YSRCP MLA’s audio on ‘bad roads’ goes viral!

0

The YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh led by Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is facing severe criticism for all quarters on the worst condition of roads and highways in the state.

The YSRCP government failed to take up road repairs since it came to power in May 2019.

Because there are no funds to repair roads as all the funds are drying up for cash dole out schemes of YS Jagan in the name of Navaratnalu.

Although the AP government is inviting tenders for road repairs, none of the contractors are coming forward to take up works with a fear that the cash-strapped AP government will not clear their bills.

This sorry state of affairs was admitted by none other than YSRCP MLA himself.

An audio clip of YSRCP MLA from Elamanchili Assembly constituency Kanna Babu Raju on lack of funds to take up road repairs has gone viral on various social media platforms.

In the audio, a citizen called up MLA directly over phone and raised the issue of the bad condition of roads in his constituency.

To this, the MLA replied, “Where are the funds to take up road repair works. All the funds are evaporating due to distribution to people in the name of various welfare schemes.”

The MLA was even heard saying “Am I God to lay all the roads or repair the roads.”

Why did Vijaysai completely surrender to the Centre on special status?

0

Why is YSRCP general secretary and Rajya Sabha member Vijayasai Reddy being so obsequious towards the BJP at the Centre? Why is he pandering to the BJP so much? This question is baffling the political class in the Telugu states. For a local party with such a huge majority, he is being too meek while dealing with the BJP. This is the general opinion in political circles.

Vijaysai Reddy has not just backed the JK policy of the BJP, but even praised it. The parliamentary standing committee on commerce , which is headed by Vijaysai Reddy, has lauded the hike in allocations for the Ladakh and the JK. Interestingly, Ladakh does not have a capital. Yet, Vijaysai lauded the allocations.

Ironically, the BJP is showing more affection towards Ladakh and is ignored the claims of Andhra Pradesh. Though the committee led by Vijaysai Reddy did say that the Centre should show the same kind of affection towards other states like Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and AP, whoch had lost their capitals due to bifurcation. They also recommented a 10-year special package to these states. But, did not press for it.

It clearly shows that the YSRCP and Vijayasai Reddy are in no mood to fight with the Centre on any issue. The tone is not aggressive but meek . This is being trolled by the netizens to no end. They are questioning as to why he had failed to get even a single rupee as special fund for the state. They pointed out that the special status is already a dead subject due to the inaction of both the ruling party and the Opposition. Now looking at the obsequious body language of Vijaysai , it is clear that the AP is not going to get anything for the state.

All is not well in Tirupati YSRCP

0

All is not well in Tirupati YSRCP. The party corporators are at loggerheads with the Tirupati MLA. They have told MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy that the days of MLAs dominating the corporators were gone. Not just that. They are keeping a distance from the MLA.  As a result, the MLA is feeling isolated in his own citadel.

The YSRCP had got a road-roller majority in the Tirupati Municipal Corporation elections. It had won 48 of the 49 divisions. The TDP had won in just a single seat. With such an assailable majority, it should have been a smooth ride for the YSRCP. Instead, there is intense groupism in the Tirupati YSRCP. The corporators are not willing to submit to Bhumana. They are taking decisions on their own without even bothering to consult the MLA. As a result, the officers of the TMC are caught in a cleft stick like situation not knowing who to listen to.

Several land related disputes and illegal constructions are happening in Tirupati and in all these, the MLA and the corporators are fighting with one another. In places like Jeeva Kona, Autonagar, MR Nagar, Timmanaidu Palem, Rajiv Nagar and Upadhyaya Nagar there are several land disputes. It is being rumoured that the corporators are demanding their cut in every land deal and are now allegedly trying to gobble up an acre of land behind the railway station.

The disputes between MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy and the YSRCP corporators have now become the talk of the town.  Every day, some dispute or the other is coming up and the officials are having a tough time handling both the groups. Some YSRCP well-wishers reportedly took the issue to the notice of the party leadership.

Tekkali turns the biggest battleground for TDP, YSRCP in North Andhra

1

Tekkali in North Andhra is a unique constituency. This is a very important constituency as TDP AP president Atchen Naidu represents it. Atchen Naidu managed to retain this constituency despite a massive anti-TDP wave in 2019. Despite slew of tactics that the YSRCP adopted, Atchen Naidu had won in the elections. But, the YSRCP is not ready to give up and is trying to attack Atchen Naidu at every given opportunity. This contest has made Tekkali hog headlines every now and then.

Though Atchen Naidu has won from Tekkali, the YSRCP came to power in the state. So the top bosses of the YSRCP have made Atchen’s bête noire Duvvada Srinivas as an MLC and made him a rival political pole in Tekkali. Srinivas has been attacking Atchen Naidu very aggressively. Initially, Atchen Naidu too tried to counter him with verbal harangues. But ever since his arrest in the ESI scam, he has toned down quite a bit. He has also reportedly asked his supporters to tone down their criticism. With this MLC Duvvada Srinivas has become more aggressive. He has begun attacking both Chandrababu and Lokesh also along with Atchen Naidu.

Even the YSRCP cadre has begun attacking the TDP and Atchen Naidu in particular. Warnings and challenges have become the order of the day in Tekkali. The latest is that Atchen Naidu has decided to pay the YSRCP back in the same coin. He reportedly told the TDP cadre to give a fitting reply to the YSRCP. With this, the political situation in the constituency has become too muddled. Not just the leaders, even the cadres are verbally attacking each other. Political watchers are watching the politics as it unfolds. They are waiting to see how both Kinjarapu and Duvvada clans battle it out.

YSRCP biggies’ go on luxury tours, put Jagan in a spot

0

The profligate and luxurious ways of the YSRCP leaders, especially the MLAs and Ministers, has become a source of bother for AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Many such luxury tours have now become public knowledge and have turned into topics of heated discussions. This is bringing a bad name to the ruling party, which talks ad nauseum about poor people and uplifting their lives.

First it was Jagan’s close relative and minister Balineni Srinivas Reddy’s tour of Russia in a private jet. The pic of this tour was uploaded by none other than the minister himself. Now this has become cannon fodder for the opposition. Clever Balineni silenced the TDP by claiming that TDP MLA Anagani Satyaprasad too accompanied him. However, questions are being raised about the profligate ways of the “pro-poor” politicos.

It is now emerging that a group of YSRCP MLAs, led by one minister spent 4-5 days in the luxurious sea side resorts in Goa. The YSRCP leaders, who were all from the Rayalaseema region, were there to “unwind” themselves in “all possible manners.” It is now reliably learnt that one MLA has invested heavily in the water-front hotel. What is interesting is that the minister, two MLAs and other elected people’s representatives did not go together. They all came separately and met in Goa. What more? These worthies have taken care to ensure that the news is kept a secret.

YSRCP MLAs going to unwind themselves in luxury resorts in Bengaluru is also well-known. Now that these two joints have come to light, the others are being quite discreet. They are trying to cover their tracks. But, the intel sources are said to be trying to unearth more such luxury escapades of the VIPs from Andhra Pradesh.

Despite Jagan’s diktat, YSRCP leaders involved in shady land deals

1

AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is said to have taken a serious view of the spate of land grab attempts by his MLAs and even ministers. He has reportedly asked his intel wing to keep a tab on the land grab by his party leaders, including MLAs and ministers. He has also reportedly taken a serious view of the land settlements done by his party functionaries.

Recently one of the former MLAs was arrested for resorting to land settlements and financial irregularities. The arrest was made by the Odisha police. A shocked Jagan is said to have asked his police and the intel officials to get information about the deals of the former MLA. Recently, there were allegations that a first0time MLA has occupied a water tank in his constituency. Later, it was learnt that the YSRCP top leadership has severely reprimanded the MLA.

In North Andhra’s Rolugunta area too, there are allegations that the ruling party leaders and the mandal revenue official have colluded to gobble up 125 acres. There are allegations that at least Rs 5 crore changed hands in this deal. In another incident that came to light, an MLA from North Andhra wanted to gobble up a 12.26 acre land for just 18.7 crore. The actual cost of the land is more than Rs 100 crore. The High Court had issued a stay order on the attempt to buy this land by paying peanuts.

YS jagan is said to be worried about the spate of such incidents in all parts of the state. Though he has asked the MLAs not to meddle in land deals, several MLAs and top leaders of the party are said to have been involved in several such deals.

Why did this Minister skip the programme in his own district?

1

The absence of irrigation minister Anil Kumar Yadav at the programme organised to lift the gates of Somasila reservoir has now become a hot topic in the political circles in general and in Nellore district in particular. Normally, the irrigation minister would be the chief guest when project gates are lifted. Moreover, Anil Kumar Yadav is from Nellore and Somasila reservoir is in the same district.

Interestingly, no one talked about why the irrigation minister was not present at the programme. Minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy or other MLAs, who were present at the event, too were tight-lipped about the incident. As a result, the minister’s absence became a hot topic for discussion.

It later emerged that Anil Kumar Yadav was unwell and was hospitalised in Hyderabad. After getting discharged from the hospital, he is said to be recuperating in the hospital. But the biggest issue here is why there was no official information about the minister’s ill health. Also, why is this secrecy about a minister’s health condition? This secrecy has led to the rumour mills going into tizzy about Anil Kumar Yadav.

It is well-known in Nellore district that Anil Kumar Yadav has a running feud with the Anam family. Anam Ramanarayana Reddy has in fact threatened to undertake a padayatra in the Nellore urban constituency against Anil Kumar Yadav. The differences have further deepened after Anam Ramanarayana Reddy’s father Venkat Reddy’s statue was removed during the flyover construction in the city. Recently Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy had to hold a meeting in Nellore to iron out the differences among the party leaders. Sources say, several other MLAs too have ganged up against Anil Kumar Yadav. Sources say Anil Kumar Yadav may have decided against going to Nellore to prevent an uncomfortable situation. As of now, all the groups are staying tight-lipped on the issue.

Balineni’s lavish Russia trip raises eyebrows

1

Andhra Pradesh power minister Balineni Srinivas Reddy’s lavish pictures in a private jet have gone viral on social media platforms.

Balineni himself posted these pictures on his Facebook account.

In the picture, Balineni is seen enjoying his travel in a luxurious private jet.

He even posted a catchy caption to this picture which says, “Live life without excuses and enjoy travelling”

However, Balineni did not disclose where he is flying in a private jet.

YSRCP circles say Balineni embarked on a trip to Russia.

But no one knows, whether it’s an official trip or a personal trip.

In the picture, only Baleneni is seen in a luxurious private jet giving indications that he is on a ‘personal jolly trip’ to Russia.

He is already famous for lavish life style.

At a time when all are facing severe financial crisis due to Covid, Balieneni’s lavish pictures in a luxurious private jet raises many a eyebrows.

YSRCP MLAs show mirror to government’s claims

0

Despite all the welfare schemes, the direct-benefit-transfer programmes, free housing sites and the slew of doles, there seems to be a lurking fear among the MLAs of Guntur district that something is amiss and somewhere things are going wrong. The MLAs from Guntur seem to have an apprehension that things are not going the way they would have wanted.

In fact, Guntur district saw a YSRCP tsunami i 2019 elections with all but two MLA seats falling into the YSRCP kitty. But, if you thought that everything is hunky dory, think again. In the recent review meeting of the Guntur district, the MLAs have expressed deep dissatisfaction at the way things are happening in the state. They have been feeling that the administration is taking the YSRCP government for a ride. They said the administration was totally insensitive to the local issues.

Vinukonda MLA Bolla Brahmanaidu has asked the irrigation officials as to why there was Naka Bandi on irrigation canals. He said the claims of the officials that the projects have enough water were false. If the projects are filled to the brim, why should there be naka bandi on the canals, he asked. He said that the people know the reality and that they were ridiculing the MLAs when they claimed that there was no shortage of water. Another YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy highlighted the massive corruption and diversion of the PDS rice. He said that starting from the commissioner of civil supplies down to the dealer, everyone was corrupt in the civil supplies department.

Another MLA Merugu Nagarjuna too expressed dissatisfaction over the tardy pace of crop damage estimation by the horticulture department. He said that the administration was insensitive to the people’s needs. If the same trend continues, the ruling party would face a total rout in 2024, the MLAs said. The district incharge minister had a tough time convincing the MLAs. The MLAs are deeply unhappy over the way the thing are happening in the district.

YSRCP rejects BJP allegation of government targeting Hindu festivals

1

Andhra Pradesh’s ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Sunday dismissed the opposition BJP’s allegations that the state government is imposing restrictions only on Hindu festivals.

Brahmin Corporation Chairman Malladi Vishnu slammed the state BJP leaders for politicising the government’s decision to restrict the celebrations of festivals, noting that the restrictions were imposed as per Union Home Secretary’s directives in view of Covid-19 pandemic.

He told reporters that the restrictions were imposed only on the public celebrations keeping the possible Covid third wave in view, and the issue should not be politicised.

He pointed out that in order to avoid mass gatherings, the state government postponed the events like the YSR Achievement awards and Teacher’s Day celebrations. He said even 75th Independence Day celebrations were organised without allowing public participation in the state function.

The restrictions are part of the preventive measures keeping public safety in view during the pandemic, he said, suggesting celebrations be held at home.

He criticised the BJP leaders for not speaking up on vaccines, Covid testing or those issues that actually benefit people. He said that state BJP chief Somu Veerraju has been intentionally politicising the issue to mislead people and create disputes among them.

Vishnu was reacting to Veerraju’s statement criticising the state government’s orders restricting the celebrations of Vinayaka Chavithi.

He had questioned why the state government was imposing restrictions only on Hindu festivals leaving all other festivals. He demanded the DGP withdraw the orders restricting on Hindus celebrating Vinayaka Chavithi.

The YSRCP leader on Sunday released to the media GOs about restrictions imposed on Eid-ul-Azha and Muharram. He also pointed out that celebration of the annual Rottela Panduga in Nellore district was also not allowed in view of the pandemic situation.

Groupism in YSRCP gives sleepless nights to Govt employees

0

Rampant groupism in Anantapur YSRCP has turned out to be a major source of headache for the government employees, especially the village secretaries. The elected people’s representatives are now trying to control the village secretaries and are said to be harassing them.

Ever since Jagan brought in the village secretariat system, the elected people’s representatives have no real power in their constituencies. Everything is routed through the village secretaries. YS Jagan has established a direct connection with the village secretariats and the elected MLAs, councilors and municipal chairpersons have no direct role in the disbursal of pensions and awarding of the schemes. As a result, no one is consulting these leaders these days.

To tame the officials and employees, the elected people’s representatives of the YSRCP are now threatening them with ACB cases. As a result, several secretaries are afraid of discharging their duties. They are worried about the harassment by the YSRCP leaders. In Talupula mandal of the district, all the 74 village secretaries, including the local MPDO have proceeded on mass leave in protest against the YSRCP leaders. In Kadiri mandal, local TPO Rahman was threatened by the YSRCP leaders, who said they would beat him to death after trying him to a tree for not doing their bidding.

The situation has come to a pass that the government employees and the village secretaries are now thinking of going on mass leave. With rampant groupism, the pressures have only increased on these staff members. Each faction is trying to impose its will on the government employees and is threatening them with dire consequences if they do not toe their line.

AP minister Suresh in trouble, SC orders CBI inquiry into illegal assets case!

1

Andhra Pradesh education minister Adimulapu Suresh and his wife landed in trouble with the Supreme Court on Thursday (today) directing CBI to file FIR against them and inquire into the disproportionate assets case.

Suresh and his wife Vijayalaxmi are both IRS officers. Suresh entered into active politics in 2009.

The CBI in 2016 conducted raids on residences of IRS officers across the country. They filed FIR against Vijayalaxmi for owining disproportionate assets to the known sources of her income.

In the FIR filed in 2017, the CBI names Vijayalaxmi as prime accused and Suresh as A-2.

However, both challenged FIR in Telangana High Court stating that CBI filed FIR without conducting a preliminary investigation into the case and without questioning them.

The Telangana High Court in February this year quashed the FIR filed by CBI.

But, CBI challenged High Court’s orders in the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court dismissed Telangana High Court orders and directed CBI to register FIR against them and conduct inquiry into the issue.

The court adjourned the case for two weeks.

0

YSRCP general secretary and Rajya Sabha member V.Vijayasai Reddy urged people to complain to him if anyone indulges in ‘land settlements’ or any other illegal activities in his name.

Vijayasai said he will soon release two toll-free numbers on which people can complain against those who indulge in settlements on his name.

Vijayasai said he has no interest in money or property or any wealth adding that even the house in which he lives in Hyderabad is a rented one.

He expressed his desire to settle down permanently in Vizag or Bheemili.

He said he has plans to buy four acres in Bheemili and settle there in the futre.

Vijayasai said his only goal is the development of North Andhra region.

He stated that he was focussing on North Andhra region as per the directions of party chief and AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy and has no personal interests there.

If anyone tries to misuse my name or position to indulge in land settlements or illegal activities, I will take severe action against them and requested all to complain to him if they find such people anywhere.

Kinjarapu family sheds inhibitions, goes aggressive on YSRCP

1

Until recently, they were subdued. They advised caution and asked the party workers to stay cool. Spate of cases and arrests have subdued them and forced them to go low-key. But, the North Andhra biggies are now back into the business of belligerence. We are talking about TDP’s strongest leaders in North Andhra. Kinjarapu Atchen Naidu and Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu. Atchen Naidu is the president of the AP TDP, while Rammohan Naidu is an MP from North Andhra.

Soon after the TDP’s massive defeat and the spate of cases against them, the Kinjarapu duo adopted silence. Atchen Naidu was arrested in the ESI scam also. After this both Atchen and Rammohan became silent. Whenever party workers approached them, they advised caution. They advised them to remain patient till the situation turned in their favour. Even a firebrand young leader like Rammohan Naidu spent time writing letters to the state and the Central government. But all of a sudden, they have become aggressive now.

Now they have come out into the open in the recent party dharna at Kotabommali in Srikakulam district. Not only did they participate in it, but also gave fiery speeches and said they were taking note of the police excesses. They said once they come back to power, they would pay those police officers who were harassing them back in the same coin.

They said that they would punish all those cops who were harassing the party workers in North Andhra. This new-found show of confidence and defiance was a pleasant shock to the party workers. Sources say they have got over the initial shock of arrest and are now belligerent again. Yet others say that Kinjarapu family has realised that they would lose their support base if they remain silent anymore. If the Kinjarapu family continues with the same fortitude and defiance, the political script of North Andhra will change for the better for the TDP, say sources.

Will Vijayamma resign from YSRCP’s honorary President’s post?

0

Is YS Vijayamma planning something big bang that can shake YS Jagan’s confidence on September 2? Is she planning to make a big bang announcement that will cause tremors in Telugu politics? Is she going to announce her preference for her daughter YS Sharmila over AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy? Sources say that the announcement will be much bigger than any of these.

Highly placed sources close to the Pulivendula’s first family say that YS Vijayamma is likely to resign from the post of the honorary president of the YSRCP. She is likely to make this announcement ahead of her September 2 meeting with YSR’s friends and supporters. Though unconfirmed, sources say that Vijayamma has decided to show her preference for Sharmila by resigning from the ornamental post of the YSRCP honorary president. She might take up the same post for YSRTP in Telangana.

But then, this decision could be fraught with serious consequences. As Sangareddy MLA Turpu Jagga Reddy said people might accept Sharmila as the daughter-in-law of Telangana, but what about YS Vijayamma. Will she be able to claim such status for herself? Everyone knows that she is the daughter-in-law of Pulivendula. However, sources say that YS Vijayamma is planning to announce her complete separation from YS Jagan and his wife by resigning from the post of party’s honorary president’s post.

As the honorary president of the party, Vijayamma did address some party programmes. But, these addresses proved counter-productive for YS Jagan as she carried a Bible in her hands and this has helped her political rivals to brand them as fanatical religionists. This has cost them dear in 2014 assembly elections. The party lost to the TDP and Vijayamma herself was trounced by over a lakh votes in Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha seat. While Jagan may not lose much immediately, Vijayamma’s estrangement could cost him dearly in the long run, say analysts.

Managements, Chandrababu Naidu silent on capping fees: YSRCP

0

Senior YSRCP leader and Rajya Sabha member V. Vijayasai Reddy on Tuesday said neither corporate schools nor Nara Chandrababu Naidu are opening their mouths on the issue of capping schools and intermediate fees.

“Corporate managements (of schools and junior colleges) are tight-lipped and Babu (Naidu) is keeping quiet because he is scared that people will be after him,” claimed Reddy.

He made these remarks in the light of Andhra Pradesh School Education Regulatory and Monitoring Commission (APSERMC) capping and regulating private school and junior college fee structures for the next three years.

The commission capped school fees between Rs 10,000 to Rs 18,000 per annum from nursery to the tenth standard in three categories depending on the type of location.

Similarly, it capped intermediate course fees between Rs 12,000 to Rs 20,000 per annum for various courses, including hostel and coaching fees for both schools and junior colleges.

Hostel fees have been capped between Rs 18,000 to Rs 24,000 per annum while there is a uniform Rs 20,000 cap per annum on competitive examination coaching for students in intermediate courses.

Reddy lashed out at some sections of the media for talking against fee regulation.

According to the MP, Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s education initiatives for the sake of poor students’ future are bold and exemplary.

He said many experts praised the CM’s schemes and programmes to further education, which saw a total investment of Rs 26,678 crore in the past two years.

YS Vijayamma to unite YSR’s friends and aides!

0

YS Vijayamma, the widow of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Late YS Rajashekar Reddy, has planned to bring all friends and aides of her husband together on September 2.

The occasion is the 12th death anniversary of late YSR on September 2.

YSR died in a helicopter crash on September 2, 2009, when he was flying to participate in the Racha Banda programme.

Vijayamma reportedly decided to invite friends and close aides of YSR to her residence in Lotus Pond, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad on September 2 to observe the death anniversary of YSR.

Vijayamma is reportedly personally calling all friends and close aides of YSR over phone irrespective of their political affiliations and inviting them for the ceremony.

She invited YSR’s close aides KVP Ramachandra Rao, Undavalli Arun Kumar, former TPCC chief D.Srinivas, former Speaker KR Suresh Reddy and all the leaders who worked as ministers in YSR’s cabinet from 2004 to 2009.

Leaders from both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are being invited for the event.

Will rival power centres ruin YSRCP in 2024?

1

Is the YSRCP going the TDP way? The TDP has lured several YSRCP MLAs into the party, made them Ministers and thus created dual power centres in each constituency. As a result, the groupism grew and the TDP lost the 2019 elections. It appears, the YSRCP too is creating rival centres of power in almost every constituency and this could very well sink the party in 2024.

Take for instance, In West Godavari’s Gopalapuram constituency. The sitting MLA Talari Venkat Rao is feeling insecure because minister Thaneti’s Vanitha’s father Jonnakuti Babaji Rao is the real power centre in the constituency. While Thaneti Vanitha is an MLA from Kovvur, her father was a two-time MLA in Gopalapuram. As a result, he exercises the real authority in the constituency as Venkat Rao is smarting under his domination.

In Palamner, there is a war for supremacy between sitting MLA Venkataiah Goud and former Minister Amarnath Reddy. The party is divided into rival groups and more than fighting the TDP, they are fighting among themselves. The war between Kaikaluru MLA Dulam Nageswara Rao and Minister from Gudivada Kodali Nani is out in the open for all to see. Ditto with defeated YSRCP candidate and former cop Chandragiri Yesu Ratnam and TDP defector Maddali Giri who joined the YSRCP in Guturu.

In Jammalamadugu, the spat between sitting MLA Sudheer Babu and former minister P Ramasubba Reddy is threatening to blow out into a huge crisis. Sudheer Reddy is unrelenting in the hot pursuit of Ramasubba Reddy. Sudheer has instructed the officials in his constituency not to honour any order that Ramasubba Reddy gives. If sources are to be believed, Ramasubba Reddy is planning to leave the YSRCP and rejoin the TDP.

The same situation exists in most constituencies. With rival power centres operating in almost every constituency, the party might suffer very much like the TDP in 2019. Political pundits say that it is about the time this issue is set right at the earliest otherwise the party may have to pay a heavy price in 2024.

This MLA spends more time in Bengaluru than in his constituency

Many MLAs nurture their constituency so well that they are always accessible. They are seen touring every inch of the constituency and keep meeting people to address their concerns. But, this MLA is different. He is seen in the constituency only when Chittoor strongman and minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Raddy visits his constituency. Want to know who this MLA is? Read on….

Palamner MLA Venkataiah Goud has three distinctions. Firstly he is a first-time MLA, who defeated political heavyweight and former minister Amarnath Reddy. Secondly, he has got the highest majority in Chittoor district by winning by over 40000 votes. The third distinction is the MLA stays mostly in Bengaluru and is rarely seen in Palamner. The general complaint against the MLA is that since his victory in the elections, the MLA spends most of his time in Bengaluru to take care of his businesses and visits Palamner only when Minister Peddireddy visits the constituency.

Due to his continued absence, the party is divided into three major groups. While one group is led by the MLA’s supporters, the second group is led by local leaders, who are behaving like independent satraps. They are claiming that they are the real leaders. The third group is led by former minister Amarnath Reddy. Interestingly, Reddy was elected on YSRCP ticket in 2014 and defected to the TDP to become a minister. After losing 2019 elections, he soon shifted to the YSRCP and is still maintaining his own group in YSRCP.

Venkataiah Goud’s supporters are finding it difficult to defend their MLA’s continued absence. Whenever the people enquire about the MLA, the stock reply is that the MLA is away in Bengaluru and that he is very busy. Sources say that despite several warnings, the MLA is spending more time in Bengaluru than in Palamner.

What’s the reason behind Vasireddy Padma’s comments?

1

Woman Commission chairperson Vasireddy Padma ‘s comments on the recent audio tape leaks of two YSRCP leaders are now making waves. Padma said that there should be a thorough inquiry into the allegations of gender harassment regardless of how high the accused are placed in the society. These comments have now become a hot topic of discussion.

Interestingly, the names of two YSRCP leaders have figured in audio leaks. One is Ambati Rambabu, a ministerial aspirant. The other one is Avanthi Srinivas aka Mutthamsetti Srinivasa Rao, who is currently a minister. While Rambabu is hoping to be accommodated in the ministry, Avanthi Srinivas wants to keep the ministry. Both these leaders are now accused of making indecent proposals to women. The audio tapes have gone viral on social media.

Normally, those facing such allegations issue hot denials and the matter ends there. But, this time around, the Woman’s Commission has stepped in. Though a YSRCP functionary, she said no one would be spared if they were found to harass women. Interestingly, the clips are not about harassment. Secondly, no complaint has been lodged so far by any ‘victim.’ Both the leaders themselves have lodged complaints. Such being the case, why should Vasireddy Padma issue such a statement?

Party sources say that Vasireddy Padma could not have made this statement if she did not have a nod from the top. Otherwise, she would have remained silent. Now the buzz in the YSRCP is that Vasireddy Padma made this comment only because she was told to make it. This perhaps could be a plan of the party’s top leadership to keep these leaders away from the ministerial contest. As of now, both the leaders have denied that the voice in the audio clip was not theirs. Let’s wait and see how things unfold in the YSRCP before the cabinet rejig.
