Delhi HC direct WhatsApp to suspend services of users pirating ‘Radhe’

On the basis of a suit filed by Zee, the Delhi High Court has ordered WhatsApp users to stop circulating Salman Khan’s latest film “Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai”. This comes after the distributor alleged that the film has been a victim of rampant piracy through social media platforms.

The High Court has directed WhatsApp to suspend services to numbers that are being used to sell pirated copies of the film.

The court has also directed the country’s leading telecom operators — Airtel, Jio and Vodafone — to disclose subscriber details of the offenders, with Zee to initiate further legal action against them.

The Delhi High Court order mentions: “The Plaintiff has filed the instant suit for permanent injunction, rendition of accounts and damages for the infringement of Plaintiff’s exclusive license and exploitation rights in the cinematograph film ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ (in short ‘the film’). As stated in the plaint, the Plaintiff is the exclusive licensee and holder of various exploitation rights including Theatrical Rights, Satellite Rights, On Demand Rights, etc. in and to the film, including, inter alia, the exclusive right to distribute/exhibit/release the film and/or make the film available to the public through theatrical, internet, digital and online streaming platforms/OTT platforms, Transactional Video On Demand (TVOD) etc.”

Talking about piracy, it further says: “The film was released on 13th May, 2021 on the Plaintiff’s digital entertainment streaming service ‘Zee 5′ for public viewing on a pay-per view basis. The Plaintiff received information that the film was victim to rampant piracy through social media platforms, including the messaging service ‘WhatsApp’. The Plaintiff became aware that several infringing/illegal copies of the film and also various video clips thereof have been made/created/stored and are being unlawfully copied, stored, reproduced, transmitted, circulated, shared, sold and/or being made available for illegal and unauthorised viewing, download and storage to public at large by individuals on several social media platforms, including ‘WhatsApp’.”

Will Bollywood biggies follow Radhe?

Zee Studios will calculate the final profit and loss statement after which they will choose the path and release some more projects in the coming months.

Some of the filmmakers are not convinced with the pay per view basis release considering the current situations while some of them are keen to head for a digital release with their movies. Some of them are expecting a whopping amount to close the digital deal instead of pay-per-view basis.

Considering the second wave of coronavirus, it is impossible for the Bollywood biggies to release this year in theatres. But some of them will head for digital release considering the offers. Salman Khan’s Radhe Movie Review

After a long wait for more than a year, Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan decided to go ahead and release Radhe on a pay-per-view basis on Zee Plex. Marking the occasion of Eid, Radhe released today along with a theatrical release in the major international circuits. Prabhudeva directed this action entertainer and Disha Patani is the leading lady. Salman played the role of a ruthless cop who works on a mission to eradicate the drug mafia. Here is the complete review of Radhe:

Story:

Salman Khan plays Radhe who wants the city to turn drug free. He comes to know about Rana (Randeep Hooda), the king pin of drug mafia in Mumbai who is into several murders and other cases pending on him. Radhe takes it directly on Rana and the rest of Radhe is all about how the honest cop takes on the deadliest drug supplier. Radhe is the remake of Korean crime drama ‘The Outlaws’.

Radhe is a disappointment right from the first frame. The entire film is predictable and the romantic drama is forced. Except for the stylish action stunts, Radhe stands as a huge disappointment. Even Salman Khan and his grace cannot save this pathetic attempt. The narration is flat with action episodes coming and going instead of the needed twists. The best songs are saved for the second half and the first half has no great thrilling moments for the audience.

Salman Khan nails it in style but the pale script and the poor execution makes his efforts wasted. Disha Patani is limited to glamorous presence and songs. Randeep Hooda shines in his role and his performance will be remembered. Jackie Shroff is wasted and all the other actors make no impact. The action episodes are presented well on the screen and the cinematography work is good. Two songs ‘Seetimaar’ and Radhe title number are decent on screen.

Radhe is backed by strong production values. Prabhudeva’s work and writing are the biggest disappointments of Radhe. A set of Salman Khan’s fans may love this clinched product.

Verdict:

Radhe is one of the biggest disappointments among Salman Khan’s films in the recent years. Can be strictly given a skip.

Salman Khan’s Radhe: Deal Renegotiated

0

Salman Khan’s Radhe was planned for a theatrical release in more than 1000 screens for Eid this year. Zee Studios inked a deal and acquired the entire rights of the film for a whopping Rs 230 crores last year. But with less than 100 screens functional in the country, Zee Studios negotiated and changed the deal. The film will now head for a digital release on pay per view basis and Zee Studios is confident on recovering most of the investment. The overseas markets are open and Radhe will get a decent release across the international circuits.

The makers revised the deal to Rs 190 crores from Rs 230 crores after the theatres are shut because of the pandemic. Salman Khan recently announced that the theatrical revenue would be zero for the film and he decided to stand as a support for Zee Studios if they incur losses for the film. Radhe will release on Zee Plex on May 13th and can be premiered at a cost of Rs 250 per view. Radhe is directed by Prabhudeva and Salman Khan, Disha Patani played the lead roles.

21 voluntary cuts for Salman Khan’s Radhe

1

As per the reports from Bollywood media, some of the shots are removed considering the family audience and digital release. Some of the shots of youth consuming drugs are removed from the movie. Four shots from the action episodes are removed by the makers.

Swacchh Mumbai is replaced with Swacchh Bharat and Jai Maharashtra dialogue is removed. The makers added a five-second shot at the end of the film. Seetimaar from Radhe: Fails to recreate the Magic

Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan who is fond of Telugu movies and songs picked up Seetimaar from Allu Arjun’s Duvvada Jagannadham. The peppy number was recomposed by Devi Sri Prasad and is used in his upcoming movie Radhe. The video song of Seetimaar is out today and it fails to recreate the magic. Salman Khan who tries some new dance moves in every film hardly danced in the song. Disha Patani is glamorous and she steals the show with her stunning dance moves throughout the song.

The visuals of Seetimaar look pretty ordinary and the tune too will not appeal to the Telugu audience as the Telugu version has some catchy lyrics. It would sound decent for Salman’s fans and Bollywood audience. Radhe directed by Prabhudeva will release on May 13th across the globe. Salman Khan, Sohail Kumar and Zee Studios are the producers.
