SS Rajamouli and his father V Vijayendra Prasad share a close bonding. Vijayendra Prasad is the writer for all Rajamouli’s films. Though Vijayendra Prasad was not successful as a director, he is extremely successful when it comes to penning scripts. Rajamouli several times revealed about his love and respect for his father. In public too, Rajamouli never forgets to respect his father. He calls him ‘Nanna garu’ or uses the word ‘Nanna garandi’. This happens even in script discussions and during heated arguments.

On the flipside, Rajamouli surprises many by calling Vijayendra Prasad’s idea rubbish at times. If he is not convinced, he bluntly rejects the idea or comes up with the perfect thought, says one of the associates who worked in the team of Vijayendra Prasad and Rajamouli. The arguments continue for hours and days, but finally, both the father and the son wins. They come up with the best script first and then everyone is aware of Rajamouli’s visual spectacles. The duo never delivered a failure to date and they are working hard every single day to deliver many more memorable films for Indian cinema.

Apart from Vijayendra Prasad, Rajamouli even works with a bunch of family members which include MM Keeravani, Sri Valli, Rama Rajamouli, Karthikeya and several others. Rajamouli as of now is focused on RRR that features NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles.

A series of meetings in Tollywood are held to discuss about the further steps, guidelines to be followed, when to resume the shoots and about the budget cuts of Telugu films. Top director SS Rajamouli surprised everyone after he got ready to start the shoot of RRR. The film is a periodic drama and it needs hundreds of crew working on the sets on a regular basis. Rajamouli is now all set to conduct a trial shoot for the next week and it would take place in Aluminium Factory, Hyderabad.

Following all the guidelines, Rajamouli will conduct a trial shoot of RRR and several filmmakers are looking forward for the feedback to take a call about the shoots of their films. The trial shoot will happen for 2-3 days. Ravi Teja’s Krack, Sai Dharam Tej’s Solo Brathuke So Better and Sharwanand’s Sreekaram are the films that are expected to start shooting in the month of June. As of now, Tollywood is now focused on the trial shoot of RRR.

All the Tollywood bigwigs met at Megastar Chiranjeevi’s residence to discuss about the new guidelines to be taken post coronavirus lockdown. Telangana cinematography minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav was present to collect the opinions about resuming the shoots and when to reopen the theatres. Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, SS Rajamouli, Koratala Siva, Trivikram Srinivas, VV Vinayak, Allu Aravind, Dil Raju, C Kalyan, S Radha Krishna, UV Vamshi and others were present at the meeting.

Top director SS Rajamouli had a request for resuming the shoot so that he could work with a team of limited crew members along with following all the social distancing and other guidelines on the sets. He reminded that not all the episodes for film shoots need a number of cast, crew members. He got support from several filmmakers who wished to resume the shoots of Telugu films at the earliest. Several filmmakers discussed and suggested about the new guidelines to be followed. Talasani Srinivas Yadav promised to take all the issues to Telangana Chief Minister KCR and come out with the new guidelines.

The country’s top director SS Rajamouli’s take on Oscar-winning film Parasite triggered several controversies. Rajamouli said that he felt extremely bored while watching the film and he even fell asleep. This did not go well with many and some of them trolled SS Rajamouli. Responding to this, Rajamouli said that it happens to be his personal opinion.

“Me not liking Parasite is my personal opinion. There would be so much lobbying even for Oscar winners among the jury members. There would be a process for the jury members to watch a film. The whole world believes that the jury follows certain policies and standards before they finalize the award. I even did not like several Oscar-winning films in the past” said Rajamouli during his recent interview.

There is an opinion that award-winning films are quite boring and they do not appeal to wider sections of the audience. Oscar is not an exception for these. We have to wait to see if Rajamouli’s take on Oscar films triggers new controversies.

SS Rajamouli frequently directed big-budget films that are larger than life. Perhaps, Rajamouli is the only director who was never spotted tensed before the release of his films. In one of the past interviews, when asked how he could be so relaxed before a film’s release, Rajamouli admitted that he is a good actor. “Everyone would be tensed before a film’s release. I just act to be simple but I am tensed inside. Like every filmmaker, I wait for the release to see if the film ends up impressing the audience” said Rajamouli.

Rajamouli is the only filmmaker from South on whom Bollywood is ready for any amount of bet. His films are getting a comfortable and big release in all the Indian languages. His next film RRR is currently under shoot and is made on a budget of Rs 400 crores. The film features NTR, Ram Charan in the lead roles and is aimed for January 8th, 2021 release. The film has the potential to make a business of over Rs 800 crores before its release.

SS Rajamouli is quite busy with the shoot of RRR and an unexpected break came through the coronavirus outbreak. He is just sitting at home during this lockdown. Rajamouli said that he spent ample time working from home with his team to lock the motion poster and ‘Bheem for Ramaraju’ video bytes from the past one week. Rajamouli said that he decided to release them during this tough time to divert the audience and give them a sort of relief.

“The whole world came to a halt. This is once in a lifetime opportunity to everyone. I am just sitting at home doing nothing. Everyone is spending time lazily staying before their television sets for hours. This never happened in recent times in everyone’s busy life. As of now, we are on hold and will start the shoot of RRR once things turn normal” said Rajamouli.
