Jagan’s 7-month rule is a ‘good beginning’ for AP, says KTR

2

TRS working president and and IT minister KT Rama Rao on Sunday termed the seven-month rule of YSRCP government-led by Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy as a ‘good beginning’.

KTR was interacting with the people through his twitter handle # Ask KTR, on Sunday.

However, KTR replied ‘diplomatically’ on the question of Jagan’s move to set up three capitals for AP.

Netizens posed questions to KCR asking him to tell his opinion as a ‘neutral citizen’ on having three capitals for AP. They asked him to forget that he belongs to Telangana for a while while replying this answer.

But, KTR avoided a direct reply to this question posed by a netizen saying that, “It’s not for me to decide whether the decision taken by Jagan on having three capitals for AP is good or bad. It’s for the people of AP to decide on this issue.”

KTR credited his minister post to the hard work of TRS workers.

When asked about memorable event in 2019, KTR said that TRS making a clean sweep of Zilla Parishads in 2019 is something which he will cherish forever.

Andhra constitutes high-power committee on capital issue

0

The Andhra Pradesh government has constituted a high-power committee to examine the recommendations of the expert committee, which suggested three capital formula for the decentralised development of the state.

Two days after the state cabinet decided to form the high-power committee, the government on Sunday issued orders constituting a 16-member panel, comprising ministers and top officials.

Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney, who will be the convenor of the high-power committee, issued the orders to this effect.

The panel will submit its report in three weeks. The members include 11 ministers and five officials, including Director General of Police and Principal Advisor to Chief Minister.

According to the Government Order (GO), high-power committee may seek the advice of the Advocate General.

It will also take into account the recommendations of the Boston Consultancy Group (BCG) while finalising the strategy and the way forward.

After six-member expert committee submitted its report on December 20, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government roped in the BCG to study the option available for the development of the capital city.

the BCG is likely to submit its report in the first week of January.

The state cabinet on Friday deferred a final decision on state capital and decided to constitute a high-power committee to study the reports of both the expert committee and the BCG.

It was in September that Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government had constituted a six-member expert committee on the concept of decentralised development and work out a strategy on the way forward, keeping in view various provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

The panel, comprising urban planning experts, suggested that three capital cities be developed by shifting some capital function from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam and Kurnool. It mooted Visakhapatnam as administrative capital and Kurnool as the judicial capital while Amaravti can house State Assembly and Raj Bhavan.

The report triggered unrest among farmers in 29 villages of Amaravati, who had given 33,000 acres of land in 2015 for development of the state capital. The farmers are staging daily protests, demanding the government to drop three-capital proposal and develop the capital in Amaravati as planned by the previous Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government.

The farmers have also approached the High Court, challenging the government’s proposed move.

RSS and VHP fire at BJP over Amaravati confusion

0

The saffron brigade at the national level is throwing all its weight behind the Amaravati farmers’ cause. The RSS and VHP leaders have taken a strong stand to oppose the shifting of AP Capital out of Amaravati. These leaders held meetings internally and took this decision. Especially, the RSS leaders have objected to some BJP national leaders who are talking in different voices on Capital issue. Apparently, this complaint is mainly against BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao who tried to defend CM Jagan by saying that Capital issue is a prerogative of the state government. After anti-Capital shifting agitation became stronger, GVL disappeared from the scene and stopped all his pro-Jagan comments.

Considering the seriousness of the issue, the RSS leaders asked BJP AP President Kanna Laxminarayana to make sure that no leader crosses party line. The RSS, VHP and BJP should follow a united stand which is for continuing Capital in Amaravati. This is a holy place for the Hindu people. Moreover, none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid foundation stone for Amaravati Capital City at Uddandarayunipalem village. The decisions of the saffron brigade came as a big shock to YCP. BJP MP Suresh Prabhu, who was close to PM, met Jagan Reddy but it was not known whether he discussed Amaravati issue.

Jagan Amaravati plan to punish one caste? RK

0

The insider information from the ruling YCP leaders is surprising even the bitter critics of CM Jagan Reddy. The latest news is that the CM has deliberately decided to shift Capital just for the sake of his party’s votebank interests amid other things. Jagan does not want to spend thousands of crores on Amaravati as it would benefit only one particular caste but not his party. These caste people in Guntur and Krishna districts will not vote for the YCP even if it develops Capital. Andhra Jyothi Managing Director Radha Krishna talks about these issues in his latest Kothapaluku column. RK says that Jagan Reddy has told his close leaders that it would be a mere waste of time and energy to continue in Amaravati without any future benefits.

Whereas, Jagan Reddy considers North Coastal as a better proposition. The party could be further strengthened there. The people will also give greater support if Vizag is made Capital. RK writes that even the people in Nellore district are expressing impatience against the policies of YCP. The party has won 10 out of 10 assembly segments in the district in 2019 election. But, the Nellore Pedda Reddys are now saying that they should suffer like this because they have give total majority to Jagan Reddy very blindly. The Rayalaseema people are also not happy. RK says that they voted to give One Chance to YSR son but did not think Jagan would give such problems to all.

Amaravati protests to continue: Will adamant Jagan change?

0

The farmers in Amaravati Capital villages are still seething with anger and continuing their protests on 11th day. They are disappointed that the Jagan Reddy Cabinet did not take reject the recommendations of the GN Rao Committee on Capital shifting. Moreover, there are increasing fears that CM Jaganmohan Reddy will be implementing his controversial ‘Three Capitals’ plan in January-end. The ruling Ministers are making stronger indications towards this end. Amid these concerns, the farmers are continuing their dharna camps in Tulluru, Mandadam and other villages. A good number of women are turning up and freely expressing their concerns at the protest programmes. Their main concern is that they will have nothing to pass on to their next generation if the government returns uncultivable lands back to them.

The police are trying hard to prevent dharnas in villages but residents are not relenting. Farmers and women are more aggressive than before. They are raising slogans demanding ‘Save Amaravati’ and ‘Save AP’. CPI leader K. Narayana, former minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and scores of opposition leaders have expressed their solidarity. The Amaravati Protection Committee and local villagers have decided to continue the protests till there is a clear statement from none other than Jagan Reddy withdrawing Capital shifting plans.

Boston Consultants toeing Jagan line? Vizag Capital

0

The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), US, has now prominently come into the AP political scene. It is not known when AP Circar asked the BCG to study the Amaravati Capital. But the Boston-based consultancy already submitted its report to the Jaganmohan Reddy government. This report is now being brought to the centre stage by the ruling YCP in view of growing criticism of the GN Rao Experts Committee. GN Rao was a Group 1 Officer promoted to IAS. The opposition is dismissing GN Rao Report as unqualified and unlawful. Now, CM Jagan is going to rely heavily on Boston Group Report in order to secure minimum support before shifting Capital City.

Amid this, rumours are doing rounds that the BCG report has also supported the government’s move to develop ‘Three Capitals’. The Boston consultants considered a ‘greenfield capital’ at Amaravati would require thousands of crores to develop new layouts, roads, bridges, drainage systems and other facilities. Everything has to be built from the beginning. Also, three to four longer bridges would have to be built across the Krishna river to connect both sides of the river. Whereas, a ‘brownfield capital’ can be built in lesser time in an already developed city like Vizag. This would also involve lesser financial burden on the government. The YCP Ministers and MLAs are now referring more to Boston report than GN Rao panel.

Jagan worried about negative national media?

0

Last few days, very bad reports are appearing in the national media against the very governance style of AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy. A senior most journalist like Shekhar Gupta did not hesitate to compare Jagan administration to that of Tughlaq who was known in history for his misrule. This is the first time that a CM got such negative reviews of a very low order at the national level. The Economic Times has also published editorials calling AP Government decisions harmful to the development agenda of the whole country.

Amid this wave of media spotlight, the Jaganmohan Reddy government temporarily withheld its decision on Capital shifting. But the Ministers are continuing their attacks on Chandrababu Naidu on alleged irregularities in Amaravati Capital City construction contracts. Obviously, Jagan Reddy is going to come up with stronger reasons to defend himself before implementing his ‘Three Capitals’ proposal. There’s are indications that TDP leaders will be held guilty of insider trading in Capital plan. This will be spread widely in the national media.

AP Government National Media Advisor Devulapalli Amar could not prevent negative reports in national media these past few days. Next time, the government is wanting to take all precautions to make sure there will be lesser negative reports to Capital shifting.

Jagan atrocities may cause people’s revolt: Naidu

0

TDP National President N Chandrababu Naidu advised CM Jaganmohan Reddy to realise his mistakes in the issue of Capital shifting to Visakhapatnam. Naidu told CM to continue Assembly and Secretariat in the present buildings in Amaravati and save the Rs 10,000 Cr additional expenditure in another place. If YCP Circar is really worried about mobilising Rs. 1.9 lakh Cr, it can continue in existing facilities in Amaravati without spending a single rupee. Naidu reacted on the change in the government plans on Three Capitals proposal after Cabinet meeting decided not to shift Capital immediately but ordered another committee to study it.

Chandrababu hinted at taking a delegation of Capital City farmers, Amaravati Protection Committee leaders and political leaders to meet PM Modi in Delhi soon. The PM will be urged to intervene and protect the interests of Amaravati farmers.

Naidu said that the protests of farmers and all round criticism forced the government to go slow. He warned that Jagan Reddy would soon have no alternative but to run away from AP if all the people and 29 villages in Amaravati revolted against his government. Why has Jagan Reddy got so much hatred towards one particular region in the state? Naidu said that it was not correct for the YCP to attack and cripple one particular area. The Naidu said that the Ministers couldn’t prove a single instance of insider trading against TDP leaders in Amaravati. They tried to tarnish one particular caste but finally failed to convince the people with their lies.

Jagan 3-day tour ends: Rs 1327-cr works for Pulivendula

0

AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy concluded his 3-day tour in Pulivendula. All these days, he went on a spree of laying foundation stones for various developmental works worth Rs. 1,327 cr. He told the people of his native constituency that he was repaying to them for all their love and support all these years to the YSR family. In all, 26 development projects are taken up in Pulivendula now.

CM took part happily in the Christmas celebrations at the CSI Church in Pulivendula. His mother Vijayamma, wife Bharati, relatives and followers were present on the occasion. Jagan laid foundation stones for several projects in memory of his father YSR. A Rs. 350-cr YS Rajasekhara Reddy Government Medical College is coming up in the town. Lot of focus was there on Jagan home town tour because of the ongoing protests by Amaravati farmers against Three Capitals announcement.

TDP MP Kesineni Nani tweeter a bitter message saying that CM Jagan Reddy may share the joy and happiness of Christmas with his family in Kadapa while the rest of AP people will continue to suffer because of his decisions.

Rs 27 Cr public money for Idupulapaya private estate?

3

AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has generously released Rs. 27 Cr public funds to develop tourism attractions in Idupulapaya in his native Kadapa district. They will be spent to construct his father YSR’s Memorial. That too, it will come up adjacent to YSR samadhi in his family’s private estate. So many complicated issues are involved in this but the top District Officials immediately released the money to begin the works once CMO gave orders. The officials of tourism department boldly came forward to use this opportunity to please their bosses. So, this money is being drawn from the tourism department. The big question doing the rounds is how many tourists on their own visit Idupulapaya estate. Will they be allowed into the estate even if they come? Even YCP activists go there only on one or two occasions when top leaders come there to pay their respects.

In the beginning, CM Jagan Reddy used to talk a lot and give lectures to party leaders and Ministers on the need for using public funds very cautiously. He used to talk about the severe financial strain in the state and how Chandrababu Naidu left huge debts to be repaid. As weeks pass by, crores of public funds were spent on developing facilities and furniture at his residences at Tadepalli and Lotus Pond. No funds are released for MLAs for development works in their segments. But, Jagan released huge money for various projects in his native Pulivendula segment.

We’ll not allow Jagan atrocities in Vizag: Sabbam

0

Former MP Sabbam Hari made sensational allegations against AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy and the ruling YCP leaders. He warned them against continuing their land grabbing and administrative atrocities in Visakhapatnam. He said that the Capital is being shifted just because Jagan Reddy and his coterie cannot carry out their land grabbing activities in Amaravati region. It is clear that YCP has set its eyes on looting Bheemili region since there is lot of vacant land there. Only because of this, Capital is being shifted in this tourist spot.

Sabbam Hari expressed sadness that Jagan Reddy Gang is crushing the entire Andhra Pradesh state with their non-stop wicked political games. The former MP said that he was being deeply disturbed at the emerging threats to AP because of Jagan Reddy policies. This CM is not doing anything positive or constructive but he is only bent upon destroying the state for the sake of personal greed. Hari said that he has got clear evidence of how YCP leaders are grabbing lands in Bheemili area already.

Jagan Cabinet to meet at Vizag on Dec 27?

0

It all looks like the December 27 AP Cabinet meeting will be held in Visakhapatnam. Jagan Circar is not interested any more in functioning from Amaravati effectively. Moreover, all political parties activists are revolting against the government in the 29 Capital City villages. At such a time, it is not considered safe to hold the most significant Cabinet meeting there. The December 27 meeting will be historic as it will take a final decision on Three Capitals. It will discuss the recommendations of GN Rao Experts Committee. If Cabinet meets at Vizag, then there is no doubt that majority functions of the government will immediately start in North Coastal city itself. Ever since the Three Capitals announcement, the administration has come to a halt in Amaravati and Vijayawada cities.

Jagan Reddy’s move is badly crippling almost all sections of society in Vijayawada, Amaravati and Guntur cities. Already, construction workers committed suicides for loss of livelihoods. Now, others will also feel the same suffering. Even IAS and IPS officers have bought housing plots on loans through EMIs. They are in deep shock over the unilateral Capital shifting. The pro-Jagan Reddy bureaucrats are also shocked at the oppressive decisions. Senior bureaucrats have no courage even to tell Jagan Reddy how government employees will also suffer badly. The general comment is that the people gave brute majority to Jagan Reddy and nobody can stop him from doing what he is doing.

NRC will not be implemented, Jagan assures Muslims

0

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday assured Muslims that National Register of Citizens (NRC) would not be implemented in the state.

He gave the assurance at a gathering of Muslims in his native Kadapa district.

“We are opposed to NRC. I assure the minorities that we will not implement it,” he said, responding to the concern expressed by community leaders.

Jagan, as the Chief Minister is popularly known, said Deputy Chief Minister Amjath Basha had already announced the government’s stand on NRC.

“We are certainly opposed to NRC and we will not implement it. This is my assurance to all Muslims in the state,” he said.

Jagan’s statement comes a day after All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi appealed to the chief ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to oppose NRC.

Jagan’s YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) had voted for the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) in Parliament while Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) had opposed it.

Jagan lays foundation stone: Kadapa Steel Plant

0

AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is showering gifts on his native Kadapa district people ahead of his first Christmas celebrations after coming to power. At a grand function, Jagan laid foundation stone for the Kadapa plant at Sunnapurallapalli in Jammalamadugu area. Speaking on the occasion, CM asserted that development has taken place only during YS Rajasekhara Reddy in the past and now under his regime. He mocked at Chandrababu Naidu for laying foundation stone for steel plant just six months before elections only for votes. But now, works are beginning in just six months of YCP coming to power. The State government itself will spend Rs. 15,000 cr to complete the steel plant in just three years.

The CM and his Ministers have diverted their attention totally outside of Amaravati Capital City for the past few days. CM is busy with programmes in Rayalaseema districts. Vijayasai Reddy, Sucharita, Botsa Satyanarayana and others are concentrating on Visakhapatnam. They have been saying that backward regions are totally neglected during TDP rule. Jagan Reddy is nullifying Capital shifting sentiment in Seema with the promise of greater development. North Coastal region leaders are happy over the promise of Executive Capital in Vizag. Jagan has also released dozens of GOs sanctioning hundreds of crores for Pulivendula development.

AP advocates to fight against Jagan’s move on Amaravati!

1

Advocates in six districts in Andhra Pradesh have joined hand to launch a united fight against AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s move to reduce the significance of Amaravati capital by setting up two more capitals in Vizag and Kurnool.

On Sunday, the advocates announced their plan of action to resist relocating Secretariat and High Court from Amaravati to Vizag and Kurnool.

The advocates met at the Bar Association Hall and a Joint Action Committee of the Bar Association has been formed with Chalasani Ajay as its Chairman.

The meeting resolved to press the government to retain the state capital in Amaravati and also the High Court.

The meeting chalked out various agitational programmes to achieve the JAC’s goals.

Protest rallies would be organized on Dec 23, a Chalo High court rally would be taken out on Dec 24, laying siege to the Prakasam Barrage would be organized with the participation of farmers of the capital region, elected people’s representatives on Dec 26.

On Dec 27, the JAC would approach the ministers taking part in the Cabinet meeting to apprise them of the JAC’s demands and would not hesitate to stall the Cabinet meeting. On Dec 27, they also meet at Nelapadu in the high court region and review the decisions taken at the Cabinet meeting and declare future course of action.

The government should understand the sacrifices made by farmers, the JAC said and opined that change of state capital with the change of ruler is not justified.

The JAC felt that the GN Rao committee report has no legal validity. The JAC of Bar Association assured farmers to argue the cases registered against farmers free of cost and lend their support to the farmers.

Birthday exposes KCR-Jagan’s strained relations!

0

AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy had celebrated his birthday in a grand manner on Saturday (yesterday).

However, his birthday has exposed the ‘increasing gap’ between Jagan and Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao.

This is because, KCR did not bother to greet Jagan on his birthday.

Normally, the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office (KCR’s office) sends a press release to media organizations conveying KCR’s wishes to prominent people.

But this time, KCR’s office remained silent.

Interestingly, KCR’s son and IT Minister KT Rama Rao and TRS Rajya Sabha MP Joginapally Santhosh Kumar greeted Jagan through Twitter.

This triggered speculations that KCR is not happy with Jagan especially after he announced his own plans to link Krishna and Godavari rivers and ignoring the KCR’s plan on Krishna-Godavari linkage.

KCR is also learnt to be unhappy with the statement of Jagan on Pothireddypadu project as TRS waged its battle for Telangana statehood by highlighting Pothireddypadu issue during previous Congress regime in Undivided AP.

Jagan telling lies, say Amaravati farmers

0

The farmers in AP Capital City are asking why CM Jaganmohan Reddy supported Amaravati Capital proposal when he was the opposition leader. They recalled how Jagan welcomed Amaravati project on the floor of the Assembly when the then Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu made the proposal. At that time, Jagan supported pooling of 30,000 acres to build a grand Capital for AP. Farmers say that it’s because of such statements that they got confident and gave 33,000 acres for Capital construction. But now after becoming CM, Jagan has taken a U-turn and started talking about Amaravati unfit as Capital.

Farmers are recalling how Jagan told them all sweet lies during his Padayatra in Amaravati area. Jagan told them that he would bring in more development there after coming to power. Before elections, Jagan mother Vijayamma visited the area and prayed for One Chance. She also promised more development in Amaravati. But now, she is nowhere to be seen. Farmers are recalling how they innocently believed Jagan family and voted for the YCP candidates.

Farmers are saying that if Jagan Reddy opposed Amaravati Capital before elections, they would not have given their lands to the government. The farmers are expressing fears that Jagan Reddy will not give back their lands in proper condition once he takes capital to Vizag.

Amaravati will be erased forever: Jagan grand sketch

1

AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy only gives advice, never takes it. He may be having dozens of private advisors getting Rs. 4 lakh monthly salary from the government. But none of them dares to advise him on any issue including Capital City shifting. No advisor is daring to raise Amaravati farmers’ problems before Jagan Reddy. No IAS or IPS officer is daring to tell CM about the future complications of his decision. Both Tadikonda and Mangalagiri assembly segments, located in Capital city limits, are won by YCP. But still, Jagan hates the word Amaravati just because it brings back memories of Chandrababu Naidu forever. Now, YSR son is completing his mission to erase Amaravati from AP administrative and legislative map forever.

Now, Visakhapatnam is selected for holding summer Assembly. It means sessions will be held there for over 35 out of total 40 days there every year. Amaravati may be winter capital. So, session will be held here for four to five days. Jagan’s one-time supporter and ex Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao says that going by Jagan Reddy’s attitude and temperament, he may not hold Amaravati assembly sessions at all. Once Capital is shifted to Vizag, CM will totally ignore Amaravati. Just like Praja Vedika, whose debris is not cleared yet, the other buildings in Amaravati will be left incomplete. No doubt, the deathless city will truly become a burial ground as per the wishes of YCP Ministers.

High Court orders Jagan Circar to pay Rs 1,400 cr: PPAs

0

The AP High Court expressed its disbelief and shock over the continuing indifference of Jagan Reddy Regime to its orders in various cases. The court ordered the government to pay a compensation of Rs. 1,400 Cr to three solar and wind power companies towards damages. This is relating to the violation of PPA agreements by the YCP government. The court asked the government pleader why Jagan Reddy Regime is treating its orders with contempt.

The YCP government has also ignored the orders of the Modi government at the Centre to honour the Power Purchase Agreements. But Jagan Reddy continued defying the Centre. This has led to Modi-Shah taking a hard view. They stopped giving him official appointments to Jagan to meet them in Delhi. Recently, AP CM waited for hours and hours to meet Amit Shah in National Capital but Shah didn’t care about Jagan. There are rumours that Union Home Minister is not giving appointments to Jagan as he is not able to give proper reasons to meet him. Jagan’s Rs. 43,000 Cr CBI illegal assets cases are alleged to be the reason for Shah to keep CM at a distance. All these factors caused Jagan to further embarrass Modi by harassing power companies.

Temples’ funds to be diverted for Sarada Peetham

0

The Jaganmohan Reddy government has ordered five major temples to provide their funds to Visakhapatnam-based Sarada Peetham. This is to help Peethadhipathi Swaroopanandendra Swami’s national level ‘Hindu Dharma Parirakshana’ meetings to be held for a month from January 3. The Swamiji has asked for help from CM Jagan Reddy. Following this, Endowments Minister Vellampalli Srinivas immediately issued orders asking Srisailam, Dwaraka Tirumala, Vijayawada Kanaka Durga, Annavaram and Simhachalam Temples to help Sarada Peetham. As per the existing guidelines, the respective temples should spend devotees’ funds by organising meetings by themselves but not by external agencies.

However, everybody knows Swaroopanandendra is a very influential godman who takes credit even for bringing Jagan Reddy to power in last elections. Recently, TTD Chairman SV Subba Reddy along with EO and others met and discussed various issues with the Swamiji. Interestingly, the TTD is spared from this funds diversion to the private meetings of Sarada Peetham. The endowment officials of respective temples are now in a dilemma. If they give funds, it would be a violation of norms. They will land in trouble in future.
