Nagarjuna locks young composer for Manmadhudu 2

0

Akkineni Nagarjuna is prepping up for his next project which is tentatively scheduled as Manmadhudu 2. Young and talented director Rahul Ravindran is going to call shots for this romantic entertainer which is likely to kick off this Summer.

Reportedly, Nagarjuna has finalized young music sensation Chintan Bharadwaj to compose tunes for this film. Sources revealed that Nag is highly impressed with the album of RX 100 and asked Chintan to come up with his tunes. After holding discussion with the talented composer, Nag has brought him on board to work for Manmadhudu 2.

Nag felt that Chintan will give a fresh album to his film that suits the genre. So he decided to go with him instead of roping in a more experienced composer. The regular shooting of Manmadhudu 2 will roll out in Europe. Rakul Preet Singh will share screen space with Nagarjuna in this film.

Nag shelves ANR’s Biopic Plans

0

Tollywood audience witnessed a series of biopics during this season but none among the films ended up impressive. King Nagarjuna too was in plans to produce a biopic on his father Legendary Akkineni Nageswara Rao. The talks were in initial stages and Nagarjuna decided to pool out the resources for the project. But with the recent biopics ending up as debacles, Nagarjuna is said to have changed his plans.

He recently watched NTR’s biopic (NTR – Kathanayakudu) in a special screening and loved it. But he was left in shock why the audience rejected the film so badly. Hence he decided to stay away from his father’s biopic instead of taking a risk. The actor is all set to join the shoot of Manmadhudu 2 from next month. Rahul Ravindran directs the film and Rakul Preet Singh, Payal Rajput are the heroines.

Very unfortunate – Chandrababu on Nagarjuna-Jagan meet

0

YCP President Jaganmohan Reddy is a prime accused in CBI illegal assets cases and he spent time in jail for this. How can a cine hero meet Jagan who has a criminal record? asked AP CM Chandrababu Naidu. It is no wonder this remark is intended to criticise hero Nagarjuna who had met with Opposition leader in his Lotus Pond residence in Hyderabad. Their meeting sparked off rumours in political circles.

The incident became a big pain for the ruling TDP leaders as they spent anxious hours to find out what really happened at Nagarjuna-Jagan meet. This further fuelled speculation that Nagarjuna may contest from Guntur MP seat where he will confront Galla Jayadev, who is Nagarjuna’s friend. Incidentally, Jayadev is brother-in-law of hero Mahesh Babu as well. Because of this, there was really a heightened curiosity of what is really happening.

Because of such a massive hype, Chandrababu has mentioned this subject during a tele conference with TDP leaders. He just said it is very unfortunate for such a well-known film personality to meet with somebody having a criminal background. Naidu suggested that one should take precautions about their image before venturing to have such meetings with anybody.

Meeting with Jagan….! Is Nagarjuna planning to contest from Guntur?

0

Tollywood star Nagarjuna met with YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy at his Lotus Pond residence and discussed for about 30 minutes. Nagarjuna refused to speak with the media after this meeting. So, there is no clarity on the agenda of this meeting. Party sources started the rumour that Nagarjuna is planning his political debut through YSRCP and is set to contest from Guntur constituency as YSRCP candidate. There is no official response from Nagarjuna on this matter.

Nagarjuna is in friendly relation with Jagan even from the times of Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. Along with his good friend Matrix Prasad, Nagarjuna did various business investments while YS is Chief Minister. When Jagan was in Chanchalguda Jail, Nagarjuna went there to meet him. For every election in Andhra Pradesh, Nagarjuna Fans Association President Ramaraju actively participates in the campaign in support of YSRCP saying this is the wish of Nagarjuna. During Nandyal by election times and Kakinada Corporation elections, Ramaraju made a significant commotion. Sources say, “Nagarjuna knows about Ramaraju’s stunts and he approved it. Otherwise, he would have definitely commented on it.”

Up until now, Nagarjuna never showed any interest in joining politics and never responded positively when asked about his political entry. Closer circle of Nagarjuna, who knows about his lifestyle does not think Nagarjuna will enter politics.

But sources say that Jagan feels to defeat Galla Jayadev in Guntur Parliament seat, a star like Nagarjuna is quite necessary and so, Jagan is putting pressure on Nagarjuna. In general, any information on the meetings of YS Jagan is outed to the supporting media channels by Lotus Pond people. They say that if this meeting with Nagarjuna is made public, it is because Jagan feels that this news increases pressure on Nagarjuna. It is interesting to wait and see on what decision Nagarjuna will make……

Nagarjuna wants to follow Venky’s strategy

Senior star hero Victory Venkatesh made a comeback of sorts after a gap with Fun and Frustration. The comedy caper has been lapped up bigtime by all sections of audience and it emerged as a box office blockbuster. The entertaining elements proved to be the selling point for the film despite the slender storyline. Now, Akkineni Nagarjuna is looking to take cue from Venky’s strategy.

Nagarjuna is looking to dish out full length entertainers to score box office hits. He has already agreed to team up with talented directors Rahul Ravindran and Kalyan Krishna for the sequels of Manmadhudu and Soggade Chinni Nayana. Reportedly, he has asked both directors to ensure that there is a good dose of entertainment in these sequels.

Just like Venky, Nagarjuna too carries strong fan base among family audience. He feels that making entertainers is the best way to score hits at box office rather than going for experimental subjects at his current age. His peers Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna are working on commercial potboilers as they have good fan base in bases. On the other side, Venky is busy doing family entertainers. So, Nagarjuna also looking to end his low phase and make a strong comeback with out and out entertaining films.

Opinion : Nagarjuna can learn a thing or two from Bellamkonda Suresh

Akkineni Nagarjuna seems to be not taking the right decision in shaping up the careers of his two sons – Naga Chaitanya and Akhil. It is an undeniable fact that both the Akkineni youngsters got the worst possible start as heroes with their debut films turning out to be huge disasters. ‘Josh’ for Chaitu and ‘Akhil’ for Akhil are definitely not the films which can be treated as launch vehicles for star kids. This proved to be very costly mistake from Nagarjuna as both of them couldn’t create a decent market even after several attempts. Chaitu and Akhil has got the potential to emerge as star heroes. They have improved a lot of in terms of their performances since their debut films. Unfortunately, they couldn’t find the big success that could provide great stability to their careers. Chaitu managed to carve out a niche due to decent hits here and there. But, Akhil is yet to make an impact at box office. His latest film Mr. Majnu also opened to lukewarm response at box office.

Being a producer himself, Nag is unable to set the right combination and provide the much needed lift to their low lying careers. In this aspect, he can take cue from star producer Bellamkonda Suresh who has been going all out for his son Bellamkonda Srinivas. Irrespective of the box office results, Bellamkonda is ensuring that his son get to work with star directors. He is digging his pockets very deep for every film of his son and making sure that he stays in the race with current generation young heroes. On the other side, Nagarjuna is not willing to take risks as a producer for his sons. So, they are struggling to get the opportunity to work with top directors. It is high time Nagarjuna realises his mistake and take sensible decisions to boost the careers of both Akhil and Naga Chaitanya.

Nagarjuna’s line up : Manmadhudu sequel followed by Soggade.. sequel

0

Akkineni Nagarjuna seems to have finally decided to kick start his solo projects after a brief gap. It has already been reported that Nag is keen to work on the sequels to his hit films Manmadhudu and Soggade Chinni Nayana. Young directors Rahul Ravindran and Kalyan Krishna have been waiting with bound scripts to get Nag’s nod.

After hearing the final version of scripts, Nag is fully convinced and agreed to work with these two directors. The sequel to Soggade Chinni Nayana was supposed to go on floors first. But, it might be delayed as Naga Chaitanya is also playing a crucial role in this sequel and he is currently busy with other commitments. So, Nagarjuna decided to commence Manmadhudu sequel first.

It is learnt that Rahul Ravindran is taking utmost care to meet the high expectations on the sequel. He is reportedly readied a script laced with good dose of humour and emotions like the first part.

Nagarjuna’s Annapurna Studios will bankroll both these sequels.

Nag gives his nod for Bangarraju

0

Akkineni Nagarjuna hasn’t tasted success in the recent years and he is in talks with a bunch of filmmakers for his next. The actor is holding talks with Kalyan Krishna Kurasala for his next film which is said to be the sequel for Soggade Chinni Nayana. ‘Bangarraju’ is the title registered for this romantic rural drama and Nag recently gave his nod after hearing the final draft.

Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya are expected to play the lead roles in Bangarraju and the regular shoot commences later this year. Nagarjuna too choosy to sign a solo film

0

Akkineni Nagarjuna had a disappointing last two years due to back-to-back flops. His multi-starrer with Nani didn’t click at box office despite getting decent talk. He is now the only senior hero with no solo films on hand. His peers like Chiru, Balakrishna and Venkatesh are on a signing spree, but Nagarjuna is yet to finalize his next film.

Nag was supposed to work with young directors Kalyan Krishna and Rahul Ravindran for his next films. Both have already readied scripts and narrated to Nag. But, he is too choosy to give nod to these inexperienced directors. The string of flops seems to have put Nag in a dilemma and he is not willing to take risk at this point. He is currently busy with a bilingual film Brahmastra and his multi-starrer with Dhanush is temporarily put on hold due to budget issues.

There is no clarity on whether he will go with Soggade Chinni Nayana and Manmadhudu sequels or will he wait for better scripts. Whatever may be the reason, the wait for his fans might be longer to see him in a solo film.

Nagarjuna ready to take risk with inexperienced director

0

Seasoned actor Akkineni Nagarjuna has been drawing fire from his fans for his poor choice of scripts. After Soggade Chinni Nayana and Oopiri, he failed to deliver a decent film in the last couple of years. He is currently busy shooting for a couple of bilingual multi-starrer films.

Reports suggest that Nagarjuna has agreed to team up with inexperienced director Rahul Ravindran for the sequel to his popular hit Manmadhudu which released in 2002. Sources revealed that Nag has given in principle nod to the project and it may be launched in January. The film is going to be a romantic comedy that will suit Nag’s age and mannerisms. Annapurna Studios will bankroll the film.

It is a known fact that Rahul Ravindran made his directional debut with Chi La Sow earlier this year and it was presented by Nag. His sensible presentation got a thumbs up from audience and critics alike. But the question is can he recreate the magic of Manmadhudu again with Nagarjuna’s present image and current trend ? Isn’t it a risky attempt to touch a classic comedy after 15 years ? We have to wait and see.

Too many banners and no hits from Akkinenis

0

King Nagarjuna is named as a successful businessman along with being a prominent actor of Tollywood. The actor has been producing films on Annapurna Studios from the past few years and he even floated couple of banners Great India Entertainments and Manam Studios. After a series of debacles, Great India Entertainments vanished away. Manam Studios has been started recently and is co-producing several movies.

Now the latest update is that Nagarjuna is said to have floated one more new banner to produce small budget films. This is the fourth banner from Nagarjuna’s family which is sure a surprise. With very few hits from Nag as an actor and producer, Tollywood circles have been left puzzled for Nag floating one more production house.

Disappointing year for Akkineni heroes

0

Akkineni heroes Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya failed to score a decent hit this year despite having two releases each. Nagarjuna’s Officer turned out to be an embarrassing disaster and Devadas ended as a flop at box office. After hits like Soggade Chinni Nayana and Oopiri, Nagarjuna failed miserably with his script selection and disappointed fans bigtime.

On the other side, Naga Chaitanya’s wait to score a big hit continues as his latest film Savyasachi is struggling at box office. After Shailaja Reddy Alludu couldn’t perform as per trade expectations, Chaitu pinned hopes on Savyasachi to end his patchy run. But, the film received poor reviews and trade analysis point to another disappointing film at box office.

Naga Chaitanya’s wife Samantha had a promising year with back to back hits. She scored hits with Rangasthalam and Mahanati. Her performance in U Turn received good response from audience and critics alike. Akhil’s Mr Majnu was initially planned for December end release. But, the film was postponed to next year.

On the whole, it is a disappointing show from Akkineni heroes with back to back flops this year.

Nag lines up two simultaneous projects

King Nagarjuna’s career graph has been disappointing but he has a bunch of interesting films lined up. After wrapping a schedule for his Bollywood outing Brahmastra, Nag started shooting for his next bilingual directed by Dhanush. Nag made sure that the entire shoot of the film will be wrapped up by the end of this year. He is all set to start shooting for two interesting projects early next year.

Kalyan Krishna Kurasala is working on the final draft of Bangarraju after Nag suggested changes for the plot. Young actor Rahul Ravindran who made an impressive debut with Chi La Sow impressed Nag with a script which is in pre-production stage. Devadas team doing it too late

0

Nagarjuna and Nani starrer Devadas released three weeks ago. The film opened well and registered decent revenues in the first week. Though it has a routine story and narration, audience lapped up the film for its entertaining elements. As the collections dropped in the second week, team Devadas should have concentrated more on post release promotions.

Surprisingly, after completing three weeks of its release, the team started promoting the film. After the release of Aravindha Sametha, Devadas has completely slowed down in all areas. This week two more new films are hitting the screens. So Devadas will be replaced in majority of the centres. There is no point in taking up promotions when the theatrical run is all but over.

Nagarjuna and Nani should have aggressively promoted it after its release which might have impacted the collections. It is too late for Devadas.
