Top producer Dil Raju scored several super hits in Telugu cinema and he has several big-budget films lined up. Dil Raju produced Vijay’s Varisu and he paid Rs 110 crores for the top Tamil actor. The film opened to decent reviews in Tamil and is doing good in the circles. But the film is struggling for buzz in Telugu states. Dil Raju tried hard to convince Vijay but the actor showed no interest to promote the film in Telugu. A release press meet was arranged recently and there is no buzz around the film. The pre-release sales for Vaarasudu are quite poor in Telugu.

Dil Raju was quite aggressive during his recent interviews but this failed to generate buzz around the film. The promotions are almost zero across the Telugu states. With Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy in Sankranthi race, the audience are least bothered about Vaarasudu. Going with the trend, Vaarasudu may struggle badly across the Telugu states. Dil Raju’s strategy has gone badly wrong for Vaarasudu. The film is a family entertainer directed by Vamshi Paidipally.

From the past few days, the interviews of Dil Raju triggered space for lot of controversies. Being a wise businessman, Dil Raju overhyped himself and his unusual statements left many in deep shock. All this is because of his next production Varisu. Taking a U-Turn, Dil Raju announced that Vaarasudu will now release on January 14th. He said that he has immense respect for Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna. But his previous interviews sounded completely different and contrast. The real reasons for the postponement of Vaarasudu are different.

Dil Raju wanted a wide release for Vaarasudu. The exhibitors have been against from day one as there are films of Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna. The distributors have tried hard to convince Dil Raju but he was strict on his stand. With situations turning out of his control and after he came to know about zero advances, Dil Raju felt the threat and he decided to push the release of Vaarasudu. The strategy of Dil Raju for Vaarasudu failed badly. He is now in damage control mode after a series of bad moves.

Top producer Dil Raju is producing Varisu, a big-budget film that has Tamil Superstar Vijay in the lead role. Vamshi Paidipally is the director and the film is gearing up for January 12th 2023 release. He landed into controversies in the recent times because of his interviews and the statements. With Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya and Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy hitting the screens during the same season, Dil Raju blocking majority number of screens for Varisu created a stir. During some of his recent interviews, Dil Raju said that he will support his own film which is in the race instead of supporting Sankranthi biggies.

Dil Raju should have respected actors like Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna who represent Tollywood. His words have created a stir across the Tollywood circles. Vijay’s market is growing for every film in Telugu but Dil Raju blocked more number of screens than required speculates Tollywood. Several top technicians and even actors are surprised by the strong statements made by Dil Raju. He should have been extra cautious as he is heading to clash with the actors who come from two top families of Telugu cinema. Dil Raju also said that he is keen to work with Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna on several stages. He should have tightlipped and done his work instead of make public statements and giving unnecessary interviews when the release date is far.

Top producer Dil Raju who managed and tackled several tricky situations is now left in huge stress. He outspoke several times saying that there is no scope for dubbing films during the happening Sankranthi season every year. Now, his film Vijay’s Varisu is releasing during Sankranthi 2023. The Telugu Film Producers Council issued a statement asking the distributors and exhibitors to allocate theatres for straight films like Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy instead of dubbing films. This is a strong blow for Dil Raju but the ace producer wanted to continue his legacy and prove his hold in the distribution market across the Telugu states.

But the distributors and exhibitors are turning against his move. Most of the distributors locked the theatres for Varisu assumpting that one among Waltair Veerayya or Veera Simha Reddy would get postponed. After the move from the Telugu Film Producers Council, the exhibitors are completely against Dil Raju and Varisu. Most of them are not ready to pay advances and they are mounting pressure on the distributors to screen Waltair Veerayya or Veera Simha Reddy considering the taste of the Telugu audience. Most of them argue that Vijay’s film would be the third option before Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy.

The distributors of Dil Raju are left in stress and they are mounting pressure on the producer to postpone Varisu. Dil Raju cannot postpone Varisu but he may have to push the Telugu version or adjust with limited screens. Though he can lock more number of screens for Varisu, he may have to lose it if both Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy receive a positive response.

On the other side, Mythri Movie Makers that produced Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy are aggressive and they are keen to lock more screens for these films. Dil Raju has to be careful to save his film and at the same time he has to be extra cautious during Sankranthi. Else he would lose a relation with two Telugu top stars with whom he has been dreaming to produce films soon.
