Top producer and distributor Dil Raju has been facing the heat from some of the producers regarding the theatrical rights for Nizam. There are speculations going on that Raju took hold and is dominating the distribution sector in Nizam. There are also speculations that top production house Mythri Movie Makers is floating their own distribution house in the territory for a better transparency and their first project would be Uppena.

But Dil Raju is committed to the project in advance. To keep a check for this, Dil Raju flew to Dubai and he met Naveen Yerneni to discuss about the issue. Mythri made it clear that Uppena will release through Dil Raju for Nizam region. Dil Raju also discussed about the recent offer from Warangal Srinu with Mythri Movie Makers. He ensured a record business for all the upcoming biggies that are produced by Mythri.

As of now, the production house has no plans of venturing into distribution and they promised Dil Raju to continue their business with him. Mythri Movie Makers has films lined up with Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun and other top actors.

Amazon’s quote for the digital rights was quite low and the makers of Uppena decided to wait for the film’s release.

Going with the update, Netflix acquired the digital rights of all the languages of Uppena for a record price. The film is high on expectations and the songs received exceptional response. Sukumar watched the film recently and he is super confident about the output.

The film will have a tragic ending which is worrying the producers. Telugu audience are not habitual of anti-climaxes though the Tamil audience encourages such attempts. Sukumar showed the film to some of his close industry friends and collected the feedback. Some of them felt that the climax should be changed. Sukumar and Buchi Babu are against this and they are quite confident that the climax would appeal to the audience. Versatile actor Vijay Sethupathi played the role of the lead antagonist in Uppena, a rustic and village-based romantic drama. Buchi Babu, a protege of Sukumar is making his directorial debut and Vaisshnav Tej, Krithi Shetty are the lead actors. Buchi Babu first got his nod from Sukumar and the duo decided to cast Vijay Sethupathi right after the script work was done. After Vaisshnav Tej came on to the board, Chiranjeevi heard the script and he managed to get the appointment of Vijay Sethupathi when he was in Hyderabad for the shoot. It took six months completely to meet Vijay Sethupathi and narrate him the script.

“Vijay Sethupathi gave an hour time and we met him in Park Hyatt. Right after 15 minutes, he heard the script, he raised few doubts. He took a small smoking break and ordered biryani for us. The discussion went on and crossed the time given. He was extremely impressed and said that he was doing the project. He allocated the bulk dates and the film was completed in time. Vijay Sethupathi said that Uppena is a better script than 96 and it will be spoken across the country after the film’s release” said Buchi Babu.

Uppena is produced by Mythri Movie Makers. Devi Sri Prasad composed the music. The movie completed all the formalities and will release soon.
