Dhamaka takes a good opening in the Telugu States as the film has collected a distributor share of 4.40 Cr. This ain’t the biggest opener for Ravi Teja but film has recorded very good occupancies all the areas. It’s Ravi Tejas biggest opener in Nizam with 1.85 Cr share and 3.10 Cr gross. Gross of the film in Telugu States stands at 7.20 Cr. Theatrical rights of the film in the Telugu States are valued at 20 Cr and it needs a steady run to achieve this mark.
The film has done decent business in the Rest of India markets and below par overseas. Worldwide gross of the film on the opening day stands at 8.80 Cr and distributor share at 5.10 Cr.

December packed with Interesting Films for Release

November is a dull month for films. The film season will be back from Christmas every year and it would continue till Sankranthi. This December is packed with releases and there are interesting films lined up. Tamil actor Dhanush is testing his luck in Telugu with a straight film titled Sir. The film directed by Venky Atluri is releasing on December 2nd in Telugu and Tamil. Success machine Adivi Sesh is done with HIT 2 and the film too is releasing on December 2nd. Sailesh Kolanu directed the film and Nani produced HIT 2.

There are talks that one among HIT 2 or Sir will walk out of the race to avoid the clash. Nandamuri Kalyanram’s next film directed by debutant Rajendra Reddy and the film too is hitting the screens on December 8th. An official announcement from Mythri Movie Makers is awaited. Ravi Teja’s Dhamaka is releasing on December 23rd and the film’s official announcement will be made very soon. Some other films delayed in November will release in December. Kannada film Kabzaa will also have a wide release in Telugu and the film releases in December. Upendra and Sudeep are the lead actors in the film. Some other dubbed and straight films may release in December and the month is packed with interesting releases.

Sarath Mandava directed Ramarao On Duty film and Ravi Teja essays the role of an honest government servant. A series of missing cases will get reported after which he steps out to fight to unfold the truth. Divyansha Kaushik and Rajisha Vijayan are the leading ladies and they will have limited roles tells the trailer. Ramarao On Duty also has a series of prominent actors and the film has various threads related to the story. Venu is making his comeback and he plays a cop.  Sudhakar Cherukuri is the producer and he spent lavishly on the film. Ramarao On Duty is inspired by a real-life incident that took place in 1995.

Story:
Ramarao story is set in 1995 Chittoor district. It’s a backstory of an honest sub collector who fights against the red sandalwood mafia. This film contains few factual incidents embedded into the cinematic script.

Analysis:
‘Ramarao On Duty’ title sounds like an out and out masala film but the theme is a serious one. The director tries to fill the first half with few family scenes. Ramarao gets married another girl than his original love. He also tries to find out details of 20 youth miss from the village. In this process he confronts with the local police officer Jammi Murali ( Tottempudi Venu) and his SP. All the leads point to the sandalwood mafia which has been managed by a person named Viraz. Second half deals with how Ramarao takes on the culprits.

First half of the film is more of conversational and passive. Audience might take a while to sync with the slow paced, award film approach in first half – which is unusual of Raviteja films. Investigative films succeed more if director is able to engage the audience with the core murder plot. In this case, instead of engaging audience script confuses them. The songs are shot on high budget and often on foreign locations. However, the songs doesn’t go well with the rustic rural theme of the film especially set in 1995 . At times the script gives honest impression but struggles to fit a mass star.

Raviteja has been maintaining good physique but his characterization in this film is not his eccentric league. Naresh, Pavitra Lokesh, Tanikella Bharani, Nasser, Rahul Ramakrishna and other seasoned artists are wasted. The two heroines are miscast

Verdict:

‘Ramarao on Duty’ film is a wasted effort with a reasonably good premise. Mass star Raviteja didn’t fit in Ramarao character. A forgettable film akin to recent Tollywood movies.

‘Khiladi’ has Bollywood-standard content, says producer Satyanarayana

Ravi Teja-starrer ‘Khiladi’ is all set for release on February 11. The title carries a tag that says ‘Play Smart’, hinting at the interesting story.

Producer Satyanarayana Koneru, who had interacted with the media earlier on Monday, conveyed that he has been quite confident about the movie’s success.

As the producer spoke on several matters regarding the movie, he expressed his happiness over the movie’s pan-India release.

“Although it is a regular commercial film, it is a concept-oriented narration, which makes it is a perfect Bollywood movie. We shot a few scenes in Italy which are of Hollywood standard. I think the production values will stand out,” Satyanarayana said.

“We teamed up with Pen Studios to take this story to the pan-India level. The film is being released in Telugu as well as Hindi,” Satyanarayana said.

On being quizzed about the ‘Khiladi’ Hindi release, he said, “We were skeptical about the release. As we had pending works, I wondered if the movie will even get a wrap soon. But, after I took a glimpse at the output, the content gave me much confidence to proceed with the pan-India release”.

Satyanarayana Koneru, who is excited for the movie’s release soon, expects it to be a blockbuster hit in both languages. “As far as I know, there will be no competition for the movie in Hindi either, as there is no big release sooner. This scenario will be an added advantage for ‘Khiladi’.”

Dimple Hayati and Meenakshi Chaudhary are the female leads in this upcoming commercial entertainer, which is co-produced by Bollywood production company Pen Studios and A Studios.

Rajisha Vijayan joins cast of Ravi Teja’s ‘Ramarao On Duty’

Malayalam actress Rajisha Vijayan has joined the cast of actor Ravi Teja’s upcoming film “Ramarao on Duty”. The actress took to Instagram on Monday to share the news.

“Ramarao on Duty” will be Ravi’s 68th film and is directed by Sarath Mandava. The film will have two leading ladies, and had already announced Divyasha Kaushik earlier as one of its heroines. The film will mark Rajisha’s debut in the Telugu film industry. Shooting has commenced for the project.

On Instagram, Rajisha put up a picture of the announcement poster and captioned it: “Extremely elated to announce my Telugu debut with @raviteja_2628 garu. Directed by @sarath.mandava sir.”

“Ramarao On Duty” is a thriller said to be inspired by true incidents. The film, which is produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri, will have Sam CS compose music. Besides Ravi, Rajisha and Divyasha, the film also stars Nasser, Sr Naresh, Pavitra Lokesh, Rahul Rama Krishna, Eerojullo Sree, Madhu Sudan Rao, Surekha Vani amongst others.

Ravi’s first look in the film was highly appreciated by the fans. He was seen in a police uniform standing next to a government police car. The actor will also be seen in Ramesh Verma’s “Khiladi”, which has just resumed shooting.

Ravi Teja’s Krack digital screening pushed

Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja’s recent offering Krack released for Sankranthi and is named as the winner of the season. Telugu digital platform Aha acquired the digital streaming rights of Krack for a record price and inked a deal to stream the film from January 29th on Aha. Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja has been struggling for the right success and he pinned all his hopes on Krack, a mass entertainer that is packed with action. Ravi Teja and Gopichand Malineni are teaming up for the third time after Don Seenu and Balupu. Shruti Haasan is the leading lady and Thaman composed the music. The film faced financial hurdles and the release got delayed today. Krack released with the night shows across Telugu states. Here is the complete review of Krack:

Story:

Krack is the story of Pothuraju Veera Shankar (Ravi Teja), a ruthless cop who deals three different goons in different locations. One among them is Yasin Bhatkal (Chirag Jani), a most wanted terrorist. Shankar heads for a clash with Katari Krishna (Samuthirakani) who commits several crimes in and around Ongole. Krack has nothing new to offer with the plot as it is based completely on a regular commercial Template of Telugu cinema. The film heavily banks on action and the heroism of Ravi Teja.

Gopichand Malineni who relied on the entertainment switches genre and proved that he can deliver an out and out mass entertainer. Krack is a perfect comeback for Ravi Teja and his comic timing, performance have been top-notch. The first half banks on action and elevation episodes. The film also gets some exceptional actors on board and they delivered their best. All the episodes between Ravi Teja and Samuthirakani have been top class.

Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, Ravishankar, Devi Prasad, Sudhakar and Vamsi Chaganti did their roles well. The interval episode elevates the film completely and the first half of Krack is a perfect package that will appeal to all the sections of the audience. The songs are good and they are shot well. Thaman and GK Vishnu are the heroes behind the Scene for Krack.

The second half carries the momentum of the first half and two big action episodes make the film passable though the second half of Krack sounds completely predictable. Ravi Teja completely carries the film on his shoulders. Gopichand Malineni will surprise you and he excelled with his presentation. The songs in the second half too are strictly average. The Ongole bus stand fight along with the climax stunt stands out.

Ravi Teja is back with a bang and he carried the entire film on his shoulders. His comic timing has been exceptional and the veteran actor took enough care on his styling especially during the elevation episodes. Shruti Haasan has a meaty role but she does her part well and has prominence. She lost her charm on screen and should work out on her looks. The family thread looks decent. Shruti Haasan’s fight in the second half sounds like the director took too much liberty. Samuthirakani is the other highlight of Krack. All the other actors did their parts well.

Krack offers nothing new with the script as it comes with a regular commercial template. The action episodes are exceptional and they elevate the film well. Thaman’s background score takes some of the episodes to the next level. GK Vishnu’s cinematography work stands out throughout. The second half of Krack has no scope for entertainment and it continues on a serious note. The production values are good and the songs are strictly average. The production values are decent. Gopichand Malineni does his job well with Krack.

Catch up Krack in single screens during this festival season to experience a perfect mass entertainer after a while in Tollywood.

Talented writer and director Maruthi impressed Ravi Teja with a script and the film is titled Pakka Commercial. But the project landed in trouble after Ravi Teja quoted a whopping remuneration of Rs 12 crores for the film. UV Creations and GA2 Pictures are not ready to shell out Rs 12 crores for Ravi Teja after which Gopichand was approached. But Maruthi is keen to convince Ravi Teja as he felt that Ravi Teja would be the apt choice for Pakka Commercial. Ravi Teja is not in a mood to compromise on his paycheque.

Maruthi decided to slash down his remuneration and offer the same for Ravi Teja as he felt that Ravi Teja can do justice for the lead role. Ram’s RED to clash with Ravi Teja’s Krack

Sankranthi happens to be the best season for films and Tollywood is gearing up for the release of a bunch of films for January 2021. Ravi Teja’s upcoming action-drama Krack was the first to be announced for Sankranthi and the film will release on January 14th next year. Ram’s upcoming movie RED is aimed for Sankranthi release and it completed all the censor formalities. The film too is hitting the screens on January 14th on Sankranthi.

Vijay’s Master and Rana Daggubati’s Aranya are the other films to hit the screens during the season. RED’s trailer clocked decent response and is directed by Kishore Tirumala. Sri Sravanthi Movies produced the film and Ram will be seen in a dual role in this action entertainer. Ram is pretty confident about the film and is waiting for the film to release in theatres.
