YSRCP MLA resorting to committing sins at pilgrim town of Srikalahasti, says Lokesh

0

All the pilgrims pray Lord Sri Kalahasteeswara that all their sins are removed and that they be permitted to take the right path but YSRCP MLA, Biyyapu Madhusudhan Reddy, with all his authoritarianism, is resorting to committing various kinds of sins in the precincts of the great Srikalahasthi, observed TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Tuesday.

In a press note released here, Lokesh said that the MLA is behaving sinfully towards the very God and the Goddess. The MLA is demolishing the rooms on the precincts of the ancient temple where the sacred prasadams are made for the Lord and the Goddess and the holy place where divine Mruthunjaya poojas are performed, he said.

Lokesh strongly condemned the attempts to undertake the excavations on the precincts of the holy temple by completely ignoring the archaeological and the endowments guidelines. “It amounts to not only violation of the norms to damage the renowned and historic assets but also is an immoral act,” Lokesh said and demanded an immediate action against those responsible for such offensive excavations.

Jumping started from the ruling YSR Congress!

0

All is not well with the ruling YSR Congress Party in Andhra Pradesh. The party leaders have started leaving the party as the 2024 general election is fast approaching.

It was Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy who quit the party a couple of weeks ago. He is likely to join the Congress and contest on Congress ticket in the coming elections. Another MLA Anna Rambabu from Giddalur said that he would not contest the next election.

A sitting MLC from the ruling party, Vamsi Krishna Yadav had submitted his resignation and joined the Jana Sena. He has the MLC position for next four years but still he quit the party in protest.

There were four legislators who expressed their displeasure over the party leadership and aligned with the opposition TDP. Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy and Undavalli Sridevi have distanced from the party and aligned with the TDP. Though the party suspended them for their anti-party activities, they preferred to be associated with the TDP much before.

There are now more than a dozen MLAs who are looking at the opposition parties. While some are looking at the TDP, others are looking at the Jana Sena for rehabilitation. The number might go up once the election work begins. There are also at least a half-a-dozen MLAs who are looking at the Congress and the number might go up if Y S Sharmila joins the Congress.

As Jagan Mohan Reddy began shifting the MLAs from one Assembly constituency to the other, there was resentment and unrest among the majority MLAs. They are worried about their position in the coming elections.

A good number of the MLAs are not happy with the way Jagna Mohan Reddy is handling the party affairs. They feel that Jagan Mohan Reddy had made them insignificant in the eyes of the people as their involvement was removed in every activity in the last five years. Now, holding them responsible for the popularity is a mistake of Jagan Mohan Reddy, they feel.

Many of the MLAs are not ready to be held responsible for the fading out of their image as they were nowhere involved in any of the government programmes in the last five years. It is to be seen how many of the sitting MLAs and MPs would stay with Jagan Mohan Reddy once the bell rings for the 2024 general election.

Jagan shifts one more minister to a new segment

0

Chief Minister and ruling YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had shifted yet another minister from his cabinet to a new constituency for the coming elections. He shifted Minister Usha Sricharan from Kalyanadurgam constituency to Penugonda constituency.

Sitting MLA from Penugonda and former minister M Shankara Narayan is likely to be dropped from the contest in the 2024 general election.

The chief minister held a meeting with Minister Usha Sricharan the other day and told her to move to Penugonda. She had announced that she would be contesting from Penugonda in the coming elections. She thanked the voters of Kalyanandurgam for supporting her in the last election. She said that every candidate would win the election only based on the performance of Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Usha Sricharan is the fourth minister in the Jagan Mohan Reddy cabinet to be shifted from one constituency to the other. Earlier, the chief minister had shifted ministers Audimulapu Suresh, Vidudala Rajani and Meruga Nagarjuna from their original constituencies to the new constituencies. While Suresh was sent to Kondepi from Yerragondapalem, Rajani was shifted to Guntur West from Chilakaluripet and Nagarjuna from Vemuru to Santhanuthalapadu. Another former minister Mekathoti Sucharita was shifted from Prathipadu to Tadikonda in Guntur district.

The other day, the chief minister had also called minister Seediri Appala Raju, who is also likely to be shifted to the new constituency. Sources say that the chief minister is planning to shift at least 60 MLAs from one constituency to the other and drop at least 20 MLAs from contesting this time.

The chief minister had so far shifted 11 MLAs and dropped five MLAs from the 2024 race. The chief minister is likely to take a call on another 25 sitting MLAs, either shifting them or dropping them from the contest.

Several sitting MLAs of YSRCP quit the party soon!

0

There is a threat that several sitting MLAs from the ruling YSR Congress are likely to quit the party soon, due to fear of not getting a ticket to contest again. Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had shifted 11 candidates including two ministers and one former minister to new constituencies. He is also said to be planning to shift another 30 MLAs to the new constituencies.

Sources say that Jagan Mohan Reddy is planning to drop at least 40 MLAs from the contest in the 2024 general election. While some MLAs would be shifted to other constituencies, some of them would be nominated to the Parliament constituencies. Some MPs are also likely to be nominated to the Assembly constituencies.

With this confusion in the party, and several MLAs not being sure of getting the party ticket to contest again, a good number of them are planning to quit the party soon. They are looking at the TDP and Jana Sena parties, besides the Congress.

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu had said that over 40 MLAs are in touch with the party. This would mean that 40 MLAs have already contacted the TDP and started enquiring whether they would get the ticket if they left the YSR Congress.

Jana Sena also has enquiries by the YSR Congress MLAs who are in desperate mood about getting a ticket for the next election. The uncertainty is keeping them knocking at every door. Quite interestingly, there are a handful of MLAs who went in touch with the APCC president Gidugu Rudra Raju.

The YSR Congress is in utter chaos with Jagan Mohan Reddy taking up the task of shifting the MLAs from one place to the other. Those who were already shifted too are said to be not happy with the changes.

It is to be seen how Jagan Mohan Reddy would handle the situation as the MLAs start leaving the party and joining the other parties.

YSRCP MLAs spending sleepless nights

0

The ruling YSR Congress MLAs are spending sleepless nights these days with chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy taking the decision to shuffle the sitting MLAs. The chief minister had already changed the candidates for the 11 seats in the state, including two ministers and one former minister.

In the last two days, Jagan Mohan Reddy set his focus on the two undivided Godavari districts, where he called some MLAs to his camp office and held talks with them. He had suggested some MLAs move to the neighbouring constituency, while others thought of contesting for the Lok Sabha in the coming elections.

In the undivided East Godavari district, MLAs representing Ramachandrapuram, P Gannavaram, Amalapuram, Razole, Prathipadu, Jaggampet and Pithapuram constituencies were proposed to be shifted or dropped. The chief minister had asked Razole MLA Rapaka Varaprasada Rao to contest for the Amalapuram Lok Sabha constituency. However, Varaprasada Rao did not show interest to contest the Parliament elections.

The chief minister had also dropped Chintalapudi and Polavaram MLAs and had told them to wait for the election results. He also told them that he would take care of them after the government is formed. He also told Minister Chelluboyina Srinivasa Venugopala Krishna to shift to Rajamahendravaram rural, for which the minister did not give his consent.

Sources say that the chief minister is also planning to shift Narasapuram MLA and government chief whip M Prasada Raju from the constituency. He was also tipped for the Narasapuram Lok Sabha constituency. Minister P Viswaroop also met the chief minister. It is not known whether the chief minister would shift Viswaroop to another constituency or give the ticket to his son.

MLAs Kondeti Chitti Babu from P Gannavaram and T Nagi Reddy from Gajuwaka also met the chief minister. A new incharge was already appointed for Gajuwaka, keeping the MLA aside.

Ministers Usha Sri Charan and G Jayaram, former minister Sankaranarayana, MLAs, Kilaru Rosaiah from Ponnuru, Dulam Nageswara Rao from Kaikaluru, S Raghurami Reddy from Mydukuru, Mohmmad Navaz Basha from Madanapalle also visited the chief minister’s camp office on Tuesday and held discussions with the chief minister.

YSRCP MLAs join TDP in the presence of Naidu

0

The ruling YSR Congress MLAs Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy and Undavalli Sridevi joined the opposition TDP in the presence of party chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday. The two MLAs went to the TDP office at Mangalagiri and joined the party.

Former MLC and weavers community leader Budati Radhakrishnaiah also joined the TDP in the presence of Chandrababu Naidu. The TDP chief welcomed them to the party and asked them to work for the party’s victory in the coming elections.

The two MLAs were among those who were suspended from the party by the ruling YSR Congress during the MLC elections. It was alleged that the four MLAs have cross voted resulting in the victory of TDP MLC nominee Panchumarti Anuradha in the MLC elections. Anuradha won the election with 23 votes in the first round.

The YSR Congress suspended Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy, Undavalli Sridevi, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy at that time. Since then, the four MLAs have been working with the TDP.

Speaking on the occasion, Chandrababu Naidu said that the TDP is heading for a big victory in the 2024 general election. He said that people are vexed with the misrule of Jagan Mohan Reddy. People were now repenting to have voted Jagan Mohan Reddy, he said. He alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy started his governance with demolition of Praja Vedika and the destruction continued even in the fifth year.

Chandrababu Naidu appealed to the people to vote against the YSR Congress in the coming general elections. He wanted the people to restore democracy in the state. He also wanted the people to ensure that the development of the state is put on track.

Chandrababu Naidu said that the state which was bifurcated in 2014 had gone back to several decades with the misrule of Jagan Mohan Reddy. He wanted the people to bring the TDP back to power if they wanted the state to be developed on par with the neighbouring states.

150 leaders quit YSR Congress in Repalle

0

The change of guard in Repalle in the ruling YSR Congress had changed the political situation. Several leaders are leaving the party in protest against the appointment of Dr Epuri Ganesh as incharge of the Repalle constituency.

Supporters of former minister and Rajya Sabha member Mopidevi Venkata Ramana expressed anger at the appointment of Dr Ganesh. They said that Venkata Ramana had been working for the party and it was unjust to remove him and appoint a new leader.

They said that they would not work for the party in the coming elections and were not ready to work under the leadership of Dr Ganesh. They asked the party leadership to reconsider the decision to appoint Dr Ganesh as incharge of the Assembly constituency.

Venkata Ramana’s supporters from Repalle, Cherukupalli, Nizampatnam and other mandals attended the meeting at the party office in Repalle. They found fault with the party leadership for dropping Venkata Ramana and bringing Dr Ganesh to the forefront.

They asked the party leadership to appoint Venkata Ramana as the constituency incharge and ensure that Ramana is given the party ticket in the coming elections.

Similar protests are coming up from several Assembly constituencies in the state. Leaders are holding protests against the charges. They are opposing the appointment of new leaders as the constituency incharges.

The party had changed the incharges at 11 Assembly constituencies on Monday. Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy had quit both the Assembly and the party members. A BC leader Ganji Chiranjeevi was appointed as the party inchrage for Mangalagiri.

Even in Gazuwaka too, the party had dropped Devan Reddy as the constituency incharge and appointed Varikuti Ramachandra Rao. MLA Nagi Reddy and his son Devan Reddy met the party coordinator Y V Subba Reddy on Tuesday. They protested against the removal of Devan Reddy from the post of the constituency inchrage.

Telugu Yuvatha constructs cemetery for job calender

0

In a bold and unprecedented move, Naga Sravan Kilaru, State General Secretary of Telugu Yuvatha, has accused Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of manipulating promised job calendars, burying the hopes of the state’s unemployed youth. Kilaru contends that the Chief Minister’s failure to deliver on promised jobs, particularly Mega DSC, Police Constable jobs and 2.35 Lakh Government Jobs.

As an act of protest against the perceived betrayal and the government’s failure to address unemployment, Naga Sravan has called for December 21st as “Andhra Pradesh Unemployment Day.” This date holds significance as it coincides with CM Jagan Mohan Reddy’s birthday.

During a protest held at the Vijayawada graveyard, Naga Sravan expressed disappointment that the Chief Minister did not fulfill his commitment to bring about a jobs revolution and release an annual job calendar. The promised jobs, as per Naga Sravan, have not materialized, leaving the youth disheartened.

Naga Sravan accused the Chief Minister of deceiving unemployed youth for over four and a half years, citing unfulfilled promises, including the organization of a Mega DSC after assuming power. He highlighted a disturbing statistic: approximately 8,000 people in the state took their lives last year, with 364 directly linked to job loss or unemployment—an average of nearly one person per day.

In response to these perceived injustices, Naga Sravan Kilaru announced the observance of “Andhra Pradesh Unemployment Day” on December 21st. Over the next ten days, efforts will be made to inform students in colleges and unemployed individuals about the alleged fraudulent actions of the Chief Minister. The climax of these awareness efforts will be marked by statewide protests on December 21st, aiming to draw attention to the urgent issue of unemployment in the state.

The Telugu Yuvatha urges citizens, students, and the unemployed to join them in solidarity on “Andhra Pradesh Unemployment Day” to collectively voice their concerns and demand action on this critical issue.

Ramakrishna Reddy feels betrayed by YSRCP leadership

0

Mangalagiri MLA from the ruling YSR Congress, Alla Ramakrishna Reddy feels that the party leadership had betrayed him in the last five years. He was promised to be made a cabinet minister during the 2019 election campaign.

Party chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had told the Mangalagiri voters that he would make Ramakrishna Reddy a cabinet minister if they voted for him. He sought votes for Ramakrishna Reddy as cabinet minister. However, after the elections, Ramakrishna Reddy’s name was not considered while forming the cabinet. He was not even considered when the cabinet was reshuffled in 2023.

Ramakrishna Reddy had been very loyal to the YSR family. He was one of the close associates of late Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. After his death and with Jagan Mohan Reddy forming the YSR Congress party, Ramakrishna Reddy moved to the party and became loyal to Jagan Mohan Reddy.

He was elected to the State Assembly twice – 2014 and 2019. He defeated TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh at Mangalagiri in the 2019 general election. He also filed several cases against the TDP government and party chief N Chandrababu Naidu.

None of these acts of Ramakrishna Reddy convinced Jagan Mohan Reddy to take him into the cabinet or consider him for the 2024 general election. The party had named former TDP leader Ganji Chiranjeevi as the constituency incharge.

Chiranjeevi is likely to be the candidate from Mangalagiri in the 2024 general election. The party wants to field a BC leader against Lokesh and see that the BC leader wins the election. The party is also planning to have more BC candidates for the 2024 general election, to win the BC votes.

Now Ramakrishna Reddy had resigned from the party also. Though he had not made up his mind yet on his future course of action, he is likely to move to the Congress and contest as Congress candidate in the coming election.

It is to be seen what he would do as the days get unfolded and elections fast approaching.

Former MLA Kamala issues a threat to YSRCP

0

Hours after Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy quit the party and the Assembly seat, former MLA Kandru Kamala said that she is in the race for the party ticket. She said she would consider what the party would decide.

“I will make a decision based on the party’s move on giving tickets to anyone. I strongly oppose the new entrants being entertained with the party ticket,” Kandru Kamala told the media persons. She said that she is in the race for the ticket and would not accept new entrants given the party ticket in the coming elections.

She felt that resignation was the personal decision of Ramakrishna. She felt that Ramakrishna Reddy must have sat with Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and resolved the issues. “The MLA is very close to the chief minister. He should not have resigned,” the former MLA said.

Kamala said that the MLA had kept her away from the party activities in the constituency. She also alleged that the MLA never invited her to the party programmes in the constituency in the last four-and-a-half years.

“My role is there in his election in 2019. He did not win the seat on his own. I did my part of the work. My supporters have also voted for him,” Kamala said. She said that she had a considerable number of supporters in the constituency who have been loyal to her. She also claimed that it was not possible for anyone to win the seat without her support.

This would mean that the dissent voices are rising now with the resignation of MLA Ramakrishna Reddy and Gajuwaka Assembly constituency incharge Devan Reddy. This farmer MLA’s threat is also a clear warning to the ruling YSR Congress. It is to be seen how the party leadership would handle these dissent voices as elections are fast approaching.

Big jolt for ruling YSR Congress as MLA quits

0

The ruling YSR Congress received a big jolt on Monday with two senior leaders of the party giving resignation letters. While one is the sitting MLA, the other is the Assembly constituency incharge.

Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy had submitted his resignation in the Assembly speaker’s office in Velagapudi. He also sent his resignation to the party as its primary member.

Ramakrishna Reddy had been very close to chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. It was said that he would be the minister when Jagan formed his first cabinet after the 2019 general elections. Even in the 2022 reshuffle also, his name did some rounds as the probable candidate to be taken into the cabinet. However, he missed the bus twice which itself was a big surprise to his supporters and those in the political circles.

One wonders what made Ramakrishna Reddy to give resignation to the Assembly seat and the party membership. However, Speaker Thammineni Sitaram told media persons that he would speak to the MLA and get to know what made him resign. He said mere submission of resignation letters is not enough to be accepted.

In Visakhapatnam, Tippala Devan Reddy also quit the party on Monday. He sent his resignation letter to the party office in Tadepalli. Devan Reddy did not cite any reason for his resignation.

Meanwhile, the party had appointed Minister for Industries Gudivada Amarnath as the incharge of the Gajuwaka Assembly constituency. The party also appointed Ganji Chiranjeevi, a BC leader, as the incharge of Mangalagiri Assembly constituency.

Sources say that there are about 50 other MLAs who would also be giving their resignations soon for both the Assembly and the party as well. Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy had already told these MLAs that he would not give them tickets in the coming 2024 general elections to the State Assembly.

YSRCP leaders from Kakinada join TDP in Lokesh’s presence

0

Several YSRCP leaders, including some Mandal Praja Parishad (MPPs) presidents, joined the TDP in the presence of TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Tuesday.

At the Peluru campsite, the MPP from Yeleswaram, Gollapalli Narasimha Murthy, and the Rowthulapudi MPP, Gantimalla Rajya Lakshmi, the MPTC from Bhadravaram, Koppula Babji, the sarpanch of Turpu Lakshmipuram, Veera Reddy, along with several others joined the TDP in the presence of Lokesh. The TDP national general secretary asked them to see to it that the party will emerge victorious in the coming elections.

All those who joined the TDP expressed confidence that the party will certainly come to power in the next elections. Party senior leader, Jyothula Nehru, and local TDP leaders were present.

Later, during his Yuva Galam pada yatra aqua farmers from Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district met Lokesh at the Kshatriya Kalyana Mandapam and in a memorandum submitted to him said that they are not getting MSP for the aqua products. Lokesh promised to come to the rescue of the aqua farmers once the TDP is back in power. He said that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, totally destroyed the aqua farming in the State by withdrawing several subsidies that were available to them during the TDP regime.

As the pada yatra entered Amalapuram, the locals gave a rousing reception to Lokesh while the local women complained to him about the skyrocketing prices of essentials and the highest power charges in the State due to which their lives were turning horrible. Lokesh promised them to bring down the prices immediately after the TDP is back in power.

At the Clock-Tower centre handloom workers submitted a memorandum to Lokesh in which they said that the 30 per cent rebate on the sale of handloom clothes that was available during the TDP regime is withdrawn now. Expressing concern that the YSRP Government has completely destabilised the handloom sector, Lokesh said that once the TDP forms the coming government all the subsidies and the rebates will be revived.

At Mummidivaram Gate various differently abled union representatives met Lokesh and made an appeal to him to increase the monthly pension for the physically challenged from Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 for which Lokesh agreed. They also wanted the Physically Challenged Act-2016 be implemented and houses for them. Lokesh regretted that the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government is ignoring the differently abled persons too and promised to extend all possible help once the TDP is into power again.

The Setti Balija representatives, in a memorandum to Lokesh said that the welfare corporation set up during the TDP rule for their community is now not functioning as the current Government stopped allocation of funds for it. Lokesh assured them that funds will be allocated to the corporation as per their population ratio once the TDP forms the next government.

YSRCP has no right to conduct bus yatra in AP, says Purandheswari

0

BJP AP unit president Daggubati Purandheswari on Monday said that the ruling YSR Congress has no right to conduct bus yatra for social justice in the state. Speaking at the party state unit meeting at Ongole, Purandheswari said that the YSR Congress government had betrayed the people of weaker sections and neglected sections in the last four and a half years.

She alleged that the YSR Congress had ignored the welfare of the BCs, SCs, STs and Minorities in the last four and a half years. She also said that the government had withdrawn over 27 welfare schemes aimed at the overall development of these neglected sections.

She said that the government was filing cases against those whoever criticised the government. The government was targeting the leaders of the opposition parties in the state and victimising them, she said.

The atrocities against the SCs and BCs have increased in the last four and a half years, she said and added that the ruling party leaders were giving home delivery of dead bodies. Men and women of these neglected sections have become the target of the ruling party leaders in several parts of the state, she said.

The BJP leader further said that the ruling YSR Congress leaders were grabbing the lands and house sites of the SCs, STs and BCs in the state. The land grabbing had become the synonym of the ruling party leaders, she alleged.

Purandheswari said that the ruling party leaders were threatening the SCs, STs, BCs and Minorities in the state and were planning to impersonate their votes in the coming elections. The leaders were going to the people of these sections and were threatening them with dire consequences if they voted against the party.

People of these sections were living under fear in the YSR Congress rule, Purandheswari said. She appealed to the people of these neglected sections to support the BJP in the coming elections. She said that the BJP would give them support from the atrocities committed by the YSR Congress leaders.

Can Jagan publish white paper on funds spent for irrigation in 4 years, asks Devineni Uma

0

Former minister and senior TDP leader, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, on Wednesday ridiculed the opening of the Varikepudisela irrigation scheme in Palnadu district by Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, earlier in the day.

TDP suppremo, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, during his tenure as the chief minister of the State has granted administrative sanction for the scheme, called for tenders and even appointed an agency to take up the project works, Umamaheswara Rao told media persons at the TDP headquarters here. It took 53 months for Jagan to get the clearance for 15 hectares of land and complete the project, the former minister said and felt that the Chief Minister is now deceiving the people as elections for the State Assembly are just three months away.

Devineni Uma presented a video before the media persons in which Jagan Mohan Reddy made certain remarks in 2019 while laying the foundation for the Kadapa Steel Plant. Jagan said at that time that “if coconut is broken six months before the elections it is called cheating while the same coconut is broken within six months of coming to power that is called commitment and this is the difference in administration.”

Now, Jagan should answer as to why he is breaking the coconut just three months before the elections, he asked. The Chief Minister, who has said that breaking a coconut when the term of the Government is coming to an end is nothing but cheating, should realise the fact that the script of the Almighty is hitting him back, Devineni Uma remarked.

Jagan is getting himself exposed by claiming that he has commitment, he added. As Chandrababu called for the tenders to complete the Vadikapudisela project, Jagan with mere political vendetta cancelled the tenders, he said and asked is this the commitment of Jagan.

Since the term of the current Government and Jagan are out in three months, he should clarify how he will complete the project in six months, Uma asked. As the State Government failed to pay Rs 3.5 cr for the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the drought relief schemes in Palnadu district, the agency stopped the works, he stated.

While Chandrababu during his tenure as the chief minister appointed the agency with an estimated cost of Rs 298 cr, now Jagan as if he has achieved something got the permission for Rs 308 cr, Devineni Uma said. Had Jagan allowed the same agency which Chandrababu has appointed, the project works would have been completed within two-and-half years and the Palnadu district would have got the irrigation water, he felt.

Observing that 440 mandals in the State are reeling under severe drought, Jagan is enjoying in the Tadepalle palace and is deriving vicious pleasure by ordering for registering false cases, Umamaheswara Rao said. “I am ready to present the details of the statistics for Rs 68,000 cr spent by Chandrababu for the irrigation sector,” he said and asked whether Jagan is ready to come out with the details on Rs 32,000 cr that he has been claiming to have spent on the irrigation sector in the past four-and-half years.

Also, Devineni Uma dared Jagan and Chief Secretary, Jawahar Reddy, to publish a white paper with all the details on lakhs of crore that he has been claiming to have released into the accounts of the people through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme. The TDP senior leader strongly believes that if all the facts on the DBT scheme come to light Minister for Finance, Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, and the officials of the Finance Department will certainly go to jail.

YSRCP goes to polls with money looted through sand scam, says Nakka Ananadababu

0

Observing that liquor and sand have turned out to be the major source of income for the State, former minister and senior TDP leader, Nakka Anandababu said on Monday that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is considering liquor and sand as both of his eyes.

“Cash is to be sent to Tadepalle palace either in the shape of liquor or sand,” Anandababu told media persons at the TDP headquarters here. Stating that Rs 50,000 scam in sand mining alone in the State, he felt that the State Government has had no policy on sand mining for one whole year through which the Chief Minister, his Cabinet colleagues and the ruling party MLAs besides some officials have encashed it.

This has resulted in total collapse of the construction industry following which 45 lakh construction workers lost employment. After one year of coming to power, a policy on sand mining has been formulated but it is handed over to a binami company called JC Ventures through which the ruling party leaders looted the State, Anandababu noted.

Unable to bear this havoc, JC Ventures brought in another company called Turn Key, which also opted out of the contract after one year. The State Government, those who are at the helm in the administration, Mining Director, Venkat Reddy, and the staff members of Jagan’s palace have almost robbed the State by appointing some agents, he said.

Former chief minister and TDP supremo, Nara Chandrabbau Naidu, has already thoroughly exposed how the ruling party leaders minted Rs 40,000 cr through sand mafia, Anandababu said and pointed out that the TDP has also taken up some agitational programmes against the illegal sand mining. The contract entered into with the JC Ventures ended on May 12 and the National Green Tribunal (NGT) too has passed orders in March that the sand mining be stopped immediately and cancelled the permissions, he added.

The State-level Environment Impact Assessment Authority also has cancelled the permissions granted for sand mining, the former minister said and pointed out that the State Government did not honour even the NGT orders. “While cases have been registered against the Leader of the Opposition for a policy decision taken nine years ago but there is no reply when we have thoroughly exposed a scam in which Rs 50,000 cr is looted,” Anandababu said and felt that cases have been foisted against Chandrababu only to divert the public attention from the major issues.

The TDP senior leader dared Mining Director, Venkat Reddy, to explain to the people the details of the sand policy. Venkat Reddy is operating from his residence to loot money through sand mining. Since the Mining Director is aware that once the TDP is back in power serious action will be initiated against him and thus false cases have been foisted against Chandrababu, he felt.

Advising the district collectors to be cautious as they have to be partners as the way bills are to be issued for transport of sand from their offices, Anandababu said that the way bills are being issued offline instead of online. How can they claim that the NGT orders are confined only for Chittoor district alone, he asked.

Leaving the real culprits cases being registered against Chandrababu, he said and pointed out that cases have also been booked against another TDP leader, Peethala Sujatha, earlier. People are ready to chase Jagan out of the State and the day is not too far, Anandababu maintained.

Fear of defeat leads YSRCP leaders to attack on TDP leaders, says Lokesh

TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh on Friday alleged that the ruling YSR Congress leaders were now feared of their defeat in the coming general elections. He said out of fear, the YSR Congress leaders were physically attacking the opposition TDP leaders.

He cited the example of YSR Congress leader Kotala Chandrasekhar Reddy of Bhimavaram village of Chandragiri mandal in Chittoor district. He said that the YSR Congress leader attacked TDP village unit president Munirathnam.

Lokesh said that Munirathnam’s condition is very serious now. He wished that Munirathnam would survive the injuries and recover soon. He promised to support him and his family in the hour of crisis.

Lokesh said that there was no law and order in the state under the YSR Congress rule. The police too were helping the ruling party leaders, he alleged. He appealed to the rank and file of the TDP to face the situation and fight back against the YSR Congress party’s violence.

TDP AP unit president K Atchennaidu also condemned the attack on Munirathnam. He expressed confidence that Munirathnam would recover soon and become active in the party programmes.

He said that the YSR Congress president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was travelling in special flights and helicopters in the air, while leaving law and order to its fate. He asked the chief minister to focus on improving law and order. He said that the TDP, when in power, did not target the opposition leaders.

Atchennaidu wanted the Chittoor district police to book criminal cases against Chandrasekhar Reddy who attacked and injured Munirathnam. He wanted the DGP also to take special interest in the case and ensure that Chandrasekhar Reddy is arrested and sent to jail.

CM, Govt have no basic knowledge on drought, says Dhulipala

0

It is really unfortunate that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, and his Government do not have even basic knowledge on the prevailing drought situation in the State and the plight of the farmers, said former MLA and senior TDP leader, Dhulipala Narendra, on Thursday.

Though the farmers did not cultivate lakhs of acres in the State this year there is absolutely no response from the State Government, Narendra told media persons here. Pointing out that the TDP government had taken come for the rescue of the farmers several times whenever there was drought conditions in the State, Narendra said this Government has totally neglected the farming sector. “In fact, the farming sector is almost dead in the State,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister has no basic knowledge with regard to farming and how to act towards the farmers while the Minister for Agriculture is totally scared of coming out with facts with regard to his portfolio, he said. While severe drought conditions are prevailing in 470 mandals, the Government has simply announced 103 mandals and washed off its hands, he felt.

Also, except declaring the drought-hit mandals through GO-4, no steps have been taken to release funds to overcome the situation nor to save the farming community, Narendra maintained. Though several villages are reeling under severe drought conditions and the people are migrating in search of livelihood, there is no response at all from the State Government and the Chief Minister, Dhulipala said.

The Chief Minister is not feeling ashamed of the remarks made by the ruling party leaders of the neighbouring State of Telangana that grain is not being purchased in the State, he said. When will the State submit reports to the Centre on the drought condition and when the relief will be released to bail out the farmers, he asked.

Did the State Government ever conduct any kind of review meetings on the prevailing drought situation in the State, Narendra said and advised the Chief Minister to focus on supplying irrigation water to the fields. Though the Centre has released Rs 500 cr under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), in July why not even a single rupee is released by the State for providing drinking water facility or to save the standing crops, Narendra asked.

Stating the the farmers wing of the TDP which met recently under the leadership of the president of the State unit of TDP, Atchen Naidu, has taken a decision to visit the drought-hit areas, Narendra said that the party leaders will personally meet all the affected farmers. “The TDP will move ahead with an action plan to personally meet the farmers and take the prevailing situation to the notice of the State Government. We will also take the help of the Jana Sena in this regard,” Narendra maintained.

YSR Congress rebel MP, K Raghurama Krishnam Raju, had filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking transfer of AP chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s cases to another state. He said that Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa’s cases were transferred to Karnataka.

Raghurama Krishnam Raju said that Jagan Mohan Reddy’s cases were postponed in the court for 3,041 times so far. There was no regular hearing of the cases in the CBI court in Hyderabad, he said and wanted the Supreme Court to transfer the case to another state.

The rebel MP said that there are 11 cases filed by the CBI against Jagan Mohan Reddy. He wanted the Supreme Court to use CRPC section 406 and transfer the cases to another state, as was done in the case of Jayalalithaa.

He said that there was no progress in the cases of CBI in the Hyderabad court in the last ten years. If this trend continues, there is no possibility of completing hearing of the cases in the near future, he said.

Raghurama Krishnam Raju wondered why the CBI and other investigating agencies were silent as the court is postponing the cases. He also wanted the Supreme Court to direct the central investigating agencies to speed up the hearing of the cases in the court. He also told the supreme court to direct the Central government to take steps to complete the hearing of the cases and punish the guilty.

Raghurama Krishnam Raju told the court that case 8/2012 was postponed 259 times, while case 9/2012 was postponed 374 times, case 24/2014 was postponed 217 times, case 12/2013 was postponed 243 times, 26/2013 was postponed 280 times, 28/2013 was postponed 213 times, 27/2013 was postponed 228 times, case 24/2013 was postponed 210 times, case 14/2012 was postponed 375 times, case 25/2013 was postponed 266 times, and case 10/2012 was postponed 376 times.

He wanted the supreme court to take a call on these cases and ensure that they are transferred to another state and hearing is completed at the earliest.

Lokesh demands State Govt to come to rescue of farmers

0

“I really feel sad to know that farmers are setting their crops on fire, and it is really harrowing to know that paddy farmers are hanging themselves in their agricultural lands,” said TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Monday.

In an open letter to Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, the TDP general secretary said that the whole State is now witnessing heart-rendering scenes of paddy cultivators falling at the feet of the officials to release water to save their standing crops. Farmers are coming onto the roads across the whole State, Lokesh said and expressed serious concern that if the State Government does not respond on a war-footing basis there is every danger that Andhra Pradesh will soon turn into a State without farming community.

The State has not witnessed this kind of drought situation in the past 100 years, Lokesh said in the open letter and pointed out that the lowest-ever rainfall is recorded for the first time in the YSRCP regime. Regretting that the State stood in the third position in farmers suicides in the country, Mr Lokesh felt that the Jagan Reddy Government has miserably failed in explaining to the Centre the ground situation prevailing in various mandals.

When the situation during the Kharif season is like this, one can easily understand the Rabi season, he stated. Pointing out that many reservoirs do not have sufficient water reserves while in others water is not being released despite having sufficient water reserves, Lokesh regretted that when former chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu, went to explain in detail the situation to the people, he has been illegally arrested and sent to jail only to stifle his voice.

“People are really unfortunate that the State has a Chief Minister who has sufficient time to review the conspiracies to retain Chandrababu inside the jail by managing the systems but not on the prevailing drought condition in the State,” Lokesh observed in the open letter. Farmers in the Pennar, the Krishna and the Tungabhadra deltas are coming onto the roads demanding supply of water for irrigation as crops like paddy, cotton and groundnut got completely damaged, he felt.

Though the farmers are trying to save their crop by supplying water from the bore-wells, this is becoming impossible as there is no power supply, Lokesh said in the open letter to the Chief Minister and demanded the State Government to initiate urgent measures to come to the rescue of the farmers. He also wanted that the drought-hit mandals be identified immediately and send a report to the Centre.

Lokesh also wanted the waiver of farm loans and pay compensation to the farmers by assessing the crop damage on a war-footing basis.

YSRCP govt bought trasnformers at higher prices, says Somireddy

0

Former Minister and Politburo member of Telugu Desam Party Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy criticised the YSR Congress Government for buying power transformers for exorbitant rates from select manufacturers, especially Shirdi Sai Electricals.

During a power point presentation on unprecedented price escalation in the cost of transformers after YSRC came to power, he produced rates of transformers in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh during 2022-23 while comparing them with the rates during TD regime in 2018-19 to justify his allegations.

According to Chandramohan Reddy, the price of 25 KVA transformer shot up to Rs. 1,78,800 during YSR Congress regime (2022-23) from mere Rs. 58,569.30 during TD regime in 2018-19, which is an increase of 305 percent leading to an escalation of Rs. 1,20,230.

Incidentally, the Telangana government had purchased the 25 KVA transformers for only Rs 79,829 each during 2022-23, which reflects a price difference of Rs 98,971, the percent of escalation is 223.98%.

Similarly, the 63 KVA transformer is being purchased for 2,81,000 by YSRC government while the rate during TD regime was Rs 89,892 only, leading to an escalation of Rs 1,91,108 and the percentage of escalation is 312.60%. Telangana is procuring the same for Rs 1,22,936, a price difference of Rs 1,58,064 and percentage difference of 228.57%.

In case of 100 KVA transformers, the cost was Rs 1.20 lakhs per unit during TD regime and the present AP government is buying for a whopping Rs 3.58 lakhs, a price difference of Rs. 2.38 lakhs and the percentage of increase is 297.56%.

In case of Telangana, the present price is Rs 1,86,505, a difference of Rs 1,71,495 and the percentage of escalation is 191.95%.

Similarly, the 160 KVA is being purchased for Rs. 6,36,000.01 now as against Rs.2,00,790 during TDP rule, a price difference of Rs.4,35,210 and the percentage of increase is 316.75%. Incidentally, Telangana procuring the same for Rs. 3,13,533, a price difference of Rs. 3,22,467 and percentage of escalation is 202.85%.

With regard to 315 KVA transformers, the price difference during TD regime and YSRC rule is mind boggling. While YSRC government is buying Rs 16, 75,000 as against Rs 5,71,252 during TD regime, the price difference is Rs.11,03,748 and percentage escalation is 293.22%. The price of this transformer in Telangana is Rs. 8,60,277, a difference of Rs. 13,61,467, a percentage increase of 194.70%.

The senior TD leader demanded an explanation from the government for buying the transformers from select manufacturers based in Telangana and AP ignoring reputed firms across India. He charged that these manufactures formed a ring and jacked up the prices of transformers abnormally following the intervention of YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

The icing on the cake is that MD of Shirdi Sai Electricals, Visweswar Reddy also hails from Pulivendula. He alleged that lion share of transformers are being purchased from Shirdi Sai Electricals while pointing to orders worth Rs 673 Cr (62.21 percent of total order) placed with the firm. This kind of orders on a single firm has never happened in the history of Discoms in India and beats all records.
