move’ on churches?

4

Reports were long coming out that the AP Government was bent on calling tenders for constructing churches in the State. Now this issue attracted the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi too. According to YCP rebel MP Raghu Rama Raju, the Prime Minister has specifically asked him to provide more details about the issue of the State Government’s involvement in Andhra Pradesh.

RRR has met the PM and submitted a 25-page memorandum seeking the Centre’s intervention on the issue of the Temple attacks, Amaravati, Polavaram, Visakha Steel Plant, etc. When Raju explained these details, the PM took keen interest about the issue of churches in the State. The MP said that Mr. Modi asked him whether he had given details about the State Government tenders for churches in his 25-page note.

Rajugaru did not provide those details but told the PM that he would submit a detailed note especially on the Government’s involvement in the construction of churches in AP. RRR further said that the PM has also expressed surprise how any Government could get involved in the churches’ construction.

Whatever, Rajugaru has carried out his work meticulously to give a hint to the PM on the issue of churches. Undoubtedly, the Central Government and the BJP have its own network to get details about this. Once the Jagan regime really begins active work on this aspect, then another state and national level controversy will be triggered from AP.

AP BJP fighting with YCP but Modi-Shah friendly with Jagan

0

The BJP AP unit leaders are facing a very ironical tricky situation. They are facing political harassment from the YCP in local body elections. Their candidates are being threatened and injured. They are not being allowed to even file nominations. It is so complicated that BJP AP President Kanna Lakshminarayana had to complain to the State Election Commission against YCP election atrocities especially in Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy’s Punganur segment in Chittoor district. The YCP leaders are attacking BJP without the slightest fear that the BJP Central leadership would take it seriously.

On the other hand, Modi-Shah are suspected to have given their blessings to Jagan Reddy who gave the return gift of one Rajya Sabha seat. The rumours in Delhi political circles are that YCP RS ticket was given to Reliance Natwani as part of Modi-Shah understanding with Jagan.

Now, that has come as a big minus point for BJP AP leaders as well as Jana Senani Pawan Kalyan in field level. They expected YCP to spare their candidates because of Jagan’s CBI cases and the Centre’s capabilities to control him. But, with one stroke, Jagan Reddy gained total upper hand on all the opposition parties in AP.

Will Centre re-notify for AP Capital shifting?

1

From the beginning, the Modi government is refusing to be drawn into the controversy surrounding Jagan Reddy Circar’s 3 Capitals plan. But now, the BJP is clearly under constitutional obligations to decide whether to give green signal or not to the AP Capital shifting. BJP strategist GVL Narasimha Rao has unconsciously announced that the Modi Circar will automatically notify the 3 Capitals plan as part of honouring the Centre-State relations.

On the other hand, RSS ideologues like Rathan Sarda asked whether the BJP government at the Centre would like to simply watch while Jagan Reddy’s arbitrary policies are crippling Andhra Pradesh. They are asking how GVL can make two mutually contradictory statements simultaneously. While saying that the Centre cannot interfere on AP Capital, GVL said that however the process would require the Union Government to re-notify 3 Capitals plan once again.

Pro-Amaravati agitators are now demanding that Modi government should use its discretion here to interfere and not re-notify AP Capital on the plea that Amaravati was already notified in 2015 itself. The big question is whether the BJP leaders are still hoping to take advantage of the political crisis in AP. Or, will Modi-Shah realise the immediate need to save Amaravati, thereby to save AP?

Big change in Pawan, follows his alliance dharma

0

Jana Senani Pawan Kalyan is the kind of an emotional leader who talks frankly against any injustice to Andhra Pradesh. He supported Chandrababu Naidu in 2014 elections. But once TDP came to power, Pawan openly criticised its decisions and eventually cut ties with Naidu. In 2019 elections, Senani contested alone and blamed the YCP, BJP and TDP for the pitiable fate of AP people.

But these last few weeks, there has been a marked change in the very approach and strategies of Pawan Kalyan. This is not election season but Senani entered a tie-up with BJP to get Modi-Shah immediately interfere and save Amaravati farmers and AP people from CM Jagan Reddy’s oppressive police rule and 3 Capitals plan. But BJP is still not acting against Jagan. Now, the issue of zero allocations for AP in the Central budget became a sore subject. However, Pawan heaped praise on Modi without following his usual style of rushing to criticize injustice.

What more, Pawan set aside his questioning nature and is duly following the alliance dharma, saying that the YCP policies of cancellations and demolitions are the reason for lack of Central budget support but not the BJP or Modi. Obviously, just eight months of Jagan oppressive rule taught valuable practical lessons in politicking to the Power Star what five years of Naidu’s not-so-oppressive regime could not do.

Shah-TDP MPs meet triggers political speculation

0

A delegation of TDP MPs met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi. They thanked him for giving recognition to Amaravati as the Capital City of AP. The delegation consisted of MPs Galla Jayadev, K Rammohan Naidu, Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar and Thota Sitaramalakshmi. The MPs thanked the Centre for including Amaravati as AP Capital in the Political Map of India. This is the first time in recent times that Amit Shah gave formal appointment and officially met a delegation from AP. Only a few weeks ago, Shah did not give official appointment to CM Jagan Reddy who had to wait for two days in Delhi but could get just an informal chance to meet Shah at that time. YCP MP Vijayasai Reddy, once a regular at PMO and Shah office, is now unofficially banned there.

Obviously, the TDP is taking advantage of the Centre’s growing dissatisfaction against YCP. Now, the TDP MPs also gave to Shah copy of an open letter written by Naidu thanking Modi-Shah for recognition to Amaravati. The MPs also explained to the Union Home Minister on the political harassment and police excesses against opposition leaders in Andhra. Amit Shah said that he had full knowledge of what is happening to AP law and order. He told them to leave that subject to the Centre. When the TDP MPs said they would meet him again on people’s issues, Amit Shah just said that they can meet him whenever they want.

Modi-Shah watching misrule in AP, says Pawan

0

Jana Senani Pawan Kalyan made shocking comments on the Jaganmohan Reddy government. He made his remarks after a two-day tour in Amaravati Capital City. Pawan told Jagan Regime that no political party would survive if it tries to bring tears to any section of society especially farmers. He further made sensational comments saying that Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah are closely watching the misrule in Andhra Pradesh. Modi may look friendly but he will not tolerate misuse of authority in governance.

Pawan mocked at Minister Botsa Satyanarayana asking him not to create further confusion. ‘Botsa Garu Be Careful,’ Pawan said at one time referring to the Volkswagen case still pending against the Minister. Pawan said that he didn’t know whether lucky time or EVMs helped the YCP but it got massive majority winning 151 out of 170 MLA seats. It doesn’t mean the government can do whatever it likes.

Jana Senani assured of all his help to first wage local agitations along with Amaravati farmers. If the YCP still tries to shift Capital, Pawan told farmers that he would use his connections in the BJP to stop this. If needed, Pawan would personally take Amaravati issue to PM Modi and Shah.
